Laying in bed with your boyfriend was the best part of your day. Always was. Especially when you just wanted to feel him around you in every way possible. Currently he had his arm under your neck, hand properly in your hair, just absentmindedly carding it through his fingers.
The opposite arm was resting on your hip, hand intertwined with yours as you let out a soft sigh. “You know what would look,” You started, pulling his hand just slightly up your side. Matt hummed faintly, glancing down at you regardless of the fact he couldn’t see your face. “Really good around my neck?”
For some reason just feeling Matt’s skin against yours had arousal bubbling in your abdomen, shifting just slightly to look up at him. His eyebrows were pulled together, eyes locked into yours. Gently you pulled at his fingers, the realization hitting on his face, “Oh-” In all honesty, he’d never even thought about choking.
Sure, he’d seen it done plenty of times in the porn he’d seen, but actually doing it? That was a different level. But as you nodded, dropping his hand and leaning over him to kiss him, he decided that he would do literally anything you wanted.
Not that that wasn’t already true. He’d find a way to walk on water if you had asked him to. But now, as your lips locked onto his, the roughness grew until he couldn’t stand being underneath you anymore.
Easily he flipped you onto your back, fingers trailing over your hips and up your sides. Matt slipped his hand under the loose shirt of his that you had on, “God you look so good in my clothes.” He muttered, leaving small marks from your jaw and down your neck that were certainly going to be there tomorrow.
That was his thing, he loved making sure everyone that worked with you knew that just because you were a bartender at a club didn’t mean you were free for them to grab at. You were taken and by a guy that would not hesitate to break someone’s face in for you.
“I think I look better without them,” You whispered in his ear, hearing the deep breath he sucked in. As smoothly as he could, he lifted the t-shirt, pulling it off and throwing it blindly to the side, face immediately going to your cleavage.
Now, you weren’t exactly cursed with a small chest and Matt would gladly live in the valley of your breasts if he could. One of his hands lifted, massaging one of them, his lips trailing underneath the other before they caught onto the nipple.
If he had the chance to get his mouth on you he took it and you adored every second of it. “Matt…” Your voice was breathy, back lifting into his touch as he softly sucked, a whine making its way through your lips.
Matt shifted himself between your legs, nudging them apart with his knee. Without much thinking you bucked your hips down, craving some sort of friction on your heat that only he could give you. And he did, moving his own down, the bulge under his sweatpants rubbing across you.
It wasn’t enough though, your hands snaking their way down, pulling him back against you with a press on his lower back. “You got yourself all worked up haven’t you?” Matt hummed, pulling away to get his own shirt off, a hand sliding over your shoulder.
He knew where you wanted him to touch you. And he could almost tell how badly but instead Matt pulled away, standing to kick his sweatpants off. You figured he’d come right back to you but instead, he grabbed your legs, pulling you to the edge of the bed.
A gasp slipped from your mouth as he leaned forward, kissing along your stomach before reaching your mouth again. “Now where did you want these?” He mumbled against your lips, ghosting his fingertips over every possible bit of open skin he could.
Down your sides, up your thighs, just barely touching your skin as he slid his palm up your stomach. Every ghost of a touch brought goosebumps to your body. “Matt please,” You pleaded, the only layers of clothing on either of you feeling like a tease all of its own.
“Please what princess? Touch you?” Matt’s eyebrow cocked up as he pulled your hips flush to the end of the mattress. “Cause I can touch you.” He just slowly pushed up, his barely covered length rubbing against the exact place you wanted, no, needed him.
You let out a whine, squirming slightly which did nothing but make him push you down by the waist. “Oh c’mon, you can take my teasing can’t you? You’re usually so good about it.” Matt dragged his palm down, gripping tightly at your upper thigh.
His thumb slid up the soaking piece of clothing you still had on, circling your clit just slightly before he pulled away. “Or are you feeling like a little slut tonight? I mean coming onto me about wanting my hand around your throat? Can’t get any worse than that.” Matt watched as your face twisted up, aching for anything more.
As soon as you tried to rock up against him he sighed, “I guess that answers that question, can barely use your words and you want me to believe you can take it tonight?” The cockiness that came out of him when he was horny was something nobody would ever believe.
This was Matt Casey, Lieutenant Matt Casey that was nothing but a leader and front man for his firefighters. But when he was with you? The nastiest words that came out of his mouth felt like they were getting spit right onto your cunt and he knew it.
God did he know how you got when he spoke to you the way he was. “I can.” You muttered, breath already heavy as you tried to control the way your body felt like it was burning. Matt tilted his head, lifting an eyebrow.
“What was that?” He leaned forward, knowing that him pressing against you was only working you up more but that’s exactly what he wanted. “You what?”
Thickly you swallowed, throbbing against him. “I can take it.” You reiterated, voice filled with desperation. “Please, Matt.” You bit at your lip, hands planted on the mattress next to you to keep from traveling down your own body.
Softly he hummed, fingers finally looping into the upper band of your underwear, just slightly pulling at them. “Oh you can?” Matt spoke, pulling the final layer off of you, hands instantly going right underneath the wetness.
You nodded instantly, his fingers inching closer to your entrance and it felt like if you had to wait any longer you’d explode. “Yes, yes I can, Matt just – fuck please.” Your pleading only did so much, the man obliging in the slightest as he let just his thumb land on the sweet spot you’d been dying for him to actually touch.
He barely moved it, painfully slowly encircling you. It was obvious from the look on your face that it wasn’t enough, that you wanted more and more but with Matt, the build up was what mattered the most.
“I could see how wet you are without even having to touch you, such a dirty girl,” He mumbled, leaning over you slightly, “Aren’t you?” His words were rhetorical, eyes moving down your body, soaking all of you in.
Matt sighed, slightly picking the pace up as he touched you, unsure how long he’d be able to hold off, his cock already aching and no doubt bright red as he worked you over. “Matt baby, please, I need you.”
Him touching you could only go so far, you wanted him deep and buried inside of you. “I’m not exactly done with you yet,” He was quick to respond, too busy enjoying the way you were practically squirming trying to get more friction.
That of course only made his other hand grip at your hip, tightly pushing it down, “Stay still or you won’t get anything that you want.” His threat pulled a whimper from you, fighting to stop your movements. “There you go, such a good slut for me, hm?” He hummed, rolling his thumb over you quicker as a slight reward.
Just as soon as he’d done that he fully pulled his hands away, instead shifting to kiss down your stomach, eyes up on your face as your breathing picked up. He knew how worked up you got with his mouth on you.
So it wasn’t that shocking that you felt his hot breath on your already aching skin followed by his tongue gliding through your slit. “Fuck–” Your breath caught, forcing your eyes shut to keep your body from lifting or even moving against the bed.
It wasn’t easy, each movement pushed you closer to breaking his one request. “Matt please,” You could barely focus on his movements, his tongue coming up to flick over your swollen and red bud. “I can’t–” A knot slowly built itself in your stomach, willing to be pushed over the edge.
But just like he knew what got to you, Matt always knew when you were close. So with one last kiss to your clit he stood again, the air now cold where his mouth had been. “I guess you’ve been good enough tonight,” He stated, slipping out of his boxers, finally letting himself free.
You couldn’t bite back the whine of desperation that grew as your eyes fell on his length. A smirk grew on his face as he stepped towards the end of the bed again. “Now, if I’m gonna give you what you want, you’re gonna give me what I want.” Matt trailed his fingers up you, cupping your cheek.
“Anything, just please fu–”
“Fuck you, I know baby, and I will, as long as you let everyone know who is fucking you.” He slid his hand from your face to the side of your neck, leaning down to kiss you. “Can you do that for me?” His voice was raspy, so filled with lust that you could have came untouched just hearing it in your ear.
Instantly you nodded, willing to agree to anything if it meant him in you. “Yes, yes, I can.” You didn’t have a chance to get anything else out, Matt slipping into you slowly, your head falling back.
A low groan built in Matt’s throat, having to still inside you to keep from busting right then and there. “God, you always feel so good around me.” He leaned his head down, just slightly rolling his hips forward.
“Matt–”
He shifted slightly, letting his hand splay on your chest, just inches from where you wanted it earlier, and where you still wanted it now. But of course he wasn’t going to give in that easily. And you could tell with each painstakingly slow thrust that he was going to take his time with this the same way as he did his teasing.
Your hands went up to his arm, squeezing, finding anyway to ground yourself to him that wasn’t in the way of pleasure forcing itself through your body. But his every touch made your skin burn, like it was all on fire.
You were a flame and he was the oxygen that kept it going. He didn’t seem to mind the way you let your other hand slide across your chest, just wanting to feel something more, anything. And your fingers trailing over your boobs did just that, a guttural moan escaping your mouth.
“Baby please go faster,” Your words were low but he heard them, just slightly building himself up, your legs hiking up around him. Each thrust felt like he was trying to get you over the edge but none did it, the feeling instead coercing through your veins.
His name was pulled out of you again, louder as his free hand lapped at your clit, slowly and in the opposite way his hips moved against yours. “You like that?” Matt looked down at you, twisting his fingers around you as he did. “When I touch you like this?” He cocked his eyebrow up.
“Y- yes, god so much.” Your words were mixed with moans as he sped up, unable to keep up the teasing thrusts, his own arousal building as he let out a heavy breath. “God, Matt, you’re–” You got cut off with a scream as he shifted, hitting that sweet spot right inside of you.
There was no way those living around you didn’t hear the way his name flew out of your mouth, hell, it’d be insane if they couldn’t hear the way your skin was slapping together. The slickness doing nothing but making it easier for him to slide in and out.
Just as you started to build up again, you looked up at Matt, grabbing his wrist. It wasn’t enough, you needed his hand. Matt wrapped it just enough around your throat, using the grasp to brace himself as he jutted forward harsher, your entire body shifting underneath him.
You gazed up at him, entire body overwhelmed as you grew closer and closer, “Tighter,” You moaned out, his name following as you felt his grip tighten just enough that you instantly clenched around him.
His name filled the room, moans mixing together with his as he worked you through it. “You just love when I have my hand around you, hm? Love being here for my own discretion?” Matt leaned forward, biting at your shoulder. “Being a dirty whore for me?”
You whimpered softly, nodding. How did you end up here? Casually saying that hey, your hand around my neck would be nice to him pumping into you so hard you knew you were going to be sore before the night was even over.
Not that you were complaining, every movement that he did made your heart race, one final squeeze of his hand officially sending you over the edge.
Every part of you shook, your heels digging into Matt’s lower back as you lifted slightly, being pushed back down as he continued into you.
There was no way he was one and doning you, no, he had plans now. And it was obvious from the way he didn’t stop, didn’t slow that he was sure he was going to get you through it more than once. More than twice. Maybe even more than three times.
And that just made your pussy ache more than it already was. You were already dripping and the whoreish sounds coming from both your body and mouth practically shoved Matt over the edge.
His voice was low as your name slipped like honey off of his lips, his face pressing to your skin as he fucked you through his own orgasm. His warmth filled you up and you didn’t even care that he hadn’t pulled out.
You didn’t care if this ended with you pregnant. All that mattered was how good everything felt. And god did it feel amazing. Matt’s thrusts only slightly slowed in an attempt to catch his breath, his hands still clamped onto you.
That’s the only reason you knew he wasn’t pulling out anytime soon. And that you were definitely in for at least a handful of more rounds.
“You feel so fucking good Matt Jesus—“ You groaned out loudly, face red as you reached up and put a hand on the back of his neck, pulling him into a kiss.
Your lips together always felt like someone set off fireworks and shoved you two together as they went off. Practically heaven on earth.
Plus when you were together at the same time? Matt was basically a fucking angel. Literally. He pulled back, pulling you up. “You still doing okay?” He whispered, making sure he wasn’t being too rough during all of this.
And he wasn’t. It was the perfect mixture of roughness that had you weak in the knees for him. And as you nodded he peppered an army of kisses over your face.
Gently he slid out of you, standing and holding out his hand to pull you to your feet. He was aware at how wobbly you were but in seconds you were pushed against the wall with his chest to your back, his arms wrapped around you tightly anyway.
His mouth left hot kisses over your shoulders, brushing your hair out of the way as he moved up to suck a mark onto your neck. “You’re so beautiful baby,” his words mumbled against your skin.
All you could do was hum, your body still sensitive as his hands caressed everywhere he could touch. “So, so beautiful.” Matt continued under his breath before pushing back into you.
A moan slid off his lips, reverberating on your skin as he trailed his hand back up your chest. “You have been doing…” a soft bite to the shoulder, “so good for me.” A firm thrust, his hand properly grabbing at your throat in time.
Your knees wobbled as you braced yourself to the wall, Matt’s thrusts almost bringing tears to your eyes. He relentlessly moved against you, holding onto you tightly, the exact way he knew you wanted.
Somehow the blonde was always, always so detail oriented. His fingers traced or touching exactly where they needed to, like he knew exactly what buttons to press to make you orgasm again and again.
Like how right now his grip was just tight enough that you were already building up a second time, the dopamine rushing through your veins. “Matt, Matt I’m already close I—“ Your word loud against the wall as his other hand snaked over your hips, holding you tautly to him.
“Go ahead princess,” He hummed, the breath on the back of your neck being the final nail as your knees buckled, vibrating against him as you fell into pieces under his touch.
Your eyes saw white as your orgasm crashed over you, forehead leaning onto the wall along with a string of profanities.
And he didn’t stop, face twisting up as he continued into you. “Matt-“
“You wanted this right? To cum oh so badly.” He hummed, the two of you ready for an incredibly long night that would have you aching for at least the next two days.

