After Deborah Eakins read the recent CBC News investigation about Loblaw, Sobeys and Walmart grocery stores overcharging customers by selling underweighted meat, she weighed her ground beef. To her surprise, the meat, bought at Sobeys-owned Pete's Frootique in the Halifax area, appeared to have been weighed with the hard plastic packaging. CBC News purchased three packages of ground beef from the same store and got the same results. The calculated overcharge was $1.23 — six per cent on the $21.29 bill. Under federal regulations, posted net weights for packaged food — and prices based on that weight — can't include the packaging.

So there's a class action lawsuit against google for spying on users who had the "don't track me" toggle turned on.
If you are in the US, had google's tracking "paused", and used a mobile device with that account at any time since 2016, you count. That going to be nearly every American who has ever poked with the privacy settings.
Google sent my email about about this straight to the spam folder. I'm not going to say they did that on purpose, but no matter if it's malicious supression of information or a poorly tuned auto filter, it's, uh, lets say "funny".
So yeah, go check your spam folders, guys.

Take Walmart's money by June 5, 2024
If you've shopped at a Walmart grocery store since 2018, they probably owe you $10; to get it, fill out this form by June 5, 2024.
You don't have to give them your banking info, just an email address.

Yo everyone who's bought the Ben 10 complete collection, be warned it's false advertising. It's missing half of Omniverse season 4&5 alongside all of 6&7.
youtube
I dunno if you've bought it yet or not @catgirlxox but just in case you have I'd definitely consider returning it.
I fucking hate false advertising. WB should absolutely be sued for it. This is atrocious. The box literally says it contains all 80 episodes of Omniverse not the 40 in the box.
Especially when the box set costs 100$. It's fucking scummy as shit.

A Quebec law firm has proposed a class-action lawsuit against Costco Canada alleging unfair pricing. Perrier Attorneys says the retailer charged more for items online than in-store, a practice known as “double ticketing,” which is banned under the Competition Act. It also alleges Costco provided false or misleading information about additional charges like shipping fees. It claims the retailer failed to inform customers some items were available in-store, giving the impression that they were only sold online — and at a higher price. Ibrahim El Bechara, who is leading the case, highlights over a dozen instances of price discrepancies from purchases he made in 2024 in the 17-page lawsuit filed on Dec. 23.

"While the settlement appears to be a victory for Apple users after months of mediation, it potentially lets Apple off the hook pretty cheaply.
If the court had certified the class action and Apple users had won, Apple could've been fined more than $1.5 billion under the Wiretap Act alone, court filings showed."
