uhhhh horror! i wanna say horror is my favorite horror genre :)

To actually answer your question (sorta):

The one I can tolerate watching a movie of: Horror Comedy, Psychological Horror, Werewolf Stories, probably old 70s/80s slasher horror

The ones I enjoy from a far distance (consuming through every which way other than directly): Supernatural Horror, Analog Horror (somewhat), Folk Horror, idk like all of it? I just really like horror in general. My anxiety won't let me touch most horror things with a ten foot pole, however.

I am, without a doubt, a total coward. When I was young I couldn't set foot in a Spirit Halloween bc the sound the welcome mats made scared me. I couldn't handle Courage The Cowardly Dog after that King Ramses' Curse episode. Dolls FREAKED me out, especially American Girl dolls. The concept of ghosts still scares me a LOT.

So, because I'm a coward, and I know my limits, I experience horror in what few ways I can.

If I see absolutely anyone on youtube talking about a horror movie I've never heard of before, I'm absolutely gonna be looking up everything I can about that movie and pretty much experience a deconstructed version of it, a practice that I'm pretty sure takes a year off my younger film degree sister's life every time I do it.

I do horror best in the form of comics, where I'm in complete control of when I'm gonna see Stuff, and the still images are things I can handle way better than Jumpscare City (modern horror films).

I enjoy videos by Ryan Hollinger, May Leitz (Nyxfears), In Praise Of Shadows, Dead Meat, and many more. If you haven't heard of her before btw, DEFINITELY check out Nyxfears if you haven't already.

talk about books that changed my brain chemistry and boosted my writing, especially the fifth season, which pulls a narrative trick with its 3 main character perspectives that still has me reeling and makes me resent the fact that not every protagonist is an exhausted middle aged mother who's haunted by choices and horrors of her own making!!

a take on werewolves that's at times genuinely sickening to read, esp for my body-horror-scawy ass. lot of upsetting themes fyi, like. all the themes. are upsetting. but i was left feeling like I'd just gotten the world's most dire hug. also trans allegory out the wazoo.

I've never felt smart enough for this book but i think about it constantly, not just because the contents are so traumatic but the way it's written..... even now i feel like such a dunce trying to say anything about it but it's like. it broke rules in my brain about how books are supposed to be structured and understood. there's a chapter that ends in a stream of thought that's borderline incomprehensible and it's in my head forever.

there's a song exploder podcast episode about it. she talks about how it's an homage to her good friend Joni Mitchell, how it's about this very feminine love she shares with her wife and daughter (and now also her son) and how she spent some of her youth grappling with that femininity.

Laura Marling and her partner don't have children. this song is a hypothetical about the trauma of being a girl and having your boundaries crossed when you're young. but what absolutely destroys me is that there's a string section, which was written by a violinist to whom she gave creative liberty, and in his strings he says, "i wrote this to be the character of The Daughter, so she's here in the song soaring over everything" and it just. hearing the context and then listening to the song........i show this episode to anyone who's stuck in a car with me 25 minutes.

Lockwood is a poet and this is her memoir about growing up with a Catholic priest for a dad, something that in itself seems contradictory. it's phenomenal. i can't believe someone exists who's this good at writing. her relationship with her mother is hilariously, tenderly depicted and it's questioning and resentful and loving and there's a chapter about them called the cum queens of the hyatt palace and it's the funniest thing I've ever read

So I just suddenly got a flashback of a story I started working on in Freshman year of high school. It was in notebooks upon notebooks!

It was a secret Area 51 run team. And they were basically social workers for supernatural beings. I remember it was gonna be like a crime novel about rookie case worker, Angelina (Angel), and her veteran case worker, Alistor, who was very tired with the job. And they were gonna be helping out a werewolf pack that had settled into a small town. That was currently having issues with like the local vampire family. I don’t remember it all really well.