What does the bad timeline au look like for your boys 👀
OOOOH, here we go!
(So, I did hint to this in the NFIF/UIFY Crossover when DvD met Omega, and Omega ran a simulation to see what DvD's future would be like. It was a general explanation, but I'm gonna go deeper into detail now --)
2020: So, first off, the Krang attack in 2020, same as in canon. Leon, 'Phael, Mikey, and DvD manage to survive the invasion by some miracle. For the first year, they just focus on staying alive and hidden from the aliens, but by the end of that first year the reunite with April and their friends and discover the beginnings of the Resistance. (Karai was separated from them all as well, but no one has seen her yet and so they all assume she's dead.)
2023-2025: Several years pass, and there is still no sign of Karai. While the boys are out doing a supply raid, they get ambushed by a Krang attack and are caught in a collapsing building. 'Phael freezes in panic and Leon takes a hit to rescue him, though the two are trapped in rubble together as they wait for Mikey and DvD to dig them out. However... Leon doesn't have that long, and encourages Raph as the leader of their family to stay strong and take care of Mikey and Donnie and April and everyone else...
Leo dies, having saved Raphael.
2025-2030: The three mourn their brother, but do their best to help lead the Resistance. In 2026, Cass gives birth to a son, and 'Phael helps her to raise the child. However, during these five years, tragedy strikes again. Michelangelo's hypoglycemia has been acting up due to the low rations, and in spite of their promptings to take care of himself, Mikey has been intentionally skipping meals so the others can take his rations, effectively starving himself. That, coupled with the injuries he gets from his ninpo overdrive, finally takes its toll on his frail body.
Mikey starves to death.
2030-2035: After Mikey's death, Donnie and Raph have a hard time staying cheerful. And to add to the grief, Cassandra dies in battle as well. But some good comes to light, as the group receives word of a lone stranger roaming New York and saving survivors while battling the Krang. After investigating, they discover that Karai has survived and become something of a folk hero! She joins their Resistance, bringing her own group of survivors with her. During this time, Raphael has grown to be a force to be reckoned with, and even the leader of the Resistance! Donatello is working around the clock to create weapons and grow nutritional, non-contaminated plants that they can eat safely. It's hard work, but no one said the end of the world was easy. DvD discovers a formula and equation that may work for time-travel, but he is unsure... he starts to build the machine.
2035-2044: The Resistance is not looking good. They can barely go above ground anymore without being picked off and slaughtered. The food and supplies are running low. 'Phael realizes that the end is coming, and there may be no escape. He has Donnie work full-time on the time machine, as it is their last hope. The Resistance grows smaller and smaller with each passing month, until it seems like it's just Raph, DvD, April, Karai, and Casey Jones Jr., along with a few special people like Big Mama Frida Kahlo. Finally, in 2044, the Krang find their hideout and begin to slaughter the last of the Resistance. Raph has CJ and Donnie evacuate into the labs with the time machine, and while Raph holds them off, Donnie begins to power the machine with his ninpo and what little electricity they have left. Raph instructs Casey on what to do, that he's sending him back in time -- not necessarily to stop the Krang, but more importantly to save Casey from the attack. If nothing else, Casey must survive. If Raph can do nothing else but make sure that his boy sees a world without war, where he is healthy... that will be enough for him. That will redeem his mistakes, how he let his brothers die because of his failures and fear. Casey has to live. He tells him to find his family, warn them, and to find his sister as well, because she -- Suddenly the Krang break into the room, and Casey is thrown into the time machine. Dee's ninpo goes into overdrive and powers the machine, though it costs him his life. Raph manages to hold the Krang off until the machine does it's duty, and then...
Raph and Donnie die sending Casey Jones Jr. into the past.
And yes, I did cry writing this.

