When will you learn that your actions have consequences
A few days after escaping from Sabos father Ace went to the Grey Terminal alone on a reconnaissance mission since the others were far more recognizable. Luffy, still freshly scared of losing one of his brothers followed him and Sabo, who was on Luffy duty, went after him. Unfortunately this was the day the Grey Terminal was set to be burned. While searching for his brothers Sabo overheard the Bluejam pirates talking about how the nobles hired them to do this and was distracted enough to get injured. Ace found his brothers in the fire and was able to hold off the pirates long enough to escape.
After this incident however they realized they had to be far more discreet if they wanted to survive and spent almost all their time on the mountain, never going into the city. Their strategy worked and led the people after them to believe they had died. Ironically the governments efforts to cover up the Nika fruit worked too well as the few who had seen Nika didn't realize it was important enough to describe in detail and Garp was able to squash any information that did get leaked.

Outline for modern genderbend svsss au where they're all trans milfs (except for Binghe who is trans still but not a milf) cinematic universe:
[Act 1] Shen Yuan was on his path to a teaching degree at age 22~23 and began shadowing high school tenured teacher Shen Jiu (no relation, they just have the same last name and hate it) where he changes a young Binghe's life by protecting him from bullying and just generally being a better teacher than sj. Right before Binghe's last year of school, sy's health takes a sudden decline, he's hospitalized, and he has to postpone his degree. Through a miscommunication, Binghe believes that sy was fired for having too much contact w Binghe and is now somewhere else- devastated, he enrolls at the prestigious, yet secretly abusive, uni that sy had pushed him to apply to, with the goal of becoming successful enough to pull strings and give sy whatever he wants
[Act 2] While hospitalized, Shen Yuan staves off boredom by being terminally online. Through this, he meets and quickly becomes unlikely friends with 40 something year old mid tier author Shang Qinghua. Sqh offers sy an admittedly unglamorous job as her editor since he's pretty much given up on his degree at this point, as well as a place to stay away from his family when he gets out of the hospital. Sy accepts and after moving in, gets to know sqh, who is a trans woman who transitioned in her 30s when her first big book deal put her in a stable enough position to do so. Sy realizes she is also trans; the two gradually make sqh's newest work a bestseller and she's suddenly inundated with publishing and movie deals. Happy times. Meanwhile, Binghe becomes a demon (frat boy)
[Act 3] Sy hits 30, now comfortable in her cushy job as sqh's editor/agent. Unfortunately, she is tragically diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after her birthday. She undergoes a double mastectomy and luckily fully recovers with a strong support network, but the stress has taken its toll on her and her health and she begins going grey early. Binghe, now also a girl yippee, received unexpected inheritance money sometimes during uni and used it to become a highly successful businesswoman with connections throughout the education, political, and publishing spheres (because she remembers shen yuan was a big reader and wanted to be a lit professor). Now on the hunt for her old teacher, she's tipped off to her new life by business partner gilf-fucker Mobei Jun (38) who recently started seducing sqh
misc: in her 20s sqh made some quick cash by donating sperm, so biologically she is actually probably a grandma at this point

I like the idea that Ace has always had a sort of affiliation or connection to fire well before he got his fruit. He’s seen all sides of fire and all the ways it can be harnessed. From a young age under the bandits care he would watch fire cook his foods. Then when it came to surviving on his own, a fire was probably one of the first things Garp taught Ace and was the first step to his premature independence. Then there were the bond fires shared with his brothers. Shadow puppets shows, bickering fights and laughter so big it made his stomach ache
The grey terminal fires that threatened his and his younger brothers lives. The fires he helped create that almost took the lives of hundreds, that left his and his mother figures skin scarred. The fire that claimed his brother’s boat and killed him just as he set out to sea. He had seen all sides to fire and what it was capable of.
So when Ace ate the flame flame fruit. There was an immediate understanding of the danger his flames held. His flames would not be the same as the ones that ravaged the terminal. His flames would be controlled and protective like the candle light Sabo used to read to Luffy. Like the flames of a bond fire providing warmth and safety. His flames would always protect those he wished to. The spade pirates. Whitebeard. Luffy. He would protect them like a bondfire

Role reversal AU where Sabo thinks both of his brothers are dead (died in the Grey Terminal fire) (his parents told him they died in an attempt to break him into obedience). Sabo is furious, obviously, but definitely not broken, so he sets sail – a few days later than in canon, just enough to avoid the Celestial Dragon – while Ace and Luffy keep their promise and don’t sail out until seventeen.
(Alternatively, Sabo gets yoinked by Dragon immediately after their first meeting in High Town – because I think he deserves to keep being a revolutionary, and Dragon is no stranger to picking up strays – but in either case, he keeps his memories, and he thinks his brothers are dead.)
Cue him having an emotional breakdown the first time he sees Ace’s wanted poster.

hi, i saw that you’re accepting requests and i’d really think you’d be the best to write this if you can. so i’ve been watching a lot of greys anatomy lately and i’m always thinking of harry as a patient. so could you do like a greys anatomy resident reader x harry ou blurb where harry is famous and all that just his normal self and reader is a resident at seattle grace hospital. so maybe reader and harry are secretly dating or engaged and when harry gets hit in the eye with the skittles he goes to the hospital to get checked out and reader takes care of him extra carefully and dotes on him and maybe meredith and christina and lexie see them and start to put the pieces together and all of that? idk if this made any sense whatsoever but if it did i really hope you can write something abt it 🥰 (also sorry this was so long lol) also, could you use the season 5 greys cast but have it be set in 2022? ahhh sorry if it sounds stupid and confusing 🤣

