Summary: (Part 1: Desperate Times) After your break-up Remus doesn't know what to do with himself, but when he finally gets to see you again he promises himself to make it up to you by any means he can
Content Warnings/Tags: fluff, small amount of angst, big amount of smut, minord dni, 18+, unedited writing, still not sure if smut is my strong suit but won't stop me from trying
Word Count: 3.4k
A/N: A lot has happened while I took a break from writing for a little while but it basically comes down to the fact that I still struggle with my mental health on a daily basis and writing isn't always my priority. While I do not plan to stop writing any time soon, the intervals of them will probably continue to stay longer. So thank you to everyone who has the patience to wait. Anyway, today is my birthday, so this is my small gift to all of you for the occasion xx

His friends didn't dare say anything, no, they could see how he was doing, they didn't need to ask. So they let him sulk, and it's not like they hadn't tried to cheer him up, but there was nothing that seemed to work. Not the speech from James, not the distractions Sirius tried, and not even the chocolate muffins Peter swiped from the kitchen could get a smile on his face. Just letting him wait it out seemed like the best option. But as time continued to pass and Remus continued to sulk, they realised a more hands-on approach was needed.
They weren't sure if talking to you would go over well, so they decided to test the waters by talking to your friends.
"What do you want Potter" Lily glared at James as he sat down next to her.
"Don't you think it's time she apologizes"
Now see, all of them were used to the incredulous looks Lily would give James, but this one beat the record.
"What in the seven hells are you on about"
"Remus has suffered enough, he hasn't left the dorm in nearly a week."
"So?"
"So. Whatever fight they had she clearly seems fine" he gestured over to where you were sitting a little further away, breaking your pastry up into small bits to eat as you laughed with Marlene over some joke he couldn't hear.
"Don't you think she should apologise to him by now, they always make up eventually"
Lily dropped the exasperated expression as her face turned to stone while she spoke her next words.
"Yes, James, she seems fine. I found her crying her eyes out on the bathroom floor. Just because she is coping better than Remus doesn't entitle him to anything. "
James's overconfident demeanour dropped slightly. He had been worried about his friend all this time, he hadn't stopped to look at how it affected you. But when paying closer attention he could see Lily was right, there were bags under your eyes and they were still a little red, you must have cried even more after the night Lily was talking about.
"You know I care for her as well, but Remus is being stubborn, he won't even talk to us, won't even tell us what happened, we just thought that if she saw the state he is in, she'd maybe forgive him, get through to him"
"There is nothing to get through about. He broke up with her, now he's suffering the consequences, good riddance if you ask me"
Now it was James' turn to look startled
"Hang on a second. They broke up?" Lily copied his expression
"Yes they broke up, what did you idiots think was going on"
"We figured they fought, they fight sometimes but they always make up" Lily started shaking her head as she answered him.
"Not this time, he broke her heart, James. Even if he did regret it, I'm not sure she'd forgive him, and I don't think she should either"
Taking a last look at you, James bolted from the table. All this time they had simply assumed he was irritable because of a fight, but you had broken up. Not only that, it was Remus that had broken up with you. No, this would surely not do, not if they could help it.
Over the next few days, they came up with a plan to, in the easiest of terms, get Remus to beg for forgiveness. It all started with the party
"I'm really not in the mood Sirius" Remus was stretching time the most he could, but Sirius wasn't letting up.
"You've been cooked up in that bed for nearly two weeks now, people are starting to wonder if we've killed you with one of our pranks. Besides, if nothing else there'll be liquor, liquor solves everything"
Normally Remus would have argued, but strangely enough, this time Sirius had a point. But Sirius had a mission too. Yes, he was following the plan step by step. He had talked to Marlene, who had promised to get you to the party as well, which was probably a much easier task than he had been left with, seeing how after last week you had decided it was no use sitting around moping any longer.
He dragged Remus down to the party going on in the Gryffindor common room, poured him a glass of the strongest thing he could find, and got him settled on the couch. For a moment he debated getting Remus to dance, but that might have been a bit too ambitious. Either way, Remus was here now, Sirius's part was done.
Remus saw you standing on the other side of the room, and either you hadn't noticed him yet or you were simply ignoring him, but you seemed to be in your own world. And he was fine with looking at you from where he was, after all, that's the fate he had resigned himself to. He was fine with watching you because you seemed like you were enjoying yourself.
But it didn't take long for his so-called plan to crumble down like a poorly constructed house of cards. Because he saw someone walk up to you, he saw someone get close to you, someone who wasn't supposed to.
What was Evan Rosier doing at a Gryffindor party? But he didn't have much time to think about it, because he saw Evan walk up from behind you, and at first you seemed startled, but when you turned around to face him you seemed to light up. You pushed up on your toes to hug him and Remus's stomach started to twist. Not in the way it always used to when it came to you. His insides used to do somersaults every time he got a smile out of you. No matter how sour of a mood he was in, it would light him up.
His friends used to poke fun at him for it, but they soon realized you were the only thing that would cheer him up when their usual methods had run out, and they surrendered to the spell you seemed to have him under.
But this was nothing like that. Evan secured his arms around you and you let him, why did you let him? He knew he had been avoiding you, but he couldn't have missed this much. He sat there and watched, his body seemed to have turned to stone as if you had been Medusa herself. His eyes he couldn't keep off you, it was only when Evan pulled back that he thought the nausea that had bubbled up in his stomach would disappear, but he couldn't have been more wrong. Because the moment he did, Evan took off his jacket, and put it around you. The green colour of it engulfed you and Remus was filled with it just the same.
He felt as if he wasn't in control of his own body as he stood up from the couch, walking in your direction. He wasn't even sure what he would say, what he would do, but he could no longer sit and watch idly. So when Remus reached you he did the only thing that made sense to him, he pulled you in and kissed you. He kissed you like he had thought about doing every minute for the last few weeks. He had wondered if your lips were still as soft as they used to be, what a stupid question, he thought now, of course they were.
For just a second his life is back the way it should be, you're kissing him as if it's pure muscle memory, and perhaps it is because only a moment later you seem to come to your senses and pull away. But you're still looking at him, and your eyes have him just as Enchanted as the first time he saw you. He recognizes a small sparkle in them and promises himself to make it ablaze again.
"Can we talk, please" He is ready to get down on his knees and beg you, because he doesn't know if he can stand being without you anymore. He would drop to the floor and grovel for your forgiveness if that was what it took, but of course, you don't make him. Even before he's always been ready to tear his heart from his chest and give it to you the moment you requested so. He would watch it continue to beat as he ripped it out because by now it was entirely yours anyway, it wouldn't stop as long as you were near, wouldn't dare let you down.
You nod your head to the stairs leading up to the dorms and he walks with you until you're in the dorm, the door shutting behind you. He wants to push you up against the door and trail kisses down your neck like he used to, but he can tell you have something to say, so he sits down on the foot of your bed, trying not to fidget with his hands too much.
"You really hurt me Remus" The way your eyebrows slightly pinch together and the slight pout on your face makes him once again regret every single word he uttered that night. He's trying to think of what to say, how to continue. Because he's gotten this far and he's determined not to mess up again. But what is there to say, what can he say other than the fact that he's sorry, which seems like too much of an understatement for the situation he created.
"I know" is all he can come up with, and it's true, he spent so much time thinking about what he had done and how it had hurt you.
"I don't know if I'm ready to just move on as if nothing happened"
"I know" Remus wants to smack his own head for his response. This was his one chance to make it right and he couldn't even form a coherent thought.
"I'm sorry" is all he can say next, and he wants to smack himself again for the oversimplification. But you look at him as if it's enough, as if you know the weight those words truly hold behind them. He wouldn't be surprised if you could see right into his mind, you've always been able to read him so well.
"Please let me make it up to you, I promise I will" You look at him again, and walk closer to where he is sitting.
"How exactly do you propose to do that?" Your tone has shifted, and he's still nervous, but no longer for the same reason. It's the kind of nervous jitters he still gets when he's close to you, the kind that makes him want to pin you down underneath him and spend eternity looking at you. Except this time he's not sure what to do. He usually knows exactly what you want, has got your body memorised like a map that leads to treasure. But now he needs to tread more lightly, not taking any chance of having read it wrong.
But you walk towards him until you've slotted yourself between his open legs, and he knows it is all going to be okay, because you start to softly move your hands through his hair in a way that makes his head spin, and he grounds himself by pulling you closer, hugging his face to your stomach. He lets himself enjoy it for a few seconds before he remembers the promise he just made.
He starts to leave small kisses going up your torso, and ghosts his fingers over the back of your thighs as you're still standing in front of him. He holds your body closer to his and hears a small moan leave your mouth. And it's only softly, but he hears it, and it’s his sign not to stop.
His hands move with a mind of their own, trailing further up until he reaches under your skirt, finding the soft flesh of your ass and giving it a gentle squeeze before he retracts one of his hands to slap it. And now he’s sure, because the sound that leaves you is no longer hesitant, it's pleading. He grabs onto your legs and flips you over onto the bed behind him, your head hitting the pillow as he hovers over you.
You move to kiss him, and he doesn't dare refuse. It’s different from earlier, more desperate. Not only his but your emotions showing through it, it's harsh, too much teeth, too forceful, but he can't find it in himself to mind. He kisses you back with just as much passion, and while he could spend eternity like this, he had something else in mind for now. So he moves his lips down your neck, and you arch into him immediately, giving him better access to the spot he’s looking for.
“Remus please” he doesn't need to be told twice, not today at least. His hands inch up underneath your shirt, delicately moving it up your body until it reaches your head, and you don’t hesitate to shrug it off and throw it off the bed. He’s enthralled for a moment, the sight before his eyes so familiar yet so captivating.
He makes quick work of his own shirt and moves back to leave open-mouth kisses down your chest as his hands once again travel down. But he doesn't make you wait long, because it’s followed by him moving your underwear to the side, sliding his fingers over your folds, feeling how wet you already are for him. His mouth is still busy on your chest, reacting to the sounds you make as he’s sucking bruises into your skin. With his free hand he tugs down your bra, finally giving him full access to your chest. The moment his mouth grazes over your nipple you moan out his name and he starts circling your clit before inserting two of his fingers into you. Your body immediately remembers the feeling and he can feel you already starting to clench around him, but he’s not about to question it. He’s still using his thumb to trace patterns onto your clit as he moves his fingers in and out of you, searching for the spot he knows will make you see the stars. He curls them once again and from the sounds leaving you he knows he’s found it, relentlessly hitting it as if it's his only goal in life, and right now it is.
It doesn't take much longer until you’re panting and writhing underneath him, and he has to use his free hand to pin your hips down on the mattress. As moans and whispers of his name continue to stream from you he wonders how he ever thought he could make peace with never hearing you say his name again, but he doesn't dwell on it for long as he feels you spasming around his fingers, clenching as if your body is trying to keep him there. He coaxes you through it until your breathing turns back to normal and he pulls his fingers out, hovering back over you as he cleans them off with his mouth, humming at the taste.
You’re starting to come back down from your haze and he can feel your hands travelling over his body before one of them drags over the bulge in his trousers. The friction makes him close his eyes and sighs, dropping his head in the crook of your neck. You’re trying to undo his belt when he snaps back to reality, catching your hands in his own as he stops you.
“What’s wrong?” The concern in your voice makes him want to soothe away any worries you might be carrying, and he’s quick to tell you.
“Nothing’s wrong darling, I’m just not finished apologizing yet.” It’s not that he doesn't want to feel your hands on him, pumping him as he loses his composure, but he’s already painfully hard from making you cum on his fingers, and he wasn't finished.
And so with a final kiss to your lips he shifts back down your body until he's face to face with your pussy. You’re fidgeting underneath him and he uses his hands to lock your legs in place, holding them open so he can do exactly as he wants. He starts by tickling your inner thighs with kisses, enjoying the feeling of your skin against his. Normally he would take his time, get you desperate underneath him, but he’s the desperate one now, so he doesn't waste any more time. His tongue flattens out over your entrance and a whine of his name leaves your mouth, followed by more moans that make him rut into the mattress, seeking for some friction of his own.
He distracts himself by massaging the fat of your thighs, trailing over the stretch marks he adores. You're rutting your hips into his mouth and when your hand finds purchase in his hair, tugging on it as his tongue enters your folds, he no longer tries to hold back. His attack on you is so sweetly malicious, your taste intoxicating hum further than any liquor could, he grinds down and moans into you. The vibrations make your breath hitch and he can feel you getting close again. The soft pleas and whines coming from you are a melody he will orchestrate for as long as he can, his nose bumps against your clit as his tongue is still busy lapping up your juices and it makes you twitch under him.
“That's it darling, cum all over my tongue” He's craving it just as much himself, every shaky breath from you and every time he feels you clench he gets closer to his own high. All he wants to do is get you there so he can let go himself. He doubles his efforts, remembering what you like, listening to your body react, and with his mouth still busy between your legs you suddenly go still, your body motionless except for the small flexes of the muscles in your thighs. He knows better than to stop, coaxing you further until the filthiest of moans come from your mouth, relentlessly thanking him, although he's certain he should be the one thanking you.
He's still chasing your sweet taste as he can feel his cock straining impossibly hard, the tip pulsating as he finds his own release, too caught up in you to even care that he is coming in his trousers, whines leaving his mouth as he still laps up anything you give him. He doesn't stop until you push his head away and he glances up at your face, a thin layer of sweat glistening above your eyebrows. You're radiating pure ecstasy and he can't help but smile at the sight. You silently ask him to come up by tugging the back of his neck towards you and he wouldn't even dream of doing anything other than complying.
“I've missed you Remmy” it's barely there, your voice a whisper in the now quiet room, but it's more than enough for him. He leaves featherlight kisses over your face, from your forehead to your cheekbone and finally finding his final destination on your lips. It's soft, sensual and full of pent up emotions and apologies, but the way in which you settle yourself next to him, cuddling into him with a content sigh as if he's the puzzle piece you fit next to let's him know that despite everything, you'll always find your way back to each other, even in the most desperate of times.

Reflections 2
Tumblr media
She held her sword high, it's smooth, polished blade like a beacon of light beaming into the early morning sky. The light from the sun reflected off the blade brightly onto the ground below her. She had done this many times before, more than she could feasibly remember. The rush, to see a wicked foe's life be undone, untangled and laid simple and bare before her. The tightly coiled knot of past crimes, hatreds, and misdeeds pulled apart for all to see. Both hands gripped the handle of her beacon of justice and vengeance, tightening and itching. This would be so easy.
"STOP!" Vantis, the elder priest, shouted sharply at her. Elysea snapped back into the moment. She found herself standing tall over a wounded Garlean scout, laid out on the ground. Her boot pressed against his chest. The boy, barely an adult, stared up at her. His eyes were wide in absolute terror, his lips quivering, his trembling hands up slightly in a feeble attempt to shield himself from her final killing blow. Tears streaked down the boy's cheeks, backwards, into the soil behind his head. His shivered breaths filled the air between them, sharp and sudden, accompanied by slight whimpers. He fully expected to die in this moment.
"Remember your oath, Elysea!" the priest yelled again, this time in a softer tone. She whipped her gaze to him, an expression of animalistic rage. The red faded from the world, and she saw the green trees, the gray stones, the brown robes of the priest. His pale, wrinkled face. He had his hands outstretched to her carefully as he approached. Behind him, the refugees that she had sworn an oath to lead and protect, some armed and on-guard, and some cowering and hiding amongst the trees behind them, all watched her.
"He surrendered. It's over," he said to her again. The few other Garlean scouts that had not surrendered decorated the landscape in a display of bloody, righteous carnage. It was at that point that she noticed their blood all over her, coating her sword, hands, arms. She felt it on her face, in her hair. Her muscles ached, and her heart beat in her chest with a ferocity that she knew all too well.
She unclenched her jaw, unfurled her brow, as her eyes dropped to the boy underneath her boot once more. But her sword stayed in the air, her white-knuckled grip quivering, expecting. She let out one long, sharp breath. It might have been her first breath since the battle started. Like a resignation. She felt the old priest's wrinkled hands wrap around hers, and gently lower the sword to her side.
"You saved us. None of us were hurt. It's over." he whispered close to her ear. Elysea's long ears, perked in high alert, dropped softly behind her head. Her shoulders and neck slumped, and the grip on her sword loosened. The priest slowly took the sword from her hands, and her arms slumped to her side. She removed her boot from the boy's chest, which prompted the first quick sigh from the boy, but also the armed refugees swooping in to begin restraining him.
With her rage subsiding came the pain. Some of the blood coating her was her own. She was wounded, she realized, and she fell to her knees, her own tears now mixing with the blood on her cheeks, but there was no crying. The priest dropped her sword onto the forest floor, and attempted to keep her from falling, but she was too heavy for the frail old man. As she felt herself begin to faint, she watched the sun rising from between the tall evergreens of highland Dalmasca. Her consciousness slipped, and as it did, she heard a voice from her past.
"It doesn't matter how many lives you take. It won't bring her back, it won't bring any of them back..."
((I post things out of order, forgive me. This is a flashback to Elysea's recent past, when she was leading a group of Dalmascan refugees to Eorzea. The refugees had only heard of her bloody exploits as a resistance fighter and second-in-command under Dalmascan knight and royalty, Danian Fal’thahn. But they had not seen her in action, the pure viciousness and hatred that she holds in her heart for the Garlean occupiers that uprooted her life, and killed her sister and fiance. Deep down inside, a part of her had grown to know that this was wrong, and that she needed to learn to control her rage. Vantis, a refugee priest from Rabanastre, acted as a mentor to her during their exodus out of Dalmasca, and a person that she owes a debt of gratitude for saving her life previously. She learned to do so, with time, and their guidance.))

