Movie Night with Stray Kids

Summary: My thoughts on movie nights with the boys!

Bangchan Chan loves movie nights, I mean he gets so excited having them with Stay. However, he loves having movie night with you too. He adores seeing how excited you get while you pick out a movie you can both watch. He reminds you no horror movies as you browse through the options, as he's not fond of them. Ultimately Chan wants to watch a romance movie as he’s secretly a hopeless romantic. He’ll pick out all your favorite snacks since he knows you get major munchies when watching movies and your favorite drinks too. He will snuggle up with you, pulling the blanket up, making sure you’re nice and comfortable. At first he’s busy watching you and your reactions throughout the movie but then he actually gets into the movie, his eyes glued to the screen. He even lets out a few tears as the main characters kiss which you find so sweet. You’ll tease him about it later, but for the moment, you’ll wipe his tears away and snuggle closer in order to comfort him.

Lee Know Now Minho will watch a movie with you, whether or not he leaves you along during it is another story. I’m convinced that between him and the cats, you’ll miss many of the scenes of the movie. He doesn’t mean to distract you, but he wants to show you that funny meme he found on insta before he forgets or he wants to show you these cute matching sweaters he wants to get for the cats. He enjoys these movie dates with you, as he gets to spend time with the love of his life. Of course, you don’t mind that he keeps your attention away from the movie, as you find it cute when he gets excited about things. You do however, end up finishing the movie, Minho catching the end of it. Naturally he has no clue what’s going on so he’ll insist on watching it again…this time with no distractions he promises.

Changbin Movie night with Changbin is serious business. He lets you pick out the movie, some comedy film he’s been wanting to see. You’ll help him prepare the snacks and let’s be honest a full course meal, which you have no problem with. Who doesn’t love food with a movie? You’ll gather the blankets, forgoing the pillows. As Binnie reminds you, you have a pillow right here, aka his chest or belly, and who are you to complain. He’ll make sure everything is set up properly and then press play, as you both start to make your way through the food. Changbin is one hundred percent focused on the movie, because the moment he gets distracted it’s over. He’ll have to start the movie over again. You’ll be lying on his tummy/lap, blankets snug around you, your head bouncing up and down as he laughs at the scene on screen since you picked out a comedy. This in turn makes you laugh, a smile constantly on your face throughout the movie. By the end, both of your faces hurt from the constant laughter, both of you in great moods as Binnie takes your face in his hands and places a wet kiss on your lips.

Hyunjin If you suggest a movie night with Hyunjin, he’ll be excited, probably more excited than you. He knows just the movie to watch and pulls it up instantly. You agree with his choice, the movie seeming cute. He’ll suggest watching it in his bed so he can pull you into his arms while you watch the movie. The movie turns out to be really good, and he jokes that of course it is, he picked it out. You chuckled at that, teasing him that not everything he does is a good idea or choice, reminding him of some examples within the last few weeks. He’ll just laugh, pull you closer and agree pressing a kiss on your forehead as he turns his attention back to the movie. Halfway through, you’ll drift off to sleep. You can’t help it, your eyes fighting to stay open, but it feels too good as Hyunjin runs his hands gently through your hair. He’ll notice you fell asleep as you’re never this quiet during a movie. He doesn’t mind though, he’ll just continue playing with your hair and finish watching the film. He’ll make sure to fill you in once you wake up.

Han If you suggest a movie night with Jisung, he’s definitely down. I believe he’ll want to watch a marvel movie, one he’s seen before, but it’s just so good he wants to watch it again. You agree because it’s funny to watch him during the movie as he quotes some of the lines. He’ll try to get up to act out a scene, but you’ll pull him back to the couch, not wanting him to get hurt, like the last time you watched a marvel movie (this takes lots of convincing, in which you won in the end). As the movie goes on, he snuggles closer, his energy slowly waning. He’ll look at you with his big boba eyes and then pull your face to his, pressing sweet kisses to your lips, cheeks, jaw, neck, sucking and nipping at the skin. You try to remind him of the movie, but he’s distracted now and whines how he needs you and that you can watch the movie later. It's not like you haven't seen it before anyway right? He continues to pepper you with kisses and running his hands up and down your side eventually bringing the whole Netflix and chill to life, which is totally find in your book.