“It’s her face. No, look at it. Right there, it’s doing that weird, red, splotchy thing—”
“She doesn’t have hives, Cristina, just give her the water bottle and she’ll be fine—”
“No, I’ve seen this before, this is bad. This is really, really bad.” Cristina extends her hand to grasp onto the bottom of your jaw and tilt your head up for examination. “Are you having trouble swallowing?”
You swallow. “Uh…no, but…Cristina, I’m fine, I just...I was just...I wasn't even—”
“Mhm. Incoherent thoughts, got it,” Christiana replies, nodding as she glances down at her chart. “What about your heart? Does it feel like it’s racing? Can you breathe? Do you feel flushed? Nauseated? Dizzy?”
“Cristina,” Meredith laughs, attempting to wrangle the woman away from you. “You’re scaring her.”
“Good. She should be scared. What we’re dealing with is terminal,” Cristina retorts, and your eyes widen.
“I…I feel fine,” you try again, but Cristina’s inquisitive and invasive stare immediately returns to you, drilling right through your pupil.
“Tell me…have you ever heard of Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire Syndrome?” she asks, in absolute all seriousness.
Meredith rolls her eyes while you blink.
“Uh…what?”
Cristina studies you carefully for a moment before nodding her chin at something just over your shoulder. “It’s quite deadly if not treated…immediately.”
“Cristina, what the hell are you talking about?” Meredith sighs, now moving to stand beside you.
“See, I thought I saw her exhibit some symptoms when we first wheeled him in,” Cristina begins to explain. “But I chalked it up to the side effects of celebrity sightings. The green eyes, the curly hair, the tattoos. You know, if you like that sort of thing.”
Shit. You swallow again.
“But then, her face started doing the same thing that it’s doing now,” she continues on, and you stumble over a shaky breath as Meredith turns to look at you. “So, I thought I’d keep her under observation…just to make sure she wasn't gonna keel over and die...and after a few tests, you wouldn’t believe what I discovered.”
Shit, shit, shit. She saw.
Meredith looks between you and Cristina now, desperate to be clued in. “Well?”
Cristina raises a brow at you, indicating the answer is yours to divulge.
But you can’t.
You promised.
“I…I was just trying to be nice to him,” you answer, the excuse burning its way out of your throat. “I thought he was probably…you know, nervous. Maybe a little overwhelmed—”
“Yeah, see, lying is also one of the symptoms of the disease,” Cristina interrupts. “Mhm, we lose millions of people a year to it.”
Torn between doubling down and just giving up, you look between them.
Then…you groan.
“Okay,” you huff as Cristina crosses her arms. “Fine. All right? You win. I’m fucking him. Happy?”
Meredith’s eyebrows just about fly up her forehead as she slips her hands into her coat pockets. “Oh.”
“Wow, look at that, you’re cured,” Cristina muses, tucking the chart under her arm. “Although, I can’t say the same for the raging case of stupidity.”
“Cristina,” Meredith scolds, but you simply shake your head with defeat.
“No, she’s right. I know better,” you concede, running a hand down the side of your face. “I just…when you said he was being brought in, I got worried something bad had happened, and I freaked out…and, I don’t know. I think I was just relieved to know he was okay.”
Cristina blinks. “Ew.”
With a smirk, Meredith shakes her head. “I think it’s cute.”
Cristina looks at her. “Ew.”
“Look, I promise it won’t happen again,” you finish as you meet Cristina’s eye, desperate to put this embarrassing afternoon behind you.
“Well, I would hope not,” Chrstina snorts. “Bailey would have an aneurysm, and then I would be stuck working with McDreamy all by myself, which is absolutely not happening—”
Suddenly, Meredith puts a hand on her friend's shoulder and begins to encourage her to step back. “You know, actually…Cristina and I have a few things we need to go do. All of a sudden, right now. So...would you mind going ahead and discharging the patient for us?”
Cristina looks at her, confused and unimpressed. “I’m sorry, what?”
In turn, Meredith shoots her an incredibly pointed look. “Yeah, you know…we’ve gotta do that thing.”
“What thing?”
“The thing—”
Cristina scoffs. “We don’t have a thing—”
“Yes, we do," Meredith insists. "The thing…with Alex…and the thing—”
“Okay, I’m sorry, did you hit your head? Or something? Because we don’t have a thing with Evil Spawn. Why on Earth would we have a thing with Evil Spawn? We never have things with Evil Spawn, that’s…I don’t even wanna imagine having a thing with Evil Spawn—”
“Cristina,” Meredith hisses until Cristina stops and looks at her.
“Oh.” She blinks, seeming to come to some sort of realization before she turns to you. “So...we have a thing. With Evil Spawn.”
Finally catching on to their attempt at discretion, you smile. “Right, okay. Well…good luck with your thing.”
“Yeah, thanks. Hey—” Cristina adds, just before Meredith can drag her down the hall. “No funny business. Okay? I don’t wanna come back and see something that’s gonna give me nightmares. Or a migraine. Or both.”
Flushing yet again, you nod quickly. “No, I wasn’t…we aren’t…that’s not—”
“Cristina,” Meredith tries for a third time with a defeated exhale. “Let’s go.”
“Fine. Fine.” Cristina steps back but not before offering you one last look of warning. “Seriously. I mean it, Junior.”
Your nose scrunches at the less than affectionate nickname before Meredith finally succeeds in dragging Cristina down the hall and out of sight. But you don’t miss Cristina’s comments that echo between the walls as they go. “God, it’s just gross. We were never like that. No, we were not. I mean, I don’t see the appeal. Does he sing when he comes? Is that, like…a thing? God, poor Lexipedia. She’s gonna be crushed—”
Despite yourself, you smile and exhale a relieved breath before turning on your heel to make your way for Harry’s room.
“—I loved it, I thought it was really sweet,” Lexie is saying as you walk through the door, smiling giddily at the man on the bed. “I mean, I’m…I’ve been keeping up with your tour. Not like…keeping up. Like, not in a creepy way or anything. I just…I saw. The posts. And…the stuff. You posted. And TikTok. The outfits and everything. Which I loved. And the album. I love the album. I tried showing it to my friend Mark. Well, he’s…I mean, he’s one of the doctors here. Mark Sloan? I don’t know if you…met him. He’s…yeah, he’s my friend. We’re friends. Just…just friends. Which is fine. I’m fine with it—”
You watch as Harry nods along with every unnecessary bit of information to spill from her mouth, grinning to yourself at his strained attempt to appear interested.
Which, to be fair, he probably is.
“—and he liked it, I think. He’s not really…you know, he doesn’t really get excited about a lot of things, but I think he liked it,” she says, sighing some before she seems to notice you out of her peripheral. “Oh! Hi. Sorry, I was just…I wanted to check in. See if he needed anything.”
“She’s been very sweet,” Harry adds, nodding his thanks to the excited woman now scrambling to her feet as she heads for the door. “I really appreciate it, Dr. Grey, thank you.”
“Oh, no problem. No problem…at all,” she beams, eyes falling down to the floor as if to hide the giddy expression on her face. “Yeah, so I’ll just…yeah. I’ll go. So nice to meet you, Mr. Styles. Sir. Mr…yeah. Okay. Bye.”
She forces herself from the room, quickly spinning around to race down the hall as you swallow a laugh and finally return your attention to the man in question.
He sits, perched on the edge of the small bed, a rather triumphant grin on his face.
Doing your best to remain professional, you pull a small light from your coat pocket and step up to him. “Okay, let’s see the damage.”
His lips press into a smug smile as you tilt his head back and dip down to examine his eye. You flick the flashlight back and forth across his pupil, searching for any signs of scratching or trauma as he waits patiently beneath you.
“Looks good,” you muse quietly. “Does it hurt?”
He runs his tongue over his bottom lip. “No.”
“What is it you said hit you?”
The smirk deepens. “Uh…some sort of candy, I think. Maybe a Skittle?”
Surprised, you lean back, hand dropping to your side. “I—what? Who the fuck was throwing Skittle’s at you?”
He shrugs once, rather nonchalant about the whole affair. “They just get a little excited, I guess. Maybe they thought I needed a snack.”
You snort as you pocket the light. “You really need to start setting some ground rules if you’re gonna let people stand that close to you. Okay, this really could have done more permanent damage. You’re really lucky it seems to have only hit your eyelid, but if it had been any closer—”
Suddenly, his fingers are slipping around the backs of your thighs to sneak you closer to him, easily and effortlessly settling you between his legs as you swallow a gasp.
He gazes up at you adoringly, thumbs rubbing circles over your scrubs as you swallow. “What are you doing?”
“Just…trying to get better,” he responds, lashes batting innocently. “Is there a problem? Doctor?”
Your lids narrow. “Okay, very funny. You can let go now.”
“Yeah…no.”
“Harry—”
“What?”
You chew on the inside of your cheek and anxiously glance over your shoulder to make sure the coast is clear. “We had a deal—”
“Right, and we still do,” he agrees. “I’m just looking at you. S’not breaking any rules, is it?”
You huff yet again. “Patients don’t normally hold their doctor’s like this. Except the old, creepy, pervy ones.”
He exhales a laugh. “Fine. Do you want me to let go?”
No. God, no. Never. “Yes, before Bailey shows up, and fires me.”
He studies you for a moment before obliging and bringing his hands back to his own lap. “So…am I all good to go?”
Swallowing the disappointment creeping up the back of your throat, you nod once. “Yeah, everything looks good. Maybe wear some sunglasses next time you’re on stage, though.”
He nods as well. “Great, so…I’ll go, then.”
“Mhm.”
He stands as you step back to make room.
The room grows silent. Eerily silent as a hundred missed opportunities pass between you.
Then, he reaches for his jacket. “Thank you for everything, Doc.”
Why the fuck does this feel so wrong, you can’t help but ask yourself. “Yeah, no problem.”
You don’t want him to be upset at you. But there’s a reason you made this arrangement. A reason you decided to keep your relationship to sex only. No feelings, no getting personal, no obligations.
But even despite all of that…you still felt your heart ache when you saw his name on the board. When you’d heard the passing comment that Harry Styles was being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Your mind had run rampant with the worst possible explanations, and you’d had to slip into the bathroom to collect yourself before you burst into tears.
Today, it’s a Skittle to the eye.
But what if tomorrow…
He makes his way for the door as you look down at your sneakers, expression weaving into a grimace at everything you wish you could do and say to make this better.
You can’t ask him to stay. Can’t tell him how you really feel. Can’t give in to what he wants, especially not here.
All you can do…is let him go.
You hear him stop.
And your heart stops with him.
“So…I’ll see you tonight, right?” he calls, and you feel your chest tighten.
Tonight. You turn around. “Of course, why wouldn’t you?”
He leans against the doorframe, smiling some at your response. “Attagirl. Same time?”
“Sure.”
“Good.” He steps back. “Cause I have a feeling I’m not gonna be feeling so well.”
You fight a grin. “Oh, is that right?”
“Yeah, I’m…gosh, I’m just already feeling a little woozy,” he says, pretending to stumble back into the hall. “And…my mouth has gone dry, and my hands just feel…antsy.”
He’s terrible at this. Absolutely awful, and you snort as you watch him retreat backward. “Uh-huh.”
“So, I just…I’m really glad you do house calls,” he continues slyly. “Cause I’m really gonna need your expertise and care.”
You wave him off. “Okay, goodbye. Go away now.”
He chuckles as you continue shooing him toward the lobby. “So…you’ll be there, right?”
“Yes, Harry. I will be there.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
He comes to a screeching halt, nearly forcing you to crash into his chest as he thrusts his pinky into the air between you. “Swear it.”
You eye his hand closely, heart leaping into your throat. You will not fall in love with this man. You absolutely will not do it. You won’t.
You intertwine your finger with his. “Swear.”
He beams proudly. “Good. I’ll see you tonight, Doc.”
You can say nothing as he turns around and heads down the hall, rounding the corner before disappearing from sight.
But you stand there. Hopelessly and so unbelievably fucked as the realization begins to settle atop your chest like an anvil.
Despite your best efforts, and your self control, and your desperate attempts at keeping it from happening...
You are in love with Harry fucking Styles.
And Cristina is gonna kill you.

