Strange name, don't you think? "Hoagy" meaning a type of sandwich with a long roll and "Sprat" meaning a species of herring. BUT let's be real, Shane Madej didn't just pick that name out of nowhere though honestly it's also possible he just did for the funnies.

Well guess what, I plugged that name into an anagram solver, and

IT'S PYTHAGORAS ALL ALONG.

The most obvious answer is that Dr. Sprat is a reincarnation of Pythagoras especially considering the episode has a significant focus on reincarnation. This also pushes the idea that he is the ultimate mastermind behind everything even more. For instance, where could Elmer Walter Williams be getting the Phorgedytol supply? Who are the "fine folks" he always mentions? It would make sense if one of the smartest people in darn history is able to create a medicine that degrades your memory. Do you think he could be using the Phorgedytol to slowly take over the world and reassemble his cult?

For some less obvious threads:

Pythagoras sending one of his triangles to Purgatory isn't as nonsensical as you may think. For starters, cult leaders have a long history of killing their followers with the promise of a glorious afterlife which is exactly what Dr. Sprat did. Moreover, this could be a ploy to get the Triangle to indoctrinate the puppets in Purgatory and recruit more members in his cult.

Where did Estranged Producer Shane Madej go after he left the headquarters? His musing of death being at his doorway and warning of ominous forces plaguing the place may indicate he died on his way to the carriage. In that same episode, Pythagoras was alleged to be a murderer of one of his followers. Could Dr. Sprat be behind the murder?

The Professor mentioned that Pythagoras would probably be a coder had he been alive today. Could this imply the Substitute and Dr. Sprat working together, allowing the Substitute to go back and enact his revenge?

Alright so i already posted this request but Tumblr somehow deleted it. So i had to do it all over again. Well thankfully not the story, i fortunately wrote it in the notes, i learned that lesson the hard way. Anyway along with a story the request itself was deleted. So i think this is how the request went, if it was your request message me if it was wrong. Also i had a really hard time with this request, i don't know why i just wasn't inspired, well probably more tired from college than inspired, but that's why it took so long. I wanted to do it right. Also for anyone else who send me a request i saw it, and i will right it as soon as my obligations allow me some free time. Also i did the P. O. V. thing so don't get confused. Steve's P. O. V.

As soon as he saw her enter the kitchen Chris was out of his seat smothering her in a hug, but Natasha and Steve, hung back and watched with frowns on their faces.

They stayed quiet during their conversation occasionally sipping coffee.

Their stubbornness and Steve's persistence in making sure both him and the team stay out of this complicated and deeply personal situation, rendered them mute, as they stood there cold and stoic, as they sipped on their coffee.

Many would say the intimacy in the embrace, those gentle smiles, and completely unnecessary gazes they were curently being subjected to were highly inappropriate and Steve would have to agree with them.

The more he watched, the more sorry he felt for his friend. But no, Steve wasn't angry at her, he was hurt. How could such a sweet girl be so uncaring? No one deserves this kind of treatment, his friend the least. He's been through so much already, Steve thought you out of all people understood this.

He lost so much, did he have to lose you too?

You were the rock that kept thing moving, a force anyone could fall back on if needed to be. And you want to abandon it all, for this Chris, a man you barely know compared to his friend.

Steve knew he was letting his feelings cloud his judgement, and you haven't really done anything but spent time with a man you claimed was your friend, a man that was your partner. He knew he spent just as much, if not more time with Natasha and she was one of his most valued friends.

Also, Chris seemed like a nice guy, the kind of man if you were still single he'd advise you to go for.

But that's it, you weren't single. In fact you were in a committed relationship with the most important person in his life.

He was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and he didn't know what to do. Invade his best friend's privacy or let his best friend be hurt when he could at least cushion the blow.

One more look at the 'lovely couple' and he decided, privacy be damned, his friend deserves honesty at least and he was gonna make sure he got it for him.

"Steve.." a voice trailed off cautiously, he looked over the see Natasha leaning on the counter facing them, with her head turned towards him looking at him.

"I know, Nat." he knew he shouldn't have snapped, it wasn't her fault. She sighed.

"Steve it should be one of us, I know it sucks to hurt him like that, but it's even worse if he caught them, and we knew but didn't tell him."Like always the redhead was right, but he still tried to reason with her.

