wrote a song about the version of myself i imagine i am when im convinced im a narcissist
Spitting open salt, the tilt spilling over it, A pillaging admission from a guilt tripping hypocrite, A tentative remission from trip sitting associates, A cyclical addition in a chain of getting over it,
The narc in me's a problem, it's a bottle twisted closed, a Chronic illness, trichonosis in my shit, I nematoda, Probability to change is lookin' willfully the lowest, Appeal to nature's a way to keep the victims in my notice, I'm really feelin' myself.
The villain's my truest of selves, Affiliates peeling apart at the seams, it seems, is pinnacle health.
Impatiently stealing the racks by the ream, I deal in innocent wealth,
A station that keeps me inside of the team, I steal in imminent stealth.
A pity the people apart of the problem are probably piecing together a bountiful alibi,
Little ability otherwise aiming to angle the blame at themselves, or admit a lie,
Listen to me and my issues, I'm innocent, honest, I'm killin' with kind of a silly vibe,
If it's your mission to question my ethics, I promise they'll miss you when I make your body die,
I mean I'm not that guy, I'm a generous individual, and I'm so kind It's my strenuous imposition, though, to live this mind, It's impetuous to try to grow, I know I've tried
I propose in a code, that my load is obscene, Apropos of the goading imposed on the scene, That I chose to implode over no good reason, What's it like to exist with a record so clean?

˚ ✧ synopsis ✧ ˚
In a world ravaged by the Veris virus, the Consortium created the Epitaph System—a brutal solution to save what remains of humanity through genetic matching and blood transfusion. One match lives. One dies.
You’ve spent your life hacking systems and surviving in the shadows of Veyrah's broken sectors. Namjoon has spent his perfecting the algorithm that keeps the last fragments of civilization alive. When you're identified as a 100% match—unprecedented, dangerous, perfect—the clock starts ticking.
60 days until one of you dies.
60 days forced together across war-torn sectors, completing missions, dodging assassins, and fighting rebel factions—including your own.
60 days to despise the person whose blood might save you.
You hate him for creating the system that executed your parents. He loathes you for threatening the fragile order he's sacrificed everything to maintain.
But as the broken world around you continues to crumble, you might both discover something far more destructive than hatred.
Understanding.

I’m writing a therapist character and one of the main things I’m having trouble with is their relationships outside of work. What are the boundaries I should be aware of?
Writing Notes: Therapist-Client Boundary
Boundary - (in psychotherapy) an important limit that is usually set by the therapist as part of the ground rules in treatment.
Boundaries may involve areas of discussion (e.g., the therapist’s personal life is off limits)
or physical limits (e.g., rules about touching), which are
guided by ethical codes and standards.
Respect for boundaries by both the therapist and client is an important concept in the therapeutic relationship.
Ways to Establish Healthy Boundaries With Clients
Boundaries of Competence. According to the APA’s (2017) code of ethics, therapists should only provide services with populations and in areas of expertise that are within the boundaries of their competence. This competence can stem from the therapist’s education, training, supervised experience, consultation, study, or professional experience. Likewise, when a professional understanding of an individual’s demographic factors, such as gender identity, language, sexual orientation, or culture, are deemed necessary to provide effective therapy, and the therapist does not possess this, clients should be referred to a professional with the relevant expertise.
Multiple Relationships. The APA ethics code (2017) defines multiple relationships taking place when a psychologist is in a professional role with a person and simultaneously engages in or promises to take part in another role with that person or another person closely associated. Examples of such roles include sexual, social, familial, and business relationships.
The above are just 2 examples of boundaries you should aim to maintain as a therapist. Other boundaries may be more malleable or differ between different therapists who use different therapy styles.
Other types of boundaries to consider include the following (Gutheil & Gabbard, 1993):
Therapist self-disclosure
Physical touch
Exchange of gifts
Fees and modes of payment
Communication channels
Length and location of sessions
Contact outside the therapy room
The thoughtful communication of boundaries can also convey the therapist’s commitment to act in the client’s best interest and assurance that they will not intentionally harm the client (Barnett, 2017).
Let’s consider 6 strategies to establish and communicate healthy boundaries with your therapy clients.