When the asl trio is a bit older, and they come back to visit Foosha and Dadan, what sort of things will they get into?
Oh here’s the thing. They aren’t coming back to Foosha until Ace’s 17 birthday. (His is in January and Sabo’s is in March, and while the act like twins Ace definitely pulls that fact out to win arguments)
I think ASL still wants to set out on their own at 17. And Ace decides to starts from Foosha. They want to build up a crew before taking on the grandline. A good strategy and a stipulation put in by Shanks. (He doesn’t want to let his boys go but if he has to they can start in the weakest sea, Buggy’s home base is there if they get into trouble. (I haven’t decided how to make Shanks and Buggy reunite))
But Ace decides to start there so they travel back before his birthday so he can set out on his actual birthday. They get their early to visit and have family time. The spend time with Makino and Dadan (she’ll appear in the main story soon.) but that’s the only time the visit until Luffy sets out. He wants to start from the same place Ace did. (They got to pick up Deuce, Zoro, Nami, and Sanji some how) (not Usopp wasn’t mentioned. We will get to him)
They leave a den den with Dadan so they grow up calling her and Makino but I don’t think they’ll have time to visit / it would be safe to visit.
Believe me I’ve got ideas. I’m getting to Thriller Bark right now in the anime so once I know more about Sabo and his life I’ll make some decisions. I like him being a revolutionary still but I need to make decisions. Obviously with the Bluejam pirates dead the grey terminal fire doesn’t happen as normal but the celestial dragons are still coming. So I have to decide how the rest of the events play out. I have some plans but I’m still deciding on other things.
But for the most part once we leave Dawn the boys are staying in the grandline until they are ready to set out.
Thanks for the ask.

