i think they deserve some good ole’ love making, don’t you?
older brother’s best friend eddie x fem reader
18+ ONLY MDNI
warnings: oral (fem receiving), eddie is a pussy drunk lover boy, riding, unprotected piv sex, cream pie and just some over all cuteness… they deserve it <3
it’s a recipe for disaster masterlist.
a/n: big thank you again to the loml @strangerstilinski , also i totally picture time of the season by the zombies playing on the radio during this chapter… enjoy freaks xx.
the sweltering august nights had finally faded into a more tolerable autumn, the leaves beginning to bloom in a array of yellows and reds.
after your disaster of a date at the hawk a few weeks prior, you both agreed to meet exclusively at eddie’s trailer from now on. as it was the one place that was safe from the prying eyes of your brother.
so far anyway.
the cool september breeze that filters through his cracked window offers you some reprieve from the rising temperatures in his bedroom.
his hands are everywhere, gentle and warm as they kept your hips pressed into his mattress. the radio is playing softly in the background, an oldies station that neither of you cared to change.
as the both of you far too preoccupied with the weight of his ribs between your hips.
his tongue continues to lap against your overly sensitive core, already having coaxed two orgasms from you in the last half hour alone. your fingers are buried in his hair, curls mussed from your constant tugging and damp from sweat.
your soft whine of his name has his head lifting, flushed cheek pressing into the meat of your thigh. his pupils are blown out and glassy, your juices that are smeared across his chin shine in the muted light of his bedside lamp. the colorful handkerchief draped over it casts him in a soft pink glow.
and he’s never looked so beautiful to you before.
“c’mere,” you plead.
he’s crawling up your body without another word, lips locking with yours. he kisses you deeply, hips rutting against yours with fervent need. the feeling has you gasping into his mouth, the taste of you still lingering on his tongue.
another pointed roll of his hips has your fingers sliding down his bare chest and lightly pushing against it. eddie pulls back slightly, the worry that fills his features quickly dissolves when he takes in your lustful expression.
“lay back for me, handsome.” your words come out soft, but more desperate than you intended.
and eddie, eager to please as always, just flops down on the mattress beside you. he just gazes up at you, doe-eyes filled with devotion as you place your palm on his chest and move to straddle his waist.
you can feel the flutter of his heartbeat beneath your fingertips, chest rising and falling as you seat yourself on top of him.
you’re both treading in uncharted waters, but the encouraging look in his eyes helps to keep you afloat.
an experimental drag of your hips has him groaning, rough fingers splaying over the tops of your thighs. you can feel him— hard, heavy and straining beneath the fabric of his boxers. the thin layer is the only thing separating your bodies now.
the mixture of your slick and his saliva soaks into the checkered fabric, allowing you to glide your hips more easily against his shaft. the damp material catches against your clit in just the right way, pulling a whiny moan from your throat.
“that’s it,” he mumbles, helping to guide your hips. “take what you need, baby.”
your hands that are resting on his chest suddenly dip lower, the male helping to lift your hips so you can tug his boxers down his thighs. when eddie moves to kick them off the rest of the way, the sudden motion has you tumbling forward and accidentally knocking your heads together.
“whoops,” you breathe as you lean back, cradling your forehead in the palm of your hand. “sorry… you okay?”
your lips jut out in a small pout, suddenly worried that you ruined the moment due to your inherent clumsiness.
he glances up at you before licking his lips, “it’s hard to say…” his brows then quirk up beneath his bangs, a breath blowing past his spit-slick lips.
“but y’know, now that you mention it…”
he draws it out, an over dramatic lilt beginning to bleed into his voice.
“i am starting to feel a bit woozy.” he pauses, before the corner of his mouth turns up in a cheeky grin. “not from a concussion, of course, but having a pretty thing like you on my lap is—”
and quickly shut him up with a kiss, feeling the laugh that rumbles through his chest.
“you’re such a shit head,” you giggle, nipping at his lower lip.
“oh yeah, keep talking to me like that, sweet thing.” he teases, “you know how that gets me going.”
feeling suddenly emboldened you reach between your bodies, grasping his hardened length in your palm. his answering groan only encourages you to grip it fully as you sit back up.
you nudge the reddened tip through your drenched folds, mewling softly when you slowly start to sink down onto his thick length.
“that’s it, slide it in— oh fuuuuck,” he all but whines.
you’re panting by the time you’re fully seated, palms resting on the flat of his stomach. his cock is nestled at your deepest point and you swear you’ve never felt so full in your entire life.
eddie regards you with the utmost tenderness as you raise your hips, nearly letting him slip out of you before you’re guiding them back down with a small gasp. your pace is slow but steady, gradually taking him even deeper with each subtle rock of your hips.
your head falls back, eyes fluttering shut as the tip of his cock nudges against your sweet spot. his hands that were resting on your hips begin to trail up your sides, underneath your shirt to kneed your breasts in his warm palms.
“look at you,” he groans, encapturing you in the warmth of his gaze. “… like a goddamn dream, baby.”
you’re far too engulfed in your own pleasure to register anything he’s saying. besides the lewd whimpers that continue to spill past his lips with each rise and fall of your hips. the sensation soon becomes overwhelming in the most intimate way possible.
“god, i love you…”
those three little words slips past his lips before he can stop them. so drunk off the feeling of you wrapped around him that he doesn’t realize he’d actually uttered them aloud.
despite the lustful haze that continues to dull your senses, you suddenly hear him loud and clear.
when your hips gradually increase their pace, your fingers wrap around the chain that has fallen into the hollow of his throat. you grip the guitar pick in your fist, coaxing him up until your clothed chest is pressed against his own and his forehead touches yours.
“say it again,” you plead.
his eyes widen as the realization of what he’d just said finally sinks in. but there’s no trace of fear in them when he cups your cheek in his palm.
“i love you, sweetheart.”
your mouths meet in a sudden clash of tongue and teeth, and he swallows each breathy cry that leaves your swollen lips as you meet your end. he allows you to bury your face in the crook of his neck, panting as he chases his own release.
his thighs tremble and he fists the back of your shirt— keeping you pressed against him as he fills you to the brim. only then does he let the exhaustion take over, both of you falling back into the mattress in a heap of entangled limbs.
you both lay like that for a while, letting your breathing slow as the radio continues to fill the comfortable silence.
when you dare a quick glance up at him, your heart thumps even louder in your chest. his eyes are shut, his wild curls fanning out over the pillowcase. he looks so content you would’ve thought he was sleeping, but the subtle quirk of his lips tells you he’s wide awake.
eddie carefully peeks one eye open and you quickly hide your face back into his shoulder. a deep chuckle rumbles in his throat when he catches you staring, but it still makes his heart flutter beneath his ribs.
when you finally muster the courage to speak, your words are muffled, lips pressed into the sweaty skin of his clavicle.
“i love you too.”

