König headcanons

Just some headcanons of this man cuz I absolutely adore him and God I want him sm. There will be nsfw stuff too cuz I want him yeah...

I feel like König loves legos. Has a wall collection of them in his room. Makes him happy to see how small they are. It's also kind of satisfying to him. Calms him down. Does get mad when he loses or can't find a piece tho.

He doesn't get a lot of them though. Because he eventually doesn't have a space for them. So he gets small ones like minecraft. He has the mushroom one.

Amazing at cooking. Fabulous at cooking. On dates if you don't feel like going out, no worries, you have your own chef at home.

His mom taught him how to cook. He just learned from the best.

Mama's boy. His mom sends him so many gifts and letters. So does he. "Oh, I should get this for Mama." He says whenever you two go shopping. He sees a cute letter, he has to get it for his mom.

He once sent her flowers on her birthday and she absolutely adored them.

What do you headcanon as AU careers for Dick?

I don't much like the idea of Dick as a cop (in Wayne Family Adventures I'm pretty sure they never explicitly mention his job, so I'm gonna pretend he's not a cop there)

Gymnastics instructor seems to be a popular choice in most of the Happy Dick and Nice Batfam AUs and it sounds in character... Except his night job related injuries would be difficult to hide.

Neither Fae nor Talon Dick are likely to have the kind of falling out with Bruce which led to Dick striking out on his own, so they will likely never have the worry about earning their own living. Bruce would no doubt be willing and eager to give them cushy jobs with the WE, or they can just treat Superhero-ing as their full time job. But still, I think they will want an independent, non-nepo baby job.

I like the idea of Dick as a CPS worker, or just with social services in general. He'll be great with traumatized kids, has so much experience both first and second hand to draw on.

And if Fae Dick is with CPS... Well. The lore about fae stealing children is well known, but less well known is the lore that fae steal neglected children.

Now, that can simply be the predator going after the vulnerable, but it can also be in some stories the fae see humans refusing to take care of the children properly and getting their adoption instincts triggered Bruce Wayne style, taking them away from the parents who don't deserve them to a better life.

CPS takes neglected and abused children away from the parents who don't deserve them, to a better life.

Love the idea of a fae as a CPS worker, getting official sanction and human cooperation to do his traditional job :)

It depends on the Au!

I’m very flexible with what I read as long as the author manages to fit it into the story in a plausible and believable way. Like with the Titans TV series where it establishes very early on that Dick is rather feral and not as opposed to murder as Bruce *cough*

But over all I do agree that him being a cop doesn’t check out most of the time since most comics (at least from what I’ve read, so take that with a grain of salt. My comic knowledge is like— 3% if we’re being generous lol.) depict him as being very opposed to using firearms, and to killing. And cops have to carry guns to protect themselves and others, and sometimes also shoot people. So yeah I don’t know.

And acrobatics instructor actually isn’t such a bad idea imo! Yeah there are some pretty revealing suits out there. But if we go with what Dick is wearing in Gotham Knights in between missions it could totally work out! He’d still have to be careful tho, obviously. But honestly I don’t think people will look too closely at someone who does potentially dangerous sports as a living and comes in with a black eye or a broken arm or something.

CPS sounds like a very fun idea tho! Espiecally in regards to Fae Dick! He’s got a soft spot for children and their wide eyed wonder. And kids aren’t nearly as frightened of him if they happen to catch a glimpse of other either. So yeah, perfect!

But now I’m also thinking of the Pied Piper of Hamelin tale, because I can totally see Dick leading a gaggle of kids through the streets and out of harms way if there’s ever a Gotham wide catastrophe going on… hmmmm

Other than that I could also see Dick as someone who takes a job leading and organizing multiple charities (sponsored by Wayne Enterprises) and rising through the Gotham Elite. It would help his vigilante cover (poor and dumb Richie Wayne, always drunk and being scandalous, just like his guardian) while also serving the ulterior motive of rooting out corruption.

Idk that last one’s just a thought (cuz I love good rich people playing other bad rich people and causing their downfall… eh.)

Nischa headcanons because the little fellas have been infesting my brain like little invasive species:

—firstly, I believe in gay (no duh) and genderqueer he/him noel, and transmasculine bisexual poly mischa

—noel is in my mind significantly taller than mischa, like 5 inches at least (kinda like Andrew Rannells and Christian Boyle-style)

—noel cannot lift a damn thing to save his life, meanwhile mischa can somehow carry him with little to no effort (not in a “strong protecter and weak submissive” gross way, just in a “it’s most likely one would have more time and reasoning to put work into his strength, while the other may find it clashes with his ideals and interests” way)

—their contact photos for each other is just a game of “who can capture the ugliest picture of the other”

—mischa will get or show noel anything France related

—(goes without saying, but-) they both have very different ideas of what “romantic” music is… like noel will play soft, slow jazz like songs, and mischa would make them kiss and dance to Eminem

—going with that; their first non-noel’s lament kiss would be the most awkward thing ever, especially given how inexperienced they would both most likely be outside of it