Mostly...? Read it on ao3 or below the cut.
[ prev ]
If you had tried to describe this scene to April a few months back, there’s no way she would have ever believed it. Hell, if you had tried to describe it to her a few weeks ago, she still probably wouldn’t have believed it, because the concept was just so… alien. Even after she knew about her brothers’ ‘mutant origins,’ it still felt alien. She couldn’t help but see them as anything but… people! Those were just her brothers. And the right way to see them was just the way she had always known them; as humans. And seeing them in ‘turtle mode,’ as Mikey had taken to calling it, felt so strange and uncomfortable. Not just because she wasn’t used to it, but because she knew that they weren’t used to it, and the way they had held themselves just always seemed so… unhappy. Like their own skin was burning them. She couldn’t help but look at them and the way they moved and how they held themselves and think, oh my god, they’re sick. Something is wrong. I have to help them. I have to take care of them.
But jesus, the way Mikey moved now? It was the most natural thing in the world. It was like he had been this way his entire life, and he couldn’t possibly seem more comfortable or at ease. All April could really think was, wow. He’s in his element, isn’t he?
She had been vaguely aware of this new ‘thing’ the guys were working on for a while, but this was the first time they actually tried it out for-real-for-real, out in the field, on some low-stakes outing. There wasn’t even a Dark Armor piece here or anything; they were just staking the place out because Foot Shack merchandise trucks came in and out of this parking garage a lot, and they were looking into it, just in case. Just practice, more than anything, with Raph leading the way and Yoshi once again on standby…
It was just so fluid. April watched in silent awe as her littlest brother slipped in and out of two different bodies like water, seamlessly transitioning from one to the other as he moved. Five fingers would be conjured to undo a latch on a grate, and then tucked back away again as if they had never been there. He’d flit from form to form to match each shadow and blend in.
At one point, even, when they were ascending a fire escape, making their way up to the roof to get a bird’s eye view, Mikey misstepped and he slipped-- and he fell. Every single person had jumped for a moment, and April could tell that all her brothers were about ready to dive after him. She was, too.
But they didn’t need to.
He was tucked into the safety of his shell before he even hit the ground.
And by the time the hard carapace was bouncing back up after smacking against the pavement, eliciting only a short clack with the impact, he was a human again, his feet under him, jumping back onto the fire escape to catch up again as if nothing had ever happened.
Raph and Leo were doing it, too, but… God. Not like Mikey.
But April had to admit-- even Raph and Leo were beginning to get the hang of it. They all were.
Well… All of them except for Donnie.
“You know,” she mumbled at some point once they got to the top of the roof, heaving her way upwards. Donnie reached over to grab her arm, helping hoist her the rest of the way up. “If either of us fell, we’d be totally screwed.”
“Yes, well,” they muttered in a deadpan. “Just trying to offer some solidarity to you, our sole human team member. I know it must be very difficult to be a minority.”
April scoffed softly, but didn’t push it.
Leo grinned big, stretching his arms over his head as the whole group made their way up to the rooftop. “Okay, uhhh, I don’t wanna jinx it--”
“Then don’t--” Donnie hissed.
“But this is actually going, like, really well?”
“Why would you say that?” Donnie sighed deeply, shaking his head.
“Oh, psh. As if you believe in all that, anyway,” Leo scoffed, waving him away with a flick of his wrist. “I’m just saying, like, we’re kind of being badasses!”
“All we’re doing is sneaking around an empty parking garage,” Donnie pointed out dryly, quirking a brow as he crossed his arms over his chest. “It’s not exactly high stakes.”
“See, Dee, this is your problem,” Leo sighed, shaking his head as he placed a hand on his hip. “You’re always focused on the negatives…!”
“Both of you shut up,” Raph said. “Leo is right--”
“HAH! Suck it--”
“Shut up,” Raph pressed, smacking a large palm over his little brother’s face in order to quiet him. “He’s right that we did good. Or. Well. We’re doin’ good so far. And Dee, nice job figurin’ out the bracelet thing! It’s way easier to swap back and forth without having to actually take it off.”
Donnie puffed up his chest a bit, seeming smug. “Yes, well, it isn’t a terribly complicated mechanism, it just took a bit of studying for me to unravel, truly no great feat--”
“Don’t get carried away,” April mumbled, leaning over to hip-check her brother briefly. Donnie huffed.
“Sooooo… now what do we do?” Mikey asked, turning to glance over the side of the roof, resting his elbows on the ledge. “‘Cause, uhhh, no offense? But this place is… suppperrrr boring!”
“Well,” Raph said, seeming a bit unsure of himself. “We, uh… We didn’t find anything evil or anythin’. Which is good! So I guess we…”
“Document the hell out of everything!” Donnie declared happily, moving to join Mikey’s side with a grin. “Snag pictures of the layouts, all exits and entrances, stairwells, and anything else that may be pertinent, and I can reverse engineer blueprints of the entire place with some beta software I have back home-- this would be the perfect chance to try it out. And then, if anything evil does ever happen here, we will be completely prepared!”
“Uh, yeah!” Raph agreed after just a beat of hesitation. “What Donnie said! That’s what we’re doing.”
“Impeccable leadership as always, dear Raphala,” Donnie sang, wasting no time at all in slinging his backpack from his back, beginning to unpack a cacophony of tech. “Now, I have HD, nightvision, two different drones, one macro and one micro, body cams, magnetic sonogram machines, patent pending, and a RED, which no, Mikey, you may not touch--”
“Aw, what!? No fair!”
“Ask Dad for your own!”
“But you already have one--”
April sighed deeply, rolling her eyes and resisting an exasperated smile. Oh boy. Donnie came prepared prepared.
That meant… This might take a while.
---
Casey had been told her entire life that she was too loud.
So she was well aware of the fact.
Her mother had told her, back when she was in contact with her. Her teachers had told her, back when she went to school. And her Senseis had told her, too, over and over again, gently informing her each time her volume got away from her that she needed to dial it back a bit. She was aware. She knew she was too loud.
But no one ever had anything to say when she was quiet.
Because she was capable. She had dedicated years of her life training to be a ninja-- obviously, she could be quiet. And really, she had always known how to be quiet. She had been good at it ever since she was small.
It was just that when she was quiet, no one ever had anything to say.
No one ever looked at her when she was quiet.
She’d fade away.
So it was easy, really, to find hiding places around the Foot’s hideout any time she had free time on her hands to burn away. She was quite good at tucking herself into little cracks and crevices, and always had been. The layout of their base really only lent to this. And she had only gotten better at it as time passed.
Perched up on the catwalk, curled up small and bent over, she could watch members of the Foot returning from their latest mission, greeted excitedly by the rest of their clan. They had been gone for some time now-- one of the many elite strike teams sent out to fetch more far-flung armor pieces. They weren’t all just conveniently clustered in New York, after all.
They had started sending these teams out months ago. And now, one by one, they all slowly returned, each with another piece of the armor in hand to add to their growing collection.
Every day, they got closer. She could feel the energy in the air, ever pitching higher and sharper the closer they got to their goal. Even her senseis were infected by it, brighter than she had ever seen them before.
And that was amazing. That was wonderful.
She remembered the praise she had gotten after that one mission-- after she faced down the Hamato Clan in a department store of all places. How pleased they had been with her. And god, that had been amazing.
But now she simply resented its absence.
And even though she had always known that there wasn’t really any chance that she’d be sent to join any of these special teams-- to be sent out to join them in the field and contribute to something greater, to be a true part of the clan and show them what she could do…
Every time another came back, it just sealed the reality of the matter that that door had closed. And she wasn’t going anywhere.
---
“Donnie, seriously--”
“What!? Do you want the 3D model to be accurate, or don’t you!?” He cried, whipping around to face her, and April groaned loudly, dragging her hands down her face.
“Why do we need a 3D model again!? Just make a blueprint!”
“Ah, yes, well, I could…” Donnie said, spinning on his heels with a grin. “But why have an inferior, two-dimensional recreation of a space when I could make a far superior, three-dimensional recreation!? That’s a whole entire other dimension!”
“Donnie!” April barked, scowling. “We have been here for hours. Do you have any idea what time it is?!”
“No, not really.”
“Well how about you check!?”
“Fine, fine, yes, the time is approximately-- Oh, sweet Galileo. Is it actually that late?”
“Yes!” All four of his siblings chorused, and Donnie scowled, a little pout blossoming on his face.
“... But… My model…”
“Donnie, you’ve already documented nearly every square inch of this place--”
“I’m sure the model will be fine, Purple,” Yoshi’s voice crackled over the radio. “It is time to go home.”
Donnie sighed deeply, giving a dramatic heave of his chest… but he reluctantly began to pack his gear away. “Okay, okay, fine. I will concede. But if there comes a time when we are in desperate need of a one-hundred-percent accurate third-dimensional model of this establishment, I hope you will all be prepared to eateth thy--”
“Shush. We’re on a stealth mission, remember?” Raph muttered, swiping at his head lightly. “C’mon, you guys. Leo, wake Mikey up, let’s go.”
Leo sighed, allowing the video he was playing on his phone to wrap up before he pocketed it, beginning to nudge his younger brother, curled up and slumped against him.
“C’mon, Angie, we’re going home,”
“Whaaaaa…” Mikey mumbled, blearily beginning to open his eyes-- blinking away the few stray rays of orange light that fluttered around his eyelashes even when he was just dozing. “Did we… win…?”
“Yep, we totally won. C’mon. Get up.”
Raph sighed deeply. “Do you want me to carry--?”
“No! I can do it!” Mikey woke up properly now, quickly scrabbling up to his feet.
April sighed deeply. “My parents are going to kill me for being out this late,” she grumbled. “And when they kill me, I’m killing all of you, just for the record!”
“Don’t kill me! Kill Donnie!” Leo protested.
“Oh, like any of you were keeping track of time and keeping him from going totally Donnie about this whole thing!”
“Hey--”
“Neither were you,” Mikey pointed out, and April scowled, grinding her teeth.
Dammit.
She hated when he had a point.
“Whatever. C’mon, let’s get out of here,” she said with a huff. “You good, Donnie?”
“All set,” he replied, tossing his bag back over his shoulder. “Let us bounce.”
And so they did.
The good news was that Leo was getting a lot better about this whole portalling thing with the help of the weird mystic sword he had! Which was cool, so the commute home? So do-able!
The bad news was that it was still way past her curfew. She quietly cursed herself for letting them be out so late. She hadn’t even realized the time until she glanced at her phone and noticed all the texts… and the missed calls.
“You good, April?” Raph questioned, frowning a bit as she hurriedly gathered her things, having traded her certified Ninja Gear for street clothes, quickly shoving things into her bag and toeing on her shoes.
“I’m fine, it’s all good,” she muttered.
“Do you want me to walk you home…?” Yoshi questioned, his brows furrowed. “I’m sure I could talk to your parents--”
“It’s fine, Yosh. Don’t worry about it. They’re chill! They probably, like… barely noticed I’m late!” She said, forcing a smile.
“Alright, well, if you need anything--”
“Right! Got it, thanks, bye!” She chirped, throwing herself out the door and slamming it shut behind her before she could look at their sad, guilty faces any more. Ugh. It wasn’t their fault, really. I mean, it was, but no more than it was her own.
I should have set an alarm, she thought bitterly.
On a stealth ninja mission? So it can go off in the middle of you trying to sneak past a bad guy or something? Yeah, brilliant plan, she thought immediately after.
When April quietly crept back into her own apartment, slipping her key into the side door, the house seemed quiet. The kitchen lights were off, and there was no screaming or yelling right off the bat. That was a good sign.
The living room lights, however, she could already see from here… were on. That was a less good sign.
Drawing in one last deep breath, she darted the rest of the way inside, bumping the door closed with her hip.
“Hey, guys, I’m home…!”
“April!” Her mom responded to the call almost immediately, and half a second later, April was no longer alone in the kitchen. Warm yellow light flooded the space as a light switch was clicked on, and April winced slightly, blinking a few times to adjust. “There you are-- where in the world have you been?! Do you have any idea what time it is?!”
“Uh, yeah, my bad!” She laughed nervously, throwing her hands up as if to surrender. “Kinda lost track of time, uh, I was just over at the Hamatos doing homework and stuff…”
“Oh, were you?” That was her dad, now, and April winced a tiny bit at the tone he used, which meant that she had fucked up. “Because we went over knocking on their door ten minutes ago to come and get you, and no one answered.”
Oop. Fuck.
“Oh, yeah, we ran over to the corner store to get some snacks, so…?”
“In the middle of the night? By yourself?” Her mom protested, and April huffed softly, rolling her eyes.
“Uh, no? I literally just said that I went with the Hamatos--”
“Hey! Watch the attitude, miss,” her dad immediately cut in, and April winced. “I don’t think you have any room to be being huffy at us when you’re coming home two hours past curfew, and wouldn’t pick up your phone… Do you have any idea how many times we called you!?!”
“I’m sorry!” She said, throwing up her hands. “I forgot I had it on silent, I just, I wasn’t looking at the clock…!”
“For two hours?” Her mom cried. April bit the inside of her cheek, feeling her stomach flip-flop in response to the slight crack in her mother’s voice. “April, baby, you-- you can’t do that! This isn’t okay!”
“It was an accident--!”
“You can’t just disappear!” She continued. “You can’t just leave us not knowing where you are, we can’t--!”
“I know! I know, I’m sorry, okay? It was an accident!” April pressed, her face flushed. “I know, okay? I really, really didn’t mean to…! I just… I wasn’t paying attention. Okay?”
She frowned, wrinkling up her nose and glaring at her feet.
“Sorry.”
For a few long moments, the kitchen was silent.
Her father heaved a long, shuddering sigh.
“No more phone on silent,” he finally said. “When we text or call you, we expect you to answer right away. Understood?”
“... Yeah. Okay,” April grumbled softly, kind of toeing at the kitchen tile. She was sure Donnie could help her… figure out a way to make that work when they were out on missions and stuff…
“And this is the last time you miss curfew,” he added in, his eyes narrowed. “Full stop. We are not doing this again. Understood?”
“... Yeah.”
“April.”
“Yes. Understood, Dad,” she sighed loudly, tilting her head back and resisting the urge to roll her eyes, frustration prickling at her stomach.
“... Go to bed,” her dad finally said, his arms still crossed over his chest. “And you come straight home after school tomorrow.”
“Wha-- but Dad! I was gonna--”
“Do not argue with me April O’Neil,” he snapped. “Bed. Now. We’re not discussing this any further.”
April really, really thought about discussing it further.
But she didn’t.
For a lot of reasons. One being that she valued her life and freedom.
The other being that she couldn’t stand to look at her mom’s face anymore. Not when she was staring at her like that.
It wasn’t like she had never lied to her parents before. Of course she had! What teen doesn’t? She had fibbed about plenty of things before. Yes, I did brush my teeth already. No, I didn’t unlock all the parental controls on the computer. Yes, I am going to Bailey’s to study for chemistry and not anywhere else or for any other reason. Etc. etc. etc.
But she had never lied… like this before.
April ground her teeth, kicking her door shut as she threw her bag down, flopping down onto her bed and burying her face into the nearest pillow with a scowl. She suddenly felt unwelcome tears pricking at the corners of her eyes, and she tried to will them away, though with mixed success.
A little part of her thought, they’d understand if you explained everything to them.
But a much larger part of her said, are you literally insane?
Because, really… how do you explain something like this? How would she even begin? What would she say? And even if she did try, even if she did think it was a good idea, even if she did want to, she…
She couldn’t.
Because it wasn’t her secret to tell.
April had known Raph, Donnie, Leo, and Mikey since she was six. She used to go over to their house every day after school until her parents came home. Their families went on day trips together. They celebrated holidays together. Her parents knew the Hamatos nearly as well as they knew her. They had always had this… weird, amazing blend of Hamato and O’Neil, pressed close in such a way that it was hard to see where one started and the other began sometimes.
And she had always loved that. She had always adored this.
But she had never felt a pull like this before.
She had never felt like she had to choose between being an O’Neil or a Hamato before.
---
“Daddy!” April shrieked.
She waited a moment, pausing to see if she’d get a reply, but after five seconds passed without a response, she breathed in deep, repeating the call with the volume cranked up.
“Daddy!”
That one worked. Her dad’s head popped out from the apartment a moment later, peering through the door that was always kept propped open when she played in the alley like this. “I’m comin, I’m comin, baby, hang on--”
“Come look!” April bade, waving her arms hurriedly. “Hurry up!”
“I’m hurrying! I’m hurrying!” Her dad laughed, quickly toeing on some sneakers before venturing out into the concrete jungle, half-jogging his way over to where she was crouched in the alley, moving to squat down next to her.
“What? What is it?”
“Lookit what I found!” She squeaked excitedly, pointing to a single feather resting on the asphalt. “Look! A feather!”
“Oh, wow! Good find, sunshine.”
“Can I pick it up!?”
“... Yeah, okay, so long as you wash your hands afterward.”
April absolutely wriggled with excitement, immediately snatching the feather up from the ground, turning it over in her hands a few times to examine. One side of it was this pale, cloudy gray, all fluffy and soft, but the other side was a sleek, shiny shade of cobalt blue. Just holding it made her grin, and she looked up at her dad with wide eyes.
“What kinda feather is it?”
“I dunno,” her dad said, shrugging a bit, resting his elbows on his knees. “But I bet we could find out.”
---
“Casey.”
Casey whined softly, curled up a bit further under the covers. Was it time for school already…? But she didn’t wanna get up…
“Hey. C’mon, Casey. Wake up.”
Wait, wasn’t it a Saturday…?
“Noooo…”
“No?”
“Noooooo.”
“What’s wrong, Case?”
“I’m sleeping, Daddy…”
“Oh, you’re sleeping?”
“Yeah!”
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize,” her father exclaimed with faux surprise, drawing back slightly. “Well, if you’re sleeping, and you don’t want to go hiking up on Newton Hill with me--”
Casey’s eyes shot open.
“You’re going out into the woods?!” She gasped, immediately upright in bed, her eyes wide.
“I am,” her dad confirmed, this big, wide grin growing on his face. “I was hoping you’d come with me, but, I mean, if you’re still sleeping…”
“No! No, I’m awake!” She squeaked, just barely managing to contain herself and keep her volume down. She threw her covers back, scrambling quickly from bed. “I swear I’m awake! Please can I come hiking with you?!”
Her dad laughed.
“Ah, how can I say no to that face?” He teased, reaching down to ruffle her hair. “Hurry up and get dressed, sunshine, and let’s get out of here.”
---
April gasped, jumping over her dad’s arm so that she could point at the screen of his laptop.
“That one! That’s the feather!” She exclaimed. “It looks just like ours!”
“Hmmm…” Her father hummed appraisingly, leaning into slightly to squint, before he gave a firm nod. “I do concur, April, I think that is our feather! Here, let’s double-check. Are the colors the same?”
“Yeah!” April said, grinning wide as she held the feather up. “Look! It’s the same blue.”
“And the same shape, right?”
“Uh-huh!”
“And we measured it--”
“And it’s twelve centimeters! Look, Daddy! It’s this one!” She insisted, and her father laughed.
“Yeah, okay. You’re right. Definitely our feather.”
“What bird is it!?”
“According to this, it’s a mallard feather.”
“A mallard?” April echoed. “What’s that?”
“It’s a type of duck!”
“A duck!?” April cried, her eyes widening, holding her prize up in amazement. “This is a duck feather!?”
“It sure is, sunny girl.”
“Whoa! That’s so cool!”
“You know,” her dad said. “I bet if we went down to the park, we might be able to find some more feathers…”
---
Cassandra was absolutely alight with energy, bouncing from foot to foot as she scampered around, practically doing laps around her dad. The drive over had been equal parts exhilarating and tortuous, with Casey wriggling in her car seat the entire time, her face pressed up against the window.
This was her favorite thing in the world.
She loved Newton Hill.
“Daddy, I wanna go all the way to the top!!!” She exclaimed, bouncing up and down, grabbing onto his pants leg to yank at him.
“All the way to the top?” He echoed dramatically.
“Yes!”
“Alright, you got it,” he hummed, fishing something from his pocket before kneeling down next to her. “All the way to the top. I think we can do it.”
“We can,” Casey agreed excitedly, leaning against his knee and leaning over slightly so she could peer at the item in his hands.
“Alright. Let’s do it,” her dad enthused. “But first-- I have got a job for you, Casey.”
Casey blinked in surprise as her father pressed the stopwatch into her palm, tilting her head slightly to the side.
“I have a job?”
“You have a job,” he confirmed. “You are gonna be in charge of timing us.”
“Timing us?”
“Yep! Here, you press this button to start the time-- and this button to end it. And you--” He pointed to her decisively, this big, mischievous grin on his face. “Are gonna find out how long it takes us to get from here to the top of the trail.”
Casey tilted her head to the side.
“Why?”
“Because,” her father declared, his hands on his hips as he rose back up to his feet. “David from work bet that I couldn’t get all the way up to the top in four hours. So now I’ve gotta prove him wrong.”
Casey stared at her father for a second.
And then she gasped.
“He bet we couldn’t do the whole trail in four hours!?” She shrieked in offense.
“He sure did, Case.”
“HOW DARE HE!” She wailed, throwing her head back.
This was the other best part of Newton Hill. She could be as loud as she wanted out here.
“Exactly!” Her father sighed, throwing out his hands with a dramatic shake of his head. “I knew you’d understand. So obviously, we have to show him up! You up for the challenge, sunshine?”
“Yes!” She cried, immediately setting off-- hesitating only long enough to run back, grabbing onto her dad’s pants leg and yanking at him. “Come ON! Hurry up! We are gonna WIN! Let’s GO!”
---
“Come on! Hurry up! Let’s go!” April squealed, yanking at her Dad’s hand impatiently. “Look! I see one!”
“I’m coming, April, I’m coming!” Her dad laughed, jogging slightly to keep up with the enthusiastic five-year-old. “Hang on, sunshine.”
April darted across the lawn, hopping over wayward twigs or stones until she got to the water’s edge, waving her arms excitedly as she knelt down to pluck the feather from the ground.
“Look!” She said, beaming as she turned to show her dad. “Do you think it’s another duck feather?!”
“Might be. Or it could be a goose.”
I hope it’s a goose,” April said, scampering her way back over to her dad, who knelt down to hold open the ziploc baggie for her. April deposited the feather inside, along with the several other specimens they had already collected. “We already have a duck feather.”
“Yeah, but maybe it’ll be a different kind of duck,” her dad countered, zipping the baggie back up once their prize was safe inside. April paused at this, tilting her head to the side slightly. Oh! Another kind of duck? She hadn’t even thought about that!
“Well, then, I hope it’s a different kind of duck. Or a goose,” she declared, grinning big. “When we get back home, can we show Mommy all the feathers?”
“Of course we can,” her dad said. “I’m sure she’ll be thrilled for you to show her. Especially if you can tell her which feather is which!”
“I will. I’m gonna look it up. I’m gonna do research,” April declared proudly, grinning as she spun around on her heel. “Come on! We gotta find some more. I wanna have a bunch for mommy.”
---
Casey froze in place, her body going rigid as a tiny little gasp caught itself in her throat.
“Daddy!” She whispered, her voice hushed, but fervent. “Daddy, lookit! Under the rock!”
After hiking for two hours now, Casey only occasionally electing to ride on her dad’s shoulders rather than racing up the trail, poking at every leaf, stone, and mushroom they came across, the pair had finally elected to take a break, settling down on the stones of a creekbed to rest and munch on the snacks her father had packed along. The stopwatch she was wearing around her neck was still ticking away-- but they were making good time. Certainly enough time to catch their breath.
And it was here that Casey spotted a tiny black-and-yellow snake-- just barely poking its head from beneath the shadows of a stone just inches away from them. Its little pink tongue flicked out a few times as it examined the world hesitantly, turning its head from side to side, as if checking for something.
“Whoa!” Her dad breathed, keeping care to keep his voice soft once he spotted the creature. He slowly moved to place a hand on her shoulder, patting her gently. “Nice eye, Casey.”
“It’s a real snake!”
“It is.”
“What kind is it?”
“Probably a garter snake, I’d bet,” he whispered, grinning ever so slightly. “I bet he wants to come out and sun himself on the rocks.”
“Why?”
“Reptiles are cold-blooded, Casey. They’ve gotta warm themselves up with the sun, or else they get too cold.”
“Oh,” she said, her eyes wide. “... He’s so cool…”
“He is,” her dad agreed, shooting her a small grin. “Good job, sunshine. I never even would have noticed that little guy! I would have totally missed him.”
Casey absolutely beamed. “Really?”
“Yep!” He confirmed, chuckling softly, leaning over to ruffle her long black hair, carding his fingers through it briefly. “But you’re so smart, of course you saw it… Alright. You ready to get moving again? I bet that little dude would be pretty excited if he got to come out in peace and warm himself up.”
She nodded excitedly, wasting no time at all in beginning to get herself back to her feet. Despite all the running and jumping and climbing she had already done, she was suddenly filled with energy once more.
“I’m ready, Daddy!”
---
“And this one is a pigeon…”
“Mmm-hmmm…”
“And this is a pigeon…”
“I see…”
“And this one a pigeon feather, too…”
“Ah…”
“And this is a starling!”
“Oh!”
“And this is a pigeon!” April exclaimed excitedly, spreading the feathers out on the paper towel slightly, grinning big. “... There are a lotta pigeon ones.”
“That does make sense,” her mom said, smiling a tiny bit. “Thank you so much for showing me, baby! This is so impressive! I can’t believe you found all of these all by yourself!”
“Nu-uh!” April protested, turning to grin big up at her mother. “Daddy helped me! Except for the first one. I found that one all on my own.”
“Well, then, good job to your Daddy, too,” her mom remarked, and April just caught her shoot a smile across the kitchen to her dad, who was busy preparing dinner. He smiled a tiny bit, too.
“I’m gonna make a chart for them and stuff. In a book,” she declared proudly, beginning to climb her way up into her mom’s lap, absolutely beaming as she did so.
“April, sweetheart, you need to wash her hands--”
“Will you help me make it? Pleasseeee? I wanna make it look cool.”
---
Casey was so tall.
Every time they got all the way up here, to the very top of the hill, up as high as they could go, she would always think, wow. This is the tallest we can get. This is so tall.
And then every time, her dad would pick her up and put her on his shoulders, and then she’d be even taller.
And it had only taken them three hours and forty-two minutes to get here.
“There’s not even any clouds!” Casey marveled, eyes absolutely sparkling as she leaned back slightly, clinging to her dad’s head to keep her balance. “It’s just blue!”
“Yeah, it’s a nice day, isn’t it? Perfect for hiking,” he declared, grinning. “Can you believe David said we couldn’t make it!?”
“David is WRONG!” She declared, just as loud as she possibly could, and she grinned at how her voice carried. It made her feel all shimmery. Her dad laughed.
“You wanna yell?”
“YES!” She gasped. “You do it, too! I wanna do it together!”
“Okay, okay. We’ll go on the count of three. You ready?”
“Mmm-hmmm!”
“Okay. One… Two…”
Casey took a deep breath in.
“Three!”
Throwing her head forward, her eyes shut tight and her hands balled into fists, Cassandra reached as deep into her little six-year-old chest as she could possibly reach, and she dredged up the biggest, longest, loudest howl that she could possibly conjure. It always hurt her throat a little, but it never hurt more than it felt good. It made her entire body vibrate. And her dad was screaming, too, holding onto her hands with his own big ones, the two of them harmonizing together as they screamed out into the woods from the top of the hill, their voices echoing out into the sky.
She kept going until there was no more left in her, running out of air entirely and left with just shaking, heaving breaths, her shoulders trembling as she panted.
And for a second, both of them were both quiet. And then finally, her dad chuckled, tossing his shoulders a few times to jostle her slightly.
“One of these days, you’re gonna shatter my eardrums, sunshine. I hope you know that,” he laughed, and Casey just grinned, hanging onto him.
“I like yelling,” she hummed.
And for a bit longer, it was quiet again.
Just the two of them on the top of the world.
And then Dad’s cellphone began to ring.
Casey paused, frowning slightly as she watched her father fish the device from his pocket, glancing at the screen and scoffing in such a way that Casey already knew who was on the line.
“Damn. Too bad we still have service up here, huh?” He tsked, and Casey frowned.
“Don’t be mean to mommy,” she muttered petulantly. “I don’t like it.”
“Sorry, Casey. My bad,” he sighed, crouching down so he could ease her down off his shoulders and back onto her own two feet. “Here. Just gimme two seconds to talk to her, okay?”
“Can I talk to her when you’re done?” She asked, and Dad hesitated.
“Uh, maybe! Lemme just talk to her real quick first and see what she wants. I promise it’ll be fast. Here, hang on. You can time me, okay?” He said, returning the stopwatch back to her hands. “Think you can do that?”
“Yeah…”
“Good girl. I’ll be right back,” Dad said, offering her one last crooked smile before turning away, looping off a few paces before finally picking up his phone.
“Hello?”
“Yeah?--”
“Yeah, I know.”
“No, we just went up hiking--”
“I know that, but it’s just one day. Yeah, I know that… I’m going to!”
“She loves it up here!”
“I will, just-- Could you please just listen to me?-- No, I didn’t--”
Casey frowned. She settled down to sit in the grass and hit the ‘start’ button on the stopwatch.