But that’s why I think I’m so excited about this new WIP of yours! Because it reminded me of them and now I’m excited to hear even more about it!

a very quick summary of the current infiniteverse shit. its now werewolves and vampires as the primary story.

the galvezs are a prominent vampire colony and the williams are vampire hunters but also some of them are werewolves. benjamin williams kills zora galvezs mom so zora decides to take out the entire hunters guild but is so paranoid about it she hires anim, a vampire she turned, to kill off basically anyone in the bloodline. and javier is her brother but was never turned because he left the family and hes friends with joshua williams and doesnt want this all to happen. and harper williams is a creep.

anyways javier manages to make anim see that theyre being manipulated and gets them away from zora but zora finds and kills them. javier has a depressive spiral and sleeps with zoras ex/his werewolf friend emily and he accidentally knocks her up and she feels like she cant be trusted with her kid as a wolf who is bad at controlling her form so javier mainly takes care of kyra. and hes friends with joshua who had a surrogate to have tethys so they were friends as young children. but javiers also a slut and knocks up jamies mom at some point. when he finds out that zora killed anim he attacks her and she kills him. zora takes in kyra and is like yeah your dad fucked off lol. she kills joshua but lets tethys go because she doesnt wanna kill a child. tethys is taken in by emily who by this point has gotten her shit together but is unable to reach kyra because zora hates her.

so years later shits fairly normal. tethys and jamie meet at school and become friends. sam goes to the same school and joins. jamie is disowned by his family for being trans and moves in with tethys and emily. MEANWHILE zora has her weird silly little family with her wife juno, her daughter kylin, and her niece kyra. kylin loved anim like family and idolized them and zora reluctantly lets her hunt the vampire hunters in their place, but she eventually gets killed on the job. zoras been a shitty wife to juno so after their daughter dies juno leaves her and zora gets really depressed and starts being shitty to kyra.

this is where it gets fuzzier. i think car accident? idk, sams in a coma. kylin returned as a ghost but because she wasnt supposed to shes decaying fast so zora kidnaps sam and kylin takes him as a vessel. when sam wakes up theres now both him and kylin in the same body taking turns. hijinks insue. zora finds tethys again and is like yeah shes old enough to kill now. one night tethys sneaks out to find sam and jamie follows her after, tethys is kidnapped, kyra tries to help her escape but tethys is caught again and killed by kylin whos posessing sam. jamie sees this and fights sam and i forgot to mention jamie has werewolf blood and so hes shot by a silver bullet that fucks up his arm.

a year later tethys ghost comes back. jamie is Different. sam is coping poorly. kyra has taken on kylins/anims killing job. zora makes her kill emily because emilys working with juno whos running a group to stop zoras evil shit. kyra kills emily and it fucks tethys and jamie up really bad. emilys brother aaron comes to take them to the resistance base where they meet juno. plot to take down zora and stuff. blah blah kyra sacrifices herself saving tethys, but barely lives as we learn later. jamie ends up killing sam to get kylin out of his body. samlin throws tethys into a fire at some point during the fight.

the sequel was gonna be sam coming back as a ghost and joining the resistance group because zora is still alive, this time kyra also comes back and kills zora and she and kylin become the next big bads for some reason? and uhhh everyone dies at the end. none of the sequel shit is canon anymore because its bad

(Read with caution as I will discuss things such as death and other ghosty stuff, nothing much, but still!)

Vampires and werewolves, in particular, have a cursed and mostly very dangerous type(???? If that’s what you can call it?) that instead of preying on humans alone, require the blood of other supernatural or undead beings to survive.

We’ll call these “dark vampires” or “dark werewolves” for the sake of the fact that they use darker magic than regular types, and are typically very evil :) (A regular vampire/werewolf can be turned into a dark type bc it’s basically like a curse)

Anyway!

Tsunagu is a dark vampire. He’s a born vampire from both his mother and father, but was turned by an ✨evil ex-lover✨ and therefore he requires the blood of undead folk to stay alive, and is a lot more powerful than the regular vampire.

Shinya is a demon spirit. I’ll have to go a little more into detail for his, since it’s me so you’re not gonna get an easy explanation /lh

He was a guardian of his village, and died to protect it when they got ambushed. He died by almost losing his head and drowning in the river.

After this, he turned into a vengeful water ghost, haunting the river for many years and being very very hostile and aggressive, killing anyone who trespassed among the village or the river. He seemed revenge from those who killed him and his family, and eventually he got it! And should’ve been able to be at peace….but…

Instead of this, the spirits of the village were all freed and he basically transformed into a protective demon guardian spirit, manifesting a physical form as well as a ghosty form. And his lust for blood had subsided, leaving him to basically just be free to wander around as a ghost/demon spirit.

He is already dead, so cannot die, however in order to keep his physical form in tact he must consume human or undead souls. And if his physical form “dies” he must basically just be a ghost until he can form the energy to re-manifest it.