—they find the most random things about each other endearing… like for example, mischa would be floored by Noel in his Taco Bell uniform for reasons neither of them quite understand, and Noel would be the same any time mischa smoked a cigarette in front of him (although this would have a more identifiable reasoning to it)

— if they had to share a bed together, it would result in either one rolling on top of the other, or one rolling on to the floor

—would 100% be the type to own a cat together as a sign of commitment

—one night before they were officially friends, Mischa randomly blurted out the thought of him and Noel getting matching tattoos together… it was never brought up since, however they’re still planning on it (this one is special to me cuz one friend made a drawing based off of it, and the other made a fanfic based off of the drawing)

— they would be one of those annoying couples who won’t directly do PDA, but get close enough that everyone would know why they wanted to take a bathroom break at the same time… if that makes any sense

—I feel like Noel would be the type to make mischa confess feelings first, just due to the fear of his luck making him lose their friendship over it

—mischa helps noel learn other languages, and Noel helps mischa in English class… many of these tutoring sessions end in whoever was being taught at the time flirting their way out of answering a question

— if they were to become end game, I don’t think they would have any kids, however I do think they would be absolutely extraordinary honorary uncles… like whoever’s child is lucky enough to know them would be spoiled shitless

—if they had to sit next to each other in class, Mischa would constantly be whispering the most random shit in Noel’s ear, and tapping his leg under the desk… naturally giving Noel impatience and butterflies 

—mischa has permanent little spoon syndrome… like to the point where even if noel wanted to try being the little spoon he would immediately reverse the roles again

—they would have days where they just go over to Noel’s house, and yell at the tv while watching either poorly written soap operas, or shitty reality tv…

—I don’t know exactly how to word this in order to make my point, but I feel like although he’s the more stereotypically masculine one, mischa is the more overall submissive role in the relationship (not even like- sexually, just in general when it comes to their day-to-day dynamic, personalities, and decision making)

—mischa will take surprise selfies of the two at the most randomly generated moments, and the one time noel managed to successfully get him back for this he immediately made it his phone wallpaper and got a printed out version

There's literally no point in arguing over words written in a story, or debating whether or not pixels on a screen are hot or not.

With that disclaimer being said...

Case 1:

I'm fully aware of the entire discussion thing of Nezha being eternally 12 and all that, but I'm also fully aware of how LMK Nezha is more of a parody on the original. LMK Nezha is more of an adult 2D character who took the characteristics of the source, but then was turned into an aged-up parody.

It's not weird with the context of how things even came to be in the AU. It does involve a form of "infection" that changes those that are infected. In ESAU it's just slightly different from my original story's OCs to appeal more to the Reader. There are people out there who seek comfort in their own superiority complex too, especially if they can never explore that part of themselves normally. If that doesn't appeal to you, that's fine. But don't assume it's weird just because you don't like it if a fictional master/servant relationship isn't for you.

Now, this ask wasn't really bad or directly disrespectful. That was just basic questioning on the general relationship of the AU as well as the LMK Nezha being 12 discussion. So I went to bed, cuz I didn't wanna respond with my rather aggressive response to the topic. Like, I ranted about it to my Discord server, but it was already around midnight and I knew I'd come off as aggressive, despite the logic and facts, if I just copy n pasted the way I phrased the rant. So I went to bed. But then I woke up to an essay in another ask...

Case 2:

I'm assuming this is the exact same person, based on the timeframe and the writing style..? Maybe even the same person who asked that question about whether I'd make Nezha's relationship towards the Reader romantic or platonic..??

For the sake of this entire thing being unworthy of an unnecessary discussion, as well as the fact that the person sending this isn't worth directly responding to if they hide behind an anon face, knowing they would get flamed, I will solely respond to these for my actual viewers, who do enjoy ESAU.

As in, I noticed how almost every single point is easily arguable. Like, they literally just made it up as if every single relationship between the Reader and their champions is romantic. Which couldn't be further from the truth. This is a point I wanna get more into due to how it covers the Master System more. A random anon sending me questions, or rather statements, like this doesn't deserve to get a detailed response to this directly either. My viewers do deserve more insight though. Be it to avoid more people thinking this is automatically grooming, or just to give interested people more lore dump.

To keep it short: Everyone who wants to be a Reader, is a Reader. I myself am a Reader of fiction, which is why I use my persona to fill in the Reader's space in any drawing I do for ESAU. Which is also why Macaque referred to their Master currently being female in that one drawing- Because in that moment, in my drawings, I'm technically seen as their Master.

So when you see the champions swap between their Master using non-binary or female pronouns, this is why. If you see me draw them referring to their Master as a "she", they're referring to basically their current Master in that exact moment. However, literally anyone else can also be placed in that spot.

Whenever I refer to a Reader's reincarnation, I usually mean either "the same person, but another life" OR "different people of the same/a different life". As in, the Reader can imagine themselves having had multiple past lives, or their "past life" is actually another Reader. We're all the Reader. That's why I kept saying the Master System is rather philosophical.