Felix We know Felix hates horror movies and how he basically is nonfunctional around anything horror related. One day he'll suggest he’s ready to face his fears. After all, you’ll be by his side and he can do anything if you’re there. You’re a little skeptical, but he begs you to watch a horror movie with him. You agree, not being able to deny that cute face as he pouts at you. He grabs some snacks and blankets and cuddles into you. You make sure one last time that he really wants to do this and he says yes. You press play and the movie starts. It all begins well, Felix is watching intently, shoveling popcorn in his mouth. You’re loving the movie so far as well, as horror themed concepts do not scare you much. However, as a scene with the character coming face to face with the ghosts in the house plays on the screen, Felix shirks, popcorn flying everywhere (what’s left of it) and he immediately buries his face into your side. You’re startled, not expecting the sudden outburst, but immediately pause the movie to check on your boyfriend. He’s shivering at your side, as he whimpers. You reassure him everything is ok and the movie is off, cradling him into your side. Eventually, he calms down and sighs, disappointed he couldn’t face his fears. There’s always next time you reassure him with a smile, which he returns.

Seungmin I think movie night with Seungmin would actually be pretty chill. He’ll let you lay with him, all nice and warm under the blankets. He’ll comment every now and then on a scene in the movie but stays quiet so as not to disturb you. What you love the most is how he’ll softly sing the songs as they play, since you’re watching a musical. His soft voice floats through the room, causing you to feel completely calm. You think his voice sounds better than the actors and actresses anyway. You’ll tell him so at one point, and he’ll just blush, denying your statement. It’s a moment of rare peace between you two during movie nights. He’s not teasing you or trying to cheat (as he does at game night). You’re both just enjoying quality time with each other.

I.N.

Jeongin loves movie nights with you. You like to take control in prepping for the night. You make the snacks as this man cannot cook for his life. You’ll make a cozy area on the couch, filled with tons of blankets. Movie night is not all on you however. Jeongin will pick the movie as he’s good at judging what will be a good movie or not. He knows what both of you like and picks an action movie. After settling in, he’ll pull you into his lap, covering both of you with the warmest blanket , before pressing start. Throughout the movie though, I think he would be a menace, teasing you with kisses on your neck and shoulders, pushing your shirt to the side. You’ll try to focus on the movie, but it’s hard to do so when Innie pulls you even closer to him, as he becomes more handsy as he rubs your thighs. Needless to say, you both will have to rewatch the movie later as you both become distracted.

she stepped closer to his desk and her expression softened “please captain, why you’ve been avoiding me?, I get it if you don’t want me, but don’t avoid me!, It shouldn't be uncomfortable” her tone soft mixed with seriousness

you like your captain romantically, yeah it wasn’t something unexpected, I mean come on a guy In finest a hottest, tall and handsome as hell, with muscular body full of tattoo what give him that hot aura, he is captain of one of the most powerful crews, he become one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, a Shichibukai, and his bounty 3,000,000,000 berry, known to be surgeon of death and all that and he is still 26 years old

even that you were always acting like lovesick puppy, melting and always have that sparkles and dreamy stare in your eyes and if you were hopeless enough you will start batting with your eyelashes, with cheeks turned baby pink 

it was obvious.. literally obvious, I mean it’s basically half of the crew told you before if you have feelings or crush on your captain, and what you actually didn’t deny it, the only people who are sure of your feelings are penguin, Shachi, ikkaku, and of course bepo, … and the rest were sure but you didn’t give them the straight yes

and to be honest you didn’t think much about this so .. you confessed your feelings to him, and what didn’t work like what you were wanting, he looked with his same poker face while kept silent until he give you an excuse and left you behind

and after this he start avoiding you, and that what you hated more, you got it if he didn’t like you but you disliked that in fact he also start avoiding you

Her eyes went wide open, her heart ached..does that the reason why he used to avoid her?.., “captain … why didn’t you said anything before ?” She took step closer to his desk

you know everything about law past, you knew everything, every single detail, he deserved better .. no..he deserved the best, he was just kid and felt of all this pain..

He swallowed softly and tried to look away “y/n..it’s just—“

“Look at me !” She said softly with sweet tone

she made her way to stand a front of him behind the desk, and slowly took his slender tattooed hand in her soft delicate slim one, and her gorgeous dreamy sparkly eyes meet his “I can see you hurting, I've been through the same thing” she said softly with tone mixed between kindness and sweetness, and her slim thumb rubbing on the back of his hand gently “baby don’t you worry, I GOT YOU”

his eyes went full of hope and stars, and his heart beat skipped and his cheeks warmth , he spoke with unsure tone “how could you be sure?”