Word Count: 2178 ☆ Fandom: rottmnt ☆ Warnings: a brief mention of throwing up, nothing else i can think of ^^ ☆ AO3 Link: N/A
Tumblr media
Raph has had his bad mornings. He had been sick from overworking too. With how he felt today, he could tell it was a mix of both.

Except it turned out there was more than that. It must be, or else why would a clone of himself stare at him like that?

Raph yelped as he fell from the bed. "What the-?!"

His copy didn't seem to care. It lay on his bed, not even looking at Raph. The turtle blinked in confusion. That was definitely his own ninpo copy. Why was it here, and why was it moving like that? Raph tried to focus and control it, just like he always did, but he failed. The copy still lay on the bed.

He stared at him. Raph was too tired for that, not to mention how early it was-

 "AH-"

 Raph turned around. "Leo?"

There was nobody else in his room though.

"Is this some sort of joke?" Raph grunted. "If so, Raph's going back to bed and leavin' you to deal with today's plans alone. All day."

 "RAPH NO-"

He turned around again, looking everywhere searching for his brother. Again, nothing.

"I am really not in the mood for pranks-"

Suddenly Leo appeared in front of him, "RAPH HELP I-" and disappeared.

Raph looked at the empty spot where a second ago his brother stood. First his own copy, now Leo. What was going on?

 "RAAAAAPH!!"

Raph groaned, “WHAT IS IT DONNIE?”

“WHAT THE HECK ARE YOUR COPIES DOING?!”

His copies? Raph glanced at his copy on his bed before leaving his room and heading to the living room. He had many ideas, most of them nonsense considering his tired and hazy mind. But nothing could’ve prepared him for this:

Many copies of himself running around, accidentally breaking some stuff, some sitting in random places... Donnie was standing at the other entrance, looking tired and angry. Pissed off even.

He noticed Raph looking. “Dear brother, may you explain what is going on during such an early hour that you have decided bring out a whole army of yous?”

“It is not me...” Raph mumbled as he walked towards Donnie, not being able to look away from the chaos going on in the room.

“They are your copies though. Can’t you control them?” Donnie pointed out. “Genuinely asking. I am too tired to be salty.”

“I tried but it is not working.” Raph tried again, failing. Then gave his full attention to Donnie, “You are tired too?”

“I suspect I have caught a cold.” He nodded.

“Me too. I’ve been feeling down since I woke up.”

“Groan. It better not be some sort of illness.” Donnie said.

“As long as it is not rat flu, it will be okay.” Raph reassured.

Donnie shuddered. “Rat flu. Let’s forget about the failure and move on to our current problem.”

 “Cold or them?” Raph asked.

“...” Donnie stared at nothing before answering. A usual sign of Donnie being sick. “Yes.”

“Okay, okay. Sickness. Leo has the most knowledge about this.” Raph said out loud. “I’ll go and ask him.”

“Mhm.” Donnie had already begun walking towards the kitchen.

Raph started walking towards Leo’s room, ignoring the messy hallway. Since when did they have all that stuff and who was responsible for this mess? Probably his clones... When he reached to the room, “Leo?” he called. He received no reply. Raph didn’t bother asking again. He walked in, not caring about Leo’s upcoming protests. Except there was none because Leo wasn’t in there. “What?..”

Oh. Right, he had seen Leo for a second in his room for a second. He had appeared and disappeared as if teleporting. But Raph didn’t remember seeing his katanas. He glanced around and saw the swords near his bed on the ground. He was right.

What did this mean?.. What was going on this morning?? Raph began getting annoyed with whatever was going on. Not to mention how anxious he started feeling not finding Leo in his room. Where was he?

Maybe he was with Mikey. Maybe they were doing some stupid prank.

Raph a bit faster from before left the room and began walking towards Mikey’s room. Normally Mikey would be up, making breakfast. But if he and Donnie were right, he should be in his room resting. As he stepped into Mikey’s room, he hopped to see him and Leo doing some sort of mischief.

Instead, he found Mikey levitating, golden chains around him, asleep.

 “What the shell?!”

Mikey yawned, blinking. “Mmmmmorning Raphie!” He smiled, being the morning person he was. “Is there any possibility you let me sleep a bit more?”

