i was a crying mess this game, because my best friend in the entire world, my other half, my big brother, scored two goals tonight! (notice how i used all nice pictures because i’m so unbelievably proud of him!) (sorry meme fans) and not only that! he also had the primary assist on kuzy’s goal— giving him a three point night!

quinn has always been a star in my heart (not a dallas one but… well you get it) and tonight, he was first star for the first time as captain! needless to say, i immediately bursted into tears when the canucks posted those videos. this was 100% a scrapbook worthy game! (p.s. trevy, we need to go to michaels)

ALSO shoutout to my fav blonde princess for having a four point night! two of those points came from assists on both of quintin’s goals! thanks b.b!

quinny, i love you, and i’m so proud of you. i couldn’t have asked for a greater big brother💙

p.s. congrats to mine and quinn’s son on his penalty hatty! you might need to become a regular on my show!

p.s.s the three fights at once was the best thing i’ve ever witnessed, and the stadium playing country roads made is 10000x better like that was top notch comedy! ty for the entertainment tito, suter, and especially studz!

• then he wanted to do something fun so he thought a karaoke would be a perfect option. he took you to a really cute karaoke centre!

• y’all had so much fun there bc geto kept making sooo many silly yet funny mistakes and a few minutes later you found out that you guys didn’t closed the door properly and everyone probably heard your laughs , voice cracks and failed high notes T_T

• after all these , geto kept saying that he has a surprise for you and you found out about it when he lead you to a cat cafe! it was super cute and you had sm fun playing with cats while having ur food

• in conclusion, a date with him will be vv cute and you guys will make sooo many memories that you’ll probably laugh about later + you’ll see his silly , goofy and soft side more which only you can pull out! ( ˶ˆ꒳ˆ˵ ) ♡

• a date with gojo and there’s nothing risky? uhh you’re with the wrong person

• he picked you up at 7 and you had no idea where you guys are going to. you tried asking him but he just shushed u until you saw a cruise and looked at him with a confused expression but he just smiled at you and got out of the car to open the door for you (we love a gentleman) and lead you to the cruise and oh god it’s a huuuuuuge cruise

• you guys entered the cruise and decided to have dinner first so he lead you to the dinner section and heck yeah it was bougie af

• y’all had dinner and started walking around the cruise and was having fun talking to all these famous and rich people as gojo’s gf until you saw all these elegant people being occupied with something you wonder what the matter is so you decided to ask him ‘babe what are all these people doing’ he smiled at your innocence and got down to your level and whisper ‘by any chance are you into casino bby’ he asked you while smiling but you just wasn’t getting whatever he saying.

• so he decided to show you instead. he lead you to an area where you could see alot of people and yes ofcourse they were playing casino and your boyfriend decided to dive in and put 1 million on line before you could ask anything he started playing. you wanted to help him win but nope , you didn’t know shit so you just keep watching him until you saw that this mf won 1.5 million!!

• he got up and hugged you and kissed the money and ofcourse you! you couldn’t process what’s going on until he pulled you into a kiss and asked you ‘do you still wanna be in this cruise bby or yk i have smh else in mind’ you were confused by his question until you guys left the cruise when it stopped and roamed all around the town

This is like every wet dream of the last two years come to life. You think Roop won’t even begin? What about all the articles on all the potential merch it will sell? **snickers** I’ve never seen a brand launch without any product!

Roop, and Meghan, has potential.

Meghan has always had the potential to be a success. She's focused, dedicated, and ambitious enough to be successful. I mean, the lady went from an unknown D-List cable TV actress to the fiancee of a British prince in 12 months. That takes serious focus and dedication. Especially considering that they spent much of those 12 months apart from each other (again, according to their own PR).

(It's 12 months if you take Sussex PR at their word - they met in July 2016 and Meghan was leaking/hinting they were engaged in July 2017).

Meghan's problem is that she's obsessed with immediate gratification. Part of it is how she was spoiled by her father growing up. By all accounts from Sam and the Toms, Tom Sr gave Meghan everything she wanted when she wanted it, which led to an expectation in her adulthood that "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets" -- and for the most part, that expectation was validated. She married a producer, she got a cable network show. She posted on social media, and the likes, shares, reposts, and mentions start growng immediately. She wanted luxury travel, she got it comped by Soho House. She wanted Harry to prove how much he loved her, he blew up protocol and wrote a love letter on KP stationery. So on.