The Reader can imagine themselves if they met their champions as a child or as an adult. However, nothing in ESAU is forced to be romantic or sexual. If you were born as a prince/princess/royalty, that doesn't mean your servants are immediately destined to be romantic or sexual with you, right? That entire portion is up to the Reader to decide and imagine. I do not control what another person thinks of and imagines. If they chose to pick a darker path, the fuck do you want me to do about that? Unless it ends up hurting anyone, or they actively push the topic onto others, I see no issue with however a Reader wants to think up what happens in their life with their servants. All I do is create material for others to play with.

Except for the First Master, any other Reader can be considered either the same person or various people. That's up to the person behind the screen, whether they feel more comforted with one idea or another.

On the Nezha being 12 topic... Do people know what a parody is, I-

Like- LMK Nezha isn't the original source Nezha. Simple as that. Just accept it's a parody and be done with it. If you don't agree with it, that's your opinion and I respect that. But don't you dare fucking push that opinion on others who do actually accept the show as a parody and wanna live out their fantasies in said parody.

Like, the entire age thing in LMK is such a headcanon thing to the point where no one seems to have a solid age, besides maybe MK, who I've seen people calculate his age for due to his driving license and all that. LMK Nezha is confirmed to be depicted as an adult within the show, which is the headcanon I'm going with, regardless of whatever bullshittery people are trying to argue with.

In conclusion: Nezha may be eternally 12 in a story. But that story is NOT Lego Monkie Kid.

On a side note, something I found ironic and funny, is if an aged up character isn't allowed to be sexualized, then I guess if someone ages a character down, suddenly that original source of the character is no longer allowed to be sexualized either, just because that character suddenly has a younger version of themselves. It's not even the younger version that's being sexualized. That literally is the entire logic of this debate on not wanting a fictional character to have an aged up version of themselves.

Good job, nobody wins. I guess nothing can be sexualized at that point- But then again, Rule 34 wouldn't exist then.

Okay, but now this, THIS is where I got REALLY annoyed, cuz NOW we're getting into more personal territory of nitpicking at ESAU. And those who know me are aware of how I go Asian mom mode when my creations, or younger friends and mutuals, are being wrongfully disrespected.

In general, their entire point is a snowflake-behavior nitpick. Branding is also seen as a way to claim ownership over something. The torture part is basically just the pain of it. I could've also just have the champions have one of those toy stamps for lil children be slapped onto them if you really wanna snowflake it all for tHe PrEcIoUs cHilDrEn...

C'mon. I grew up with FNAF and Creepypastas. Which tend to be usually two of the first fandoms I see children get interested in and hyperfixated on. Mentions of brandmarks that have fully healed ain't nothin' at all.

Like, I literally met a boy who was 8ish years old, who was so happy and hyped about FNAF that he asked me to draw Freddy and Bonnie.

Creepypastas also might make one edgy for a while, but they do grow A LOT from it once they leave that phase. So far, everyone I've ever talked to about Creepypastas in the past became such a good person. Because they look back, and recognize morals so much better. They have seen what bad things can happen and we all know where to draw the line between what's fine, and what's not. Nitpicking on LMK Nezha and ESAU doesn't mean anything since it's just that, nitpicking. I know where to draw the line, but this line these people set is a line no one but themselves can imagine.

Show children bits of reality's darker side and they will know how to deal with the knowledge much better and faster as they grow. That wasn't even just about branding, but I'm tired of people saying how we need to keep children safe. Well yeah, keep them safe physically, but they will never fucking grow and become more independent unless you fucking let them think and process the good AND the bad for themselves.

Also on the topic of adding content warnings- Like, the fuck do you want me to even add? Those asks other people sent of the Reader being basically raised by their servants need no warnings, X Readers in general need no warnings, the brandmarks need no warnings cuz they're just there as aesthetic symbols for anyone not invested in the lore, LMK Nezha needs no content warnings-

Literally the only content warning I'd ever need to add is something like gore, which I do admit I didn't add on the ESAU!Nezha X Reader one.

And I'd just like to add a little something that made me raise an eyebrow: They complained about me going against "Wukong's celibacy vows" when they literally admitted to actively looking through the LMK X Reader tag. While that doesn't necessarily mean they would marry or bang Wukong, that means they're at least curious or interested in what a relationship with any of those characters would be like. Which by all means, would not be possible without it being fiction/fanfiction, and without them having some curiosity or interest in the 2D show of LMK.

Like you're literally telling me I'm practically hurting a fictional character's feelings on the matter, but then turn around and try to get with another character.

Fanfiction and AU's are a thing, man. It's all opinions, headcanons, and literally made up shenanigans. And there's nothing wrong with it when it differs from one person to another.

But dumping empty accusations onto me, someone who thinks more logically than emotionally, literally doesn't help your case. Like, you're debating whether or not this 2D character would actually give a shit if someone would wanna bang them cuz they look hot to the other person.