hey! been a fan of your work for quite a time, now, and was wondering what happened. i was looking foward to that skaia backgrounds tutorial planned.
sorry if its a bother, i know life can get pretty busy sometimes.
hope ur alright! :D
Thanks for the concern. I'm alright, it's just that last year my computer kept getting the BSoD, and then my apartment building burned down, and the backup drives I had were unreadable so I had to salvage what I could from whatever was backed up to the cloud and another dying hard drive.
I'm on a Linux laptop now, and while I could get by with FOSS for these tutorials, I'd like to get back on Windows to use Photoshop for consistency/accuracy's sake. Rent and bills have been buttfucking me sideways though so it's hard to save up for repairs or a new computer.
The Skaia backgrounds tutorial was gonna be about the checker pattern and a couple different ways of adding the prophetic images in the clouds, I believe. The latter is a bit more involved, but the former is dead simple to do so I could explain it here a bit:
On one layer, draw some black and white stripes.
On another layer above it, draw some white stripes.
If you set the topmost layer's blend mode to "Difference", it'll invert the colors beneath it.
You'll want to clip the top layer to the bottom layer so it doesn't invert anything outside of the contents you intended. I'll leave that up to you as an exercise.

Sprites Reveal Part 1
Today's reveal is the upgraded pixel art of the characters, if you look at the first version of grian I showed off as a chibi its very different from the new and improved art - that I learnt in 1 night. But I waited to get a few more characters drawn before the big reveal [minus the fact I showed off Grian and BigB yesterday-
Grian is grian, he got his wings on his ears and he has a mini animation in the game, He will have 3-4 sprites planned so this is just one of them. He was the first drawn because I knew how I wanted to draw him since his appearance on the title screen and character selection where different looking from the chibi.
Martyn looks very funky to me haha, He also gets 3-4 sprites like Grian, Ren and Scar do. Though he definitely may go through a second round of redesigning because the colouring is a bit off. He hasnt been animated yet because of that reason unlike the rest lol.
Rendiggitydog! I ended up realizing half way through drawing him that I have to make many versions of his sprite when I was just planning to make grian and martyn have multiple sprite designs as its the characters you can play as, but as he second leads in Martyn's POV, he is a special exception like Scar :]
After discovering Ren had to have multiple sprites, I ended up realizing Scar has a minimum of FIVE different sprites thanks to his shirtless-ness . Luckily for me, I made the Poncho on a separate layer... Scar's scars on his face comes after grian blows him up so this is pre-explosion.
Scott was fun to draw, originally I was drawing Jimmy first then I thought he looked too much like scott so he turned into scott haha.. But the sprite did get edited a bit in the actual program, thats why it has a checkered background here
Jimmy is like Martyn, he may be getting revised but I needed to use a sprite for him while I create the set of the Hobbits/flower husbands. I know I will redesign him to at least not look very uncanny to me haha...
Yesterday BigB was shown, but I gotta say, he probably is my favourite sprite so far. I ended up making his sprite too big and had to scale it down in code, He will have a quest in the beginning as he is the first person you meet, no matter who you choose to play as. .
. And those are all the sprites being revealed at the moment! I'll reveal more when I get further on.

