[HIGHLIGHT] 8 minutes of Peterpan Tadsapon sharing in English about Reset The Series
Notable points from the live
Pan describes Thada as an ideal gentleman character, has some "oppa" archetypes and some of Mr Grey from 50 Shades of Grey archetypes. Pan did a lot of homework and research to keep his composure for Reset because the character Thada is supposed to be 40 but he only turned 26 last year.
Pan had to do his own stunts for Reset but for some action scenes Pond has a stunt double so they'll do takes with both people for those scenes.
Pan expressed his gratitude to the lakorn fans who are also planning to watch his BL series Reset, acknowledging that he knows usually lakorn audience often wouldn't often transfer to watching BL series 🥺. (and this is why i'll always support lakorn actors who step out of their comfort zones to step into queer roles or QL series. seems like a generalisation but it's just fact that it's definitely harder to convince lakorn audience to watch BL series as opposed to convincing BL audience to watch lakorns)
Pan shares his experience playing Prasit, a character with autism spectrum disorder in My Cherie Amour. He did his research as well as studied from series like The Good Doctor, Forrest Gump, It's okay not to be okay, about how to get the physicality of Prasit to be as natural as possible, that this role is one of his bucket list as an actor and that he's open to playing more roles like Prasit to showcase characters on the autism spectrum.
Pan thanks Tor and Yaya because he learned from them during My Cherie Amour is that you always have to be "present" as your character on set, regardless of how tired he might be, that when you're a main cast member, you're on set most of the time, and you have to manage that responsibility. Even if you are tired, your character doesn't know that, so you must stay focused and alive in the character. This really helped him during Reset filming.
Pan says the chemistry was there during filming and that there are quite a lot of moments like the 'slap kiss' acting scene in the Pilot trailer, the director gave Pan and Pond a lot of directions but also freedom to explore their characters and improvise (i'm just gonna keep my expectations as low as possible knowing the director is A Natthaphong who did Gap, The Sign and My Marvellous Dream Is You but hopefully iQIYI and Broadcast Thai TV producers know what they want and the vision comes through).
Reset is expected to be released around the middle of the year, but the exact date is not yet confirmed (him backtracking when he literally spoiled the release month earlier that day 😭🤣).
Pan doesn't know exactly when Reset fanmeeting is gonna happen but there definitely will be one.
Finally, Pan asks that fans be vocal, tagging the official Reset account and tell them that fans want to watch first EP, last EP, have event, have fanmeeting... to make them happen.

Part 2 of endless Disaster Twin parallels, the not so fun version
Part 1, the fun version
Considering the series shows Donnie coming off as autistic, he’s portrayed that way much more in fan art and fanfics, etc. We often see it in fan portrayals through an aversion to touch or his senses getting overwhelmed, etc. In the show I noticed Leo actually has a consistent aversion to anything with a gross texture too: like in the first episode when they’re all sliding down Draxum’s vines and he’s tripping over himself, the only one bothered by them “I hate this!”
He also starts flailing in a panic after a worm jumps on his face (and do I even need to bring up how the texture of worms aint all that enjoyable let alone on your face), recoils when that evil Hidden City massage guy pours hair serum all over his head, and he’s the most visibly repulsed when Raph gets trash all over them in the beginning of Battle Nexus: New York. So on multiple occasions he comes off as pretty texture or germ averse as well
Both also have insecurity issues about their role to the team: “If mystics can do everything I can but better then why would you guys even need me?” “I’m nothing without them!”
Ironically, in Many Unhappy Returns, Splinter thinks Leo doesn’t know what he’s doing and isn’t taking the mission seriously, saying he should’ve brought Purple. But in the same episode during fights with Shredder Donnie’s seen texting on his phone half of the time. Which is also very parallel to Leo making quips in the beginning instead of helping fight like Donnie and the others
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In that same fashion, Donnie’s also goofiest when everyone’s acting serious in Insane in the Mama Train, while Leo’s the unserious one in the following episodes. Another role reversal from their norm
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The show also portrays these two as feeling the most affected by Splinter’s history of emotionally distant parenting. Donnie constantly talks about his unmet need for parent-aged-adult approval/validation, and Leo shows his struggle in a more Leo-like way, constantly finding father figure connections in other people like Jupiter Jim and The Dunk. He also rejects/roasts Splinter a lot too, which seems more like a form of overcompensation; acting like he doesn’t totally need or crave Splinter’s attention. The exact opposite of Donnie’s methods. “No! I’m not going back to what’s-his-rat.”
“He’s my all-time favorite actor/role model/father figure!”
“That eccentric billionaire, who was kind of a surrogate father figure to me, has shown me a version of myself I don’t like.”
Leo acts like he doesn’t pine for his affection. I’m sure he sees the way Donnie openly, desperately goes after it when it’s offered and then gets crushed even harder with disappointment (ahem Turtle-dega Nights). No way Leo’s opening himself up to that. I mean come on how sad is the moment when Splinter says they should do something together and Mikey is so eager to jump on the opportunity before it gets taken away, only for Donnie to have to pull him aside and remind him it’s usually some kind of trick or he’s likely possessed? Just for Mikey to immediately respond, “You’re right, I always fall for this!” Ouch. Honestly considering Mikey’s empathy and emotional maturity in mind, the reason both he and Raph seem to handle Splinter’s lack of attention so well is probably also because in addition Raph became a second parent himself, and taking on that role like Splinter, he knows from his own experience that even though their dad doesn’t show it in the ways they wish he would, of course he loves them and what he does do to take care of them as a parent proves that
I think the parallels and direct contrasts between how Leo and Donnie show their dissatisfaction in their relationship with Splinter is probably the most developed and interesting one to me 💔
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean Leo’s the only one who would actually say something like this to Splinter and you can’t tell me there’s not some deep-seated resentment in the way he looks and the way he says it…
So yeah. There’s the sad edition of Disaster Twins parallels. Let’s all cry together 😃

The Amazing Digital Circus Ep. 4 - Thoughts on Gangle
As I said before I’m a big “themes” guy and I was making some connections while watching the newest ep. Here are my thoughts on how Gangle’s character design visually represents a lot of what she goes through in this episode, and how this ep expanded on her inner world and coping skills.
Spoilers Ahead
And disclaimer: I don’t care if you think this is obvious and I don’t care if you think it’s not that deep.
Now:
There are two main elements of this last episode I wanna talk about - Gangle’s masks and the setting being a fast food place.
Gangle is a ribbon body with two different faces, a tragedy mask and comedy mask. She takes on the emotions of whichever mask she’s wearing as soon as she puts it on, meaning she’s either at an extreme joyful high or an extreme depressive low. In Ancient Greece where the tragedy and comedy masks were rumored to originate, actors would wear them to better telegraph those emotions to audience members sitting far away (this is relevant). What’s especially interesting to me is that Gangle wears one on top of each other, making it so when she’s hit hard or stumbles her comedy mask shatters and reveals her tragedy mask underneath.
Tumblr media
To the actual episode, I believe the reason Gangle acts the way she does is because she knows at the beginning the new mask doesn’t change her but she’s trying to make it work. I think that she was the one who suggested the fast food adventure at some point because it’s familiar to her (she was a manager in her normal life) and she took initiative in being the manager again because she wanted to engage in that very grounded kind of experience. Day to day in the Digital Circus is intense and abstract, I feel like she wanted a chance to feel normal again, and working customer service provides that sense of complete mundanity.
Here’s when I really begin to enjoy the way the masks represent Gangle’s coping method. This new mask she wears through out the episode is the face she puts on to hold it together. It’s possible to mask mostly for yourself, and people often do, but for a lot of people masking is solely for the benefit of *other people’s comfort*. She’s putting on the mask to get work done. When she wears it she’s upbeat, she’s assertive, she holds people accountable, and she’s got a “can-do-it” attitude the bosses probably love. But something’s really off about her to everyone else. They know she’s not typically assertive and the way she’s behaving feels unnatural to them, but she steps into a leadership role here for the sake of engaging in this fast food role play. So she can feel “normal” even if only temporarily. This is my projection, but I think one of the reasons Jax and Ragatha’s comments cut her so deeply was because she’s not behaving that way because it’s authentic to who she is. She’s doing it to hold things together. For the benefit of everyone else and the "company".
My favorite parts of this episode were the moments of monotony and the bits of silence where the relative normalcy of the situation just hangs. Watching that clock stand still, the changes in lighting throughout the day, the quietness at closing. It brings out a side of everyone I really like to see especially in Gangle. Gangle's emotional center *is* this food joint, this stale representation of "normalcy". In the Digital Circus she's forced to inhabit two emotional extremes every hour of every day. It makes sense that she desires a neutral ground, and the fast food place she used to work might be the only way she can conceptualize that. The setting is corporate, impersonal, and monotonous, but also familiar and has clear policies for how to behave. While she’s here, Gangle *presents* herself as feeling less extreme and upbeat, but that presentation isn’t true to her, and it’s certainly not healthy.
It's worth noting, given the context that Gangle's dream was to be a comic artist, the fast food place can also represent "normal" in the sense that it's a "normal job", an honest job, a stable job. Here Gangle is a normal, honest, stable person mentally and emotionally. Or at least that's likely what she told herself in the real world when she really had to show up every day and play the role perfectly at the risk of a write up.
As the day goes on we see more and more cracks in her armor, and while this new mask won’t break it doesn’t change the fact that she’s still got the tragedy mask hiding underneath. What really saves her from going to a very dark place fast is the fact that Zooble and Pomni recognize what’s going on with her and step in to offer her a bit of relief. I’d argue that so far Zooble and Pomni are the most honest of the cast, with Zooble being a bit more jaded. When Pomni offers to close for Gangle she’s basically giving her permission to drop the act. She allows Gangle to walk out the restaurant, where she’s not being held hostage by her coworkers or customers or the threat of corporate punishment, and feel at the intensity she needs to feel at. Zooble essentially reassures her that she’s wanted in the group even at her emotional lows.
I like the insight this provided into everyone’s character. Ironically I think what’s revealed about Zooble in this ep is more interesting to me than what we learned in the last one. I like knowing how these people treat each other under certain circumstances. It’s subtle and welcomes interpretation. love what they did with Gangle’s character, I like the way they wrapped this one up, and girl I hope you