Softly a small smile show on her stunning face, “I'd do the time for you, Tell a lie for you, Yeah baby that's what I do, I'd walk the line for you, Take a shot for you, Yeah baby that's what I do, 'Cause I got you, it's true, I'd die for you, I’d die for you, I GOT YOU” she said with sweet tone mixed with seriousness and confidence

his heart beat skipped because of her words and the way she called him “baby”, he knew it.. you never gonna do that just because he is your captain no you loved him and he loved you, he gently squeezed her slim soft hand , an looked at her eyes deeply “since you got me…” he said in low tone “then I’ll let you love me”

Part of the players were moving in a frenzy. It was normal for this kind of thing to happen during a game, it was to be expected. There were just some people who crossed the line, or got really, really close to it. Some would say close enough to start something.

Perhaps less than an hour later, everyone had already moved to the dressing rooms. The buzz was loud and between laughs, jokes and screams it was almost impossible to actually hear each other.

‘I think we can leave’ You yell at him, he grins guiding you out of the party saying bye to everyone you guys knew on the way out.

It felt like no one would believe you, if you had said Draco Malfoy was the most perfect boyfriend. For merlin’s sake, after your first date he kept your order from the three broomsticks in his wallet. After a while he had just memorized it, but he still kept the paper because he felt it meant too much to just throw it away.

He could be the definition of a person in love. He always went over the top for dates, and made sure they were perfect. It was weird in the sense that, he used to be so cruel and hate everyone (pretty much still does).

But you soon came to realize, he was excited to show his love to someone who actually wanted it. For the life of me, i can’t and won’t bring myself to believe Draco Malfoy would be a bad boyfriend. I just can’t do it. Because even though he’s been portrayed as the “bully and mean kid”, i don’t think he’d be that way to someone he truly loved and cherished.

YAY!!!! welcome to the club!!!

the big thing i like about hawkahy, besides the ten metric tons of narrative symbolism they can carry together, is the way i think they resist a lot of your typical shippy/romcom templates. i've spent a LOT of time in fandom spaces over the years and i've gotten mostly pretty tired of the same formulas, especially when half the time it requires chopping off canon aspects of either/both characters just to make them fit. at least, i try to be conscious of a few different red/blue, this/that dichotomies when i write/draw them, and play around with the sorts of expectations one might have for them both as individuals and as a pair.

i actually have A Lot Of Thoughts about this so i'm gonna put my yapping under a readmore:

i think the show itself does a lot to twist expectations, by virtue of having begun as a satirical comedy (which is still what i think it does best), a genre which relies very heavily on ironic inversions of common character/social archetypes that the audience would be coming in with preestablished tastes/expectations for. hawkeye seems like a self-centered hedonist, but he's also highly introspective and articulate, so he's often quite capable of waxing poetic about why and how he does what he does, instead of just acting on raw instinct with no higher thought. meanwhile, mulcahy's entire thesis as a character is just lampshading or inverting every expected feature of a priest character; if he's the "father", then the other personnel are latchkey kids. the last thing i want to do is flatten any of that!

here's some specific tropes i try to keep in mind and intentionally upset, whether explicitly or implicitly, in my hawkahy art/fic:

hawkeye as the aggressive boundary-violator, mulcahy as the helpless victim having his lines crossed— hawkeye can be pretty pushy and insistent, but he's not one to commit actual assault, especially not to someone who wouldn't hurt a fly. even in an early-seasons scenario, i don't think he would move much faster than what mulcahy's comfortable with, at least not with anything more serious than jokes and come-ons; i think he prefers to awaken things in people and encourage them to loosen up, rather than pull them along by himself.

also, mulcahy is not a pushover; he just knows when to pick his battles and prefers to bite his tongue. he's certainly blown up on hawkeye before. it would also be fairly easy for mulcahy to throw hawkeye over his shoulder or snap the guy in half like a twig if he wanted to. when mulcahy does get pressured into doing something he doesn't want to do, it's the focus of an entire episode, i.e. the exception that proves the rule. if hawkeye's going to tempt him into something, it'll be because he really wanted to deep down and thus made that conscious choice, not because he got drunk at a party and hawkeye decided to try and cop a feel.