Meghan doesn't understand that real success takes time. It's the core root of her problem with the UK and the BRF. She expected everything immediately and was immediately offended when everyone told her (and showed her) that it doesn't work like that. It never has. It never will. So she did the only thing she knew how to do: throw a tantrum nasty enough that the BRF/UK will give in and do what she wants...because it's worked in the past. It worked with Tom Sr. It worked with Trevor. It worked with Harry. It worked (partially) with the press. Rinse and repeat for six years and here we are with Roop.

I've gotten way off-tangent here. Anyway, the point is that Meghan expects instant immediate gratification on everything and anything she does that she can't fathom the idea, or the responsibility, of follow-through.

But she can follow through when it's her own ass on the line. She followed through with marrying Harry, despite how vicious the cyberbullying and media harassment was (per her own PR). She followed through with Megxit, despite a pandemic that drastically and rapidly altered the world as we knew it. She followed through with the Oprah interview on Prince Philip's deathbed. She followed through on "Kate the Racist Royal" narrative despite zero evidence. She followed through on earning Prince/Princess titles for her irrelevant children. She followed through on merchandizing the Sussex brand, despite the Sandringham Agreement.

If she applied that same dedication and that same focus to Roop, it can be successful. Will it, though?

I'm skeptical. Meghan's (and Harry's) own track record shows that the only follow-through they have is in doing photoshoots that lets them take credit for everyone else's work.

So if Roop ends up being more like Invictus Games or Clevr - where Meghan gets paid to be in their social media posts and shake hands with fans at the farmer's markets - the fighting chances are much, much better once they have a product. (And the lackluster reception for Meghan's vanity video should make it clear now that they need real product, not just Meghan's existence.) Because the actual team can fudge the data and stroke her ego to keep her unaware of what's really happening.

But if Roop ends up being more like Pearl or British Vogue - where she's closely involved in the day-to-day management/oversight - there's absolutely no chance. Even with the most gamechanging product in the world, Roop is going to fizzle faster than Blake Lively's attempt did. Because Meghan wants immediate gratification and when she doesn't see those results after one hour of product launch, she's going to take it out on people. In fact we're already seeing this, when she threw Mandana under the bus in the Page Six story.

Unfortunately, I think Roop is going to be a situation more of the latter, since we're already seeing that. And, as everyone has pointed out, it does Meghan absolutely no good to have launched the brand without any tangible product. Even if all she had was a newsletter (like Goop/Gwyneth Paltrow did) or a premiere date for her Martha Stewart show.

So TL;DR - Roop has the potential to be a success but it depends on Meghan and

Roope/Robo for the ship ask

A MOST BELOVED DOCUMENT. (sry anon for this insane reply pls feel free to stop reading after this first paragraph ahlsdfkh) basically 2124 are my favorite stars ship even though it's generally difficult to articulate what makes them so intriguing, but i also think that That in itself is why i enjoy them so much haha. imo the more subtle and unsurfaced and laborious to construct narratives for the better!

i spend possibly too much time contemplating robo's character and i know that we (or i guess i...) often talk about his Just A Guyisms, which i do believe are an effective assessment of his general demeanor but alsoooo 2124 is just so rifeeee with introspective potential that it krills me every single time i think about it. as @kitnita perfectly put it in this post getting to "work backwards from pre-existing intimacy" is what makes them so much fun, because they have arguably nothing that connects them off-ice and yet demonstrate an almost automatic complementary style on-ice. and the fact is that unlike pavs and robo who play within a similarly restrictive framework, the entire ethos of how 2124 play together is that roope's strengths lie in the negative space of robo's, and it's not so much just the inherent beauty of Your Line Is The Only One I've Ever Known (places hand on chest. this is of course a large part of it as well!) but really actionably that robo plays in such a tactical fashion that allows him to effectively activate roope's motor. and i think roope is the kind of guy who sees that and is like... This is what binds us together 4 life. and it's really like... the ultimate marriage of skillsets which is also what makes the way they eschew any journalistic effusiveness (esp roop although obviously part of that is language-barrier related) so fascinating. like top line hold themselves to an extremely high standard and i think robo is extremeelyyyy aware of the weight of his responsibility as a goal scorer, but they're also both reticent about overcommunicating the importance of their "chemistry" to the media and i feel like that makes it... even more delicious???