So the battle against Anders is off to a good start.
Tumblr media
Holy shit. Paladins, man. O.O
But we got them in the end. A pitched battle, full of blood and rage - and at the head of it, Karlach, maul swinging, full of the desperate fury of a trapped animal.
As the last of them falls, she comes to a halt over Anders' body and stares down at him, shoulders heaving, the maul fallen to her side, loosely gripped in one hand.
Cautiously, Hector approaches - the heat that always exudes from her is intense now, pulling the skin on his cheeks and forehead.
And he realizes she is crying, her breath turning into shuddering, shaky sobs, the tears sizzling on her cheeks and evaporating into the shimmering air.
Tumblr media
"Fuck them," she gasps out. "Fuck Zariel. I won't go back. I'm *never* going back!" She rounds towards Hector, eyes wide and frantic. "And if any of mummy's little friends want to pick up where the others left off...they'll find nothing but a pile of ash!"
Her voice rises to a yelp of fury and fear. The heat grows even more intense. He raises a hand, reaches out cautiously towards her, feeling rather as he did trying to calm the owlbear, maddened with pain, in that cave out on the roads. "Zariel won't get near you again," he says softly, trying to soothe her agitation, to bring her out of the bloodrage that the battle drove her into. "We'll make sure of that."
She nods vaguely; it's clear she's only half-listening, caught up in her own whirl of thoughts. A slightly crazed smile touches her lips.
Tumblr media
"That's right," she answers, her breath coming in shaky hiccups now, the bright glow in her chest pulsing erratically. "She won't. She can't. She couldn't even lay a finger...ahahaha...ahahahahAHAHA!"
The laughter is touched with hysteria, and he can hear under it all the grief from the wounds Anders' words opened in her before she killed him.
She whirls away, slams her maul into a nearby crate, smashing it into pieces, and fire bursts around her lighting into the shattered wood. Gale yelps as a bit of the flame catches the edge of his robes and surges over his arms.
Tumblr media
Karlach hardly notices. She is in a frenzy now, all the bottled up tension finding a release valve in destroying every crate, barrel, and box in the place. With every step, she leaves a trail of ash and flame. The heat in the place is tremendous; Hector squeezes his eyes shut against it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then...as quick as the storm came, it's over. Karlach comes to a halt, and the flames and heat around her begin to fade, and she sags as all the rage goes out of her, leaving only the grief and the exhaustion.
She sinks down to her knees on the stone floor, staring down at the maul in her hands. "That ought to do it..." she mutters shakily.
Cautiously Hector approaches her again, kneels at her side. The heat is down to a manageable level, like sitting close to the fire at camp. Flame dances along her skin, but the rhythm of the glow in her chest has steadied.
Tumblr media
"Felt good letting off a little steam after facing off with this ignots," she mutters. A pause, then she looks around, noticing the patches of still-burning ash, and Gale looking somewhat miffed as he pats out the singed edges of his robes. "Granted," she adds somewhat sheepishly. "The fire lasted a little longer than it should."
Tumblr media
He has a thousand questions he wants to ask, but none of them seem appropriate for this moment. "How could you withstand the heat?" he finally asks softly. Even now it seems as if she should be falling to ash before him...
She thumps a hand against her chest, and the sound has a slightly metallic ring under her skin.
Tumblr media
"Hear that?" she says matter-of-factly. "Infernal engine for a heart. Lets me burn as hot as the Hells." She frowns, glancing down at the glow still pulsing, silhouetting her ribcage. "Seems to be running in overdrive since I left Avernus." Then, indomitable, another grin peeks through, and she shakes her head. "Won't be seeing my mechanic any time soon, so I'll just make the most of the extra heat. Just..." She hesitates, and her eyes flick to the burned place on his arm where she grabbed him briefly during Wyll's torture. "Don't get too close, 'til I've found a way to calm it down."
Tumblr media
Hector stares at her. This...certainly answers some questions he had, but it does so by opening up a whole new set. "How...the hells did you get an infernal engine for a heart?" he asks, somewhat faintly.
Tumblr media
She closes her eyes and puffs out a heavy breath. "High pain tolerance," she says bitterly. "And a dynamic duo of truly shitty bosses. But..." She trails off, smiles at him again, but he can see the effort behind the switch this time. "It's a bit early in the game to be getting into tragic backstories. Let's save the scar-show for later, after we've worked up an appetite for tragedy."
To be honest, it seems pretty salient to Hector right now, but he doesn't push her. After the show she just put on, giving her some space seems like the right call.
Tumblr media
"Meanwhile, I'll need to find someone who can tune up my engine sooner rather than later. Believe me when I say this thing is *hot*."
Hector can't believe how matter-of-factly she speaks of it. If it is even a tenth as hot within her chest as it feels in the open air around her, how is she not constantly howling with agony? He can't help a wave of admiration - and sympathy - for the level of self-control and stoicism that must be going into her every waking moment. He isn't at all sure how to articulate it to her, but perhaps the respect shows in his eyes.
Tumblr media
"The first time I faced down those paladins," she goes on thoughtfully, "they let slip there was an infernal mechanic in the area. A tiefling. He might be able to stabilize things - if I can find him."
Hector glances at Gale and Shadowheart, sees them both key in on this as well. They too have registered the misery the thing must be causing her - and this seems like a possible lead to helping her with it. It is, perhaps, indicative of how much Karlach's good humor has already impressed itself upon them that the idea of not devoting time to this doesn't even seem to occur.
Tumblr media
"There are some tieflings holed up in a druid's grove nearby," Hector points out. "We might look there."
The flash of gratitude and eagerness that leaps onto Karlach's face at this news feels like repayment for all the trials of the past hour. "Sounds like a good lead. Hopefully, our guy will be among them. A tune-up would do this old tub a world of good."

Monster Hunter AU
Got this on ask game from @cupcakes-and-pain
Cw: guns, off screen murder, captivity, wounds, dehumanization, fantasy racism, stress position but not quite, sleep deprivation , pet whump kinda
From time to time he shakes uncomfortably, but can't move much last he might be seen.
His knees are already bruised and scraping on the hard stone floor, and his shoulders hurt from holding this position, but worse is his hands.
They already feel stiff and painful, a finger resting over the trigger, because there's simply no time to lose in this job.
But for now, it's a game of waiting, until the creature finally decides to show up. He will be ready when it does.
A strand of white hair escapes his ponytail, dangling in front of his eyes. He fits it back behind his ears, without breaking his line of sight. He needs to know. He needs to see.
Later, he bites his cheek and tongue until they bleed, the pain only able to do so much against the sleeplessness. If he dozes off, he's sure to fail his mission.
Finally, the dawn approached, and the creature made no move. Against better judgment, Haru gets up, quietly moving from his hiding spot.
If the thing isn't coming out, then he's going in.
He quietly leaves his hiding spot, hood covering his hair from the moonlight, as he approaches the house.
It's an old, rundown thing, in a forgotten neighborhood with many just like this. A tiny ghost town, between the slums of a big city.
With his gun in hand, he pushes the door open, keeping his back to the wall. He doesn't see the creature, so he steps inside.
He hears it. If he didn't know better, he'd say it sounds like crying, and walks towards it…
He steps on something…wet. His heart sinks when he looks down, adrenaline rushing in his veins.
The thing he was hunting is dead on the floor. Killed by blunt force, with a strike on the back of its head.
And this means that he has no idea what is making the noise in the other room. And not knowing your monster is the biggest threat to a Hunter's life.
He could retreat. Study this situation, maybe call for backup. It would be the smart thing to do.
But he doesn't. The night it's almost ending, and most monsters are weaker in daylight. Besides… it didn't seem like it was killed by anything spectacular. Blunt force is a weapon even humans can use.
So he steps into the other room, with the soft whimpers, a flashlight in hand. He shines towards the noise, and the creature lets out a cry.
It's making itself small, in a corner of the room, and it is hurt, cowering from the barrel of his gun. While mostly human, he can still see it's a werewolf, declawed, bleeding, scarred and afraid.
Cornered dogs bite, he knows that. But this one… is terrified of him.
They stare at each other for a moment, and it curls up. It's hugging something tight.
"don't move" he demands, only making it whimper louder.
"...take… t-take care… of her. You… You can, can me… But promise… promise she'll be okay "
Haru frowns. He slowly reveals what he's holding, a purple rabbit plush. And he keeps on sobbing "She's my, my best friend. Her name is, is Bonnie. Blue doesn't, d-doesn't want it to be alone… when Blue is gone. Please? Promise? Blue won't attack… blue just… wants to know she, she will be safe"
…he readies the gun. It gets desperate.
"P-please sir… please. Don't leave her alone in, in this dark… dark place" he crawls forward and chains clink making Haru flinch back.
"I SAID DON'T MOVE"
But the creature all but ignores that, crying, lifting the doll up to him, desperate for him to take her.
"she's my only friend… p-please… she's a good girl"
He tries not to let it get to him but… it's a miserable sight. The chains are hooked to nothing, like he just escapes. But his wounds are fresh.
He can picture what could have happened here, with this poor, tortured creature, killing its captor.
But he's a monster… and Haru shouldn't feel empathy for it. No matter how heartbreaking are it's cries.
Maybe… killing it would even be a mercy. And yet… his hands are shivering in the trigger, like they never did before.
It's… easier to do when he knows the crimes they have committed.
"You s-said… she's… Bonnie?"
And that's probably his biggest mistake, today. He emphatyized. He talked to it. And it makes his face light up.
"Yes. Will you keep her, her safe, sir?"
He pushes her more towards him. Haru doesn't take her. He lowers the gun.
"I will" he promises.
He'll keep both of them safe.

Like Princess ( Final draft)
There's a beautiful girl named Cinderella. She is in high school and has two older sisters. She's trying to go to high school because her family is poor, but she's also trying to work. She works in a pizzeria to support her family. But her sisters do nothing to help their family. Cinderella hates herself because her family doesn't treat her the same way as her two older sisters, whereas she makes the biggest sacrifice of them all. She can't accept it, she doesn't want to accept that she is not her parents' favorite child. She doesn't want to accept it because then she will be thought to be malicious. However, he doesn't think that he is a food soul, in fact he knows and feels that he has a better heart than most people in the world. All she wants is to be loved, all she wants is to be loved, loved, loved.
On her sister's graduation day, she is getting ready because she is going too. She has made a dress for herself.long dress in baby blue makes her feel like a princess for a moment. And she has a court shoe that she thinks are special to her. For the first time she feels happy and peaceful. She thinks something good will happen to her today. Her heart is pounding. After she and her sister are ready, her father drops them off at the graduation grounds. Her father said only one sentence to Cinderella: Come home before twelve at night. And he left them alone. Cinderella was overwhelmed with excitement, it was the first time she had been in such a crowded and splendid setting. As Cinderella looks at the people around her, she comes face to face with someone. Tall, very handsome, the love of the school and also the one her sister has been in love with for 4 years. Because she knows that. She had overheard what her sister had told her friend and it was exactly the same as what her sister had told her. " When his sister locks eyes with Cinderella, he tells her that she is "my love" and "I won't let anyone, including you little devil, take her away from you." Graduation is over and the after-graduation party begins. Cinderella and her sister are next to each other. At that moment, the boy starts coming towards Cinderella. As he approaches, all Cinderella thinks is why is my heart beating so fast, why, why? I don't believe in love at first sight. It's impossible to fall in love at first sight. I feel myself starting to sweat and tremble. At that moment, the man came to her. He said to her sister: Hello Anastasia, you look very beautiful. But who is the princess next to you? Can I dance with you later, turning to Cinderella? Anastasia's face begins to change. She feels like crying, suddenly she walks away. And they start dancing. Cinderella thinks, "Am I falling in love? But I shouldn't have done it, I shouldn't have betrayed my sister. They danced for hours until 11:55. At 11:55, when Cinderella stopped dancing and tried to leave the party, while leaving the party, her court shoe took off at that moment. But, she didn’t care it. The only thing her mind was to leave the party. Boy grabbed her arm and said, "Where are you going? Did I do something wrong? Please don't go. And Cinderella says: "I'm so sorry, I have to go." and the boy raised his voice and said, "I was wrong, you're not a princess, you're a coward. Then Cinderella starts to cry.
As soon as Cinderella gets home, she tears her dress and has a nervous breakdown. She immediately takes a sleeping pill and tries to sleep. At 3 a.m. she hears the sound of a stone hitting the window of her room. When she gets up and looks at the window, she sees him with her court shoe. Yet his eyes are red and swollen, his hair is disheveled and he scratches his body with his fingernails in anger. Finally he opens the door. I'm sorry if I did anything to upset you. I didn't mean it. I just think I'm in love with you. I mean, no girl in the world has ever made me feel this way. The moment I laid eyes on you, I felt different. You made me feel like a prince. Can I be your prince by wearing these high heels? And Cinderella, with great courage, permit it,hugs and kisses her.

     So, when I was digging through my drafts I rediscovered a bunch of stuff I never posted, which is pretty par for the course for me honestly. Most of it has to do with an AU I never really talked a whole lot about here;
Flourish, a direct parallel to Regrowth.
Ages ago I shared a concept of Ceara’s design as a Thief Deadeye, but I don’t think I ever really gave context for how-- or why-- that happens. And boy it’s... Quite a story, actually. It’s effectively a butterfly effect of sorts; one in which she never becomes Scarlet Briar, and the world is much different because of it.
One choice influences another influences another, leading to a complex, interwoven domino effect that reshapes the world itself into something much different. A better, happier, more peaceful world, where even the weeds can find a place to grow.
And yet, the more this world flourishes, the taller the flames will be when it burns. What will you do when the softness to which you’ve grown so accustomed is stripped away, leaving nothing but bare, hard stone in its wake?
They say that hard ground makes for strong roots. When the time comes, will yours be strong enough to withstand the storm?
I’ll give a summary down below, but under the cut since it’ll be pretty long.
AU basics; some of the Firstborn make an effort to connect with Ceara on her own terms... and in return she starts offering some of the knowledge she's gaining from studying asura tech around Caledon Forest. Gradually she winds up bonding with them, one foot in the Dream, one foot not.
It all starts with a single, pivotal choice; Caithe made the same decision the Commander can in her memories, just one subtle act of genuine curiosity and interest... And that act is returned in kind. Sometimes, that’s all it takes.
Because of that, an entire butterfly effect ensues from Ceara’s actions moving forward;
Ceara, having eventually bonded with the mysterious nightbloom, decides to follow in her footsteps and become a Thief. She starts with a pair of pistols then eventually adopts a rifle as well, becoming one of the earliest Deadeyes. Despite quickly gaining quite a reputation as a swindler and cutthroat, none can deny her effectiveness as a fighter and a tactician in the art of war.
She finally tells them her Dream, and the story it tells. She doesn’t care about following it, but finally places enough trust in her kin to not force her hand.
Ceara tells a story of death, destruction, and war. Of interwoven thorns, waiting to entangle her should she stray too far before she’s ready. Of the shadow of dragons that are not hers to fight, and the nightmares they will set upon this world. Nightmares she will face, and guide others against in turn.
She Dreamed of the battles that will succeed because of her command, and the impossible choices no one else can make in her stead. And she knows, deep down, that her decisions will determine the future of many, many people, most of whom she will never even know.
She Dreamed of the power to change the world, for better or for worse.
And that’s where everything really starts to shift.
She accompanies Saoirse's Wyld Hunt against the Nightmare Court, having been encouraged to keep an eye on the inexperienced saplings and help advise them. Her squad, including Gavin, is never captured. Saoirse doesn't leave the Dream to become Soundless. Gavin isn't converted to Nightmare.
Ceara eventually joins the Whispers. Saoirse joins the Vigil. Pirkko joins the Priory as usual.
The three work together much better due to their shared history, and as a result Claw Island is better defended. It isn’t overrun with Risen, though the fighting is still fierce. All is not lost, and the undead are driven out.
Sieran, Tybalt, and Forgal all survive.
All of them take up important roles as the Pact forms. Trahearne remains as the Marshal due to his neutrality and Orrian expertise. Pirkko becomes the Commander as usual. Saoirse and Forgal organize troops on the ground. Sieran assists in the studies of magic artifacts and Zhaitan’s interest in them, while Tybalt works with covert groups involved in scouting terrain and enemy positions.
Then there’s Ceara, the Pact’s Head Tactician. Brutally efficient, and to many, seemingly heartless. She doesn’t care for the Commander, an upstart taking on the role she feels she should have had instead... All because Pirkko Dreamed of slaying dragons and she didn’t. Her resentment leaks out in bitter words, disdainful remarks about this reckless fool who throws herself into danger headlong without a single thought to the consequences.
Yet, over time, they get to know each other better. Pirkko comes to understand someone who, not unlike her, was drawn into a difficult position through circumstance and now has to make careful, calculated choices that will decide who lives and who dies. And Ceara sees someone who took her role not out of a duty to the Dream, but because of the compassion in her heart and a genuine desire to help others, no matter the cost to herself. Neither can bear to let down the people who need them.
They’re very different, but perhaps not as different as they’d first thought.
Ceara cares too, much as she hates to admit it. She just has a far different way of showing it.
Together, the Pact finally does the impossible. Zhaitan is slain, and for a time, some semblance of peace seems to take hold. There are still more dragons to slay, but now they have something they didn’t have before.
Certainty. They know it can be done.
But everything starts to go wrong around the time of LW2... Because, this time, they have NO warning that Mordremoth is stirring or what it can do. Ceara is never claimed by the dragon. Scarlet Briar never ravages Tyria. There are no Aetherblades, no Molten Alliance, no Toxic Alliance, and no Watchknights. When it starts to reach out, whispering, clawing, grasping, none are the wiser.
A lot of the main people in the Pact are sylvari. They have no idea.
But this time, they all have each other... And they’re much stronger for it.

