TEEN IN A TIM BURTON MOVIE DIET 🦴🌫️

You wake up with one thing on your mind: going out for a walk in the woods. But you can’t. You’re a teenager who has school, and your parents would kill you if you skipped school.

It’s too early to eat anything. Pass the time playing with your cat or simply reading by the window as the sun rises.

School is so boring when all you’re craving is a nice cup of warm soup or hot chocolate prepared by your mum. Whatever, you’ll suffer in silence and snack on whatever fruits you threw into your bag this morning.✧˖°.☾

For lunch, you’ll have leftovers from yesterday. roasted/baked/boiled veggies accompanied by rice or wheat. you don’t eat it all; it’s cold, and not that nice at all… Maybe your parents packed you a sandwich instead? make sure you don’t eat the crusts, though. they’re the worst part.

If you’re lucky, you might’ve even added one of your bakes as dessert (low cal pastry/cookie), or a small yoghurt. if you didn’t, don’t fret. your parent didn’t forget to include a fruit or veggie for health.

Back home at last — not before you went on a small walk, though. your parents were worried about where you’d gone off too again, and you’re greeted by a warm broth/soup, or some more baked veggies.

you don’t finish your plate unless your walk was very tiring. you’re too eager to finish that book you started!

Once in a while, you might be allowed a piece of cake or some hot chocolate. not everyday, though. that would be bad for your teeth!

End the day with a cup of tea, reading under a warm blanket with a piece of your favourite chocolate or sweet. 🍂☕️🐈‍⬛

MEAL IDEAS I LOVE:

Chickpeas in tomato sauce with rice

Whole bread sandwich without the crust: tomato, cheese and cucumber (ham if you want, i’m vegetarian c:)

Ratatouille or Shakshuka with wheat/bulgur

Apple sauce cookies (i can share a good recipe if you want)

Pasta/zucchini gratin

Lasagna (spinach or veggies with tomato sauce - or mince, once again, i’m vegetarian)

potatoes (sweet is even better) with broccoli

Mushrooms with bread

Tomato salad (vinegar, herbs, olive oil)

Lentil/corn cakes with cream cheese

Pumpkin pie

Vegetable broth (or chicken) with vegetable dices

Potato soup

Tomato orzo soup

Mashed potatoes with lentils

Lentil soup

Beetroot (it’s so good even on it own)

REMEMBER!

You always prefer ‘halloween’ themed pastries — involving apples, pumpkin, carrots…

Eating isn’t a bother, you’re just a slow eater. don’t hesitate to share your love for sweets, while keeping consummation low.

You get tired of veggies so much! never finish a meal you don’t like.

Your favourite candy is liquorice, and most halloween themed ones like acorn or hard candy

Keep the chocolate low. it’s too heavy and nauseating!

If you must, have a piece of nutella/peanut butter and jelly toast, oats, or milk with fruits in the morning. i promise it’s much better than those ‘healthy’ alternatives (makes you satisfies and low calorie if you only have one)

No crisps — they’re too oily and dirty your books. Pop corn is so much better (and lower in cols) — caramel or pumpkin spice is a staple!

Cinnamon on apples… the best treat!

If you ever eat out with family, eat only a third of the meal and get the rest to pack. it’s so good you want to make it last!!

Bake and cook as much as you can! This will make your parents understand what you like, and not push to make you eat those gross overly fat foods.

Try to stay under 1,000 kcals, but don’t count calories obsessively. keep portions small and always leave a third of your plate.

Random things in my MHA DR about 1-A!

Mineta was originally part of the class, however during the quirk apprehension test at the start, he got the lowest score and that Aizawa noticed him acting creepy so he acted on his threat to expel someone and gave Mineta the boot. That way, it'd also serve as a warning to others.

Mineta was actually hilarious though on first day. Actually made me crack up a lot, especially since I also have a dirty sense of humor. But then he he tried to peek under Yaomomo's skirt and the illusion was shattered. (For a moment I thought he could've been great </3)

I unironically voted for Sero during the class rep elections. Him and Yaomomo had a tie and he dropped out of the nominations saying that Yaoyorozu should be the vice-representative for 1-A over him. (Sero is such a sweet soul in my DR.)

