Here's an idea for you; so Rick Flagg and June Moone are a thing in the movie, but Enchantress wants the reader. Hilarity ensues.
Rick: no! I don’t want to share June with anyone.
Enchantress: but I love Y/N, let me control June for one night!
June: no I love Rick and only Rick
Y/N: Enchantress, what if you possess me instead of June? That way you’d always be with me.
Enchantress: (hums) sounds good to me
Enchantress leaves June and transfers into Y/N…
Enchantress: oh baby I’m never leaving. Come on let’s do something fun

"Rights are being stripped from basically everyone who isn't a straight white cisgender male," she tells Vogue, when asked about why she chose to, all of a sudden, stand up for LGBTQ+ rights. "I didn't realize until recently that I could advocate for a community that I'm not a part of."
Source: https://www.out.com/news/2019/8/08/taylor-swift-says-shes-straight-despite-all-bisexual-rumors#toggle-gdpr
I was waiting for this to come through my inbox lol. (There was more then one ask about this but I'm only responding to the first.)
There's lots to unpack here but the first and foremost thing is: She doesn't actually say here, "I'm straight." It was a perfect opportunity. It was the ideal conversation. She punted. Why?
Why did she instead give this vague, circuitous, carefully couched answer?
She calls out communities encompassing sexuality, race, and gender, followed by saying, "a community that I'm not a part of." There are lots of communities that she could have been referring to, but she crafted the sentence in such a way that makes it unclear which one. She could have been talking about the trans community. She could have been talking about the poc community. She could have been talking about the ace community. She could have been talking about the gay male community. There are lots of possibilities. In this carefully worded sentence, she deliberately avoided naming the specific community she's talking about.
Another thing to consider is that many, many closeted people don't consider themselves part of the queer community. They don't feel like they belong because they're not out and proud. And even once people come out, it often still takes time before they feel like they're part of the queer community. That was certainly my personal experience. Cara Delevingne said something similar in her Hulu show when discussing her own coming out.
Let's move on. The link anon provided isn't the source. It's an article quoting the source. The actual source is the 2019 Vogue cover article. And the full article is important because there are lots of interesting things that give context to this quote.
First, there's a great deal of conversation about gay stuff and lgbtq+ rights. And the writer makes a point of saying about this subject matter that Taylor seems to enjoy that part of the conversation "as much as she’d enjoy a root canal." Wouldn't a straight ally be eager to discuss this? They would. And a closeted queer person would be uncomfortable and panicking at the thought of having to talk so blatantly about this subject. The writer also makes a point of saying that once the conversation changes to music, Taylor lights up and her demeanor and speech patterns relax dramatically.
The other important context that the Vogue article discusses is Taylor's very long history of supporting lgbtq+ rights. Everything from the Mean mv of a gay boy being bullied to the "boys and boys and girls and girls" line in WTNY to donations to lgbtq+ organizations to giving out queer awards to queer people to dedicating Dress to Loie Fuller, an openly gay artist. There are plenty of other examples of Taylor advocating for the queer community that aren't mentioned. All the way back in 2008 she participated in the LOGO queer anti-bullying PSA. In 2009 she was in Seventeen magazine taking a stand against the slaying of a teenager for being gay.
Why is this important? Because it proves that Taylor is lying in the quote in question. "I didn't realize until recently that I could advocate…" girl yes you did. You've been advocating for years and years at this point. She's lying. She's lying. She's covering herself up. She's hiding in the closet and hoping desperately that no one notices.
And this isn't the first time she's done this either. During the 1989 press tour she gave an interview where she was asked about the "And you can want who you want / Boys and boys and girls and girls" line. As the interviewer is starting to speak about this, a look of pure panic immediately takes over Taylor's face:
Tumblr media
And then she starts stumbling around trying to give a coherent answer. At one point she stutters out, "And also I wrote this song, um, I wrote this song, kind of, kind of following, the, uh, when gay marriage became legal in New York." This interview was in October 2014. Gay marriage had been legal in New York since June 2011. Sooo three years later is "kind of following." Right. Sure, Taylor. Nice closeting. You really nailed it.
Okay let's review. She doesn't actually say she's straight even though this was a perfect opportunity to do so. She doesn't name the actual community she's talking about, giving herself cover if she ever comes out. She's closeted and probably doesn't think she's part of the queer community anyways. She full-on lies about not knowing she can advocate for others. And the writer states Taylor seems deeply uncomfortable talking about lgbtq+ things even though the context of the article was that blondie wanted to make it clear how much of an ally she is.
None of this remotely adds up to hetero. And none of this comes even close to Taylor saying that she's straight.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hey y’all! I’m gonna throw in my two cents about Pedro Pascal (and others) at the Met Gala this year because what is tumblr if not a place to give your opinion?
Let me start with this, not a single person who went to the 2023 Met Gala was secretly “protesting” the event or Karl. I’m being serious, not a single person. Especially not Pedro.
And I don’t say this to like burst anyone’s bubble! I say this as someone who likes fashion and celebrities and politics and activism. I say this as someone who loves hyping up the art Hollywood produces but who believes in being realistic about the world we are living in. And, in my opinion, pretending that rich famous celebs (even ones I love like Pedro!!) are somehow secretly subverting the system isn’t helpful. It’s actually very harmful.