Chapter 46: Soul Link
Chapter 45 | Masterlist | Chapter 47 | Words: 1,499
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N's POV
Within an instant of my eyes closing, I'm waking up in a vast, empty space, basked in an orange glow.
Am I dead?
———
"Y/N, my sweet girl..." I hear a gentle voice—it can't be—coo from behind me.
"Mama?" I whimper out, as I scramble to my feet, and turn to face her.
"Yes baby, it's mama." She cries out, while opening her arms for me to run into.
I crash into her, as the tears flow freely, and I inhale her calming scent—the one I'd forgotten over all these years.
"Ho-how are you here ?"
"The soul stone, it's granted this minuscule visit, my love we don't have long." Mama whispers out.
"I miss you so much mommy, I'm so sorry for what happened, I —."
"Hey, my sweet girl, this was never your fault. I'm sorry, I failed you, a mother's job is to protect her baby, and I couldn't even do that. You shouldn't be sorry, stop apologizing to those who don't deserve it. I'm so happy to see your brother and you finally reconnected. I was in the process of learning to astral project just so I could slap him upside the head."
You chuckle at the remark, pulling your face back from her chest slightly to get a better look at her.
"Baby, I'm so proud of you, through all life has thrown at you, you've managed to hold onto your heart. You never became hard, or rigid, but I want you to also remember that anger's healthy too. I know I taught you to forgive, but you also need to hold people accountable too. Never let anyone walk all over you, because my baby..."
She lifts her hands from behind your back and up to cup your cheeks.
"You're the most powerful person I've ever laid my eyes upon; you're mama's fiercest girl."
She sadly smiles down at you, as she places a grounding kiss to your forehead.
"I love you mama." You cry out, slamming your face back into her chest.
"And I you, my darling girl... Now go, that redheaded beauty of yours is in rough shape."
"You've seen her ? You've seen my Natty?" You gasp into her chest, not daring to let her go.
"Yes, and she's perfect darling, I can't wait to see the grandkids, all I ask is that you pass my name down in some manner..." She says, and you giggle into her chest.
"I tried to watch over her while you were trapped. I'm really proud of the family you've found, I trust them with you." She continues.
"Thank you mama... I love them so much.."
"Trust me darling, they somehow love you more than I ever deemed was humanly possible. Now go, and kiss my grand baby on the forehead for me!!!"
You smile, realizing that any minute now you'll be reunited with your littlest love, Morgan.
You pull back from her embrace, pulling back with her hand entangled with yours. She widely smiles at you, then squeezes your hand three times, which you mirror instantly.
"Goodbye, my beautiful girl, be good, and I'll see you on the other side."
"Goodbye mama, I'll see you again one day." You sadly reply, as tears stream down your cheeks, and your mother's retreating form fades away.
Wanda's POV
"Y/N!" I shout, unaware of my new surroundings, completely focused on finding her, as red tendrils flow out of my hands at the uneasy feeling that’s blooming within.
"She's not here sestra..."
No... Absolutely not... What kind of mind game is this...
"This isn't a trick." He mutters, as if it's him who can read minds...
"Then what is it?" I growl, as I turn to face the sound.
Upon seeing his features, ones that have slowly faded over time in my memory, I can't hold in the sobs. He approaches me tenderly, and pulls me into his strong arms.
"It's a gift, the soul stone, it allows this connection to the soul world for those that use it. Granting you access to what you needed most. I'm not sure mama and papa won't be butthurt, but who am I to care when I'm fortunate enough to hold you once more, huh?"
I chuckle against his chest, before I then slap him upside the head.
"What was that for?" He whines.
"Dying!! Leaving me all alone with the American's..."
"You had the Russian spy!"
"The Americanized one!"
"You seem to be doing just fine."
"Look at us, not even two minutes in and we're already arguing." I laugh out
He pushes me back lightly, against my protests, and just stares down at me lovingly.
"Piet, it's really good to see you, I miss you everyday..." I solemnly state.
"I know, but it seems as if you've found my match in that blonde girl." He chuckles out.
"Yelena... Yeah, she's a handful.. Once her and Y/N team up, I'm usually in for it."
"Y/N, you really love that girl, huh?"
"More than I ever thought possible. It's like my soul is drawn to her, and it feels like it's on me to protect her. She just brings me this immense comfort, I'd do just about anything for that girl... All of my girls actually, but only Y/N gets to feel that special."
"I'm happy for you, truly. You're living the life I always dreamed for you."
"Yeah, it's not complete without you though.."
"No time to dwell on the what if's, I'm proud of how I went out. That little boy, he's living a good life, and Clint's got his family. I know I did the right thing, even if it hurt the person I loved the most, it was what had to be done."
"I know, I've come to terms with your sacrifice, the big picture eventually presented itself to me."
“What’s the bigger picture with you dating the robot huh? What even is that?” He laughs out boisterously, as I step back and kick him in the shin.
“How much longer do I have to stay here with you?” I playfully grumble, then jump onto his back.
He laughs, then races around at his supersonic speed, while I hold on for dear life.
“I’ll see you again one day, little sister.”
“It was only by ten minutes.” I reply with an eye roll, then I bear hug him one final time.
Carol's POV
"Danvers!"
No freaking way...
"Rambeau?”
"I miss you so much." I cry out as I pull her in for a tight hug
"I miss you too, but I need you to focus up, we don't have long." Maria cries out, but quickly regains her composure.
I look into her eyes, to see a fierce determination present, so I focus in.
"Monica's going to be distraught, when she returns to find I'm no longer there. You'll probably be the absolute last person she wants to see, because she felt like you abandoned us. She obviously doesn't know that you were the one who held me when I went, and she won't care all too much either. She's stubborn that way, much like her mama, you know that..."
I chuckle at the remark, wiping at the tears on my cheeks... It's the truth, there's no woman more hard headed than the one stood before me.
"That doesn't matter though, because she loves you all the same, so please! Break passed her walls, be there for her, and tell her that I love her dearly. Remind her that she carries me inside her heart, and that I'll be watching over her from the skyline. Tell her that the brightest star in the sky, flashing at her, will be me waving.”
“You have my word, and my heart.”
“So cheesy.” She laughs out, then pulls me back into her embrace.
I pull back, to place a kiss to her lips, then lean my forehead to hers while tears stream down my face.
“I love you, Danvers.”
“I love you too, darling.”
“Until we meet again.” She whispers, pecking my lips once more, then fading away as she walks off.
Nat's POV
Y/N, Wanda and Carol are thankfully all still breathing, but that does little to bring me any peace. Once their eyes are open, I'll be calm.
Tony flew them to the local hospital that Cho runs, utilizing the emergency facility we put in place for if the compound was ever under attack. Yelena and I raced their in the stingray, and have been by their sides ever since.
I’m currently sat on the couch, listening to the corresponding beeps on the heart monitors, with a sleeping Yelena’s head in my lap. Stroking through her hair gently, and cherishing this blissful moment, fighting my body as to not close my eyes in fear that this is just another vivid nightmare. My attempts prove fruitless, as I eventually succumb to the exhaustion, and I drift off into a dreamless sleep.

Chapter 6 - Once a Promise, Always a Promise.
When you wake up, you get your ass beaten up by an unknown woman.
You awaken all at once, advancing against the woman who was watching you sleep. Her surprise only lasts a second, however, as the next she returns your blow and knocks you to the ground, a gun pointed straight at your face.
Wide-eyed, you realize where you are and raise your hands.
"Sorry, sorry." You can quickly. "I thought I was in the lab again. Who the hell are you by the way?"
The woman raises her eyebrow at you.
"Cap, get over here before I shoot her."
And the next second, a blond man is running into the area of the ship where you are, looking worried.
"Let's all calm down, okay?" He asks as he sees the gun extended, and waits for the woman to put it down. You sigh lightly, rising to stand up.
"I'm sorry I attacked you, Miss." You ask as soon as you are on your feet, and massage your shoulder, which hit the ground hard when she knocked you down.
"It's fine, you just got beat up anyway." She teases, making you give a short laugh.
You were about to ask if they could let you off the ship anywhere, but a low groan of pain beside you caught your attention.
Just then you noticed the man lying on the stretcher next to you a few feet away, a large wound in his rib. You are also able to notice the rest of the ship, there is a man piloting a few meters away, and two men sitting further ahead, talking to each other.
"Hey, I can help." You stated immediately, but as soon as you moved, the woman stood in front of you, looking at you with suspicion and defiance, and you swallowed dryly. "I-I can heal him." You clarified, but the woman only changed her posture when the man next to you touched her forearm.
"Can you do that?" He asks you, and you nod. You wait for the woman to take a step back to approach the man on the stretcher.
"Hey, are you guys sure of this?" The man lying down asked uncomfortably, and you raise your hands in the air.
"Hi, I'm Y/N, I won't hurt you, I promise. "You guarantee it." Can I heal your injuries?" You ask and wait for him to confirm.
The wound is deep, but you have dealt with much worse.
"How did you do that?"
"It was nothing." You say as you put your hands down. His skin was completely intact again.
"This sure is cooler than lightning, huh, Thor?" Commented the blond as he sat down on the stretcher, clearly feeling better. The long-haired man at the back of the ship looks at you curiously as he stands up, and when he notices his colleague completely healed, he looks impressed.
"This sure is an interesting skill for a mortal." He says to you, and you don't know exactly what to make of those words, but you don't have time to comment, because he is already approaching to introduce himself. "My name is Thor Odinson, god of thunder."
You frown.
"G-god of thunder?" You repeat confused. "Sorry, is that some kind of joke?"
The woman next to you giggles, moving to sit on the stretcher next to the man you healed. The blond man in front of you looks slightly offended, but his expression softens immediately.
"I understand that at first, mortals may be incredulous at such a..."
"No, I just thought the title was funny." You interrupt the blond man, surprising him. "You guys are the Avengers, aren't you? My master has already told me about you."
“Your master?”
It is the other blond guy in the blue uniform who asks. You mentally repress yourself.
"Damn, sorry." You say. "It's what I used to call the soldiers and doctors who gave me orders."
"Your files say that you disappeared in Sokovia when you were younger, and what we found at the base were the records of the experiments they did on you." He adds, and you twiddle your fingers nervously. "I just want to make sure you're not going to try to bring the plane down with everyone inside."
The attempted joke is enough to make you smile, but you are beginning to feel overwhelmed. You really were free. After all this time, the idea seemed almost absurd.
You try to control your emotion at once, and the man seems to notice, because his expression softens immediately.
"Hey, come have a seat." He asks, signaling to one of the empty chairs, and you obey. "My name is Steve Rogers, and I promise you're safe now. Hydra will never hurt you again."
You nod frantically, feeling the tears in your eyes. But you try to normalize your breathing, not wanting to cry in front of strangers.
"I'm sorry, I just... I've just been trying to get away for so long." You confess next, wiping your eyes quickly. "It's weird to think I succeeded."
"We are going back to the Avengers tower now. Is there anyone you would like to get in touch with?" He asks, and his words make your stomach sink.
"Yes." You say. "But I have no idea where they are."
"Who? Your family?"
You give a short laugh.
"Yeah, I guess so. They were..." You start trying to remember exactly. You didn't even know how long it had been since the time you saw the twins at the Hydra base. You had no idea if they were alive, but you wanted to believe they were. Taking a deep breath, you continue. "They were my friends. Wanda and Pietro, we grew up together. They... I saw them once. When I still had the serum in my head. I..."
Seeing your difficulty in organizing your thoughts, Steve interrupts you by touching your forearm.
"It's okay." He says. "We'll find the twins."
"So they really are alive?"
Steve smiles.
"Yes." He answers and you feel your body relax all at once. "They ran away, I imagine they were scared, but we'll find them."
You gasp, unable to control your tears. Neither Steve nor the rest of the Avengers seem to care.
When you calm down, Steve introduces you to the rest of the team.
You are not exactly happy to meet Tony Stark. The mention of his last name makes you frown, because you know it was a Stark bomb that blew up your home at Sokovia, but when you accuse Tony, he seems really upset.
"Well, I guess you can get on the list of people who hate me then." He grumbles and you cross your arms, the whole team sensing the tension in the air.
"You could at least apologize for blowing up half of Sokovia with your weapons." You retort angrily, and the man rolls his eyes, not getting up from the armchair you were in.
"Sure, no problem. I'm sorry, kiddo. Happy?"
You clench your jaw, but before you can say anything, Steve steps forward.
"Tony, try not to be a jerk, okay?" The captain speaks and the other man lets out a wry laugh. "Have at least some respect for the girl's story."
"I have respect, Captain." He assures as he stands up, looking impatient. "What I don't have is time to revisit the past while our enemies get more and more powerful." He says and you frown in confusion. "I've already banned weapons production in the industries, and we've already taken on Hydra in that place. Now we can move on, because I need to get back to the compound and understand exactly what that thing is."
He speaks and finishes by signaling to the opposite side, and it is only then that you notice the shining scepter on the far side of the room and let out a surprised exclamation, taking three steps backwards.
"How did you guys get this?" You ask horrified and the team looks at you curiously.
"Have you seen the scepter before?"
"Of course I have!" You reply. "That's what gave me the healing! The damn stone went through my chest."
Thor steps forward, looking at you in surprise.
"So Hydra were able to decipher the scepter?
You laugh humorlessly.
"If by decipher you mean press the scepter against my chest while preening me in an iron chair, then yes." You reply, but take a deep breath to calm yourself. "A yellow stone came off as soon as the scepter touched me. And well, it went right through my skin. When I woke up, I could heal. But whatever it is, it killed all the soldiers who were holding me."
Thor seems to consider your words as Steve tells you that he is sorry for what you went through in Hydra.
Suddenly you remember where you first saw him.
"The man on the bridge!" You exclaimed, surprising him, but you were getting your memories gradually, and your heart was racing. "You are Captain America.... My god, where is Bucky?"
"Great, another fan of the metal arm." Tony comments sarcastically, but no one seems to care.
Steve looks at you with a frown.
"Is he safe? Is he free? Can I see him?" You ask promptly next, and Natasha chuckles.
"Hey, calm down." Steve asks and you swallow dryly, trying not to feel so overwhelmed with so many memories coming back at once. "How do you know Bucky?"
You blink in surprise.
"He...he didn't talk about me?"
It takes a second, and then Steve's eyes widen.
“Oh my god, you’re the guardian!
"I am what now?"
Steve lets out an incredulous laugh.
"The guardian." He repeats as if you were going to understand what he meant.
Natasha clears her throat.
"Captain, perhaps you'd better explain." She asks and Steve gestures quickly.
"We've been looking for you for months." Steve then adds, causing you to widen your eyes in surprise. "Bucky he... he's been trying to find you since he escaped. But he didn't know your name. All he knew was the nickname you got from the soldiers. The golden guardian of death. It's been our only tip to find you."
"I thought it was just golden guardian." Clint adds next, Nat makes a noise of agreement.
"No, I'm sure it was just Guardian of Death." Thor comments, but you are barely listening to the teasing, feeling your thoughts racing.
Steve raises his hands to your shoulders.
"Thank you so much for saving Bucky." He says before hugging you. You feel your neck heat up at the sudden contact, but do your best to reciprocate.
Steve lets you go then, smiling.
"He's going to be so happy to see you."
"Where is he?"
"At the compound." Steve replies. "He cannot attend field missions, it's part of the pardon. It's too much bureaucracy to explain now.."
"I think he's just lazy." Tony adds wryly, making the Avengers giggle.
And Steve's smile dies briefly.
"What's with you today, anyway, Stark?"
Tony sighs impatiently, finally rising from his armchair.
"I'm sorry if I'm not reacting in the way you consider proper captain, but I'm concerned about getting to work soon." He says as he moves toward you two. “I need to find out what this thing really is.”
"No, Stark, you won't touch this." It is Thor who announces, and all the avengers look genuinely surprised.
"I beg your pardon?" Stark retorted, but Thor didn't hesitate before he looked at you next.
"Describe to me again how you got your healing, mortal."
You sigh lightly.
"They locked me in an iron chair and brought the scepter." You narrated. "But they lie me on the chair next, and I could only feel the metal against my skin, and then I saw a yellow light. Something went right through my chest, and then right through." You say. "I blacked out for a second, the room was completely empty like a vision. When I blinked, it was back, but all the soldiers holding me were dead. And then they knocked me out."
"Before you said you saw a yellow stone?"
You nodded in agreement.
"I dreamed of this memory for several days." You clarify. "I was back in the room, but this time I watched myself. I saw when they put the scepter to my chest, and when the golden stone came out and went through my skin. It was the stone that released the wave of energy that killed the soldiers .I don't know why I didn't die too."
"A single blow that killed a group of soldiers at once." Thor mutters more to himself than to the rest of the teams. "It's decided then, no mortal must touch this. It's clearly far more power than anyone should have."
"This is ridiculous." Thor accused the next moment, making the team look at him curiously. "You can't just deny knowledge about something like that and..."
"Why are you so insistent on this, Tony?" It's Steve who asks suspiciously. Tony sighs, and gives a short laugh.
"You guys are unbelievable, you know." He says. "I'm trying to find new alternatives to our problems."
"What problems?" Steve asks with a confused grimace, and Tony rolls his eyes, looking nervous.
"Our enemies, Captain!" He snarls. "In case you haven't noticed, it hasn't been too long since we faced an army of robots coming from a hole in the sky!" He accuses. "We don't have the power to face this kind of thing. The scepter is exactly what I need to prevent the worst from happening."
"Where did that come from, Tony?" Steve retorted confused.
Stark gave a short laugh, rolling his eyes.
"I don't have time for this." He grimaced and moved to grab the scepter, but Thor stood in the way, arms crossed. "Really?" Tony impatiently charges, but Thor doesn't move. Stark clenches his jaw before declaring angrily. "I had a vision, okay? I saw all of us, defeated. Defeated because we didn't have the power to win. And I... I could have prevented it."
The avengers look as confused as you are, and remain silent. Tony sighs and runs his hand through his hair.
"It was New York again, but this time the enemy won." He continues, visually upset. When he lifted his face in Steve's direction, his look was angry, but his eyes had tears in it. "And you told me that I could have stopped it."
“I wouldn't do that.” Steve says. “If we ever lose, I wouldn't blame you, Tony.”
Tony gives a short laugh.
“Wouldn’t you really?” He retorts. “I’m pretty sure you would, cap.”
Steve takes a step forward, his eyes soften as he looks at his friend.
“I promise you, Tony. If we lose, we lose together.” He declares. “That’s what being an Avengers means. I’m sorry if I was not clear before, and made you feel any different than this or…”
“Stop it!” Tony angrily interrupts. You flinch because you think you saw a familiar red light in his eyes. “Cut this sentimental crap, Steve. I’m just trying to do what’s necessary here.”
“Back off, Stark!” You order as you noted how he has moved his wand to the scepter, he seems surprised by the action too. You move in his direction as he takes two steps back, looking irritated. You gave him no time to answer however, as you raise your hands over his head and touch his forehead with your fingers before he can complain.
Immediately, you can feel the remnants of magic on Tony's head. You don't recognize it at first, but as your own magic removes the other energy, you sigh slightly. It feels familiar, but you don't know why. The energy is still harmful though, probably due to the intention of the one who cast it, but you manage to clean it all up.
You succeed because you coordinate your magic to wipe the other energy like you usually clear and heal wounds, and it seems to work, because Tony raises his hands to your wrist, his wide-eyed eyes soften and he looks almost startled.
"I'm sorry." He asks and swallows dryly. You remove your fingers from his forehead completely, watching with curiosity. He takes a deep breath, blinking several times as if waking up. "I'm sorry, everyone, I... Damn, it was like a horrible dream. I need to lie down for a minute."
And with that he leaves.
You don't ask questions anymore, because Steve is going after him, and you are trying to figure it out why you still feel the unknown magic tingling at your fingertips, as if it is trying to merge with yours.
//-//
You cry when you see Bucky again.
He lets out a disbelieving laugh, and then he's running up, hugging you tight.
Your conversation is long and intense, and is almost mostly made up of gratitude.
The other Avengers seem very happy to see the whole interaction, especially Steve.
Tony isolates himself in his room as soon as you arrive, and Thor looks upset. He and Bruce discuss something, and then they go to talk to Tony.
You don't pay attention because you are listening to Bucky tell you about getting all his memories back, and living with the Avengers since you helped him. He was now free from Hydra's control, and was pardoned by the state on condition that he was no longer the Winter Soldier.
Nat also added in his narrative the information that he and Steve were "making fondue" and the joke made him laugh with red cheeks but you didn't understand what that meant.
You are very happy to see him, but you can't help but think that he was not the one you wanted to find when you were free.
When he introduces you to the rest of the compound, and to your room, you hug him in appreciation, and you both exchange a knowing look, finally acknowledging that you are safe.
//-//
Your first night in the compound is a strange one.
After meeting the whole team, who were polite despite having fought you a few hours ago, you received a full meal and then locked yourself in your room.
But you were not used to having such a soft bed, not even before Hydra, so sleeping seemed kind of impossible.
Figuring that the Avengers wouldn't mind you taking a late night stroll, you left your room.
"Are you lost, girl?" A female voice suddenly sounded making you jump in fright. It was Natasha Romanoff, or as she introduced herself earlier, Black Widow.
"S-sorry, ma'am." You retorted clumsily, and the woman raised her eyebrows at you. "I can't sleep."
"First, I'm not old, so don't call me ma'am." She commented wryly, and you tried to smile. "Second, I know the feeling. If you want, I can distract you."
Your last social conversation with a woman happened a long time ago, and then you find yourself asking:
"Are you inviting me to have sex?"
Nat lets out a surprised laugh, crossing her arms.
"Where did that come from?" she asks, and you scratch your neck lightly.
"Sorry, I learned how to talk to women from television shows that Hydra soldiers watched in the labs. Bad references. What did you mean by distracting me?"
Nat laughed, impressed by your words.
"I meant like have some tea and tell a story." She clarifies, not sounding the least bit upset. You put your hands in the pockets of the pajamas you've been given.
"R-right. That sounds more appropriate." You mumble with flushed cheeks, eliciting another laugh from the woman. As you begin walking side by side, she comments.
"You know, I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with you around here. You are just as awkward as Steve and Bucky."
You end up hearing a story about agents in Budapest, but it seems Nat doesn't tell the whole story. It's nice, though, you missed talking to someone.
"That thing you did earlier with Tony, that was really cool." Nat remarks after a pause in silence.
You take a sip of your tea after shrugging, but she seems inquisitive.
"How did you know it was Maximoff who messed with his head?"
You almost choke at the sudden mention of the name and Nat's watchful gaze makes it impossible to disguise. You sigh.
"I... They are my friends." You confess looking down at the cup, "Or they used to be."
Raising your gaze to Nat again, she only seems curious to know, and you shrug slightly, deciding to trust her.
"We grew up together in Sokovia." You count twirling your fingers on the handle of your cup, "They were the only family I had in the orphanage. And well, it was for them that I broke into a Hydra building."
Nat listens to your story intently, and you swallow dryly before continuing.
"When they captured me, the serum, it... well, it didn't exactly leave me conscientious." You try to explain. "It was like pushing all my memories away, my mind would become completely empty."
“"Is that what they did to Bucky?" Nat questions and you shake your head.
"No, they used electric shock on Bucky." You return with a grimace. "With me, they couldn't hurt me permanently, so they needed something that would make me obey without me being able to heal. It was like being drunk, I guess, only much worse."
“I’m sorry.”
"It 's fine.” You say with a sad smile. “I was dumb enough to go there, i knew the risks.”
“Don’t say that.” Nat asks with a serious voice. “It’s was not your fault they torture kids.”
"And whose fault is it, then?" You retorted, upset, with yourself more than with Nat or anyone else. "My friends for being stubborn idiots? Of Stark for throwing a bomb in my building? I'm tired of looking for reasons to justify what happened to me. Nothing is enough, and I just want to see my friends."
Nat sighs lightly, and raises a hand on the table to reach for yours. You want to hold back the tears, but they are already falling before you can do so.
"I promise we will find your family." She assures you tenderly, and you feel your heart soar at the possibility.
You nod in understanding, taking a deep breath to stop crying.
Nat squeezes your hand, and it takes a moment for you to speak again.
"Wanda." You begin, and almost sob. It has been a long time since you have spoken that name. "She... She must have gotten her powers the same way I did." You say trying to remember everything you witness in Hydra at that moment. "I remember the soldiers talking about the twins being the only ones to survive the stone besides me."
"From Shield records, we know she can manipulate energy and Pietro can run really fast." Nat informs as she releases your hand. She sits thoughtfully for a moment."Maybe because you all got the magic through the same source, you can heal what she can do to Tony's mind. But that's not really my area, maybe you should talk to Thor as well."
You sigh lightly, wiping away the remainder of the tears falling on your face.
"I will." You say. "But I want to find Wan-the twins first." You correct yourself quickly, hoping Nat doesn't notice your flushed cheeks. She does, but says nothing.
"Try to get some rest." She asks as she picks up the teacups. "We have a party coming up, and then Thor is supposed to return to Asgard. I imagine you will want to have a little chat with Bucky before you return to Sokovia."
"I would go back to Sokovia right now if you ask me." You mutter making Nat chuckle lightly. "But I don't want to disturb any of you. I've waited for a long time, I can wait a little longer."
When Nat turns around after putting the glasses in the sink, she has a soft expression.
"You are not a nuisance here, kid." She assures with a smile. "We've just been caught a little by surprise with a new person, but it will be a pleasure to help you find the twins." She says and then has a mischievous expression. "I shouldn't tell you yet, but Steve is pretty excited about the whole thing. He wants you and the twins to join the team eventually."
"Really?" You ask in surprise and Nat just mumbles in agreement, still smiling.
She turns around on the countertop and before she leaves, she turns to you.
"If you ask my opinion, you seem to care a lot about both of them." She says. "I think that no matter how much time has passed, or if they are fighting on opposite sides, she will be happy to see you."
You swallow dryly, looking away.
Nat smiles one last time before leaving and you twiddle your fingers nervously, sitting for a while at the table before returning to your room.
With much to think about, you are surprised that you fall asleep almost instantly as you lie down.
//-//
The Hydra serum is still in your system.
You realize it in a rather embarrassing way actually.
After waking up on the couch, you went to the kitchen.
Bucky tells you that all the team is having a meeting and they will join you two soon, so you just lay against the wall while he reads the newspaper out loud for you.
The Avengers stay in the meeting room for a long time, and don't seem very pleased when they leave, but Tony seems intrigued.
You are surprised that he comes to talk to you as soon as he sees you.
"I didn't thank you for yesterday, kid." He says with a smile. "Whatever you did took away that bad feeling. Now I can work without having to hide that I'm trying to help."
You didn't quite know what to respond, but it didn't matter because Tony was patting you on the shoulder before smiling contentedly at the rest of the team.
"While I figure out a way to decipher the stone, which won't be hard since I'm incredibly smart." He begins his speech, causing the group to let out debauched laughter. "You guys can get busy with whatever old people do for fun. Except you Thunderlord, I'm going to need your help in the lab."
"Wow, Tony Stark asking for help." Thor teases and you watch the interaction with a smile on your lips, moving to join the table. "What a little magic doesn't do to your head, heh?"
"Don't tease me, Thundercat. I'll throw you out of this building, and you won't get any breakfast." He says with false seriousness and you laugh lightly as you pour yourself a cup of coffee. "Hey, kid, give me some too?"
"Ja, Master." You respond mechanically, perhaps even a little sleepily. The Avengers look at you with curiosity and confusion as they see you mechanically pour the coffee, and hand it to Tony, who looks shocked.
"He is not your master, kid." It is Natasha who breaks the silence, and you blink in confusion looking around for a moment.
"R-right." You say. "Sorry about that, Tony. Old habits I guess."
Tony thanks you for the drink, and you think the subject is going to die, but then Natasha keeps looking at you.
"Hey, Y/N, come over here." She asks and you move immediately. Shit. Natasha raises her eyebrow. "Take two steps to the left." Your body obeys. “Now to the right.” She asks and you obey again. This is terrible. The widow looks at you impressed.
"That looks bad." Tony quickly mocks before waving for Thor to accompany him to the lab, justifying that they should get to work soon.
Nat continues to look at you incredulously, but then Steve gets up from the table as well and snaps his fingers in front of your eyes, making you jump in fright slightly. He assumes a worried expression afterwards.
"You are obeying our orders as if we were your masters." He says. "Let's go see Bruce in the lab, he'll want to run some tests."
When you reach the lab, and Steve explains to Bruce what happened at breakfast, you are not surprised that he puts needles in your arm. You hope the news will be good when he finishes assessing your blood.