hawkeye as someone who needs a tumultous relationship and thus won't be satisfied by stability— i talked more about this in a previous post, but i think hawkeye does want to settle down eventually. like i said, he comes off as a hopeless romantic. we know he watched a lot of movies; he almost certainly grew up on those "screwball comedies" that were so big in the 30s and featured neurotic nutjobs pratfalling their way into a genuine happily-ever-after. i don't think he'd want to settle down with just anybody, nor do i think he really places a lot of value in fulfilling those milestones of "get married by X age, buy a house with Y rooms, and pump out Z kids" just for the sake of fulfilling them and keeping up with the joneses, but i think he'd love to marry for love. again, he was certainly planning on it before the war, and he admitted that he's still carrying a lot of hurt from having that domestic future taken away from him so abruptly.

mulcahy as the innocent ingenue— this one is complex, and of course i'll preface this by saying i'm predisposed to not being all that intrigued or entertained by genuinely innocent characters. i find them to be something of a nonstarter, narratively speaking. beyond that, they tend to be unrealistic in certain settings and demographics. yes, there will always be people living in a bubble for every possible background and age group, but i find it implausible that a man could be 30 or 40 years old and enlisted in the military and still somehow be as naive as a sea sponge in a pineapple.

mulcahy is definitely not all that worldly, and starts off with a somewhat myopic view of his role in the grand scheme of things, particularly as it pertains to the motivations and effects of missionary work. he did join the military of his own volition, but i also think the mulcahy we see at the end of the war (and even at several points in the middle of it) is not the same mulcahy that volunteered to be here in the first place. what's more, we see from lines like "i know all about motels" or his hesitance to say hello to his family on camera that he probably picked up a lot of the hard lessons and ugly experiences that are typical growing up working-class in a big city. i think it's a disservice, both to the character and to the broader themes of the show, to assume that mulcahy's optimism and cheeriness must come from a place of inexperience. yes, he has plenty of room to grow, but he wasn't born yesterday, and i think his optimism is far more the result of a conscious choice to do good than an innocence to the evil in the world.

as for sexual stuff in particular, he mostly reacts to hawkeye's promiscuity with knowing winks and smiles, and even jokes with him about it, which i think is pretty clearly enabling him. sure, he bolts out of those VD talks, but with henry's public speaking skills, can you really blame him for eagerly excusing himself? plus, he has a strong incentive to act more innocent than he really is, because if he plays dumb, it means he won't be preemptively excluded from the conversation by people who think he's easily offended by bawdier talk. he may not be up to date on all the slang, nor is he always observant of certain subtle cues, but he's not a pearl-clutcher; that role is fulfilled by frank, margaret, and charles, so it would be redundant to make mulcahy also gasp and scold people like hawkeye for having premarital sex. mulcahy largely serves to validate hawkeye as being in the right in these disputes. which brings me to:

hawkeye as the amoral maniac, mulcahy as the moral compass— this one especially flies in the face of the spirit of the show, i think. hawkeye is doing his absolute fucking best! he would do anything to save a life, and it doesn't matter whose. he's willing to run into active artillery fire to rescue enemy soldiers, to stay behind and monitor a patient while the camp moves out, and to potentially get himself killed just to stand by his principle of never carrying a gun. he sleeps around as a coping mechanism, but more than that, i think he also does it out of a genuine desire to share some happiness with others in an otherwise miserable and dehumanizing place.

even mulcahy doesn't care that hawkeye does all that other stuff on the side. he wouldn't do a lot of it himself, but that's not an issue to him. again, his entire schtick as a character is being "unpriestly" to comedic/dramatic effect, like winning at poker, getting drunk before a sermon, etc.; he's far more accommodating than he is preachy. he has a profound respect for hawkeye that can be seen even in season one, because hawkeye always looks out for the frightened and vulnerable, and that's what matters to him above all else. mulcahy loathes lip service and values action over feel-good talk, which means he cares more about hawkeye doing the right thing than the superficially squeaky-clean thing.

pairing hawkeye with mulcahy invites some incredibly rich commentary on what "morality" even means, but i think getting hung up on the fact that hawkeye drinks, gambles, and has a LOT of premarital sex is completely missing the point and only reinforcing the puritan ideals that mash itself is trying so hard to upset and dissect.

the cute, sweet, blushy, short one is the sub and/or bottom— nah son. hawkeye is always talking about getting pregnant. mulcahy works out and likes to roughhouse. you do the math here.

ALL THIS TO SAY... i really encourage people to look beyond the stereotypes of horndog and cinnamon roll, or frat boy and nerd, or whatever other thought-terminating cliche one may be tempted to apply to these guys. hawkeye is a sleaze, but he's also sensitive and articulate. mulcahy is a sweetheart, but he's stubborn and resilient. they both go so much deeper than the superficial tropes, and what makes them work so well as a couple IS their ability to bring out those interesting, lesser-known facets in each other, both as characters interacting with each other and as symbols placed in juxtaposition to serve the themes of the show.