His vengeful spirit form did not entirely vanish however, and since he died by drowning, being submerged in water or in water of any kind will bring this side back out of him.

Basically this just makes him aggressive and have a more spooky appearance and also try to kill anyone around him. (Things such as reflections and mirrors will also show this side of him.)

But he can travel through things and possess things like normal ghosts when he’s in his ghosty form!!

The two of them met bc Shinya followed Tsunagu home after finding him “familiar” and decided “eh, I’ll just spook him and take his soul” and so he tried….only for Tsunagu to spook him back and he finds out that he’s a dark vampire and ends up just living in his house!

They end up getting used to each other’s presence and after a few different shenanigans and near-“death” (though the can’t die, they can still get hunted by hunters) experiences, they end up forming a bond with each other and treasuring each other dearly <3

.: My Current Theory(s) :.

I've only played this game for around a couple days, but I've also been hunting down theories outside of it...and hoo boy, my hunches for most things going on make me so excited to see what happens next. I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing these things, and I will definitely try to use other traits (I main Street Smarts and Mystic in my canon playthrough) to see if I can get other stuff to pop up.

But for now, I'm gonna talk about my own playthrough and my theories for events after Chapter Four.

(+) I didn't like my cousin at first, honestly she weirded me out and I fully believe she's part of everything going on..but I can tell she's not entirely 'bad', she's probably just stuck doing these things and feels she simply can't leave. And I do like that she doesn't want us causing trouble, I do believe she cares but isn't trying to get too close (for reasons). I even protected her during the psychedelic ghost 'vision', giving up years of my life in her place. I hope I can get closer to her in future chapters, even if she betrays me I'd still not entirely be angry about it.

(+) Sybil is definitely sus. I kept on feeling there was something about her, I mean she knows about Ditchlings and doesn't seemed scared in the least by anything going on. But when she did the tea reading...I got the ability to actually push past my option to suspect her being the 'cat' being flipped on me. So my fears were correct, she definitely knows what's going on. And may be even the mastermind behind it all. I wouldn't be surprised in the least at this point, especially after she literally stood in a doorframe and had shadows on her the entire time. So I'm gonna be watching out for her.

(+) I hope that the church is important soon, I do wanna see the mysteries behind that place and Tetanus Lake. I bet the 'rats' are either Ditchlings, or possibly even ghosts of those who died in that lake...and I bet we'll have to jump in. Possibly to find another one of those symbols/seals buried underneath. And I'm actually starting to like the priest, I don't think he's a bad guy and is simply just trying too hard to be liked...though a part of me hopes I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, I want it to be revealed that the priest is actually running a cult of some kind. Because those little tidbits throughout the story are driving me up a wall.

(+) I didn't save the doctor in my canon playthrough, so I hope that doesn't screw me over in the future...but it probably will. I'll probably get bad metal poisoning and all that from the lake, and there'd be no doctor to help with that. I just hope Reese comes back...I'm trying to romance him, I just want my monster boy to cuddle me as I deal with this hellscape of a town.

(+) I think Reese is most definitely NOT human. He's most close to an Incubus, at least with how he was conceived...but he's also similar to a Vampire and/or Werewolf, I mean he can shapeshift and even has a tail. Maybe he could also be part Ditchling...I wouldn't be surprised if he was, considering. I just hope that I won't have to face him possibly going into a hunger frenzy at some point, and I hope he doesn't get a hunger for humans after chomping down on his own mom. But, I'm also not against helping him with that...*grabs axe*

(+) Stella NEEDS to be found. And soon. I hope she really isn't a part of everything going on, but after she just up and left I'm not leaving out any reasoning. Even asking Wayne about her didn't get me anywhere, but tbh that whole thing after Reese I'm far less wary of him now than before. I mean, the guy wants me to leave the town...so he is definitely on my side, even if he did try to hurt Reese I'll still try trusting him more. He may be the only lifeline I'll have to save myself in the future.

And I should say for 11 generations Summer's family had black hair then her mama gets with one red haired man and suddenly the family gives up.

tbh, kinda lame, but I'm gonna say ghosts. There's so many varieties that have different cool abilities. Perhaps from a narrative/story structure you have more room to make up your own rules compared to others.

🐺 Werewolf: What is your favorite urban legend?