Artshield
I was going to flop in bed and try to draw from there, but the sudden swarm of AI shit on another of my accounts fueled me with spite, so I'm writing this post NOW rather than tomorrow when I'll be more awake.
If you can't run Glaze/Nightshade because of the insane specs required for it, give a try to Artshield.
It's a web-based app that will let you load all the pics you want and protect them with a big, invisible watermark all over it. It also has a checker option to use after you've shielded your art, to be sure it worked.
Now, I'm terrible with math so I can't explain how it exactly work, but here's the explanation on their blog. If someone who's more math-savvy than me wants to add a simpler explanation to this post, please do!
While it can't poison AIs like Nightshade does, it's still a good solution if you can't run Glaze/Nightshade on your pc... like many of us, really. As I wrote on another post about Glaze, I have a pretty decent gaming pc that, while not being like high-end or anything (my GPU is a RTX 3060), suits my needs perfectly and runs all the games I'm interested in (Tekken 8's demo being the most recent thing).
Yet, in order to try Nightshade, I had to close all the apps I had running in the background, which were, in that moment, Opera and Discord. Only when I shut them down, it finally started. 10 minutes for the mid setting and the result was awful.
I tried WebGlaze (not Cara yet), and the results were also awful, given you can't control the strenght of the glazing much.
I understand it might be hard to develop this kind of technology, but I wish they would meet us halfway since the majority of people use old machines, laptops (a friend of mine tried running Glaze on hers and the fans started spinning like it was ready to fly) or even just tablets and phones, so those specs are hard to meet.
That's why I want to share Artshield, as a solution for those of you who can't run Glaze and Nightshade.
Artshield's only big limitation is that it won't work with white backgrounds, so try to add a color layer to your white background before shielding it. Same for B/W images.
Other tips I can suggest for trying to protect your works:
Post at the lowest resolution you can: I go for 72 DPI, keeping bigger sizes and high quality files only for Ko-Fi rewards and clients' files
Add a noise filter: I always do this because I like the paper-like, grainy feel it gives to my art, but I read once it might messes with AI's scrapers. While I don't know if this is still true, it's worth trying it
Don't forget a big visible watermark (aside from the Artshield one)!
Hope this will help other strugglin artists, I never see Artshield suggested around, especially in posts about Glaze and Nightshade, so I decided to write this one.
Go and shield your art!

Can we talk about some of the various groups that have been retroactively referred to as "the Avengers of the '50s"? I know there have been at least two.
Sure thing.
The "Avengers of the 1950s" are an interesting little historical footnote that, until recently, have been hidden behind layers of government-imposed secrecy.
As you say, there have been multiple groups that have, somewhat retroactively, been given that title - but of those, only two are noteworthy enough to cover here.
And what's more noteworthy of both of them that, being born of the Cold War, neither are what we'd call conventional superhero teams in the vein of the All-Winners Squad before them.

(photo of the so-called "Avengers 1959", edited to remove background for confidential reasons. Left to right: Victor Creed, Namora, Dominic Fortune, Dum Dum Dugan, Ulysses Bloodstone, Sergei Kravinoff.)
The so-called "Avengers of 1959" were one of these outfits - less a superhero team and more a covert government operation, a predecessor to the SHIELD Super-Agents more than anything, albeit one whose members had quite the checkered past.
On the orders of President Eisenhower, Nick Fury recruited a crack team for a covert operation against a Red Skull imposter and a band of neo-Nazis. This team consisted of big-game hunter Sergei Kravinoff (who'd later be a persistent thorn in Spider-Man's side), feral mutant Victor Creed (alias Sabretooth, wanted for murder in several jurisdictions), soldier of fortune Dominic Fortune, professional mercenary Ernst Sablinova, alias the Silver Sable, Atlantean princess Namora, and immortal monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone.
The only unambiguously good egg on this team was Fury's old war buddy Dum Dum Dugan. The rest ranged from morally grey to outright criminal, only held in check by promises of a paycheck and Fury's tight leash.
Unsurprisingly, they disbanded after only two missions - the one against the fake Skull and a second, more consequential operation that saved the life of King T'Chaka of Wakanda, father of the current Black Panther.
The whole group was a powder keg about to explode, and it's a miracle it lasted as long as it did. In contrast, the other group that went by that name at the time...