i gotta know, how to the bodies communicate for trumpets
because we already know that towers use radio waves, do trumpets use similar methods? or something slower than light? that could be interesting where they think just as complex as we can, it's just slower because (based on the scale of chariot in the planets post) it could take a few seconds at near light speeds to send a signal from one side to the other and trumpets are planet-wide collective intelligences
idk idk, i just wanna know how that works, i love your aliens and trumpets seem untalked about, which is a shame
On Trumpet performance language
Trumpets have evolved by using their nodes’ behaviors rather than overriding them. Interpersonal language is applied instinctual displays from nodal species. The timing, actor positions relative to other actors, and viewing angle influence the meaning of a concert’s performance.
Since trumpet acted language and written language evolved independently, they don’t have a strong correlation until organized society much later, when performances begin needing records, and records begin needing to be read by trumpets other than the author.
On memory
Trumpets store information using the collective memories of the flora and fauna that live on them: nodes.
Sessile organisms take in memories, relay information, and listen for inquiries. Their memory is dense and quickly readable, something similar to computer RAM.
Motile nodes can also store memory, but due to their minds being preoccupied with processing their experiences and placing priority on relevant knowledge, they aren’t reliable for long term storage since they are susceptible to compromise (like putting your valuables in a box out in a room rather than in the garage.)
In exchange for holding onto valuable experience, the sessile nodes get protected and propagated.
How Trumpets regulate their ecosystem
Predators of the system kill their prey in a controlled, instant way. Prey nodes designated for eating have no fear, and live healthy lives prior.
In return, predator nodes provide herbivores with information and protection from non-trumpets.
Since herbivore nodes have an equally powerful say in the decisions of predators, they have selected for individuals with weaker prey drives towards nodes used for computation.
Trumpets cycle their resources in a methodical, efficient way to allow the minds of all nodes to focus on communicating.
The same goes for vegetation. Since they hold memories, they grow nutrient rich, dataless crops for herbivores to eat instead of anything vital.
A trumpet may involuntarily alter the ratios of node types, but only in emergencies. Think of adrenaline, or inflammation from isolation. A panicking trumpet who fears for its safety can birth more predator nodes, but will need to devote energy to sowing more food soon. Trumpets prefer homeostasis in their ecosystems.
Nearly all of the nutrients the trumpet cycles start from the large autotrophic body who photosynthesizes and filter feeds, then distributes its resources into organisms that subsist commensally or formerly parasitically on it. The trumpet allots for them and is not harmed.
Many of these sessile organisms are descendants of jet propulsed lineages and can still move around (think of anemones).
Tools
Trumpets develop tools by breeding for species or species’ byproducts. Knives were among the first inventions through the extended mouthparts of small, portable nodes. Technology is spread via sharing studs.
Loneliness at the edge of language density
Trumpets are unable to integrate aliens into their biology, but do enjoy talking with groups of aliens (to account for language density).
The sophonts most capable of communicating with trumpets with minimal resources (excluding life support, which would make them one of the most resource intensive) are boxkites, who have a fractal sense of individuality—a group of individuals together is as singular as one individual alone.
A group of 30 boxkites can maintain a conversation with a trumpet, since each boxkite can establish tactile communication with up to 4 simultaneous partners, combining processing power.
To answer your question
Trumpets communicate using lasers produced via nodes with gas bladders and electric organs.
They are quick thinkers, but their perception of time a ‘train of thought’ is more fluid than ours.
Depending on the species of the node, stimuli are observed at different rates, density, and types.
Trumpets are capable of having multiple simultaneous lines of thought by directing nodes to communicate within clusters.
On focus
A trumpet’s focus is its priority on nodes facing novel situations or issues.
If the group of nodes are small sensory prey, information intake becomes rapid and perceptive capacity grows with it.
If the focus is on a sessile node who’s registering a gradual increase in food scents, perceptive ability decreases as more priority is placed on the nodes who can report vital information at any moment, but not very densely or quickly.
Trumpets can have multiple foci at once, but since their total mental bandwidth is finite, all foci add up to the total communicative capacity of the trumpet.
Trumpets can theoretically evenly distribute their focus to every node, but it would be nearly impossible to make decisions more complex than reflexes and first-come-first-serve communication between nodes, meaning valuable messages are given as much weight as run-of-the-mill reports. This is a stupor state for trumpets.
On the other end, putting total communicative priority on a single node will mean any report of the focus will interrupt all other channels, like national alerts on television. This tunnel vision state is also unproductive, only approached by trumpets who have extreme distrust.
First contact
Trumpets were contacted by a team of crowns who detected a living presence on the trumpet homeworld.
The first trumpets contacted were a community. Due to the lack of infrastructure and the sheer size of the planet, a portion of the total trumpet population is still learning about the first contact years later. Languages have been deciphered and a peaceful, minimal presence is established for researchers.
Oz is one of the trumpets who learns about the first contact a little while after it happens. He’s skeptical, and dismisses the aliens’ small and quiet operations. He establishes himself as to not be bothered—alien organizations have agreed to leave trumpets alone upon their requests.
Trumpets are buoyant and carried by the wind. The largest body is free floating, but may be (slowly) thrusted manually by jet-propelled nodes.
More on Boxkite group language
Gal the boxkite is only capable of casually communicating with one partner at a time, two if she strains herself.
Even talking with one partner, boxkite tactile language is very dense.
Humans and other sophonts can equip touch pad translators on their bodies for boxkites to type on. The translated messages can be linked to a speaker or earpiece.
Infant boxkites aggregate in groups to compensate for their limited individual cognitive ability.

A3! Main Story: Part 4 - Act 13: Budding Spring - Episode 21: Even Though We're Apart
Tumblr media
Member: Sakuma-kun, if you’re gonna stay here, can I ask you to lock up?
Sakuya: Yes! Good work today!
Member: Good work~
[Door closes]
Sakuya: Whew… Once more from the top…
[Door opens]
Head of the theater company: Hm? Sakuma-kun, you’re still here.
Sakuya: H-Hello.
Head of the theater company: Is the sword fight this time really that hard?
Sakuya: No— But sword fights are kind of my weak point, so I wanted to make sure it’s thoroughly polished…
Sakuya: Also, my next role is a young man who works as a bodyguard, so I thought I could also use this as practice for that…
Head of the theater company: So that’s how it is. You really love MANKAI Company.
Sakuya: They’re my family, and my only home.
Head of the theater company: I think I get where you’re coming from.
Head of the theater company: The members of a theater company need to communicate closely, so they feel a little different from other friends.
Head of the theater company: Alright– I’ll practice with you.
Sakuya: Are you sure?
Head of the theater company: If you polish your sword fighting, it’ll be good for our performance too.
Sakuya: Thank you so much! I’ll be in your care!
-
Head of the theater company: By the way, did I ever tell you why I chose you for this guest role?
Sakuya: Hm? No, not really–
Head of the theater company: As an actor, you’re not really the dexterous type, right?
Head of the theater company: But you’ve got a bright, honest soul that made me think you’d suit this role.
Head of the theater company: I guess that’s what they call a sunny personality. That’s why I wanted you to play this role.
Sakuya: A sunny personality…?
Head of the theater company: That’s not really the kinda thing you can evaluate on yourself, is it.
Sakuya: I don’t think it is…
Sakuya: But, when I stand on stage with another theater company, I get to study different acting methods, and learn more about myself as an actor!
Head of the theater company: I’m glad you think so. If you can learn even one thing from this experience, I’d be happy too.
Sakuya: Yes!
-
Sakuya: Whew...
Sakuya: (I think I pushed myself a bit too hard… My legs are turning into jelly.)
Sakuya: (But thanks to someone watching over my practice, I think I improved a lot.)
Sakuya: (I’ll review the video I took later.)
Sakuya: (Oh, I wonder if the others are using the chat?)
Saku has entered the chat tsuzuru: oh. sakuya’s here too UC: Good work today. To Rorr: good curry! Curry: i wanna eat the director’s curry… tsuzuru: you get homesick quick To Rorr: that’s like curry cannibalism! UC: Everyone except Chigasaki is here.
Sakuya: (Seeing everyone talk here relaxes me. I feel like I went back to the dorm.)
tsuzuru: sakuya? are you reading? Saku: Yes!  I’ve been practicing my sword fighting until now! tsuzuru: ohh, that’s our sakuya To Rorr: whom is the performance? tsuzuru: *when this looked so normal i almost let it go Saku: We’re starting tomorrow UC: Do your best. Curry: be careful not to get muscle cramps on your legs Saku: I gotta be careful about that. I’ll get a good massage To Rorr: itaru is rarely ever on UC: He’s probably busy. Unlike the guy I’m accompanying. tsuzuru: still, this app is different from lime, and it feels like we’re all in the same room. it’s pretty good Saku: I thought so, too! Even though we’re apart, I feel like I returned to the dorm To Rorr: this kind of complexion is good too! Curry: *communication?