"But she hasn't done anything yet Natasha, we can't make things up when they didn't happen."

She rolled her eyes at his statement. "Yes, Steve, she hasn't done anything, yet Steve. The key word being yet. Come on, Steve! They've known each other for only two months, and they are joined at the hip. If you think Bucky didn't notice you are mistaken. Dude's been giving her the kicked puppy eyes for days now and she hasn't even noticed choosing to ogle at her new beau. This calls for revenge! "The redhead took a deep breath and said.

" He is your best friend Steve, if the rolls were reversed wouldn't you like him to say something? "

Steve didn't respond, it wasn't necessary, they both knew the answer. Instead of pushing him, Natasha gently squeezed his shoulder and left him in the kitchen to think it over.

An hour later Steve was letting out his anger on a punching bag. The more he thought about it, the more conflicted he got.

This wasn't his relationship but it was his friend. Thou you were his friend too, after Peggy's death you along with Natasha were there for him, hell you've spent the whole day making jokes just to make him forget.

You were like Bucky, the Bucky from before, not just before The Winter Soldier, but before the war. The guy that got him in a lot of trouble and the guy that stood by him and protected him when he took a bite too large to swallow.

The man that took him to many unsuccessful dates, his companion, his family, it's what drew him to you.

You were a sense reality in the world that no longer made sense, a familiar face in a strange place.

Although he wanted to protect his friend, he also felt oddly protective of you. He couldn't betray your trust, but he couldn't betray Bucky either.

Why did this has to be so hard? He thought and punched the punching bag so hard it ripped and fell few feet away.

"What did that punch bag ever do to you?" Said a man Steve was successfully avoiding since this morning.

"Oh, hey Buck. What's up?" he said trying to act nonchalant. "I could ask you the same thing. Why are you avoiding me? Did i do something?" Bucky demanded.

"I'm not avoiding you." Steve mildly shrugged. Glaring at him he got closer almost to his face. "What the hell is going on?"

Steve could hear the anger in his voice, but also hurt, trying to protect him he's the one that ended up hurting him.

"Nothing, Buck." Steve said. "Listen here, punk!

"It's bad enough the love of my life could possible be cheating on me right now, now i can't even trust you!? What the hell man?"

Steve looked at his best friend, his eyes were puffy, tears threatening to spill, but he refused to let them fall, he had dark bags under his eyes, he hasn't been sleeping well, his hands shaking in anger, this was a man already hurt.

"Look i wanted to tell you about her, but I didn't want to betray her either so I've been ignoring you both so i don't hurt anyone. I guess that ship sailed." He said, his friend deserved honestly at least he can get it from him.

"You think she's cheating on me?" asked Bucky. "I don't know, man. I did not see her so anything, from all we know we're just making stuff up."

Steve frowned, even thou he shouldn't do it now, he was defending her. "You're a good friend, Steve. But i didn't ask what you saw, i want a yes or no answer." Bucky said.

"Why do i matter, why are you asking me? If you really wanted to know you'd ask her. But you're asking me because you know i will never give you that answer. So why are you asking me, Buck?" Steve demanded.

Bucky glared at him, before he grabbed his shoulder giving him a smile." You're a punk, kid."Bucky said, paused to inhale and exhale before continuing." It's because i don't really wanna know. I love her, Steve. If fact i love her so much that even thou, she 's literally ripping me in half, my brain is still finding a reason to forgive her. That she loves me and it's all a mistake. I'm pathetic."

Bucky lowered his head, squeezed his shoulder again, let go and turned to leave.

At the door Steve voice halted him in place.

" You're not pathetic. You love her. Knowing you my whole life, you were never soft on a dame like that. I'm sorry it had to be like this."

Without turning around Bucky whispered. "Me too." And left.

Steve could see it bright as day this man was a mess. He had to do something, you might be his friend, and it wasn't his business , but he was about to confront you.

Steve knew you, you were not a coward.

He would get you to tell the truth, perhaps it wasn't too late. You need to be honest and you might even work it out with Bucky.

Taking his phone out of his pocket he texted you to meet him in his room.

Your P. O. V.