Bakugo Katsuki, despite having fashion designers for parents, only ever dresses in the most basic clothing. Black compression shirts and sweatpants are his go to and when he feels like it he sometimes wears graphic tees and jeans. But he also criticizes others a lot on their fashion sense. (He one time straight up scolded Mina for an hour because she wore a shade of yellow that didn't go with her skin tone.)

Sato, without fail, will always have a box of some type of sweets on him. Man is a god send. He brings like this little lunchbag and he has two tupperwares of sweets. One time he had these donuts and each of them were a cool new flavor I've never seen before, like a raspberry donut with candied bacon, it sounds gross but he makes it taste good somehow.

Most Sundays, Aoyama usually goes out to visit this stray kitten in a park near U.A. He feeds all the time too. He has little cat treats in his bag always. He doesn't even like cats that much, but he sees himself in the kitty. Weak and can't do anything about it (Aoyama deserves better.)

Sero makes the MEANEST avocado salads ever. Like actually godsent. It's avocados, tomatoes, red onions, bell peppers, cucumbers, cilantro, parsley, garlic, black beans, jalapeno, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and white pepper, and queso fresco all tossed together. (Yes, I memorized the recipe because I wanted to make it in my CR 😭)

Oddly enough, Koda sleeps really loudly. Like he snores, talks in his sleep, grinds his teeth, even clears his throat sometimes. He fell asleep in the common room once on a sat evening watching Princess and the Frog with Tsu and my god, everyone in the first floor could hear it, even on the second floor only it was a little more muffled.

Iida dresses wrong. Not bad, wrong. He doesn't dress ugly, in fact he's one of the most well dressed in 1-A. The issue is, he never knows what outfit for when so he either always ends up overdressed or underdressed. We went out to get groceries and he was wearing a first date outfit (He looked fine asf but like for groceries?? 😭)

I don't know how it happened but for some reason, Monoma and Yaomomo are friends. Like not frenemies or just acquaintances. Like real actual friends. They hang out sometimes and gossip with Kendo. He even tones down the 1-A hate passion canon in her presence, it's actually amazing to see.

Any other experiments Bucky tries with human Gale?

Hahaha okay, so I mentioned before that he does the square/circle on the ground experiment with positive results on human Gale:

And I also mentioned that smuggling catnip into the house got a positive result too - Gale noticed it, was obsessed with it and then so embarrassed once found out that he got angry with Bucky.

(Let's say that Bucky gets these ideas from flirting with local women by talking about their cats and his own "kitten".)

I think Bucky also tries:

1. Cucumber test

He tries to see if Gale gets jumpscared if he places a cucumber next to him, but this one fails. Gale doesn’t react at all, neither in cat, nor human form. As a human, he would give Bucky a confused look, hold up the cucumber and ask if Bucky is asking for help to make a salad.

2. Box test

Now, this one is tricky! Because Gale loves his boxes, he even has one in secret for a while. But he knows this is very cat-like behaviour and he tries to resist it if anyone, even John, is around. John pretends to be a slob and leaves empty boxes around sometimes to see what happens. Human Gale picks them up, stares at them for long minutes, then finds something to fill them with or throws them away as if they personally offended him. John never catches him, his control is too good. Alone in his secret box though:

3. Pushing things off the edge

John knows that cats like to push things off tables, windowsills etc. So, he tries this out too with Gale. He leaves fruit / a pen / cigarettes / a toothpick box close to the edge of the kitchen table and waits. Each time, human Gale reaches for these objects immediately and starts absent-mindedly playing with them, as if testing their balance on the edge of the table. He never pushes them off though.

4. Ragdoll test

Some of the women in town tell Bucky that if your cat really trusts you, it will go limp if you pick him up. Bucky tries this with cat Gale and indeed, Gale is fairly pliant, lets his little paws dangle until Bucky starts getting on his nerves. But when he tries lifting human Gale in any position, Bucky soon finds himself wrestling him, and usually, Gale comes out on top.

IF LEV MADE A BENTO FOR YOU...

