I was scrolling through my old Twitter bookmarks, and had a super belated realization that earlier in the year I had a brilliant idea from a Red Death clip I saw from Venture Bros—but replace Red Death with Billy and the poor victim with some cannon fodder smuck he’s grilling for information about a Supe to build up & foreshadow to the last scene in ch3. I’d just forgotten to write it, ahhhhh.

I debated posting this, because this scene is unfinished and will be either deleted or, more likely, heavily revised. So this won’t exist in the final draft version you’ll see on AO3. But I also know there are a handful of my readers who find it interesting to read this writer’s thoughts/ deleted content/ rough drafts. So here you go, lovelies ✨💖.

In fact, in SPN they're ALL "soulmates," because they're all bound to the SAME STORY. They're all awake at the same time, past and present.

The Wicked Witch and Dorothy are "soulmates," and I will absolutely hand it to Robbie Thompson that he took the concept of "soulmate" and extended it beyond a romantic connection, wrapping it in the idea of NARRATIVE, that the characters are in fact all interdependent by the very nature of story. He deepens the meaning. It's at once simpler AND more complex, an idea of being bound to a story.

- First, I noticed Venus conjunct Moon people tend to be kind to everyone. They can't help it.They  have a big heart.They can be very generous. It can be hard for them to say no. Some people might want to take avantage of them. Also, they can be people pleaser because of their desire to be liked among their peers, especially if it is in Libra ♎or Taurus ♉.I know someone with this placement, and even during an argument she tends to make herself very little,she almost tries to disappear from the situation.They want to avoid conflicts. They might have deceitful tendencies.

- I have a lot of trines and sextiles in synastry with a friend and I know that these are aspects usually considered as the "easy" ones within synastry. So, I have to say that we have a good time together and I think she's really nice but I find our relationship a bit boring sometimes, like there is not much excitment you know? And of course harsh aspects like square and opposition can add tension and difficulty to a relationship. I personally think that when I share some hard aspects whith someone, I tend to learn a lot from the relationship. - We often talk about how Scorpio ♏ascendant/Pluto conjunct Ascendant or in 1st house are usually very magnetic to others. But what about Libra ♎/ Sagittarius ♐ Ascendant and Jupiter in the 1st house individuals ? They tend to attract a lot of attention and have amazing smiles !

- Aquarius♒ placements can give off independant vibes. Kind of like I don't care I'm good on my own type of thing. Also, A LOT OF THEM wear HEADPHONES!!

-I noticed that Capricorn ♑placements always have prominent or well defined teeth/ nose/cheekbones or jawline! It's crazy!

Cas is right. Dean, with all of his free will intact, would NOT have murdered the Stynes kid.

Like Cas, with his free will intact, would never have murdered Samandriel.

Their assessments of one another are actually correct.

And essentially, they tell each other, "you're gonna have to go through me" (to become that).

And here's what's on my mind... They were both GOOD at being soldiers. Unbelievably good.

Their talents were recognized early and exploited. They became chained to their respective battle aptitudes.

Both had to reckon with becoming addicted to war, to the feeling of adrenaline and black-and-white causes (see: Purgatory, hunting, etc.). Both often feel too much responsibility, punishing themselves and undertaking penance.

They struggled with thinking it's all they were good for, battle or WORK.

Or worse. For Dean, it was often being one of the "crazy ones," only "good for a fling." For Cas, it was often "being expendable."

They're looked down upon by the likes of Metatron: Cas is like a "dumb puppy," a "stupid, lumbering jock." Even Crowley talks to Dean this way on occasion: "It's math (idiot)."

It's also like when Death calls Cas a "stupid soldier." Or when the British Men of Letters call the ones on the ground doing the fighting and getting their hands dirty "dogs." Or when Henry calls hunters "apes."

Despite their supposed "legacy lineage," Sam and Dean inherited the Campbell class. The soldier class.

Interesting to me that Jack inherits this, too. Despite his aptitude for nearly everything he touches (computers, research, even blossoming machete skills when he kills Noah the Gorgon), Jack too will inherit this Campbell-coded "stupidity."

That's what Chuck charges him with in Unity: "TOO STUPID."

Jack has Cas and Dean's class: the soldier class.

WASPS OF THE WORLD - A REVIEW

Howdy everyone! and happy Wasp Wednesday!

