some more ideas for the totk rewritten project (botw2);

underground general ideas i thought about what to theme the underground after, and since its vaguely like underwater in canon i thought id push it much much further, you cant actually dive and while id love that i do want to stay within a certain possible range of it still being a sequel to botw and somewhat based on totk- so im putting the low gravity effect away from the sky and instead in the underground, the ENTIRE underground, that way it is distinctly different in the way you have to play since you gotta work around the low gravity effect, the entire plant life and enemies will also be based on deep sea creatures- anglerfish like ones that half burrow and lure you with their light, those fish (or are they worms?) that hide underground as soon as you step too close, maybe they hide initially but only to make you go closer and try and snatch at you

much more glowy things too, basically everythings got some sort of light on it, there are different creatures flying around that all feature some sort of glow, so there is stuff to see but you cant immediately know what it is, theres a unique kind of plant that when you bother it spews out a dark cloud of spores (kinda like in tp) that dims any light you had; there are some landmarks you can activate or repair with the help of zelda but there is no way to illuminate the entire map and the lil light ferns expire slowly too

i also want it to be way more wet, not full with water but maybe a thin layer of water at most places and some drops from stalactites that fall constantly

there are shadowy ghosts there as well but they CAN aggro (still working on it), either by taking a weapon from their grave or some other things; also considered them or some other enemy that stalks you for some time and the only clue you get is maybe double sound of your steps or something at the very edge of your screen but you can never catch it when looking around (i dont want to make it a horror game but do want the underground to stay as creepy as when you first get down there), something elusive and shadow based that is rarely encountered but stays creepy for longer than the miasma hands sicne it cant get stuck on anything and the only way to be safe is while in the air

maybe some miasma reanimated corpses of ancient shiekah killed when the ancient hyrulean king turned on them (only foudn in the underground in this way; there are others but unposessed in alot of the broken shrines and old laboratories so seeing one suddendly move and crawl after you is probably pretty scary, kinda like the vroken guardians sometimes being still functional)

the dongos are the main friendly animal you can discover there and tame (still working out more details) they can climb around, always emit a little bit of light and the shadow enemy wont latch onto you as long as you are near a dongo, maybe even most enemies will leave you alone if you are riding one, as they are slower than horses, with the exception of gigamas (or a similar enemy ill redesign for that) as they are the natural predator of dongos; when you get to close to one it will react to it and if a fight is initiated it burrows away (you can call it and it comes back to you if you are out of range of that enemy)

tameable animals since i played skyward sword recently i just realized again how much fun it is to fly on a bird, sicne im already dividing the three map layers a bit more i thought it would be cool to make these layers more distinct, in some part by the tameable animals- the sky has birds (based on dinosaurs), the surface has horses, the underground dongos- neither of them can follow you to one they dont belong and the way to call them switches as you switch layers

im not sure yet if those birds should be ridable or are only able to give you a small boost upwards when you call them

magic bar so instead of actual batteries i planned to, as i said before, to put that into links shiekah arm prosthetic, and instead of giving you literal battery symbols on the screen it would be a bar right below your health and next to the symbol of the current selected arm ability

krog seeds a bit more to the krogs- as i said before they are no longer the way to make your pockets bigger- among an armor set i also thought about making the most expensive reward OR the end reward for finding all of them be the eponator zero- maybe it went missing during the cataclysm and maronus (engl. hestu) finds it at some point, so you get your bike back but its locked behind something bigger so you are unlikely to exploit it early on

(EDIT) (forgot to mention the dragons- im putting them each in one layer of the map- eldra in the underground bc gan is there and youknow, demise coming from the ground and fire being associated with the ground etc, farodra on the surface GREEN etc, and naydra in the sky, bc wisdom and owls and gods and all that weeeeee)

(on a sidenote im also thinking about ditching the building mechanic to some extent since i dont think it fits very well as a whole and it makes it too easy to completely skip stuff- i want the main way to move things or to get around be the hookshot/grappling hook part of links arm; still working on all that though .. so far it does seem likely like it will be much more limited)

"I was informed quite recently by a friend that this is a good place to receive unbiased judgement on past actions of mine that were not well received by people. As there are few beings I trust to ask for unbiased, well-meaning judgement from, I turn to the internet.

After a recent excursion to Hell, my raven saw fit to inform me that condemning a past lover to Hell might be seen, in my raven's words "as a dick move." My sibling, who has seen fit to give a mortal the tools to imprison me for a century and has made an attempt on my life, has criticized me before for the decision I made to condemn my lover to Hell.

Our story took place 10,000 years ago. She was a mortal queen and very beautiful. She was desired by many, but she refused them. One day she laid eyes on me, not knowing who or what I am, and decided that I would be her lover. She pursued me, and eventually found me in my realm. We began to get to know each other. She truly loved me at first. And I loved her. No one had ever loved me enough to go to the lengths she had to find me. I offered to make her the queen of my realm. But when she truly began to understand what it is that I am, and that I would not abandon my realm to be her lover, she became fearful. I did not want her to leave me, so when she ran, I ran after her. She hurt herself in the hopes that it would make me disgusted with her and leave. When she saw that she did not scare me away, she allowed me to heal her. We made love all through the night.