My childhood favorite was always the loch Ness monster. I was low-key obsessed - I loved the Scooby-Doo movie with it, I rewatched Water Horse soooo many times. I just love ocean horrors man, the Kraken and stuff of the like is so scary to me.

Yes I love scary movies - the cheap jumpscare ones annoy me because I'm like 'ok I got startled throughout this movie but what is SCARY about it?'

I loveee John Carpenter's The Thing, Alien (the first one is more horror) is soo good and I'm so gay for Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley (and relatable running around with your cat in a carrier you're trying to save and they're immediately unappreciative), and I'll say The Poltergeist movies have a special place in my heart because they were the first actual scary movies I could sit through. Also The Exorcist just because it's a classic and even if it isn't 'scary' by today's standards (which I sideeye a bit), it is still so good for atmosphere and practical effects...

2: Vampires or werewolves?

First fictional vampire that comes to my mind is the Master from the Wayward Children series who is an evil controlling possessive manipulator, and first fictional werewolf that comes to my mind is Jasper Kaylock from The Glass Scientists who is an absolute cinnamon roll, so I'm kinda leaning towards werewolves.

I feel like werewolves don't scare me as much as vampires in general because like. I dunno, being a vampire is a full-time thing and vampires I see in fiction are more likely to wholeheartedly embrace the whole bloodsucking thing, whereas werewolves can just be a totally normal and maybe even really nice person except for those few nights a month where they turn into a monster that may or may not be hostile and if it is hostile there's a possibly it might not be them in their right mind--which is a whole 'nother thing.

23: Know when you will die or know how you will die?

I feel like either one of those would stress me the heck out. If you know WHEN you'll die then you have a greater awareness of the ticking clock that hangs over you on that, and if you know HOW you'll die, you can try your best to prevent that but it sounds like in this scenario it's kinda set in stone so you know it'll eventually happen anyway. Say you know you'll die by choking on a certain food. You'd stay the heck away from that food from then on, but you'd still know that like, eventually, somehow, you're gonna wind up eating that food anyway and choking on it. My instinct is to say know how I'll die because then I could possibly try to avoid what might be my cause of death and at least feel like I was able to do something for awhile to prevent or at least delay my death, but. I don't know. Either of these would be terrible for me tbh.

Oh gawd LOL I have no idea how to write for this XD. So it might just be a semi story. Not really a oneshot but an explanation how things turn out. Damian curiously goes into the portal, seeing Danny sneak off into. Finding himself in the ghost zone in front of a growling werewolf. "Hey, its fine Wulf, that's my new.. brother?" Danny still awkward mentioning them by family terms. He floated over to help pick Damian up who tried to shrug off his help. Damian's eyes went back to the wolf man, staring. "Ah, I'm sorry, brother of phantom. I am Wulf." Wulf sniffing Damian to make sure he was unharm, and to keep memory of his scent. Damian very tempted to pet. Danny snickering, snapping Damian out of his daze. "I'm Damian Wayne." "Just call him Damian." Danny told Wulf before Wulf could repeat Damian's full name with a nod. So because Damian refuses to go back, Danny and Wulf take him with them. Wulf making sure Damian is safe since he's Danny's brother. Letting him ride his shoulders since he is not a ghost so he cannot fly around. Danny running some errands, and then before they go home, ask Wulf if he can stop them somewhere else first to get smoothies. Wulf doesn't know what a smoothie is but doesn't like it once they get it. Walking into the store as they are, with Wulf and Damian's hood up. Danny ordering for them at the counter, Damian adding specifics and Danny repeating them. Wulf then opens a portal there and they hop through it once they got their smoothies. Spooking everyone/making news. they then walk out of a portal into the batcave. Bruce already having heard news of strange wolfman.. only to see two of his kids come into the cave with the same creature. His arms crossed as he stare at them. "What do you have there?" >:T "A smoothie." Damian stated as he petted Wulf with one hand and sipped on the smoothie that was in his other. Danny floating behind them slurping loudly. Mostly innwardly panicking. Bruce frowned. "I'm talking about the wolf." "Don't need to be rude, Father. He has a name." "What's his name?" "Wulf." Danny trying hard not to snicker as Wulf is just glancing at Phantom, bit worried. Bruce pinched the bridge of his nose, "And what were you, Danny, and Wulf doing in the city?" "Getting smoothies, obviously Father. Have you hit your head?" Danny starts crying he's laughing so hard. "Danny." Bruce's voice makes Danny shrink at being called out. Danny floated to stand on the floor, rubbing his arm nervously. "I had some business to do, so I called my friend, Wulf. Because he can make portals, and Damian went into the portal. So we just hung out. No harm." "I honestly don't see the problem here, Father." Bruce sighing, "The problem is that its already all over the news, saying how Damian Wayne was seen in smoothie shop with the ghost vigilante Phantom and a wolfman. That's the problem." "People should mind their own business. Ghosts are just like us." Damian having no intentions of leaving Wulf's shoulders. He was still playing with his fur. Bruce giving a stare as both Damian and Danny slurped their smoothies. LOL not really a fleshed story but a scenario~