The Behemoth of the Nekoma volleyball team is blushing the color of his uniform as he carefully sets down the bento box in front of you. His delicate fingers unclip the strap that holds the sections of the stacked box together so that there is no risk of you pinching your fingers. Then, he folds his hands over one another in his lap and watches for your reaction with wide, piercing eyes. His attention is intense, but you can sense an almost child-like desire to please.

When you carefully separate the sections, with the other students of your class watching you with clear curiosity and jealousy in their gazes, you find that though the contents are not exactly traditional, they are all carefully and almost meticulously crafted. He presses his lips together, going more red in the face. He isn’t looking at you as he explains. “I know it’s not–”

“It’s very cute.” You interrupt before his nerves have him rambling. “Did you make it all yourself?”

He nods. “I promise to learn how to cook!”

“I look forward to it, Lev-san.” You say with a smile. His returning smile and the shine in his eyes lets you know that he will not stop until he has made you proud.

[ Lev’s Bento: He carried it into the room with very slow and deliberate steps and his tongue poking out between his lips in concentration. You could tell he was very concerned about disturbing the contents. The bento box was made up of three sections stacked on top of one another and had a cat face design on the top, a collar with a bell on the middle, and a tail and paw print on the base. Inside the top section is a Russian tea sandwich with cold deli meat, cucumbers, cheese, and mayonnaise. The second section has vegetables and seaweed flavored crackers shaped like fish. A delicate pasta salad filled the base with bits of egg, cucumbers, and ham mixed with the bowtie pasta. Though they were all things that required little in the way of actual cooking, you could tell the details of the cuts of the sandwich and the vegetables were done painstakingly. ]

After too much Diet Coke late in the day, I fell asleep at 2am after eating a salad of cucumbers, beets and tomatoes from my garden with yummy French vinaigrette dressing. Slept in until 9am and then gave the house a thorough cleaning, and made an appointment to get the bedroom rugs steam cleaned and sanitized next week - between the hair and cat vomit, it’s a lot.

Then I headed over to Sausalito. My friend’s kids got her a spa gift card and she’s not a fan of massage, so generously gifted it to me. It was amazing, I got a dry brush exfoliation as well and the masseuse said “it’s like little clouds of dry skin dust and coming off, why is your skin so dry?” That made me feel like Pig Pen for a second but when I mentioned chemo he nodded his head like he understood and said he has clients for whom it can take several months after treatment to be properly hydrated again, so I tucked that away to think about later.

Now I’m home on the sofa, uncomfortably full after ordering food watching movies on Hulu. My friend D stopped by and mentioned I’m noticeably different this time. It’s a good day.

Hello and Welcome to the garden!

Today I have a bit of a smallish and short post~

The pumpkin is developing pretty good, the one on the trellis is a little smaller than this one. I'm starting to see new flowers on the vine, but I think I'll be picking them to use for stir fry/fried rice varient, ommlettes, or salad.

The first planting of the velour beans is starting to get what I think might be the end of their cycle, a few more flowers arrived but the plants aren't really b taking off to much in growth or producing. If I recall right I got around 48 oz of beans. (Their being crowded out by the sunflowers now.)

I'm gonna leave them in and jsut see how long/well they do.

2nd in from left. Starting closest to us. The broccoli and nasturtium. I'm gonna pick some of the broccoli leaves this week for pan fried veggies. Broccoli leaf+rice (not sure if blanching, pan fry w/garlic+butter or a cheese/broc soup.)

3rd row from left starting closest. The eggplants, who have some flowers but I've not seen any eggplant yet. Cabbages (2), they've got little heads coming in. I have not yet sprayed down with the tea but I haven't seen much more pest issue. And last the cucumbers. One is pretty much done, the other has teeny lil cucumbers coming in, but I don't expect too much more growth from them. If they do I may just let it go to seed and see if it does better next year in a different spot.

Finally got down to the hardware store. We got wood, pipes for extending the garden fence, dirt and some time.

We got 2 boxes made up. So next step is to get the fence panels made up to extend the garden space and protect it from the stray/feral cats.

I got peppers, tomatoes seed started this week, though im hoping I didn't lose a tray of peppers due to a watering malfunction. (Always check your seedlings daily!) I also got some garlic in the ground and some ginger root too.