[Kitto Exclusive Interview] DKZ JAECHAN with Two Faces : An Idol and an Actor
Tumblr media
JAECHAN, as you reflect on 2024 and wrap up the year, could you share any keywords that come to mind when thinking about "2024"?
"Learning" and "Growth." This year, I was involved in filming many dramas, including Bitter Sweet Hell (original title: 우리, 집), My Sweet Mobster (original title: 놀아주는 여자), and Check in Hanyang (original title: 체크인 한양). I learned a lot while working alongside various senior actors, and with each shoot, I discovered more enjoyment in acting. In the past, I used to overthink things before filming, but this year, I realized, "Acting can be this fun!" I also enjoyed synchronizing with my co-stars, and I found joy in the process of discovering my character while reading the script. I feel like that process has become smoother compared to before. It was a year where I learned many ways to enjoy the filming experience while making the most out of the set.
What is the most memorable event of 2024 for you? Hmmm… (JAECHAN pauses to think) The most memorable would have to be my birthday. The day before my birthday, I had a fan meeting, and on the actual day, I went home and ate a meal that my mother had prepared. To be honest, I never really liked birthdays that much before. I used to think of them as just another passing day. But since around last year, I've started looking forward to them.
Was there a special reason that made you start enjoying your birthday? I'm not really sure… I just feel like I've come to like it. My family, my fans, and my close friends all celebrate it with me, and thanks to that, I think my excitement for it has grown.
Tumblr media
Check-in Hanyang marks your first attempt at a historical drama. Did you have a lot of concerns about taking on this genre? When I was first cast, I was worried about the traditional language used in historical dramas. However, after talking with the director, I learned that my character, "Go Sura," didn’t need to use the rigid, formal language typical of historical dramas. That significantly eased my burden. Instead, since Sura is a strong-willed character, I focused a lot on how to effectively portray his passion and energy.
How similar do you think you and Go Sura are? One difference between us is that I am quite intuitive and spontaneous. I tend to act on impulse when traveling somewhere or buying things. On the other hand, Sura is a very methodical person—when he decides to do something, he studies diligently and sticks to a strict schedule. While this aspect isn’t explicitly shown in the drama, in my mind, Sura is the type to meticulously plan his studies and even follow a fixed mealtime routine. Though we differ in that regard, I still found many similarities between us. Sura has a strong ambition and determination to succeed. He understands his goals and puts in maximum effort to achieve them. I, too, am passionate and relentless when it comes to things I want to do or improve at, so in that sense, I think we are quite similar.
Since you have a spontaneous personality, did you find it stressful to play such a methodical character like Sura? I wouldn’t say it was stressful, but because Sura is so structured, I tried to become more organized myself. I approached studying the script and analyzing Sura’s character in a very systematic way—just as Sura would study.
After all that effort, do you feel like the gap between you and Sura has narrowed? No, not really (laughs). In the end, I just went back to being myself.
While playing Sura, what aspect of his character did you like the most? What I love about Sura is that he puts his whole heart into everything he does. But within that dedication, there are also moments where he’s a bit clumsy, and that makes him even more endearing. He takes everything seriously, but his little awkward or adorable moments add to his charm.
I heard that you’re good at giving names to things. If you were to give Sura a nickname, what would it be? Oh, I tend to keep names really simple (laughs). I think I’d just call him "Passionate" Go Sura.
When you take on a role, the character’s personality and thoughts can sometimes linger even after filming ends. Do you feel like Sura has left any lasting impression on you? I don’t fully carry over a character’s traits once a role ends. When I build a character, aside from the key personality traits that are already set, I try to make them as close to myself as possible. For example, if Sura is a character full of passion, then aside from that passion, I try to shape him in a way that resembles me. So by the time filming ended, I felt like Sura and I had become a bit more alike.
Tumblr media
When did the filming for Check in Hanyang begin? Filming started around late April or early May this year. Since we shot in many different locations, I feel like I’ve been to almost all of Korea’s most beautiful scenic spots.
Were there any particular places or foods that left a strong impression on you? Andong’s Hanok Village was truly beautiful. Also, the beef galbi I had in Andong was absolutely delicious. If I get the chance to visit Andong again, I will definitely go back to that restaurant.
Experiencing Hanyang’s historical culture for the first time through this drama must have been refreshing. What stood out to you the most? The episodes that take place at Yongcheonru left a strong impression on me. In modern terms, Yongcheonru wasn’t just an ordinary place that anyone could visit—it was like a top-tier luxury hotel. The interior setting and the decorations were so intricately and beautifully designed that I was really amazed by them.
Was it difficult to film in hanbok during the summer? The weather made it challenging. But the outfits were so beautiful, and I think the way my hair was styled suited me well. Many people told me that I looked good in hanbok, so aside from the difficulties due to the weather, overall, it was a great experience.
Viewers are also curious about the chemistry between you and your co-stars in Check in Hanyang. Is there a romantic storyline for your character this time? Rather than focusing on a romance with one specific character, the drama highlights the relationships within the Haona Four. Among them, Lee Eunho, Hong Deoksoo, and Jeong Junhwa have romantic storylines, but I do not. My character, Sura, focuses on friendship instead. He strongly desires success alongside his friends, so he constantly encourages them, saying, "Let’s do our best, let’s keep going," while also supporting their romantic developments.
Did you reference any other works while preparing for this drama? I thought the atmosphere was similar, so I used Sungkyunkwan Scandal as a reference. The latter half of Check in Hanyang is quite different from Sungkyunkwan Scandal, but I especially drew inspiration from the early parts of the drama.
Tumblr media
You mentioned that you tend to buy things impulsively. Have you made any spontaneous purchases recently? About a week ago, I almost made an impulsive purchase but ended up canceling it after thinking it through. It was a mop vacuum cleaner. I already have both a vacuum and a mop at home, but I thought having a mop vacuum might make cleaning a bit easier. However, I quickly realized, "If I put in just a little effort, I can clean just fine without it," so I canceled the order. I wouldn’t say I have an obsession with cleaning, but I do like to keep things tidy, so I try to maintain a clean environment as much as possible.
I heard from the staff that you go to three different gyms. Yes, I use three gyms: one that's open 24 hours, so I can go even at 5 AM; one with a sauna; and one that's really close to my house. I don’t remember exactly when this started, but over time, I naturally ended up using multiple gyms. This way, I eliminate excuses for not working out. For example, if all three gyms closed at 11 PM, I might use that as an excuse not to go after that time. But with different options, I always have a place to work out. Also, if a gym closes at 11 PM, I would have to make sure I go by 9 PM, but I’m not good at planning ahead like that. I’m the type of person who needs to go whenever I feel like it. Since I dislike and struggle with strict planning, this system works best for me.
Do you go to the gym almost every day? I used to go every day, but in December, with all the year-end commitments, I haven’t been able to go as often. Still, I try to go whenever I can.
Compared to before, your physique has changed a lot. Yes, since I started working out, I’ve gained about 10 kg. I’ve been training hard and eating a lot. In the past, I used to lose weight by eating less, but nowadays, even when I’m dieting, I make sure to eat three proper meals a day. I find that much more enjoyable.
It's great to see the results of your consistent efforts—your transformation looks healthy and disciplined. I think when you reach your mid-20s, you naturally start wanting to have a more masculine physique (laughs). That’s why I started working out seriously, and it’s been bringing me a lot of positive effects.
Tumblr media
What emotion best represents your 2024? That would also be "passion." This applies to my learning process in acting as well—I’ve been eager to learn and take on many challenges. While preparing for the drama Check In Hanyang, I started taking regular acting lessons for the first time.
Did you personally request acting lessons from your agency? Yes, I did. I wanted to keep improving in acting for the long term.
Besides acting lessons, have you developed any new hobbies or interests recently? I haven’t found a new hobby yet, but I’m actively looking for one. Now that I have some time to rest, I realized that I need new hobbies or interests. When I was focused on work, I didn’t really notice it, but now I want to try something new. I’d like to learn tennis or try cycling again—I used to enjoy cycling when I was a kid.
How about learning a new language? I feel like I don’t have a talent for languages. I’m interested, but it’s not easy for me to start. Since I spent more time on acting, singing, and dancing than studying when I was younger, I might have developed a bit of fear toward academic learning.
Have you ever traveled to Japan alone? Not alone, but I recently visited Japan with friends.
In DKZ’s YouTube original content, you seemed to have a great time exploring Tokyo by yourself. I’m not the type to plan trips in advance—I just go wherever I feel like at the moment. But somehow, things always work out (laughs). That’s why even if I travel without a plan, I always have fun and return with great experiences.
Do you have many friends with an MBTI J type (structured/planning-oriented)? I think I have a few. Since I’m an P type (spontaneous), I tend to listen to my friends’ suggestions a lot (laughs).

Have any of your daily habits changed after meeting different characters through acting? That’s a difficult question. I don’t think anything has changed significantly. If something did change, I believe it wasn’t because of a character in a drama but rather due to my own decision.
Is there a moment in your life that you’d like to preserve as a lasting work? Maybe when I turn 25 next year. I feel like 25 will be the coolest age in my life. There’s no special reason, but ever since I was a kid, I thought that turning 25 would truly make me feel like an adult, so I’ve been looking forward to it. I’ve always believed that 25 is the coolest age, and I’m working hard to make that a reality.
What are you doing to make 25 a "cool" age for yourself? Exercising is part of it, and I’m also dedicating myself to studying acting.
You said you want to preserve your 25-year-old self as a work—what specific moments from that age would you like to keep? I want to capture myself managing my work well while also enjoying my hobbies and having fun when it’s time to play. I want to leave behind a version of myself that has worked even harder and grown in every aspect.
Tumblr media
What is your favorite time of day? I like the quiet morning hours because I can focus well during that time.
Now that filming has finished, it’s past 8 p.m. What do you usually do at this time during the winter? At this time? In winter, I tend to go to bed earlier. So, I sleep a lot during the winter.
Is there anything you keep around to ensure a good hibernation? A humidifier, underfloor heating, and a boiler.
Tumblr media
Are there any genres or roles you would like to challenge yourself with as an actor in the future? In terms of genre, I would like to challenge myself in the dark noir genre. As for roles, I would love to play a villain. I've thought about what it would be like if I played the role that Im Siwan-sunbae portrayed in the Netflix series Unlocked.
You mentioned that you are spending December leisurely, but it seems like you are busier than anyone else this December. Today you have a photo shoot, a fan meeting the day before your birthday, Check in Hanyang is airing, and your album is also scheduled to be released at the end of December. Are there any additional events you hope for or are looking forward to in the remaining December? I don't have any particular events or expectations for additional events. I like to go with the flow, and since the album will be released and the drama is airing, I just want to participate in any good opportunities that come up and enjoy them. Right now, I'm focusing on the drama and the album.
Tumblr media
For the DKZ year-end project that will be released at the end of the year, it seems that each member decided on their role. Could you give us a little spoiler about the role you took on for that project? The year-end project isn't a big project; it's more like a self-made preparation where we give a small gift to our fans. There's no special spoiler, but I was in charge of the photo shoot for the members. I took pictures of the members with an ordinary camera. Since we have a relaxed relationship, I think both the members and I were able to take the photos in a comfortable atmosphere.
Were there many A-cuts? As for A-cuts, that's not for me to decide, but the members will make that judgment (laughs).
If you had the chance to choose a role again, what position would you like to take on within the team? Since I originally did composition, it might be fun to try composing again.
Tumblr media
Looking back on today’s photoshoot, choose the perfect background music for the concept. Is there a song you’d like listeners to hear while viewing today’s photos of Jaechan? I’d choose Pink Sweat$'s "Honesty." This song is very relaxing, so you can listen to it without thinking about anything and just unwind. I think it suits today’s photo concept as well.
Can you express how you feel now after the photoshoot using an emoji? "☺️" It’s an emoji with a very calm expression. The eyes are slightly squinted, and the cheeks are a little rosy. That’s how I feel in winter — things pass by quietly, even without anything special happening.
Finally, could you share your goals for the future as a member of DKZ, as an actor, and as a person named Park Jaechan? As a member of DKZ, my goal is, of course, to show more music and better performances. This year, we weren't able to perform much on stage, so next year I want to stand on more stages. As an actor, I’ve just started to understand how to approach acting, so in my next project, I want to show a more developed version of myself, continuing to grow as an actor. As Park Jaechan, I just want to live happily and do what I love. It’s fine to go with the flow and not feel pressured to do something, so I want to live happily.