kay so if that prequel script was real - and i would not be surprised if it was - not only is this piece of media not getting my money but boy howdy i’m gonna clown the hell out of it. instead of recreating the beats of good old spn, i beg literally anyone in production to consider:

centring the narrative around mary 

imagine mary totally rejecting the life she idolized as a kid because her daddy was her hero

by the time she meets john she wants nothing to do with hunting and she’s done with violence

she has a band of hunter friends she still kind of sees/keeps in touch with

the fact that pretty much all of her friends (carlos, latika, ada) are in hunting or are connected to hunting is a major internal conflict for her all season

she meets john. she thinks he’s cute at first, they flirt at a diner, whatever

they’re talking and it turns to politics; he tells her he lied to enlist at 17 and has been honourably discharged for blahblah military reasons. he is a USA simp, which ties into his own daddy issues that mostly have to do with feeling abandoned by his own father

this guy represents literally everything mary despises, because SURPRISE she is anti-war and anti-violence when she can help it

still they both have daddy issues so that’s something, but she’s not gonna see him again. thing is, he just keeps... being around

the first half of the season is mary trying to juggle the fact that she’s “out” of the life now, while also trying and failing to figure out if john winchester is a stalker/monster who is stalking her

meanwhile, john sees mary everywhere and /he’s/ convinced she’s interested - but after a couple blowouts, he pretty much wants nothing to do with her because he has wounded man-pride

the mid-season finale ends with mary realizing: nah, john is not a stalker, and over the course of this little weird back-and-forth they’ve been having there are parts of him that are... not awful. after mary gives him this speech about fate or whatever, john agrees to one date (despite his best efforts he thinks she’s really cute, and he likes that she’s so straightforward). they actually have a pretty good time.  

at this point, they’re both kind of in it for different reasons, but none are really romance: sure, they like each other more every day, but they’re really kind of trying to prove to themselves and their respective fathers that they can have the apple pie life 

the rest of the season is mary trying to protect john from the life

they go on a date and she has to covertly kill a poltergeist or a ghost or a werewolf

john meets all mary’s friends and the entire night is an exercise is “how much info is too much”

and every sunday night john goes to his mom’s and passes a bookshelf with a truly insane variety of occult books

as the season progresses, they fall more and more in love and the lighting becomes more gold/peach. during that time, there are weird narrative inconsistencies and retcons. “nah, it was love at first sight,” etc.

during the last two eps, the characters that had been fully fleshed out earlier in the season just feel totally flat

like every good romcom, this one ends with a wedding, but the camera is close up on the two of them only. we don’t hear about or see any guests, including their friends and parents

the season ends like a record scratch at the wedding. cut to the camera on dean in a really nice house with a white picket fence. he looks at miracle and frowns. starts looking through a bunch of papers at his desk. we see paper with bits of the john and mary story, but also with stuff from the og spn. these papers all have red marks all over them, and dean snatches two up and bolts

we see him knock on the door of another house and sam answers, smiling. “hey, dean, what’s up?”

and dean shoves the two papers in his hands and nods once, quickly, before leaving. sam frowns and looks at them, we pan down with him, not quick enough to read, but linger at the last bit written in red pen:

iwaizumi hates halloween.

face it, he hates horror movies, they shake him to his core — now take this, a whole season dedicated to horror movies, ghost stories and spooky decorations? now, that's too much.

even as a kid, he refused to ever go trick or treating, he claimed it was because he found it stupid — but really, he was just scared of any jumpscares on the road or if his friends dragged him to a horror house.

and now here you are, having your apartment as a halloween shrine with spooky decorations and pumpkins everywhere, and of course, iwaizumi strongly disagrees against it.

"can't we just take them down," he says, staring at the screaming face mask you've decided to set above the tv for some reason, "they look really stupid."