Yesterday, I finished reading through this book, and figured I'd share my thoughts and reasons to recommend it, given how recently published it is as of writing! (February 6th, 2024)

So, How Extensive Is It?:

The cover doesn't lie, for the most part, covering every family that one might traditionally consider to be wasps as of the publishing date, and more! Despite being simply titled 'Wasps Of The World', you may be surprised to learn that this book essentially covers all of Hymenoptera, to an extent.

The taxonomically minded of you might expect ants and bees to get at least a passing mention, also being wasps themselves, although their sections are less extensive than other well known families, and the bee families are not covered individually (I cannot yet speak for the quality of these books but this book recommends the publications 'Ants, A Visual Guide' by Heather Campbell and Benjamin Blanchard, and 'Bees Of The World' by Laurence Packer for more extensive reading).

What you might not expect however, is the section on suborder Symphyta, which is to say, sawflies! Each family of this suborder is covered in pages 30 - 59, just as extensively as those in Apocrita (Covered in pages 60 - 233). I must say this was a pleasant surprise!

How Is It Covered? (Extensiveness Continued):

The length of each segment tends to depend on how much is actually known about each family and how unique each species or subfamily is from each other within, and may range from a short paragraph to up to 4 pages. Images, with descriptions, are provided for each family, sometimes just one but usually two or more, as well as a section covering; Distribution (with geographic map), Genera, Habitats, Size, Activity, Reproduction, and Diet

Of course, with the species richness of an order like Hymenoptera, not everything about each family can be covered in a 200+ page book, but this book provides an absolutely fantastic framework of knowledge from nesting and parasitizing behavior, to their vast ecological benefits (or pest statuses in the few cases where applicable), as well as a glossary of some of the more technical terms used (Page 234) and suggested further reading (Page 235)

The book also contains a wonderful introductory section (Pages 6 - 29) covering generally common behaviors, anatomy, diversity, biology, conservation, classification, and even how wasps are photographed! (bonus points for the mention of iNaturalist)

Would I Recommend It?/How Good Is It For Someone Like Me (The Reader)?:

The short answer is Absolutely/Great!

The longer answer is yes, I would recommend it, as already mentioned, it provides an extensive amount of knowledge for those just getting interested in Hymenoptera or entomology in general, and provides plenty in the way of extra information that even someone who's been invested in the study for quite a while may not yet know, including more recent developments in each family's classification.

As the title might suggest, the book may also see some use as a field guide, or as an aid to teach others about wasps!

The book is also relatively cheap comparatively to some textbooks, available for $25 - $30 for an outright purchase

In Conclusion:

This is a wonderful book and I'm very happy with my purchase! It feels weird giving a star rating to non-fiction publications but if I had to give one, it would be

So wait. WAIT. I'm just being struck by it all once more...

5-6 Hiatus: Sam comes back from the dead almost immediately and decides to let Dean suffer thinking he was still dead, and goes off to hook up with the Campbells and hunt on his own, essentially moving on without Dean like it was nothing.

(No it does not matter that he was soulless, considering this is one of FIVE!!!! times he does this in canon)

Season 6: Sam gets Dean turned into a vampire, which ultimately leads to the dissolution of his relationship with Ben and Lisa, essentially robbing Dean of a wife and child.

Season 7: Sam kills Emma in front of Dean and tries to say she wasn't really Dean's daughter, robbing Dean of another child.

7-8 Hiatus: Sam leaves Dean in Purgatory, not even bothering to confirm he was really dead, and runs off to play at a normal life with literally the first woman he exchanges more than three sentences with.

Season 8: Sam gives Dean ultimatum after ultimatum about Benny until he succeeds in driving a wedge between them, robbing Dean of a friend.

Season 9: Dean isolates himself from Cas to save Sam's life after Sam decided the only possible reaction to receiving very valid criticism on his selfish behavior is to try and make himself a human fucking sacrifice.

And THEN, when Dean basically has no one else left BUT Sam BECAUSE OF Sam...that's when Sam tells him he wouldn't do the same for Dean. That if the roles were reversed he's just let Dean die.

Is anyone surprised that Dean felt worthless and poisonous and expendable enough to get in bed with Crowley and take the Mark? Is it any fucking wonder that the first thing Dean did when he woke up as a demon was get as far away from Sam as possible? Is it even mildly shocking that the ONLY thing he asked of Sam at that point was "stay the fuck away from me"?