 “Mikey, you are flying.”

 “What?”

 “Look around, Mike.”

Mikey did. In a second his expression shifted from confused to shocked to excited to panicked. “I AM FLYING!”

“THAT’S WHAT I AM SAYING!” Raph yelled. “GET BACK TO THE GROUND NOW.”

 “I DON’T KNOW HOW TO!”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON’T KNOW?!”

“Boys, what is all this yelling for?..” Raph heard Splinter’s voice come from behind. Then he heard a gasp. “ORANGE WHY ARE YOU LEVIATING?”

“I have no idea.” Mikey answered. He noticed the chains around him, “Oooh I also have no idea what these are but cool.”

Raph took a deep breath. “Okay. Okay. First things first. Pops, have you seen Leo?”

“Uh- no. No, I haven’t.” Splinter turned his attention to Raph, less surprised and more worried.

 “Mikey, did you see him?”

 “Nope!”

So Leo was lost. Don’t panic Raph. He is probably somewhere around here, he thought. “I’ll text April.”

 “Red, is everythin—”

Suddenly, just like how it happened in Raph’s room, Leo appeared in the room. He looked very puzzled, tired, annoyed, and a bit panicked. Before Raph could be sure, Leo disappeared again.

His voice, however, was heard from another room. “COME ON!!”

And then from another room, they heard him again. Raph couldn’t make up the words but he sounded irritated.

 “Was that Leo?” Mikey asked.

“Yes.” Raph answered, still very confused.

 “Where did he go?”

 “I don’t know.”

“Boys, what is going on?” Splinter sounded serious.

Raph sadly didn’t have a proper answer. “That’s what I am trying to figure out.” He sighed. “Can you check Donnie? He is in the kitchen and said that he felt sick too.”

“I will be waiting you two there.” Splinter nodded. “I’ll look around for Blue on the way.”
 “CAN SOMEONE—”

Leo’s voice came from his room.

 “—HELP ME—”

 This time from somewhere closer.

“I think I can handle him.” Raph said.

Splinter smiled, “I’ll make you chicken soup.”

 “Thanks Dad.”

As Splinter left, Raph reached for Mikey. Grabbing his blanket, he pulled him closer to him. Mikey watched him with sleepy eyes. “Raphie, can we sleep more?”

“No, Big Man. We need to help Leo first, and then we need to eat something.” Raph said softly, walking out of the room meanwhile. Mikey huffed but didn’t protest. Raph decided to find Leo following his voice: “Leo? Where are you?”

“RAPH! Bathroom—” Suddenly his voice was cut. Then continued from somewhere else, “Never mind. I-” Another pause. The Leo calmly yelled, “I’ll go insane.”

 “What’s happening?” Raph shouted.

“I keep teleported-” “-without wanting-” “-to every second.”

 “That sounds bad.”

“You don’t say-” “DONNIE IS THA-” “THAT WAS MY MUG!!”

At least Leo didn't teleport out of the lair.

"I think we should call Draxum." Mikey hummed, somehow unbothered.

"Wha- why?" Splinter's reaction hadn't changed even after everything.

"He knows about mystic stuff." Mikey said lazily. It reminded Raph of how he was when he had eaten one of the poisoned pizza puffs.

"You think this is because of a mystic problem?" Raph asked.

"I know it is because of a mystic problem." Mikey confirmed.

 "How?"

 "Can't you feel it? Hm?"

Raph wasn't sure what he was supposed to feel. Donnie leaned towards them, goggles on his eyes. "He is right. There is something wrong with our mystic energies."

 "I'm calling Draxum." Raph announced.

"Already on it." Donnie interrupted. He, from out of nowhere, had found his phone and was calling the yokai.

"Please tell me you're solving this." Leo appeared next to Raph, not looking good.

 "We're calling Draxum." Mikey smiled.

 "Oh good, because I- hrk-"

Luckily before he could throw up, he disappeared.

"We need you here. No, we didn't put the world in danger. We aren't dying either. No, we aren't calling you so you can cook us your new abomination. Abomination as a strange creature made of food, i.e. Sloppy Joseph. No, I'm not talking about your food. Yes. There's a problem with our ninpo. Okay, goodbye." Donnie put the phone on the table. "He'll be here soon."

"Good… Donnie, what's that?" Raph pointed at the tech that wasn't on the table a second ago.

"Ah. A piece for my new project. Why?"

"When did you bring it here?"

 "...I didn't."

"What do you mean I didn't?"

Donnie raised a brow. "I didn't bring it here. I was thinking about it and it appeared."

 "Appeared?"

 Donnie shrugged.

"Since when do things appear when you think of them, Dee?" Raph questioned.

"That's a talent of mine, dear Raphael. My ninpo is very unique in comparison to yours–" Donnie began explaining.

"Since when do they appear without you controlling them?" Raph corrected his own question.

"Ah. Yes, that would be… since last night."

"And you didn't think of telling us?" Raph was losing his patience, to be honest.

"I didn't think it would be a problem." Donnie admitted.

Raph wanted to break the table. "You thought it wouldn't be a problem." He repeated. "And what if you accidentally create something deadly?"

"Come on Raph, he creates something deadly all the time." Mikey chimed in. "Like pipe bombs."

"Mikey, don't!" But Raph was too late. A pipe bomb was formed next to Donnie's mug.

"None of us is dumb enough to use a pipe bomb, we will be fine." Donnie stated. Then took a sip from his tea.

Raph wasn't sure about that. He trusted his brothers, but he also knew how much of a trouble they could be.

Leo appeared among them again. "Dee, I'd suggest you not enter your lab." He said tiredly.

"Nardo, what did you do to my lab?" Donnie looked at him with a mixture of horror and anger.

"Adiós." He made a peace sign and disappeared again.

Donnie immediately opened his phone to check the cameras inside his laboratory. Raph could see the fury in his eyes. Maybe Leo was lucky to be teleported every second, now that he got on Donnie's hit list.

Splinter put bowls of chicken soup in front of them, "You boys look terrible."

 "Thanks." Raph sighed.

"You'll feel much better after my delicious soup." He said. "Now, only if Blue could join us…"

The soup was warm and smelled delicious. Raph couldn't wait to taste it. He would already, if he hadn't noticed his copy coming in. Ninpo Raph walked towards them, stood by them, then took the pipe bomb and ran.

"What the-?! HEY STOP!" Raph got up and ran after him, leaving Mikey to float again.

He chased his clone back to the living room, but it was hard to catch yourself. Especially in a room full of yourself. He stopped, trying to find which one was the right clone. When he did, he was leaving towards the bathroom. Raph didn't waste time following him. Before he reached him though, someone made his copy trip and fell.

"This yours, Boss Man?" Leo asked.

"Yep." And with a punch, poof the copy disappeared. "Thanks."

"Save me some soup." Leo said before getting teleported again.

"I will." Raph sighed, taking the pipe bomb from the ground. He could hide it in his room for now. Then go back and drink some soup so he can focus on the situation better when Draxum arrives. Perfect plan.

He quickly walked to his room, found a nice place to hide it, and proceeded to grab his mask and stuff. Then he remembered the transceivers Donnie had put on their gear. They could use this to communicate with Leo! If only Leo can stand in a place for a moment. Raph still thought it was worth a try, so he went to Leo’s room to get his stuff as well before returning to the kitchen.

Donnie had dozed off on the table with a few weapons and tech things that Raph didn’t know their names around him. Mikey was still floating, also sleeping. He seemed to be fine though. Splinter was enjoying his own bowl of soup. Raph sat down and finally tasted the soup. It was delicious, as always, even though it wasn’t warm anymore.

“Did you boys mess up with somebody evil again?” Splinter asked Raph.

“No, we were training and patroling the past few days.” He answered. “That’s what I don’t understand too.”

 “Hmm...”

“Don’t worry, Pops. I am sure it is something Draxum can explain. Then we can fix it all at once and then rest.”

10 for Rise. Gimme warcrimes duo >:]
Donnie didn't realize just how much Witchtown hated him until he wound up in front of the majority of the town at Hidden City court.
Witches of all kinds shouted over each other, listing crimes that Donnie most definitely had NOT committed.
"--trampled my mushrooms!"
"--released the kraken into our town fountain!"
"--totally demolished my self esteem!"
"--ATE MY CAT!!!"
"-- and destroyed the statue of our great founder!"
Okay that one he actually had done. In his defense, he hadn't meant to blast it with his tech bo. Defense, however, was something he was missing.
He glanced over at the judge. "I don't know how Hidden City trials work but isn't there supposed to be someone on my side? I mean, ahem, with my superb knowledge of everything I could absolutely provide my own defense but, uhm..." I don't really want to do this all on my own, he finished in his head.
All of Donnie's knowledge of courtroom proceedings came from a show he and Raph used to watch together. Raph loved watching the good guys solve crimes and fight bad guys. Donnie loved the mysteries and collection of evidence. Neither of them found the legal stuff super interesting, so they'd discussed the real life logistics of the crime (whether Donnie could commit it, whether Raph could catch him, and how they'd avoid getting caught) during those scenes. Donnie wished he'd payed more attention.
The doors flew open with a BANG.
"PURPLE TURTLE!" Casey Jones yelled. "I AM HERE TO PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE!"
Donnie blinked.
The jury all looked at each other like she'd made a brilliant point, muttering and nodding along.
The judge stroked his beard. "Good entrance. One point to the defense."
There were very few times that Donnie didn't have at least SOME idea of what was happening. Now was, unfortunately, one of those times.
Casey seemed to appear right next to him. "SO! Got yourself in trouble with Witchtown, eh?"
Flustered, Donnie could only think to say, "I didn't do it! Their accusations are entirely--"
"HEY! That's MY job!" She cleared her throat. "As I was saying, Witchtown is tough, but I'm tougher! You're lucky I took this case, otherwise you would already be rotting in Hidden City prison."
"I-- Casey why are you a lawyer in the Hidden City?" Things were spiraling entirely out of control.
Casey grinned her insane grin. "I love yelling, fighting, arguing, squabbling, debating, etc. Passing the exam was super easy, too! The laws here aren't any more complicated than the Foot Clan laws. You know, normally I'm on the offensive. But I am Hamato Clan now! I WILL NOT BETRAY MY CLAN!"
Donnie couldn't help but be impressed. "Huh. What a strangely fitting career choice for you."
"INDEED! And the lawyer to politician pipeline is extremely fast. I shall build my way up to becoming a mayor, senator, and eventually I shall be the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! Junior has already signed on to be my vice president. Our slogan is either going to be: 'Jones and Jones: we'll feast on your bones' OR 'Vote Jones squared and your lives will be spared'. Catchy right?"
Donnie's mind was already buzzing with how his Genius Built brand could be expanded by personally knowing the president. "Casey," he said, putting a hand on her shoulder, "I will personally help fund your presidential campaign."
"Excellent! Now, we are in the middle of court so we can discuss that later."
"Oh yeah." Donnie had actually forgotten that he was literally on trial. Casey has the effect of being extremely distracting. "I need to tell you my alibi and--"
"Pffft, no need. What kind of court do you think this is?" Casey cracked her neck, and stretched her arms above her head.
The judge banged his gavel, which sent a shockwave across the room. The ground rumbled and the seats all slid back to open up a wide space in front of the stand. "We are now in session. Let prosecutor Gilby Gilbert of Witchtown and defendant Casey Jones of the Hamato Clan enter the ring."
The what?!
Gilby Gilbert, whom Donnie vaguely recognized from the Witchtown episode leapt into the ring. "That turtle is GUILTY!"
With a running leap, Casey Jones flipped into the ring and kicked him squarely in the chest. "Mr Hamato is more innocent than you and your corrupted, black market, embezzling town will ever be!"
The jury gasped.
"Flair, solid hit, AND a plot twist! Three more points to the defense!" the judge ruled.
Donnie was now very glad he had not been the one to plead (punch?) his own case.
"Turtle boy is against everything we stand for!" Gilby choked from inside a headlock.
"Since your treasury records show illegal trade with criminals AND many Witchtown officials who have been pocketing those funds, I'd say it's a good thing that Mr Hamato stands against you, you LOWLIFE!" Casey released the headlock, only to kick her opponent to the ground and curb stomp him.
Donnie was no longer worried.
In fact, as he watched Casey continue to kick Gilby (who had curled into a ball), he actually smiled. Perhaps the answer to science vs magic was brute force.
He had decided that when this trial was over and he and Casey had officially won, he was going to make her a fashionable Genius Built lawyer suit. He'd make it easily torn away to give her more points in style.
It was the least he could do.

