About your language brainrot. I see your "Reader's writing can't match tyvat's long and flowery writing" and bring you "Tyvat isn't used to books over 50 pages long so a short story to the Reader is a whole dictionary to tyvat readers".

Seriously, have you seen how thin the books are? They don't wrote novels, they write short chapters formatted in the way really old stories are. As in, summarizing all the events down into one smooth story then adding a few quotes. Fanfiction writers are insane. They will willingly sit down and write hundreds of words at a time. To them, a proper modern day story of maybe, oh 10k words or so, would probably be like the Oddessy itself.

If we were to combine the two headcanons. It would end up as many historians being intimidated by this insanely long written scripture in the language of the forgotten.

I'm going to take this a step further and say that if the creator asked some people to proofread their things, it would establish a hiarchy of who is able to actually finish the book the creator read and who isn't.

Hey, thanks for looking out. I'm not particularly alarmed about this per se, since it's not like I have intellectual property rights to any of the polls posted here, but I certainly think it's a rude/tasteless thing to do.

I don't know what people stand to gain from resubmitting the same polls to other blogs, other than if the poll had already ended before they saw it and they just want to click a button themselves– which I still don't think is a very good reason. Even if I, too, like the game, I would prefer if you do not, I would like to diversify the tracks you'd hear here, and getting like, 5 songs in a row from the same game might make the blog feel stagnant, especially since I'm planning to post only 6 songs a week. Refrain from sending more than one song per game and save it for the next time I open submissions! It makes the chances of OSTs from more obscure games appearing much easier! It's also kinda unnecessary since it's very likely for me to open submissions frequently. You're free to send as many songs as you want BTW! As long as each one are not from the same game!!

Alright so first of all, the avatar and header images.

The idea I like the most is switching between pictures each week or month or something like that. On this blog you guys could send in your submissions, and I'd make polls and we can vote. I'll reblog all the posts from here in general so that they're in community, of course. The winner would be credited through an edit to info about the community

Question is, do we do that for both avatar and header? Just avatar? Just header?

If just the header, to adjust for sizing I'd add the psycho-competitive flag in the background, so visible on the sides. The psycho-competitive flag (and thus the current header and avatar) was made by me a while ago - this is the post

I know what one of the more common comments will be, so let me address it already: I don't think it's a good idea to use the iconic tnt duo kissing image. It is my understanding that the original artist has gotten harassed over it in the past, and you can't find it anymore on their Instagram (last time I checked at least). Furthermore, it is someone else's art, so to be able to use it in an official tntblr community I would need the artist's permission, and I just think that it could reinforce that that's something which keeps following them. I don't wanna bring up some shitty memories, so I'm personally against using it in such a public, "official" setting.

i got it for layout changes like these- the first is cramped and ugly and i feel like i'm on twitter. the second is warm and comfy and i can make my posts wider (i dont like all the empty space). (limit checker, tag replacer, and post color were done on xkit and palettes respectively, not unfucker, btw)

with the dashboard unfucker you can:

hide the following/blog subs/for you etc tabs

get rid of the changes/staff picks/etc carousel

hide recommended blogs and tags

add profile pics back to posts

hide the radar

hide the explore page

hide tumblr shop

hide user badges

highlight bots in ur activity feed

show who follows u in the activity feed

make posts wider/slimmer and move the dash posts position to the left/right

revert messages design (and make the messages box bigger)

revert activity feed to the old design

display vote counts on polls

show poll results without clicking (no more skewing polls or "see results"!!)

disable tumblr domains

add polls to reblogs

disable "post without tags?"

show ns.fw posts

how to install dashboard unfucker

step 1: install either tampermonkey, tampermonkey beta, greasemonkey, or violentmonkey (if you don't already have it)

note: im using tampermonkey as an example because it's what i use

step 2a: go to firefox extensions/chrome web store/your browser's equivalent

step 2b: look up "tampermonkey" and click "add to firefox/chrome/whatever" and confirm

step 2c: you're done! yayyy

step 2: click this link. look under "installation" where it says "Click on unfucker.user.js to install or update". and click that

You asked, and you shall receive! It’s time for my Byakuya&Chihiro friendship analysis, which was the winner of the poll I posted. For this post I will be using he/him pronouns for Chihiro btw! Now, if you know me and read my fics, then it won’t come as a surprise that I like this friendship- it was because of this friendship I wrote my first ever long fic after all.