i don't know if any of this makes sense but tl;dr To Me the ultimate romance is when two people play beautiful hockey together :) and in my head i also like to live in a world where that's roope's biggest philosophy as well. like roope talks about his connectivity to the home crowd and how he feeds off that energy and although it's not like... necessarily evident, i love characterizing 2124 as basically: despite roope being the most complete player on the team and appearing more mysterious or withdrawn compared to robo's pr capabilities, robo is very much the one who hyperfocuses on singular, self-reflective assessments while roope is more inclined to contemplate his chemistry with robo. and i love seeing it as the Roope_Confessional being "i know that I Don't Need You to play good hockey but it's always better when you're here so why would i want to change any of that?" whereas idk whether robo is prone to the same sentimentalism. and that's what makes them fascinatingggg! like all these weird little unexpected nuanced reversals to Roope being obviously the "cooler" and fashionable one, but also frankly the sort of cringe diehard loyalist "soulbonded to the spirit of the aac" guy whose greatest joy is Buying Miro New Clothes, who cares in very bleeding-heart understated ways etc. all of that really lends dimension to their dynamic despite robo being seen as the antithesis to pretty much all his interests.

i also find their cultural context quite interesting but maybe that's for another day because this is already a ridiculous post.... but briefly something that really informs a lot of their dynamic both in practice and in fic is obviously the existence of finnmaf and roope and miro functioning as the heartbeat of it, and we have moments of robo facetiously referencing them and essentially picking up Spare Euros (aka swedes aka petey and nils) on the side and existing on the outskirts of their friendship. and robo is someone who's moved around a lot and has a pretty varied background and he's talked about how he didn't really recognize the weight of that until he became a public figure and grew into the responsibility of his professional role, and that shows a lot in how he carries himself and interacts with media. and with roope being an "unknown" quantity in some aspects with the language barrier and being from finland i loooveeee any potential fic/narrative that kind of peels back all those little cultural layers or even flips their situations (e.g. post-retirement fic set in finland, soulbonding with the ability to speak/understand finnish—but also Not Understanding and finding comfort in that is part of the appeal so there are a lot of places to take this... etc. etc.). 

i will stop here but beloved ao3 user murkya truly does a wonderful job of capturing them and probably in a more entertaining and digestible manner than anything i said here does :')

Summary:

A year after the conclusion of the Serreno Splinter Wars, Marshal Commander Cody Fett continues his service to the Greater Republic for Mandalore. Yet, it was slowly cutting him to ribbons, his plans to remain a military man for life are being challenged.

Eventually pushed to take vacation by the brass and a chance check-in Cody finds himself in the last place he expected — An animal conservatory and rehabilitation system. Cody finds his time there unexpectedly healing and finds himself growing fond of the gorgeous Dr. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Director of Wildlife Rehabilitation for the JEDI Conservator Intuition. A fondness that he's sure is returned.

It all seems too good to be true, and he's right. The peace he hoped for here is rapidly turning into a mystery as endangered and threatened species begin to disappear from their supposedly safe habitats.

“She really is,” Obi-Wan agrees as he walks closer to the Mandalorian, studying him, “I’m sure she’s annoyed with some of my grooming, but I just want her to be her healthiest.”

“Well they always say owners like their pets to match so I’m not surprised.”

The noise that escapes him is competing to be a scoff or a huff, the only thing agreeable is the fact it is one of amusement. Cody’s eyes cut to him, a sly smirk lifting at his lips, before using both hands to give Boga more scritches.

“I’m right, aren’t I?” Speaking to her in a conspiratorial whisper, “He makes sure your scales shine and your mane is the fairest in the land because he likes to be all prim and proper too. You have to be a matching set to shame everyone else.”

Whipping around, Obi-Wan watches betrayal in the highest order as Boga’s feathers puff out at an angle, tail wagging, and leans more into Cody’s touch, eyes closed in bliss.

“That means I’m right.” Cody states smoothly, expression full of superiority and eyes half-lidded in playfulness.

Eurovision 2023 pt. 1

It’s this time of the year again! To honor beginning of Eurovision week here’s my opinion on this year’s songs and my ideal qualifiers at the end. No hate, just positive vibes here, feel free to disagree.