Trafalgar!Sanji + ASL+S childhood friends (Acesan Childhood Friends to Lovers trope)...
Sanji goes with Baratie at Foosha and meets this chaotic trio of brothers, quickly befriending them. They are his first friends (since Law is his big brother) and even if he adores them, Sanji still never tells anything about his past or the scars he has.
And the blond goes to Foosha every couple of months, so he's not in the island when everything with Sabo happens, he just discovers about this the day the Baratie docks on the village again and he sees his friend with a scar on the face. And after knowing he almost lose his friend, it's like something tells him he shouldn't keep this, because he don't know if he will have them forever.
Sanji still don't tells his brother's name, because Law's "death" was still pretty recently but he still talk about him. The trio likes to hear about he saying moments he had with his brother (mostly Ace and Luffy, because they almost lost their brother).
So live goes on, Ace and Sanji start to date some time before Ace set sail, then Sabo also set sail and after 3 years Luffy do it. But the rubber boy finds Baratie and he goes with him in Luffy's adventure so Sanji can find the All Blue.
Everything we know happens, until Marineford where Sanji go to help to save his boyfriend because he knows how being punished/haunted by your family line is horrible. And they save Ace and Whitebeard.
So, the timeskip happens, and then Punk Hazard also happens and Ace is there (because he asks pops if he can stay with the StrawHats for some time since, y'know, he wants to be with Luffy and Sanji), but he notices his boyfriend is very close with the Trafalgar, that he is always with him and things like that.
Ace end up becoming a little jealous, bc Sanji never telled his big brother name so no one can make the connection. Until one night Ace asks Sanji about it and then the blond notices he never said Law's name to the ASL brothers. So y'know, he explains everything and the next morning Sanji talks with Ace and Law together, where the siblings tell the Portgas about everything they had gone through from both their points of view.
And after, Law decides to gave Ace a "little" shovel talk, since y'know, big brother worried about his young brother (Ace completely understands bc he IS a big sibling himself but still, being threatened by the Surgeon of Death is scary)
Love this, ASL+Trafalgar!S. A horrific set of people you never want to meet as a marine. Also yeah, we have to push the times back a teensy bit for most things but Sanji being twelve when he meets and befriends them shortly after Baratie opens and starts hanging out with them. He doesn't say where he's from or anything about any of his family. His scars hidden by the clothes he wears and the front he puts up.
Eventually he starts considering them closer than friends but he doesn't want to put a name to it. Not after everything he's been through. When Sanji comes back after the Grey Terminal Fires and finds out Sabo will be leaving soon with the Revolutionary Army. So Sanji breaks down and tells them he lost his brother in the North Blue with some friends(Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin) and he's scared to lose others. Sanji starts talking more about his brother, his spots on his skin.
When Sanji and Ace start dating Sanji comes ashore one day basically bouncing because Sabo's there but also his brother is alive and he got to talk to him!! Turns out they thought each other were dead, but they figured out they're not dead because of the paper. ASL still do not ask for the brother's name. Then Ace sets sail, and then a couple years later Luffy does and takes Sanji with him.
Sanji just barely making it to Marineford after Luffy and the Impel Down team make it out and the war is already raging. Sanji helping however he can and shocking a lot of people with his fire legs. They save Ace and White Beard and Sanji gets a good look at Teach as they leave. He gets a good look at Law too who is taking his captain to treat him after the punch from Akainu got him and Jinbei. Marco has Ace and White Beard. Sanji thanks them both and leaves for Kamabakka to train. He saved them. That's what matters.
After the TS Ace says Pops is retiring and Marco gave him permission to travel with the Straw hats. Luffy and Sanji are happy to be spending time with Ace and Luffy even has Franky fix up the Captain's quarters so that Ace and Sanji can have privacy. When they pick up Law in Punk Hazard Sanji is suddenly spending a lot of time with the warlord who saved Luffy. Law is allowed in the kitchen when Ace and Luffy aren't, they speak in a language no one else speaks, Robin keeps sending them looks Ace really doesn't like. So he asks Sanji about it when they're alone on deck one night headed to Dressrosa.
"Oh, shit. I never told you my brother's name." Sanji says with a sudden realization.
"Huh? What does your brother have to do with any of this?" Ace asks.
"My brother is Law. The shitty surgeon on the ship with us." Sanji replies.
"Oh." Ace says with wide eyes. "Oh shit, does he know we're dating?"
"I don't know." Sanji groans. "Oh shit, the bastard's gonna kill me."
"I think he's more likely to kill me than you." Ace deadpans and pulls the cook close who keeps mumbling apologies and leans into him. The next morning Ace is allowed in the kitchen for coffee with Law and Sanji even though it's ungodly early and no one should be awake. Law is somehow reading medical jargon at the table which is wild to Ace.
"So we need to have a talk." Sanji says.
"I figured that's why Fire Fist was in the galley. What about?" Law asks as marks his book and closes the book.
"He just found out you're my brother." Sanji answers sheepishly and Law takes off his hat, runs his hand into hair and groans.
"Does anyone else not know?" Law asks in dismay.
"Robin knows, Luffy might?" Sanji questions and then sees the look Law is giving him. "I didn't ask you to send a hundred marine hearts to Navy HQ! This is your dumb revenge plan!"
"Yeah, and when I get your birth family's name they're next!" Law orders.
"Wait, even he doesn't know that? How did you two even meet?" Ace asks in a confused and whiny tone. Sanji laughs and gets breakfast in the oven and brings the coffee set up to the table. Law and Sanji explain almost everything, how Law found Sanji but doesn't mention the helmet, Bepo joining and Shachi and Penguin shortly after. The storm that separated them and then the rock and Zeff. The phone calls between them until he joined Luffy's crew. They go back and forth, trading their sides of the story and Law thinking Sanji died again on Sabaody when the crew got separated after Kuma and Sanji rubs his neck and apologizes to the eldest.
Later Ace and Law are alone for some reason on deck, everyone else is doing something and Law isn't in the galley for some reason. Ace looks at him with confusion as Law leans over the railing next to him. Law pulls a heart out of his pocket and Ace's eyes widen as he watches it beat.
"It's just my heart, calm down." Law tells him. "One of the first things I learned with my fruit, I don't do a lot of killing since I'm a doctor. The marines' hearts are all just fine at their head quarters."
"That really calms me down." Ace deadpans and Law laughs lightly.
"I just wanted to talk to you, about Sanji." Law says.
"I get it, Akainu is at the top of my list for what he did to Luffy, you'll kill me, I got it." Ace replies.
"Once again, doctor, I don't do a lot of murdering," Law points out, "I'm not a kind doctor of course, I save those who would die by any other doctor and I'm not kind. I will do anything to protect Sanji, no matter who gets in my way. So if you can't or won't, I'll sink the worst generation and more to get to him." Law says as puts his heart back in his pocket and stands straight. "But you understand that."
"All too well, are you going to put that back?" Ace asks.
"Nah, this one is going into hiding. I have a different one." Law smirks and taps his chest.
"What the fuck does that mean?" Ace asks as Law walks away and laughs. "What the fuck does that mean, Trafalgar!?"