So let’s break this down!
How does the Met Gala work?
So the Met Gala is actually a charity event. Every first Monday in May the Met puts on their gala to raise money for the Costume Institute. And they raise a lot of money like this. I mean A LOT. In 2017 they raised 12 million dollars.
So how to people get in??
Tickets are $50,000 a piece. Yes. $50,000. And not anyone can just buy one! Brands, like fashion house Valentino, buy tickets and then invite celebrities to go and show off their clothes. Valentino dressed 8 celebs at this years Met Gala. 8! Thats a huge chunk of change my lord.
So let me start by clearing this up: When it comes to the Met Gala Valentino is not a competitor to Karl. They just aren't. In the real world, Chanel and Valentino are competitors, but it doesn't work that way at the Met Gala in literally any sense. Not every celeb can show up in Chanel, so fashion houses and designers were asked to create looks to honor Karl. Which they did. In fact, here's Pierpaolo Piccioli honoring Karl in Vogue with a Valentino look. They were not enemies and he wasn't going to dress anyone in a "protest" look because he wanted to impress people online. Im sorry, but in the world of fashion Karl is a legend and everyone that night wanted to pay respects.
But lets move on to the actual looks.
The celebrities who were dressed by Valentino this year were Rihanna, Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal, Viola Davis, Labrinth, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas and Stephanie Hsu.
Lets look at how they were styled:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay so Karl famously loved a black and white looks so Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas and Stephanie Hsu all being in black and white is pretty spot on honoring from Valentino. Many, many celebs that night were in black and white.
But here's something else about the Met Gala, it's a really, really important event. And so many people who know nothing about fashion pay attention to it. So designers not only want to send looks that honor the theme, they want to send looks that honor their latest collections because they want people to buy their shit lol.
Viola Davis is in pink not because she wanted to protest anyone but because Valentino put out the PINKEST of PINK Fall/Winter 2022-2023 collections...ever. It's called the Pink PP collection and it literally took the fashion world by storm. Look at all that pink! This collection was literally everywhere last season, every celeb and influencer wanted this collection in their hands. If you Google "celebs Valentino pink", you're going to get a thousand photos of the hottest celebs rocking this collection. In fact, at last years Met Gala, Valentino dressed Sebastian Stan and Glen Close in pink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's just Valentino's Pink at this point. So much so that fashion critics almost cringe when they see it now lmao because it was so in our faces for that season. I understand that someone dug up a quote from Karl from years ago that people interrupted as him saying he doesn't like pink but thats actually incorrect. He used pink on the runway a lot.
Tumblr media
Here he is walking the Chanel runway with his muse Cara Delevingne who's wearing....pink. There are many many more examples of this but i'll stop.
Okay. Lets talk about Pedros look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see he's wearing this almost exactly as it came down the runway. To me this means he had really very little control over the look. It wasn't designed specifically for him (as Olivia Wilde's look was designed specifically for her by Chloe), they just took it off the runway and slapped him in it because he's literally the hottest celebrity right now and Valentino wanted him to stand out in red and have people talk about them as they talked about Pedro. That's fine! That's how fashion works!
Idk if everyone has noticed how many black and white looks there were on the carpet but I'm telling you it was a LOT. Anyone not in black and white was gonna get noticed even more. That's why Valentino put Labrinth and Pedro in matching red looks. They had just sent those looks down the runway and they wanted them to stand out and get noticed. They put Rihanna and Florence in matching white looks. Priyanka, Nick and Stephanie all matched in black and white. They built a really clear theme when you line them up together. The only one who doesn't match is Viola and thats because, as I explained above, she's wearing PP pink which is iconic to their brand right now.
He's wearing the brand logo on his fingernails not because he's protesting anyone lmao but because they bought him a ticket worth $50,000 and he OWES them. The least he can do is get a silly manicure and have everyone zoom in on his hands to see that Valentino logo! And the look is meant to be edgy! Whats the least edgy but edgy thing for him to do? Get his nails done and then flip off the camera to show a brand logo. Duh.
Look. All that is to say. You can dig up all the gross and hateful quotes you want from Karl about pink or shorts or what he personally liked in fashion but it doesn't matter. Thats just not how the fashion industry works. Not a single person who actually cared about protesting him went that night. I'm certain if you asked Pedro personally "do you agree with some of the things Karl said?" he would answer, "NO! Of course I don't!" I think almost every single person who attended the Met Gala that night would say no. But no one has asked Pedro, at least not in public anyway.
So I get why people are upset he would go and now they feel they have to create a narrative about how he wasn't actually there to honor but secretly to protest and be a rebel. Guys, I mean this with love...thats silly. Thats SO silly. And it's not helpful. We have to let the rich and famous people speak for themselves and when they make mistakes or do things we don't agree with, they have to explain for themselves. We can't do it for them. A very rich fashion house bought him an obscenely expensive ticket to a special event and told him to wear a look off the runway and Pedro is FAMOUS now and he wants to keep it that way so he said "ok! sounds great!" That's it.
As far as what Pedro has said in public, he has no regrets about going to an event that honored a shitty guy and he wasn't protesting anything or anyone. Let's keep that narrative until he actually says otherwise with his own grown up, adult mouth.