After the workout Chris suggested you go to the diner you always go after a successful mission.

"Come on it's been some time since we been there." Snorting at that statement you replied. "We literally went there two days ago."

Groaning Chris whined. "Exactly, too long, come on i know you can practically taste those fries and that strawberry and vanilla milkshake you like. Eh, it will be fun and if i may say so i make great company."

Although the offer was tempting, and you really could taste those fries and that delicious milkshake, you had to go home to your boyfriend.

You missed him so much, and judging by those sad eyes he's been giving you he missed you just as much, if not more.

The missions you were being sent on this past month left little to no time for your relationship, and now having to prepare for an undercover mission of great importance and you weren't allowed to speak about it with anyone according to Maria, you were forced to spend all your free time with Chris.

Well forced was a harsh word, Chris was a great man and an amazing partner, but he wasn't your boyfriend.

"Sorry gotta take a rain check." You mumbled apologetically. Chris smiled and pulled you in for a hug.

"Hey i get it, if i had a hunk like that waiting for me at home, i wouldn't even bother talking to you. Scram, kid." You arched an eyebrow on chuckling. "Is that so? "

"I'd fuck him."

As you were nearing your apartment your phone buzzed. Looking at the screen you saw you had a text from Steve. Opening it read' We need to talk, met me at my place'.

Steve was not the best texter but he never sounded this urgent and formal. If this was about the mission he would have asked meat at The Tower, this was personal.

Something was wrong.

All it took was three knocks to be met with Steve's hard gaze, he stood aside allowing you to come in.

"So we need to talk?Are you breaking up with me Steve?"A light-hearted joke that was meant to brighten the mood was met with a glare. Okay, not the right crowd.

"Listen, i know it's non of my business and you're my friend, but this needs to end. What the hell is going on with you and Chris? "

Steve asked firmly before placing his hands on his belt buckle. You knew that stance, you've seen it a million times, it was meant to frighted and send a message that he met business.

You never thought you's see it being used on you. But you weren't so easily scared.

"You're right, Steve it's non of your business ." You replied defensively. Who was he thinking he could question you?

"You're right, but i don't care. I'm the one who has to watch my friend heartbroken when you leave with Chris, so excuse me if I'm a little protective. Just don't. Own up to it." Steve said.

"Own up to what, Steve? Heartbroken? My Bucky? What the hell is going on?" You demanded. You have done nothing to Bucky. What the hell is he talking about?"You hurt him and..." Steve began but you cut him off. "Hurt him i haven' t even spoken to him!" You piped up.

"Exactly."

Bucky's P. O. V.

Knowing he couldn't stay cupped up in his room with all those thoughts swearing in his head Bucky decided to take a walk, and by walk he meant a run, muttering angry at nothing and panting wildly.

He wasn't sure if he was panting because he was tired from the aggressive run or the work his mind put him through.

He decided the latter.

As if he was cursed to suffer today, he ran into the last person he wanted to see. Chris strolled up to him, a bright smile on his face, as if he wasn't the cause to his misery. Some nerve on this guy!

"Hey, Buck right?" he said to Bucky holding his hand for him to shake. Bucky just looked down at it frown.

"Not a hand shaker? Alright, i get it. I'm getting used on it myself.Also some say it's unhygienic."

What pissed of Bucky even more was that Chris wasn't even fazed by Bucky unfriendly stance. This guy!

"Anyway i just wanted to meet the man my partner won't shut up about. I mean that woman's got you on a pedestal you'd think your shooting rainbow out of your ass."

Keep rubbing salt to an open wound, Bucky though. This dude was something else.

"Look man, i don't really know her for that long, but she's kinda grown on me. She's one heck of a woman. She means a lot to me and... " Bucky cut him of. "I can imagine." He remarked through his teeth.

"No, you really can't, she has been there for me after the war, you know when you get back everyone keeps walking on egg shells around you, it's a strange place, even the bed feels wrong, too soft. But she made me feel human."

Suddenly the anger for the man was gone and all that was left was confusion. Chris was a marine? It would explain his posture.

" She's not afraid to hold me, i thank God or whatever is out there everyday for a friend like her. "

Bucky knew what he was talking about oh to well, she made him fell the same. She was comfort, she was peace, she was his home.