(Modern-day artist's rendition of the "Agents of Atlas", recreated from newspaper descriptions.)
Shortly before Fury assembled his team, FBI agent James Woo was given special authorization to assemble "Department Zero", a team of operatives tasked with rescuing Eisenhower from the Chinese terrorist Plan Chu, alias the Golden Claw (period documents say "Yellow Claw", but consensus is that this is a racist mistranslation).
Woo recruited a group of operatives to rescue Eisenhower including Robert Grayson, alias Marvel Boy, Ken Hale, the Gorilla-Man, and Venus - reportedly the Roman goddess herself. Namora was asked to join the team but refused, providing the team with the salvaged Human Robot as a replacement.
Department Zero's mission was successful, but in the end, the United States government shuttered their operation and classified all related material. The group seems to have reformed as of late, operating as the "Agents of Atlas", although details on them are scarce. (Whether this team is one and the same as the Asia-based team that formed in the wake of Malekith's attack on Earth is unknown.)

utterly adore that photo of the three giant marine isopods having their fun with a bag of doritos, and i decided to redraw it with hive worms because i just. feel like this is something they'd do. i swear these guys are like, my fav muse atm asldfghgfd. they're so fun to put in situations hehe!!
i actually started on this last year, promptly gave up but kept it for when i felt more motivated to return, and eventually i did! and these last few days or so i've been really hamming at the shit outta this thing. i've kind of come to realize that this is the kind of art i love making- busy, highly colorful, time-consuming and detailed. imperfect but close to my heart and sparking great joy regardless.
i hope everyone enjoys the result as much as i do 💖💖💖
details
✦ painted worm markings and curtains to create both blending and fading ✦ original jumbo chip bag design, "SOL CHIPS, 5g!!!" (i might make an individual vers of this later bc i had so much fun with this) ✦ asymmetrical linework here and there ✦ borders upon borders for layering and fun ✦ glowing worm eyes ✦ background checker pattern ✦ signature aligned to flow with the curve of the curtain border ✦ stars. so many stars. ✦ no worm stripe pattern is exactly the same!! snowflake worms. they're also emoting differently but each are excited for this wonderful, free bounty. ✦ outer dark border only open at the blue gaps. not sure why i did this, just felt right ykwim

The Jaguar's Heart

This is the Gargoyle that sat half-painted in the background all lonely and sad for the past 6 months, finally done.
Blue colorshift blended into metallic green, and all stripes done freehand - It was finicky, but still easier than the checker bars on the Tamar Jaegers!

Focus on base Some kinda caustic pools, water medium with a very thick layer of gloss varnish that ended up crackling a bit, I think that helped. Makes me want to go out and get crackle medium to do it on purpose.

Color test I did under the base, tried a few blends of blues+greens to see if I liked it, settled on Blurple Colorshift + Metallic Green