In the morning, her city was destroyed, for the First Circle had decreed that one of the Endless cannot love a mortal. We had both known that. She had tried to put an end to our relationship before it was too late, but in the end our desire for each other had overcome all else.

In her despair, she killed herself. I was distraught, I would have made her my queen. But she chose death over me. She chose to abandon me, she chose to abandon hope, for death. Still, I would have forgiven her for that transgression. I would still have her as my queen. I would still love her.

But she rejected me. Even though she loved me, she would rather die than be with me. So I told her that I would offer my love a final time, but if she once again would choose death over me, that I would condemn her soul to Hell.

She did not answer at first. She said that we were never meant to be together and that darker things would come to be if we tried to be together. I asked her once again as she was making the journey to the Sunless Lands. She told me to leave her. I asked her for the last time. She refused me and I condemned her to Hell.

She sought me out, only to reject me. To reject dreams by killing herself. She loved me and yet would choose to die rather than be with me. She would choose Hell rather than be with me even though she sought me first. I felt that my actions were justified. She was not moved by the pain that her actions caused me. What could I have done except punish her for her callousness?

I felt I was completely justified in my actions until very recently when I saw her in Hell. I had not thought of her in a long time, though I still loved her. But my recent experience of being imprisoned for a century had changed me in ways that I have only recently admitted to myself. For the first time I wondered if perhaps my original judgement to condemn her to Hell was made in error. So I am turning to here at the recommendation of a friend. Am I the Asshole?"

Damian Wayne Headcannons <3

Damian, at the beginning of the relationship, is never one to be openly emotional with his lover. Since he grew up as nothing more than a killing machine, he never quite reconciled with his feelings, preferring to push them deep deep down until he was nothing more than a stoic. It didn’t help that his father carried the same toxic behavior either. Eventually, with the help of you and the rest of his family, Damian began to slowly open up. Key word: Slowly! The most important thing to remember is to approach the relationship with patience; Don’t force him to open up to you, but also don’t neglect how he might feel. Just being there for him will make it easier for him to express how he feels. 

Adding on to the first note, don’t be alarmed if Damian is not the best at comforting you in the beginning. Like I said, he is terrible with expressing himself emotionally so that leads him to feel awkward when seeing his loved ones show vulnerability. It’s not that Damian doesn’t love you, he just is unsure of what to do. Damian would probably resort to asking for help from either Dick or Alfred (maybe even Jon), which might seem negative at first, but if Damian is openly asking for help with something he is not good at, you should probably be flattered. Damian might also ask how you preferred to be comforted when having a bad day, albeit in a slightly snarky manner. 

Whatever kind of affection you love most will be the one Damian tries to reciprocate with. You like physical attention? Don’t expect to leave Damian’s arms for a very long while. You want praise and affirmation? Damian will whisper soft words of encouragement and admiration until you’re squealing into his chest. Anything and everything he will do his best to fulfill! 

Damian is terrible in the kitchen. I do not care what anyone else says, they cannot convince me that he is a good cook. Growing up, Damian was always served food from his grandfather’s servants or from Alfred (when he moved in with his father). It was only until he rolled up his sleeves and attempted to make you a nice breakfast did he realize that he had no idea how to make pancakes…or scrambled eggs…or anything really. That morning, you woke up to the fire alarm go off and Damian swiftly trying to take out the fire ablaze in one of the pans. 

Safe to say that Damian was banned from the kitchen forever.

Damian treats you like his big teddy bear, but not in the way you think. Instead of the classic “spooning” method most couples would use, Damian likes to pull you halfway onto his chest. This way it’s easier for him to hear your heartbeat and keep you protected in case of any emergencies. It’s also easier for him to pepper your face and neck in kisses in the morning! 

Damian’s sketchbook is filled to the brim with pictures of you. He has this special way of drawing you perfectly, as if you had no physical flaws or imperfections. You can’t put your finger on exactly what he changes however. In reality, Damian just draws you how he sees you. 

Animals. Animals Everywhere. Some nights, usually after patrol, Damian will sneak back home with a new random animal in his arms. “It was a cat on the street!” He would exclaim. “How could I possibly not take him with me when it’s pouring rain outside?”

Somedays, he will bring home more…exotic animals…not unsimilar to Batcow or Jerry the Turkey. 

Damian’s favorite place to kiss you is on the forehead; it’s chaste enough for in-public-situations while also showing how much he adores and loves you. 

This man will tease you, it doesn’t matter if you are his one and only. Teasing you, especially if you are easily flustered, lets him gain a sense of control. The control he desires isn’t out of malice, no, he just prefers being more…dominant 

This doesn’t mean that he isn’t opposed to you teasing him back. If you are able to retort his snarky or jeering, he may as well drop down to one knee on the spot 

On the weekends, you guys spend a lot of time at Animal shelters and Sanctuaries. Both of you have made a habit of adopting the old animals that would have been put down since no one had bought them. You try to give them the happiest life possible before they pass away

Expect him to propose in about 3-4.5 years (depending on how much you knew him before being in a relationship) 

Damian is a cuddle bug, fight me. He isn’t a huge PDA person but once you both are home, he will tackle you into bed and hold you in his arms for hours

Every night before patrol, Damian Wayne kisses you like it is the last time. That's not to say that he thinks he will die, but he does it anyway as a preemptive measure in case he gets extremely hurt.