Semi-Final 1

Croatia (Let 3 – Mama ŠČ!) – You either love it or hate it. I personally love it – it’s grotesque, weird, absolutely unique and outstanding. We’ll forget most of song from this Eurovision in few years, but not this one. It shows that there’s not just one way to convey an anti-war message.

Ireland (Wild Youth – We Are One) – Not a big fan of this one. Sounds like it comes from a Disney Channel teen movie. It has a summerish, positive vibe, but that’s about it. Also, the live performance from Irish TV leaves much to be desired.

Latvia (Sudden Lights – Aijā) – At first I wasn’t a big fan of it, but right now it’s one of my faves. The vibe of this song makes me wanna lie on the floor and just become one with this song. And they’re great live performers.

Malta (The Busker – Dance (Our Own Party)) – This song feels like it’s a mix of Daði og Gagnamagnið, The Roop and SunStroke Project. It has its own charm, the staging is eventful and the lyrics are relatable. While it’s not one of my faves, it holds a special place in my heart.

Norway (Alessandra – Queen Of Kings) – Definitely one of the strongest participant this year. The song has everything that Eurovision wants: the strong vocals, the lyrics, the staging, the vibe and the powerful message. My only concern is whether it being a viral is more of an advantage or disadvantage.

Portugal (Mimicat – Ai Coração) – Amazing, vintage, burlesque vibe. Not my favorite, but I really enjoy it.

Serbia (Luke Black – Samo Mi Se Spava) – My number 1 since I’ve heard a few seconds of it on PZE recap. I love the message and the dark, mysterious vibe. It feels like it belong in a trailer of some epic, post-apocalyptic game. I regularly listen to it on repeat.

Azerbaijan (TuralTuranX – Tell Me More) – Do they have a chance? Probably not, but they still bring a great, chill vibe.

Czech Republic (Vesna –  My Sister's Crown) – My Slavic heart loves all of it – the message, different Slavic languages and folklore elements. You don’t get bored listening to it. I just feel, Vesna need to work on their live performance for it to be perfect.

Finland (Käärijä – Cha Cha Cha) – Before Finland’s NF I didn’t get the hype for this song. I found it weird, messy and chaotic. But after seeing live performance and public going absolutely crazy for it, I started to get it. Now it’s one of my favorites. What can I say, it’s crazy, it’s party.

Israel (Noa Kirel – Unicorn) – It’s a great, well-produced song and Noa is a very talented artist. I think it may be one of the dark horses of this year’s comp.

Moldova (Pasha Parfeni – Soarele şi Luna) – I love those ethnic bops. Pasha is a great performer and it sounds absolutely amazing live.

Netherlands (Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper – Burning Daylight) – It’s hard for me to judge it, as I don’t fancy songs like that. I’m not a fan, but good luck to them.

Sweden (Loreen – Tattoo) – In my opinion it’s a bit overrated entry. And before anybody comes at me, I like the song and I know it’s really good. It’s just that it’s absolutely what I expect from Sweden and Loren at Eurovision and I prefer to be surprised. But Loreen is amazing performer and I don’t think that this song would work so well if anybody else without such charisma tried to sing it.

Switzerland (Remo Forrer – Watergun) – A great anti-war ballad. I’m not a fan of ballads, but I think it’s a good one. With great staging, he can do well and I’m sure juries will appreciate it (if he qualifies that is).

My ideal qualifiers (in no particular order): Croatia, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Serbia, Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, Moldova, Sweden

Title: Don't Get Mad, Get Even I wanted to write the troupe where someone gets broken up with and then goes on to date the brother of that person. With the number of brothers in the NHL, it was just about choosing the right ones. So I've got the Benns with Roope.

Title: Station 17 Carolina Hurricanes as Firefighters. It's just a bunch of shenanigans, so I don't know if I'll ever post it, but it's been fun.

Title: Quinn Exchange This title is a work in progress, but on AO3 I have The Prince Exchange Program written, and it's a fairy tale Kingdom in the fae realm with Jack and Luke. This is Quinn's exchange to a different Kingdom.

Title: Nico Jack Also a working title. A little something that I started on for Kinktober and then lost inspiration for it. Back in my day, boys in maid dresses used to be all the rage, so... that's what I was going for.

