Ella Ashmore is mentally ill because she told multiple people multiple times that she is Being Abused and Struggling and Needs Help and they all end up singing a song about how crazy and dirty she is and avoid her and throw her into a river.

So I started writing this before today's episode aired but I wanted to finish it anyway
Vic finds him in front of Jack’s grave again. As much as she loved her dad, it feels like she’s been to his grave more since Robert came back than she has in the last year combined.
“You know, when I said you might need to deal with everything you went through inside, this isn’t really what I had in mind.” she smirks as she walks over.
He just stares ahead, taking a large swig out of the bottle of whiskey he has hanging by his side.
She comes to stand beside him, staring down at the grave herself, at the neatly placed flowers she put there last week.
“Does it help?” she looks up at him, “you being here. Does it make you feel better?”
Robert huffs out a laugh, but she notices the shine to his eyes as he lifts the bottle to his lips again.
“No,” he finally gets out in a small voice, “No, it doesn’t help. It just makes me feel
”
She doesn’t look away. “Makes you feel what, Robert?”
Unwilling, or unable, to finish the sentence, he shakes his head, bottle to his lips again as his eyes scan the rest of the graveyard. He doesn’t catch it at first, his eyes glancing at it then moving on quickly, only faintly registering in his slightly tipsy brain as a name he should recognise. His eyes dart back and, no, they weren’t playing tricks on him.
Olivia Louise Flaherty.
He drops the bottle, cheap whiskey spilling out and soaking into his dad’s grave. It takes a second for Victoria to follow his eyeline, to figure out why his face has gone slack.
“Wait
” but he’s already marching towards it, more determined that she’s seen him since he’s been back. “Robert, wait!”
It can’t be true. He’d know, he’d know if Liv was dead, wouldn’t he?
But there it is, literally written in stone in front of him.
Olivia Louise Flaherty
19th October 2022
He feels like his brain is going to explode.
“Robert
” Vic finally catches up with him, trying to put an arm around him. “I’m so sorry.”
But it means nothing, he barely hears her. It’s too much and he’s on his knees and the tears are streaming and and

He has to go. He has to leave, because he feels like if he stares at that slab of stone any longer, he’s going to stop breathing.
Aaron’s just fixing a sandwich when the doorbell goes, trilling around the apartment. He’s barely halfway to the door when it goes again, and again, desperate for attention.
“Alright, alright I’m coming!” he mutters under his breath. Pressing the button, “Hello?”
Some heavy breathing, and then, “Aaron.”
He lets out a sigh. He’s really not in the mood to have to deal with Robert today. At least John’s not in right now.
“Robert, seriously? I really don’t have time for this
”
“Aaron. Please.” His voice cracks, tinny over the intercom. And Aaron hears the pleading, the desperate edge in his voice, can tell he’s been crying.
And he hates how quickly his resolve is broken, how little hesitation he has before he presses the button to let him up.
He opens the door to a different Robert than he’s seen since he’s been back. He’s slumped against the wall with a tear stained face and muddy knees. Aaron can only assume the worst.
“Robert? What’s wrong? Has something happened?”
He looks up, wiping a hand over his face, only achieving dragging a smudge of mud further down his cheek.
“Three years? She’s been dead three years and I didn’t know?”
And the realisation hits him like a moving truck, of course Robert didn’t know. How could he? He didn’t even think. He takes the taller man by the arm, surprising himself by pulling him into a hug. And they stand like that, Robert’s slumped form eventually molding into the shape of Aaron’s arms. He can feel Robert sobbing against him, and feels the tears start to come for himself.
“I’m so sorry,” Robert slurs against him. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here for her. Or for you.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“I really did think I was doing the right thing, you know? I thought you’d be better without me, I thought
”
At this Aaron detangles himself from Robert, looking up at him.
“Yeah, you thought a lot of things. But we needed you Robert, I needed you. And you weren’t there.” It’s more resentment than Aaron realised he had. He sees Robert’s defeated look, knows it’s not fair. “I’m sorry. Really, I’m sorry you found out like this, it wasn’t fair. But you need to go.”
Robert slumps back against the wall. “Aaron, please
”
“We can talk about her another time, yeah? We’ll go visit the grave, together, I promise. But I can’t do this right now.”
Roberts nods slowly, lifting himself from the wall and turning to walk away.
“I’ll be better.” Robert says. “In the future, when you give me another chance, I’ll be better.”
Aaron doesn’t say anything. Doesn’t really know what to say. He just stands, watching as Robert walks away, waiting for the front door to close.
John arrives home after work, complaining about something Liam said, or did, or whatever. Aaron's not really listening. He dug out all of his photos of Liv, been looking at them all afternoon.
John comes to sit beside him, picks up a few of the photos. "Hey, what's brought this on? I haven't seen you looking at these for a while?"
"What, I need an excuse to look at pictures of my sister?" Aaron snaps back at him, instantly regretting his tone.
"No of course not," John takes his hand. "Just want to make sure everything is alright. Did something happen?"
Aaron pauses, thinks about Robert, about comforting him. That despite the circumstances how right it felt to have Robert in his arms again. About telling him to leave despite the fact, no because of the fact, that all he wanted to do was tell him to stay.
"No." He lies. "Nothing happened."