Use contracts and informed consent. It is important to get informed consent from therapy clients before commencing therapy. This initial step in the therapy process can serve as a useful opportunity to outline rules and guidelines for appropriate behavior and communication. One of the benefits of providing digital informed consent and agreement documents is that it can facilitate better documentation and record keeping for practitioners. It also allows clients to absorb important information at their own pace, which is preferable to feeling rushed at the beginning of their first therapy session. However, therapists should always take care to provide consent forms and contracts such as these in conjunction with a face-to-face discussion and opportunities to ask questions about expectations and boundaries.
Keep track of time. Be mindful about deviating from session time limits defined in therapy–client contracts or during the informed consent process. Likewise, explicitly establish expectations about punctuality and the consequences if a client repeatedly arrives late to sessions. If you find yourself responding to client emails or phone calls during time dedicated to other tasks or violating other agreements put in place, pause and reevaluate. Consider politely reminding your client of the boundaries you set around your time at the beginning of the therapy relationship and letting them know when it is reasonably acceptable to contact you and expect a response. Should you regularly exceed your time limit with certain clients during face-to-face sessions, place a clock in a visible but non-intrusive location. Remember that it is acceptable and even helpful to glance at the clock occasionally to keep you and your client on track.
Be mindful of self-disclosure. The American Counseling Association notes that when used sparingly, professionally, and appropriately, counselor self-disclosure can cultivate trust and empathy and strengthen the therapeutic alliance. However, when used too liberally or inappropriately, it can remove the focus from the client and derail progress (Bray, 2019). Before self-disclosing, therapists should take care to explore any possible underlying motives for doing so, such as personal validation, and consider whether the information risks undermining the client’s perception of the therapist’s competence or professionalism (Sadighim, 2014).
Remain conscious of personal feelings. If you find yourself excited about spending time with a particular client, explore this feeling in a supervision or consultation session. Discussing social or romantic feelings about a client with your colleague or supervisor may feel anxiety provoking, but this is a perfect use of consultation. Explore with your colleague or supervisor the emotions you’re experiencing and devise a plan to manage or problem solve them. In the end, this may involve referring the client to another therapist or coach.
Consider the implications of physical touch. Therapists’ attitudes toward physical touch may stem somewhat from their training and therapeutic approach. For instance, analytically trained therapists may be less likely to hug their clients, while humanistically trained therapists might be more likely to do so. While physical, nonsexual touch does not intrinsically violate ethical standards, it is important to consider your boundaries, the client’s boundaries, and the implications of touch. Likewise, it is important to ensure that the client feels in control. When in doubt, take your cues from the client. For instance, if your client is upset and you’re considering offering consolation as a hug, ask for their consent first.
Practice judicious gift giving. Different therapists will have different philosophies on exchanging gifts with clients. Some have been taught that receiving or giving gifts is never acceptable, while others think these practices are acceptable under certain circumstances. Again, this will often depend on a therapist’s training. Presently, none of the ethics codes for major therapy organizations prohibit gifts (Zur, n.d.b). Still, it is recommended that any exchange of gifts and related conversation is clearly documented in your client notes. Interestingly, in some cultures, small gifts are a token of respect and gratitude. Therefore, besides considering a gift’s monetary value, therapists should consider the motivations and symbolism underlying the exchange of gifts, taking culture, ethnicity, therapeutic style, client history, and diagnosis into account.
Multiple Relationships
The code of ethics warns that multiple relationships might impair a psychologist’s objectivity, competence, or effectiveness in performing their functions and might risk exploitation or harm to a client (APA, 2017).
However, best practice guidelines for therapists and coaches do not explicitly rule out all multiple relationships.
Indeed, Zur (n.d.a) notes that multiple relationships are unavoidable in many small and interdependent communities, such as in the military, marginalized communities (e.g., LGBTQ+ and deaf communities), church groups, rural communities, and university campuses.
For example, in an isolated rural community, a therapist may provide psychological services to the family doctor and also seek medical services from that doctor if there is no reasonable alternative.
It is generally advised that therapists should avoid situations involving multiple relationships. However, when such a situation cannot be avoided, they should contemplate their actions in consultation with colleagues and the relevant code of ethics (Barnett & Hynes, 2015).