"no, they're not," you giggle, setting up a pumpkin on the counter, "i think they're nice, you're just scared."

"can we at least take down the screaming face mask," he's making eye contact with it, "i feel like it's staring at me."

you glance over at him, and shake your head, scoffing, "it's not staring, you just stop staring at it."

iwaizumi slumps down on the couch in defeat, obviously there is no winning this discussion, and he knows you're gonna have his sit down with you through horror movies for the entire night, and he knows he won't be able to say no.

well, not to you anyway — never to you, because no matter how much he tries to, he probably never will be able to.

"come on," you say, joking him at the couch, "i'll make you pumpkin pie — you know, i make the best ones."

"you sound like a killer grandma who lives in the woods in a cabin."

you scoff, very offended, "and i was trying to be nice — i take it back."

your building doesn't rely have any kids in it, so there is no doorbell ringing every two seconds, yet you've prepared a bowl of sweets that's sitting on the coffee table.

"here," you grab a strawberry candy and hand it to iwaizumi.

he eyes the candy, before saying, "give me the pineapple flavoured one."

"god, you're so picky," you throw the strawberry one back in the bowl and hand him the one of his choice.

silence settles in, comfortable one to say the least, you're enjoying the moment and the atmosphere of halloween, iwaizumi is enjoying your presence and still can't shake off the feeling that the screaming face mask is staring at him.

your apartment is decorated in all sorts of halloween stuff — firstly, you have a 'do not disturb' sign on the front door written in bloody font (which iwaizumi, ironically enough, finds it very disturbing) then you have little witches hanging on the ceiling with their werewolf friends, and then all sorts of masks hanging on the wall, and lastly, the pumpkins on each and every counter.

you have a pumpkin pie baking in the oven and it's a little around nine pm, it's dark outside and it's a perfect time to start your horror movie night.

"haji," you call out to him, and you're using that tone, and he knows it's time when you're wearing that smirk.

"you're paying the wifi bill this month," he says, spreading his arms on the couch.

"hey! you live here too!"

yeah, he does, you live together — and god, he likes you, he likes you so much and it just seems so unfair that you both live together but not even a couple.

iwaizumi rolls his eyes at you and you just scoff in response, a smile dancing on your lips because you know the both of you are enjoying every moment of this, no matter how much iwaizumi acts like he's annoyed, he knows that he's head over heels for you, and no matter how much you act like you can't stand him, you know very well that you won't be able to live without him.

"well," you start the movie and throw iwaizumi a smirk as you lean on to him, "let the show begin."

31 Days of Halloween (2021) is an exercise of creativity born out of the desire to delve more into the fantastic. Sixteen stories feature Colby Brock as one supernatural creature or another (except for one, which delves more into fairy tales, but magical nonetheless), and the remaining fifteen are more on the “realistic” side of fantasy with the typical ghost-hunting shenanigans (some more serious, some more comical, as it should be). None of the stories are connected; all of them exist in their own, individual universe. Enjoy! xx

Okay, I'm just gonna write out my main ideas for my Reimagined Monster High. Here we go.

-it takes place in a world where monsters are outnumbered and shunned by humans, so monsters are forced to basically live in secret. Away from humans, in their own secret communities.

-The school itself was founded by Nora Bloodgood. Monster High was the first school of its kind to accept all kinds of monsters and has been running for hundreds of years. Also, it's a boarding school.

-The story will be mostly character driven with the main players being,

-Toralei Stripe. A werecat.

An orphan adopted by Headmistress Bloodgood. Toralei made friends with twin sisters Meowlody and Purrsephone Moon. Unfortunately, the 3 of them became the biggest bullies in the school. Though the twins were much more worse then Toralei. The twins were send to juvy after "the freezer incident".

"The freezer incident", Without Toralei's knowledge, the twins played their most dangerous prank of all. They locked Deuce Gorgon, a cold blooded monster into the school freezer, resulting in him almost freezing to death.

After that, Toralei took a long, hard look in the mirror and decided to change. Trying to redeem herself. So far most students are still untrusting of her. But 2 of them have forgiven her and became her friends, those 2 being...

-Clawdeen Wolf and Draculaura. A werewolf and vampire couple.

Clawdeen is a fashion designer with quite a following. Monsters love her designs and she's gotten quite a lot of commissions.