"I won't let anyone hurt you, you're safe with me" with eivor please... Maybe he rescues reader from the order after they had been used for different experiments or something
i am so sorry for how long this took, but I had to come up with the right plot bunny to pair with the prompt for some angst(tm). here you are, i hope you enjoy and don't mind the touch of Havi and Frigg, or in which Havi makes a promise to his sweet Frigg and keeps it even in the next life.
m!Eivor x fem!Reader
SÝNIN CIRCLES IN the clear sky above the longhouse of Ravensthorpe, and then you know your husband is not far now. Soon Eivor Wolfsmal will be back in your arms, where he belongs. The raven descends, coming to perch on your shoulder, nudging his beak against your temple —as much as you’ve missed Eivor, you’ve missed Sýnin in equal measure. Things could get surprisingly lonely without a tetchy raven around to croak at all hours of the night, steal your hairpins, and beg for treats. Reaching up, you scritch the blue-back feathers on his belly and are rewarded by a low, gurgling croak. “Have you been behaving yourself?” Sýnin bobs his head, but you have a gut feeling he’s lying for the chance at a few extra treats.
Taking to the docks, you watch along the river bends for the sail and masts of the longship. The blue-and-back sail and shields turn from the west —squinting, you can see him standing on the curved scorpion tail, looking onward to home. With a nervous smile, you rest your hand over your belly, knowing soon it will start to grow. You’ve much to tell him since he’s been gone the past weeks, building alliances with Saxon nobles across England.
“Eivor, my love,” you call, meeting him at the edge of the dock as he steps off the longship. His smile is tired but relieved when he looks upon you with Sýnin perched upon your shoulder —the best ‘welcome home’ he could ask for. You open your arms, embracing him as the crew disseminates among the settlement. Eivor pulls back, his hands —rougher than you remember— cupping your cheeks.
There’s something different in your expression, a new glow surrounding you that he cannot place. Regardless of his racing mind, he leans forward as you urge him down with a hand at the nape of his neck. It’s been weeks, and he sighs against your mouth, the burdens of the world washed away by your touch and kiss. “Walk with me?” You ask, holding fast to his hand. He nods, offering his arm. Word of the recently secured alliance can wait; he has been parted from his wife too long.
You lead him past the longhouse, the people of Ravensthorpe smiling as they see Eivor has returned and know what it is you’re going to tell him. Once Valka confirmed your suspicions, it hadn’t taken long for word to travel by way of two mischievous children.
Everyone is happy; and happy for you and Eivor, knowing you two had tried to conceive many times. Stopping beneath the great tree past the Seer’s Hut, you turn with a smile —hand settling on your middle. “I’ve good news to tell you.” Eivor lifts his brow, and your smile only widens as you reach for his hand, pressing it against your belly. He sucks in a deep breath, heart thudding in his chest and ears as he looks to you, his clear blue eyes wide with joy and surprise. You nod, resting your hand over his. “I am with child.”
Eivor is silent for a moment, gathering his words and emotions. He looks down at your belly, then back to you —overjoyed and uncertain. This is a moment you’ve only ever talked about; that he’s dreamt of when the gods were kind enough to let him have a good dream. “I’m going to be a father?” Eivor breathes, though it sounds more like a question. You nod again, eyes gleaming with tears as he rests his other hand on your stomach too. His smile too large to be hidden under his shaggy golden beard. There’s another moment’s pause, then Eivor slips his arms around you, bringing you into a tight embrace —his face tucked into your neck.
You lose track of how long Eivor holds you in his arms as if it all is only a dream and he may wake at any second. Stepping back, he takes your face into his rough hands, brushing away the tears streaking your cheeks. Eivor dips his head down, his nose brushing against yours before your lips meet —gentle and loving but still burning with fervor from the weeks of being parted from one another.
“You’ve made me the happiest man in Midgard,” he admits. You lean into him again, taking another kiss before he settles onto one knee in front of you, level with your belly. Eivor rests his forehead against your front, his hands loosely holding onto your hips. “Rest easy, little one.” Smiling, you brush back his golden hair —half-unbound from his warrior’s braids and knotted. “I will protect you and your mother.” It’s a promise.
“EIVOR,” RANDVI CRIES as he enters the longhouse, tears still fresh on her cheeks. She should not have let you go riding outside of Ravensthorpe alone, especially knowing you were with child. He clasps onto her shoulders, steadying her so she can gather her senses. “It’s Fulke.” The script is fresh in her memory, having read it a dozen times over to be certain of the ill-boding tidings. Randvi shakes her head, unable to meet her friend's concerned gaze. “She’s taken more than just Sigurd.”
“No,” Eivor breathes, but Randvi presents the scroll as proof. He skims the words —his worst fears coming to fruition. Not only did Fulke hold his brother captive, but now the conniving bitch had stolen you away too. You. His wife. The mother of his unborn child. He’d sworn to protect both of you with every breath in his lungs, and now it is an oath broken.
The sudden anger boiling under his skin is so hot it burns the fear freezing him, turning to determination. Eivor crumples the parchment, his expression twisting —no god can save you now, Fulke. “Send word to our allies.” Randvi nods, stepping back to the writing-table at the edge of the map room. “I will burn all of Wessex if I have to,” Eivor grits out, hands turning to fists at his sides as he leaves the longhouse to gather his men —a part of him feels as though he has walked this path before.
HAVI STRIDES THROUGH Fensalir with a deep sadness in his heart, but his agony cannot compare to that of his sweet Frigg. For three days and three nights, his queen has asked for solitude, and though it pained him to keep away during such times, he and the others respected Frigg’s wishes. Though Havi would not leave his dear wife to grieve alone, sending Huginn and Muninn to keep a watchful eye over the Queen of the Æsir. The two ravens are perched upon a stone bench at the edge of the fen. Thor glances over his shoulder at the approaching footsteps —his expression is weary and grief-stricken as he looks upon his father.
Gently, your son releases you from his tight embrace and rises, stepping back with a silent promise to return soon as he greets his father with a solemn nod before leaving. Havi pushes back his hood, seeing the white flowers spring from the earth with your tears. Baldr will be remembered —in deeds and songs and the blossoms brought forth by his mother’s tears. He kneels, reaching for your hands, and slides the bloody sprig of mistletoe free from your grasp. Through weary eyes, you look upon your husband —his expression twisted into the same display of forlorn grief. It makes your heart ache even more to have pushed him away, for he too lost a son. “Frigg,” he sighs.
“Havi,” you cry, falling into him. He swathes you in his black cloak, tucking you against his chest and holding you tight —a vow of retribution on his tongue. Loki would be punished for this crime. For all the realms felt the bitter void left by Baldr’s absence, and all wept, save for a giantess whose unshed tears doomed your son to Hel. The grief and anger simmering in his blood turn to something else —determination. He will not have his sweet Frigg endure this pain again; his one-armed embrace tightens as he cradles the back of your head. “I will not let another of our children fall,” Havi swears, lips brushing over your temple. “Not until our twilight has come.”
HE TWISTS HIS hands into Fulke’s leather-and-cloth armor, throwing the madwoman to the muddy and blood-slick ground. Fulke spits blood, pulling herself away from Eivor Wolfsmal on hands and knees only to find herself surrounded by his men and allies. All their weapons drawn, trained on her. The price for taking the Jarl of Raven Clan and Eivor’s wife is one to be paid in blood, and there is nowhere for her to run. She will have to suffer the wrath. “Where is she?” Eivor roars, kicking Fulke onto her back. He kneels, knee pressing into the bloody gash on her side, one of his throwing axes withdrawn and held high above his head —ready to strike.
There is no fear in her eyes, only bliss. Her work in this world now complete. “You made a choice,” Fulke laughs, choking on blood, “you chose Sigurd.” She coughs, blood-tinged spittle spattering against Eivor’s face, washed away by the pouring rain.
He roars, teeth bared and eyes burning hot with the rage of the gods. Lightning splits open the sky, thunder cracking like a great whip against the earth. “I will flay the skin from your bones and feed your eyes to my raven,” Eivor hisses.
Her smile is bloody —victorious. She knows you are leagues from here, and now the only ones who know are dead or dying. Eivor Wolfsmal could search the land for years and never find the seaside cave on the shores of Cent. “You’ll never find her,” Fulke says. One final victory before relinquishing herself to darkness and her wounds.
Eivor rises, his shoulders heaving and expression twisted. There is no time for a reunion when Sigurd limps from the fortress —clutching the stump where his hand and wrist once were— reinforcements from Wincestre draw nigh. The cry of war horns and drums echoing above the storm. He turns to Dag and Hrefna, eyes flitting over to his brother, unfit to fight in the coming battle. “See him back to Ravensthorpe,” he tells them before shifting his attention back to his allies. The day is not won yet, and Eivor will not rest until he has his beloved back in his arms.
ABOVE THE BREAKING waves of the sea, there is a whisper on the howling wind. Eivor looks to the sea below, then to Basim —his scouts working tirelessly since the siege of Portcestre nigh a fortnight ago to find leads. The culmination of their work leads him and Eivor to the southern edge of Cent to a cave guarded by Fulke’s acolytes. Eivor knows the gods are with him this day, as plain as if the Allfather whispered the affirmation into his ear.
The echoes of battle fill the air, and through the slivers of light above, you see shadows moving and hear the unmistakable cry of a raven growing closer —Sýnin. Rousing from uneasy rest, you clamber to the upturned bucket at the cell’s center, dragging chains behind you. Trembling, you clutch your swollen belly, then step up onto the bucket, fingers finding purchase on the metal grate above, slick with blood and excrements. Sýnin appears at the edge of the grate, his beady eyes staring down at you in the darkness, tilting his head this way and that. He hops up and down —talons clinking against the metal— before squawking wildly.
Eivor’s focus shifts from the dead littering the beach when he hears Sýnin inside the cave, and for the first time in weeks, you hear your name in his voice —a desperate plea. “Eivor!” His name is only a soft, airy rasp, not strong enough to carry with the raven’s calls. “Eivor!” You cry, this time louder, but your voice is broken, throat raw from days screaming and crying at the hands of Fulke and her enforcers. Sýnin’s squawks grow louder, mingling with footsteps.
The wave of relief almost shatters him when it hits and washes over his body and mind when he sees you —alive. Eivor reaches through the lattice, his fingers brushing against yours. “I’ve got you now,” he breathes, the torchlight showing the tears glistening in his clear blue gaze. You nod, smiling with cracked lips —thanking Frigg and Freyja that your prayers did not go unanswered. Eivor urges you to step down and aside, and when you do, he rears back, slamming the butt of his axe against the rusting lock, breaking it. With a sharp cry, he throws open the grate, sliding down into the darkness with you.
Hands trembling, he unlocks the manacles around your wrists and the shackle around your ankle. Each has left your skin red and raw beneath. Eivor gathers you in his arms. “Let’s get you out of here,” he says, lips brushing against your temple. You nod, eager to be rid of this damp and foul hole in the earth. Sýnin takes to your shoulder as soon as you are free, nudging his head against your temple and cheek. With a tired smile, you lift a hand to scritch the dark feathers of his underside as Eivor pulls himself free of the cell.
Eivor kneels, reaching for your hands, his thumbs brushing just above the broken skin on your wrists, and as you lean toward him, he swathes you with the coarse wool of his cloak —forehead pressed against yours. He feels the dampness on your cheeks as you press your face against his scarred neck. "I won't let anyone hurt you again,” he vows, “you're safe now.” One of his hands settles on your stomach, and you cover it with yours, holding him tightly with the other. “You’re both safe,” he whispers, and it’s only when he feels a light twitch against his hand that the realization breaks him. “I’m so sorry, my love,” Eivor chokes.
You draw back from his embrace, seeing the tears streak his face and the guilt clear on his expression. “Don’t blame yourself,” you plead, cupping his scarred cheek. “Please, don’t.” Eivor nods, though guilt still weighs heavily on his heart and will until he sees you safely returned to Ravensthorpe and tended to. He turns farther into your hand until his lips brush the center of your palm —a soft kiss, another promise.
Sýnin croaks, splashing in a puddle, and breaks yours and Eivor’s trance, reminding you both that you’re still in a cave, far from home and where you belong. He slides his arms beneath your knees and around your shoulders, rising with you. “You’re safe,” he repeats, more for himself to hear than you. Eivor breathes a deep sigh when he steps onto the beach, holding you close in his arms. Sýnin flies overhead, as do a pair of ravens — the same pair Eivor has seen in dreams of late. He smiles as he sets on the path carrying you up the cliffside, knowing Havi and Frigg had both heard his prayers.