But why? Why do I like this so much? After all, in the killing game, Byakuya is anything but friendly towards Chihiro.

To answer that question simply- it’s the potential. Byakuya and Chihiro are in many ways polar opposites. Byakuya is overly confident while Chihiro lacks confidence, Chihiro is trusting and maybe slightly naïve while Byakuya doesn’t trust anybody. Even physically I could point some things out- Byakuya is very tall while Chihiro is short. I could go on and on.

Yet one thing they share is that they are smart. Chihiro is an excellent programmer while Byakuya is unmatched in the business world. And it’s there that I can see a friendship forming, one that would pave a way into quite a lot of development.

That would be pre killing game/ no killing game though. As for in the killing game… Well, there certainly is a way… a way I have written in fic form! And writing a rewrite for! So… go check the original out, or the rewrite (though, that one is far from done… but does have better writing)

Self-promotion aside, let’s focus on a situation outside the killing game. It would start as a business transaction, literally. While Byakuya may be an asshole, there’s no way he doesn’t see Chihiro wouldn’t be useful for him. So, he would hire the boy. Get him to create… something.

And Chihiro would see this as an opportunity, an opportunity to get to see a different side of Byakuya. Because while Chihiro is quite shy, he is also trusting- we see this when he calls everybody his friends after Leon’s trial. I think that especially during a more peaceful situation where Byakuya wouldn’t be as bas as in the kg, Chihiro might just… try to talk to him.

It would probably just start out as things about the program or whatever he’s making for Byakuya, but eventually I think it could develop to other programming related things- we actually have a scene like this in one of the silly manga. Byakuya would most likely understand programming more than most of their classmates.

And Byakuya would let this slide- it doesn’t really matter if Chihiro goes off topic for some small moments. I don’t think he would let his walls down anytime soon, but it’s a start.

This would develop further and stuff, but I am keeping that all secret for a future fic, so not gonna delve into that now.

What I want to talk about still is what this friendship could mean- the development I spoke of earlier. So, in Chihiro’s FTE, Byakuya is actually an option in the last one, the one about who he should go to for getting stronger. The other 2 option are Sakura and Mondo, which makes sense.

But Byakuya? He isn’t physically strong- at least not in the way these other 2 are. He represents mental strength, something which Makoto also says there.

And that’s the development I mentioned. Chihiro would learn to become more confident due to Byakuya. Byakuya doesn’t look physically strong, but that doesn’t matter to Byakuya, and that is something that Chihiro would love to learn. Byakuya’s confidence is due to his mental strength, his smarts. And Chihiro is smart too.

The other way around there is also development. With Chihiro’s help, Byakuya could become more open, more trusting of the others instead of trying to keep them all away. Without the killing game I feel like Chihiro would suit this role better than Makoto due to him being smarter. Not that Makoto isn’t smart, but that’s something we only get to see due to the killing game.

These 2 could really help the other become a better person, which is why I feel like a friendship between the 2 could work so well. It also makes Byakuya’s actions in Chapter 2 hurt so much more because while he might’ve looked down on Chihiro during the killing game, before that it was practically the complete opposite.

It adds onto the hurt that the killing game brings, the killing of not just strangers but friends you’ve forgotten.

So, that is why I love the idea of a Byakuya&Chihiro friendship so much. Well, all of this and the fact that these 2 are my number 1 and 3 fav characters in all of danganronpa- Kyoko has second place.

I really hope this makes other see this vision… because literally half of the fics on AO3 with this tag are mine… We need more of this friendship! Redoing the first post I ever did on this blog: Trying to assign a shark to CFO🦈

The first time i did this I was honestly very nervous about putting my stupid takes out into the fandom, but I'm ready now, and I have stronger CFO shark opinions. I'm linking to all the sharks' Wikipedia pages, for those interested in sharks!!

I gotta be honest, this is about Charles, but mostly this post is me sharing fun shark facts. I hope you guys are chill with that.

Same as the last time, I still have some honorable mentions.