Ominis Gaunt headcannons - {Pt. 2}
Author's Note: i had so much fun writing hc for Ominis, so here's a part 2 :) starts out very fluffy, but becomes pretty angsty at the end (sorry, loves 😭). might mess around and paint what i visualized for the synesthesia hc later
he has synesthesia. combined with his heightened senses, he can conjure up whole worlds using his observations that others could only dream about
you ask him about this one day at lunch. every so often he’ll take a bite of something different on his plate, but no two expressions are ever the same. he tells you that different tastes conjure different images in his mind. one afternoon you smuggle an assortment of foods from the kitchens to his dorm (courtesy of the kitchen elves. he and Noctua were always kind to the elves at the Gaunt household and word reached the house elves at Hogwarts. once he became a student they vowed to look out for him.) you hand him a bit of everything, and he uses different colors of light to paint what he sees. spicy foods cause him to paint a whirlwind of red and orange: quick sharp slashes of red and pinpricks of orange as the pepper settles on his tongue. a slice of cake, with light buttercream icing and fluffy yellow sponge yields a beautiful palette of layered pastels: fluffy strokes of baby blue and powder pink rest upon a glowing gold background. puffs of magenta, green, and red pop up between the cloudy swaths as he detects the sugared flowers the elves sprinkled atop the frosting
you take turns describing the world to each other. it doesn’t start out as a date, but ominis decides to indulge himself and imagine that it is (little does he know you’re equally as smitten with him). he mentions that the stars are too far away for his wand to sense, so he settles for reading astronomy books to get through class. you decide to lay outside the castle on a clear night, armed with a wide checkered blanket and a basket of his favorite foods, to describe the stars to him
the basic shapes and distances between stars can be found in any old textbook, but it’s the way you describe them that has him transfixed. you detail how they twinkle and contrast with the navy sky around them. you tell him the myths and origins of each constellation, how different cultures wove them into myths and fables. he adores your voice and naturally gravitates toward you. he shivers a few times as the night’s chill settles in, and you decide to wrap your cloak around the both of you. he positively melts, and you swear you’ve never seen him look more at ease
in return, he decides to play piano for you. this is something Noctua taught him, and something he refuses to do unless he trusts those around him. you tell him that you don’t have a favorite song, so his natural response is to try everything. you spend hours in the music room, letting the sun warm your backs as you rest your head on his shoulder. his playing is impeccable, but the moment he feels you against him his fingers splay across the keys and his face flushes furiously. you apologize, but he insists his hand merely cramped up. you spend the rest of the afternoon like this, you humming along when you recognize a piece and his hands dancing across the keys. his heart feels so full it could burst, and he swears he feels Noctua smiling down on him
speaking of Noctua’s ghost, I have a headcannon that Noctua’s ghost is trapped in the castle. for some reason (maybe an extra curse Salazar Slytherin put on any of his descendants that refused to obey his legacy of pain), she can’t speak to him. so she follows him around, occasionally. she’s unable to speak to him, and he’s unable to detect her
growing up his family treated him as a pawn. they treated his blindness and refusal to embrace the dark arts as weaknesses. they only family member he truly loved was Noctua. his parents forced him into various lessons to “polish” him off for high society, but other than that he was left to his own devices. left alone to face their cruelty and sequestered to their manor and property, the Noctua became the only parent figure he had
she would read to him, bring him toys and sweets, and spirit him away from the manor on trips to London. she told him stories of the outside world, how there was so much more to life than the mundane existence his parents promised him he would endure. she would give him hope; she was once in his shoes, treated like an object and refusing to conform to the Gaunt bloodline’s cruelty. she promised him that if he was patient, if he was strong, he could be like her, one day: free from his family. free to pursue a life of his own
this makes it all the more heartbreaking when he discovers that she died in pursuit of the belief they shared: that one could escape the Gaunt name, the shadow of Salazar Slytherin, and live on their own terms. if Noctua, the strongest, bravest woman he knew, couldn’t do it, what chance did he have?