The King wasted no time. After getting you back, he immediately scheduled the coronation, as he couldn't wait to call you his Queen. The Castle was in a frenzy, the sound little frog feet slapping against the marble floors echoed in every division. Seonghwa refused to have the coronation in the same room where he got married, he didn't want to re-live the awful moment when his wife got stolen from him... So the maids and butlers found new decorations, moved the paintings and transformed another one of the King's dark and cold rooms into a place worthy of a welcoming party.
"Let's do it in the throne room. Place her throne by my right." He had said.
The tradition was for the throne to be moved in front of everyone present, so they could witness the changes and their new reality first hand, but Seonghwa was a little tired of following tradition.
You and him stood in the middle of the throne room, with every single maid and butler running around frantically, trying to get everything done on time. You looked on proudly, enjoying the way it was all coming along.
The excess of red and black was gone, it was now balanced with white and gold, and with the new paintings and lights giving the room a new life it looked like a completely new place. The blinds behind the throne were finally opened, revealing the most beautiful stained glass images. There were four people, who you assumed were Seonghwa's family.
You reminisced the first time you had come to that room, panting and confused, standing in the dark, cold room being judged by the merciless man Seonghwa once was. The contrast was almost unbelievable, but you were glad you had gotten this far.
You felt a pair of arms wrap around your figure and a chin on your shoulder.
"I'll have it replaced. First, just the two of us, and then, once we have our little prince, or princess," he paused, caressing your stomach, where you'd carry your future child "I'll have it replaced once more, with a full picture of our family."
He kissed your cheek and you smiled.
"But Seonghwa, are you sure you wanna take down the picture of your family?" You questioned, feeling honoured yet a little wrong, replacing the original King and Queen.
He stood straight, and his cheerful expression was immediately replaced by one of pain and confusion, remembering all of the memories alongside those people.
"Why not? They have given me nothing but a lifetime of suffering, you have given me nothing but happiness and a chance of redemption. You deserve to be up there, immortalized, as a part of the new Royal family."
"Thank you..."
That was all you could say, as there were no words that could possibly describe how you felt.
One of the maids stole you away from your husband for a second, so you could change from the dirty, ripped-up wedding dress for the new ceremony. She helped you switch to a princess-style dress, all in red silk. The revealing heart-shaped neckline was covered with black lace, that extended all the way to your hands and wrapped around your index finger.
"You look lovely, Miss." The maid said as she fixed your hair.
You thanked her with a small smile and headed towards the throne room. Usually, it would be packed with people, but due to the previous altercation, the only people attending the coronation would be the castle staff, aside from the knights who were assigned to protect the castle during the event.
You carefully sat on the throne, feeling Seonghwa's eyes (or... eye) inspecting you. He leaned over, so he could whisper in your ear.
"You look marvelous in red."
He sat back straight in his throne and smiled at your shy expression. A tall man soon entered the room holding two boxes. He opened one of the boxes and slowly (and carefully) placed the crown on the King's head. It was exaggerated, yet classy and sophisticated like Seonghwa. You could tell it had been specially done for him.
"We shall now begin the coronation of Miss Y/N." The man announced.
He opened the box in front of you, revealing the most beautiful, victorian crown. It was made up of white gold and adorned with the most beautiful red and white stones.
"I hereby declare, by the powers given to me by His majesty Park Seonghwa, the new Queen of Wonderland, Queen Y/N."
The man slowly placed the crown on your head, and it was a perfect fit. He stepped away so the painter could see your smiling faces, as he immortalized the moment on a canvas.
The castle staff smiled and cheered for you, their new Queen.
"Bring her!" The King shouted, and the whole room froze.
The thought on everyone's mind was 'Who's her'.
The heavy doors to the room opened, and a chained woman, dressed in a black cape with her white, disheveled hair showing stepped in, with the help of two guards.
"Unchain her."
The guards obeyed the King, and unchained the woman, who rotated her wrists with a sigh of contentment.
"Finally, what do I owe the honour, Sir?"
The crowd in front of you looked on, petrified. Who the fuck was she?
"Undo the room." Seonghwa commanded.
"Hm there have been some changes, I see." The woman said, her voice cracking mid-sentence.
She looked at you, with her bright purple eyes, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Yes, there have. Now please do as I asked."
"Very well Sir."
The woman removed her black cape, revealing a small, crooked young-looking woman. She lifted her hands in the air, creating a small green fog in her hands, that she aimed at all beings in the room. The people, who were previously humanoid frogs, were turned back into their original form. Tears of happiness formed in everyone's eyes and cries of thankfulness echoed in the room. One maid approached you and knelt by your feet.
"Thank you... Thank you so much!"
You recognized the voice, it was the maid that had thanked you the other day for staying with Seonghwa, and the one that usually helped you dress. You smiled and held her hands.
"No need to kneel around me Miss, thank you for your hard work."
She bowed to you as she walked back to cheer with her peers.
Seonghwa stood up and held out his hand for you to take, and so you followed.
"Iracebeth, follow us. You two," the King said, looking at the two guards who had brought the witch "make sure everyone is gathered at the town center by the time we arrive."
The guards nodded and immediately headed out. Seonghwa took your arm and started walking with you, headed to the town center, you guessed.
You looked behind you to look at the witch, that stared at you with a sinister expression.
"Are you sure it's safe to bring her along, won't she like... curse you? You know, for keeping her locked up?" You whispered.
"Oh, no that won't be an issue."
You tilted your head to the side.
"How come?"
Seonghwa blushed, embarrassed to recall what he had done.
"Well, I tricked her into falling in love with me so I could get her to cast a spell on herself that would only allow her to cast the spells I request her to. I then locked her in the dungeon because I didn't want to deal with her constant crying and blabbering about how I tricked her, that's probably why she's looking at you like..." He glanced over at the witch "... like that."
You hit his arm.
"Park Seonghwa!"
"Ow! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I regret doing it but if I undo it now it could have severe consequences, not only for me but for you too. And we can't have that."
You sighed and nodded. It's true that it was cruel, but you didn't want any consequences headed your way, you'd had enough.
You stopped in front of a black and gold carriage, the one that would take you into town. Seonghwa helped you get on and then sat beside you. The witch rode in front of you, her creepy smile and envious eyes staring into your soul the whole ride. Seonghwa held your hand tightly, also feeling uneasy by her presence.
"We're here, Sir."
Seonghwa took a deep breath. You could tell he was nervous, as all of the people from the Kingdom looked at the carriage, expectantly. You kissed his cheek and held his hand tighter.
"It will be okay." You assured him.
Seonghwa smiled softly and exited the carriage, alongside you and the witch. The expressions of the people once they saw the witch were the same as back in the castle, and they braced for the worst.
The King said nothing, he only turned to the witch and said 'do it'.
Once more, she cast the spell, that supposedly returned them to what they once were, but it didn't go as planned. Some people returned to their original state, but the ones who had turned from animals to humans, not so much... Some had the luck of being completely turned back to who they were, others were left hybrids, mixes of animals and humans. You found Cheshire, still as a human, happily playing with his ears and tail, and Haiga, the Hare, jumping about with his hare feet about the return of his long ears. It didn't take much for those two to be happy. There was a mix of emotions among the crowd, however, some people that had married into families who were previously human, were happy they got some of their old life back and they would still be able to maintain their relationship, others were sad (and mad) that they would never be able to return to whom they once were.
"What happened!?" Seonghwa whisper-yelled to the witch.
"The curse has been cast for far too long, I wasn't able to undo it completely." She explained, ashamed of her own skills.
"People, I apologize," as soon as he spoke those words the commotion calmed down, and everyone seemed shocked. The King? Apologizing? "it seems the curse has gone on for too long and is irreversible in some cases. I ask that whoever has been affected attends the castle tomorrow so I can offer a proper compensation for all of the damages caused, that would be all."

Sacrificial Bride Part 1//Twisted Wonderland X Reader//
Alright well, that's enough writing for the next few days if you excuse me I'm going to go sulk in my corner. Huge thanks to @softyswork who’s story about reader being sent to Malleus as a bride inspired this series. Also, I REALLY want to make some sort of modern-day Frankenstein it would be an amazing scientific breakthrough! You'll understand what I mean when you get to Idia's part lol.

It was a common rumor around your village that ever since the death of the sleeping princess your settlement had never been the same. For you, this was nothing more than a fairy tale meant to spark a scrap of hope in the hearts of naive, suffering children who were still too young to fully understand why their fathers never returned from their hunting trips or why there was barely anything to eat for dinner.
Every time you heard this dreaded tail, you couldn't help but scuff. For as long as you've been alive your town had been in utter disarray and chaos. Monsters from the woods -what the town's folk called "fae"- attacked the village daily. Stealing jewels, destroying homes, sometimes even swallowing children or sucking the blood of the dormant. There was also the looming threat of the green flames. Blazing emerald fires who couldn't be subdued by neither water nor dirt. They advanced further into the territory of the village by each full cycle of the moon. Leaving behind in their trail, thick impenetrable thorn bushes that had taken the homes of many and the lives of many more.
Awful, dreaded creatures those fae where...
But alas you did not yet know just how cruel they could be.
On another periodic morning, your younger sister jolted you awake, dragging you to the town center before you got a chance to change out of your nightgown.
In the center of the square was short man..no...not a man you noticed his pointed drawn back ears. "Fae" you gasped under your breath. But unlike the monstrous fairies that ravished your town taking on the appearances of trees and woodland creatures, this one resembled a boy of 15. The young-looking male began to speak, his voice was clear like crystals, and to his tone bats began to flock overhead. "Truly dreadful, these fairy folk are" your sister uttered in terror as she buried her face in your side.
"Heed my words, mortals. The young prince of thorns has decided to take a wife. By the setting of the sun a full day from today, two of his guards will come to collect your offering. If you chose to disregard this Wa-- friendly advice, then what is left of your town will be decimated before the end of summer. Your children eaten, wives imprisoned and husbands killed!" An unsteady hush rippled through the crowd. Some hothead youths began to throw rocks at the stranger only for the bats hovering above to shield him from the stones. Mothers hugged their children close begging for the man to "just leave".
"If" the man's voice rose once more like a cadaver emerging from the grave " my young master is pleased with your sacrifice than we shall reward you! Bring good health and prosperity to your otherwise sick and decaying village." His last words melted into the open air before he vanished in a cloud of squealing bats and ebony smoke.
The town's folk erupted in screeches, cursing at their deities while simultaneously praying to any god that would listen.
"Help us!"
"save us!"
"Don't let them take our daughters!"
The screams escalated to the point where you had to cover your ears with your shaking hands. Your eyes scanning each of the villager's faces, a pathetic lot they were, you thought to yourself. Scared by the words of a young magician. In a flash, your heart sped up, adrenaline pumping through your veins, as you marched to the center square where the boy had been mere moments ago. You stood tall, cupping your hands over your mouth.
"Listen well you disquiet, mindless lot!"
All eyes turned to you. Some holding looks of confusion, whilst others harbored glances of hope.
"This fae is lying! No way will they be satisfied with just one measly girl! No matter who we sacrifice to their so-called master, they'll still come after us! They'll still destroy our village! Let's not be stupid! Let's find a way to barricade the city instead of arguing over who to sacrifice!"
For an endless second all was quite. It was like the world had stopped turning, frozen in its place in the universe trying to decide what to do.
Then it happened,
Chants reverberating through the air
"Sacrifice her!" "Sacrifice her!"
"Sacrifice her!" "Sacrifice her!"
"Sacrifice her!"........................
WHAT!
NO!
DID THOSE MORONS NOT LISTEN TO A SINGLE WORD YOU SAID!
The crowd started advancing. Eyes locked on your figure like those of a leopard on its prey.  Their mouths were all a gap, chanting the words "sacrifice" over and over again. From behind the mob, your eyes locked with your sister's. You could practically feel the despair rolling off her figure as she covered her eyes and fell to her knees, her whole body rattling with a sort of distant rage...
A full day....it's funny how time passes all so quickly no matter what you do. Day in and day out nothing changes, pain is still pain, laughter is still laughter. Time just keeps slipping from between your fingers like sand. Even in the direst of times, Time doesn't show mercy, never once does it cease. It just ticks and ticks away until the inevitable moment arrives.
Your sister and aunt -the only two relatives that you hadn't lost to the fae- were in charge of preparing you for your so-called "wedding". Since your town was poor and isolated from other civilizations there wasn't much they could do to enhance your beauty. Smashing some berries to add color to your lips -and fervently ravishing the remains- using some coal to add shade behind your eyes, as well as around them and patting the dust of rose petals against your cheek. By the end, you hardly recognized the person staring back from the mirror. Sure the adjustments were minor but this was the most stunning you'd ever looked. "Is it almost time" your voice quivered, failing to hide the tears that began to fall. "Please don't cry sweetheart, we don't have any more coal to fix your eyes with." Your aunt's tone was monotone almost bordering on heartless. You couldn't really blame her, she'd gotten so used to having her loved ones plucked from her. One more would be no different. Sniffing as to keep the tears at bay, you nodded slowly. Your glossy eyes locked with your aunt's you could see the same fear and exhaustion in her fading irises as the night her son was slaughtered in front of her.
"Just a few reminders" your sister's voice was cheery like the chirping of early morning birds, but her face mimicked that of a kicked puppies. "Remember when the prince...fae...when he..you know...Oh, Lord please tell me he won't" She was shivering again. Her face twisted in horror. You knew what she was thinking, she was imagining you laying in the bed of that...that thing. She was imagining him entering you, kissing up and down your neck. Leaving patches of red skin over smooth flesh, bruises wherever his clawed hands touched you. She was imagining what was no doubt going to happen to you tonight...
the mere thought made bile rise to your throat.
"Darling, just keep saying how much you like it. It's all any man wants to hear." again your aunt or rather her lackluster form of speech was the rope binding you to your sanity.
"Do fae even have...those parts like humans do?" Your sister asked, only to be met with a glare from your aunt. "Stop wasting time on pointless questions! Hurry up and see if this dress fits your sister."
Sure enough, as you were escorted to where the thorn bushes met the village, two men, one standing tall and proud, whilst the other looked like he may topple over from fatigue at any moment, were awaiting you.
The green-haired man let out a haughty laugh, his blazing eyes scanning you from head to toe. "She's hardly worthy of the young master!" His dreadful voice was like the booming of thunder clouds. "It doesn't matter, Malleus-sama needs to be wedded off quickly so he can produce an heir. None of us are getting any younger by standing here debating the "worthiness" of yet another measly human" the silver-haired male's voice was the exact opposite of his comrades, his voice was soft and breathy like light drizzle after a storm.
The green-haired man looked ready to argue once more, but before he could open his mouth, his violet-eyed counterpart waved something thin in the air casing a pathway to open between the hedges.
It was dark between the brambles. The air was thick, stuffy, every breath was a struggle. Although it seemed neither of your traveling buddies minded the discomfort. Did fae even need air to survive?
After what could have been no less than a couple of hours, your small group made it to a large clearing where only a few rays of the sun leaked through the thick smoky clouds. Miss matched flowers in shades of grey littered the rocky barren ground. Maybe at some point, this place had been beautiful, stunning even...but whenever that time had been it was long gone now.
As you ventured farther into this monochrome land of loss and sorrow, the three of you approached a castle. It towered over everything else, grim in all its glory. "Young master Malleus is awaiting you inside..." The green-haired male's voice trailed off as his speech was interrupted by the deafening creaking of the doors parting open. Without another word the two men dragged you inside, pushing you through spiral staircases and long bleak passageways. Until you arrived at a lavish-looking room, a large throne sitting smugly in the front of the room. It's black, spiked appearance was enough to make you gasp in horror, you didn't desire to meet the monster that perched atop that throne. "Don't be so afraid." the silver-haired man whispers, his head is almost resting on your shoulder. "Malleus-sama is kind and fair. He is sure to love you better than any human ever could." you catch a hint of nostalgic sadness in the last part, like a long lost part of the lavender eyed boy's past caught in his throat like a glass shard.
Trumpets roared through the room blaring as two men, one short and fickle whilst the other tall and brooding walked in. "Malleus~" The short one sang as they both stopped in front of you "Say hello to your lovely new wife." the tall man's emerald eyes landed on you. His lips parted in a threatening smile...or maybe it was a smirk? He didn't seem to be too good at displaying emotions. Slowly he descended onto one knee, slipping your hand into his and kissing the top lightly.
"Hello, my darling little wife."

