When the draw went live last year, a participant - rightly - pointed out that posting a link to a spreadsheet listing everyone's likes/ dislikes may not have been the best idea; since the dislikes section allows participants to list potential triggers.

Since the draw was already live, I rectified this by deleting the post and making the document accessible ONLY through being sent a link. This worked perfectly well last year, however (if somebody wanted to be a grade-A prick) they could have taken that link and posted it anywhere.

I've put a lot of thought into it and come to the conclusion that the only *perfect* solution would be to do the entire draw process myself, then individually message everyone who their recipient is, as well as their likes/ dislikes.

Now.

I'd really rather not have to do that, as it's going to make the entire process a lot more involved on my end; there were 56 participants last year (including myself) and I expect that number to be higher this time around since people have been following this blog in the off-season. I am very depressed and very lazy disabled and work so hard and have no monies.

But for the love of god, frotting, AND communism: I WILL pull my thumb out my ass and do that if people prefer it: Answer a poll!

ANYWAY:

You have until August 1st 2024 to create something; be that art, writing, music, ect. You then post your work and @ tag @ your partner in it! You can also submit it to this blog, however I will try to share everyone's works regardless.

Due to time zones and life in general I'll give a day's grace period, but the cut-off will be August 5th (If you fill in the form then PLEASE do try to create something for your partner, even if it's something small) Obviously things come up, so if it's looking like you won't be able to create something then please get in contact ASAP so that I can sort something out.

excuse me i need to Muse on something for a moment

so in Wally's secret 'vinyl' audios, specifically the last few (if we're listening to em in chronological order), obviously he starts to sound more strained/distressed. his breathing is more labored, like it's taking all of his energy to make contact.

but the audio that really caught my attention was the "But i still can't see" one. cause he just said he has more eyes than he did before. he knows We draw them a lot, and it's thanks to that that he can see. but he still can't see?

so my question is: where is Wally physically? cause although he can (assumedly) see the WHRP goings on, he can see through the eyes We draw, that could all be on a, uh... more Intangible level of sight. like the spiral pit is forming an eye, and then there's the eye on the ceiling in the secret Staff Only section - could Wally be in the pit, that space between his reality and Ours, "watching" through the eyes? but unable to actually see with due to the pit being pitch black nothingness? is he somewhere else? is he stuck? he can see, but he can't... see.

(or is he trying to explain an abstract concept - he's not actually viewing anything, but he can sense it. like how he knows We're there, even if he can't see or hear Us. but he just doesn't have the words to describe it other than using physical senses - see, hear, look.)

and him saying "...that I can see. But it is still... I can't..." but it's still what, Wally? dark? something else that he doesn't have the words to describe, so he just says that he can't see?

i know that in the Livestream Trivia Document (compiled by @/the neighborhoodwatch) there was something said about Wally being in a box. my first thought reading that was "oh, so he's in storage? the physical puppet, i mean?" which would make sense - show's over, there's no more use for him. pack 'em up and put him away. but that paired with the "can't see" audio makes both seem a lil... connected.

Wally can't see > he's likely somewhere dark > the inside of closed boxes are dark > Wally's in a box. (or maybe the Neighborhood is the box? it's a stretch, i know, but the map is a box. television sets are often set up in "boxes". maybe it's less of a physical storage box and more of a 'boxed in' sort of thing...)

one question i've had since the Start of my interest in this incredible project is: how is Wally communicating? how has he connected to the site? how does he connect to our reality? the pit almost definitely has something to do with it - most likely acting as a bridge, or the deteriorating of the barrier between our two 'worlds' - but if Wally is in a box and Not the pit or even just in the puppet's reality... how is he reaching us beyond just seeing through the eyes he's given?

or is he in their reality, and he can contact through the pit or something, but he can't actually see the other side? Our side? he knows it's there - that We're there - but none of it is visible to him. maybe his apparent disassociation in the 14 bug audios is a demonstration of him contacting Us. we can see through him, but it's a one way street.

and speaking of the pit - i just had a thought. his whole thing with Us letting him in, opening... the pit on the neighborhood map is getting bigger and clearer. but the presumed Other Side, the one on the Staff Only ceiling, is small. it's the size of a ceiling panel. it seems to me that Wally is chipping away at his side of the pit or 'portal', trying to reach Our reality, but he needs Us to do the same thing on the other side. the QA can hear him calling, but there's no phone on their (Our) side of the pit. how do We call back???