Downton Abbey Fashion 80 - indoors fashion in 1925
Edith has blue moving into her wardrobe this season in a prominence it didn’t have before, but she’s markedly toning down on the peach and coral shades. Let’s see what she chooses for business chic and for homely comfort.
This first outfit is, alongside Mary’s first indoor outfit of the season, only seen from afar and briefly before it never shows up again, so I never get a close-up look at Edith’s brown shirt. It pairs well enough with the blue silk satin skirt, and I like the long tassels waist tie as a playful addition. My feelings about cloche hats remain mixed.
Time to, again, out myself as a hypocrite, because while I have complained about this exact style of tie-looped-through-a-hole-in-the-dress style before, this is one of my favorites. I guess it’s because the tie loop sits right at the neckline and thus doesn’t look quite so random. Also, who could resist this print? It’s gorgeous, like painted Moroccan tiles but in brown and cream with the subtler red curlicues woven in. The gathered skirt is elegant, the cuffs pick up the white of the tie – overall, a very beautifully composed dress.
This steel blue suit is one of Edith’s preferred business outfits. I personally like it better with the first blouse and the little neck tie; the yellow ruffle jabot looks a little stuffy to me, but there’s no complaints about the color pairing. Something I noticed is that Edith in her office get-ups dresses quite similarly to her female employees – neat, stylish, but not betraying at first sight that Edith comes from a considerably wealthier background. The whole look is kept simple in 1920’s sleek lines, the only decoration element the little button closure at the left hip. And what lovely button rows they are!
Little brighter sky blue, and Edith pairs the checkered (?) vest with her preferred business blouse with the double tie collar. Love this blouse, and it gives this outfit a little necessary touch of smart when the vest could easily come off a little grandpa-ish. Also, I would like to know if the front of her skirt is just drapey or if they put in a box pleat to achieve the way it falls.
A black dress, but Edith wouldn’t be Edith if she didn’t embrace funky prints, in this case in white and red, to give the fabric something to do. The way it drapes and the translucence visible at her shoulder makes me think it could be chiffon, and Edith brings back the little tie collar and, to make it pop a little, a plain black front panel that reaches around her neckline.
Hm. A nice dress, in theory. Only, later in that episode, Edith completes the ensemble by slapping the matching cardigan on top of it. And while this cardigan is sweet with the asymmetrical opening and the rounded corners, it firstly robs me of the nice color contrast between the red checker and the cream blouse, and it secondly is not flattering for her figure which is saying something because the Crawley girls are all very thin. Also, I don’t like the cutesy bow. The dress itself is pretty though; Edith rarely goes for jewel shades, and the fabric seems to have a pile, so it might be quite warm.
Pretty similar to the dress she was wearing for breakfast further up, in that it’s black working with print in red and white shades, although I would rather describe it as silver and copper here, and they flow more into each other because the colors aren’t blotted onto the ground in contrasting shapes. It has a V neckline and one of those nice gathered skirts, and I like how it’s subtly shimmering.
Back to the business looks – okay, the blue skirt definitely has a box pleat in the front. The combination of colors is nice and the double-layered collar quite charming, but the shirt looks like it could have used a decent ironing. Come on; I can tell crepe from crinkles! I do love the printed tie though.
Seeing more blue on Edith than I’ve seen on Mary for at least two seasons. I won’t complain. For a tour of the house, she’s wearing a triple-tiered silk satin skirt and an asymmetrical deep V wrap top that’s either slightly darker or just less shiny (possibly both). The little white cuffs are a darling addition, giving it all a little contrast.
We’ve seen this crocheted shirt in soft vanilla before as an under layer of walking suits, but at home, Edith also wears this on its own. It’s got a little velvet-y looking collar, shut with a brown tassel on a little wooden toggle, and I’m here for little useless shit like this; it’s so cute. Also, slightly drapey sleeves.
Edith’s double-tie blouse is back with a little matching straw hat, and I wish I could remember if this is a full suit or just the vest with the flower print to a generic skirt. Could be the latter since I didn’t bother to keep a shot that includes the skirt. Anyway, it’s a lively print, but in subdued colors because mah gurl wants to be taken seriously at the office, and while I lowkey wish she’d sprung for a few fitted waistcoats at some points that are tailored smooth in the front, I have to concede that that’d make for more of a Mary look.
Keeping with the pale blue, but going back to crocheted clothes: This dress has short sleeves and a rose motif in the front and an overall summerly look. I love these lacey strips in the sleeves and down at the hem, and I’m glad to see Edith’s lovely flowery coat on her arm – that means that, for going out, she added some wild print on top!
Peach is not dead yet; Edith still retains a spot for it in her wardrobe, and can I just say that I’m fascinated? Yes, this is a fairly simple blouse with a tie collar as is well-established for her, but it is chiffon draped over a printed layer, with the apparent purpose of letting the print shine through, albeit without unleashing all the potential colors of it. What a sweet concept. Also, when Edith marches out, we see the beige skirt she’s wearing to this, a sort of split, layered affair that looks ruffly when she moves.
A pre-established beige blouse, paired with an orange skirt – and then the most extravagant jacket Edith ever wears in the office, quite possibly the most extravagant she owns. Chinoiserie is back in action, and there are birds and flowers and architectural elements, in a whole rainbow of pastel colors… and the worst is, I’m not entirely sure this is print. It could be embroidered. In which case, RIP to the maker. I would have murdered someone after the lapels alone.
Edith’s final day dress on the show is a surprising return to form as she reaches for something sage green again, and it’s very charming. The plunging cowl draped over the front? Peak. I’m so into this, and it’s got a fluttery gathered skirt and all, and the layering of the flower print over the plain fabric. This looks so elegant; no notes.