ROGER'S SON, FIRE FIST ACE, DEAD AT MARINEFORD
This is it. I failed. Two out of three thoughts circled in Y/N's head. Day in and day out. Sun up to sun down. The third, well, the third, was on a loop all its own. A sensation not unlike an iron brand or an ice pick to the chest every time she heard those words inside her head.
Guard him with your life.
That's what Dragon had told her. Her, her mother, her father - her parent's final mission when they set off all those years ago. 'I've hidden something precious on that island. Your mission is to Guard it with your life.' At first, she thought it was just Luffy she was meant to protect. They had docked at Fuschia Village and moved in right next to a little barkeep and one Monkey D. Luffy, and she assumed that was the end of that. Just keep that little twerp out of trouble as best she could, and her mission would be complete.
Then those blasted pirates came to town and threw a wrench in their plans. She should've known those pirates were a goddamned trouble magnet. Bringing mountain bandits down on their heads. Convincing Luffy to stab himself in the face...and that stupid straw hat. After that, things only ever got worse. Luffy was dragged into the mountains by his grandfather, so of course, Y/N chased after him. But then - for reasons unfathomable to her - Luffy started chasing after Ace. The idiot was constantly risking his life for the sake of some stranger who literally put the two of them through Hell.
Of course, that boy would turn out to be the son of a Demon.
Portgas D Ace, the lost son and only descendant of the legendary Gold Roger. A boy she hadn't put any stock in at first. A feral child she assumed to be some spawn that loud-mouthed bandit lady didn't want. At first, the truth sent Y/N reeling.
Wait, is this what Dragon really meant? She thought. Something Precious. Guard it with your Life.
Suddenly, not was she in the presence of the son of Dragon, but also the son of Roger -- two of the most wanted legacies in all the world. Two lives the World Government would love to snuff out for good. Guard it with your life. Guard it with your life. The words kept cycling, skipping, repeating in her head over and over again. So that's what she did.
Sworn to secrecy, Y/N dedicated herself to ensuring that Luffy and Ace survived to reach their majority. Saving Luffy's sorry butt from those blasted Blue Jam Pirates. Bailing that hot-tempered Ace out of fights he couldn't win. Teaching both boys how to sneak behind grownups undetected. To pick their pockets. To play to their sympathies and get what ya want from them. Garp and the bandits called them all reckless hoodlums. But the only hoodlum who had ever reached back and saved her skin - was Sabo.
He knew the lay of the land better than almost anyone. Could navigate both Grey Terminal and the Inner City even with his eyes closed. And if Ace wouldn't listen to her in a fight (which was often), he would listen to Sabo. And that was good enough for her. He was kinder to Luffy than either Ace or Y/N had the patience for, trying his best to train the boy in his devil fruit even with no powers of his own.
Powerless. She remembered that day. The day that golden boy in blue turned himself into - no, for us. Y/N bit her cheek. He left to save us.
She remembered the night when the fire started. Everything happened at once till all that came to mind was a rush of sensations. The smell of burning flesh. The ring of dying screams. The stampede of footsteps, desperate to escape.
'Luffy! Ace!'
Howling and screaming for her parents in the wreckage, when she couldn't see a thing.
'Mama! Papa!'
Lost in the maze of melting metal and tongues of flame. Guard them with your life. Guard them with your life. The words on repeat and repeat and repeat - and then he appeared. The source of that never-ending mantra.
Monkey D. Dragon himself.
Y/N reported the situation, just as she'd been trained. It didn't matter that she was straining for breath. The tears blurring her vision didn't matter. Coarse hands smeared the saltwater and grime from her cheeks.
'Head to the ship,' His deep voice instructed. 'I will take it from here.'
Y/N did as she was told. Upon Dragon's ship, her fellow Revolutionaries were awaiting her. All senior agents and officers. She spent all night in the crow's nest of that ship, watching the black plumes of smoke rise into the night. Eyes eagerly searched the dancing firelight for any silhouette she might recognize.
'Luffy, Ace, Mama, Papa - where are you?'
Surely Dragon would find them. Surely Dragon would take them home. Goa was no longer safe if it ever was. Surely Ace and Luffy could be better protected on Baltigo. Surely she and her family could take a break from active duty. Then finally, she could be honest with her friends.
Her parents never came home.
She never saw her friends again.
Upon the first light of morning, the only thing she saw was the smouldering wastes of Grey Terminal. -What was left of it, anyway. The Revolutionaries set to caring for those who escaped the wreckage. The refugees who now, more so than ever, had truly lost everything. All that day, Y/N's fellow agents looked after the wounded, offering them food and drink, even a place among their ranks. All the while, Y/N kept her eyes fixed on what remained of her family's hunting grounds. The jungle was thankfully untouched. The Upper City almost disgustingly so. But she saw no movement amidst the smoke and metal. No familiar silhouettes. No one.
The only things of note were the sounds of cheering and the blasting of a canon. Some sort of fanfare or festival must've been going on on the other side of the city. The sky scraping sprawl of the Nobles' estates kept Y/N from getting a clear view of its source. The Celestial Dragons must've been approaching the southerly port, she thought. She wouldn't have known that if Sabo hadn't drawn a map for her all those months ago.
Sabo... Her chest ached at the thought. She imagined the boy trapped behind a window in one of those pristine white buildings. His whole life was condemned to stay behind layers upon layers of cold stone walls. If Ace and Luffy died in that fire, their brother would never be free.
And what about me? The thought occurred to her as a chill down her spine. What force for good would she be if she knew he was trapped there and did nothing? What kind of friend would she be if she left them all behind? Yet again, Dragon's commission reverberated in her mind. Guard them with your life. Guard them with your life. --but how?!
Sunlight was already being swallowed by the sea by the time Dragon returned. Y/N could see the black of his cloak wandering between piles of smouldering rubble. But beyond her target's line of sight, something else caught her eye. Out there, floating in on the tide, was a familiar stove pipe hat. The glint of those oversized goggles at their brim was unmistakable.
Sabo!
Without a thought, Y/N leapt from the crows' nest and dove headfirst into that tepid water. The impact stole the breath from her lungs. But she didn't have time to stop. Arms and legs pressed her onwards, chest burning. Through the blur of the salt water, she could see the petite silhouette, those tailored blue clothes stained in smoke and blood.
Blood-?! Y/N paddled faster. The current pushed and pulled her side to side, tearing her off course, but she would not be deterred. Diving deeper, she perched herself on the nearest boulder on the ocean floor. She could feel the pressure of the ocean trying to pull her down. But the shadow cast by Sabo's limp body in the water spurred her on. She pushed off the rock and up towards the surface. Her arms crooked *just so* to catch Sabo under his arms and catapult them into the fresh air.
Foam and shards of wood sprayed around her. Y/N gasped for air. Every muscle burned and ached. Beyond her, a discordant choir of voices were hollering and calling out her name. She could see her leader's black cloak reach the shoreline. His strides paused upon hearing his crew's commotion.
'Dragon-sama!' she cried. 'Here! Right here!'
The Revolutionary turned. Every scrap of seafaring wind squealed in shock at what he saw.
'Help!' Y/N called out. 'He's hurt, please!'
The tides seemed rattled by the change in weather. A breaking wave shoved both Y/N and her unconscious friend forward. Out of her eye, she saw that stove pipe hat getting knocked about in the torrent. Wait-! Grabbing a nearby bar of flotsam wood, Y/N scrambled to hook the hat like a fish on a spear and fling it towards the shoreline. When the next wave hit, she transferred her limp friend's weight from her front to her back. When her feet finally touched the sand, she could race to Dragon's side and snatch Sabo's hat from him.
'We need to get a doctor, sir, right away.'
Dragon blinked. As he scanned the injured Sabo from head to toe, something shifted in his face.
'Y/N, do you know this boy?'
'Yessir,' No reason to lie to her leader. 'He and Luffy were bond brothers.' she glanced at her friend's face. Dripping in saltwater and blood. Everything within her ached. '...All he wanted was to be free.'
Her elder nodded. 'Very well. We can grant him that much.'
And that was the beginning. Or...maybe the end? Y/N never resumed her initial mission in Fuschia Village. When Dragon told her about her parent's fates in the fire, he formally dismissed her from active duty. She tried to press the issue, saying Luffy and Ace still needed her, but to that, he said:
'At least one of them has unlocked Conqueror's Haki. After this, neither should find much danger in the East Blue.'
Your job has been done for you. --He didn't say that last part, but she certainly heard it in his voice. Her mother always said, 'Spies are well versed in the art of subtext'.
Now, years later, come to find out, neither of her East Blue friends had ever been safe. From the moment Ace left Fuschia, he was dogged by an Ensign and then enslaved by a Yonko. Two Yonko, if Y/N's information network was to be believed. She found it hard once she got word that Ace was pursuing an exiled crewmate who'd turned around and murdered another in their ranks. That second Yonkou, Whitebeard - Ace wouldn't have done that if he didn't believe in the old geezer.
Then Luffy was chased to Paradise by an East Blue captain, where he proceeded to dethrone one of the Shichibukai! And several more after that! Hell, Luffy went all the way to Enies Lobby and fucking declared War on the World Government! The first time Y/N read that headline, she swore she nearly had an aneurysm. Meanwhile, Dragon was sitting at the head of the conference table fucking smirking about it. Little did she know things were only gonna get worse from there.
Ace was captured by the Marines.
Ace was sent to the deepest level of Impel Down.
Ace was revealed publicly to be the son of Gold Roger.
Ace was sentenced to be executed at Marineford.
A secret of the highest clearance has been exposed to the world - and Y/N wasn't there to keep him safe. Not like she promised. Not like she'd been tasked to do for as long as she could remember. Her orders were to 'guard them with your life'. ...And she hadn't done it.
The moment she heard the news of Ace's arrest, she raced to Dragon's office immediately. Requested reconnaissance, search and rescue, and any team fast enough to get him out of Impel Down before Luffy decided to pull a stupid and do it himself. Because he would. She knew he would. Because she still knew him, even after all these years.
Being a part of the Revolutionary Army, agents were forbidden from contacting anyone outside their trusted communications channels. Even passing on a message through her own communication network was considered a breach of conduct. Ace and Luffy probably didn't even know she was alive, or that Sabo was alive. But then again...Sabo didn't even know Ace and Luffy existed.
'Sir, if we don't act first, your son is gonna put himself in danger,' She remembered arguing with her leader. Something she never would've dared to do as a child. 'If he dies trying to break Roger's son out of Impel Down, then -'
'You are certain that will be his next course of action?'
'Of course, sir, Luffy and Ace are bond brothers. Same as he and Sabo. Luffy would drop everything to save his Naka-'
'Evidence serves to the contrary.'
'Are you kidding me?!' Dragon threw her a stern look. Y/N winced. 'A-all due respect, sir, but the whole reason Enies Lobby happened is because Luffy was looking to rescue a crewmate.'
'A crewmate who also happens to be a valuable asset,' Dragon noted. 'The last scholar of Ohara capable of reading the Poneglyphs.'
'That's not why he did it, and you know it.'
'Do I?'
You would, if you any spent time with your son. Y/N knew better than to say that retort out loud. Instead, she said: 'Sir, the first orders you ever gave me were to protect the secrets you'd hidden on Goa. Ace may no longer be a secret, but if we don't act, Luffy's cover will be blown, too.'
'Portgas D Ace has nothing to do with your orders.' Dragon said sternly. 'Your request is denied.'
'But Sir-!'
'Our mission is to free the people. Not one man,' The man's eyes were sharp as flint and harder than bedrock. 'Your request is denied, Y/N. Let. It. Go."
And he was right. Y/N hated to say it, or even to think it, if only to herself. But Dragon was right. The resources required to ensure success, either infiltrating Impel Down or foiling his transport to Marineford, would likely ruin their chances completely. If they were to fail, their forces would be wiped out. Their plans for the Reverie would be compromised. And the Revolution could not afford that...not even for the sake of her friend.
The Army's mission was to free the people. Not one man. Dragon was right. She knew. He told her to let it go, and she tried. Tried to fight other battles and go on other missions with Koala and Hack, and Sabo. -But she was off her game. Getting knocked by blades and bullets, she should've been able to dodge. Stealing more files from outposts than they'd actually need. Striking too hard and accidentally killing a few enemy soldiers. Something Hack most definitely disapproved of. Koala pinched her cheeks and tugged on her ears. Tying bandages too tight and making new bruises when Y/N scrambled for excuses. Hack even noted how he sensed her Chakras were out of balance or something.
But the worst part of it was Sabo. At team meetings, he would keep sneaking glances at her. Even when she stood on his left side, where he couldn't see, and his scar left no sign of any eyebrows furrowing in concern - she could still sense it from him. It was in the way he stood close enough to brush her shoulders in the hallway. Or the way he'd play with her fingers under the table. It had started out as a habit to help him sit still during class when they were little. But now, she knew it was a reassuring gesture. Something he did to reassure himself they were both okay. - Which meant he was picking up on the fact that she was not, in fact, okay. And that was a problem.
What she didn't expect what just how big of a problem it would grow to become.
It happened when she was going to Dragon's office, having just gussied up the courage to argue with him about this whole Ace debacle (again). She'd just bypassed Sabo and Koala in the officer's lobby, she caught hold of the whispers in the halls.
'Hey, check it out, the News Coo just arrived,'
'Eh, Hack-san, you better take a look at this,'
'Hm? New on the war, I presume.'
'Yea. It's finally over. The only reported casualties were Whitebeard, the Emporer, and -' Y/N's stomach twisted. '-Fire Fist Ace.'
Every drop of lifeblood in her body immediatley sank to the floor. Y/N's knees shook. The world spun around her. She couldn't think, could barely breathe. Y/N scrambled to clutch the nearest wall for support to keep her upright.
Ace, Ace, no- She gasped. Her eyes burned. Like she was drowning in salt water all over again. the corridor blurred around her. Only she wasn't in a hallway anymore. She was looking up from the bottom of the ocean as someone else's corpse floated above her. Corpses. Y/N clasped a hand over her mouth in an effort to contain her sobs. Ace, Luffy - oh, Luffy....
The headline staring her in the face was more than proof enough. That freckled face. That mane of tangled hair. That wicked smirk pressed ear to ear on the front page of the News Coo - that was him.
That's when she heard it.
A voice screamed - a howling cry of anguish and agony. Y/N's heart seized in her chest.
Sabo.
That's when it all went to shit.
***
Ahhh! This got way out of hand. I am so sorry, my dear but I'm afraid the epic conclusion to this swelling saga has become its own 3rd part. Please forgive my tardiness. I hope when this is all complete, you will find this story well worth the wait.
All the best,
Rose