all of a sudden
Summary: Casey Jones is good at adapting, but he didn't expect to be adapting to mutating
Warnings: body modification, small panic attack, angst in general, check Ao3 port for full tags
Authors Note: inspired by the possum Casey Jones AU made by @probably-not-a-rutabaga except with some rasey vibes that can be ignored if thats not your style. anyways, hope ya'll enjoy and if you do consider dropping a reblog or checking the ao3 port
Tumblr media
It's covered in fur and has claws instead of nails, it's hissing as the mutagen worms through it's body and then it's dropping.
It isn't Casey Jones anymore, something much more creature. Chest heaving up and down and furred body immobile, hockey gear still strapped to it's form. Raphael just stares, in shock, in awe, partially paralyzed by the fear and the worry.
His partner in everything just mutated, into a rat, or something very rat like. And Raphael didn't take the hit, he should've, he probably would've went mad or turned to a primordial ooze of some sort if he did but it would be better than Casey having this fate. He slams the final Kraang against a wall before hoisting up Casey's body, it's light, lanky, mammalian.
Donnie can fix him.
-/-/-/-
"What happened?!" Was Donatello's first response to seeing Casey, "Who the fuck is this and where's Casey?"
"That is Casey," Raphael supplied.
Donatello nearly faints.
"Fix him," Fingers trace over the expanse of almost matted fur where the jacket does't cover anymore. He feels this deepseated guilt as he looks at Casey, he could've stopped this, he could've taken the hit. He should've been the one to get hit with that mutagen blast, not Casey.
"I don't think I can, I'll try but I think it's hopeless," Donatello claimed rather boldly, "I can probably stabilize him enough to keep his humanity-"
"Then do that, just don't lose him," Raphael practically begged, "Please."
-/-/-/-
There's the sound of someone shrieking followed by a shatter that draws Raphael from his state of almost there but not quite. He's quick to glance over to Donatello's lab to find a rat rushing out and freaking out. Terror is apparent on it's face as it glances around frantically in search of something to look at it's reflection.
"Casey,"
It whips it's head around to look at Raphael and it's absolutely Casey Jones, just in a different body. Taller, thinner, furrier, but it's still Casey, panic and fear, but all Casey. The turtle slowly walks over, as if he'll spook the possum if he goes too fast and he probably will.
"Raph," It speaks softly, quietly, voice cracking. Then it's leaned against it's partners plastron, holding on tight and crying. It's so confused, so lost, so wrong, "What happened to me?"
Raphael doesn't answer right away, just holds onto Casey and doesn't let go. A snout is nuzzled against his neck and they were the same height once, not anymore. He rubs circles onto the possums back, "Mutagen."
"Oh god," is all Casey can supply in response to the new knowledge, body shaking even more, "I'm not human, I'm not-"
"Yes, you are. You're Casey Jones, I promise," Raphael answered with before Casey could spiral, "You're still my partner, still our best friend, still Casey Jones."
There's a weak nod even though Casey doesn't believe a word coming out of Raphael's mouth, "Okay."
-/-/-/-
Casey Jones is an opossum, almost a rat but not quite, and he has an eternal vendetta against the Kraang. He lives in a sewer because of them, he's an animal because of them, he lost his sister because of them. Everything out there is gone because of them and he could do nothing but sulk in the sewers over his new body.
And now he's out in a farmhouse, naught but an animal and he swears he's losing his grasp on humanity a little bit more everyday. But he digs his claws in and tries not to let go because he's got the turtles, a group of four that were never human in the first place but have treated him so much better than any human ever has. If they learned humanity from a rat then he can hold onto what he already knows for his sake and their sake alike.
Hockey stick against sai every single day. Baseball bat against bo staff every single day. Fists against nunchaku every single day. He holds onto that humanity by working out the animal in violence whenever he can. He burned the scare crow mutant to a crisp when no one was looking, he grabbed his lighter and lit it up before anyone could say a thing. Before it could hurt anyone else.
He eats meat and steals scraps off of every one's plate because he's still getting used to the needing to eat every couple hours thing in smaller portions. He sleeps in the morning and wakes at noon, training every hour he's active because what else is there to do aside from chat and play shitty board games.
"Hey, Case," Raphael begins as he watches his partner eviscerate a raw slab of meat on a once white porcelain plate.
The possum snaps up and his pupils are slit, he has blood smattered on his snout and stuck in his fur, dripping from his whiskers. He just stares and chews before swallowing, "Yeah?"
"Do you want some water?" Raphael gently nudges over a glass and Casey is quick to grab it with bloodied paws, he drinks it eagerly.
"Thanks, still getting used to this," He gestures vaguely to himself, "And the meat cravings, and the sleep schedule."
"I know, just try to ease up on the craze, I think you scare Mikey sometimes," Raphael said.
Casey shrugged, "Oops, that's why we eat in the kitchen instead of out there with everyone else."
Raphael just rolled his eyes and took another bite of his pizza, "We'll go out and train after this, work out some of your energy."
"Fucking wicked," Casey answered with.
-/-/-/-
This is the closest Casey Jones will ever get to feeling like himself ever again.
Tip of the sai to his throat and all he does is smile because this is home.
Hockey stick to the back of his partners knees and all he does is smile because this is home.
Cruel words spat and all he does is smile because this is home.
Raphael pierces the tip of his sai into Casey's arm just to draw blood, just to feel pain, to understand what keeps him human.
And Casey Jones has one thing to say in response to the violence.
"Thank you,"

[“You’re the worst type of distraction, you know?” ]
Matt was probably the most supportive boyfriend you had ever had. He’s had your back since your first day at 51. He wasn’t a lieutenant yet but he still had enough pull at the house that he was able to get some asshole off your back in the first hour.
And since then he’s been at your side. You were a paramedic, so it wasn’t like the crush that had grown between you two was against the rules. And you didn’t even get together for… a while. For lack of a better word. But once you guys were, it was the strongest bond anyone had seen.
Nothing but loyalty, trust and support. Especially now. You’d had enough of being a paramedic. Not knowing what happened to patients after you brought them in. Not being able to use the copious amount of medical knowledge you had in the field. All of it was so frustrating.
So you decided to go to actual medical school. Which was going well. No you weren’t the top of your class but you were pretty high in the ranks. Half of the younger students ignored the embarrassment they put on themselves to ask for your help, knowing that as a paramedic you must have known a fair amount of stuff.
Which you did. But that wasn’t without the excessive cramming you did in between shifts. Like right now. Matt had been asleep for a few hours by now, expecting you to join him by the time it hit midnight.
It was 2:30 in the morning now.
And even though you knew you should go to bed, you couldn’t. Not when you still didn’t know what the hell to look for on an MRI. “Baby, why are you still awake?” Matt’s groggy voice was followed by the scuffle of his feet across the floor, making their way down the hallway.
You glanced over at him, a pen tucked behind your ear and hair tied up loosely. It was neat before but strands were slowly falling out of it the more you tilted and turned your head. His voice made you jump slightly, eyes too focused on some highlighted words in your textbook.
“Huh?” He sat on the couch behind you, gesturing to the skewed papers. “Oh, studying. Go back to sleep,” You gave him a soft smile, feeling his arms go around your shoulders, pulling you towards him.
Matt placed a kiss to the top of your head, “Come to bed with me,” He muttered, his hands sliding down your arms to push a different pen from your hand, grabbing it in his. You laughed softly, feeling him kiss from your cheek to your jaw.
Lightly you hummed, giving way to him, “You are the worst type of distraction you know that?” You muttered, twisting your hand to hold his. Matt nodded faintly, leaning more to kiss your shoulder.
“I know, so let me distract you more, in bed, and you can pick this back up tomorrow. When you’re more rested, and relaxed,” He slid his other hand over your shoulder, squeezing softly. It was damn near impossible to say no to him. Actually, completely impossible.
Matt was addicting. His touch, his words. Everything. He always has been. The first kiss you ever had sparked something deep inside you and since then it was like you were insatiable when it came to him.
Being at work was hard enough to control yourself, and his office only went uninterrupted for so long before someone knocked on his door so quickies were nearly off the table. Nearly. But at home, and when he was lazily kissing at your neck like he was now?
How could you even imagine declining his sweet offer?
You shifted onto your knees, turning to face him, pressing your lips to his. Matt’s hands abandoned yours, instead swooping around your waist, gently holding onto you. “That a yes?” He questioned smugly, already knowing the answer. He was well aware of the pull he had over you.
It was balanced perfectly, your presence having the same effect on the lieutenant as he on you. You hummed softly, pushing yourself up and off the floor, not without leaning forward to give him another firm kiss.
Moments like this made you thankful he was the type to only sleep in pajama pants, his chest bare for you to run your hands over. “Mhm,” Now impatient, you grabbed his hand, pulling him up, feeling him bump into your back as he followed you back into your bedroom, textbook and studies at the back of your mind.
You turned back to him the second you heard the door click behind you, hands finding the back of his neck to pull him into a kiss. Any sleepiness that was in his body when he woke up was now gone, completely replaced with you, your lips and your body.
“You can’t just,” You firmly kissed him, “Come out there,” Another kiss. “And distract me.” And another. Slipping words in between them. Matt’s hands on your hips pulling you closer.
He reciprocated each kiss, his tongue fighting to slip into your mouth each time, slowly he pulled away, not caring about the line of spit that connected your mouths. “Seems I can though, doesn’t it?” His cocky words driven by the horniness that was clouding his mind, the ever growing bulge in his pants pushing the sarcastic side out of him.
Usually you were able to wrangle him in, get things done but when he started talking back? That’s when you knew to just let him do his thing. Cause damn was he good at it. “Is that so Lieutenant Casey?” You ticked an eyebrow up, overly softly gazing up at the blonde man.
Matt nodded, your tone catching his breath, “Mhm,” He nudged you back, slowly getting you to the end of the bed. “Cause look where you are,” His lips pressed to the bottom of your neck, “With,” Matt nipped right below your ear, “Me.” His breath sent a chill down your spine.
You closed your eyes, tilting your head to the side, letting the man kiss back down your neck. His hands slid up your sides, under your shirt and pulled it off. Matt turned you, sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling you onto his lap.
Slowly your hands went over his shoulders, wrapping your legs around his waist. His arms wrapped around you, leaning up to catch your lips again, pulling you into a deep kiss. It was slow but heated, all of the lust and passion wrapped into each twist of your lips together.
Each brush of your tongue against his made him grow more and more, grinding his hips up into yours. “You can take my clothes off you know,” You muttered into the break he took to catch his breath. Matt’s eyes found yours, loosening the grip on you to lean back onto his palms.
“Or you can do it for me,” He mumbled, eyes dragging across your bare chest and the pajama pants you had put on hours ago. Your cheeks burned as you lifted from his lap, making a show of pushing them off, going to return to your spot when he held his hand out in expectancy.
You tilted your head slightly, Matt raising his eyebrows at the floral underwear you still wore. Oh. With a slight smirk you pulled them off, tossing them to the side, accepting Matt’s grasp as he brought you back towards him.
“That’s my baby girl,” He muttered, his hand going to your hair while his other gripped your hip, rocking up against you. Lightly you moaned, head leaning back as he did it again. His bulge rubbed right against your clit, making you pull your lip between your teeth.
Matt wanted you to beg. You knew that and you wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of it. So instead, you leaned forward, kissing along his collarbone. Aka his hot spot that always, always did the job in getting you what you want.
And it did. As you sucked a mark into the spot just above his collarbone he stood, his arms tightly around you before he gently placed you on the bed, standing back up to pull the rest of his clothes off. In seconds he was back over you, his hand on your cheek.
“You want me to get you ready or do you think you can handle it?” Matt asked softly, his other palm pressing over your chest sensibly, just lightly running his thumb over your nipple as he spoke. You couldn’t wait any longer than you already were so, even though you weren’t sure you could, you nodded.
“I can handle it,” You put a hand on the side of his neck, holding onto him as he nodded, slotting himself between your legs.
Even when you’d done this million times, the warmth of Matt’s skin always made you twist and turn, the anticipation of feeling him grew like a hot air balloon in your stomach. “Okay, tell me to stop if it hurts too much.” Even in his lust filled mindset his first thought was always you.
No matter what, Matt did what he could to make sure you were having as good of a time as he was. So his eyes trained on your face as he pushed in, soothingly running his thumb across your cheek as your face screwed up.
Matt wasn’t big by most means but he was big enough to stretch you out, sending a burning sensation through your thighs every time he entered you. The pain never lasted long, usually subsiding within the first few seconds. But that was also after he’d already fingered you.
This was probably the first time he went in without the foreplay and honestly, you might have regretted it a smidge but the second the pain subsided the doubt went out the window and a moan left your lips.
“You alright?” He asked softly, yet to move his hips.
“Mhm,” As soon as you nodded Matt pulled back, slowly rolling his hips back into you. Your eyes were still squeezed shut but as your body loosened, he continued to move. With Matt it was always, well, at least usually, sensual. He liked taking his time.
Liked moving that one way that had your toes curling as you tightened your legs around him. And this was no different. Strategically he thrust into you. His hands grabbed your hips, pulling them as close as he could get as he leaned down to kiss you.
His lips always felt amazing, even more so when he was deep in you and hitting every spot perfectly. It was like his kisses could coax an orgasm out of you the same way his tongue around your clit could.
Something about Matthew Casey was just so perfect that he molded perfectly to you every time, every night. Your hands grasping his face tightly pushed his movements to grow faster, losing himself in the heat of your body, wet skin slapping together roughly as each moan went right to where you two were connected.
“God I love you,” He muttered roughly into your ear before biting at your lobe, his eyes fluttering shut. Matt was trying his hardest not to cum yet, making sure you were first was also something he always did. Very gentlemanly, of course.
Your head went back as he spoke, your eyes darting across his blissed out face. “I love you,” All of your emotions managed to come out when you were together, and this was no different. The serotonin or dopamine or whatever it was that spilled into your brain was always met with Matt’s touch and love.
Matt’s hand slid between your legs, slowly rubbing at your clit the opposite of his thrusts, relishing in the way his name slid off your tongue at the newly added sensation. “I love you so much. My girl,” He spoke, knowing his loving words and tone always made your stomach pull into knots. “Gonna be with me forever, hm? Always with me. Gonna get married,” His fingers sped up slightly as you gazed up at him, eyes locking.
“Gonna have my babies. Have a family. Always going to be mine, huh princess?” His last couple of thrusts sent you overboard, eyes failing to stay on his as they squeezed shut, backing lifting off the bed as you saw stars.
Matt took the opportunity to wrap his other arm around you, fingers slowing until they stopped, allowing himself to focus on working you through your own high and finally releasing inside of you. His chest rose and fell quickly, gently pulling himself out and off of you as your hand trailed up his arm and to his face.
“You better make good on those promises.” You muttered, stroking a thumb across his face. Matt tilted his head slightly, mind clouded by his orgasm, all he could think about was you.
Softly he hummed and you smiled softly, keeping your eyes on him. “Marrying me.” He leaned down, catching your lips in his once more, slowly moving against them.
"I plan to."