15 Questions For 15 Mutuals Even Though No One Likes Me Enough To Tag Me Lmao
1. Are you named after anyone?  Yeah, I was named after an actress from the nineties who my dad had a ‘crush’ on lmao, for a long time they decided on something else for me, but after I was born my dad went ‘let’s name her a after that actress’ and they went along with it 🤷‍♀️
2. When was the last time you cried?  This is low-key kinda ridiculous, but I saw a fake, AI trailer for a new twilight film and I got so excited I started texting everyone I knew who liked twilight only for them to tell me it was fake and I started bawling 😭 idk if I was hormonal cuz the light switch was on or if it was cuz I love twilight sm
3. Do you have kids?  Nope! But I hope to have them when I’m older! Actually, in lockdown I saw this video of a teen mum and she was showing her morning routine with her sim, and my idiot brain was like ‘I wanna get pregnant’ cuz I liked how her room was set out or somet 😭
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?  Girl, if I don’t use sarcasm then it’s either a really serious situation or I’m sick, when do I not use it lmao. My mums been yelling at me to stop and I’ve promised her I won’t 😚

8. Any special talents? Well, i have quite a few! Like I said, I used to do gymnastics but I wasn’t the most flexible, however, I was more flexible in different ways! I can bend my thumb back to touch my arm, when I’m sitting I can twist my legs so the back of my thighs are facing up and my knees are facing down, when I stretch my arms to make them straight the elbow goes forward, I guess like this ➡️ > (left arm) < (right arm), I can wrap my whole arm around my head, and that’s it I guess!!
9. Where were you born?  UK 🇬🇧
10. What are your hobbies?  I am a passionate singer, and in school I was always singing in every production/musical possible! I have been told I’m very good, but there’s still things I need to work on like my breath control and more whistle notes, but I’m getting there!! I also love to dance and learn Kpop dances (my favourite dance is actually Thunderous by Stray Kids!), and I love to draw (Yes, I got that hate comment saying ‘NeVeR dRaW aGaIn’ but that was cause I drew in anime, which isn’t my strong point, realism is, you don’t believe me? See my unfinished Olivia Rodrigo drawing on my blog!) I’m also an avid video gamer, I make edits of my favourite shows (mainly the tudors rn), I also like acting, and I like doing mine, my friends and family’s makeup or experimenting with new makeup looks, hacks, methods and products!
11. Do you have any pets?  Yes!! I have a dog, and I used to have 3 hamsters but they died, 2 Guinea pigs who we gave to my mums friends daughter because we moved and didn’t have room for them, but they’re in good health, and 2 cats who technically aren’t my pets but I classify them as mine.

                  "Acting Then and Now "
It was December of 2013, my first play since 6th grade. I’d been studying "the Method" at this small class on the corner of 38th and 8th. I was going consistently for about 4 months and then there was a point when just taking classes wasn’t enough. At first I told myself that I wanted to try an acting class, just once, then I went a few more times, then I was hooked. I decided I’m going to commit to this class every week. I hated my job, I was working the front desk and making mistakes constantly. I was really green and had desires to be an artist but I wasn't sure what my craft was yet.
Stuck in depression, I was living in Bedstuy then moving to Chinatown with my two friends. Then this audition popped up and I made a fake resume saying I acted in a bunch of New York Film Academy films and got the audition. Now this was unlike any audition and it was one of my first ones. I think I went to a couple auditions in a proper studio before this one. The playwright was new to playwriting  and didn’t have the funds to rent a space for rehearsals. We met at a coffee shop. She just really wanted to meet me and talk about the play.
She told me a little bit about the character I was playing and then says, "okay we‘re gonna have a conversation. I’m going to ask you a few questions about yourself but you are "Dylan" the character." So I tried  it. I put on a New York accent and answered questions. She was from Harlem, she lived near the park, she hated school, she loved her friends, she didn’t know what she wanted to do with her life besides having a dog, but she knew she didn’t wana be miserable. With the little bit of info I had of Dylan I answered all her questions truthfully and I got the part. We had exactly a month to put on the show.
It was a 20 minute play and it was the director's first play as she was a poet. I had the most lines and my heart was beating so fast. At that time I had extreme anxiety, had acne, I was single, and was in a lot of student loan debt, making a really low hourly wage. I was insecure and had to prove myself after college, in the "real world" that I could do something with my life.
I had a job, cheap rent in chinatown, a bike to get me everywhere I needed to go,  and acting made me so enthusiastic about life. I told everyone. I’m an actor! I’m in a play! I’m in a play on 42nd street at the Manhattan Repertory Theater. It’s my first play called “Deuce of Diamonds”.
It was such a process to get this show done. I changed my schedule to work mornings so I could rehearse at night. I was really trained and a rehearsaholic. Which if you have that in you, it can really carry the other performers who might be under-rehearsed and not on their game. Energy attracts energy to get us all to the same level. We would rehearse in places like starbucks, top floor of burger king, my friend's apartment, and lastly an actual acting studio with cheap rates. I would also see my teacher and do privates to make sure I did my very best at performing.
Then it was show time. I really promoted it, my family came and all my friends from NJ. Some college friends too. I was so anxious behind the curtain waiting to go on. I go on stage and it's lights up. People were sitting on the stage because there wasn't enough room for them in the audience. As soon as the lights come on I see my dad’s face right in front of me. I had to say my first line and there it was. All the nervousness stoppped and we were in it. I did what my mom told me to do at 11 years old which was, know everybody's lines. That way you can never mess up, because if they miss a beat you can pick it up. That's what I did and every night I got the adrenaline, the natural high, and it was such a good experience. I was hooked and knew this is what I'm meant to do with my life.
Now 10 years later in a theater two blocks away from the Manhattan Repertory Theater that was closed down due to covid. I was part of a different play. I haven't done theater in 4 years since 2019. The last one I did on stage was Romeo and Juliet in Hollywood. I got casted for a comedy show. There was about 10 of us playing multiple characters. I was in a scene called speed dating and the finale called 5 actors walk into a bar. We met every Monday, Wed, and Fri for 3 hours to rehearse. Most of the memorizing had to be at home. I was so nervous and had a lot of self doubt. On my Off-Book day; the day you're not allowed to use the script anymore; I completely bombed the rehearsal. I yelled line 10x and my scene partners carried me through the last scene. Although it was embarassing, atleast it wasn't on stage and it made me study and learn the entire play. Everyone's lines. As much as possible, so there is little to no error and I wouldn't embarass myself on stage.
The parallel of it being 10 years later where I'm at a theater near my first one and working at the same hotel just a different company now. I'm wiser, better, much older, and am still the same in some ways. It was show day and I knew my boyfriend was going to be there and a couple friends but not sure who. Our call time was 2 hours before the performance and I was grateful for the extra rehearsal time. The scene I was in was called speed dating, it was super fast and each line went right after the other. So if you mess up it's very very noticeable. My part was more towards the end so the nervousness doesn't leave you until you get on stage and do your thing. The lines are connected and go after one another so I can see where we are and I know what mistakes I made in the past, and I know to not repeat them. Every time I corrected a mistake with my lines I made in rehearsal my heart felt lighter. I could tell where we were in the script and how it would be over soon. Once I said my last line, it was then where I felt like, yes I nailed it, and then I had a 5 minute break before the next scene I was in. It's so much focused enery and the key to theater is to be really present. We all can feel eachother's energy.
When people laugh, you know you did a good job. Nothing feels like that experience and I said it was probably the most fun I had all year. And I went backpacking all winter to the coolest places. But those couple hours on stage doing my best at something like comedy in front of an audience. I have so much pride in it and you can feel you did a good job. My friends said they like the fact that I don't over act. That when I'm acting on stage they feel as if I'm being what I am in life Now, that's the real craft. Because what we learn is acting isn't being other characters. It's being truthful in the moment to the particular circumstances you're given. That's when can relate. That's when it's actually good.