General Relationship Headcanons with Speedwagon!

I'm gonna be so honest anon I'm v happy to get this request! I haven't been writing because my personal life has been so so awful and stressful and I've been having some writer's block. Having something so simple and sweet with Speedwagon sounds just really nice to get back into writing with.

- It is impossible to not know that Robert has a crush on you!!

- He gets red in the face easy and he always keeps his eyes on you, no matter where you are or what you're doing

- Ugh he's such a hopeless romantic and he's so embarrassed about it

- He never got to be so open and mushy about his feelings on Ogre Street !! Having someone who lets him express himself the way that you do makes him feel like some kid with a schoolyard crush

- Speedwagon would make his confession rather intimate and romantic, giving you wildflowers and a picnic just to ask you out.

- I'd imagine he'd want to take things slow within a relationship. You're his first partner and his top priority is your comfort within the relationship.

- As much as Speedwagon would deny it, he is such the jealous type

- He trusts you and, but he's a bit insecure and thinks you would find someone else who's better than him. So when you're out on the town with him, he'll wrap his arm around yours and puff out his chest a little to show everyone that you two are together

- Unless someone is trying to get physical with you, Speedwagon keeps it classy with his jealousy though. He would only fight someone if someone actually poses a threat to you.

- Oh yeah Speedwagon would love to bring Jonathan and Erina out on a double date!!

- It is so important to him that you're on good terms with his friends. He doesn't expect you to be buddy-buddy with someone, but it makes him happy to hear that you "approve" of them

- Absolutely torn between the thought of Speedwagon taking you on trips with him or begging you to stay home while he's away on business because he's worried about you

- His anxieties may or may not have stemmed from a certain maritime disaster at the end of part 1

- His clinginess never faded away as he got older. Especially in the early stages of his oil business, he always dreamed of taking you out to see America with him!!

- Once he starts getting richer, I think Speedwagon is compelled to spoil you rotten

- Sure, he always knew that gifts don't have to be big and fancy, but once he actually has the money to buy nicer stuff for you...it's really hard not to tell himself no.

- Thankfully this little phase doesn't last for long though, Speedwagon always had his priorities on helping others and making sure you and him can live stably.

- To jump ahead to marriage, your wedding day is Speedwagon's happiest day of his life!!

- Contrary to other flashy millionaires of the time, Robert preferred something small and personal

Hi I have an AU called Pale City Teens where all the kids I like survived. It does not matter how canon they are, just that they are canon. It can range from full model and animations to concept art stored in the files of the game. This one is my favorite, he appears for about five seconds and dies immediately. His actual name is The Kid With A Red Scarf but for some reason I could never remember that (Control Car Delete) but I did remember his hat! So I called him Ushanka Kid.

I was talking to @neko-chan-13 about RK being bad at flirting with girls and they said what if the same happens with guys to him, like he doesn't catch on. He could've had a boyfriend but was too dumb to notice it.

We have 20+ AUs featuring Usha and RK as part of the main cast if not the main characters and hop around them like very normal people would.

Based on almost nothing I've made personalities for all the background characters. There's very very little supporting evidence for any of it but it's my dollhouse and I get to play with the dolls with Neko.

SO. Usha (his shortened name) is Russian, he likes heavy clothes, cold weather, and things with engines like cars or trains. He's the oldest at 17 and a half (very important to have the half). We gave him an old bike/motorcycle he built himself and fuels with grain alcohol because I pestered my brother about old cars for an hour (power of home distilleries in post prohibition era type aesthetic world baybey).

I decided to even out the amount of lesbians and bisexuals in my AU by making 1 singular gay boy. He's accidentally our token mean gay of the team with Pretty because he's kind of rude and antisocial.

It's VERY important that he has acne because 1) he does not wash his face 2) he is genetically predisposed and 3) some people just have acne that never goes away :,)). He cares about his friends, but not really anyone beyond them, and doesn't like to stay in one place for long (hence the bike). He's one of the kids that Mono and Six saved in the loops (Six picked to save him because she thought he was funny), so he has the pin from Mono on his hat as a sort of "Hey, don't fuck with me, I have tough friends" to other kids. Mono gives the pins out so he can recognize people since he sucks at facial recognition between time travel and looping.

And he's accidentally a hopeless romantic that just can't get up the nerve to ask out a really stupid guy. Even after he gets RK (good for him) they're both still stupid.

