I've been brainstorming some ideas for this odd pokéfamily over the past few days.. unfortunately all my angsty ideas don't have a strong enough structure yet, so just wholesome stuff for now! XD
For this post, I kind'a wanted to establish the dynamics between the adults and each others kids. Emboar is a tired mama that has four rambunctious boys who are always getting into trouble and bouncing off the walls. Conkeldurr absolutely adores them, and he treats them as if they were his own. He loves to roughhouse with them and get into all kinds of trouble with them XD
Meanwhile Conkeldurr is a new father that has a skittish little daughter. She's shy, and very quiet.. its hard to tell if that's how her species naturally is, or if something happened to her that made her so meek.. Either way, Emboar was confused by her first. But she quickly fell in love with this little fox.. As far as she's concerned? She is a mama of 5 babies.💗

Today was my last day of work at the library, so I went full Chaos Goblin, photoshopped a Goncharov DVD cover with the poster, screenshots from posts in the tag, part of the Polygon article, and some vague plot insinuations, and I left it on the shelf for whoever to find. Only one coworker knows what I did, and we're friends, so she's all for it.
For bonus points, I photoshopped the spine to look like it had a library spine label on it. Let the games begin.

shapeshifting is something that a basilisk will nearly always seek to do in solitude.
an act which temporarily blinds and numbs the creature from the surrounding world - they will be left completely vulnerable to it. defenseless. frozen inside the shell of their old form as organs and cells rearrange.
to shapeshift in front of someone is, therefore, the ultimate show of trust that a basilisk can perform.

question: do ppl ACTUALLY say things they don’t mean when they’re angry? or is that just an excuse after letting something true slip? i wouldn’t ever say something i don’t mean in anger, so the concept confuses me.
but something was said to me that is bothering me, though apparently was said in an argument and wasn’t meant. but i don’t rlly believe it wasn’t like, deep down true thoughts/feelings??? anyone have any insight? anyone say things they don’t mean in anger?
EDIT: this was a hastily worded post that i didn’t expect to get notes. this is a genuine question asked in good faith that i got a lot of amazing answers to!
also re: the many ppl saying “OP is lying about not saying things they don’t mean in anger because everyone does it”— i genuinely have never done that. if i say something mean while angry, i meant it. that’s literally why i asked this question and why the concept confuses me, because i wouldn’t do something like that so i wanted perspective from people who do it. idk why y’all can’t believe that lmao not everyone is as prone to anger and outbursts

Where do people get this misconception that every single wildlife case at a vet clinic is euthanased so it's better to not take them in even if they're obviously hurt or sick and in need of treatment?!?!
Friendly reminder that a member of the public should not be able to easily pick up or catch a wild animal. We are not in a disney movie. If you can pick it up*, 80% of the time its extremely hurt or sick.
Wildlife, and most animals for that matter, do not show pain as humans do. That does not mean they are not in pain and suffering.
Veterinarians only euthanase wild animals that are suffering from extreme injury or illness, or animals that would stress themselves to death in a hospital setting that cannot be released and survive in the wild with their issue.
We do euthanase some animals, but that's because it's the best welfare decision for that animal and its specific problem.
Maybe trust the professionals trained in providing treatment to animals instead of some Karen on Facebook who demonises vets because she can't understand a bird with multiple wing and shoulder fractures is very unlikely to regain flight and return to the wild and her plan of keeping it means it will live a life of chronic pain and suffering.
*Disclaimer: If you live in a country where diseases such as rabies are endemic, you should not handle wildlife at all if you are not trained or vaccinated. This post is not recommending members of the public handle wildlife in any country.