I literally just woke up so this is the worst time to post this but ngl I have this problem where I wanna talk about it but I blank so fucking hard and fall flat on my face that I end up not talking about it anyway out of sheer embarrassment.

I'm not good at structuring my thoughts properly either because of ADHD, but here goes I guess.

I usually gotta segway into the topic if it's relevant to the conversation usually via,, friend convo, I don't know how people do deepdives of characters and whatnot I can't do that. I'm not sure why that is, this always has been a thing for me where I've got some level of understanding and my own HCs and such but they're not written or anything, so I can't express them.

To me Postal is just a silly series (minus P1 and Redux), not to be taken too seriously. So I don't really think about the "lore" that it has so much. I can ramble about Postal: Brain Damaged tho, that's probably my favourite cos of gameplay... And the designs as well as the soundtrack. It's just such a good game, I never thought shooters would ever be a genre I'd like to play, as I was so against playing them (thanks Half-Life for opening up my eyes). I can say definitely with confidence that retro styled FPS are especially something I find fun? Not on intense difficulty or anything either, I usually can't go above normal.

Back to Postal in general, I frankly haven't done enough "research" on it where I can properly speak about it aside from the games I've played (P1, P2, Paradise Lost and P:BD) And they're all games that are super different from each other (aside from P2 and PL, but even then). I'd also say I'm still pretty new to the series, speaking as I haven't played all of the games yet. Frankly, I was planning to just stick to P2 and that's it, glad I didn't.

Postal 1 I remember making me feel all sorts of weird things when I both played it and after I finished it. The load up intro scared the shit out of me the first time I opened the game, to where I had to pause for a minute. And it kept spooking me each time I did open it. I think that was kinda the point of the game as it's pretty dark compared to it's counterparts. I won't get into the lore of the 1st Dude cos I've seen people pluck at each other's feathers over the interpretation of him. But essentially, guy looses his shit during an episode, starts killing everyone. (Or just, "hostiles", depends how you play the game.)

P2 is so wildly different (aside from the fact that you can shoot people) that when I first opened it I was so confused how I was met with THAT Dude. I was surprised to hear him talk more beyond than just "BLEED" or "Only my weapon understands me". At the time I was also wrangling personal fears and feelings(which I don't know if I wanna get into, let alone if people would even wanna hear it lol) over playing the Postal series, so my initial expectation towards the game was:

"Okay, I know this is going to have some offensive shit in it, there's parts that won't be fun probably." And hoped for the worst, surprisingly a lot of the stuff in it I didn't find that bad, most of it is definitely fucked up, but nothing I couldn't handle, surprisingly. I played neutral-y, so I only attacked whoever attacked me, but I'd bail if I had the chance.

Paradise Lost plays similarly to Postal 2 (as it's literally the same branch of game just in the form of DLC). But I've found myself enjoying it way more than Postal 2, mostly cuz I found some of the jokes in it actually funny.

P3 I haven't played because I got rick rolled by RWS on the website so I'm not gonna play it out of spite </33 (But I've seen gameplay)

Postal: Brain Damaged is like, even more different than the previous entries as it's a retro styled shooter. But it has the charm of a Postal game and MAN is it good, I think the fact that it was released more recently is what made me enjoy its humor more. And it just!! Is so fun in general like wow, I'm still processing playing the game and I've already been thinking of replaying it because of how much I've enjoyed it. Definitely recommend trying it out.

THOUGH this actually does kind of circle back to a headcanon I was debating pulling in for... technically 2 things I'm working on, but more for Sun cause he's more active with arts and crafts, of him having his own actual painting stuff that he works on in private during the hours the daycare is closed and painting pictures based on the descriptions the kids give him of the outside world, and also the images he's seen on their clothing so it would be a kind of surreal style of cartoony trees and more realistic ones, not totally gathering the concept that they're not both real, but also things from the Fazbear approved kids library of books for story/naptime they'd have with the varying art styles. Kinda sad before he gets to see the actual outside world and realizes he really doesn't understand how anything beyond the pizzaplex looks. Same for Moon though, cause even though he's got more free range of the whole place, he wouldn't have seen the world outside the shutters like the other animatronics can during the day so I AM REALLY digging the concept of them becoming artists in their other spare time. THOUGH cicrling around again, I don't see them still being "employed" by the Faz, this probably taking place a bit later after the plex initially burns to the ground and they end up as sort of a refurbished piece (stares at copper cogs longingly) that either slipped away from whoever restored them for (pick a shitty reason) or they're now working 'for' the person that refurb'd them that's still in that stage of treating them like a tool and not like a person which would also push Sun's anxiety and Moon's distaste for people into a more focal point (and also leave room for them to decide they're done with that guy and just... dip and try and move in with YN) for future plot~ (unrelated I have been eating up Sleuth Jesters this week piece by peace and it's giving me life~ I'm not all the way through yet though)

My MBTI type if I remember correctly is INTJ. I love procrastinating and do well under a lot of pressure. I'm also very stubborn and awkward with talking to people so I don't have many close friends. I do a lot of things just cuz I think they’re funny.