been listening to a lot of pirate ship ambiences recently bc they’ve been helping me concentrate but do you know what it’s got me thinking about?
the terror pirate au
hear me out. the crews of terror and erebus have been rivals for years because their captains (Crozier & Franklin) hate each other. and when I say rivals I mean RIVALS. like this is known among every single pirate crew in the world. they’re each constantly trying to get to treasure or ports before the other ship, fighting and causing a hell of a load of trouble wherever they go. then one night, Franklin’s out on deck on his own when he hears what he thinks is his wife’s voice (it’s not of course, it’s a siren) but he dives into the sea and swims to her, never to be seen again. erebus then gets a new captain (Fitzjames) and the rivalry is still as bad as ever. that is until both crews end up on the same pirate port just as a huge storm hits it, making it literally impossible to sail out of there. they’re stuck there for the night and at one point, the captains disappear. no one really knows what they got up to but rumours begin to fly once the crews of terror and erebus started sailing the seas together, no longer fighting or shooting at each other every chance they got

it makes me so sad how, like so many of them, van was truly doomed from the start. every time she survived something horrific it was a miracle. the plane crash was supposed to eat her up with its flames, the wolves were supposed to chew her up and leave no piece behind, the pyre was supposed to burn her alive. and the cancer was supposed to be the last summit. she was always supposed to die.
so, it's so terribly sad watching her react to her own death at the hands of melissa. she's still shocked, even after everything, that she actually dies in the end. because even if she was always supposed to die, she never wanted to.
making peace with her own death was just another story she told. and she was always really good at following her own tales, believing her own lies. at least, until the truth finally arrived.

Spec: the hurdles buck and Tommy are about to face are due to Buck feeling responsible for almost killing Gerrard who is extremely grateful he saved his life (which is why they end up golfing together) and goes along with it. Tommy warns him against it and to not become one of his guys (like he was - hence the baggage) and Buck has to navigate between his feelings of guilt and Tommy having flashbacks to his 118 days. I would go insane if Buck had Gerrard over (the man basically invites himself) and Tommy is just freezing like at the medal ceremony.

My thoughts might not make much sense because of how fuzzy my memories are of the early game. And this is definitely common knowledge within the fandom. But I love how characters question Pits autonomy when it comes to working for Palutena.
Like Dark Pit isn't evil at all despite what people who haven't played the game like think. He is neutral. He doesn't really serve anyone. Even in the later arcs when he helps defeat the Chaos Kin and revives Pit, its more so out of kindness rather than owning them anything, y'know? And its not like Dark Pit is entirely serious either, he still has his silly moments! With these two traits in mind, it shows that he really isn't all that different from Pit.
The ring of chaos (?) arc and so on afterwards really shows that Pit genuinely chooses to work for Palutena I think. Like hes still a little stoopid, but its not hard to imagine him refusing to serve her if she was *genuinely* evil during those three years. He may not be able to 100% word his ideals, but hes clearly passionate about them, even without Palutena by his side.
Like depsite another thing people who haven't played the game might think, Pits and Palutenas relationship isn't exactly son and mother. She literally fucking bullies him /silly. She pushes him around. Teases him. Questions his silly antics. Slightly off topic, but you can't really apply a typical relationship dynamic onto them, and I really think that adds a lot. Because even though Palutena isn't perfectly polite, Pit still looks up to her because of what she believes in.
So really the only things that *really* set Pit and Pittoo apart is not only that one is :D and the other is >:(, but also how they handle their choices in life. How they serve the gods and the humans. How easy it is to gain faith in them, and how they decide to show that faith.
Tldr: Something something Pit isn't obliviously following Palutenas orders and he isn't *thattt* dumb (still silly billy though). His beliefs are challenged and I think that adds a lot to his morals :]
(Also I vaguely remember a conversation of one of the gods going "Well if Dark Pit hates the gods, and if hes a reflection of Pit, then how does the latter feel about Palutena?". So theres that)

I wanna rant about Shadow‘s name.
So „Shadow“ is short for „Shadow Link“, which was given to him by Ganon as he was created/chosen by him (depending on what you think the pre-manga deal is with him), I think we can agree on that. But the thing is, „Shadow Link“ could be a name, but also a title or a rank of sorts. It‘s impersonal and it orients itself based not on the person it belongs to, but somebody else. So much to that.
Then the abbreviation of that, „Shadow“. Was this chosen by Ganon, because he was tired of always saying the full name? I don‘t think so, the guy likes to insist on his superiority and the formality between him and other signalling it. Vaati? That guy joined Ganon‘s side rather late into their plans, it‘s unlikely. It must‘ve been Shadow. For what reason, though?
This is gonna get pretentious: on one hand, I think it kind of represents the wish to deviate from the personality anchored to Link by removing the element in the name that contains him more outwardly, but on the other hand also a sort of resignation: Shadow doesn‘t choose a name for himself (or maybe he did and the manga just doesn‘t show it), instead, he accepts the name given to him and changes it to something that is both derogatory as it reduces him to „just a shadow“ and empowering because of the lack of his counterpart and focus on just Shadow.
Did Shadow ever think to just choose his own name that has nothing to do with Link or Ganon or any of that? Was his brain ever free enough from his work under Ganon to do so? Or maybe he figured Ganon wouldn‘t approve of it. In that case, when he did start calling himself just „Shadow“ and Ganon questioned it, he could‘ve justified it with the self-derogatory notion (that Ganon probably would agree with more) while actually aiming for the empowering one.
I don‘t think Shadow‘s brain is hardwired to drive two lanes at once like that, though (plus again kind of cult situation going on, lying to Ganon about why he does anything probably wouldn‘t end well), so I‘ll say he wasn‘t questioned on it at all and Ganon just took it as his servant‘s usual immaturity.
(The same arguments could be made for the colours‘ names, but I won‘t do that because they don‘t haunt my brain.)