The After Glow Savanna was an absolute hell to be born in if your family did not belong to some royal inner court class. The endless days spent scavenging for scraps of food, walking miles for a simple glass of water, had become a sort of broken, habit beaten into the residents of the smaller less fortunate districts.
Eventually, you too would follow in your parent's footsteps, working odd jobs around the neighborhood, getting married to some guy, having kids, and giving them the same dreary life your parents had given you. It was simple -miserable- but simple never the less. In an odd way, you found a sort of comfort in how everything was set in stone. How you'd suffer through a few years then die of starvation or some disease in your husband's arms.
But little did you know that the only comfort you had in your horrible life was also going to be swiped from you.
When Ruggie, a dear childhood friend of yours returned from his prestigious school for the winter holidays you were overjoyed! A week with your best friend was the greatest gift you could ask for! But that excitement soon dulled when he announced to the neighborhood what the royal family had planned for the underdeveloped parts of the country.
"They want to demolish the homes and build parks and shopping strips instead"
The people of your tiny community gasped, shock and hopelessness mixing over their dirty, worn out faces. Some older siblings shielded the ears of their younger kin, some mothers hugged their children closer to their chests. "They can't do that to us!" Your voice was like a beacon through the thick fog of confusion. "We can't let them!" You turned to Ruggie who was seated next to you. His blue-grey eyes held a foreign sadness that you had never seen before. He was hiding something...something so grim that he was forced to shove it into the depths of his soul, locking it up and throwing away the key.
"There is a way..."
For such a hopeful phrase, Ruggie's tone harbored no happiness. You could practically see the tears that were clouding his beautiful eyes. "Tell us" someone from the crowd demanded, others soon joined in with their own chants. For a long moment, Ruggie said nothing, the shouts of despair falling on deaf ears.
"If.." his voice trailed off, as his gaze grew distant.
"If someone from the neighborhood were to marry the second prince..." Gasps of fear filled the air. Even the mere mention of the second prince's name was enough to send chills down people's spins.
"Then they could, as the newly appointed  princess, convince the royal family and counsel to scrap this monstrous plan." No one uttered another word. No one was brave enough to face the man who could destroy anything with a simple touch.
But the sake of these people, people who had nothing but their families and a muddy roof over their head was on the line.
Do something, a tiny voice in your head screamed, save them, it begged. You shifted your head so to get a glimpse of Ruggie's face. "I-" you began but were cut off before you could even finish.
"I know you would say that."
His voice broke over every syllable. He knew you would give up your depressing nostalgia for the sake of others. Life in the castle would be hell, being married to that monster would be something worst than the dwellings of the devil.
It was a speedy arrangement, so fast that your head didn't have time to process anything. In the end, it almost seemed like the royal family was desperate to find a spouse for their youngest son.
Just marry him! Was what all the absentee looks told you.
Early that morning, Ruggie had dragged you to the castle, all tears, and grumbles. The palace guards let him in with no restrain, it almost felt like he'd been here before. Your childhood friend led you to a room in the further corner of a grand hall. He told you to stay outside as he went in to chat with the prince. Moments later the newly appointed king and queen came to usher you into a privet room and discuss the marriage. Not an hour later your fate had been sealed, you'd be married off to prince Leona tomorrow at sunrise. For "historical purposes" your neighborhood would be preserved and even taken care of. 'Historical purposes' you thought 'more the like a bribe to get you to marry this beast.
that night you were dragged this way and that by the queen herself. Taken for fitting after fitting. Trying on hundreds of wedding dresses who's prices could feed every mouth in your neighborhood for months! "Leona isn't very classy" the queen sighed in disappear. "He would probably prefer you to be in something laxer, shorter if you will" the tailors ran around trying to find something that would fit her vague description, as you stood facing her royal highness.
"What's he like?" you asked soullessly
"Spoiled, although not as heartless as the rumors make him out to be"  She didn't seem to like giving straight answers
"will he harm me? It was an honest question, although the lack of thinking it took before the queen replied made your heart skipped a beat.
"Quite possibly, he is rather...aggressive at times. Just don't let his degrading comments get to you. He's not used to being around people"
The more she described the second-born prince the more it seemed she was actually speaking of some feral dog that had raised in isolation.
Oh, how doomed you were.
The wedding was even faster than the preparation. Ruggie walked you down an aisle of flowers, walking over the petals, killing them once and for all, ending their pointless existence. You stood by your self at the altar awaiting your husband to be. It took a rather long time before the doors were flung open and the king waltzed in carrying his struggling brother under his arm. "No need to worry, Leona was taking one of his catnaps again and forgot about today's events" the king announced, in what could only be described as a mock lively tone.
How on earth does someone forget their wedding! This prince really wasn't a typical human...heck you where beginning to think that the feral dog would have made a better groom.
snap, snap
A few magazine pictures here, a couple of family photos there...
Everything was so bright and loud...
right before you and the second prince were thrown into the darkness of his room. In the obscurity, you could ONLY make out the glowing of his emerald eyes.
You could feel him shifting closer, all the while you took shaking steps backwards. " I thought wives were supposed to leap into the arms of their husbands? Tell me little herbivore do I frighten you?"
Your voice refused to leave your throat, too afraid to come into contact with the prince.
"What's the matter? Did they not teach you to speak in on the streets you grew up on. Poor thing~"
Leona pounced across the room, tackling you to the ground. His sheer weight pinning you to the carpeted floor. The sound of fabric tearing echoed through the silence.
How careless these royal were was the only intelligible thought that came to your frenzied brain.
Goosebumps littered your skin as Leona's claws cut into your flesh. His lips kissed over each wound as he made his way up to your cherry painted lips.
"You look so cute, you know, like a little mouse about to get devoured by a starving lion."

The rhythm of his heartbeat was slowing down, it felt like the patter of ants atop one's flesh. He was dying...this was an irreversible fact. The love of your life was dying and there was nothing you could do but sit idly by and watch the life fade from his pale bruised face. Your thumb ran over his knuckles in robotic-like strokes. Hours had passed, you'd shed all the tears that you had. He was gone...that was all there was to it.
For a hopeless second, you flicked your eyes to the open window on the opposite side of the room, There was never any sun on the island of lamination but regardless today seemed brighter than any other day. "How cruel" you muttered in a deadpan voice. Outside something...or better yet...someone was running through the fields, chasing what looked like a butterfly. The young child had blazing blue hair a symbol of the Shroud family...
THE SHROUD FAMILY
Your breath hitch in your lungs, your heart began to pound furiously in your chest. They could help you though hopefully. There family where distant relatives of the god of the underworld and a few years back -to your regulation- the hair of the family had been able to semi revive his younger brother. If he was able to bring back a child from the dead than surly they would have no problem returning your lost lover to you.
Your eyes waltz over his dormant face one last time before you got up and ran for the door.
"This is all for you my love, all of this is for you"
The Shroud family mansion was located at the top of one of the many hills that plagued the island. It was a dark grisly building that resembled the castles from old tales, where monsters laid dormant. Rumors spiraled around the rural civilization, some saying that the family was cursed by the lord of the dead, whilst others claimed that the shroud family were the long lost descendants of the lord of the dead and the maiden of spring. The curse had been placed on the family by the temperamental mother of the maiden of spring, anathematizing the family to be plagued with death and disappear for the rest of eternity.
Regardless of what their misfortune was, they may very well be the last people on earth who could help you. Surely if the family had brought back their youngest than they could bring back your lover!
You knuckles tapped furiously at the old metal doors of the frightful residence. The rhythm was unkept, unsteady, it's mere sound radiated urgency.
"PLEASE HELP ME"
Your throat burned as you screamed out those three lousy words.
After what felt like forever, the doors cracked open, revealing a tall man obscured by the shadows. Any light that touched the interior of the house seemed to die acidity, making peering inside nearly impossible.
"What business do you have?" The man's voice was croaky as if his vocal cords hadn't been used in years. For a split second, you closed your eyes, trying to organize the thoughts in your head. "My...my...h-hus...lover, my lover is d-dead...o-or rather he is dying....probably fully gone by now..." despite the mess of stuttered letters and mixed-up words, the man seemed to understand your situation. With a long sigh, he pulled you into the somber house.
Fingers still wrapped tightly around your wrist he pulled you around, guiding you through the darkness until you reached a large room lit only by the mysterious blue flames of the fireplace. Sitting by the warmth was a...well it was hard to tell, her face -despite it displaying every bone of her visage coupled with dark sunken eyes- resembled that of a woman no older than thirty, whilst her body resembled a decaying skeleton. What was she? Was she the lady of the residence or yet another monster this bizarre family had created.
"My, love" the man began to speak, his voice was somehow cleared like it had been given some sort of jolt. "This young lady needs Idia's help, she wants to bring back her lover from the dead."
The woman said nothing, her eyes staring ahead, burning a hole in the wall right by your head. "What will she give him in return" despite her "deteriorating" appearance her voice was like soft silk on one's skin, melodious and fair.
"Why herself!" This time the man's voice boomed across the house, echoing through the hallways and falling on you like a cave in.
"M-myself! What the hell do you mean!"
"It sounds fair" the women agreed "my darling sweet son saves your lover and instead you agree to marry him! Oh how wonderful, just like in the tales about grandfather Hades!"
She seemed too thrilled about this, her snow-white eyes gleaming with a sort of delusional passion.
"Idia! Idia honey! Come down your father has a surprise for you!"
The hollow sound of footsteps soon filled the quiet air. Followed by another soft blue glow.
Was there no normal fire in this house?
But it wasn't fire, not exactly. When your eyes fell on the heir of the Shroud family, you suddenly felt a nervous wave crash over you. There was something -even more- unsettling about him, he looked nothing like his charming little brother. For one his hair wasn't...well hair! Sure you'd expect a small batch of blazes heading upwards but this was something else entirely! It resembled a large bonfire that floated towards the ground, rouge sparks falling in every which direction, sizzling and then dying abandoned on the floor. And his eyes, Miosis like pupils floating around in a pool of lemon yellow.
But all the physical appearances aside, the most unsettling thing about him was the gloomy aura that leaked off him, suffocating anyone in his presence. Nervously you took a step back only to be yanked forward again by the taller man.
"Idia baby!" His mother ran over to him, cradling his hands in hers "This cute young lady has agreed to marry you if you can save her lover, just like in that old tale about your great grandfather! Oh, my this is all so romantic!"
It seemed like no one here understood that you were in love WITH SOMEONE ELSE! Or maybe they did and chose to disregard it. Instead, using the bits they retained as kindling to feed their raw excitement. You shifted your gaze back to Idia's face. To your utter terror, he was...smiling? Could that...look...even be called a smile? It seemed more like the way a shark would bare its teeth at a defenseless seal! Oh, gods please don't let this...thing...be your future husband!
"It should be easy enough," His golden gaze landed on you "W-when did...did he die?" it took a few moments before you register that he was talking to you or technically asking you something. "A...A  few..." your voice cracked, tears streaming down your eyes.
"So recently...okay that shouldn't be a p-problem." He turned on his heels and walked back into the seclusion of the halls "I'll grab some things and meet you by the front door"
A few things ended up being a pile of wires and bolts. Something that looked like a light blue ball of energy and so many tools whose names seemed to go over your head.
Idia was kneeling by your lover's bed, pulling apart the skin and fusing metal in its place. Your darling's chest was cracked open, his ribs poking out towards the sky as if praying for life from the lord of the sky. Every once in awhile Idia would pull out a long tool with smoke floating from the top. He'd lay it on an organ watching as the tissue fiber sizzled away under the heat. He would then tie wires and small circular batteries inside.
"His heart stopped working, I'm guessing from some sort of shock"
You just hummed in response, too caught up in how the man you loved was beginning to look like a modern-day Frankenstein rather than a human being.
The sun had long since faded when Idia finally got up from his spot. His bones cracked and screeched at the sudden change, his muscles giving out halfway leaving him to rely on the wall for support to stand. Your lover's chest had been sewn back and covered with a silver piece of metal. His neck was wrapped in the same sort of alloy. His left arm had been cut open so Idia could shove the energy ball inside than cover it, leaving a small enough gap for wires that stretched from his chest to weld into the ball.
"He just needs a boost" Idia murmured that shark-like grin overtaking his pale face once more. From the side table, he plucked up to jumper cables and clipped them on either side of his neck. Jolts and crackles filled the room and sparks flew in every direction, the once-dead body shuffled around, arms and legs moving at random. You shrieked and duck behind Idia.
Only then did he pry the clips from his neck.
Nothing
for too long nothing happened... then there was a slight wiggle in one finger, then another. His eyes slowly began to prey open, looking over his surroundings. The moment his confused gaze feel onto you. Idia turned you around to face him, clumsily smashing his blue chapped lips onto yours.
From the corner of his eyes, Idia watched as the other man began to understand what was happening...even if he was just resurrected there was still agony at the sight of his lover kissing another...
Good! That should show him who you belonged to now!

Otherworld (Dean Winchester x reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: The current world Y/N dies and Dean, Sam, Cas, Jack and Rowena all mourn her. Dean goes into her room to talk to her wherever she was. It wasn't until months later, where the Winchesters go to the other world to save their mother. Dean sees otherworld Y/N for the first time.
Characters: Dean x reader (romantic), Sam x reader (platonic), Castiel x reader (platonic), Jack x reader (platonic), Mary x reader (platonic),
--
Y/N's chest heavied after every dry cough that left her lips. Dean uses a wet rag to wipe the blood that was trickling onto her chin, regret weighing in his eyes. "It wasn't your fault," she says weakly. "Why did you do it?" He asks, taking her hand into his.
"What kind of question-" Another series of coughs leave her lips and she slides off the bed. "Y/N," he warns. She staggers to the trash can and emptied her stomach out in large chunks. Shivering when the smell of stomach acid hits her nose.
Dean holds her hair back with one hand and rubs comforting circles on her back with the other. "I wouldn't want this to happen to you," she chokes out. Sitting on her knees, she nearly falls backward. Fatigue was one of the first things she felt with the curse.
Mary was trapped in the other world, and Rowena found a spell. Y/N and Dean were split up on find one half of the spell while Sam and Rowena found the other half.
A witch had the ingredients that we were looking for. It was like any normal witch hunt, find the hex bags and you'll find the witch.
But the witch went down with a fight and managed to utter a curse before she died. Y/N saw the aura of the spell rush towards Dean but she jump in front of him and absorbed the spell.
And as soon as she did, she fell unconscious for three days. Once she woke up, the spell worsened by the hour. Rowena has been searching her books and grimoires ever since Y/N came back.
She finally discovered a stone that could absorb dark spells, well one dark spells at a time. Which means that in order for the stone to absorb Y/N's curse, they had to set another curse free. Y/N didn't have the heart to give someone a curse so she refused.
Dean made Sam and Rowena go find the stone anyway while Cas worked on finding an angel strong enough to repell the curse.
She collapse into Dean's chest. His hand caress up and down her arms. "It's alright, baby, I got you." He says softly. Tears prick her eyes and she covers her mouth to prevent any sobs from leaving her. "Hey, what's wrong? Is your body starting to ache again? How long has it been since you drank the tea?"
"I'm just scared, Dean. What if... What if I don't make it up there?" "No, do not talk like that. Come on, let's get you back to bed." He says, standing up with her in his arms. She wraps her arms around his neck as he walks her to the bed. "I'm serious, Dean. I don't want to go to Hell," "You won't, because you're not going to die."
"I've done terrible things. What if I'm not forgiven for them?" "Y/N, please. Stop, I'm begging you." He says, wiping tears from her cheeks and trying to hold back his own. "You're not going to die, you hear me?" She nods and he rests his forehead against hers.
An hour later, it became harder to breathe and Y/N died quietly in her sleep. Dean slept with her in his arms and noticed her lack of movement.
"Y/N? Dean? We found the-" Sam said excitedly but stopped when he noticed the silence in the bunker. Sam and Rowena follow him into Y/N's room to see Dean crying into Y/N's chest.
"We're too late," Rowena says, holding her chest in pain for Y/N. "No," Sam says as he approached Y/N's bedside. He fell to his knees and reached out to hold Y/N's hand.
As hard as it was, they gave her a hunter's funeral soon after. Sam gave the group the rest of the night before pushing them to find the rest of the ingredients. Within a weeks time, they gathered everything that's needed and were ready to jump over.
Sam gave Dean a few minutes in Y/N's room. Dean has been going to Y/N's room everyday to talk to her. He doesn't know if she hears him or not but it's what's been keeping him together. Sam pushes open the cracked door to Y/N's room to see Dean sitting on her bed and holding a shirt in his hands.
"You ready, Dean?" Sam asks. "Do you think I'll see her over there?" Dean asks, wiping a few tears before standing from the bed. "What will you do if you see her?" Sam asks. "Hug her, kiss her, tell her I love her."
"Well if other world Y/N is anything like our Y/N, there's a chance she'll punch you in the face, dude." Sam says, making Dean chuckle. "I miss her man. I see her everywhere." Dean says. Sam pulls Dean in for a short hug and says, "Let's bring her home."
**
Sam, Dean and Cas allowed a group of people to go with them to the camp. The tunnel was shorter distance to the camp and they didn't have time to go the long route.
So they decided to go into the thick of it, and they almost didn't make it until Y/N and her group heard commotion in the tunnel.
"You know how many vamps are in that tunnel. We need a damn tank to go through there." Y/N friend says. "We have to at least try to help," Y/N says. "Alright, you know I'm with you." "You have your DBGs?" Y/N asks.
Deadmans Blood Grenades, a device Y/N busted her ass in her lab to create and laid down the blueprint of taking down monsters quicker. Just as a vampire was about to bite Sam, Y/N rolled the grenade through the tunnel and blew the vampires to ash.
Her followed threw one of their grenades while the others decapitated the enough vamps to let Dean and his men escape. They all ran out and Y/N and her people followed soon after. They kept running until they felt like they were in the clear.
"Are you alright? Are any of you hurt?" Y/N asks and Dean eyes her lovingly. Y/N noticed and said, "Did he hit his head or something? Why is he looking at me like that?" "You.. you were.." Sam starts but couldn't find the words.
"We can talk about this later. Do any of you know where Mary is?" Cas asks. "Of course, that's actually where we were headed." Y/N says, glancing at Dean before taking lead of the group.
Dean stays quiet and observes Y/N. At first glance, she isn't like his Y/N. She has a short pixie cut but her large curls were still predominant on her head. Her back tattoo peeks out of her tank top and she has many smaller tattoos along her arms.
How she carries herself is slightly different than his Y/N. She's a natural born leader and very decisive. She functions well under pressure. It was probably the apocolyptic environment she grew up in. But whenever she talks with her friend, Y/F/N, Dean could see his Y/N.
Y/N laughs at something that Y/F/N says and his heart flutters when he sees her smile. They arrive at the camp and Mary rushes out of the camp to hug her boys. "Oh these are your sons? That makes sense." Y/F/N says. "Where's Y/N?" Mary asks the boys when she pulls away.
They look at you with a sigh and that's all she needed to hear. "No, she.." Mary trails off, and the next thing Y/N knew, they were all staring at Y/N. Y/F/N notices and nudged Y/N.
"Is there a problem?" Y/N asks. Without missing a beat, Cas walks up to Y/N and hugs her. Her arms dangle at her sides as she looked to Y/F/N confusingly.
"You died in our world a week ago. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you." He says to Y/N and she freezes.
"I'm.. sorry to hear that." Gently resting her hands on his shoulders, Cas holds her for a few more seconds before walking away to talk to Jack.
She approached the boys and said, "He told me what happened. Im-" Dean nearly knocks her over with his hug and she chuckled warmly.
"I haven't been given this much attention in like.. well never." She says warmly and he squeezes her even harder.