(ALSO i tagged this post under some shark tags, this is the guy we're talking about, btw, I'd love for you guys to vote in the poll at the bottom of the post)

I considered something like the Basking Shark. However, they're quite large, and I think Charles looks harmless, so the Basking shark was out. Additionally, despite they're large size, they're pretty docile. They're one of the three species of sharks that eat plankton! But, I envisioned a slightly more slender, swift hunter type of shark.

I also considered a type of Thresher Shark, as I liked their unique appearance, but ultimately I couldn't decide on a species. I think I wanted Charles to be one just because they have cool caudal fins.

I very briefly considered The Great White, because to most people that's the shark. But I just wasn't feeling it. They're cute, but I don't see Charles being one.

In the original post I listed The Silky Shark, but I'm taking this back, because now that I think about it, I just wanted Charles to be a Silky Shark because they're my favorite....

Moving on to the real choices now.

Bull Shark (Carcharhinus leucas)

The Bull Shark is one of my favorite sharks. It's in the family Carcharhinidae, which makes it a Requiem Shark! (which is also where I get my tumblr name from) I didn't do this on purpose, but all the sharks in this list are actually Requiem Sharks. Requiem sharks are known for being very fast and efficient hunters, and of course the Bull Shark is no exception. Bull Sharks are known to be aggressive towards people, alongside the Great White and the Tiger shark (though don't let a certain awesome 1975 movie fool you, you're odds of being attacked by sharks are very slim, these bad boys are just know for doing it the most) Bull sharks are euryhaline, meaning they can adapt to water of varying salinity, meaning they can do just fine in freshwater. This sort of adaptability reminds me of Charles, and tbh, I think Bull Sharks just kind of look like him some how.

Blue Shark (Prionace glauca)

The Blue Shark looks like a goober. You can find them fucking everywhere, check out this map from Wikipedia. They're one of the most wide-spread shark species!

The Blue Shark's name isn't a stretch, they really are blue! Curious, and not typically aggressive, they've been known to approach divers. They're also known to be more social than other sharks, and sometimes travel in schools separated by sex, at least as juveniles. It's slender, streamlined appearance makes me think of Charles, in the sense that somehow the Blue shark looks like it'd wear a suit, but maybe more like a silly colored suit. Like blue! The long pectoral fins also remind me of him, for some reason. I don't know why, it's not like he has long arms?

If you're familiar with the BLÅHAJ, you may know the blue shark! The common name for Prionace glauca in both Swedish and Dutch is blåhaj, which just means Blue Shark!

Oceanic Whitetip Shark (Carcharhinus longimanus)

A shark with a very good design, look at that aesthetically pleasing coloring and the rounded fins? This is someone's OC shark, i swear. The Oceanic Whitetip is listed as critically endangered by the IUCN. They cannot pump water through their gills, so they're one of the shark species that has to always be moving! They're more leisurely while swimming, and have been known to breach the water.

Honestly, I think this is a good candidate for Charles shark because I just love the way these sharks look!

Sandbar shark (Carcharhinus plumbeus)

This silly guy is the Sandbar shark, one of the largest costal sharks in the world! They're known for their brownish coloring (another common name for them is the brown shark) and their tall dorsal fin. They also have rather large pectoral fins. They are listed as endangered, as they are hunted for their fins. I chose this shark honestly because it's brown, and the aforementioned tall dorsal fin. I was mostly choosing the sharks based on looks, and this one easily looks the most like Charles to me.

Anyways, thanks for reading my silly shark post! When I did this like, three months ago, I was working on this AU thingy, but I'd got totally sidetracked trying to assign a damn shark to Charles. The original idea was he was gonna be like... y'know, a mermaid or something, but I never got around to working on it, mostly because of the sharks. If you have any interest in it, I could do Dethklok/any one else from MTL as sharks. Honestly, i'd love an excuse to combine my interests.

With RWBY now in indefinite hiatus, I've been thinking of a couple of shows to watch to pass the time....

A few shows I want to watch in mind:

Wakfu - I've been seeing some amazing fanart and some short clips here and there. The animation and art style caught my interest, so I thought I might give that a watch!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End - I've mentioned before on another post about a RWBY AMV I've seen, (which you should absolutely check out btw), the moment I heard the OP song from YAOSOBI I'm immediately sold! Plus the amount of fanart I've seen is amazing too!