She always speaks her mind and has an extreme dislike for lies and liars. She's also fiercely loyal and protective of her friends and family, especially her younger siblings, Clawd and Howleen.

Draculaura is vegetarian vampire, no meat or blood for her. Unfortunately, due to her diet she's also extremely vulnerable to direct sunlight and always carries a parasol or umbrella with her.

Draculaura is one of, if not the most kind person in the school. And yet, there's some hints she's got a dark past. She's 1599 years old, so of course she has some secrets she doesn't want anyone to know about.

-Frankie Stein. One of the 3 new students at the beginning of the story.

Frankie is only a month old and still doesn't quite understand how the world works. She only knows stuff from outdated teen girl magazines. So, yeah. She knows nothing.

Frankie is assigned as Toralei's new roommate. Which means Toralei is half the time busy with making sure Frankie doesn't piss off the entire student body with her antics. Luckily she's helped by Clawdeen and Draculaura.

The 3 of them become Frankie's guides to life. With varying degrees of success.

-Gil Webber. The 2nd of 3 new students at school.

Gil was raised by highly abusive and bigoted parents. Constantly talking about how dangerous and despicable other monsters are. They sheltered Gil never letting him outside or go to the surface. Gil grew up terrified of the world.

Eventually, word got out about Gil's situation and the authorities got involved. Gil's parents were arrested and Gil was taken to Monster High and put in the care of Nora Bloodgood.

Gil is assigned as the new roommate of...

-Deuce Gorgon. Half gorgon, half human.

Deuce has lived for thousands of years since ancient Greece. Son of medusa and inherited her stone gaze. If he looks someone in the eye, they turn to stone. Luckily, since Deuce is half human the gaze is only temporary. And it doesn't work on monsters made out of stone or the undead. Like ghosts, zombies and mummies.

Deuce is a nervous wreck. Freezer trauma notwithstanding, he's constantly worried about dropping his sunglasses and turning someone to stone. He's also insecure about his skills as a chef and artist. He tries to look cool and laid back but he's not fooling anyone.

The snakes on his head are named, Jefferson, Addison, Carson, Maddison and Ed. He treats them as younger siblings even though they're all the same age.

Deuce has some trouble helping Gil not being afraid of everything. So he finds help from other water monsters. Sirena Von Boo? Too ditzy. Finnegan Wake? Comes on too strong. So his only choice is...

-Lagoona Blue. Half Sea monster, Half Water nymph.

Lagoona is bubbly, kind, carefree and very much a Himbo. She's genderfluid so they go by any pronouns he feels like at the moment.

They have 2 passions. Sports. And helping people out. And Gil is just the person that desperately needs Lagoona's help.

-Cleo De Nile. A mummy.

A princess who disowned her family because of how horrible they were. Cleo's lived long enough to know that being bad doesn't get you anywhere.

She's kind, understanding, and extremely generous. She's a natural born leader who takes charge when needed.

-Billy Where. An invisible man.

Billy, or "Invisi-Billy" as some call him is a theater kid at heart. Aside from that Billy also loves discovering the unknown and mysterious.

While his father is invisible all the time, Billy can control his visibility at will. He can even make other objects or people he's touching invisible.

Billy was assigned a new dorm room by Headmistress Bloodgood. A room down in the catacombs. He was put there cuz Bloodgood believes he can help the student living down there with his problems. That student being...

-Johnny Spirit. An unchained ghost.

Johnny died during the late 50s and he's got the greaser look down pat.

Johnny refuses to leave the catacombs and interact with other students, he does not wanna get involved or get attached to anyone. So he does not like having a roommate forced upon him.

And yet, as time goes on Johnny starts caring for Billy and thinking of him as a friend. Eventually trusting him enough to tell him the reason why he shut himself off. The story of how he died.

But that's a story for another time. ;P

Other important characters include,

Abbey Bominable. 3rd new student. She's blunt and likes photography. She has no roommate but gets taken in by,

Clawd Wolf and Heath Burns. Boyfriends that guide Abbey through the school and drag her into their shenanigans and schemes.

Ghoulia Yelps. Cleo's best friend and assistant. Genius.

Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde. Mad scientist and laid back DJ sharing a body.

Neightan Rot. Gay zombicorn. Can go from dishevelled hobo to fabulous drag queen in 10 seconds.

Spectra Vondergeist. Ghost "reporter" that runs the ghostly gossip.

And many more students.