" Why are you telling me all of this? "Bucky asked.

" Because I'm not blind, i know a jealous man when i see one. She holds me because it helps me relax, not because she is in love with me. Don't even try to deny it. I know what it feels to love her, but you know what it feels like to be loved by her. If anyone has the right to be jealous, it's me. Don't screw this up, man. See ya. "

Before Bucky even had the chance to process what Chris had said, he turned and ran the other way.

Walking into your room you felt oddly nervous. You didn't even know it but you've made the man you love, a man in doubt.

He now questioned your love and you did not even notice. Sure you saw a bit of sadness but regarded it as him simply missing you.

Not a man heartbroken and riddled with insecurities. He probably hasn't even slept right and you didn't see it.

There was no reason for your fear, the room was empty, no Bucky in sight. Footsteps in the hallway made you turn around. Walking out of the room you followed the footsteps into the hallway, outside your apartment, down the stairs and only when you were outside did you catch the glimpse of the man of our.

Gathering enough courage you called out Bucky who at the sound of your voice turned and froze.

The tension was high, you could feel it in the air as you stared at one another.

Just as you opened your mouth to speak not even knowing what to say Bucky crossed the distance, grabbed you by the back of your neck and kissed you.

It only took you a second to respond, the kiss was desperate, teeth clashing, tongues fighting for dominance, while hands roamed all over, pulling, squeezing.

Pulling away for air you kept your eyes closed. "Tell me you love me." Pleaded Bucky, making you feel even more guilty.

Opening your eyes your hands sneaked themselves around his neck pulling until your forehead touched his own.

"I'm not sure about a lot of things Bucky. But there is one thing i am sure about and that is that i love you, James Buchanan Barnes, i love you and i always will. I'm sorry i ever made you doubt my love. "

"No, i am the one that's sorry. I shouldn't have doubted you in the first place. I got so stuck in my own head. I'm sorry. I love you so much, doll."

"I love you. Let's just forget about it and agree that from now on we will talk about this things. No holding back. "

"You're right. From now, we talk. But please be patient with me. And do me a favor, will you."

So I have this AU/headcanon where the parents are the children and the children are the parents.

Since I don’t watch TW, I’m not familiar with all the parents, so I’m just gonna write: Stiles-John, Allison-Chris, Scott-Melissa, and Derek-Peter (because I can :P). All of them are single parents.

Stiles - Sheriff: Stiles is the funky and clumsy sheriff of BH. Eats french fries too much that his son, John, would steal his fries if he sees his dad eating one (for him to eat it himself). Stiles is an overbearing parent who doesn’t understand the concept of TMI. Always tries to get John to open up emotionally. John is a goodie two shoes who cares about his dad a lot, but sometimes he’s had enough of his dad’s bullshit stories & rambles (which sometimes turns out to be fucking true). Stiles is someone who works too much that he forgets to eat, and sometimes oversleeps on the kitchen table, doing his work. John will always remind to eat, and whenever Stiles tries to get out of it, he wouldn’t take a no & do this “you’re going to eat and that’s final”-stance until Stiles relents. Stiles has a crush on Derek, but John doesn’t like it & tells Stiles to stay away from Derek because Derek looks sketchy, when actually, he doesn’t like Stiles dating Derek because he has a crush on Peter, the BH’s resident bad boy, and Derek’s nephew, and he definitely doesn’t want Stiles to know that he swings both ways because Stiles is the type of dad who would wear a rainbow suit & hat to school to show his support for his child, the nightmare. Stiles always takes John, Melissa, & Chris every morning to school before he goes to work.

Allison - Chris: Allison opens an archery range & shop. She’s a caring mother and her son, Chris, is very overprotective of her despite his young age. Allison and her ex husband had a bad breakup and Chris hated his father a lot, because he made his mother miserable. Allison forbids Chris to learn archery because it’s dangerous, so Chris learns how to shoot a gun in secret. Allison is best friends with Scott & Stiles and they hold barbecue parties together lots of times, and even though Chris doesn’t show it, he enjoys it a lot because it means he can see John, his childhood friends who is also his secret crush. He won’t tell anyone this, but when he’s younger, he used to have a crush on John’s dad, because Stiles is so nice and happy to everyone. This ~forbidden crush~ of his is also a part why he’s afraid to tell John that he likes him, because he feels guilty. Allison picks the kids up every afternoon from school. Allison has a secret relationship with Scott, and nobody can know, especially Stiles and Chris. Stiles, because he can’t keep secrets; Chris, because he probably won’t approve.