if you have the time/energy to elaborate, what's your process like for coloring stuff you ink traditionally? i've figured out a few different methods over the years, but i generally stick to fully digital or traditional for a piece, so i'm curious to see how you do it! :0
This is such a fun question for me because I get to both ramble about my art process and have an excuse to throw some colors on this Breloom I drew ages ago.
I use Clip Studio Paint and an Ipad for my digital stuff so I'll be referring to the processes on that but I'm sure there is a work around for other programs as well :^)
I scan my traditional art at 400dpi because it's always easier to work bigger with digital stuff and resize it smaller then the other way around :^)
So here's our raw scan, which already looks very decent but when I want to color something I like for everything to be much cleaner/sharper/more contrast-y and to get rid of the noise from the paper texture lmao. A well lit photo will also do the job because that's what I did for many years before getting my scanner but tbh if you're a traditional -> digital artist like myself a scanner is like a best friend you can buy HAHA
First things first, I apply a Gradient Map Layer > New Correction Layer > Gradient Map
Clip has a really nice black and white map preinstalled but I made myself a custom map just by pushing the black and white a little closer, it completely clears up all the noise and makes everything really crisp! Make sure you check on your lines when adjusting things because super fine feather lines can sometimes be lost if you make the contrast too high. Extra tip! If you want to make Graphite Pencil or Ball Point Pen really nice looking as well, just add a dark grey point in the gradient map closer to the black then middle...works perfectly :^)!!
This is the point I look for stray pixels, cat hairs, ect and make sure to erase any surrounding doodles or sketches I don't want included.
GOD DAMN Those lines are CRISP-Y!!!
Next up we're going to want to go Edit > Convert brightness to opacity
Tbh If I didn't have this method idk what I would do with myself.... I've tried the whole "Lineart on top layer set to multiply" Method and ...ehh....
Now that I have a nice transparent line art I'll stick a new white layer down below it because the checker pattern hurts my eyes LOL
I'm going to add a read more here since this post is getting lengthy haha
I'm going to quickly go over the style I use for MTE! It has been refined to be quicker and easier to do since you know...I have a week time limit per page ... 😭 I have a completely different way I do colors for other things I want to spend more time on but I might explain that one in the future...I'm running out of steam tonight LOL
I use this really awesome brush pack that has a pencil like texture and I love it to bits...here's a link to it if your interested!
At this point I might add some overlay layers or play around with an airbrush but I think this guys done for now :^) I tend to stay away from highlights with my shading for MTE..My biggest goal is to make sure everything is clear and readable! That being said I break my own rules all the time for special panels that need the extra 'oomf!'
Slap a lazy square background and yay!! He's done!
Hope this was interesting aaaa Thank you again for the ask!!

This painting captures a striking interplay between whimsy and mystery. At the center, a vibrant harlequin figure dressed in bold, multicolored patterns sits within a large, Russian-Egg-Shaped frame, symbolizing both fragility and transformation. The figure’s jester hat and ruffled collar add a playful, theatrical element, but the serene, almost melancholic expression suggests deeper layers of introspection. The background features a serene forest with towering, ethereal trees stretching toward the light, while the forest floor resembles a surreal, checkered pathway, creating an illusion of movement and depth. Floral elements surrounding the harlequin bring a touch of life and color, symbolizing the harmony between nature and human emotion. This captivating work explores themes of duality, concealment, and the passage between different worlds, inviting viewers to question what lies beneath the surface.

In the early twenty-first century digital image processing, transparency is a supported feature of (some but not all) image formats. As such, image editing and creation software needs a way to visually distinguish between segments which are removed to reveal a blank layer underneath (still part of the image), and segments which are actually absent (which will be rendered as whatever is beneath the image). The common convention is to use a grey checkerboard pattern. When transparent images are save into non transparent image formats, this pattern is often also saved.
As such, a grey checker board pattern is understood to represent an absence, in a literal sense. The artist here is using it to represent a symbolic absence. This is not a very common visual metaphor in the early twenty-first century, but it would be well understood by people with even a minimal background in digital imagery or internet usage.

#period novel details#it is interesting to think of artworks that are context dependent#Someone from 30 years ago probably would not understand this even if the emotions are unchanged#same for someone 30 years from now#but we here and now don't even need to be told and we can understand the intention of the effect#what would a contemporaneous individual instantly see in a Renaissance work that we lack the context for?#the same can be said for ANY art from#that's a fascinating thing about history and culture