I keep a lot of stuff in my pockets “just in case”. I impulse buy, which is a big insecurity of mine. People intimidate me easily so I usually wait to get approached to start a conversation. I like watching adventure shows like extinct or alive or expedition unknown.

 I would say that I have a very dark sense of humour and am almost always sarcastic when talking to my friends (also I love irony). Which means that when you feel down, he will be there to simply hold you, if that is what you need. Knowing that you do not enjoy physical affection as much, his touches would be small and short. I think Nix has a very low-key way of showing that he cares and it is understood between you two that he has.

Lewis would absolutely join in with you in doing things just because they're funny. He has this positive carelessness around him that would definitely add to that. Your t-shirt collection would probably eventually grow and grow and every once in a while, Nix would bring home the most outrageous t-shirts from places that have you wondering where they came from. this old boy earned his chevrons as first sergeant of easy company for a good reason. he gets into friendly campus tour guide mode every time he hears someone express interest in joining the paratroopers and he's a seasoned nco at this point, so he's pretty good at telling those who are genuinely committed to seeing through their interest apart from those who blouse their trousers over their boots just because they can. you fall into the former category. that's already one point in his books.

being off to a great start already, the other points come soon enough, quicker than he can count them. as genuinely excited as he is for the possibility that one day soon enough you'll be part of easy company, standing in perfect rank and file with the rest of his comrades-in-arms at camp toccoa after warming up for pt, he almost dreads the day you'll have to set your own clothes aside in favour of the paratroopers' standardised uniform because the way you dress is utterly striking to him. the image of you in your clearly military-inspired getup, your silhouette clean-cut and dashing in the way he imagines only gary cooper or errol flynn or someone worlds away from him can pull off, is burned into his mind as though by firebrand. both the initial sight of it and every time he then proceeds to reconstruct it in his mind following your first meeting bring forth a foreign sensation without a name or shape. it comes in like a tide, washes over him, pulls him under.

And vital and goddess wife say they have some places and they're going to look at doing it with them assembled and we're going to try and sell it assembled and he says we should sell it anyway we can instead of think about it's not really sure he thinks I'm right but he's then reverting back to selling the Chinese people deeper one and then having the finished out Briggs & Stratton and the cheapo Depot one would probably be a different body style and that's where it's at and we always get complicated and he's saying Brad no it's Peter just a made one his own brand and it looks kind of boxy and yes it's like the Volvo and they have a hypercar too and the Volvo is kind of boxy this looks like that and he's saying this is probably the idea that brings would have a market similar to the Briggs & Stratton Chinese type version it's not made in China but really they're like 1700 bucks for a car it's bare Bones nothing inside practically no electronics at all something for a radio hand cranks he says then you'd sell the other one side by side because that other one would be like $3,500 and a different body style and 1700 bucks will be assembled I was thinking you can sell it unpainted with primer and have just like a couple on the lot and set 200 dollars it makes a difference to some people although they driving around primed some people want to paint their own car the color they want and we're developing a unique idea here it might be for the other car too and they might ask for it I'm going to put this dealership together and we're going to Mexico with it right now it's probably going to draw them down there

I have short dark brown hair and brown eyes. I have pearl earrings currently. I am 5'6. I am also ftm and gay.

I am currently learning German and Ukrainian. I play the cello (I would say that I'm pretty decent at it). I want to join the paratroopers soon and maybe get a doctorate degree in the medical field. I like writing books, reading, and drawing. I am very interested in history mainly the 20th century. I also know how to cross-country ski and love the winter.

My MBTI type if I remember correctly is INTJ. I love procrastinating and do well under a lot of pressure. I'm also very stubborn and awkward with talking to people so I don't have many close friends. For some reason, I have a sort of knack for doing things well, even if it's the first time I've tried it and that might be because I listen really closely to stuff to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. I need a straightforward path and a list of things I should do to get something done.

I have depression, anxiety and maybe (I say maybe because it's undiagnosed) maladaptive daydreaming, which basically means I daydream too much that it's a problem. Any small words of affection or reassurance sends me through the roof and makes me happy for the rest of the day (idk why). I also get angry very quickly and forget things quickly.

I am converting to Judaism so that’s cool. My sense of clothing style is just me pretending I’m in the military, pleather jackets, heavy jackets that are either camo or dark green, aviator sunglasses, a lot of neutral colours, fancy dress shirts/blouses, combat boots (which I currently do not own so just tennis shoes or winter boots), I have a few BoB pins which I have created on my own :) I like wearing t-shirts in winter under my jacket just because. The t-shirts usually have designs like aeroplanes, space, and museum shirts. I also have a collection of shirts from places I’ve never been cause I think it’s hilarious. I do a lot of things just cuz I think they’re funny.