Scott - Melissa: Scott opens up a vet clinic. He’s a very nice dad who never outgrows his puppy-like charm (he used to say that he would be like a huge, cool, Doberman when he’s older, but no, Scott, just no). Melissa is a nagging daughter, similar to John. She helps his dad on weekends on the clinic. She works with Peter at the weekend, and she has a crush on him. His dad is aware of that and he also thinks Peter likes her back; that’s why he has a hate/love relationship with Peter, who is undeniably a good worker. Scott is too nice to other people that sometimes they try to take advantage of him, and Melissa, who’s always a more sensible person than her dad, tries to keep him out of it most of the time. She’s a very compassionate, she fosters many abandoned animals, much to Scott’s protest (“we don’t have space anymore…”), but since he can’t say no to anyone, including his daughter, he decided to open a pet shelter, which is very popular in BH.

Derek - Peter: Derek is Peter’s uncle, he was a retired basketball player, and he recently moved into BH. He’s BHHS’s PE teacher now. He also opened a garage/car service shop, which also serves as his & Peter’s home. Peter lost his parents because of a car crash, and Derek without a second thought took him in & formally adopted him. Derek and Peter has a weird relationship where most of their conversations would end up with bickering or Peter annoying Derek. Derek has a crush on one of his student’s dad, Stiles. Every morning, he watches the parking lot, waiting for that old blue jeep to come, just to get a glance of the cute dad who drops three kids every day. Peter has a part time job in Scott’s clinic, and he loves his job a lot because he loves to prank his gullible boss. Peter knows that Scott thinks he likes Melissa, and he doesn’t want to correct him, because his crush is actually the silent kid with the gorgeous eyes, Chris, and he doesn’t want anyone to know about it. But Derek knows about this, and tries make Peter be friends with John/Chris/Melissa, so Peter would be invited to their weekly barbecue, and by extension, Derek would be invited too, and that means he can see Stiles more. But Peter’s an asshole, and even though he likes to be the center of attention, his social skills are bad. Out of those three, only Melissa approves of him, because he knows that she likes him. Chris doesn’t like him because he’s to crass (which makes Peter wants to be more crass to get Chris’s attention). That John kid is a bit weird around him because he would avoid looking at Peter in the eye.

I know this is a haha funny joke post, but ever since seeing this, it genuinely helped me reframe situations, and it has at least made some positive impact on my mental health, so I'm glad to see it again. Filipino!Dr. Sprat for no reason other than I think it's cool, and I'm Filipino, so I have a moral obligation to hit every character I like with the Filipino beam. Headcanons be upon ye now

This goes hand-in-hand with Filipino!Professor primarily so that Dr. Sprat can flex how much Tagalog he knows towards the Professor who was cursed with the "being forced to learn only English" beam.

He would really enjoy learning Tagalog and hit everyone around him with the "Tinuka ng pitong puting pato ang pitumpot-pitong puting puto" and also hit them with Tagalog words that literally no one uses anymore.

He would mock the Professor and Ryan in Tagalog, and the both of them would be fuming because they know he's insulting them, but they can't fire back.

He would bring a bunch of puto after shoots and would say, "You're this except the o is replaced with the a" and the Professor would look at him very confused, chewing halfway through the puto before it clicks, and he throws the puto on the floor out of sheer rage. Meanwhile Ryan got it immediately and was laughing the entire time.

HE WOULD LOVE OPM. HE WOULD BE SO ANNOYING ABOUT OTSO OTSO.

Other factors to consider

You are actually taking your time to read unlike in middle school where you have a quota + deadline to catch up to.

You haven't read in a while, so of course it will take a bit to get back to your former reading level.

You have a lot more stuff going on in your brain! As simple as that.