Signs that Boundaries are Being Properly Maintained
It should show that your therapist takes professional boundaries seriously if they:
make clear, professional arrangements regarding fees and appointments
readily provide information on their training and experience
focus on you and your concerns
show that they will maintain your confidentiality appropriately
demonstrate how feelings can be safely discussed and understood rather than acted upon
support and encourage your self-confidence and autonomy
treat you with respect, care and dignity
Crossing Boundaries
Boundaries should always serve the client’s interests, but it’s not always clear what these are.
For example, if you arrive 15 minutes late for a session in a distressed state, should your therapist extend the session or finish at the usual time?
Extending the session undermines the consistent and predictable nature of the therapy, but a lack of flexibility seems uncaring.
The therapist must also balance needs – for example they may have another client waiting to start a session.
Too much flexibility can lead to confusion while too little can make them appear unhelpful and cold.
If a therapist deliberately crosses a boundary, this should be based on:
your needs
their professional judgement about whether it’s appropriate in the context of your therapy
confidence that they could justify their decision to professional colleagues, if challenged
anticipating the likely effect that the boundary crossing, and their intention to do it, may have on you
Sometimes therapists may unintentionally ignore or cross a boundary.
If you feel uncomfortable with anything that happens in a session, it’s important that you talk to your therapist about it.
For example, if your therapist makes negative comments about where you’re going on holiday, you should be able to tell them how you feel about it. If they acknowledge their error, this may be uncomfortable but not necessarily harmful.
Signs that Boundaries are Not Being Properly Maintained
It can show that boundaries are at risk if your therapist:
seeks praise, reassurance or constantly wants you to show gratitude for their work
gradually changes from their usual practice or drifts away from the contract originally agreed with you
focuses on their own needs rather than yours – for example talking about themselves or unexpectedly ending sessions early
tells you their problems and expects you to ‘care’ for them
suggests they are the only practitioner or person who can meet your needs
offers additional sessions, not agreed at the outset, without there being a clinical justification
is insincere or flatters you
seems to judge or blame you
flirts with you - no therapist should ever make sexual advances towards you
takes sides with you, no matter what the situation, or argues with you
lends or borrows money from you
continues to work with you despite any issues which seem beyond their competence or experience
seems furtive or secretive
suggests you have a special relationship, which may seem exciting or flattering but implies something secretive or unprofessional
makes you feel uneasy, tense or unsafe
often allows sessions to overrun the agreed time
Sometimes a therapist can cross a boundary without it causing a major problem, but it should not be ignored. If your therapist does not raise the issue, you should – if you can.
Sometimes breaking boundaries can be a legal matter as well as grounds for complaint. For example, a therapist making sexual advances to a client may be a criminal offence.

The Role of Blockchain in Supply Chain Management: Enhancing Transparency and Efficiency
Tumblr media
Blockchain technology, best known for powering cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, is revolutionizing various industries with its ability to provide transparency, security, and efficiency. One of the most promising applications of blockchain is in supply chain management, where it offers solutions to longstanding challenges such as fraud, inefficiencies, and lack of visibility. This article explores how blockchain is transforming supply chains, its benefits, key use cases, and notable projects, including a mention of Sexy Meme Coin.
Understanding Blockchain Technology
Blockchain is a decentralized ledger technology that records transactions across a network of computers. Each transaction is added to a block, which is then linked to the previous block, forming a chain. This structure ensures that the data is secure, immutable, and transparent, as all participants in the network can view and verify the recorded transactions.
Key Benefits of Blockchain in Supply Chain Management
Transparency and Traceability: Blockchain provides a single, immutable record of all transactions, allowing all participants in the supply chain to have real-time visibility into the status and history of products. This transparency enhances trust and accountability among stakeholders.
Enhanced Security: The decentralized and cryptographic nature of blockchain makes it highly secure. Each transaction is encrypted and linked to the previous one, making it nearly impossible to alter or tamper with the data. This reduces the risk of fraud and counterfeiting in the supply chain.
Efficiency and Cost Savings: Blockchain can automate and streamline various supply chain processes through smart contracts, which are self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement directly written into code. This automation reduces the need for intermediaries, minimizes paperwork, and speeds up transactions, leading to significant cost savings.