AI Image Prompts (By Grok) - May 23rd 2025
AI Chat Link
Below are highly detailed example prompts you can use to generate images similar to the ones you provided. These prompts are designed to capture the intricate, fantastical, and symbolic elements present in the images, which include themes of mythology, cosmic landscapes, surrealism, and ornate architecture. Each prompt is tailored to inspire a rich, detailed output from an AI image generation tool.
Prompt 1: Mystical Eye Over a Gothic Tower
"Create a highly detailed fantasy artwork in the style of a Byzantine icon, featuring a massive, luminous eye with a vertical slit pupil, radiating golden rays of light in a circular halo. The eye hovers above a towering gothic cathedral nestled between rugged, misty mountains. The cathedral is adorned with intricate spires and stained glass, surrounded by a crowd of ethereal figures in flowing robes. The background is a rich golden gradient with subtle celestial motifs, including faint stars and angelic silhouettes. Use a color palette of deep blues, golds, and grays, with a surreal, otherworldly atmosphere. Add ornate borders with swirling patterns and miniature scenes of divine figures, blending elements of medieval art with a touch of cosmic mystery."
Prompt 2: Cosmic Celestial Figure
"Generate a breathtaking digital painting of a majestic, ethereal figure standing in a cosmic void, dressed in an elaborate robe of iridescent blues, purples, and golds with flowing, translucent layers adorned with star-like embellishments. The figure holds a glowing staff topped with a radiant star, surrounded by swirling galaxies, nebulae, and floating orbs of light. The background features a deep space scene with a large crescent moon and scattered stars, rendered in vibrant yet harmonious colors. Include intricate details such as ornate jewelry, a halo of golden light, and subtle hints of ancient architecture in the distance. The overall style should be a blend of fantasy art and psychedelic surrealism, with a focus on luminous textures and depth."
Prompt 3: Dragons Over a Dark Cityscape
"Create a detailed illustration of a dark, medieval cityscape under a full moon, dominated by three massive, intricately detailed dragons with shimmering black scales and outstretched wings. The dragons weave through the sky, their forms illuminated by the moonlight, casting dramatic shadows over the city’s towering spires and winding river. The city is filled with gothic architecture, including pointed arches and fortified walls, with armored warriors standing guard in the foreground. Use a moody color palette of deep blues, grays, and silvers, with accents of orange from the dragons' eyes and fiery breath. Add swirling clouds and ornate decorative borders with mythical motifs to enhance the epic, fantastical narrative."
Prompt 4: Mythological Balance Scene
"Design a surreal, symbolic artwork featuring a balanced scale floating in a dreamy, cloud-filled sky, with a flaming heart on one side and a white feather on the other. Flanking the scale are two winged mythological figures: an Egyptian ibis-headed deity holding an ankh on the left, and a robed figure with a starry headdress on the right, both exuding a divine aura. Below, a checkered floor supports a golden cube with a red rose and a white lily, guarded by two sphinxes with detailed wings and expressive faces. The background includes a sun and moon with human-like features, connected by an infinity symbol, rendered in a vibrant palette of yellows, greens, blues, and pinks. The style should evoke ancient mysticism with a touch of psychedelic art."
Prompt 5: Psychedelic Eye and Hand
"Produce a vibrant, psychedelic artwork featuring a large, fiery eye with a deep blue iris, surrounded by radiating flames and abstract patterns, set against a starry night sky. A massive yellow hand with two raised fingers emerges from the center, holding the eye aloft. The scene is filled with surreal elements: floating figures, crescent moons, and colorful landscapes with mountains, rivers, and exotic creatures. Incorporate bold, contrasting colors like orange, purple, blue, and green, with intricate, swirling designs and text overlays in a stylized script. The overall composition should feel chaotic yet harmonious, blending 1960s psychedelic art with a cosmic, spiritual theme."
Prompt 6: Ruins Under a Galactic Sky
"Create a detailed scene of ancient ruins with tall, crumbling columns adorned with ornate capitals, set against a backdrop of a vast, starry night sky featuring a glowing nebula in shades of red, orange, and purple. The ruins are partially covered with vines and wildflowers, with a reflective pool of water running through the center, mirroring the cosmos above. Fluffy white clouds drift through the scene, blending with the celestial expanse. Use a color palette of earthy tones for the ruins (beige, brown, green) contrasted with the vibrant hues of the galaxy. The atmosphere should feel mystical and timeless, with a hint of abandoned grandeur."
Prompt 7: Celestial Pathway with Arches
"Generate a stunning fantasy landscape featuring a long, marble pathway lined with golden arches and intricate railings shaped like mythical creatures, leading to a distant, glowing pagoda. The scene is set under a breathtaking sky filled with swirling clouds, stars, and a radiant nebula in gold and blue tones. Lush greenery and ornate columns flank the path, with subtle reflections of the cosmos on the polished stone. Use a luxurious color palette of whites, golds, blues, and greens, creating a sense of divine serenity and otherworldly beauty. The style should combine elements of classical architecture with a futuristic, celestial aesthetic."
Prompt 8: Abstract Cosmic Mind
"Design a psychedelic portrait of a human face in profile, with a closed eye and serene expression, set against a dark, starry background. The mind is depicted as an explosion of colorful, abstract shapes and patterns—geometric blocks, swirling lines, and vibrant hues of blue, yellow, purple, and red—representing thoughts and dreams. Incorporate cosmic elements like planets, stars, and nebulae within the abstract design, with a "SILOXYBIN" label in the corner for a psychedelic touch. The style should blend surrealism with digital art, emphasizing intricate details and a harmonious yet chaotic composition."
These prompts are crafted to inspire detailed, imaginative images that align with the themes and styles of the provided artwork. You can adjust the descriptions or add specific details (e.g., lighting, texture, or additional elements) to suit your preferences when using an AI image generation tool!