Title: Acidentally in Love A mafia AU where Roope falls in love with the enemy. I started this one ages ago and honestly keep forgetting about it. I have so many ideas lined up for it, but not sure if I'll ever get to it.

I don't know any writers on this site because I don't really socialize, haha. Not that I wouldn't love to, I just... don't reach out first. So I won't tag anyone, but I'll tag everything else.

Roope/Wyatt for the ship ask plz?

yeah!! honestly i hadn't even considered them until hyacinthed started posting fic for them over on ao3 (& i know that @coffeehound91 is all in on them!) but the vibes there are so fun to look into, mostly because both of them have such disparate vibes?

wyatt does your nhl standard rookie humbleness ('my goal this year was to just come in, be a contributor and help the stars win games' re: the calder snub, etc etc etc) so well & while roope isn't like. cocky? or arrogant in an off-putting way?? he's also obviously supremely confident and settled both into himself and into his place on the team. pavs is a mentor to both of them but i feel like out of all the guys on the team who consider pavs a mentor, robo's the one most likely to follow in his career/play style path, & wyatt seems more primed to be a roope-type player — an obviously skilled goal-scorer who can shine defensively as well, given how much the team started trusting him w the pk down the stretch & into the playoffs.

i think pairing them off is fun because there ARE some clear similarities in how they both see the game & play the game. but also, wyatt's young & goofy in a way that we only really see roope get in the offseason/with other finns. so the vibes are interesting in that when you pair them off, it's like, will roope make wyatt kind of want to stand up straighter in an attempt to be taken more seriously? will wyatt tease out that lighter side of roope that he seems to keep back when in texas/around the north american guys? etc etc etc. when i wrote for them i was tackling it from a place of like ......... roope'd probably like having this young hotshot be obviously taken in by him & wyatt would love getting roope to like him enough that he stops seeming so cool all the time. there's a lot of interesting stuff there to work with.

it's not the main ship i drift to for either of them — i am still by & large bought into wyatt + tydel and i've also been putting in the Investment Work on wyatt's vibes w stanks for when he joins the team next season. & for roope i feel like miroroope & roboroope are where my head's at most of the time. but i DO love reading stuff w them paired off together and i'm sure i'll end up doing something else w them at some point!

Trevor had been gone for almost a week on a long roadie. It was great hanging out with Jamie and everything, but you were gravely missing your boyfriend.

“Alright, I’m beat,” Jamie announced after Catching Fire ended. “We can watch the other two movies tomorrow once Z gets home.”

“Okay. Goodnight, J! I love you!” you smiled up at him with your head leaning back against the back of the couch to look up at him.

“I love you, too,” he laughed and kissed your forehead before he left to go to his room.

You cleaned up the living room a bit before heading upstairs to the bedroom you and Trevor share. It was always a bit lonely without him there, and you know it’ll get worse next season when Jamie is back with the team all the time. You tried not to dwell on it too much, because it’s not like you haven’t done it before. Plus, with facetime sleepovers being a thing, Trevor made sure you were always okay. Tonight, however, Trevor said he was going out with some of the team after the game, so you only got your post game facetime.

You surprisingly fell asleep easily. You knew it was only because your boyfriend was due home in the early afternoon, but you didn’t mind. You were excited.

The sleep didn’t last long because you were being shaken awake an hour later, “Jamie Baby, I love you so much, but unless you got a call that Trevor is gravely injured, politely get the fuck out of my room.”

���Wrong baby,” you heard Trevor laugh. You shot up in bed quick to the sweet sight of your smiling boyfriend, “Trevor!”

“Shhhh,” Trevor shushed you, still laughing. “You’ll wake up Jimmy and I just want me and you time. Wanna play chel?”

“Yes, oh my god! Jamie is so bad at it; he gives me zero challenge that it gets boring after a while,” you accepted his offer eagerly.

“He really does suck,” Trevor agreed, taking your hand to guide you down the stairs to the living room. He quickly got out the controllers and popped in the game. He then sat down in the middle of the couch and opened his legs a bit and motioned for you to sit in between them. “You’re going down, sweet girl.”

“You wish, Zegras,” you fired back.

“Oh yeah? Well, I call dibs on Quinn,” Trevor smirked.