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury - When I first saw some clips from the early seasons of the show, my immediate thought is, this is basically a RWBY Whiterose in Space AU! And the two main characters (and the sypnosis of the plot) really sold it for me!

The Dragon Prince - The fanart and edits were enough for me to get into it. That's pretty much it!

Delicious in Dungeon - The anime is animated and produced by Studio TRIGGER! Do I need to say more?

Slayers (Anime series) - The anime is basically a 90's DnD campaign experience! (I myself have never played DnD but from what I've heard and seen it looks super fun! Maybe one day I might get myself into it with moots!) Stars a GOATED VA cast (and among of my top faves) from the likes of Lisa Ortiz, Eric Stuart and Veronica Taylor. The animation and art style is simply to die for! I've watched a video retrospective from Unicorn of War, and I immediately decided to add that to my anime watchlist!

I'm a religious follower of @haveyouheardthisband . theyve been on hiatus for a few months and every day I pray the mods will start posting again but there's a huuuuge backlog you can look through. each poll is tagged with the genres of the artist so whenever they posted one that seemed like I'd be interested I would go and listen to one of their albums. that's how I've found the bulk of new artists recently. they also tag the country of each artist so you can filter it to the ones who would be more likely to tour near you. there's also @haveyoulistenedtothisalbum-poll

I will just make a post asking my followers for recommendations or inviting them to talk about music they like 🤷‍♀️

sometimes I just pick a band I like and go down the rabbit hole in the "related artists"/"fans also like" section of their spotify profile. this works better for bands that aren't extremely popular becuase it's more specific. I also read their bio sections and sometimes they mention other names/groups a musician has done projects with/other associated artists so I check those out too. and if and artist I like has featured another artist on one of their songs I go check out the featured person

I watch a lot of music commentary videos on youtube (mostly hivemind and fantano but occasionally other stuff) and if one of them mentions something that sounds interesting I'll check it out. usually it's not even posed as a recommendation or review, they jusy say the name of a band that i thought was a funny name and I was like ok i have to go listen to this

If it feels hard to find music that meets your specific criteria (and believe me ive been there, tbh i still am there) then my advice is to cast a wide net. if you just say fuck it and listen to much music as possible you will eventually find the right stuff. it's also expanded my music taste quite a lot and the increased exposure made me realize theres stuff i didnt even know I liked. there are things i didnt like a few years ago that I've revisited and found new appreciation for. so i hope that helps 😁

If anyone's curious (probably no one idk lmao) abt the dynamic between mine and a friends oc (hanako and satsuki) i recommend reading the short fic i wrote:

Anyway, I'm gonna like be more specific in the dynamic between the two and their personalities, designs, au/spinoffs, their bond, etc etc

Anyways so to start of with their separate personalities (and similarties to other popular characters):

Hanako Adachi: Hanako is my oc, and throughout I'll mention her in blue italics anyways her MBTI is istj (in perspective, think personality like megumi/giyuu/etc) and basically she hates cold weather, and loud and obnoxious people, and likes autumn, blankets, and watching thunderstorms

Anyways now Satsuki Yamako: Satsuki will be mentionwd in green italics is my friends oc, and off the top of my head I can't remember her mbti and such but I do remember my friend saying Satsuki is like Gojo, but knows when to shut up and is also obsessed with death

Anyways on how the two met is this; initially since their 7th year in middle school they kinda were like rivals/trying to one-up the other (Mainly Satsuki, hanako didn't give a fuck) and the summer from going from 7th to 8th, they hung out and were like "oh you're not so bad, your actually rlly cool" and their friendship sprouted from that.

Me and my friend before the holiday break were working on a side spin off that they're 1st years and they're on their first winter mission (it's still in progress cus my friend went on vacation for the holiday break) but I also wrote a prequel to Cigarettes and the Holidays; which i may post tmrrw (12/22/24) or around that time (or maybe the 25th??)