Your comic got me thinking about fire and the sun and the symbolism and roles it plays in One Piece. Fire is so interesting in One Piece because it is always associated with rebirth, even in times of hurt it is associated with the birth of something new or turning a new chapter. Whether it be Ace’a death at the hands of Akainu (fire killing fire. The end of a chapter by the dawn of something huge), or the burning of the Grey Terminal, Marco being a Phoenix, Sabo’s burn scar.
Fire is destruction, but destruction isn’t a bad thing necessarily. Luffy being such a harbinger of chaos is proof enough of that. Fire means renewal, even when painful it will bring a new stage where new life can begin!
Tumblr media
Man, I cant make any more deep philosophical posts… y’all in the comments and my asks got me havin existential crises over 3 fictional characters i stg…
Even though flames took away ace, they were the same flames that brought back Sabo too. Its about renewal. Following in the footsteps from those in the past, but building it back up stronger than before. Forest fires happen all the time naturally. It tears down the dead trees and suffocating foliage to ash, so that new life has a chance to grow and be nourished by the now rich soil and ash.
And sure, its sad.
I dont have anything more on that, I’m not gonna stop being sad about it.

Their fruits are brothers. And theyre both fans of the asl trio.

Ok. I'm gonna share this one... Kidd and Law is Luffy's older brothers, instead of Ace and Sabo.
In this AU Ace was given to White Beard instead, and he was raised like his adopted son (so, less aggression and daddy issues, I guess). He met Luffy in Alabasta and decided to stick alongside with Straw Hats, repeating the filler episodes in dessert. They got along so well, that he shared his Vivre Card with Luffy in case if he ever needs his help. Sabo was one of Luffy's friends, when he was younger, but then he went missing after the fire at Grey Terminal, and Luffy never knew why. Then he appeared in Dressrosa attempting to gain Ace's Devil Fruit for revolutionary army, and Luffy, who wanted to make sure that his friends Fruit will be given to the right person, allowed him to have it.
Luffy in this AU was mostly alone in his first months with Dadan's clan. He was 7 years old and never had friends his age, so the best thing he came up with is to follow around a bunch of teenage thugs who play pirates.
He loves hanging out around those guys, because they were cool, and pirates, and they had a bear! And the funny hat guy's name is Penguin! And other guy wears cool glasses! And Traffy is always patches him up if he gets hurt trying to chase after them. They like a cool older brother's for him! But Traffy doesn't like when Luffy following them around. And he said that he's allowed to visit them only if he's hurt or needs his toes to be cut off. Luckily for Luffy, there's a guy who's beats him almost all the time.
Kidd is 11 years old. He's a kid who's been sold to Bluejam Pirates because his parents were poor and couldn't handle him. Luffy know he's just misses his home, that why he's always so wild and aggressive. Kidd's also love fixing and building stuff on the Grey Terminal, but last time Luffy got caught on spying him, he got beat up really bad. Many people at GT or Dadan's clan members talks about him as a little monster, who's too violent for this world. Many are afraid of him, some are angry, some are pitying him, but Luffy are actually amused by his strength. Even if Kidd causes trouble to everyone, even his crewmates, he's strong and cool. He builds cool stuff and actually pretty great at it. But perhaps he have some self-esteem issues? He often sees danger in people and their words. Just who did this to him?
Law is 15 years old. He's a pirate. And these three guys are his crew. They call themselves Heart Pirates, but currently they don't have any boat. They've had to set sail from their home to hide from the bad man and almost shipwrecked on the Dawn Island. Law never talked about this bad man, and no one, even his crew, never asked him about it either. He's a doctor. A beginner, to be right. He usually goes to GT to practice his medical skills, luckily there's a lot of wounded there. He also takes care of Luffy, because Dadan literally said "Well, he choosed you. Do whatever you want with him, just don't kill him" when he brought him to her the first time. He usually visits Dadan clan when Luffy receives pretty bad injuries and require bed rest. We all know that Luffy just can't lay in bed all day, right? Everyone is cherishing Law, because he acts like a golden child, when he stays at their place for some time: he and his crew wash the dishes, clean the house, take care of wounded and also help bring food. Dadan just ready to switch children up to this point. He and his crew also have troubles with Bluejam Pirates, mostly because Kidd have troubles with them. The battle between the Heart Pirates and Kidd's band sometimes resembles a bloody war rather than childish fight, especially when Kidd is only one standing and just can't give up no matter how hard he gets injured. HP are usually leave his little band patched up and without some of their body part as a threat (Kidd always retrieved them with fight, while the other kids were simply asking nicely or doing errands for HP as a payment).
One day they gonna become best friends and then brothers, that compete against one goal - to become King of the Pirates.
Can you imagine the scene in Shakky's Rip-off bar where she explained to them about Supernova's and especially emphasized on Law and Kidd, because they're the most dangerous out of them. And Luffy just goes "Yeah, I know, they're my big brothers!" leaving everyone shocked as hell. Two of the most dangerous guys in The Worst Generation... And they're Luffy's brothers. Why no one is surprised?