modernos y exmodernos
Tumblr media

I-I have to ask. what the fuck does your queue tag mean? "IT'S DINNERTIME AND I'M A LITTLE SOUP QUEUE CHOMPA CHOMPA". I-I am so confused.
Oh anon, I have been waiting for someone to be brave enough to ask me this question. It is from this bit Jimmy Fallon had on his show with Bill Hader and Cara Delevingne where the trio sit around a campfire and tell scary stories.
All you need to know is at one point Bill Hader delivers the fabulous quote, "Oil me up, daddy. It's dinnertime and I'm a little soup boy. Chompa chompa."
It really is something that needs to be seen.
You can watch the bit here: Real Scary Stories w/ Bill Hader and Cara Delevingne

Idk all of whats going on, but i had a heart transplant as a baby and i think about my donor (who was anonymous) and their family a lot. It was a bit rude for Selena not to even mention her donor that she's friends with and knows. I know how hard it is be a transplant recipient tho and what the meds do and can do to you long term. Ive had mine for 25 yrs. There's no doubt it has effected me mentally and not just supressed my immune system (which is what its supposed to do). I think both are right and wrong in their own ways.
I'm sorry you went through that and i'm happy you found a donor, I also was disappointed with the fact that Francia was not seen in the documentary but we dont know the reason why it happened. Francia was not pissed about that though, she was pissed at Selena's comment about how Taylor was her only friend in the industry. Since Selena is mostly a singer, it's rather obvious she was talking about the music industry, not Hollywood as a whole. Selena is also friends with Cara Delevingne for example, but Cara wasnt leaving shady comments on ig posts for everybody to see only to delete them like a fucking coward would. These are things you handle privately if you really care about your friend, which she (Francia) must because she literally gave her her kidney. But when you leave a shady comment ("interesting") on a gossip ig account for everybody to see then proceed to unfollow your "friend" that you went through hell and back with, under a quote you clearly misunderstood cause again Selena was talking about the music industry (and Francia is no singer) at this point you just want to start shit for clout and headlines. Which is in my opinion such an insult for what they both went through. Francia is old enough to pick up the phone and clear things out with Selena herself if she reads a quote from her she was offended by. We're talking about 30 something year old women, not teenagers. This was my point.

My favorite Cara Delevingne quotes on love, sex and sexuality:
“I’m still a hopeless romantic. When I say that I just believe in love so much. I think love will save the world and I think that love has the power to save all of us. I love love I guess in a way.” [news.com.au]
"I know 13- and 15-year-old girls who are like, 'I don’t know if I like a boy or a girl yet. I haven’t decided.' And it’s like -- [imagine] if I was able to comprehend [that at their age]. I am very happy how sexuality has become easier and freer to talk about, especially for kids," [abcnews.go.com]
“It’s not just girls, but also boys growing up struggle with being labelled. They also feel that they have to be someone they’re not. They should know that to begin to understand yourself you need to completely demolish labels. I don’t think anyone has to be (something they’re not) and no one has to explain themselves. It’s an old-fashioned way of thinking and people have been stuck in that [mindset] for such a long time. Now even more.” [news.com.au]
“My sexuality is not a phase. I am who I am.” [allure.com]
“Laughter in during sex is so important. Part of sex — that connection — it’s feral. You meet someone, but when you go in the bedroom, it’s another animal. To me that is so interesting, because there are people who are supersexy and you flirt with them, but then you have sex with them and they’re terrible,”
“As a person, generally, I’m really good at giving love and not receiving it and I’m kind of the same in bed as well... There’s a part of it where I find it quite difficult to receive pleasure or love. So I just kind of like to give.”
“I’m always very submissive with men, and with women I’m the opposite,” [advocate.com]

When you have balance in your life, work becomes an entirely different experience. There is a passion that moves you to a whole new level of fulfillment and gratitude, and that's when you can do your best... for yourself and for others.