𝓞𝓫𝓮𝔂 𝓜𝓮! 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓛𝓪𝓷𝓰𝓾𝓪𝓰𝓮 𝓗𝓒𝓼
Warning: Mostly fluff (a little angst in mammons kinda? Nothing too sad) but there is nsfw in very small amounts!!
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Lucifer definitely loves acts of service. Both giving and receiving (hehe). He’s a subtle man when out with others. He will do little things for you. Opens the car door, holds your hand delicately when you walk on stairs. He will give you his coat.
“MC stop it. I’m not cold. Put it on right now.”
The only time he will ever beg you to put more clothes on ;) Of course he will love some service in return. Whether you choose to do that by straightening his collar when it’s uneven or letting him face fuck you after a really stressful day ;3
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Mammon is very fond of physical touch. Sure he also loves gifts and spending time with you… but nothing beats your gentle and kind touch. Sometimes he winced just ever so slightly when you reach up to touch his face. This poor (literally lol) baby is head shy.
“Tch. Of course I didn’t flinch. Just… keep t-touching me…”
He deserves someone that will be there to give him a hug and let all of his stress melt off. Sometimes when he has his head on your shoulders, you’ll find little wet spots from his eyes. He will say it’s just allergies, but, he never feels safe enough to cry anywhere else. Sometimes it just slips out. When you notice you tell him
“Mammon. Please let it out. I will hold you until you are ready for me to let go.”
Here come the waterworks. He wont be able to hold back. Your shirt is soaked. Your sleeve is a tissue. But it’s all worth it to see him smile and know he is ready to do the same for you when you need him.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Leviathan loooooooves quality time. There’s nothing he’d rather do than just curl up with you, his tv, and a stack of games. In between games, levels, etc. you will likely end up talking for an hour. He loves hearing about your experiences in the human world. If you have any cool anime or game related stories please tell him.
“Y-YOU MET THE VOICE ACTOR FROM I fell from heaven and became a shut-in, and now I’m in love with a human who is my master?!?!?!!!!?”
He’s so jealous. If you don’t like video games he might whine a little and try to find a game you would like. Saying “you just haven’t found the right game for you”. If you still don’t find anything he would be happy to watch DevilTube with you or watch a show!
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Satan is another quality time lover. Ideally he would love to sit in front of a cozy fire with his love, both reading the same book. With a cat curled up on his lap if possible. If you aren’t a fan of reading he would welcome you to lay in his lap as he reads.
“MC? Would you like to do a puzzle with me?”
I don’t know he seems like a puzzle man. He likes the challenge and the methodical nature. If you don’t want to do that he would definitely have a long list of other activities to do. And if all else fails he will suggest going outside to try and capture a new pet cat.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Asmodeus of course mainly deals in physical touch. He just loves feeling your soft skin, your delicate hands. Tracing your curves and just generally needing to have some contact at all times.
“MCCCC can I style your hair? Can I paint your nails? Can I dress you up??” If you refuse, “Ohhhh you’re just being stubborn. How could I not dress up a perfect doll like you~” (not like you’d refuse anyway)
He will brush your hair and give your shoulders and neck some love too. If it tickles that’s even better. He loves to see you squirm and blush ;)
He will always hold your hand, link your arms, or have an arm around you in public. He wants everyone to see the cutest couple in the universe room :)
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Beelzebub loves gift giving. Whether it’s a dainty necklace he saw that “would look so perfect on you” or a bite of his burger, this man loves showing you his love with little gifts. In his mind, he sees sharing his food as the ultimate signal of “I love you”. He doesn’t do this for anyone. Just for you. You tell him you don’t need gifts to know he loves you.
“I know… I just think about your smile and eyes… and I know it’ll look good on you… so I buy it.”
He’s a big goofy boy. A bit of a himbo in the best way possible. He looks rock hard on the outside (heh) but you can’t see how he melts inside when you smile and light up at certain things. And he gets to see that every time he offers your a bite. (Of his food of course)
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Belphegor loves to give and receive endless amounts of affirmation! He needs to be reminded he is worthy of love and happiness. Most of the time the compliments he gives are in a sleepy haze. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t real. He truly means every word of it.
“Mmm-MC… You are just the most… yawn perfect pillow everrrr. Your body is perfect…”
He’ll definitely have his face buried in either your chest, shoulder, or hair.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Diavolo is definitely a close tie between quality time and affirmations. But in my humble opinion, quality time wins. Because what happens during quality time? Compliments, sweet talk, and affirmations. Hehe. He has it all planned out. He’s genuinely a very lonely character. He desperately wants to have fun with friends. Be carefree and not worry about strict schedules. But that’s not the life that was given to him.
“MC… this week was so tiring. Please, will you come to the castle tonight? I want to… see you…”
He’s always a little embarrassed to act so needy. But he loves when you indulge him a bit. Once you arrive he will immediately pull you into a hug that will last at least 30 seconds. He just takes in your scent. He will quickly pull you away to his room or office for some privacy. He will have his hands all over you once you’re alone. He just missed you so much. Once he calms down it will be a nice night of love and relaxation.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Barbatos = Acts of Service king. He always seems to know exactly what you need. If you are thinking ‘hmm. I’m a little thirsty’ he will likely ask if you need anything to drink in the next five minutes. It’s amazing.
“You must stay hydrated. I did not read your mind. I just know what’s your body needs. Sometimes even more than you do.”
Did that sound a little… weird? Ehh probably not. That’s only one of the many ways he surprises you. He loves to massage you and make you feel good. In return he loves to be babied a bit. He would absolutely never admit this. But. When you let him relax and get off his feet. He begins to relax instantly. Just hold him, let him lay on top of you. Pet his hair, tug on it gently, rub his shoulders and back. Small things like that really mean so much to him.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Simeon is the affirmation master. He knows exactly how to make you blush and smile. He can always find the right words to calm you, pick you up, or just make you smile a little more.
“Are you sure you aren’t an Angel in disguise… it’s uncanny how much you resemble our kind. You even feel like one… So beautiful.”
He will always make you feel like a million dollars. In return tell him how well he’s doing. After all he is in a land that’s not his home, dealing with stressful entities all day. He needs reassured that he’s doing ok.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Solomon will always give you the most thoughtful gifts. He will take the time to find out what you like and dislikes and begin to give you the most wonderful gifts. He is conservative with how often he gives you something. Mostly because if two reasons. 1. He wants it to be more special and exciting. And 2. He’d go broke otherwise. Some of the stuff he gets you is not cheap.
“Anything for you. It’s your birthday. That only happens once a year. Of course I had to go big!”
He will wink and hold you tight against his side as your birthday party (that he organized) goes on. He just loves to spoil his cute apprentice.

Thank you for reading!!

𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝚂𝚃𝙰𝚃𝙴𝚂 𝚂𝚄𝙿𝙴𝚁 𝚀𝚄𝙸𝙲𝙺𝙻𝚈
(for people who take way too long to manifest)
I personally change my mind about my desires a lot: everyday I think of something new that I would like to have and whether its a new skill, an object or a simple meal, I need to quickly change my state in order to shift to a reality where I finally have my desire as soon as possible.
Changing your state requires saturating your mind with the idea that you have your desire already, in order to transform the idea into a subconscious belief and finally, shift into a reality that reflects the new belief.
Affirmations, visualizations, scripting and subliminals are great ways to saturate your mind and make you think like the person that has your desire already, but if what you are trying to manifest requires a deep change of character (whole different mindset, drastic change in behavior and mannerism ecc.), the amount of change that has to happen might feel overwhelming while the classic techniques might feel not quite enough.
When nothing seems to be working, I change my state using a mix of the "thinking as if" and "acting as if" methods.
I have seen many people talking about how acting as if is really overwhelming for them and while I agree that it is not necessary at all, I think that it gives amazing results when nothing else seems to work. At the end of the day manifestation boils down to self-identification (what you think of yourself is what you experience) and in my opinion, getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things that your desired self would normally do without any discomfort, is the first step to break your current cycle and get closer to your new identity.
What I do is I pretend to be an actor that has to channel a new character for a play/movie/series. So, what do actors do to do their job in the best way possible?
1- They do a lot of research on their character. What is it that you want to be? Do you want to be popular, rich, have good grades, have a thick booty... write down everything that you want to be or have, being as honest and unlimited as you can.
2- They think like their character. You should always ask yourself: "how/what would I think if I had this already?" and proceed to think like that. Your new identity should be the person you admire the most and that you deeply inspire to be, think like them
3- They act like their character. Would your new self stand up for themselves or take the disrespect? Would your new self browse the Gucci online store or would they avoid it cuz "they wouldn't be able to afford anything anyways?". It doesn't need to be a lot, you don't need to do things that feel way too uncomfortable, but a little goes a long way. Even doing something as simple as drinking your coffee without scrolling through your phone if that makes you feel more aligned with your new self.
Be unapologetic when being your true self because at the end of the day you are the main character of your reality and nothing should scare you out of trying to be the best version of yourself. If you do feel like there are things that scare you or that you are not good enough to get what you want eradicate those feelings right this instant, focus on your self concept, know that you are the baddest bitch that exists in your reality and that there is nothing stopping you in this multiverse, unless you let it.
Always take what resonates from my posts. This should be your own journey and if you truly believe that what you are doing is the right thing, than it will work no matter what.
Love you all and my dms and questions are always open for clarifications or anything really.

Incoherent scrap of Elisabeth thought for the evening: I've seen a decent amount of discussion about who/what der Tod is - is he an actual entity who happens to fixate on Elisabeth and spends the rest of her life following her around? Is he a manifestation of Elisabeth's - and later Rudolf's - depression, the voice of their self-loathing and suicidal thoughts which has been given a physical form for the play? Is he Lucheni's creation, born of his need to shift the guilt from his own soul - after all, if der Tod was the one pulling all the strings, then Lucheni was just another puppet, just following orders?
I think it depends on the production/actor, and in my favourite German-language Tods, I think at least two - possibly three - of the interpretations are covered.
Uwe Kröger is the first one. His Tod is a real being. He's otherworldly and mystical. He's able to interact with the human world (obviously) but rarely does unless it's time for someone to die. He's not a nice guy, but he's not actively malevolent; kissing people to death just happens to be the reason he exists, so that's what he does. Something about Elisabeth catches his attention and he becomes obsessed. His methods of pursuit are the only ones he knows, and he's not even necessarily aware of the damage done. I absolutely love how Uwe does the act one Schatten; it's this eerie sense of "hmm, it turns out that killing her daughter doesn't make her fall for me. Fascinating creatures, humans." The way he walks and moves onstage, and his appearance in general (particularly the pallor and white-blond hair of the original Vienna version) give an impression of something inhuman and apart.
Máté Kamarás might be another take on option 1. This excellent post sums up the argument for this better than I could do. Like Uwe's, his Tod is real; he just happens to be less ethereal and more emotionally volatile. He's not used to feeling like this about anyone, and when his attempts to woo Elisabeth fail, he lashes out. A lot. His face during der Schleier fällt has this mix of joy and amazement, like he can't quite believe it's finally happening. At first, anyway. Then after the kiss, he suddenly realizes - for the first time - that because he's death, having Elisabeth means losing Elisabeth.
There might be a case for Máté's Tod being Lucheni's invention, but it's a bit weaker. I'm basing this more on a sort of matching chaotic, frantic energy between his Tod and Serkan Kaya's Lucheni in the 2005 proshot that might speak to der Tod being a product of Lucheni's psyche. There's also that one moment during Prolog when Lucheni says that Elisabeth loved Heinrich Heine, and der Tod gives him this (honestly slightly comical) death glare (pun intended). It's a sort of warning, "look, buddy, you may have conjured me as a focus for your guilt, but by doing that you give me power in the story as the master puppeteer. Knock it off with the Heine."
Finally, Mark Seibert's Tod is depression and suicidal ideation made flesh. His Tod is, quite frankly, an absolute bastard. He can be seductive, but it's always with an ulterior motive, and the motive is always cruel. With both Elisabeth and Rudolf, he goes from sweet-talking to physically rough, even violent. He coaxes them to self-destructive behaviours, then scorns them when they self-destruct. He toys with them by letting them think life might be getting better, then moves in to strike. He's around to put a damper on things when Elisabeth thinks she's at her highest (wenn ich tanzen will), and to push her past rock-bottom when she's at her lowest (Totenklage). He can drop Rudolf like a rag doll once he's dead because he never cared for him; he was manipulating him in order to destroy him. Depending on the production, he can leave Elisabeth onstage once she's dead for the same reason. To both Elisabeth and Rudolf, he comes across almost like an abusive, stalking-prone partner. From my own experience, that's a pretty fair description of depression, except that the abusive bastard is your own brain. For what it's worth, it's also a pretty fair description of an eating disorder, which the real Elisabeth definitely had, although it doesn't get more than a passing mention in the show. This might actually be part of the reason I like Mark's Tod so much - the idea that my own depression can be separated from myself.
In the musical overall, there are moments and lyrics that could be evidence for each of the interpretations of der Tod (along with others). Personally, I go back and forth on which I feel is most strongly supported, and I think part of the reason is that different productions and different Tods lean more strongly towards one or another.