As Sun Tzu Said | Kyle Gaz Garrick x m!reader
Anonymous asked: I was choosing so hard to Pick between, Alejandro, Rudy Gaz, and Price (Soap, Ghost, and König are getting A LOTTA LOVE) for this but I'm loving the Gaz love, especially with his hubby so, I might stay with that for a bit…
Anyway…
"Show them no mercy, baby”
SAS!Male Reader X Gaz where 141 is in DEEP DEEP TROUBLE and Male Reader is like..."I ain't  having this bullshit anymore," and just becomes a fucking TANK of a being and goes APESHIT on enemies when Gaz says that to him
It just flips a goddamn switch in his head lol
Like TERMINATOR style
Also if you could kinda continue from the same Male Reader from the recent Gaz fic I requested that would be AMAZING!!!
Also, just everything everything everything you do means a A LOT as someone who LIVES for X Male Reader and again I just cannot thank you enough…
summary: if you know your enemy, and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles - something that you and Gaz know all too well, and when shit hits the fan, it becomes apparent exactly what that means.
tws: canon-typical violence, gun violence, knives, blood, death, war, swearing
(somewhat part 1) Right Man For The Job
Time had run out. The enemy had opened fire on the base, thick American accents followed by a tidal wave of bullets as the task force, Alejandro and Rodolfo, and the SAS took what cover they could; your first instinct was to grab Gaz, to push him against the nearest car, pressing his back into the tyre as you kept him down and shook your head. You could handle it. You could protect him. You told him exactly that between barking and growling orders at your men, take cover, open fire, don’t show the bastards any fucking mercy and don’t let them see any fucking weaknesses either; maybe high command would regret sending you out to your husband now, as you kept him pressed against the car tyre and furrowed your brows, hands clumsily roaming his body.
“You okay, baby? They didn’t hurt you, did they?”
“No,” Gaz breathed out, relief in his eyes as he sighed heavily. “Not a scratch this time.”
“So not like Bastogne,” you joked weakly, daring to press a kiss to his forehead. “You stay here, let me handle this, alright?”
“Before you go,” he grabbed the shirt of your collar, pulled you down for a sweet kiss that made you smile and nearly relax into it. “Lucky charm, remember?”
You nodded, daring to smile at him before you grabbed the knife from your belt and took a look at it; the handle, a dark grey, had been engraved with half of your team’s patch, and half of his. You kept saying it was lucky, although now you weren’t so sure; still, you ducked down between the cars, and took one last look at Gaz. “Not like Bastogne… fuck, I ain’t having this bullshit anymore - why have they gotta fuck everything up?”
He grinned, nodding as he threw you his cap. “Show them no mercy, baby.”
Just like how you had switched from Batman to Bane when the hostage had spoken in an American accent, you pulled the switch again; running between the cars and the various little stacks of boxes and equipment as if there weren’t any bullets with your name on heading right your way. You didn’t give a shit, Gaz’s words echoing in your head as you grabbed one guy by the throat, dragging him down before dragging the blade right through his skull through his eye. Blood already smeared across your face as you moved onto the next target. You grabbed his gun, and although you weren’t exactly the best with firearms - they were far too uncivilised for your tastes, if you were honest - you took up a position beside the body, aimed, and opened fire; three of the bastards fell, and you heard Price’s voice call out over the Comms.
“This is Bravo Six,” he sounded breathless. “Carolus Rex, if you can hear me - do not stand down. There’s six yanks heading your way, and they look like they’re ready for a scrap.”
“Roger that, Bravo Six,” you replied, hoping that the gunfire didn’t muffle your voice too much, “I got ‘em in sight… say - anyone know what happens when you bring a knife to a gunfight?”
“Not sure, Carolus Rex,” Price chuckled. “Care to show us?”
“Fuck it,” you laughed. “Why not? Stupid cunts shouldn’t have shot at my husband… Carolus Rex out.”
The others stopped in their tracks when they saw you step out into the open, brandishing that knife as you grinned and allowed the six enemies to encircle you; they looked fucking pissed, and that meant that they were weak. As Sun Tzu said, “Hence the skilful fighter puts himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for defeating the enemy.”
“Now, lads,” you laughed, looking around at them all. “Don’t you remember?”
The enemies looked amongst one another, one told you to shut up, but you held your hand up.
“Carolus Rex, what the fuck are you doing?” Price’s voice growled in your ear.
You chose to ignore it, speaking loudly as you held your knife above your head for a moment. “Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win… and you fucking pricks seemed to go to war first.”
They didn’t even see you when you threw your knife at the first one, managing to take him down with ease before you grabbed the next, grabbing his shoulders and forcing him into the man beside him; they were sloppy, didn’t calculate anything, and didn’t know what they were up against. As the knife went in, cutting across their skin, you ignored their dying pleas, their cries of agony and begs for mercy that would never come. If you had had the time, you would have told them how shit they were, not just as soldiers, but as a team; easily, you slit their throats and drove your knife into their eyes, pulling it out and letting the blood trickle down from the blade for a moment before moving onto the next. Six of them, one of you, and you managed to slaughter the lot without even thinking twice about it. Breathing heavily when they were all down, bodies surrounding you, a wild look in your eyes as you took a quick glance around; you heard Soap and Alejandro confirm that, on their sides, the enemy had retreated. Yet, you were SAS; you were trained to compete, you could never suffer a defeat. But then Gaz slowly approached, making sure that no other enemies were around before he let his gun rest on his shoulder, and he pulled you into a tight hug.
“I’m dirty,” you murmured.
“I don’t care,” he whispered. “You’re my husband, and watching you take on six of them… it was kinda hot.”
You chuckled, hugging him tightly as you sniffled and shook your head. “I told you this was nothing like Bastogne.”
Gaz smiled, shaking his head. “Nothing’s gonna be like Bastogne… you okay, baby? They didn’t hurt you, did they?”
“Nah,” you swallowed thickly. “Maybe a couple bruises, a few scrapes here and there, but… nothing much else.”
He nodded, clearing his throat as he dared to speak over the Comms, “I’ve secured my husband - he’s fine. No injuries.”
“Good, we’ll be there soon,” Price promised. “Just gotta make sure we got the other bastards and no one’s playing dead.”
Pulling away, Gaz dared to look into your eyes as he tilted his head to the side, licking his lips. “You’ve got that wild look again.”
“Can you blame me?” You chuckled. “I don’t think any of those fuckers have ever read Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.”
“But you have,” he pointed out. “And look what happened… no one fucks with my husband and lives to see another day.”
“Unless it’s you,” you joked softly. “You’re allowed to fuck with me as much as you like.”
“I know,” Gaz chuckled, breaking away and leaning into your side when you wrapped your arm around his waist. “Who dares wins, right, baby?”
“That’s right,” you agreed with a grin. “What’d you think? Was that Christian Bale Batman, or Tom Hardy Bane?”
Pretending to think about it for a moment, he easily fell into step beside you as he marched with you back towards where the others were, planning to meet in the middle. “Definitely Tom Hardy Bane - I wouldn’t wanna meet you in a dark alley… wouldn’t wanna meet you in the smoking area of a pub, either… but are you sure they didn’t hurt you? You sure you’re all good?”
“I’m not broken,” you said reassuringly. “Are you?”
“I’m good as new,” Gaz smiled as he nodded. “Thanks to you.”
“Well, maybe we can make it even,” you mused. “Next time some shit kicks off, you can protect me instead.”
“Like Bastogne?”
“Not like that,” you grumbled playfully, shaking your head. “We ain’t doing that again.”