I keep a lot of stuff in my pockets “just in case”. I impulse buy, which is a big insecurity of mine. People intimidate me easily so I usually wait to get approached to start a conversation. I like watching adventure shows like extinct or alive or expedition unknown.

 I would say that I have a very dark sense of humour and am almost always sarcastic when talking to my friends (also I love irony). I have an interesting music taste, most any song I listen to goes onto my liked songs on Spotify heh. I sometimes slip into a British accent or one that isn’t mine at all.

I tend to get myself injured a least once daily. (this is a not a problem for me anymore)

still no art rn bc i got a bit burnt out w all the drawing around double life- so im just still binging s7 videos aaaand well i finished grian's s7 series lol. i definitely watched nearly all the episodes i think unlike s6 where i jumped around. im still going back and watching other pov's of s7 though, itll just take me a bit. but, the consensus:

i watch grian's s6, s7, most of s8 and what there is of s9. i had started s8 after watching s9 (which i watched first) but i stopped when i decided i wanted to go all the way back to 6 instead, but also cuz i wasnt super into the plot heaviness of that season. i maaay go back to s8 and finish it since its so short but im not sure, it still wasnt hitting like s6 or s7 to me.

my Onion right now is, s6 is one i may go back and watch more of- i watched grian bc i wanted to get to know him more and see if i enjoyed his style. he was also new that season so i feel like it was a more skewed perspective since he didnt know everyone well and wasnt hanging out with many other people yet? but again idk who i may watch from that season (i enjoy seeing people interact the most tbh so i am not sure who i may jump to). but once i got into s7 i can say it has by far been a favorite and was very thrilled to see grian interacting more consistently with other members too- especially those i wanted to watch that season like etho and bdubs. i will probably go and watch etho myself too, and i watched a few eps of bdubs to tie up some loose ends. overall s7 had so many things in it that made me want to go check out other videos and while i may, im pleased that grian took more time to go out and about to see other people's bases and the events that made people go out more. the turf war, base swap, and secret bases were all key events that i found quite amusing and i felt they were all wrapped up quite well too. it seemed like everyone had better ideas of what they wanted to do and carry through in terms of stuff to plan. i was also wondering when the proxy mod came in so glad i got that covered by the end of that season lol. which brings to me my remaining thoughts into s8 and proxy mod--

so s8 sits very different w me now after watching 6 and 7. obviously those two were longer, and im kinda surprised to remember s7 took place during covid because it really didnt feel like it?? it seemed like they were all very productive, and i guess when your whole thing is playing inside on minecraft then, it wouldnt be too affected lol. but still, surprised i didnt see any clear hiccups even if they tried to keep that out of the videos on purpose. anyways, s8 and proxy mod.... when i watched s9 and the life series around the same time i was intrigued by the proxy mod as i hadnt ever seen any smps just using it constantly. for Life it made sense for sure, but working my way backwards in the HC seasons i guess i can see the pros and cons from my perspective...

i got quite accustomed to the uh, "old style" of videos with s 6 and 7. you know, recording on your own and hopping into calls when you wanted to interact further but otherwise typing in chats. i didnt realize how.... hm. different that is for the viewing experience. it allowed me to focus far more on the person im watching and makes certain interactions more amusing when its limited in chat. Proxy is convenient, and i do think its fun to hear people get closer or farther, or to surprise them. but the near constant of it being on kinda makes it feel like a never ending voice call, and i dont feel like (at least from grian's perspective as its the only i watched) it gives the person time to focus as much sometimes? and it doesnt always feel like the creators are actually addressing the audience anymore, as they are often focused on talking to those around them. its hard to say, bc i think part of it has to do with it being new, so everyone wants to use it a lot and get used to it. and i wouldnt say it ruins the videos either. but its a whole different feeling!

i think its nice to have the creators have their own space to commentate and then go into calls to talk w people because it better seperates the content. i do think the proximity part of proxy mod is fun and great for shenanigans. i think it being constantly on can hinder some things, and i hope to see more separation/muting in the future maybe...

My two cents on the TWEWY anime

Like I said in my last post, the TWEWY Animation is something better to have happened than not, and there are couples of good things about it too. In terms of production quality, I would consider it a low-budget anime. It serves the purpose of laying out the story in anime narrative, some characters get more screentime and get fleshed out a lot more (Eri, 777). Def March and Sota & Nao got revived, some scenes were nice… etc. The good things tho, cannot make up for some bigger issues of the anime, namely:

1.      Anime Josh is inaccurately designed and portrayed

As fans, you can draw and interpret a character however way you wish but as professionals who work on official materials, it’s hugely disappointing how they get none of Josh’s trademark features or expressions right. I have no business offending anyone who enjoys the anime, nothing wrong with that. I’m just commenting from the standpoint of an artist who has worked on professional levels, and as a Josh fanartist who has spent many, many hours studying his features and drawing Josh with a sense of faithfulness to the core of his character. Also as a Josh fan, this problem hit me pretty hard.