And as stated here, you're going to engage with a book more differently when you're older. I remember getting back into reading last month and lamenting how slow I was compared to when I read regularly, but that was an unfair expectation I placed on myself. Not only was I reading a 400-page book from the 1800s—hence the language took me a while to comprehend and get used to—but I was actively engaging with the events happening and reacting to them.

Getting back into reading is a lot easier when you allow yourself to go at the pace you're comfortable with and think about the story more deeply than you did as a kid. Keep at it, and you'll eventually get your reading stamina back.

If you're lamenting the fact that you used to be able to shoot through a 500-page novel in like a day when you were in middle school and now you can't, it's worth bearing in mind that a big part of that is because when you were in middle school, your reading comprehension sucked. Yes, mental health and the stresses of adult life can definitely be factors, but it's also the case that reading is typically more effortful as an adult because you've learned to Ponder The Implications. The material isn't just skimming over the surface of your brain anymore, and some of the spoons you used to spend on maximising your daily page count are now spent on actually thinking about what you're reading!

I'll forever be upset about how Elemental (2023 Pixar movie) flopped so hard, and it's not even its fault.

Let's be real, going against Across the Spiderverse would be a deathblow for any animated movie, but the marketing team REALLY didn't help matters. Not only did the trailers barely show up (to the point my friends DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT EXISTED), the trailers also did such a poor job representing its actual story.

A lot of people were turned off by the "unoriginal premise" as well as the "forbidden romance", and I can't even blame them but no!!! The story is so much more than just "ooo they can't fall in love because they're (gasp) FIRE AND WATER?!?!?!?" and "what if (insert concept) has emotions but elements this time"!!!!!

At the heart of it all is a personal immigrant story. A story about two fire people moving to another place in order to start a new and hopefully better life (aka literally immigrants). A story about their daughter who feels in debt to them for making the sacrificd to leave their home. A story about her feeling like she'll have to sacrifice her whole life and her dreams in order to repay them and make them happy.

Not to mention how Asian-coded it is!!! The director, Peter Sohn, is clearly writing from his perspective as a Korean-American immigrant, and as an Asian immigrant, I resonated so unbelievably hard with Ember's story. It really felt like the movie held up a mirror in front of me. I've never felt this seen in a movie before this one.

And it feels so good!!! I'm so sad that a lot of people will be missing it out because the marketing team did such a terrible job at their literal jobs. If more people gave it a chance, they'll likely find a story that truly made them feel heard.

Also the romance is really cute. Like I don't typically seek out romance stories, but damn that was good food, that was good fluff. I think it's also a great allegory for interracial couples, but I'm not in an interracial relationship, so I won't overstep too much!

Long story short, if you're unsure on whether you really want to see this movie or not, hear it from me who saw it twice:

I’m leaving the Watcher fandom. Don’t worry, I won’t be unfollowing anyone, but I will be ceasing the creation of art for Watcher and interaction with the community at large. The long of it

It’s been a couple of days since a certain channel dropped an announcement that imploded its fandom. It was… a mess. A lot—and I mean a lot—of us didn’t handle the news well, and we made that known to everyone. The impact was so massive that YouTubers, who are nowhere near the niche that Watcher operates under, covered the situation, and some of them explained very well why the decision went over so poorly. Meanwhile some of them made fun of the situation, and some were just there for the clicks, but that’s the cycle of YouTube drama for you.

With the amount of ears waiting for even a peep out of their mouths, Watcher couldn’t ignore the backlash any longer and released an apology video three days after the announcement. By all accounts, it was a pretty good response. The reception was mixed, but it was definitely more well-received than their first video, and they actually listened to their fans who gave them valid criticism over the sudden shift to a streaming service.

However…

For as much as I appreciate their response, I still can’t find it in myself to continue following Watcher. I really mean it when I say this disaster soured any enjoyment I had for them. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch them again for a long time without thinking about this situation or remembering the people they have hurt, even if unintentionally, through their poor execution of a business decision.

Do I believe they could’ve pulled off moving their content to a streaming service? Absolutely. However, so many factors doomed this decision and their announcement from the start from them believing that $5.99/month was “affordable to everyone” (seriously?) to them insisting that this was for the fans even though the fans have vocalized that they were never there for the high production value. They were there because the three guys who run Watcher were enjoyable!