i rewatched episode 6 (i like to torture myself) and the scene of wille getting ready to give the statement. it absolutely kills me. how he's so anxious and alone, yet pulls himself together and makes himself do it, does what's expected of him. maybe he thinks it'll be okay, because it's the only way. it'll be even worse if he doesn't do it. and after he puts himself through it, it does get worse 😭
i would love to hear what your favourite scenes are, acting wise!
okay anon i also just rewatched ep 6 also and i am in pain 💔god that build up to him giving the statement, the way his whole resolve just drops in the car as his mum talks him into denying it – the worse thing is like, we know he doesn't believe that it was the only way – we know that he thought that he was going to be able to talk his mum around and get her to understand...
now the acting. this may get hella rambley so i'm going to shove it under the cut because i know the majority of my followers won't care lol <3
edvin's approach to wilhelm's anxiety is most likely my favourite acting aspect of the entire show – it's incredibly nuanced for someone of his age (not in a condescending way bc there's only like 5 years between us lol but like, you hardly see that degree of detail in a way that isn't over played or presented rather than experienced by seasoned Adult Actors). i know he's mentioned previously that it's something he relates to which is very clear in how personalised his work is. when we see wilhelm experience high anxiety it's honest to the moment because it's grounded in truth. he's connected it with his own anxiety and not in a way that lets his own experience do the work (which is method and that's 👎imo) but that it informs the decisions and motions wilhelm goes through in the scenes.
one of my favourite scenes where we see his anxiety manifest is in the scene in episode 5 where wilhelm tells him that he doesn't want to lose him.
Tumblr media
the way he's clearly so distressed at the idea of losing simon that you can hear the emotion in his voice from the beginning of the conversation but as the scene goes on, his resolve begins to crumble and the anxiety he's been holding back comes to the surface when they hug. the way edvin let the anxiety inform the scene rather than direct the scene was so impressive – we can see and feel wilhelm's emotions but they don't take over the scene. omar plays wonderfully off them also and the hug they share is heart wrenching.
Tumblr media
another scene i find myself rewatching over and over is the one where he confronts august in episode 6. immediately when wilhelm walks into the room you can feel the anger and fury radiate off of him. i really love how it wasn't approached as this huge screaming confrontation – whilst his definitely does yell at him (deservingly so) it again doesn't overpower the emotional drive behind the dialogue. wilhelm isn't just angry here – he's heartbroken.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
august was one of wilhelm's last proper connections to erik – we know wilhelm looks up and trust's erik's judgements more so than anyone else so to be betrayed by that, by someone erik loved so much, it's heartbreaking. he was told he could trust him, he was told he would do right by him and he was wrong. all of this pain wilhelm is going through his partly because the queen wants to protect erik's legacy and give his death meaning, and here august completely spat upon it all. edvin does a phenomenal job w the line deliveries, they're clear and devastating and cut right to the heart.
i was going to end the post here, but i'm going to quickly highlight omar's work in The Break Up scene because they both work off of each other beautifully.
Tumblr media
there is such a quiet devastation to omar's line delivery here - simon's clearly heartbroken but he's determined to stand up for himself and stand his ground (i just realised that maybe he took sara's words about letting people piss on him truly to heart). the dialogue comes out slowly and not in a way that drags or is over played for the drama, but for the audience to truly understand how difficult it is for simon to say these things AND how important it is for wilhelm to hear them.
i'm now going to end the post otherwise it's gonna get super long lol and i'm not even sure who else is going to read this but! the acting on this show is phenomenal (particularly from these two) and i could probably write many, many posts about it! it's only been a week since i first watched it and i've watched it through maybe 4 or 5 times since then because i can't get enough of the acting. it's truly something special.
thanks for asking anon! ❤️

the twilight series suddenly makes 100% more sense if you read them under a specific premise that, i contend, is heavily supported by the text:
Much like Amy’s diary in Gone Girl, the books in the Twilight Saga are verbatim reproductions of in-universe diary entries carefully and deliberately created and curated by badass unreliable narrator Bella Swan as a means to achieve immortality.
Prerequisite assumptions:
1) Bella actively and persistently wants to become a vampire, both diagetically and (I contend) non-diagetically. The average vampire novel format often fails to capture realistic human behavior in one highly specific area: the protagonists are frequently mortals who grapple with the choice of whether to become a vampire. This is stupid, because being a vampire would obviously be dope as hell; particularly in the Twilight Universe, where vampires are not required to take a human life to survive, and indeed, have the capacity to live full and rewarding lives while integrated* into the human community.
(*integrated-ish; see Assumption 6)
2. There are too many coincidences for Bella to have encountered the Cullens by sheer chance, only to be the ONE person that Edward can’t live without (due largely to the novelty factor of not being able to read her ding-dang thoughts.)
3. Diagetically, the Volturi don’t even know Bella’s psyonic gifts until New Moon, but we also know that the Volturi scour the globe for recruits to enlist into the protection of their governing body.
4. Nobody wants to be a voiceless cog in a bureaucracy.
5. Nobody, and especially nobody in high school, wants to be a high school student forever.
6. Vampires in twilight are, as a group, cartoonishly terrible at disguising their true nature.
7. Forks is a backwater town approximately 3.5 hours away from the biotech hub of Seattle.
7. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney can eat my farts and they deserve to be preserved in this snapshot of an innocent author’s mind slowly unraveling.
Proposed timeline:
In 1993, there is a key system meltdown at a improvised biohacking startup in Seattle, rendering all innovative genetic modification experiments into a puddle of brown sludge that nobody can figure out how to dispose of per Federal regs, since they don’t even know what it is.
The broke founder of the startup, who for the purposes of this timeline I will call Jeff Bezos because that’s who it was, eventually grows tired of all the discussion about what to do, and just pops it in a barrel, drives a few hours out of town, and dumps it in a pond.
Bella Swan, a small child, is hanging out at a park with her family friend Jacob Black (and a ton of his friends) when they all decide to wade in a slightly murky pond. Thereafter, they are transformed.
Bella grows up as a normal, highly powerful mutant with a +20 to deception checks and wisdom saves. She lives in Arizona, but up until 2002, summers in Forks. While in Forks, she picks up on the local lore about a family of vampires who don’t eat people.
Because Forks (population: 17 + Charlie’s mustache) is boring, Bella bones up on the only interesting thing about it, i.e. Vampire Hometown baybeeeee.
In 2000, George W. Bush gets elected president, and his evangelical politics and general bumbling ineptitude informs Bella’s opinions on authoritative governmental entities.
In 2001, the Cullens make their intention to move back to Forks known, but they take a while because they need to pack all their stupid graduation hats and volvos, etc.
Later in 2001, a psychic Volturi scout rolls through Forks to ensure that nobody within living memory recalls the Cullens, and notices an anomaly in the psychic field.
The scout goes to confront Bella about joining the Volturi, and Bella immediately clocks him as a vampire, because vampires in the Twilight Universe fucking suck at looking/acting human. This leaves the scout in a bind: she’s too valuable to kill, but she’s a pre-teen, and therefore too young to be transformed per Volturi authority.
The scout warns her he’ll have to kill her if she discusses the existence of vampires with any human. He then tells her he’ll be back in five years, and begins to sweet talk her on how good life will be when she’s a vampire, beautiful, immortal, powerful, etc. Bella asks if she has to kill, and dude says “nah, actually there’s a bunch of vegetarian vampires who are moving back here soon. Fucking nerds, but otherwise they’re doing well.” Bella is all about becoming a vampire, because Bella is a rational actor.
Bella moves to Arizona, and as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are unjustifiedly initiated, she recognizes that while she DOES want to be a vampire, she does NOT want to be a foot soldier in any war that she can’t support. She needs a plan.
In 2004, Bella is watching her step-dad’s minor league baseball game when it occurs to her. On her own, she’s a target for the Volturi, but if she had some people to watch her back, she might be okay. Of course, nobody fucks with the Volturi on behalf of some rando human. She’ll need to con her way into a coven who’ll have her back and also give her that +10 to constitution via vampiric transformation, which she desperately wants because she’s a rational actor. And where are the non-volturi vampires that might have her back? Fucking Forks.
Bella moves to Forks in 2004, and upon seeing the Cullens, she immediately clocks them as vampires even though they left their “we’re all vampires booty shorts at home, because, as previously discussed, vampires in the Twilight Universe fucking suck at looking/acting human.
Bella notes that all the vampires but one are paired off in heterosexual bliss, and takes note of the straggler as a potential vehicle to vampyrdom.
Bella figures out that Eddie can read everyone’s mind but hers, because Edward Cullen fucking sucks at looking/acting like a human who can’t read minds. Bella further observes that Eddie has a huge undead boner for her.
She’s found her mark. Now she just needs to convince him that she’s better off as part of the coven than on her own. Problem: Eddie’s a self-pitying insufferably guilt-striken perpetual adolescent who keeps himself busy by feeling sorry for himself because he’s a vampire, angst angst angst etc etc. Also, I think he’s Catholic, so add some more guilt in. She’ll have to win him over by convincing him that they’re destined to be soulmates.
What does a vampire used to having complete insight into everyone’s mind but his crush’s want? A method to know what she really thinks of him. Bella begins writing a “diary” knowing that there’s no way in hell Eddie won’t sneak in and read it. So she Gone Girls it, and begins to lay a trap to lure him in. That first diary? Twilight.
This was just in the movie but a stoner chases her around with a worm on a stick. Nothing to do with this theory, I just like that part of the movie. Where’s my spinoff about that guy?
Eddie won’t give Bella what she wants (eternal life) by the end of book 1, even though she asks him to EXTREMELY POLITELY. Time to hit the diary with some more promises of undying love.
Bella reconnects with her old friend Jacob and the rest of the Mutated By Jeff Bezos Boys. Alas, they cannot turn her into a physically powerful sexy immortal with a bite, so she’s still stuck with plan A) win over a whole family of vampires with big Mormon energy. It’s the long con.
Edward’s angst abruptly takes a swing towards terminal. He’s absolutely your classic sadboy, perhaps because Bella now has one (1) friend that he knows about.
When Eddie begins to drift away on account of Angst, Bella conjurs up a secondary love interest who, coincidentally, is ALSO a sexy supernatural entity, and is much less coincidentally just Jacob.
We should establish here that Edward is like a 107 year old white dude and so even though Diary!Bella pretends not to see it, Metatextual Frame Story!Bella knows that dude is super racist.
Jacob Black is three things: 1. Like Bella, a mutant (although one with shapeshifting abilities), 2.one of Bella’s oldest and most trusted confidants, and 3. down to clown on an elderly teenage vampire who keeps stereotyping him. Sure, says Jacob, I’ll take the form of a werewolf. He seriously thinks we’re all just beastmen, huh? Hey look at me now, I’m Regis Philbin because this is 2005 and Who Wants to be a Millionaire is still sort of relevant. Sick.
Edward does not like that Bella has one (1) other friend. Bella and Jacob plot to use this to their advantage and lure Edward back on the wings of jealousy.
Eddie gets himself into trouble on account of Angst and poor communication, so Bella has to go rescue him from himself/the Volturi.
Aro finally meets her and gets to test her powers, which impress him. Now she’s back on the fucking radar.
I forget everything that happens in Eclipse, so i have chosen to omit that part.
Eventually she extracts a quid pro quo from Eddie; i’ll marry you if you turn me into a dracula.
We don’t really call ourselves that, Wet Blanket Cullen replies, entirely earnestly.
Bella gets married at 18 in 2006, and Eddie starts to backtrack his promise about changing her. This won’t stand.
Well, look, he’s an elderly guilty catholic/mormon teen who probably still uses super racist terms, but she’s stuck on honeymoon island, he has certain angles that work for him, and seriously what are they gonna do but fuck? Bella’s alternative is listening to her “husband” drone on about his interests, which are almost certainly Car, How Do I Post a Minion Picture on Facebook, and Licorice Used To Be a Lot Cheaper in the Good Old Days.
Whoops a fetus.
Bella recognizes that she’s GOT to have this baby: time’s running out, and Bella knows that at least two of the Vamps in her coven will cut ties if she terminates or otherwise fails to carry this baby to term because of the conservative religious subtext. She’s going to have to stick it out for 9 months, even though it’s a risky call.
Bella gets what she wants after giving birth. “My time as a human is over, but I've never felt more alive. I was born to be a vampire.” That’s a direct quote. Except now she’s got a (pretty cute and easy) baby that she desperately wants to protect from Turning Into A Vaguely Religious Cullen Dressed Head To Toe In Cream Colored Wool.
Bella decides to fake her own death and escape with the kid and Jake so they can form i guess a detective agency. Bella will get “killed” by the Volturi, move to Sydney, and open up shop, and Jake will take the kid after her a few months later.
They’re gonna need a reason why Jake gets the kid though, and there’s only one reason to do anything amongst the Cullens: a heterosexual love interest with a super problematic age gap.
Jesus, Jake sighs, is Eddie really going to believe I’m in romantic love with your actual infant? Does he really think that little of me?
Yup.
Bella tries to draw the Volturi’s attention.
Works too well.
The Cullens call up all their vague acquaintances, who are at least kind of fun. Particularly that one dude who keeps getting angry about British conduct during the American Revolution.
Well, fuck, now the Volturi are bringing an army to fight their ragtag army of Vampires Who Are Cool And Interesting Enough That We Can Safely Presume They Are All Definitely Gay. Bella can’t let those guys die, they’re the first actually compelling vampires she’s ever talked to.
Bella saves the day because she’s OP.
All the Cool Vamps start packing up to leave and Bellz almost goes with them, but the Cullens would just keep sending missionaries after her if they knew.
Bella finishes her fourth journal with the vague warning that the Volturi are still out there somewhere and they miiiight just try and get her.
Two days later, she stages a scuffle and gets the fork out of Fucks. Her journals are the only clue.
Sirius Black and baby nessie follow once edward has stopped sobbing into his cream colored sweater and moved on to Extended Power Pouting.
Bella recruits her own army of fledglings.
Bella stages a coup against the Volturi and succeeds.
Bella sits on the iron throne with a hot lady vampire on each knee and they all kiss and stuff.
Nessie I guess forms a post punk band?
Edward dies from aspiration of a brussel sprout that he ate because he just wanted to feel something.
Charlie and Billy get married.
Charlie’s mustache develops a cult instagram following, providing them with a modest retirement income.
Jacob shapeshifts into Bill Murray and is always crashing weddings.
Bella’s stepdad is off in the B plot this whole time winning the world series with the help of a kooky angel.
There. Fixed. My soul is at rest.