You gasped, “Oh, you dick! Fine. I’ll be Robo.”

“Stop liking the Stars!”

“Make me!”

Trevor dropped his controller and swiftly flipped you down on the couch and climbed on top of you.

“Don’t you dare, Zegras,” you warned. “I’ll cut you off.”

Trevor scoffed, “yeah right, you missed me too much for that.”

“I wasn’t expecting you until tomorrow; I can wait a few more days,” you smiled deviously.

“Can we kiss and make up?” Trevor quirked an eyebrow.

You rolled your eyes and pulled him down for a kiss. Trevor was deepening the kiss and started to trail kisses across your jaw and down your neck when you shoved him away, granting you a frown from your boyfriend.

“I wanna play chel!” you smiled as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Trevor’s pout turned into another smile, “Fine. But you can’t play as Robo.”

“That’s okay,” you smirked. “I’ll play as Roope.”

i had to marinate and think a Lot on how robo, jake, and roope all meet bc obviously coming from 3 different places there has to be an element of chance but also. i dont wanna go completely batshit lmao. here's an Attempt at explaining my thoughts!!:

otter still goes to college but instead of bu. bc he's not pursuing hockey. he ends up going to ut austin (its a good communications school and he actually has a communications degree like. real life)

he doesnt rlly Love school but he’s figuring out what he wants in life and his parents wanted him to go. so.

robo and him meet at some random ass show in texas, where robo only is bc his family drove over in the rv for a Different show

they dont immediately run off together and play music lol but they do keep in contact via text and calls for a few months, rlly Bond and become super close

robo comes through texas with his family again eventually but theyre not performing in austin this time, just dallas. so jake goes out there to see them

they've kind of vaguely been talking abt forming their own band at this point but obviously there's the distance that both of them are kind of. scared to close on a whim for smthn that might not work. and also they want to get someone who can consistently do lead vocals and play bass etc

anyways. they have a couple free days so they go to random house shows and smaller venues around dallas

roope is in the area bc at this time he's playing in the NAHL but heavily considering dropping hockey for music (he Actually played for bismarck and for like 2 games but. for the au ive decided he played longer for the lone star brahmas lol) and is basically just trying to find out what he's heading for, what he Wants

they see roope performing with a band that is like. Not His but just kind of a random assortment of his friends in the scene fucking around having fun (the house show is at one of his friend's places)

and roope is not. a great singer. he's not professionally trained and amazing. but he has a really fucking unique and cool voice (they will later find out this is bc of his accent and aversion to having a clear throat) so theyre like. heavily heavily intrigued bc they think it could make for a sick sound . in their band. what a coincidence!!

robo. looking like the most average dude ever. walks up to him after like hey ... we saw u from across the punk house and rlly dig ur vibe. and otter is kind of mortified but also is like ^^ play music with us please just to see ^^

roope is in an . emotionally difficult time in his life trying to decide if he wants to take a leap and leave all he's ever known his entire life. so obviously he jumps at the first chance and is like. Fuck It let's do it

obviously there's more logistics - roope finishes out his season before fully committing to the band, robo has to have this whole discussion with his family and have this emotional ass move to dallas, otter doesnt drop out completely but does have to explain to his family that his band is going to be his first priority at some point and starts taking only online classes etc - but thats how those three kind of. Meet and Click

theyre also still having bassist woes and thats when roope calls miro etc but. this isnt abt him rn for once

its a weird mix of a lot of Right Place Right Time scenarios, but how else do two americans who have no reason to ever meet end up with two finns who have little reason to be in america in the first place!!

i also think at first there's not really. Issues necessarily. but it takes a while for otter and robo, who are both super friendly open people, to kind of figure out roope's whole thing so they can finally click. which he's not Unfriendly per se but also he's not going out of his way to make conversation. but once they figure out oh he doesnt hate us and he's not even like one of those mean snappy punks he's just. european.. it's all relatively smooth sailing from there lol . it also helps when miro finally arrives and is both much friendlier at face value and also has roope being overly affectionate and up his ass 24/7 (which eventually bleeds over into his interactions with the other two)

22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?

for worm fic i titled it at the end! i wanted something cheesy and sweet even though the fic is complete crack. i like pulling song lyrics as titles.

for proposal au, "the full spectrum of human emotion" i used part of my fave quote from the proposal movie!