Because we thought it was funny.

I write him as skipping some words when agitated like "the" and "a" because Russian doesn't have those, and avoiding contractions because he wants to be understood clearly. He hates idioms, especially ones easy to screw up like "right from the gecko" (get go), and "add salt to the injury" (insult). He also doesn't like metaphors, similes, analogies, or hyperbole. He just wants people to say what they mean and stop expecting him to understand their unnecessarily complicated phrases.

We have more about him but SOMEONE is taking their sweet fucking time writing that FUCKING FIC and wants to be FIRST.

Chapter Six: Warm Water

“I spent Thanksgiving with somebody who wasn’t Rina this time around. I’m sure you guessed it, so yes, it was with Toji and his family,” you smile. “They have such different personalities but I can tell they really care for each other. I almost started crying in the middle of it.” 

You recount the last couple of weeks to Ezra while wiping him down with a warm towel. You know that the nurses do the same but you want to do something for him as well. You gently lay him back into the bed and dip the towel into the bowl of water beside you. “I guess you can say that we’re dating now. Well not that I guess, Toji said that. Actually, he asked to be together and I agreed. He wouldn’t force anything on me,” you explain to him. “Maybe it’s because I haven’t been in a relationship in so long but everything is so exciting. He still visits the shop when he can, but now I spend the weekends with him and his son.”

Your eyes widen as you realize what you admitted to your brother. “Before you get upset, Megumi’s a real sweet kid. And there’s no ex wife or girlfriend that I’m dealing with. I think the mom may have passed away, but I will wait for them to tell me when they’re ready. I think you’d like Megumi. He loves animals. I told him that you were a vet and he had so many questions that only you could answer,” you smile apologetically. “He has a little journal of different animals and their traits, then he gives those animals to different people in his life. Toji is a wolf. Yuji is a tiger. That’s Megumi’s best friend who he loves very much, even if he won’t admit it. Nobara is a fox. That’s his other best friend. Gojo’s a peacock, Nanami is a great white shark, Sukuna’s a bear, and Choso’s a jellyfish. You’ll know who I’m talking about when you wake up.” 

You push a thick curl out of Ezra’s face. “I should give you a haircut,” you mutter. You clutch your hand in a fist next to his head. “It’s not that I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. You know that I’m a hopeless romantic. I fell in love too many times to count,” you chuckle to yourself. You pull your hand back into your lap and sigh. “But with him I feel… I feel safe. I realize that before I was always waiting for the ball to drop, for another horrific incident to blindside me, but I haven’t felt that impending doom hanging over my head in a while.” You release a shuddering breath and blink up at the fluorescent lights to avoid crying. 

“I’m starting to clean up their house. I found mom’s cookbooks, if you can even call them that. You know she had that doctor handwriting that’s impossible to read. I also know that she never really measured anything, so all those recipes are her estimating,” you laugh softly. “I’m thinking about making those cardamon lumps she used to make for us during the holidays for Toji. I also have no idea what to get him for Christmas. Oh, speaking of getting things, I got you another book!” You dig in your bag to retrieve the new book. 

You give a small smile. “It’s called Before the Coffee Gets Cold. It’s a book about time traveling, surprisingly. I won’t spoil it too much, but I would love to travel back to talk to mom and dad again, even if it won’t change anything. They even have an old cafe that they always went to that could work like the book.”

 Before you could say another word a monitor above Ezra’s head started to beep rapidly. You look at it with concern, unsure of what the machine was reading. Within seconds the other monitors screech as well. You watch in horror while red flashes on all of the screens. Ezra’s expression hasn’t changed, but you rush out of the room, screaming for a nurse or anybody to come help. A few orderlies hear your distress, alerting nearby nurses that run to your location. They all swarm to Ezra’s side, checking his vitals and yelling codes at each other. You watch helplessly behind them. Another orderly tries to pull you away from the scene but you stood stock still.

“Ma’am, you need to leave the room now.”

“Will he be okay? What’s going on?”

“He’s getting the best treatment possible, but please, you can’t stay here.”

“What’s wrong with him? What are they saying?”

“Ma’am please,” the orderly gives you a pained look.