there's a fundamental barrier & lack of understanding between Wally and the QA/Us. he's trying. he wants to be let in, but what does that mean, really? let him in where? open what? he's desperate. he wants us to understand. he's trying so so hard Without the right tools to clearly communicate what he wants. he can't see Us, We can see him, both know the other is there, but there's no way to connect. and the attempts are hurting all parties involved, however unintentionally

was thinking about this post of jackie wearing shauna’s flannel after she finds out shauna slept with jeff. i was thinking about this and i was thinking about how jackie is so furious at shauna and feels so betrayed by her but still cant help but instinctively seek comfort in her. and even when jackie tries to shut shauna out and force herself to move on, it all still comes back to shauna anyway because why else would she look over her shoulder and make sure shauna sees her walk off with travis? the more jackie tries to make it not about shauna the more it IS about shauna (and of course the more shauna tries to make jeff not about jackie, the more it IS about jackie) and shauna is so deeply embedded in jackie that even after the ultimate betrayal jackie still cant help but reach for her, whether for comfort/familiarity (flannel) or to try to hurt her (by sleeping with travis) or even just to get her attention (again, sleeping with travis) but either way she’s still literally physically and emotionally incapable of not reaching for shauna. so anyway i was thinking about this and then it was making me soooo unwell so i decided to inflict it on all of you so you can think about it too

Anyway, I had an original design for this type of look on the Ipad, ended up not looking at it once since I apparently have memory. Kinda glad I didn't since I could go just by memory and figure it out as I went along ya know. (ps, for those who don't normally read tags just like, please do, i put so many lil things in there lolz)

Okay SO, I have this lil headcanon, nothin big, that Jersey didn't used to wear shorts until like 2000 or something, maybe a bit before then. This is because he has some scars on his legs, just from over the years, and wearing shorts not only shows those but also make it easier for him to get scrapes and such.

He was fine wearing shorts around NY, Del, and Rhode, occasionally Mass as well if he happened to be around at the time. He couldn't wear them around anyone else for a long time, some scars had Memories(tm) attached to them, some good most bad, so he just never wore shorts.

He's gotten a lot more comfortable wearing them around the other states over the years, mainly because of Covid where Mass unfortunately wouldn't let him keep wearing the same two pairs of pants. So he's fine now, if still a lil uncomfortable around some states (the west mainly), you just won't see him wearing them until it's the first day over 60 in state.

Anyway I love NJ but this isn't surprising, I live here. I am NOT a simp for this bitch, he's my state, I have to like him, 'sides who else would I attach to? Pennsylvania? Florida? Or god forbid NEW YORK!? Absolutely not, that's sacrilegious that is.

when it comes to the defense of fanfiction, i dislike remarks along the lines of "the divine comedy is just fanfic!!" not because i look down on fanfic, but because i want to acknowledge the unique merits of fanfic, because i love fanfic and fanfic authors and transformative fandom. every story is in conversation with other stories, but every story is not fanfic. there is always going to be overlap of course, there are similarities between why people create and enjoy fanfic and why they create and enjoy other forms of literature, as well as similarities in content and style, but this type of flippant response is SO common now and has done way more harm than good. you don't need to justify your love of fanfic by erasing what's special about modern transformative fandom, the solution is not to broaden the category. instead, stop letting people use the term fanfic as a pejorative. it's their loss, not yours.

Hi!! First off--congratulations on realizing you were a lesbian! Welcome! I am so happy for you that you made that discovery! Congrats!!!

I am going to make an obligatory disclaimer here that I am far from the end-all be-all of butch/femme identity--this is all just going to be from my own knowledge/experience, and I'm too sleepy rn to cite my sources.

Femme and butch are in my opinion a little more vague since they are entire identities in and of themselves. Definitely you can approach them as meaning "feminine lesbian" and "masculine lesbian" and just leave it as that, but in my opinion and in my experience I have found both butch and femme to be their own forms of gender, societal, and sexual identities. They are most often seen as identities that pair with each other and compliment each other-- a relationship born out of the beauty of differences.

Certainly there are femmes that are feminine in a conventional, cishetero-white way. There are also femmes that look masculine, femmes that are feminine in decolonized ways, femmes that are genderqueer. The same may be said for butches-- there are butches that are masculine in a conventional way, butches that are feminine, butches that are masculine in a genderfucking way, butches that are masculine in a nonwhite way. There is no one singular way to look femme or butch, but in my experience it is more of a way you carry yourself and a way in which you interact with other femmes and butches. Many may (and have) perceived me in a more masculine sense who were not queer, and I still consider myself femme, because of the way I comport myself and the way I interact with my community.

This is a very long way to answer your question-- my ultimate answer is no! There is no specific definition for them, as far as I know. To me, butch and femme identities are a mix of presentation, genderfucking, deconstruction of the heteropatriarchal society we live in, and red hot lesbian sex. So I guess in that sense they are more like gender identities, where each identity is unique to the person constructing it.

There's many better places to find more about butch/femme identity and culture-- I thoroughly recommend going through @goldxnfemme's wonderful 'sharing the knowledge series' tag, as well as reading 'The Persistent Desire', 'Stone Butch Blues' (mind the warnings for graphic rape, police brutality, homo/transphobia, and racism), and 'Persistence: All Ways Butch and Femme', if you're interested in learning more in a better way that's not me exhausted at 7:08pm.