Sure, the anime is low-budget and heavily based on 3D model perhaps, but I HAVE PROOFS IT CAN BE BETTER. I see no problem in simplifying details to make it easier to animate, the anime palette and art style is decent enough. HOWEVER, it’s the DESIGN. It’s the sloppily put together design that can ruin a character. Now it’s not a matter of different art styles, since I have tried fixing several scenes in the anime to make Josh look more like… Josh, with almost the same level of detail. Yea, it still looks a lot like my own art style but I studied the original design very carefully to fuse it with the anime model and palette.

Let me break it to you: Josh has a simplistic design but a very complex personality that is subtly hinted beneath his facial features and expressions. Nomura has the habit to draw characters quite similarly (with slightly droopy eyes) from the 2/3 or ¾ angle, but he does design them all to look different if you look closely enough.

Firstly the facial features. Nomura always draws Josh with sharp features: sharp eyes, brows, lashes, nose, mouth, everything. Josh’s front angle for example, clearly shows that he has really sharp eyes and distinctly smaller irises than say, Neku or Shiki.

His eyes are supposed to show a mix of mischief and wit, and outright so – not hidden at all. Anime Josh’s eyes always look like he’s either blank, faking innocence or is sleepy.

We all know about Josh’s infamous hairstyle, but ya know whenever I draw Josh, I draw the face without any hair first to make sure the eyes and brows carry his vibe. The anime screwed that up by giving him the same iris size as the other kids, his brows always look flat or downward and not straight up like in the original game design. Also my friends pointed out that his brows are not drawn in black lines like his original ones (Neku and Shiki are both given black brows) making every expression a tad duller.

Now comes the infamous hair, the shape and placement and size of the bang is everything. It’s tricky cuz Josh’s bang would look like a 3:7 ratio from the side or 5:5 from the front angle. Most of the time, anime Josh’s bang obscures too much of his forehead due to bigger bang size and wrong placement.

If the character designer doesn’t get the face and the hair right, they get nothing about Josh. Why? Because it’s closely related to his characterization.

In terms of characterization, it felt pretty off most of the time. Game Josh is much snarkier and sassier, nonetheless more righteous (his name literally means Justice plus his role as a spiritual ruler). Meanwhile anime Josh is just pretentious. Game Josh never cares to hide his mischief, just getting his way around the truth. He never even talks much about himself and only explains the most vital key points, therefore he was able to create a maze of doubt and confusion surrounding his existence, making his character so compelling to in-game characters and likewise fans. Anime Josh lacks the charm due to downplaying all of that, as Composer he even had to explain everything himself at the end – kinda lame, to be honest.

Josh was pretty amused when Neky found out about CAT’s identity and the anime saw no importance in that (up: original frame, down: edited frame). 

More importantly, anime Josh’s expression sheet is composed of mostly non-existent emotions for Josh and seems to be designed by someone who has never played TWEWY and only guessed what he’s like based on characters of similar tropes. A good designer should never read characters based on tropes. The thing is, the original anime concept design looks like it’s done by someone who has a much better grasp of Josh visually. 

What the hell happened between the two?  

Granted that anime Josh is based on Kobayashi Gen’s design instead of Nomura’s, and Gen himself does seem to struggle a lot with drawing Josh because his drawings rarely come out right. Gen did try at some points and did a decent job, features or vibe – he would at least try to get one of those right on important occasions. However, the anime character designer just did a tropy, generalized design as the model and Josh in the ENTIRE anime was based on that. Why? They could have always made it better and truer. They simply never did.

This Gen’s Josh is alright.

This Gen’s Josh is an utter tragedy.

This sketch shows Josh’s face in Gen’s memories, a bubble of undefined smugness. No wonder it wasn’t Nomura who drew “Yoshiya” in A New Day. The job was definitely assigned to someone who never gets Josh right from the first place.

Look at the ending and promo art for TWEWY done by Ilya Kuvshinov. They’re a commission artist and their work shows clear research and effort in portraying every character correctly, even when fused with their personal style. That’s an artist taking their job seriously, the anime character designer sure isn’t.

The same thing happened to Sho. Sho was also given a good concept design at the beginning and suffers from the same design generalization later. He never even got to chant Pi so really, what was even the deal? Are these interesting characters too much to be portrayed correctly? Are they above what the anime makers find comprehensible? Whatever the case, I don’t think it’s worth it.

2.      The ultimately worst scene in The Animation is probably the final gun showdown between Neku and Joshua

Neku dropping his gun and smiling while saying “I trust you” is super cringy and out of character and illogical, as it somehow throws away all of his anger and frustration at that moment which makes the burden of his decision so obvious and relatable in the original. This is such a huge shame, cuz Neku’s been nicely portrayed for most of the anime series. The whole point of that scene was not Neku calming down to rely it all on “trust”, but about whether he could choose to NOT shoot Josh even at the highest point of his pain and emotions, despite all the s.hit that’s happening to face Josh with everything on the line, thus resulting in his final victory. 