Tears swim in your eyes when you look back onto the bed. A swirl of green, blue and white mix together when the tears get heavy enough. You allow yourself to be pulled away from the room as ordered, leaving the nurses and now doctor to treat your brother. You are led to the waiting room by yourself. The orderly offers to get water but you wave her away. You pace back and forth in the small space, your mind running wild with all the worst possibilities. In haste you trip over your own feet, stumbling into a chair at the last second to avoid hurting yourself, but everything hurts. Your heart clenches, your stomach is churning, your breaths are shallow. With shaky hands you grab your phone, pressing the first contact on your call log. With two rings the line picks up, and you're greeted with Toji’s deep voice. 

“Hey baby, how are you?”

You can’t speak. The grief is too much, an invisible hand that constricts your throat so that only a choked sob falls from your lips. You want to explain what’s happening but fail again. Toji starts to panic on the other line, trying to get information out from you but the only thing he can hear is you weeping. 

“Send me your location. Can you hear me? Just let me know where you are, I’ll come to you.”

“I’m at the hospital,” you whisper. “I don’t want to be alone.”

“Is it your brother? You won’t be alone.”

Toji’s answer was another wave of tears from you. He hates to hear you cry so hard, and he hates that he’s so far away from you. He looks at Nanami, who already saw his demeanor change and waves him away. 

“I got it from here,” the blond man says. Toji gives him an appreciative nod, leaving him with the bloody men they cornered. Nanami already paid him no mind, getting down to business without him. 

Toji looks down at the mess on the floor and realizes he has blood on his shoes. He couldn’t scare you any more with that. He doesn’t want to scare you at all. Your last words echo in his head before he hung up, about how you didn’t want to be alone. He leaves Nanami without saying another word. 

Back at the hospital you wait in the empty waiting room. Despite you declining it the first time, a styrofoam cup of water sits beside you brought by the orderly. You flick it every so often, watching the ripples bounce, cross, and settle on the sides. You’ve calmed down from your call to Toji. Now there’s a cold, mucky feeling sitting heavy on your chest. You empty the contents within the cup in one gulp, trying to wash it down, but the room temperature water felt like slime going down your throat.

in broadest terms, my otp will always be dai n dark with someone who sees, understands, and accepts the two as a singular unit and whom they can both hone their affections on. it's okay if it's weird or difficult for a muse to come to terms with at first, and it's okay if there's some things to work out even after the fact, but a healthy, actual full-blown & mutually reciprocated romantic relationship cannot ever happen without both sides of dai n dark being completely acknowledged. this is the sweet spot; this is both dark and daisuke happy and carefree about their transformations around someone else.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

just about anything as long as we're on the same page. one-sided crushes, hopeless, impossible romances, slowburns, complicated and complex dynamics alongside simple wholesome head over heels romances, dnangel canonically explores this with dynamics like riku and daisuke & dark and risa. just remember that due to the nature of this muse dark and daisuke are essentially already a polyamorous package to those who try to ship with them, you get two embarrassing loverboys for the price of one. in regards to toxic relationships, i do have a limit - i don't want dai or dark to ever suffer too much, and they themselves would never actively, intentionally engage in a toxic dynamic as the toxic ones (leave that to krad,) but if i think a dynamic is interesting enough and we're careful about boundaries, sure, we can talk it out. daisuke's not immune to offering his neck up to vampires or digging his heels in to hold someone back sometimes, if u know what i mean.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

daisuke's 14/15, (i usually write him at 15) while dark's appearance is that of a 16 or 17 year old, (this is static and does not change, he's 2000 yrs old,) but they're both still canonically minors so i don't really like shipping them with anyone who's even around 18. (goes without saying i won't ship them with anyone even older/adults, stop that.) a year give or take from daisuke's age is probably what i'm most comfortable with; any younger and he's willing to be an older brother figure instead, while anyone older should recognize him (yes, and dark too!) as still A Kid.

Are you selective when shipping?

somewhat. due to some pretty horrible experiences in the past, i'm not a fan of when people immediately try to push a ship onto me, especially if it's one without any prior development or character dynamic establishment. the nature of this muse demands understanding and true intimacy, if not a certain level of patience at times. it's very, very difficult to just jump into a ship with them if what you want is full-blown romance right away. if i don't feel the reciprocated grasp of my own muse is there, i'm going to lose interest real fast and the ship won't hold any personal value to me. idgaf how hot anybody thinks dark is, even if i know his design pulls in people hoping for a ship. it's low priority to me.

what, like canonically? riku and daisuke for the healthy stuff, risa and dark for the hopeless stuff, i wouldn't mind exploring sato and daisuke a little, but that's extremely complex and i do prefer them as complicated friends/rivals/cat n mouse, cop n criminal, artist n phantom thief dichotomies <- this is already unbelievably interesting to me without any shoe-horned in romance. idk who else exists, the series already focuses on rom-com shenanigans most of the time. if it's non-canon muses, it's w/e. i don't look at charas and immediately jump to ship them with my muse.

