Though much of London did not survive the Blitz, the oldest house in the city remains standing. Shortened over the years, Cloth Fair was once a market place teeming with textile merchants and vendors.
The Adventures of Charls, the Veretian Clothing Merchant still holds up as being one of the funniest things I have ever read. Just pure comedy. Perfection. No notes.
This is long overdue! Immy in Dalish clothing inspired by pre-colonial Filipino clothes, specifically Bisayan. This isn’t meant to be an accurate description but rather fantasy design that’s inspired by my culture ❤️

[ID: two uncoloured digital drawings of an original, stylised Flatland character named Liz on white backgrounds.
Liz is a humanoid creature with a seven point star-shaped head, one eye, an amputated left forearm and a long tail with a star on the end.
In the first image, Liz is wearing a shirt, with the right sleeve rolled up and the left sleeve tied at the elbow, under a waistcoat. She is also wearing oversized trousers with a patch on one knee, platform boots and has a tote bag filled with rolled up papers slung over her shoulder. They are posed mid-stride and waving out their right hand while looking to the right.
In the second image, Liz is wearing an oversized tee and plaid pj bottoms. They are sitting down and slightly slumped over. Her arms are let dangle down by her sides and her tail is curled up and around her body. Her eye is half-lidded in a tired expression.
The Adventures of Charls the Veretian Cloth Merchant // Dark Rise
In a random mood to praise CS Pacat. I remember when I finished reading Dark Rise, the ending very much reminded me of how The Adventures of Charls the Veretian Cloth Merchant ended. That the writing kept building up the banger last line and that it made me want to know what happens next at the same time is the perfect way to close the story. I don't know what it's called in writing/literature or if it even has a name but the way CS Pacat interweaves dialogue and narration makes up a timing element (similar to delivering a punchline I guess) that I as reader is able to imagine the scene playing like a clip in a movie. I can also imagine when the credits start rolling haha. It's so cool.