Anyways yeah the main lore we have on them so far is the shibiya incident (which again, takes place in "Cigarettes and the Holidays") but to sum it up Satsuki dies (I'll go in more depth in the below paragraph) and how Hanako copes (again, I'll go in depth but it's in cigarettes and the holidays)

Anyway Satsuki’s death:

It's not much of a surpri3s when I say that she died during the shibuya incident. Pretty much how this happens, is after Hanako and her argument, they find a compromise and go off and meet back up in a few hours, but in those few hours, satsuki encounters a "fight"

Satsuki finds sukuna, and obv he's in a fight against who knows (maybe jogo or smth) and w her scythe Satsuki leapt into the air to get a hit on sukina, but like swatting a fly away, sukuna casually swatt3d h3r away and satsukis arms and legs get cut off, mainly from flying through a building w a hole (below is a diagram??):

And then heres where Satsuki lands/map:

But mainly to shorten it satsuki gives her a cigarette and blah blah later Hanako fights mahito and mahito trys to kill her and touches her leg leg but hanako cuts off her leg just in time (I'll write a spin off abt that later (will feature yuta okkotsu btw !!)

Anyeay now onto aus/spinoffs:

Basically instead of Satsuki dying Hanako looses eyesight from injuri3s and blood loss (not a ton of backg4ound on that atm)

Hanako smokes the cigarette and satsuki gets revived (like curs3d smoke ig) and satsuki had now a curse energy glow around her and hanako thinks she's schizophrenic cus she doesn't know that it's ac4uqllt satsuki

Dialog for this one:

H: no, no, no. Satsuki- satsukis gone.

S: no, hey, hey, hanako it's okay

H: Satsuki’s gone!

S: hanako..

Yeah, I'm kind of really sad about it, because I'm the one that had asked for a version of the poll specifying if it was for the TV show or the videogame character, back in September.

Since then, I had periodically been checking on the @foundfamilyadoptionagency blog to see when submissions would reopen, so I could submit Radovid with a picture and description of the character, specifically from the TV show this time, and was planning to rally other fans (especially those that I know have a large number of Radovid/Radskier fans followers) of the character to reblog the poll so fans of the TV show and the character would hopefully see it.

I'm thinking of one person, in particular, that tends to make the notes on my own Radovid posts soar whenever she reblogs them.

But Destiny apparently had other plans, I completely missed it (therefore didn't vote, nor did I get the chance to increase its visibility among fans of the TV show and the TV show character) and, at some point, it would be ridiculous to just keep insisting for it to be reposted again and again, expecting a different result.

That being said, I was extremely surprised and very touched that they'd remembered it, though!

I was not expecting they'd be doing a second version without a reminder, or someone giving a proper submission, so a part of me went "OMFG! They're so sweet!", while at the same time face-palming that most fans I know seemed to have missed it.

I have a feeling that a lot of Radovid (show version) fans tend to check out the Radskier (Jaskier/Radovid ship) tag more often, too, since that allows us to avoid posts about the videogame character (and most Radovid posts are also connected to Jaskier and their relationship anyway).

Or they simply follow the few main blogs that keep creating and reblogging content about Radovid and Radskier directly to get their fix.

But yeah, given said main blogs did not appear to notice or repost the poll, I'm actually not at all surprised by the results.

Because "The Witcher" 's fandom is a bit of an eclectic mess of clashing ideologies, values, and extremes.

Including hardcore videogame fans that were expecting the TV show to religiously follow the narrative of the games, rather than create their own adaptation of the books.

So, while you will get people disliking Radovid for the usual (and perfectly valid, BTW) fandom reasons, such as:

They simply fail to emotionally connect or relate to him,

They feel like the show had been building a romance between Geralt and Jaskier for the first 2 seasons, only to instead pair him up with another newly introduced character in season 3.

You also have some videogame fans that are having a hard time treating these two characters as two completely different persons, and will even readily admit that they have an irrational dislike of Radovid based on his videogame counterpart.

Again, a fairly reasonable thing to happen that does affect the character's overall popularity, but usually those fans are pretty laid back about it and don't mind that people that only read the books and never played the games, or have only been watching the TV show, fell in love with the show's version of the character.

Videogame Radovid and TV show Radovid, are essentially two very different original characters that were created to serve very different purposes, that were vaguely inspired by a few lines from the books.