Ramadhan's over with my rants of Moon Knight!
...yeah i could make the title a bit more sense but I just want to release my thoughts so I could move on to something in peace.
.
Okay, where do I start? Oh yeah, I genuinely don't know a damn thing about this series. I watched a little clip last year when it was aired on my television—that bathroom scene—and instantly pinned to my brain for 'need to watch' list. But shamefully, either I forgot or didn't have much time to do so.
I dunno I am a bit tired to watch mcu related shows after endgame. No, scratch that, spiderman: FFH(because TASM casts were back). I usually watched TV shows in jumbled episodes and then I moved on. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate it, but most of them didn't get my interest (I'm a fan of Hawkeye but didn't managed to finished it) and the last two years was a bit hectic for my college.
Gladly, this year I have more free time during Eid's Holiday so I finally take my time to watch and ... oh boy i didn't regret a single of it.
It almost felt like a nostalgic trip to the first Iron-man. Fresh from any cameos within mcu in which I surprisingly late to notice this after the show. Saving the budget for their own show is more important than forcing to add any related mcu cameos into the series. It is brave and clever decision imo.
Also I love this kind of show, showcasing multiple alter-egos of the person is one my fav theme. One of my fav shows were 'Split' and 'Do No Harm'. There's also the Iconic story of 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde'. I also watched the documentary with one of them is 'The Monster Inside: The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan' from netflix.
The way media portraying DID in my view usually divided into 2 ver:
- Either Battling each alters in which who owns the body till the end.
- Or chattering each other like people with schizophrenia.
In which I don't know if it's well portrayed enough but most analysis video from phycologist expert youtubers usually hate the way media showed it...until moon knight, like for example this and that.
I myself once suffered as an autism with schizophrenia that almost having the same experience like Steven did the whole time. It was so bad that my mother actually invited me to the phycologist and did ruqyah method(a soul cleansing method by muslim community). So I kinda have a basic knowledge with that disorder.
ehem.
Huge kudos to Oscar Isaac playing his characters so flawlessly. And again I regret knowing him later after I watched the credits on the last episode because of my stereotype of him with his beard lmaoo XD
Goddamn his acting is superb! The way he differentiates his eye movements and body languages between Marc, Steven, even with Khonsu for a little time was really fascinating to watch. Look him in the eye at the moment and he could show you which alter he's doing without speak.
Like for real, I genuinely don't know about his alters let alone the third one at the mid-scene credits. My first initial thoughts was: "Huh... a new actor I guess...?"
....
*check goggle
*check tumblr
...
"HOLY SHIT THAT'S OSCAR TOO???!!!" O.o
Ugh I couldn't remember how many times I rewind in each scene, frame by frame. Always interesting to analyze what makes them distinguished between each other and learn something new every day. :D
Interestingly, May Calamawy should get the same praise tho. Their chemistry as a power couple developed beautifully well throughout the series. Being able to represent well that there will be a person who actually understand and help unstable person in need is fairly rare these days. Therefor, when she actually got her power, it's felt so rewarded. Also can we talk how good she acted that specific scene in ep 6?? :3
Ethan Hawke performance as a cult leader is also perfect. If Oscar's strongest suit was his face language, Hawke's strongest suit will be his speaking technique. You can almost indulged by his voice into his cult and It's scary lol.
somehow reminds me of Ralph Fiennes' perfomance of 'The Menu'
The visual effects...hm...might be not the best tbf. And I think this is one the series who has less vfx's scene. I can see they trying to maximizing their budget and focusing on what they need to add, and I think it's fair. I always love Oscar's summoned the suit moment(oh the details with the eyes...) and the gods really nice to look at.
Oh I forgot, kudos to Mohammed Diab showcasing a proper panoramic scenes of Egypt. Yes, finally! Less miserable yellow sand place but more of a beautiful dessert country for once. In fact it mostly built city within Cairo for the movie purpose speak a whole story. The crew knew exactly with their job and I loved every single of it(a bit sad they didn't get the permission to shoot in that country but I understand why).
Of course, not all of episodes are perfect, ep 3 and 6 are arguably the least one(whichever you might prefer the most). For me I choose the third one. Even though ep 6 is the shortest, that episode served it goal from the start. Where as ep 3, ...I dunno I kinda has love and hate relationship with it(?). It has my personal fav credits music, one of Marc & Steven's memorable moments. But...somehow the overall story and pacing are... not good. This is more like a filler episode...
I guess they wanted to use Gaspard Ulliel for future, but an unexpected sudden shift impacted the whole thing. I cannot blame them anyway so I'm genuinely fine with those minuses(RIP to the man btw. I love his acting in that episode)
But that's just me. I'm no expert, just a girl with opinions :/
The fight scenes were good though. Not much but when they did, they did right.
In back of my mind they will add those for the 2nd season. Clearly and brutally(like c'mon, the amount of blood from ep 1 yet slowly decreased until ep 6...surely they must be doing it on purpose, don't they?)
But nonetheless I can wait. As long as they confirmed with the tag 'season finale' and phase 5 road map.
Yeah I can wait :D
.
.
PS : I just don't get people thought Marc letting Harrow free is lazy writing or another usual hero antics 'that's the hero thing to do with mcu villain'.
Like I get it, at first I was surprised at that moment. But the second after he said, "Do it yourself" it just make sense. First and foremost, Marc's goal from the start of the series is to be free. Period.
He just didn't want to do that under Khonsu. Being just another slaver. Not only because Layla's reassurance imo.
Well I got satisfied in the end. Marc's vengeance was already been done by Jake and he's the perfect person to do that.
So it's still a win-win.