(3rd)
(Y/N) sobbed softly, , his clothes getting soaked, and the ice biting slowly at his fingers.
But he could only feel the pain of his heart being broken.
He was sitting against a rock, Elena watching from where she was perched in the water with her sisters and brothers staring at the Madrigal.
(Y/N) felt soft arms wrap around his waist and he stiffened before leaning into his hermanita's arms, his tears drying and his waves slowly starting to calm. "Mirabel, you shouldn't be in here..you're gonna get sick." Mirabel merely hugged him tighter, her glasses smudging slightly.
"Don't care. You're hurting and I'm not going to let you continue to suffer alone. Talk to me, hermano." (Y/N) sighed softly before he started to talk:
"Here comes a wave meant to wash me away, a tide that is taking me under
Swallowing sand, left with nothing to say
My voice drowned out in the thunder,"
(Y/N) pulled Mirabel and himself up, and he began leading her into a cavern full of ice that reveal different futures, and so many memories.
He pointed to a memory where he purposely took the blame for a young Luisa hadn't had control of her strength, of him covering Dolores' chores when she was too overwhelmed, of him spending time with Mirabel, when Abuela's shadow loomed over him.
"But I won't cry, and I won't start to crumble,
Whenever they try, to shut me or cut me down.
I won't be silenced
You can't keep me quite
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless
'Cause I'll breathe
When they try to sufforcate me, don't you underestimate me
'Cause all I know is I won't go speecheless."
(Y/N) pulled Mirabel close to him as they slide down a slide, as Mirabel listened to her brother's words.
"Written in stone, every rule, every word
Centuries old and unbending
'Stay in your place, better seen and not heard'
But now that story is ending!"
Mirabel watched the different memories of her brother wanting to scream about his true feelings but listened to what was expected of him. She realized this was one of the many reasons, he suffered from anxiety so bad.
"'Cause I, I cannot start to crumble
So come one and try
Try to shut me and cut me down
I won't be silenced
You can't keep me quiet
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless, speechless!"
Mirabel smiled as her brother jumped on different colored bubbles and he started to showcase his dance moves, playing wildly and freely with his powers, creating these beautiful masterpieces of wonder.
He even created water versions of himself as he lost himself in pride."Let the storm in
I cannot be broken
No, I won't live unspoken
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless
Try to lock me in this cage, I won't just lay me down and die"
(Y/N) grabbed Mirabel's hand as together the two were jumping from bubble to bubble as (Y/N) finally basked in his confidence.
"I will take these broken wings and watch me burn across the skyyyy
Hear the echo saying:
I won't be silenced!"
(Y/N)'s eyes changed to reflect the true him: he's wild, caring, adventurous and strong, just like the ocean.
From a once calm forest green, his eyes changed to Carribean Blue and also shifted to an Emerald green and soon Mirabel realized her brother was happy, his outfit shining with bits and pieces of the ocean, and river in his room: From coral pieces, to broken sea shells, to even pearls placing themselves in his hair, simliar to the beads the women in the village wear.
" Though you wanna see me tremble when you try it
All I know is I won't go speechless, speechless
'Cause I'll breathe
When they try to suffocate me"
(Y/N) approached a statue of their Abuela and flicked his fingers as he continued to grin wildly.
"Don't you underestimate me
'Cause I know that I won't go speechless.
All I know is I won't go speechless
SPEECHLESS!"
(Y/N) exhaled sharply as his room was completely different and exciting and he turned to Mirabel with the biggest smile she'd ever seen him wear.
"Mirabel! Look at this! I-I've never been able to do something this, this, this---" he struggled to find a word and just hugged Mirabel tightly, making the girl laugh and hug her brother just as tightly.
"Exciting? Freeing? You?" She asked softly, brushing a curl behind her brother's ear as he turned to pop Elena's bubble and cuddled her close. "Exactly hermanita. I-I haven't felt like this since before my Gift ceremony." The two sat down next to each other, dipping their feet in the cool water, gently shooing the curious creatures swimming around.
"(Y/N)?" Mirabel hesitated as her brother narrowed his eyes at something glowing in the distance.
He used his waves to grab the rat with a piece of vision in its mouth.
"Ay, Carlota...what are you doing in here again?" He asked, unamused at the rat. "Mira...there's something I need to tell you." He held his hand out and ushered her behind his waterfall to the wall, where there was a huge hole. He made a water chain of candles that led into the dark.
"Mirabel, follow Carlota, and she'll lead you to the one who has the answer you're looking for." Mirabel eyed her brother as she listened to the cracks. "You knew all along, didn't you?"
"Guilty as charged. But I couldn't interfere with the future..this family has been messed up with some serious generational trama, and you, mi dulce hermana, are exactly what this family needs to start to heal. You'll heal what's broken and show this family something new." The Madrigal gently pushed his sister forward. "W-wait, aren't you coming with me?" (Y/N) smiled crookedly. "No, I got some things to do."
"Now get going, chiqutia. And tell him, I said it's time."

//
Tumblr media

Warnings: none
A/N: Hey! This is my very first fanfic here and i decided to start with some tmr stuff ;) English not my mother language so please let me know if something is wrong. Anyways, enjoy!
Tumblr media
Chapter one: Leaving home
YOU WAKE UP THAT DAY WITH AN INCREDIBLE MOOD, although things in the village were not encouraging at all.
The dew hadn't fallen yet when you were already in front of the maze, impatiently waiting for the doors to open. You were carrying a backpack with the breakfast on your back, the belt resting on your hips, and an awl strategically hidden in your back pocket.
You didn't understand why your heart was beating so fast even if the night before had been the worst of all. The disease was progressing, it was devastating the village and the parents were leaving their children alone. You trembled in your place. You've never seen anything like that before. The illness, the confusion, the tiredness, the agony. The desease was ending with all of you. If you and the trackers didn’t find a way out as you had promised, then the village would be devastated.
You couldn't allow it. You weren't going to give up. Maybe the answer was out there, waiting for you and you weren't going to keep it waiting.
Maybe the feeling of your restless heart was a good sign. Maybe your heart was sensing things that you could not know and, with a little bit of luck, get it right as he almost always did.
The village had exits from its four points, so, as the sun was in the west that day, you decided to start with the east gate, considering it a good sign. You pulled your hair up in a high ponytail, ate an apple as fast as you could, and waited for the doors to move.
A curtain of dust and pebbles rose in front of your face as you listened the doors opening. That day the main corridor to the maze had a strange smell, but you thought that your nose was already damaged by the medicines and infusions that you had been smelling in the nursery, so you ignored it. You adjusted your boots waiting for the stench to disperse when a strong pull carried you backwards, scaring you.
“What the hell...? Asenat! "You muttered releasing the grip on your shirt. The girl smiled haughtily, crossing her arms over her chest “How many times do I have to tell you to not pull me like that? I hate being pulled!
“You can do it as many times as you want, I honestly don't care, I'll keep doing it anyways”
“You're an idiot”
“Where do you think you are going?” Cassidy asked, standing next to Asenat, both of them staring at you with their arms crossed over their chests and frowning. You rolled your eyes
“To do my job, the same as you should be doing right now”
"You are no longer a tracker”
“I am the leader, I can give myself that position”
"Second leader," Asenat corrected you, "After Richard, and he was the one who gave you the order to stay in the village, remember?"
You clicked your tongue as the trackers were already leaving to the maze. Asenat caught your shirt between her fingers again preventing you from running. Cassidy sighed, shaking her head. If something was clear to them about you, it was how stubborn you could be.
“Yes, I remember”
"Do you still have those headaches?"
"No," you lied. You'd been feeling terrible headaches for a couple of weeks now, before Richard fell sick from what the villagers called the glow. The man, who was also a tracker, had found you in the middle of your section with a terrible bruise on the back of your head and a pool of blood surrounding you. He carried you to the village, and when you were sufficiently recovered, you mentioned having a terrible pain and falling unconscious hitting the stone. Richard didn't need to know more to remove you from your job, forbidding you to return to the maze until your headaches were better. Until the night before you hadn't felt any pain, so you assumed you were fine “I'm great, don't worry about me. It was an accident”
"Yeah, are you sure?"
“Completely”
"Even if it were so, you are not allowed to go out," Cassidy said, determined. "We need you here, my friend."
"I'll be back before dark”
"Things don't work that way anymore," Cassidy replied, looking at you with a frown. "Richard hasn't died yet." His rules are still ours and since when we can do whatever we want?
“Don’t say it like that”
"You know Richard is not going to survive" Asenat lowered her voice preventing any other villagers from hearing her "he will die like the rest of the infected and when that happens all this will be over. We can continue with the rules that he made, but that will not be enough. There are families dying every day, our duty is to take care of them. We have a pact, okay? Treat the disease first, look for a way out later”
"How long are we going to keep waiting?" You asked, taking a step forward. Asenat sighed, "Three? Four? Another five years? This place is falling apart. If we really want to help the remaining villagers we need to find a way out, take them home, give them a better life, heal them "
"Nobody assures us that we will be better out there than here"
"Let's take the risk, we won't lose anything just by trying"
"We have kids in here, even babies. Their parents have died and they depend on us.
"This time it will be different" you said looking at them pleadingly "It's crazy, but something tells me that today we will find the answers we have been looking for. I could assure you that. Do you believe me? Do you trust me enough to believe in what my heart feels?”
Cassidy and Asenat looked at each other. Richard was still sick, confined to his cabin with the doctors trying to keep him alive. The night before he had lost part of the skin on his arms and his uncontrollable anger had made them tie him to the bed, however, that didn’t mean that in his small lapses of serenity he did not realize what was happening in the village.
Asenat shrugged her arms, leaving the decision to Cassidy. In her role as a teacher, she had no say in that situation and she didn't really care too much. You were reckless and almost always clumsy, but you had good ideas and that had helped you become te mainstay of the village. However Cassidy as the third in charge represented the third head of the monster. She would be the leader at Richard's death and if you didn't get back from the maze in time and that terrified her. She was not afraid of responsibility, nor making important decisions, but that represented visualizing a future where the three of you were not together and she preferred not to think about it.
"You know we do," she replied. "There hasn't been a single day when we doubted in your good judgment, but ..."
"It's different," Asenat said rubbing her chin. "The village doesn't feel like it used to. We are used to death, we can handle it, but the feeling of having it lurking over our heads is unbearable. The maze is not better. It is changing. I listen to it every night. The steel lobsters clattering through the halls. The giant woke up and will not go back to sleep”
"Cassidy," you called her, squeezing her hands. The girl sighed, thinking of the possibilities you guys had. Staying with your arms crossed was not an option, but neither was breaking the trust Richard had placed in all of you. Asenat watched you. The three of you shared the same fear, the same confusion and the same dread of losing the entire village. There were children who required the presence of someone capable to guide them, men and women waiting in fear to be infected with the glow and babies crying to feel the arms of their dead parents. You clenched her hands tighter. You needed to be covered for a few hours only and, in return, you would find the way out. You could do it, you trusted your instincts “Please...”
Cassidy sighed.
"We'll cover you until lunchtime, that's all."
"I only need that”
"Come back in one piece, will you?" She begged, looking at a small boy approaching. You leaned down, taking him in your arms letting out a groan as you picked him up. George was eight years old, he didn't weigh the same as five years ago. You kissed his cheek, returning him to the ground “The boy would go nuts if something happened to you”
"Are you going back to the maze?" George asked looking at you with his huge brown eyes. You nodded. Then you were hit by the little boy's suffocating embrace “the lobsters will hurt you!
"They are asleep now”
"They can wake up!"
"I doubt it little one. Don’t worry, I'll be fine. I'll be back at noon and we'll have a snack together, what ya think?”
“You promise?
“I promise”
"Okay, you can go," he said. You laughed, ruffling his hair
"Thanks, puppy. Stay with Asenat, okay? She can scold you while I'm gone”
"Ya’ heard it, boy," Asenat said, rubbing her knuckles at the top of his head. George complained, "You will stay with me the rest of the day and help me teach the little ones how to count to ten.
“That's not fair!”
"Life isn't fair, brat." Come on, maybe we can grab some chocolate from the kitchen later, huh?”
Asenat held out her hand and George took it enthusiastically as they walked together towards the largest cabin that you used as a classroom. George spun on his feet saying goodbye with a bright smile on his face. You blew him a kiss and Asenat turned to show you her middle finger. You smiled
"Take care of him, will you?" I highly doubt that Asenat will do it properly”
"I'm going to watch her. Now go before I regret it. And (Y/N)” She said, stopping you as you walked towards the main corridor of the maze. You turned around, waiting for his words “Don't die out there. The maze stinks enough to add the stench of a corpse” You nodded. It was a fair deal
“No prob”
You finished your run in your section faster than you expected. The meal would not be until three hours later so you decided to make a stop to rest. You sat on the floor against a wall. Hot sweat was running down your neck and the fucking headache was back. You closed your eyes, tired. It was terribly hot, and the stench of rotting meat numbed your nose.
You drank water, the little sip you had left, and put it back in your backpack. You were going to eat some of the apple slices you took with you, but the pain in the back of your head kept you from even chewing. You stood up wanting to continue your hike when the headache went down your neck and then numbed your spine. You leaned against the wall. It was covered in vines, moss, and fungus. You wiped your palms on your pants and started walking again.
The migraine erased your sight. For a second the world around you seemed to move in luminous spirals forcing you to close your eyes. The sound lightened and you swore you heard a static signal on your eardrums.
The floor spined over and over again. You dug your nails into the palms of your hands feeling the blood pour out from the sides, staining the stone. You heard the drops hiting the floor and suddenly everything stopped.
You were sweating. Your soaked shirt stuck to your body, your hair matted on your forehead and you opened your eyes. Pushing back the hair you noticed that this was not your section, that in some inexplicable way the maze had changed drastically and there was no way to return home.
Your heart beat madly. You fell to the ground on your knees, your head aching every second screaming in agony. You crawled down the corridor without understanding its course, but recognizing small fragments of leaves pointing a path to the north.
was that the way out? You, without being aware of the pain, could you have operated some kind of lever, changing the composition of the maze, leaving it unrecognizable? You weren't sure.
You kept crawling. The leaves spreading across the path, turning into a corridor covered in dust and dirt. You complained in pain and in the confusion, you managed to hear voices from the other side.
You buried your nails in the stone rising up. You pulled forward slowly approaching until you reached the exit (or the entrance?) of the maze. The wind ruffled your hair. Then your hands touched the green grass and the pain stopped.
You stayed alert. Your senses fading little by little from fatigue. Your head ached, your hands ached, your back ached. You heard the clear voice of a boy and, unaware of it, you got up as best as you could.
You got up with the help of the leaves on the wall. You narrowed your eyes focusing on the meadow stretching out in front of you. It was not the village, it was not the exit. The walls of the maze were surrounding the meadow and you could only think that the pain had caused you allusions.
Then the torture returned. You clenched your teeth. Your vision became blurry, however you could distinguish completely unknown figures in the mist. Your ears recognized voices, men's voices, and, unable to bear another second, you fainted.

in defense of Din’s subdued reaction to losing the kid...
Tumblr media
gif by @quantam-widow
I know we were all thinking it. We got a 2 second reaction shot to the destruction of the Razor Crest (may she forever rest in peace), but then, Grogu gets taken, and... nothing?
What the fuck, Din? we all protest. That’s your baby on that ship! Don’t you care? Scream, curse, kick a rock, cry, make a fist, something!!
I will acknowledge that so far, the show has been excellent with giving us emotional payoff, am I right? I mean, just today we got Din laughing, twice. Twice in a row. I honestly never thought we’d see that. There have been so many excellent, precious soft!Din moments this season, and they all feel deliciously earned.
So, from a meta POV, I guess I’m saying that I have faith in the writers to get it right, and in Pedro to deliver. Duh.
In universe, though, I think it’s fair to point out the obvious - that Din is a pretty reserved guy. He’s much more of a thinker than a feeler. He’s used to keeping things bottled up, and I would even argue that his life often depends on his ability to dissociate from his emotions. Din’s entire journey so far has been about how one little baby yodito shakes his worldview to its very foundations. He’s getting there, but it’s a slow process.
And also, consider this - we haven’t seen Din alone yet, not since Grogu was taken. For a guy who lives a guarded life literally encased in fucking armor, any display of emotion is going to be carefully protected until he’s in private.
But anyway, Din is detached, rational, a little emotionally constipated, and definitely comfortable in a stressful situation. A true ISTP if you ask me (yeah, I know you didn’t, but whatever). Often, it seems that these cool headed, logical types who have never ruffled a feather over anything in their lives are the least adept at handling genuine fear. In other words, when panic does strike, it strikes them hard.
And guys, Din was definitely panicking during this episode.
He’s clearly unsettled from the jump - that outburst of “dank farrik!” in the cockpit sells it, and his distress only becomes more obvious from there. Talking out loud, trying to convince himself that the best thing for Grogu is for him to be trained as a Jedi. Reminding himself of the creed. His overt caution as they approach the seeing stone. His impatience, “Are you seeing anything??”
Then there’s the effects of long term stress. Sure, a bounty hunter in the outer rim doesn’t exactly live an easy life, but Din is definitely used to the drama being on his terms. Compare Din’s body language in the opening scene of season one to when Boba confronts him in chapter fourteen. You can just feel the anxiety, the weariness, the frustration. Din has been on the run for months now, constantly looking over his shoulder, sleeping with one eye open. Notice how he even startles at Fennec’s voice? Season one Din would never have given that much away, regardless of the situation. Long term stress has clearly taken a toll on him.
So we have unsettled, stressed out Din in an emotionally charged situation. He’s exhausted, he’s scared, he’s desperate. This scenario is a recipe for even the most level-headed of adrenaline junkies to loose their cool, and that’s exactly what happens to Din. He panics, and he makes some pretty big fuckups because of it. Leaving Grogu unprotected, twice. Trying three different times to break through that “force field,” even when he knew he couldn’t. Dropping that jetpack and then just forgetting about it (I know we were all screaming about that one, or at least, I was).
So, fear is a positive feedback loop. Those neurotransmitters that do us good in a bad situation - raising heart rate, narrowing focus, shunting blood to the muscles - can also be detrimental if we get too high of a dose - tachypnea and tachycardia, inability to think critically and see the big picture, lack of blood and oxygen to the brain. Epinephrine, in particular, even inhibits the laying down of new memory pathways. In other words, stress leads to poor performance, and poor performance leads to more stress, which leads to... you get the idea.
Then, in the middle of all this chaos, they fucking blast the Razor Crest.
More epinephrine, more cortisol, more stress.
By the end of it all, Din is a fucking shitstorm of stress hormones and pent up emotions. Notice how he seems to be on autopilot in the immediate aftermath, robotically scanning the ashes of the Crest for anything that might be left intact. Notice how empty his voice is when he says, “the child is gone.” This is a dead man walking. Din has nothing left. His whole life has just gone up in smoke, and he can do nothing about it.
Guys, Din is holding onto his sanity by a fucking thread in this scene. “The child is gone,” he says, like he’s reminding himself, grounding himself in his shitty reality. He’s stunned.
And helpless. There’s literally nothing he can do for Grogu. He has no ship, no credits, no resources, nothing to bargain with, nothing to offer. Din literally cannot allow himself the luxury of feelings right now. He’s just got to focus on surviving this very shitty day.
Then, Boba Fett upholds his end of the deal, and suddenly, Din has something to hold onto. An ally, a badass friend, some hope. I don’t think Boba shows Din that chain code in order to verify his claim on the armor - he’s already wearing it, for godssake. I think Boba shows him the code in order to catch Din’s attention - hey friend, I know you’re hurting, but I’m a man of my word. When I make a vow, I keep it. Let’s regroup and go find your kid.
And Din would totally latch onto that. A fighting chance? Din fucking leaps at it. There’s a job to do. A kid to save. All of those stress hormones are going to keep on stewing, because Din has never really come down from his adrenaline high.
It’s like this in real life, too. There isn’t time to be afraid. There isn’t time to be sad, or second-guess, or say, oh how terrible, or wonder what if it doesn’t work? There’s just you and the job, and if you are the only thing standing between life and death, you will put everything else aside and do what you have to do, for as long as you have to do it.
And that’s where Din is at this moment. He’s running on the fumes of his adrenaline, all tempered focus, all strategy and no bullshit.
Emotional shock, my therapist buddy calls it. Apparently, it’s normal. Expected, even.
But guys, the fallout of this kind of crazy ass adrenaline high is insanely intense. I’m talking collapse to the floor, legs won't hold you, trembling, crying so hard you sling snot, shuddering breaths, stare dead-eyed and spent at the ceiling because you’re just too wiped out to even sleep kind of intense.
And then, after the breakdown comes the angst. The detailed thinking. The oh god, what if this had happened, or, should I have done that instead? It seems like every emotion that gets put on the back burner in the moment comes back to bite you with twofold intensity when all is said and done.
In other words, Din is definitely going to feels some things .A lot of very intense things. A reckoning is coming, my dudes. Trust me. It’s just not quite here yet.
That being said, here’s what I can expect from Din going forward:
Just like he’s is slow to acknowledge his growing parental feelings for Grogu, I think Din’s going to be slow at processing his grief at Grogu’s loss. In the next episode, he’s got plenty to distract him - getting together his hit team to take back the kid and coordinating an attack on the empire.
However, I do think we’ll get a slow moment with Din, probably sometime at the beginning of next week’s episode if the pattern holds. I doubt it’s the full-blown breakdown that we’re all needing, but I’m willing to bet money that we’ll see Din grappling with the fact that his kid is gone. I also think that badass beskar murder machine Din from chapter three will resurface. Stress and desperation make us do irrational things, and anger is one of the stages of grief that Din will inevitably have to work through (I think he’s flickering between denial and bargaining for now).
But then, after Din gets Grogu back? I think that’s we’ll have our big, dearly earned emotional payoff.
For one thing, Din won’t be able to deny his feelings anymore. He wants to keep this kid, it’s so very obvious. Losing him just forces it all to the forefront.
And then the relief/joy/regret/guilt that Din is going to feel once he’s got Grogu back? Not to mention the physical exhaustion? All of the fear/terror/angst/grief that he ignored in favor of just going pedal to the metal, guns blazing, get the kid or die trying? That shit’s going to crash into him with all the subtly of a fucking tsunami. I guarantee you, we’re going to get some sort of confession, or adoption vow, or face revel, or other sort of profound softness from Dad!Din in the falling action of this season (At least, I hope we get it at the end this season but I wouldn’t put it past them to kick it into the premier of season three, just for pacing reasons, but then again, I obviously have trust issues).
Personally, I would love to see Din grappling with the long-term fallout of losing Grogu - night terrors, guilt, paranoia, etc. That’s probably the stuff of fanfiction - mandalorians don't have nightmares on screen, surely - but still, some lingering effects Grogu’s kidnapping would be realistic, and I would absolutely live for it.