One is a villain people love to hate.

The other basically Netflix's version of a Disney Prince.

But then, you also have a very passionate and extremely vocal group of gamers (type "The Witcher" on YouTube, and get ready to enter incel territory!), that will be losing their shit over the fact that they made Radovid a super gentle and sensitive gay prince that admits to being scared, huddles and weeps in a corner when he finds out his guards have all been slaughtered, has a romance with Jaskier on the show, and is ready to leave his life at court behind to go chase after love; instead of the cruel, paranoid badass hypermasculine dictator king that was written for the 3rd videogame.

And then, there's also the argument that: "Jaskier is straight in the books and videogames! How dare they make Jaskier queer by having Radovid be written as Vizimir's adult younger brother instead of being his 12 y.o. son? They aged up a character just to make the show more woke and gay! It's so wrong! " we keep getting from queerphobic audiences.

Basically, TV show Radovid has been getting a large amount of hate from toxic subgroups of the gaming community ever since Jaskier was announced as being in a M/M relationship with him.

It's not even an issue they have with Radovid specifically, but the show in general.

There are entire YouTube channels devoted to hating on the show, it's creators, and everything they deem to be wrong with it, such as the way it focuses too much on Yennefer and Ciri when it's supposed to be called "The Witcher" (not "The Sorceress" or "The Child of Surprise"), having chosen to cast women with healthy and diverse body types (and ethnicities) to portray sorceresses that are described as the most beautiful women on the Continent in the books (when the videogames gave them more "conventionally attractive looking", and often white, in animated form), etc.

And that sort of general resentment towards the show for wishing to explore its own themes, being more inclusive, and taking their adaptation in a different direction than the games (and the books, at times, like most TV show and movie adaptations will do), means they'll take any opportunity they have to express their discontent.

I remember a poll, at some point where the "Radovid's character was screwed over on the Netflix show" option was winning, until the fan I'm talking about earlier reblogged it, and then the "He was treated just fine!" option won (I think the "he was screwed over" ended up with only 15% votes after it was reblogged by fans of the TV show).

So, you have gamers that hate everything about the show and the way it's different from the games... that are sharing the same space/tags as people that love the show, and either have no interest in the games, or are able to appreciate each as two very different takes on the same shared source material.

Of course they positively hate the way the TV show ignored the King Radovid from the 3rd game and created their own character. So they'll wish to "ditch" that version.

And, of course they hate videogame King Radovid, given he's meant to be hated on! He's an awful human being!

Radovid might stand a chance in a context where the fans of the TV show and of the new romance with Jaskier are given a chance to mobilize on their voting.

Otherwise, the fact that he got close to half the votes without help from any Radovid/Radskier centric blogs is actually... rather impressive!

He's actually more popular and beloved than I thought! 😆

So, don't worry too much about it. It's already extremely nice and considerate that you (the poll creator) were willing to give his TV show version a chance, so that it was clearer which one of the two characters we were voting on.

But yeah, "The Witcher" 's fandom itself is a very strange and sometimes scary place to navigate.

Yes, I have.

I mean, Twitter, and especially her Twitter, is a very curated space. Most of these unpopular opinions are VERY lukewarm. Many of them aren't even opinions; others aren't very unpopular. They're things like "I love Patater." An unpopular opinion, hardly. "Unpopular opinion" is not "not the main pairing."

In any case, the audience that's going to reply to this is mostly a self-selecting group of people following her who already like her and the comic! I think very few antisocial people are actually going to tweet @ her, "my unpop opin is, fuck this comic." So I kinda feel like this is ... somewhat of a safe exercise for her?

I also think like, she wants a TV adaptation (the focus of a future podcast ep FYI! if we ever get to the end of posting Y3 S1, I guess) and how you do that is showing there is a big audience. A classic ~creator~ way to show this kind of engagement is asking followers what they think and promoting their responses? Which she is doing! Smart. I don't think 500+ reblogs is gonna do it, however.

The most trollish thing she's done is post this "did Jack truly love Parse" poll today. What does that fuckin mean? Is true love like a single universal quantifiable quality here? They were like 18 and closeted and Jack was zonked out on pills. He is also the least self-aware man alive. What even is that yes or no question??