Zhou Ye: The Wonderful Ideas of Lotte Girls // Esquire Fine photoshoot & interview ~ a really wonderful interview with Yezi!
Read rough translation of interview below: https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/lY3oBM51ytlua7S8ZRdmlw
The lively character is like jumping candy, and the crisp voice is like summer honeydew. It can be a cute angel or a rebellious girl. Who wouldn't like a beautiful and free girl? We met Zhou Ye at a claw machine shop, and she caught the one she wanted five times!
Zhou Ye didn't laugh when shooting the magazine blockbuster, but she liked to laugh privately.
In the eyes of the people around, she is a simple and lively little girl, born optimistic, loves to joke, and loves to share all the fun and delicious. After catching up with the good-looking drama, she will also be ambitious to everyone, even if she encounters any troubles, she It will be resolved soon. She denied the title of "Girl's Heart"-when she was not working, she liked to lie at home and chase dramas, and science fiction and fantasy were her dishes. She enthusiastically gave an example. There is an American drama called "Stranger Things". It is about a little boy who disappeared in a small town in the United States. Everyone went to find him and found that there was an entrance to another world, exactly the same as this world. , But there is no one in that world. Such a story attracts her even more.
A few days ago, she took a four-day holiday, "very satisfied!" During the holiday, she made appointments with a few good friends for dinner, went to the playground, and watched dramas. If the vacation is longer, she would prefer to go home and stay with her family. Playing with mom and dad, playing with grandpa and grandmother, the family finds a beautiful place to go camping, and if you don’t go out, you can play mahjong with the whole family. She can stay away from looking at her mobile phone for a day.
Asked this girl who is not so girly what she wants, she said, "Now I want to accomplish everything in the moment, and every day will be better than the day before!"
Therefore, Zhou Ye, who hopes to be more progressive, raised his face and chatted with us about serious matters.
Before, people often said to me, "I like your performance of "Youth", but now everyone talks more about "Shanhe Ling". Let’s start the conversation with "The Order of Mountains and Rivers".
Gu Xiang in the play is a girl who is cold on the outside and warm on the inside. She helped Cao Weining, Zhang Chengling, and the singing sisters, but it didn't mean that she trusted them. She just felt that these people were very pitiful. Because Gu Xiang was picked up by her master when she was a child, she felt sorry for them and wanted to protect them.
She is defensive to everyone, and she will not trust anyone easily. In terms of character, Gu Xiang and I are a bit like. Both are more lively. What we don't quite resemble is our life experience and living environment.
When I first finished reading the script of "The Order of Mountains and Rivers", I loved Gu Xiang from the bottom of my heart. Gu Xiang grew up in Guigu where she was killed and beaten everywhere. Although she was lucky enough to meet Wen Kexing, the master who protected her, the rivers and lakes were sinister and Gu Xiang never really relaxed. Therefore, she can only protect herself by fierce methods. She looks acrimonious, slurs and curses, and she has to fight or kill at every turn. She looks very fierce and cruel, but her heart is really innocent and special. Kindness. When encountering people like Cao Weining, Zhang Chengling, and the singing sister Hua, Gu Xiang will rescue them and help them beat the gangsters.
Many audience friends felt that the ending of Gu Xiang and Cao Weining was too miserable when they watched "The Order of Mountains and Rivers". Gu Xiang originally didn't know what the outside world was like. After she came to the world, she met Big Brother Cao, and the two people who loved each other were about to be happy. Unexpectedly, on the day of the wedding, Gu Xiang lost her lover so much that she would fight herself Life. I am also uncomfortable with this ending. It is not easy for them to get to this day. Why can't they live well? If I were to write an ending, it would definitely be two people living together happily forever.
For me, playing Gu Xiang should be more difficult than playing. This is my first time shooting a costume drama, and also my first time shooting a martial arts drama. "Shanhe Ling" really has a lot of martial arts, because it tells the story of the rivers and lakes, so I joined the group some time before I started, and learned some moves from the martial arts masters.
In retrospect, the scene of the wedding was the most memorable. I had been shooting for three days in a row. I had been beating, killing, and hanging off Wia, and I would beat off some hair accessories from my hair. I didn't dare to hang on Wia at first, and the costume was so thick that I could easily trip on my feet. But I can’t take care of this when I shoot. This is Gu Xiang’s most emotional scene. I feel the same for Gu Xiang and can’t help crying. Until the end of my cry, I can’t tell whether my face is tears or saliva. , I hope that through this scene, everyone can feel Gu Xiang’s pain.
For me at this stage, whether it is a role that is more similar to myself or a completely different role, I am willing to give it a try. If the character of a character is very pleasing, I will have a sense of substitution when I read the script, I will like it, and I will really want to play it.
In fact, my interest in acting began after I was in college. When I was a child, I learned piano, and I was not very sensible at that time. I thought it would be fine to play the piano every day after growing up and collect tickets. After being admitted to the Beijing Film Academy, we often watch movies. When the directors see their favorite movies, they will think "I can make such a great movie in the future". I am in the acting department, so I hope I can do it in the future. Acting in a particularly powerful movie may be the influence of the school atmosphere. I still remember that I watched some old movies when I was in school. I really liked "Scent of a Woman" and Marlon Brando. He played "The Godfather" very well.
In the film school, we had a lot of opportunities to meet the director and the crew. We tried again and again, and slowly met scenes that were willing to use our young actors, and started the road to filming. I will definitely read the script several times before filming. In addition to my own role, I have to read the whole story, write a short biography of the character, and talk to everyone at the script reading meeting. For example, when shooting "Ah Cradle", I often consulted sister Haiqing and the director. In the filming of "Youth in Youth", I would also ask the director: The girl I played has such a good family, why does she bully her classmates? The director told me that because her parents had very strict education for her, she was required to be particularly good since she was a child. She was under tremendous pressure and kept suppressing it, so she vented the pressure by bullying her classmates.
When taking the play, I don't worry about people comparing my previous works or achievements, as long as my requirements for myself will not change. My request is to do my best to shape each role. Every time I finish filming a film, I will have a certain evaluation of myself, and I will also look at other people's evaluations of me, as well as the opinions given to me by my predecessors, to integrate these. Every time, I hope I can do better next time.
Up to now, I have been shooting for a few years, and I feel that I am not a talented actor, and I have to be a model worker. However, the sisters who brought me to the management team said that my biggest change and improvement is that I am more independent than before. When I first started filming, I would hide in the room and cry by myself every time I joined the group, especially wanting to go home.
Now I am more comfortable with the life of the crew than before. When I first joined the group, I still felt a little homesick. I hope to finish the filming soon, and become familiar with everyone. After work, I will play with the actors in the same group. When I was resting, I was playing with werewolf killing or something, so happy, I didn't want to kill it. I didn't want to be successful when I was filming "Shanhe Ling", and the same was true when filming "Ah Cradle". As actors, it seems that we can go to different places every time we film. In fact, there is not much time to spend in the local area, but we can eat a lot of local delicacies.
As I said just now, I want to do everything right now, and the current week is the best week.
Do you often dream? Please share a dream that is more imaginative.
Zhou Ye:
I sometimes dream. Once, I dreamed that I received an acceptance letter from an owl, took the Hogwarts Express train to the magic school to learn magical magic, visited Hogsmeade Village, and met so many new friends. .
What is your dream day like? How to spend it?
Zhou Ye:
At this stage, my dream day is to sleep in late, and after waking up, I will lie in bed and watch a drama or hang out with my friends or watch a drama.
How to arrange the dream holiday? Stay at home or go out to play?
Zhou Ye:
Of course, it is best to have two days, so you can stay at home one day and go out to play one day!
What about the journey of your dreams? With whom, where to go, and how to play?
Zhou Ye:
With your family, you can go to the beach or play paragliding.
What is your dream job announcement?
Zhou Ye:
Go to Universal Studios to shoot hahahaha, I really want to go!
What kind of "dream skills" do you want to have?
Zhou Ye:
Teleport!
Which era is the dream era? why?
Zhou Ye:
Now, now is the best time. Grasp the moment.

Do you have any more thoughts on makeup artist Olli and dramatic actor Joonas?👀
I might! 😌🎬💋
Joonas didn't actually need to take the role of that rather small budget no-name production company indie film, but the director Niko is an old friend (ex lover) of his and he owes Niko a favour so 🤷🏼‍♂️
So he's blessing everyone with his presence just for the sake of it, and while he thinks the film may have some potential, he only views it as just one stepping stone closer to the A-list
He's only been in a minor supporting role in a Hollywood production before, but the entire cast and crew will hear about how he turned down Chris because he wanted to "keep things professional" (it's a different Chris each time btw) and how sir Ian McKellen once said Joonas was like a son to him (it was a misunderstanding; Ian was just admiring the rising sun one day on set when Joonas happened to walk past (they never even had any scenes together))
The rest of the crew have learnt to ignore half of Joonas' ramblings, but Olli the makeup artist is 1) far too socially awkward to ask him to just shut up like everyone else is doing, and 2) kind of taking a pity on the man, who clearly thinks he's not interesting enough if he's not constantly reciting an unbelievable anecdote from when he went to theatre school with Ezra Miller and Booboo Stewart
(Olli pretends to know who they are and has to ask Joel the sound engineer later, who then sits Olli down and forces him to watch The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the whole friggin' Twilight saga (without telling Olli the actor in question wouldn't show up until the third movie))
Olli only wishes the bloody diva could keep his pretty & very kissable mouth shut for a couple of seconds at least so that he could do Joonas' lips properly 😩
And yeah, every morning Joonas wakes up, already exhausted of the upcoming day full of pretending to come. He loves acting alright, but sometimes it can be a little difficult to turn off the role of an entertainer. However, in that makeup chair, at stupid o'clock in the morning, Joonas feels like he can be just Joonas at least for the few moments it takes for Olli to prepare his make-up equipment before he starts working on Joonas' eyebags. Quite quickly it becomes Joonas' favourite part of the day: the cute, shy makeup artist seems to be the only one who actually takes his presence seriously 🥺
And the more Joonas keeps glancing at the guy via the mirror, the more he notices how he keeps blushing when Joonas slips out something a little more flirty than his usual monologue..
And the more Olli looks closely at Joonas' eyes as he does his makeover, he realises just how deeply blue they are..
And of course his hands are rather tied regarding Joonas' looks because Niko has a pretty clear vision of what his leading star is supposed to look like, but Olli is itching to try new, more daring styles on Joonas. The shape and colour of his eyes are just begging to be experimented with 😍
One day, after Joonas has been working for 12 hours non-stop (a majority of which were spent on just a few scenes he just couldn't get right because he was feeling kinda off for some reason (it happens more lften than not)), he's exhausted and miserable and can't wait to get back into his trailer to cry his eyes out, but on his way out of set he spots Olli on his own at the make-up station, practicing some pretty impressive makeup art on himself
Joonas sees how Olli smiles at himself once he's finished, but then he sighs and wipes it all off and it breaks Joonas' heart 😭
So the next day Joonas makes an effort to ask Olli about the different products and methods he's using and oh. my. god. the way Olli's eyes light up when he gets to talk about his passion, makes Joonas wonder why he didn't think of asking him sooner? 🥺
He could listen to Olli speak for hours, but alas Niko starts screaming his name from somewhere in the set, so he has to bid the make-up guy farewell 🤧
But only until the end of the day after they have finished filming the night shots, when Joonas finds Olli like he did the previous night, only this time Joonas steps in and asks Olli if he'd like to practice his art on him as well 🥰
Rinse and repeat the next few nights, and every time they come a little closer to a kiss.. 😳
They won't kiss until the wrap party though, when they're both tipsy enough to have built the courage. When they wake up next to each other in Joonas' trailer the next morning, Joonas remembers how they had spent the night doing each others make-up with Olli's personal equipment & products, giggling and making out until they couldn't keep their eyes open any more 🥰
The film is not a blockbuster of course, but it does surprisingly well. What caughts the press' eye at the red carpet events though is the leading actor and his new boyfriend, who make a stunning pair in their immaculate eye make-up 💖
(Side plots for this AU include the light engineer Joel being forced to watch after the diva's pomeranian puppy as if he doesn't have a job to do already, Niko, I love you bro and I'm not in this for the money, but for gods' sake you don't pay me enough for this shit; Aleksi the assistant director who keeps getting distracted by the mayhem going on with Joel and the puppy, and Tommi the props guy who's there do just do his goddamn job)