HORROR AU.
Chapter 2.
"The day I was possessed by a demon".
The guards laughed softly. And how can you not laugh when your chief cackles like a sick rooster?
Viggo was laughing merrily as he watched his father lose another game of Maces and Talons.
"Son, only you can disgrace your father like this".-Ragnarok said, smiling softly at him.
"But is it my fault that you can't play?" Viggo said, still laughing.
And the ships were nearing the island "Bescheshuichetyi dragon". And as soon as their bows were firmly planted in the white sand , everyone was told to leave their cabins and go ashore.
"Well, are you ready for your first hunt?" - said Ragnarok proudly, leaning his powerful hands on his son's thin shoulders .When he heard the guard's voice from outside the door.
"You'll be proud of me , I know every weak point in these reptiles.I spent days and nights preparing for this moment, not like some people.Viggo said confidently, looking straight into the brown eyes of his best teacher , his father. He jumped out of bed and began to pack his bag .
A few minutes later, they left the cabin and went to the General meeting , where children from different tribes met. However, as soon as Viggo noticed a group of children of different ages, something made him become quiet and timid again.
In it were the heirs of other tribes and kingdoms. Their age ranged from 15-18 years .They were all dragon hunters.
After examining his new companions a little, he decided to find out more about where he was.A small village on the other side of the river caught his eye.He decided to find someone who could tell him about it.
A tall man was standing near a group of people .Approaching him, he greeted him and asked him about the village. The latter answered him thus .
"Hello, my name is Armstrong the good-Natured.As for those buildings, this is a small village, as well as a medical center. It was specially built here, because there are a lot of things in this place, graduates get seriously injured. This is where we treat them....although sometimes there were cases when children did not pass the exam, for various reasons, and came here to send a letter to their homeland to be taken away.To be honest, boy, I'm against such survival .You're too young to hunt such beasts, not like those big foreheads over there! So let's agree on this, I really feel sorry for you, you can come to me if you want ,my house is that building with a carved wooden horse head. If you ask me why you have such a privilege, I will answer right now , because you are the only 7-year-old child , around you there are already healthy deer that are about to turn twenty. That's why.Now go to hunters." With that, the mustachioed man in armor walked away.
When Viggo got the answer to his question ,he said good-bye and went back .
Next to the group that had already gathered, a man in a white coat climbed onto a wooden pedestal and tapped on a silver disk. This attracted the attention of everyone standing around.
"Dear Sirs, ladies and their children, today we have gathered for a reason, today is the very day when our children must prove themselves for the future of your tribes and kingdoms. They will have to: survive for 3 months, on their own, develop a sense of courage, ruthlessness, coolness and fearlessness. Be able to calculate their every step , because it depends on how they will lead their people. But their most important goal is to defeat the Bescheshuychetogo dragon, one of the most terrible creatures on this island.I wish you good luck. " - with these words, the elder descended from the pedestal and walked away.
Viggo was alarmed by this statement, because he had never met or remembered this class of dragons before .As a result, all confidence in victory collapsed . And he even wondered how Riker had handled it all and brought home a bunch of little dead dragons.
He did not have time to think about all this , because his father's hand clearly made it clear that it was time to say goodbye , and perhaps forever , because no one is immune from their own death.
He let him go , his eyes sad and full of fear .
An hour later, he was standing alone on the beach. Unnoticed, the others had already gone hunting.
"pull yourself together ,everything will work out for you." With this thought in mind, Viggo pulled out a book and a coal from his bag, and quickly began to write a plan of action. After all, you need to have time to do everything before sunset, otherwise you won't be able to say Hello to him later. The plan was this :
1) Find suitable shelter, both from the weather and from predators.
2) Find a source of fresh water , and it is better to find shelter there.
3) Take care of the availability of food.
4) to Prepare a sleeping place.
5) Prepare items for tomorrow's hunt.
Having written the plan, he began to carry out the first point. And putting the items back in the bag, quickly ran into the woods.
It's been a few hours or more, but he still finds what he thinks is the perfect place to hide.
Coming out of the thorny bushes, he sees a waterfall and a small river, a source of fresh water .And behind the waterfall is a hidden cave.Viggo cautiously walks up to the entrance ,narrow enough that it does not fit Gronckle, and looks around. There is nothing inside except one spacious room . And most importantly, it is not inhabited by anyone! Today, luck is on his side. He quickly found a corner to sleep in and began sorting through his bag of things .Taking a couple of pitchers with him, he left the cave, ran to the river and filled them to the top with clean water and returned to put on the floor.
"All that's left is to find some food.Sticks, stones, and leaves for a fire ,and reeds for a primitive bed."
Viggo crawled out of the cave again and searched for branches, leaves, and rocks. After about half an hour, all the necessary items lay in the middle of the cave stacked in the form of a fire.It was also good that the island is located in the South and at night it was not cold, and during the day it was warm enough.
The second race in the forest was to the pond with water lilies and frogs ,which was located near the shelter. This place could be found by following the direction of the river. So it was almost impossible to get lost. Water lilies are not reeds , but they will also pass for a bed .When he returned, he left them to dry in the sun.
The third time he decided to go fishing, in the same pond. The catch was small , but it was enough to satisfy a seven-year-old boy.
It was already evening , and the water lilies were dry .Putting the fish on them, he took their vruki and dragged them into the cave. The leaves of the water lilies were not put in the most comfortable, but still the bed. A leather bag served as a pillow. The fish was still in the bowl . When he got to the fire, he quickly lit it, after all, he was training.
While the fire was burning, he began to prepare the fish for cooking . After a few minutes, the fish is already fried on the fire .Dinner will be ready soon .In the meantime, making a curtain out of a small, thick, leather towel, he closed the passage to the cave .
After dinner, he went to bed .
Somewhere around 01: 00 or 02: 00.
He often woke up to something like crying, which gets worse every time.Viggo was very scared, but he gathered his will and decided to check who was making this cry. With the help of the still-burning fire, he made himself a torch. He left the cave and went to the source of the sound.
The crying increases, and turns into someone's painful and heart-rending moans. With each step, the forest around them only grew darker.Trees took on the appearance of strange monsters .The sky was turning a deep purple, and the stars were not visible because of the dark red clouds. The air around them smelled of dead things, and there was a sound of someone slurping.Suddenly Viggo's whole body is paralyzed, and he sees a body behind the bushes.Of the fear he hides behind the rubble and looking at a terrible picture.
Before him was a bald, disfigured, and huge dragon. From the smiling mouth of which the flesh descended in bloody streams. He recognized the prey of this monster , it was a teenager whom he met on the beach in the morning. But it's not the gnawed teenager that's more terrifying, it's the dragon .It seemed to him that it was the birth of nibelheim .It resembled a Deadly Nadder, but without scales or a disfigured appearance. Its head was covered with countless curved horns. The monster had no eyes. The wings looked like broken arms with very long fingers. On its tail instead of spikes sticking out sharp as a needle bones .The paws were much more massive, with long, razor-sharp claws .His skin color was beige like a human's, but there were veins and arteries in places .It began to smile even harder, spreading its toothy and blood-stained smile all the way to its ears. And she laughed merrily as the man said something in his own language, but Viggo didn't understand a single word .
"-×%^*?,;&:))08¥¥" .
Tumblr media
Thank Thor, the monster was sated and soared into the sky, flying away.
Viggo, in a fit of shock and hysteria, ran back to the cave, his heels flashing .He couldn't even squeak, thinking that this creature would want to eat him ,too . He didn't want to pass this test. He was smart, and remembered that his main prey is nibelheim dragon , as they are called.
This monster was described in legends as a carrier of the worst disease , "Lekantinism".If a person managed to survive (although this word is figurative) after his attack, then he will live in agony, every night reincarnating in Lekantra. But no one knows what really happened to the man and the dragon.
This is unfortunately what our hero will have to learn.
When he reached the cave ,he threw the torch into the water and hid inside . He became hysterical. Falling on the stone floor, he began to cry loudly and call for help. But alas, no one will come to him .After a few minutes, he calmed down a little and Remembered Armstrong's words . He quickly pulled his bag towards him to get a book and a coal.
Viggo began writing a letter to his father asking him to take it back. And in addition, he could barely describe what happened to him now. After that, he put aside all the items and decided to wait for the beautiful sun.
As soon as it was morning, the birds began to sing their morning songs. Our hero was already running to Armstrong's house. He couldn't lie down to rest.
When he reached the house, he quickly knocked on the door, and then recoiled from it ,turning red as a tomato .Because he didn't expect Armstrong to come out of it just waking up in his underwear. After a few moments, he realized that he was standing in front of the child not in the best clothes and posture. The man allowed the child to enter the house , and he began to dress, ashamed.
After the morning nonsense. They sat down at the table to eat Breakfast , but only Armstrong, Viggo after yesterday ,him appetite Packed up and left him.
The man noticed the red streaks on the boy's face and decided to ask him what was wrong and why he was crying.
"Viggo, first of all, I'm sorry about this morning's concert.I am ashamed of this , I did not expect that someone would come to visit me in the morning."
" nothing ."it was very quiet.
"And one more thing, why were you crying?"
With this question, Viggo's face turned pale, and other than the strange combinations of sounds, he could not utter anything else.
"Don't be afraid, I'll have it all ,honestly."
"P ... just me ..I strongly this b..Bo..I'm afraid."
"What are you afraid of?"
" Dragon's "
"Hmm, I told you that you can't hunt them, fool, stop being afraid they are just animals , and they follow their instincts."
"-×%^*?,;&:))08¥ ¥ " Viggo said.
"Uh , sorry about what?"
"So the dragon said."
"Uh , Viggo ,dragons can't talk."
"No! HE WAS TALKING, AND I HEARD IT !"
"Hey, what are you doing, calm down , everything's fine "
"THERE'S NOTHING GOOD,I SAW A BALD AND DISFIGURED DRAGON WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE DEVOUR A PERSON, A PERSON, AND THEN SAID THIS PHRASE AND FLEW AWAY!!!"
"Stop, wait, calm down first, just breathe in and out .Now, you said you saw a bald dragon eating a human?"
"Yes, I was very scared of him and hid in a cave.I wanted to give you the letter , to be honest, so that you could send it to my father.I don't want to stay here anymore.I'm afraid it might come back and want to eat me."
With that, Viggo began to cry again, and then opened his bag, took out the letter, and put it on the table. The man, clearly discouraged by such statements of the boy, took the letter and got up from the table.
"Viggo I'll be back soon, but in the meantime, you wait , and better lie down and sleep on my bed , you're tired.I'll send an email and come back."
Armstrong left the house and went to the post office.Viggo obeyed, found his room and bed, and lay down to take a NAP. Soon he fell asleep.

"!!!@@&*((¥@))₽₽₽#&&,'/_€÷¥"
Said the Monstrous Nightmare, following in Viggo's Wake. And in a few moments Viggo was in the clutches of his monster.
" (÷):^^;))-#$"
" What,......what do you want from me?!"
":)))^*^)"
And with that, Viggo is completely in its toothy mouth. He tries hard to resist, but his hands slide over his tongue .As a result, the creature tries to swallow it whole.Turning his feet to the throat, he rests them against the monster's tonsils, and his hands cling to the fangs, screaming and begging for help. Eventually, his feet slip off his tonsils, and Viggo ends up in his throat .After a few moments, he opens his eyes to see around him a black, glowing and transparent liquid-gastric juice .
"Well, that's it, my end has come, and my father will never know or find me "
" :))))!!"
But when the pain starts, something grabs him and shakes him like a rag.
------------------------
Viggo wakes up wide-eyed, choking on her own tears.Armstrong stared at him in horror, his blue eyes showing only fear.
"Uncle Armstrong, don't worry, I often have nightmares ."
"Nightmares! Yes, you literally ran around my ceiling and growled incomprehensible phrases, rushed at me, tried to strangle and bite me.I will continue to list your antics, so-called nightmares!"
"I ... I was sleeping, and the dragon was trying to strangle me and eat me."
"Well, I don't know about the dragon, but before you go to bed, warn me, at least I'll tie you to the bed or something.""
"Please forgive me, I really didn't see anything"
"Okay, forget it.By the way, your father will be here in a few days , but in the meantime, will you stay with me well?"
"Well "
With these words, they decided to remove the mayhem of the unfortunate room. After cleaning, we went down to lunch.
In the meantime, they're having lunch. Perform different work within 2 days. Viggo no longer had such nightmares. But here comes the very moment when our hero is possessed by night horror.Day 10: 00.
Viggo picks berries for a cake in the woods .When suddenly his attention is attracted, crows gathered in a black cloud and flew away. Then he sees one tree after another break and fall on its side. And what breaks them rushes straight in his direction .Viggo is terrified and, throwing the basket, he begins to run towards the settlement. But before he reaches half the way, right before his eyes POPs up his dragon from nightmares, a giant bald and terrible Monstrous Nightmare. Its head resembled a deer's skin-covered skull, with huge curved horns .Empty and humanized eyes . .Bones sticking out of his back.Throbbing veins completed the picture. It's like a nightmare . It does not hesitate for a moment to attack Viggo. In shock, he took the hit .The claws cut through the flesh of his chest and neck, leaving huge cuts.Blood spurted from their necks.Viggo screamed at the top of his lungs .And the monster did not calm down , it began to tear his stomach and chest with its teeth, releasing black drool . But there was a whoosh of an arrow ,and Viggo fell from the monster's mouth .And it itself died, falling to the ground .The arrow went through him the skull. All Viggo could see before he lost consciousness was the terrified faces of the young hunters and Armstrong.
Our hero is not dead now he is in the infirmary. In the meantime, others are looking at the monster they shot recently. The worst thing is that with exactly the same cuts, but from other bezcheshuichetyh dragons, arrived from different parts of at least 4 people. And they were all in their bunks.
In the evening, the parents of the injured and surviving children arrived on the island.
Ragnarok raced to the room where Viggo lay ,Riker barely able to keep up with him.As soon as they were in the right room, Ragnarok ran to his son and took his hand.
"Son, if you can hear me, please answer me...."
But there was no answer.Soon Viggo's hand became cold and limp ,a sign of death.Riker and his father burst into tears .Too big a loss for them.Ragnarok wanted to take his son to Valhala that night.
Night.Everyone gathered near the common grave .The dead 5 children were put in one boat .And let the waves. But as soon as the moon peeked out from behind the clouds, something happened that threw everyone into horror. There were groans from the ship, then screams, and then growls .After a few moments, the ship began to sink into the water .And sank.A black ball with a red glowing dots began to approach the shore. Some began to hide behind the cobblestones, while others drew their bows and prepared arrows. Parents unsheathed their swords. And the tangle was getting closer and closer. Suddenly one of the creatures from the tangle climbed up on the reef. This creature was no longer a child, this huge winged creature with a piercing cry that leaped into the air and landed near its mother. The mother was horrified to see her child like this .But instead of showing my mom that everything is fine, I'm here, I'm alive, I just changed a little. He pounced on her ,then tore her throat out ,grabbed her, and like a featherless bird flew away with her dying mother.
On the second and third, they did not stand on ceremony and immediately got arrows in their temples.Kill them .The fourth, like the first, flew away. The fifth was Viggo. He turned into a disfigured dog.
Tumblr media
But unlike the first one, he did not attack ,but ran away into the woods.
In the morning, everyone sailed home with terrible grief, and village the people down with them.