"I won't be gone long," Casey promised. "It's only a few things."
"Still, it's your first time buying groceries alone," Leo mumbled, the tap tap tap of his crutch echoing against the floor. He didn't always need it, but some days were harder than others. "I could go with --"
"No," Casey interrupted him, holding a hand up and stopping Leo in his tracks. "If I'm ever going to figure out how to live in this time period, then I need to learn to do these things on my own."
"Sheesh, alright!" Leo joked. "And don't say 'time period', this isn't the Victorian era! It's only what, 20-plus years into the past? Time period. Woof! You make it sound like we're ancient wizards or something..."
Casey laughed at the idea. The only one he could truly call a 'wizard' was Mikey, but he hadn't really gotten to that stage just yet. Mage, yes. Wizard? Maaaaybe in a few months, if he kept up the training with Draxum.
Casey and Leo went over the list one more time, adding one or two last-minute items that Leo suddenly thought of as they made their way to the exit. Casey stuffed the list into his pants before shoving a large and slightly oversized jacket over himself, struggling slightly with the arms.
"Don't forget your hat and earmuffs," Raph reminded him as he walked past. "It's really cold out today."
"Gotchya," Casey nodded, handling the earmuffs like they're some new and exotic species. "We didn't really have cold weather in the future..."
"Really?" Leo asked, his head tilting to the side. "What were winters like?"
"I dunno, like 60 degrees at the lowest?" he shrugged. "What with all the planetary devastation and laser blasts and global warming... weather became sorta nonexistent."
Raphael shuddered at the thought of such a thing. No weather meant no rain, no snow, maybe even no real wind or cloudy days.
"Well, try to be home soon okay? I think there's a call for heavy snow later."
"Sure thing," Casey replied, half-paying attention to Raph as he walked out the door. After all, this is the past, and everyone has it so cushy! There's nothing dangerous here except for idiot muggers and a few mutants. What could possibly go wrong?
"And don't forget the mittens!" Raph called after him. Casey walked back into the lair, retrieved his gloves, and then walked back out.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Casey Jones Jr was starting to really like New York City, circa 2020. It was a different kind of hectic, but Casey had lived his entire life in chaos.
Instead of dodging missiles, he was dodging taxi cabs.
Instead of wild krang dogs, there were people walking a dozen angry chihuahuas and poodles and dobermans to earn money.
Instead of corpses laid to waste on the ground, there were a few homeless people sleeping in cardboard boxes.
Differences with small similarities.
The biggest difference was the turtles. Sensei Leonardo was no longer a tall and hulking king of the apocalypse with a robot arm who took no slack from anyone or anything -- he was now an ego-stripped teenager with a knee that had been so twisted up that it counted as a physical condition and they could qualify for disabled parking with the tank. Master Michelangelo was no longer someone who looked older than time and could create lavish magic spells with a flip of his hand, but an untrained child with an unbridled adoration for drawing and reality cooking shows. Uncle Tello was not the cybernetic scientist in overalls with a hundred extra technological advancements, but a nerdy teenager with 'secret' plans for anarchy against the US government. Raphael... well... Casey couldn't remember Raph firsthand. There were some photographs and video recordings of him, a few stories passed down, but the big red giant had been killed in action a few years after Casey Jr was born.
But this time period -- er, the past was still nice. It was crazy how many people he recognized. Baron Draxum, Commander O'Neil, Master Splinter, Todd 'The Sasquatch' Capybara, Big Mama... Casey would just be walking down the street and he'd see a couple with a child, and he'd realize the kid was one of the medics that helped him when he'd broken his leg. He would be buying pizza and the cashier was one of Uncle Tello's tech apprentices. In the Hidden City, an octopus Yokai would offer to sell him some mystic potion and Casey would recall they were one of the cooks in the mess hall who always gave him extra portions to help him grow, even when rations were low.
Casey reached the end of memory lane when he found the grocery store he'd been looking for. He casually walked inside just as a few unnoticed flakes of white began to fall from the sky above him.
"Hello, and welcome to the Stock & Shop!" an older woman greeted. "Holler if you need anything!"
Casey nodded with a smile as he started to gather everything on the list.
Chicken soup: got it.
New batteries for the remote: donezo.
Flaming-hot chips: three bags procured.
Four different brands of soda: orange blast for Mikey, sugar-free cola for Raph, flavourless juice for Donnie, and diet blueberry bubble waters for Leo. Check.
Popcorn for movie nights: not yet.
The popcorn in question was placed on a hard-to-reach shelf high above him. Of course, this one particular brand that Mikey so desperately needed was at the very top. As Casey was reached up for the requested snack, a voice chimed in behind him.
"Better hurry, there's supposed to be a wicked snowstorm tonight!"
Casey jumped back, startled by the sudden sound. He looked down and saw a short, scrawny kid with a comparatively huge head looking up at him.
"Oh, hey. You look familiar...?"
"This is my parent's store, I work here all the time. Or maybe you've seen my videos? My channel? STOCKBOii?? Cybersleuth??"
"Stockboy? As in Baxter Stockboy?" Casey wondered, his eyes widening as the corners of his mouth turned up.
"Yeah! You've heard of me?" the child asked excitedly.
"Kind of," Casey replied, not exactly sure how to explain that Baxter had worked as one of Donatello's apprentices to create warships and mechas during the golden age of the Resistance, despite Sensei's reluctance. "I heard about the whole 'Mutant Menace' fiasco."
Baxter groaned loudly.
"Uggggh, that whole thing. My parents still won't let me leave the house unsupervised. It's ridiculous! One mass panic and riot instigation, and they turn on me! At least the judge agreed to let me work off community service in the store..."
Casey smirked just a little.
"Hmm. Anyway, you said something about a snowstorm?"
"Oh, right. The weather report says it might get up to two inches."
"What might get up to two inches?"
"Um... the snow? Look, it's started snowing already!"
Baxter Stockboy pointed out towards the front entrance. A small sprinkling of white could just barely be visible beyond the glass.
"Oh," Casey shrugged. "Doesn't look too bad."
"You say that now, but it's supposed to get below 30º Farenheit!"
"Oh. That is kinda cold," Casey agreed. "...But I'm sure it'll be okay."
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Ten minutes had passed.
Raphael received a notification from the weather app, informing that the previously predicted 'heavy snowfall' was now a full-blown snowstorm.
That probably wasn't good. But it wasn't terrible, either. Just some snow.
"Boys, it looks like tomorrow is another snow day!" he announced to the rest of the Hamatos.
From various rooms in the lair, Raph heard them shout in excitement.
"Yes!"
"Alright!"
"Snow day, hooRAY, baby!"
Raph smiled. He couldn't wait to introduce Casey to his first snowfall...
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Casey had finally gotten all the items on the list and was preparing to check-out, when an announcement went over the loudspeakers.
"Attention shoppers -- we encourage all patrons to finish up their errands, as we will be closing soon due to the weather. Thank you."
Huh. They sure were getting all riled up over this 'snow' stuff. Casey had witnessed a few storms before in the months prior, but it was never too bad. Thunderstorms were freaking terrifying, but only because they were loud and Casey's first thought was always that an air attack was happening. But he loved watching lightning. It reminded him of a few magic spells Master Michelangelo had performed on occasion...
Casey finished up the last of his errand and purchased the items. He needed a little help when trying to decide on paper or plastic, and for a moment he forgot the pin number for the card Splinter had given him, but other than that all had gone well.
He stepped out of the store, the glass doors sliding past him gracefully.
And he was greeted by a harsh blast of cold. It almost knocked him over, the icy wind biting his face so much he dropped the bags of groceries in order to cover his face with his regrettably un-mittened hands.
Okay. He was starting to see what people meant now. He hurriedly pulled his mittens on and scrambled to cover as much of his head as he could with his hat and earmuffs.
It had been cold these past few months, sure, but not like THIS! This was arctic.
And what's more, the sky was raining ash. That only ever happened when Uncle Tello sent missiles to blow the Krang vessels to kingdom come. So why was no one terrified, or hiding? Besides, there were no more Krang ships to incinerate. So then, what was...?
Casey happened to glance to the side and saw a kid sticking their tongue out. Their parents did the same. They caught a few of the flakes on the tips of their tongues, laughing as they shivered. Casey watched in wonder. He held a hand out. A single fleck of white flittered down to his palm, delicately touching down onto him, and melting upon impact with the glove. Casey was gently bewildered. He looked up at the sky. The heavens above were masked over with clouds of grey, hiding the universe from him, guarding him from the wonders he couldn't understand or comprehend. And yet, the universe deemed this wonder fit for him to comprehend?
Casey's mouth hung open as he gazed at the sky, confused. Snowflakes fell against his cheeks, his eyelashes, his lips, his chin. He stuck out his tongue and closed his eyes. It took a few minutes, but finally he felt one land and melt in his mouth.
...Underwhelming, if he was honest.
It was just water. He kind of expected a flavour.
The wind suddenly whipped against him. It had calmed for the brief moments that Casey stood there, but now was circling back in full fury. Casey gasped at the fierce chill, bundling himself up more and more before gathering the supplies and shuffling back to the lair. The wind swirling around him, the snow raining down with a vengefulness.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Twenty minutes had passed.
Raph had started to feel like he was forgetting something. He wasn't sure what, though...
Donnie had re-fortified the lair and central heating system, so now it would stay extra cozy despite the freezing temperatures outside. You could hear the wind start to roar if you went to the exterior tunnels and big exit door.
Raph remembered how in the early years when they were all teeny tiny turtle tots, Splinter had them all stay in the same room to conserve heat. He'd set up tons of heat lamps and space-warmers, bundle each one in extra-fuzzy blankets... Looking back, he could clearly see the panic that Splinter would be hiding at the idea that maybe they could all freeze to death if they weren't careful, or maybe that the power would go out when they weren't expecting it and he'd only have a few minutes to come up with a plan before hypothermia could creep in like a ghost. It was probably extra terrifying considering that they had minor cases of brumation when it got way too cold. They got better at combating it, wearing warm clothes to help stay warm. And it helped that they also had some minor mammalian DNA too, meaning that they had to be utterly and agonisingly cold for brumation to actually take effect.
Still. Raphael had mad respect for Splinter now. He'd kept his cool and kept his calm, never once displaying the fear that probably filled his mind day in and day out. Raph wished he knew how to do that...
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Was Casey even going the right way?? He couldn't tell anymore.
The downpour of snow particles was starting to get so heavy that Casey couldn't even see ten feet in front of him, even with his mask on. Constantly blinded, he relied mostly on the lights from cars or neon signs to help guide him down the sidewalk. He couldn't remember the last time something like this had happened...
Maybe... during the dust storm incident. Sensei and Casey were in a losing battle against the Krang one day and in a sheer panic, Leonardo portaled them away and into some random place far, far away. Leonardo had initially assumed it was some inhospitable desert in the middle east or something, based on how much sand and wind there was. But after a quick look at the tracking device Donatello had installed, they realized that it was actually just New Mexico. Or, what was left of it. Sensei Leonardo had sent them right smack-dab in the middle of a dust storm, where the drought-riddled land had become so dry that the wind created massive walls of dirt and dust that engulfed everything. It could suffocate you, dehydrate you, blind you, etc. The might've died if Leonardo hadn't thought quickly and found a shelter for them to hide out in. He'd dropped one of his swords during the storm, so the two were forced to wait it out. Sensei Leonardo never did find that other sword. He'd had to create a new one with his ninpo.
Anyway, this snowstorm felt like the exact opposite of the dust storm.
Rather than hot and dry, this was cold and wet. But the stabbing sensations of small things constantly flying into you was the same. The wind that threatened to carry you away was the same. The loneliness was the same.
Casey was convinced that he'd gotten turned around somehow... He wasn't sure where he was.
Forget being able to see ten feet away, he could barely see his own hands in the storm!
This was not good. Casey reached up, feeling around his mask for a specific button that would activate a distress beacon. He'd modified it so that Donnie's tech could receive the call, and hopefully it would go through. But if the storm was as severe as it felt, then it was possible that the lines would be down and the lair's internet access and phone lines wouldn't get the message.
Casey found the button. He'd have to hope that they'd get the signal.
He pressed it, and then pressed on, hoping that he could find his way home on his own...
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Thirty minutes.
The lair was starting to get terribly frigid. Raph waltzed into the kitchen, shuddering from the chill as he did, hoping that maybe Mikey would start making something hot to eat and that in turn would warm up the kitchen. He only found Leo in there, swirling a mug of hot cocoa that he'd heated up.
"Brr-rr-rr, it's cold! I thought Donnie fixed the heat?"
"He did, but it's still pretty frigid," Leo sighed. "I'm starting to get worried..."
"You think the power might go out?" Raph asked.
"No, I'm wondering where Casey is."
Casey?
OH SHOOT, CASEY.
"Raph completely forgot that Casey was out!" Raph screamed, hands flying through the air. "I thought he came back fifteen minutes ago! You mean he's still out there?!"
"Relax, it's just snowing. Not that big of a deal," Leo said as he took a long sip of cocoa from his mug.
"Leo, you do realize that Casey's never seen snow before?!" Raph reminded him. "And this ain't no ordinary gentle snowfall, this is practically a blizzard!"
Raph huffed angrily before rushing to the lair entrance. He grabbed a coat, some galoshes, a scarf, gloves, snowpants -- the whole shebang. Leo followed casually, sipping his cocoa gently as he walked after him.
"Where'ya goin'?" he asked with a smile.
"I'm goin' after Casey, of course!" Raph yelled.
"Do you know where he is?"
"I got him right here on the little tracker thingy."
Raph held out his phone to display to Leo the small signal coming in from Casey Jr's mask.
"Mhm," Leo hummed. "Okay. Well, when you get back, maybe bring home a pizza too."
"Leo, can you be serious about this?!"
"Okay, fine. When you find him, call me and I'll portal the two of you home. Okay?" Leo suggested. "No sense trudging through the cold back and forth."
"Great, thanks," Raph grumbled before running out the door, pulling his collar up to prepare for the wind and wet.
Raphael ducked out. Down the corridors, up a ladder to the top of the street. He pushed the manhole cover aside with ease. He was instantly met with a barrage of wind and ice, the snow and slush that had been atop the cover sliding down and splashing onto his face.
Raph sputtered softly, wiping his face off before heading into the fray...
⋆⁺₊⋆ ❄ ⁺₊⋆ ❄ ₊⁺ ⋆
Casey was huddled against something. A wall, a stone, a tree, a car -- he could hardly tell. It was so cold, his skin felt like it was peeling off. His eyes stung from the wind, his feet ached from the chill, his arms hurt from the cold and from carrying all the groceries with him this whole time. The straps on the plastic bags were digging into his arms, cutting off his circulation. It was so windy and loud, he couldn't hear the traffic of the city anymore. His jacket was coated in white.
He'd hoped that he could shield himself with whatever he was leaning against, but the wind came from all sides.
It was terrifying. Being alone. He hadn't felt alone like this in so long...
He remembered sitting alone, like this, long ago...
The wind whipping around, the sky dark, the battlefield torn and scarred, white flakes of ash raining down from above. It was cold that day, too. Casey couldn't be older than four years old at the time.
The ground was covered in grey and white from all the ash and cinder. Casey was covered in the powdery residue himself, his face white as a sheet, his messy and greasy hair holding in the flakes and embers from the explosion that had decimated the world around him.
But the worst was the silence that followed. Nothingness. Loneliness. Agony.
Casey started crying. Four years old, having watched the world end, having seen his mother die, and so many of her comrades, and only to be left alone and scared? Of course he was crying.
In the distance, a figure began to move. Casey gasped, trying to cover his mouth and keep silent as the looming creature lumbered towards him. The monster was huge, it must be a krang mecha or --
"Casey?"
He recognized that voice. It wasn't Sensei, but it was just as comforting.
"Casey, where you? Casey!"
The child meant to answer. But his voice was lost in his own throat.
"Casey! I see you! I'm coming, kid, I'm coming!"
Casey reached out for the Red Giant to take him home... The silhouette of his figure in the smoke and smog that surrounded them...
But as the figure stepped through the fog, it wasn't a red giant.
"Casey! There you are!! I was so worried, what happened?!"
Casey Jones Jr was taken back to the present moment, and stared at Raph in shock.
"R-Raph..?"
"Geez, Case, you look frozen solid! Are you okay?"
Casey nodded softly, getting back up on his feet as Raph gave him a hand.
"I'm fine," he whispered. "It... it, uh, started snowing."
"Yeah, I see that," Raph chuckled. "Sorry, we had no idea it would get so bad."
"It... it's okay," Casey responds quietly. "How did you find me?"
"Well the snow's dying down a bit, so it ain't as hard to see," Raph mentioned as he pointed up. Casey did notice that during his anxiety attack, the wind has calmed a bit more and the downpour of frozen particles was much gentler. "Besides, the tracker helped. Although, I am curious how you managed to get all the way into Central Park?"
"Wha-huh?" Casey gaped, turning around and examining the area.
He had been huddled against a tree trunk, and a few feet off in the distance was a playground. Ahead of him was the cityscape, behind him the rest of the wooded little area.
"Wow. I didn't realize that I came this far..."
Raph chuckled as he grabbed the groceries from the ground.
"So, you ready to get home? All I gotta do is call Leo and we can be back in the lair with some hot chocolate!"
Casey glimpsed at the park behind them. It was... actually quite lovely.
It was a magical world, sparkling and quiet. Undisturbed. Serene.
Raph noticed Casey's stare and looked back at the scene, smiling knowingly.
"It sure it pretty, ain't it?"
"...It's peace," Casey awed. "It's absolute peace. This... I've never seen anything like it before."
Raph took in a deep breath, inhaling the peace with gratitude for a world that could give you something so gorgeous after something so terrible.
"Yeah. It's really beautiful. Tell ya what, the guys can wait for a bit. Want me to show you around the Winter Wonderland for a bit?"
Casey nodded with a dumbfounded smile on his face.
The two walked out into the park together, enjoying the peace that they both had fought tooth and nail for.