I feel like if they had been honest about the fact that the TV quality they are aiming for was more for themselves than anyone–hell, it’s the mission statement in their About page, and, I don’t know, considered the idea that $6 is not cheap, especially for international fans, people wouldn’t have gotten so angry at them. Now, there are still numerous issues plaguing this business model, but to go through all of the arguments would require a separate post, and I’ve already expended too much energy on this situation. Needless to say, Watcher has burnt their bridges, and it will take a while before they can build them back up again, let alone get people to trust them enough to cross them.

On the other hand, I can’t blame Watcher fully for my departure. Despite my heavy disagreement with their initial decision, I understand why they thought this decision was a good idea in the first place as YouTube is a very unstable career path, and it would rather hurt its creators with its relentless demonetization, censorship and restrictive guidelines than give up just a tiny amount of its profit. Besides, they’re in control of their content, and they could do what they want with it even if their fans disagreed with them.

Speaking of the fans, my god. The situation revealed a side of the fandom that I never thought I would see, but in hindsight, I should have seen it coming. To see fans resort to anti-Asian racism and death threats so quickly was extremely heartbreaking, and as an Asian person, it made me feel very unsafe and unwelcome in the community.

Moreover, using Steven as a scapegoat to absolve Ryan and Shane of any wrongdoing was unfortunately a very common response. Yes, he is the CEO, and yes, his series being centered on traveling and eating expensive food really doesn’t paint him in a positive light, but need I remind you that RYAN AND SHANE ARE GROWN ADULTS. They’re the founders of Watcher, and they both have to agree to the initial plan for it to be implemented. You can’t assume that Steven was a boogeyman terrorizing your precious little boys just based on a 15-minute video. You don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.

All of this to say that the initial announcement combined with how the community reacted violently to the announcement really nipped my interest in Watcher in the bud. It was a shame too because I really did love Watcher, and I still do. Had it not been for the time I invested in following them, I wouldn’t have made great friends, regained the joy in creating art–even reviving a hobby/skill that I assumed was long dead, and had a reason to be able to laugh or smile even in terrible days. I truly am grateful for Watcher, and I do not regret ever getting into them at all. However, I think it’s time for me to go.

Thank you all for this weird and wonderful ride, but at some point, you’ll have to hop off. I just didn’t expect to hop off it so soon.

I know in canon, the Substitute/Hologram Professor is a cartoony mastermind of a villain who is one step ahead of Ryan and determined to achieve his evil plans, but in my heart and soul, he is a teenage girl.

He would write in his diary with pink gel pens about how he plans to skin Ryan alive. He would talk on the phone giggling and kicking his feet even though there is no one on the other end. He would listen to Olivia Rodrigo's "get him back!" and think "ME FOR REAL!!!"

This guy is barely a year old. The only reason he acts like an adult is because his programming requires him to do so. But without that? His core self is a hollow shell who could never truly grow up to be his own person.

Think of it this way: you don't know if you're gonna be straight forever. Maybe one day when you're an adult, you'll see someone the same gender that makes your reconsider your entire sexuality. Yet people never urge you to "wait until you're old enough to figure it out".

Why do people only do this with kids who consider themselves as LGBT+, even more so if they're aromantic, asexual or both?

Just remember you'll never be intrusive, you won't be taking up "too much space" or "taking away resources" (whatever that means), and you will always, always be welcomed. Sexuality is a fluid thing! If you later realize you're something else, the time you spent with the previous community isn't wasted, and we'd never feel betrayed if you feel otherwise.

Sexuality isn't deciding how you felt and how you will feel forever and ever. It's deciding how you feel now.

Unpopular (?) opinion:

When I was young and wondering why I hadn't experienced a crush yet, the internet said I was probably just a late bloomer. They urged me not to identify as aroace because I could change my mind later on.

And looking back, like… so?

If I had been a late bloomer, who cares?

I was 13. I felt comfort in the aroace community. I didn’t feel like a weirdo for once in my life, surrounded by people who were like me. But I was urged to not join these communities until I became an adult in case I changed my mind about being ace. So I didn’t. And I paid for that.

Who cares? If you’re young and feel like you’re aroace, then you’re aroace. If you “change your mind” later, it’s okay. No one is going to be born and know themselves 100%. I genuinely thought I was alloromantic once, but now know I’m not.