He just did not wanna shoot Josh, but also did NOT drop his gun in the original scene because I’m sure if Josh redirects the gun to Shiki or Beat instead, the outcome would have been different. Neku is not the naïve and trusting person the anime decided for him to be, he grew up to trust and listen, but he’ll always have a good sense of critical thinking.

Zayn’s rap EP??? Dropped yesterday???!? “Breaking my silence” says Zayn on Yellow Metal- Cathartic (Zayn is Yellow Metal here) and he DOES in 24 minutes of political, personal, complex and lyrically dense rap zoems! It was leaked/dropped whatever you wanna call it by being posted to Z’s cousin’s account (like the cover the other day); but clearly Zayn is behind these drops and that’s what matters, he is releasing this stuff in a way that will get to the fans but not inspire the media uproar (or contract issues) that posting to his own accounts would. As he says “don’t say I can’t communicate, you know I conversate with you in several different ways”, plus “I’ve had enough of being my own enemy, come a long way since 17, I have a few things to say when I get up on a microphone, I didn’t give up on fame I need this time like therapy it’s just to keep me sane… and to be honest it’s offensive, offensive to my still open wounds, trying to ask me questions they know they don’t have I ever replied, I prefer to sit down be online and respond to fanart,” I LOVE THAT. And the political content?! “What a family needs, and the planet bleeds, the damaged trees, it's never leaving to a real sense so FUCK THE FEDS” (or fuck the fence, not clear, either way, YES ZAYN!), “the snake that’s called Biden, none of them abiding by what they put in writing we should be used to it by now say whatever for the vote and then just chose another route say they’ll never kill another unless that brother’s skin is brown” and “been facing the racists back when I was a kid...kicked me out of the schools, they had a problem with me and the kids that would call me paki still sit in the classroom chilling, and now that I’m older I see they treat us different, got me thinking I was the problem cuz they never dealt with those issues, 20 years later I’m still in the same boat, tryna treat me like my grandpa, say I came up off the boat, came to tell you what I stand for, man I think this shit’s a joke. How can I be civil, when they got me by the throat, ‘Boy your skin is so light’, ok motherfucker take my name up on a flight, try to convince immigration that your bloodline’s half white, my name ain’t on the list unless they label it ethnic.” HELL YEAH ZAYN. PLUS: “never lose me to fentanyl, scared when I take a benadryl,” not gonna lie I LOVE to see this GOOD good good, "just became a dad so now I’m taking all the checks" HA yes get it, "trying to be a better person than the world deserves to see," and, “with a cigarette, sun coming up, write my thoughts on the internet, feeling deep, I'm just bored with the silhouette, get fucked up for the thrill of it,” “I’m just here for the rap then I’m leaving.” AND SO MUCH MORE all in Zayn’s excellent voice and accent, a GIFT that’ll take much more than a day to really unpack and appreciate!

And happy 28th, Louis is writing music! Looks like he is working with producer team Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard in London (they call themselves Red Triangle Productions and put out music as SuperHi)- they posted a studio picture and tagged Louis. He’s just visible in the booth, singing. Also present- writer/ musician, Paul Whalley and songwriter Robert Harvey (The Music, The Streets) who were both posted and tagged Louis in as well. Louis followed Harvey. Hell yeah, what a line up! Not only that, Jamie Hartman answered a ProjectKMM participant’s question about other songs with Louis-- are they still working on new stuff? He says “I’m sure Louis has been working on new songs with lots of people!” [as we see, yes] “But yes we have done some too- who knows what will make the next album but he’s a top man and I would always write and hang w LT.”

Harry won Best Lyrics for Adore You at the iHeart Awards and Best Cover Song for Juice but failed to take the Artist of the Year or Song of the Year Categories, but more exciting than that- he’s listed as the Director of a new cosmetics and perfume company!!! People have been speculated about him doing something with Gucci Beauty for a long time now (he’s been noted to use their cosmetics, and definitely models their nail polish), and he has of course done perfume ads for them- there’s speculation that this could be for something with them, or it could just be a new thing of his very own. Well the Harry Styles palette would be a damn hit and we all know it, bring it on!

Anne Marie’s Big Weekend performance aired today and yes! She did Our Song with Niall! It’s the performance they recorded last week or so that we saw the pics from, yay first time getting to see them play it, but it was very quickly followed by the next time as their Jonathan Ross show performance also aired! And in case you’re sad about Niall’s previous promo buddies being replaced, there’s no need for that, he’s only adding to the pack; he tweeted Julia Michaels just today, “love ya hules” AWWW. He posted a bunch of cute OS video bts pics too, followed Oprah Winfrey and said he’d like to go to space and that he “would have liked to have been” a godfather to a 1D boy’s baby but “maybe the next one.”

Meanwhile Liam is looking at the fanart submissions he asked for- he retweeted a terrific drawing of himself laughing and said “this is amazing!” and liked a couple of other art posts. Feels like it’s about time for a monthly Liam catch up video, perhaps? Something else to look forward to!