for angels au, the title comes from an obvious related song. but I'm playing that one close to my chest until it goes up :)

35. What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?

ok so technically i only have one fic posted on ao3 so it's our world, mine and his alone (the midnight train to go) as of right now HAHAHA

but i think my favorite once it's fucking done and dusted will be proposal au...and then city of angels au...those are so dear to me. i am determined to post angels au in february!!!!!!!!!! hold my ass ACCOUNTABLE

42. What’s your favorite title that you’ve come up with?

i personally love the worm fic title ajfsdlkfjlas but i also love Queerano de Bergerac. i think queerano is so creative and a fun play on Cyrano hahahaha i really thought i was clever for that one!

a fun fact about angels au is that i went and visited spots in the fic that i had envisioned while writing when i was in london! i went on a little roop fic tour and it made the writing process so fun! and gave me a lot of food for thought too. my friends who have never read or seen rwrb came with me and bounced ideas with me and it was so so so fun.

another fun fact about angels au is that i have art coming for it and it will be a surprise when it drops and it's going to blow us all away and i am so fucking excited

I was tagged by @shimyereh to share the last few albums I’ve listened to - thank you!! This is a fun one!! My cd player has no soundbar/speaker at the moment so I’ve listened to these as mp3s on my phone or on spotify. (Hopefuly I will be going to Best Buy soon...) Plus a bunch of these are new to me, so I’m a bit biased towards my new cds!

1. Concrete Flower - The Roop: Most of The Roop’s singles are unavailable for purchase in the U.S. so I was pretty darn excited when they released a cd. I pre-ordered this so it’s signed by all three members! :D I really like some of the new songs on here, and I’m so glad it includes “Love is All We Got” as well as both Eurovision songs and “Ohmygodable.”

2. Juniper - Lisa Lambe: Been listening to this one a lot lately because the temperature has slowly been dropping and I’m trying to enter into an autumn state of mind (because I am over this summer nonsense.) This is a good one to listen to at work.

3. The Lord of the Rings: The Complete Recordings (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King) - Howard Shore: I’ve listened to all three recordings lately (I’ve been playing a lot of LOTRO so I’ve been in a Tolkien mood) but since that’d be half the post I’m only showing one. And The Two Towers is my favorite!

4. Folkesange - Myrkur: I think a song off this got recommended to me by spotify and then I went and listened to the whole album and loved it. Then I found out she was selling the cds on Bandcamp, so that was an easy purchase.

5. Meyerbeer: Grand Opera - Diana Damrau: Another recent purchase. I love Diana Damrau and I read a book on grand opera earlier in the year, which was when I added this cd to the list of cds I wanted to buy. I finally got around to it. I think there’s one or two Meyerbeer arias on here that have never gotten a recording before.

6. On n’enferme pas les oiseaux - Barbara Pravi: Bought this cd on a whim last year without having listened to the album at all. It turned out to be really great - “Voilà” is on here, but the songs “Saute” and “Le jour se lève” are really good too.

i guess instead of soulmates it's more like an ambiguous soulbond au, aka they dream of each other growing up but very much in flashes and without knowing who the other person is and just assume they're all weird misplaced memories... i have lots of very convoluted ideas for everything leading up to them meeting and then after that i'm like well. plot what plot!!! i just really like 2124 when they have an extremely nonsensical relationship and "understand" each other without meaning to (or even wanting to) because the whole ethos of the ship is that they Don't Work and yet still play beautiful hockey together... so that's the concept. like roope dreams of robo's home in michigan and robo dreams of winters in finland and robo meets miro at the 2017 draft who's just spent a year playing with roope for hifk and he can feel so strongly that he KNOWS him and miro is like ??? completely taken aback by why this random dude from california just blurted out the nickname roope calls him etc.

then they do meet and robo is horrified because he's like, i can't focus when i'm around him this is the bond's fault! but the bond specialists clear them and say it doesn't give them an unfair advantage since it's just vague emotional connectivity, so then he has to grapple with the fact that he Likes Roope As A Person, etc. your usual soulbond shenanigans....... i don't like any of my excerpts enough to post but i love slightly magical elements that make robo hyperaware of his relationships and wanting to blame them for his feelings even though it's really just him at the end of the day ❤️