Does one have to ask to ship with you?

nope! if it develops through extended ic interaction that's perfectly fine and actually my preference as opposed to asking. feels more natural that way. i hate writing an empty romance that has no actual legitimate ic memories involved, frankly. how do u love someone u literally don't even know and all that

riku is soooooo good you guys she's so good. if you guys read the light novels you'd know how good she was. her relationship with daisuke is the main focus of the series, so it's natural it ends up my favorite. i don't have time to unpack all of it but basically riku's clumsy and a teenager and daisuke's clumsy and a teenager but they both like each other so much and would do anything for each other. they're so good

write a 30 note thread with me with daisuke transforming and howling out his window that he loves you and that it's not a joke or just dark speaking and he really really loves you or write 82484248 threads where little by little daisuke falls in love and tries to muster up the right time / environment to confess or confess to daisuke first and then be gentle with him even after he starts to flounder cause he's never been confessed to before n doesn't think he'd ever be confessed to in the first place, the methods n possibilities are endless, and so i'll say the only method that DOESN'T work is trying to romance dark before daisuke. he'll turn you down very nicely or make some promise about 'next time' but that's a lie, he's stealing and eating your heart. dark's heart is daisuke's; without daisuke his quite literally doesn't exist. you can't reach dark without having something (anything) with daisuke first, so try that instead.

all these questions are so fun OMG im excited to get into it. ok here we go.

💌 — romance/flirting

full disclaimer. both of these guys are kind of disasters at romance. its part of the reason they work together. its Silly.

simon. my sweet, baby, darling simon. he wouldn't know flirting if it decked him square in the face. not only is he unaware of when others are flirting with him, he is also unaware of when he is inadvertently flirting with others. unfortunately, he is Quite gorgeous, and his quiet, blunt, Mysterious demeanor has many people intrigued and attracted to him and he is completely oblivious to it. hell, he's oblivious that archie likes him that way until he straight up says it (which is a fic for the future. not yet. they are still Pining.) he's completely hopeless.

archie is similar but in the opposite way. he is so friend shaped. he sees everyone else as friend shaped too. the idea of romance doesn't even cross his mind when meeting someone, he just gets excited to meet new people. this poses a problem when he is out in the city as Vigil because. well imagine a cute, blonde, bubbly, masked Dude saves you and smiles at you in just that right way. you'd fall in love too. the problem lies in the fact that people just. declare their love to him. right to his face. and archie is just like "aw thanks so much! get home safe!" and Never sees them again. he isn't even aware it was a romantic encounter.

the two together are a seperate thing entirely. they are both painfully, ridiculously aware of their feelings for the other but have NO idea how to express it or what to do about it so they just. ignore it. try to pass it off as a really close friendship. they are fooling no one.

bonus content! their love languages:

simon: acts of service (a surprise to no one)

archie: physical touch and words of affirmation (again, who is surprised)

🔪 — melee weapons

like i mentioned in the previous post, simon isn't really well-versed in any weapons because he is a Simple Civilian Med Student. the only technical melee weapon he is good with is a kitchen knife, he can mince like nobody's business, but tell him to attack? he is fumbling. he can't fight to save his life.

archie doesn't really use weapons in his fighting style either, he focusing on disarming and incapacitating. However. he can and will use a weapon if he really needs to, and his weapons of choice are escrima sticks because theyre effective and relatively non-lethal. he is Very good with them because he practiced them a TON when he was a kid (it was a great way to relieve stress) so yeah! archie weapon lore drop!

🌲 — surviving in the wilderness

im going to answer this as if they were surviving on their own, without the other because. together would be very different.

i think simon would actually be relatively alright on his own. physically, at least. mentally is a different story. but he is a practical guy, and he was an EMT in highschool so he at least knows a lot of emergency first-aid if he were to get hurt. he's cautious, calculated, and i think he'd manage to survive for at least a few weeks on his own with his knowledge of medicine and also just. general stuff

archie would be a different story. i feel like he'd just. panic. he's used to being able to punch his way out of problems and go home to a safe, warm apartment, not being stuck in the middle of nowhere. he is a city boy, through and through. he is not made for the wilderness. he wouldn't last a day. he'd get sad, reckless, and panicked. someone get this boy out of there