You said in your list of episodes that you don’t like 4.07 and 5.04 for lots of other reasons and I’m wondering if you could say more?
Oh boy, okay, get ready for another essay.
(And again, to clarify, I love our show. I don't like to be negative and nitpick every little detail. But no show is perfect, and to me these are two of the episodes that really just missed the mark.)
4x07 Fire Fight
This one already made it onto my least favorite Chenford eps for reasons I spelled out here. But that's actually not my main beef with the episode. It's Nolan's storyline that I dislike. First of all, I've always found it to be unnecessarily depraved and gruesome. And I realize there are actually people like that in the world, and that's clearly what they were going for, but I did not enjoy watching it. They could have accomplished the same ultimate storytelling goal in a less horrifying way. Secondly, Nolan's escape is just absolutely unrealistic. I know, I know, he's the protagonist. And obviously I knew from the beginning that he was going to make it out alive, because they're not going to kill off their lead. But I honestly had zero investment in how he was going to make it out. I don't care how much adrenaline was coursing through him, I can't suspend my disbelief enough to make his escape seem remotely realistic.
5x04 The Choice
First of all, RIP Annie Wersching. I was so shocked and saddened when she passed away. She was a talented actress and such a good villain in both this show and Castle. It also explains why the storyline was wrapped up so hastily. I know they were limited in their options. That being said, I didn't like how it ended. I already talked about the Chenford of it all in my previous post (in short, there was a lack of compassion from Tim toward Lucy's trauma and a lack of closure for both of them). My main complaint about the rest of the storyline is (a) plot holes and (b) the John and Bailey of it all. Actually, part (a) goes back to the end of 5x01 when Rosalind somehow escapes across the border. Like... what??? As if the plates on that car wouldn't have been flagged??? There's absolutely no way a high profile criminal like her would have been able to cross the border in the same car she used to flee the scene, but according to Grey that's exactly what happened. And then she comes back just to torment John and end up dead? If they'd given Rosalind a terminal illness as well, it might have made sense. Like, she wanted that to be her legacy, to corrupt the incorruptible boy scout and make him live with that for the rest of his life. But since they didn't go that route, it just felt like she was inexplicably giving up. I was left with a lack of understanding and a lack of closure. Lastly, the actual way it all went down had too many unrealistic moments. Like... am I supposed to believe that Bailey and her crew showed up at that house and Bailey just happened to be the one to fall into that trap rather than any of the others? Too convenient. And for the life of me, I will never understand why Tim used an axe to try to break the glass (which was very obviously not going to break that way) when he could have just had Bailey back against the wall of the trap so he could shoot a hole in it and let it start to drain. I'm sure there are other details too that I'm not remembering, but really my overall point is that - even on a shortened timetable - there was so much potential for this storyline to come to a satisfying resolution, but that didn't happen.

When it comes to the ASL brothers one “what if” situation I can’t stop thinking about the idea of. What if Sabo named dropped his brothers to Dragon at the grey terminal fires. Like in that scene where he clung to Dragon’s arm and spoke of his hatred to his own blue blood, what if he added in a plea of like “please save Ace and Luffy. They’re my brothers”
Cause like, I don’t know much about Dragon, I’m just wrapping up Zoh and heading to WCI. But he runs a fucking army so he’s not stupid. The name Luffy. Mentioned on an island in the east. As well as Garps home island (and maybe his too idk?) are enough connections to think. Hey, there’s a good chance that’s my fucking son.
But as I said, I really don’t know him well enough to tell if upon hearing this news would he be a “grrr I have a job to do. he will be fine. business bla bla bla >:[“ or maybe a “my sons a fucking child I need to make sure he’s ok >:0” I do think a small parallel scene to loguetown arc of like Luffy meets dragon would be hella cool (maybe he got lost from the bandits in the fire and Dragon beat up a pirate trying to hurt him) and they just stare for a moment before dragon points the way silently and Luffy runs off cause how tf do you pull the I’m your father card when your son is literally being traumatised right this very second.
But even if that DIDNT happen. When they eventually pluck a dying Sabo out of the water like a fucken grape. Dragon would know Sabo has more family there then just his parents, he had brothers. Would that result in Sabo being dropped back with them? Or maybe he gets his memories back earlier when Ace first makes a name for himself??? Would Dragon do his fucken research or at least encourage Sabo to early on in revolution school to find out what was left behind???
I SWEAR I NEED TO HURRY THE FUCK UP ON ONE PIECE SO I CAN START MAKING UP FICS AND AUS CAUSE I NEED TO MAKE THIS A THING BUT I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT DRAGON TO KNOW WHAT IS AND ISNT A STRETCH OF HIS CHARACTER. RAAAAAAAA

The scent of fire and ash, sights of grey, debris and smoke.
Artoria grips her staff tighter, her lips pursed as she glances at her friend staring down at the town's remains.
...Being behind her, she couldn't see what Ritsuka's expression was.
Glancing to Oberon, his gaze remained sharp on their friend. But when he spared her a brief look, they understood.
"I'm sorry, Fujimaru. But we're too late."
Da Vinci's voice rings through the intercom. "Not one had survived the incursion."
An attack so sudden, planned by their elusive opponent that continued to do any and all sorts of trouble in this singularity.
It was already hard enough to pinpoint their location, much less when their act has already happened before they even get a wind of it.
Without missing a beat, Da Vinci continued, "In any case, the vehicle you guys rode on will still have energy left enough to go back to base camp. I've already sent Mash and Kadoc the message to regroup over here. But Holmes and I talked about scouting another area of the land."
Artoria makes a face. She knows the situation is urgent and yet, at least, Da Vinci- Chaldea should give Ritsuka a min-
"Understood," Ritsuka replies, opening the controls of her communicator as she pressed and typed on the programs to send in information, "I'm already sending some plans and suggestions your way to capture the enemy with some of the evidence they'd left."
It's hard to see it. More so with her back turned to them, but if Artoria squinted she could see what lies beneath her words.
"As for the terminals, I'll ask Orion and Mordred to guard 3-AT and 5-BK tonight. Is that okay?"
"W-woah! I didn't think of that! We'll do a security lockdown sequence around that area then to protect the devices. That's some quick thinking, Fujimaru."
Finishing the last of her report in record time, the Master closes the programs from her communicator. "No problem."
"We'll see you in a bit then!"
As the line had cut off, Ritsuka finally turned to them.
...The problem with Ritsuka was that when she has her mind set on something, she would wholeheartedly believe it.
So much that in rings true whatever Ritsuka says to Artoria.
"Sorry for the delay," Their friend smiled. "Shall we head back down?"
—The problem with Ritsuka is that along with how her fairy eyes can't sometimes discern her truth, was that she had a perfect poker face.
Right now though, Artoria could see how paper thin it can be.
Empty eyes, easy smile, no light to be found in irises of sunset. And however faint they were, Artoria heard sharp whispers of self-blame, apologies and grief beneath it.
But one was predominant amongst the rest. First heard before it became a small cacophony to her ears.
Cold. She felt so cold.
Both Oberon and Artoria reached out-
And enveloped Ritsuka.
She could see that paper thin smile break in an instant.
-
Suffice to say, Oberon complained later about a wet shoulder with Ritsuka having to apologize while laughing.
...And that smile rang true with a tone of relief and ease to Artoria's eyes.