Ended up writing a little over 1000 words from a little side au @reagi-df and I have been working on together. Out of context dream sequence where F!Leo, who doesn't have his memories, dreams of the doomed timeline.
Under the read more bc it got so long holy shit 😅 Anyway, enjoy! <3333 I know I did!
Hot.
The air burns his lungs as he runs, panting heavily with pain jolting through his body with every step. He looks down at something in his hand. Its blurry, a mishmash of colors, the most prominent being red, purple, orange, yellow, silver, and blue. They swirl together, mocking him in his confusion.
An explosion. The heat gets worse for a moment and his eyes flash up around him. The sky is burning. Some kind of machine, one that flys through the air, catches fire, plummeting to the ground a short distance away as people scream and flee from something that's shooting at them.
The source is unimaginable. Giant, metal beasts, eyes ablaze with a horrifying red glow. One rises to its feet, its eye glowing bright hot before some kind of beam shoots out frrom it, causing another exposion. And even if its far, the shockwave washes over him followed by more unbearable heat. It burns his skin. It burns his eyes. He's burning. He's drowning.
There's something chasing him, something he knows if it catches him, death would be a mercy.
Another stab of pain has him wincing, his hand instantly reaching down to his side along with his eyes to quickly follow. Blood. His blood. Leaking out of him at a pace that's hard to fathom. Its why his head pounds, why his vision swims.
"I got you Sensei!" a voice says, his vision shifts sideways and more red comes into his vision, stripes of color going over the person's eyes. "Stay with me-"*
He wants to ask what happened, wants to ask who they are, why are they helping him?
But he can't hear what he says. He can hear he uses his voice but he doesn't understand the words.
The red stripes move and the persons masks shifts up revealing a kid. A child. Why is a child here of all places?
The kid says something else but he still can't hear. The explosions around them making his ears ring painfully. He wants to stop. His body begs him to stop. But he knows if he stops its over. The beasts that nip at their heels will make sure of it. But he can't take it. His knees give out and he drops, dragging the kid to the ground with him. The growling at his back grows louder and he braces, ready for more pain.
But then warmth.
Not heat like everything else. This is warmth. Like the sun he hadn't felt in so long.
Golden chains encircle them, protecting them from the horrible beasts at their backs. He turns over, his heart leaping into his throat as someone, another turtle suddenly appears, burning away the evil that had been chasing them with his massive holy light. And relief fills his body. Until the pain reminds him of his position.
The kid helps him down to the ground fully, helping him lean against some of the rubble in the shadow of the ruined statue they're sheltering under. The turtle, floats over, concern written into his aged features. And looking at this other turtle hurts, seeing his age, and the world burning around him.~This isn't how it was supposed to be...
"Help him Michaelangelo , he's hurt bad. " the kid pleads, emotion bleeding into his voice. And speaking of bleeding. He looks down at the hand he's got clamped over his side. Cold and metalic and as he pulls it back, covered in blood. The crack in his plastron, more like a hole, a puncture wound of some kind. But without the prerssure he had placed onto it, the blood seeps from the crack again. He clamps his hand back against it, sucking in breath through his teeth. It hurts.
But looking out to the landscape around him. Torn apart and blazing. Those metal beasts are everywhere, burning the land they stand on, killing everything in their wake. And flying above them all....the destroyer. A star in the center of the sky that these beasts worship and it commands are absolute.
The end of the world
His mind reels. He doesn't understand. He's saying things he can't hear, and the two others look at him with different expressions. one confused, the other determined. The turtle nods. "It'll take everything I have." and with that he floats away. And for some reason, he feels like he'll never see him again.
He starts speaking to the kid, watches the emotions flicker over his face, how heart broken he seems while golden light burns a few paces away from them. He gives him something, drawn crudly on the back is a blurry picture he can't recognize. But then his hand is on the kid's shoulder, and the kid looks like he's about to cry.
"I don't wanna lose you..." The kid practically whispers.
And this time he can actually hear his own words.
"Casey...its not about me-"
He's cut off by Red.
Coating them, drowning them in its light.
Looking up, his heart stops as the beast stares down at them. And then more rise up from behind them.
He looks to the turtle. He calls to him but can't hear his name. The turtle doesn't respond, too prreoccupied with what he's doing. Ripping the air in half. With a final push of effort, the turtle succeeds, sending a wink and reassuring smile back at the pair before his body bursts into brillaint rays and flakes of golden light. Leaving a bright, gloden circle floating in the space he once stood.
It hurts.
It hurts so fucking bad.
He can't breathe. He can't think.
He doesn't have time to think.
There's more of those beasts encircling them.
And he knows he's dying. He's already lost too much blood.
But there's a kid with him. And whatever lies beyond that portal is better than this hell.
He grabs his shoulder, throwing him roughly toward the portal, sending him through alone.
And it hurts.
And then the beasts are upon him. They leap at him and he blocks, using his large prosthetic as a makeshift shield. Another tries to flank him but his sword slices through its jaw. They're coming for him. The wolves circling their injured prey.
And he's terified. He can't keep this up. They'll rip him apart. Piece by piece. Tear into his flesh and soul. Just like before.
He glances up for a second, just as he feels one of the larger metal beasts step closer.
He doesn't get the chance to take a breath.
Its just heat.
Its just red.