Speaking from experience, I would rather have kids be “wrong” about their sexuality than feel like they have no place of belonging.

We shouldn’t gatekeep aroace folk because of their age. It hurts. It makes kids feel like they are the freaks society tells them they are.

By painting two blue squares or taping a banana on the wall to mock artists and their yearn to attach meaning to everything, you actually challenged the traditional perception of art, generating discussion, visceral reactions, and most of all, meaning to the mocking artwork you made which is the core of why artists make art in the first place. It's "musing and going crazy over Puppet History" hours, let's get it

Y'know what Bat Nonnie's ask to me (thank you Bat Nonnie :3) finally got me to release this thought I've been keeping in the drafts for a while. Dr. Sprat, the Genie and everyone else interested in the eradication of the puppets claim that their continued existence will mess up space, time and the whole universe. However, there is a whole mess of problems with that premise.

First of all, aren't God and Death also puppets? Do they not count under the puppets who will supposedly mess up the fabric of the universe? If so, why are they spared from Purgatory? And what would happen if Dr. Sprat and Elmer tried to eradicate them? I feel like removing literally God and Death will mess up the universe more than these puppets!!!

Moreover, don't Dr. Sprat and Elmer count as those puppets? Do they plan on sacrificing themselves to Purgatory for this nebulous cause? Likely not. This is why I don't buy into the idea and believe they are using it as an excuse to carry out a scheme they're hiding from everyone else—my current idea being that Dr. Sprat as the reincarnation of Pythagoras is trying to revive the Pythagoreanism cult with Elmer Walter Williams as the first member of the new age (though lowkey Bat Nonnie's theory is really interesting, and I recommend looking over it)

This is why I also believe the Professor is getting the axe and likely Ryan too (taking this opportunity to redirect you to finalgirlbergara's theories which also propose that the Professor is getting the axe) They'll use this premise and use it against the Professor who is not only a puppet but also the entire cause of this mess in the first place to send him to Purgatory. And because Ryan will obviously object to that and is no longer easily persuaded to take the Phorgedytol, they will likely take him down with the Professor whether it'd be sending him to Purgatory with the Professor or just straight up finishing the Substitute's job.

In conclusion: Y'all????????

🎉 I FINISHED FRAGGLE ROCK SEASON 1 EVERYONE LET'S GO LET'S GO 🎉

What a fantastic season all around!! I'm so happy that I got recommended this show by my lovely friend Gem 'cause it was such a delight and a perfect treat to give myself after graduating high school :D

Where do I even begin with this show? Let's get the obvious out of the way: everything regarding the art direction and the puppetry was stunning from the character designs to the colour direction to the sets they built. They built such an immersive, creative world and blended vibrant and naturalistic colours so well.

Shout out to the voice actors! Every very single one of them gave it their all and brought their own character to life. Not to mention how they double as their puppeteers. I really do believe that puppeteers are magicians since they made the puppets so expressive with their acting even though they don't really change their faces.

Howevet, the heart of it all is the story, especially the character writing. The Fraggle Five—love the nickname btw—are all so charming with their unique personalities that compliment each other so well, so no matter who's the star of the episode or who's paired with who, you're in for a ride of well-thought out character development and fun banter. Each of them bring something new to the table like Gobo's levelheadedness, Mokey's gentleness, Red's boldness, Boober's neuroticism and Wembley's... wembling :P (I'm jesting, but I can't resist that ehe)

I adore how the power of friendship is such a dominant theme as presented by how much they care for each other. I love even more that sometimes, they suck! They can be quite mean to each other at times, and while they don't mean to be malicious, they still hurt each other, and they have to remedy that. It's very realistic to how friend groups actually work, and it enhances the sweetness of the times where they do support each other. Moreover, it's a really good lesson for kids to learn. In general, Fraggle Rock has great ideas and delivers them very well, so not only kids but also older audiences will greatly benefit from watching this show and taking in its themes.

Overall, I cannot wait to see what the rest of this show has to offer, and I'm so happy to have hopped on the ride. My only problem with it is that I got a fCKUING CRUSH ON UNCLE TRAVELING MATT WHAT THE F. FRAGGLE-