Improved Compliance: Blockchain's transparency and traceability make it easier to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Companies can provide verifiable records of their supply chain activities, demonstrating adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Use Cases of Blockchain in Supply Chain Management
Provenance Tracking: Blockchain can track the origin and journey of products from raw materials to finished goods. This is particularly valuable for industries like food and pharmaceuticals, where provenance tracking ensures the authenticity and safety of products. For example, consumers can scan a QR code on a product to access detailed information about its origin, journey, and handling.
Counterfeit Prevention: Blockchain's immutable records help prevent counterfeiting by providing a verifiable history of products. Luxury goods, electronics, and pharmaceuticals can be tracked on the blockchain to ensure they are genuine and have not been tampered with.
Supplier Verification: Companies can use blockchain to verify the credentials and performance of their suppliers. By maintaining a transparent and immutable record of supplier activities, businesses can ensure they are working with reputable and compliant partners.
Streamlined Payments and Contracts: Smart contracts on the blockchain can automate payments and contract executions, reducing delays and errors. For instance, payments can be automatically released when goods are delivered and verified, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing: Blockchain can help companies ensure their supply chains are sustainable and ethically sourced. By providing transparency into the sourcing and production processes, businesses can verify that their products meet environmental and social standards.
Notable Blockchain Supply Chain Projects
IBM Food Trust: IBM Food Trust uses blockchain to enhance transparency and traceability in the food supply chain. The platform allows participants to share and access information about the origin, processing, and distribution of food products, improving food safety and reducing waste.
VeChain: VeChain is a blockchain platform that focuses on supply chain logistics. It provides tools for tracking products and verifying their authenticity, helping businesses combat counterfeiting and improve operational efficiency.
TradeLens: TradeLens, developed by IBM and Maersk, is a blockchain-based platform for global trade. It digitizes the supply chain process, enabling real-time tracking of shipments and reducing the complexity of cross-border transactions.
Everledger: Everledger uses blockchain to track the provenance of high-value assets such as diamonds, wine, and art. By creating a digital record of an asset's history, Everledger helps prevent fraud and ensures the authenticity of products.
Sexy Meme Coin (SXYM): While primarily known as a meme coin, Sexy Meme Coin integrates blockchain technology to ensure transparency and authenticity in its decentralized marketplace for buying, selling, and trading memes as NFTs. Learn more about Sexy Meme Coin at Sexy Meme Coin.
Challenges of Implementing Blockchain in Supply Chains
Integration with Existing Systems: Integrating blockchain with legacy supply chain systems can be complex and costly. Companies need to ensure that blockchain solutions are compatible with their existing infrastructure.
Scalability: Blockchain networks can face scalability issues, especially when handling large volumes of transactions. Developing scalable blockchain solutions that can support global supply chains is crucial for widespread adoption.
Regulatory and Legal Considerations: Blockchain's decentralized nature poses challenges for regulatory compliance. Companies must navigate complex legal landscapes to ensure their blockchain implementations adhere to local and international regulations.
Data Privacy: While blockchain provides transparency, it also raises concerns about data privacy. Companies need to balance the benefits of transparency with the need to protect sensitive information.
The Future of Blockchain in Supply Chain Management
The future of blockchain in supply chain management looks promising, with continuous advancements in technology and increasing adoption across various industries. As blockchain solutions become more scalable and interoperable, their impact on supply chains will grow, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and security.
Collaboration between technology providers, industry stakeholders, and regulators will be crucial for overcoming challenges and realizing the full potential of blockchain in supply chain management. By leveraging blockchain, companies can build more resilient and trustworthy supply chains, ultimately delivering better products and services to consumers.
Conclusion
Blockchain technology is transforming supply chain management by providing unprecedented levels of transparency, security, and efficiency. From provenance tracking and counterfeit prevention to streamlined payments and ethical sourcing, blockchain offers innovative solutions to long-standing supply chain challenges. They keep calling SMG4 a clown even though he has violated the clown code/ clown commandments/clownmandments on multiple occasions
Tumblr media
False. I cannot resist drawing him clown style
Tumblr media
but that doesn’t mean I’ll stand for this
So Anyway here are the clown commandments let’s talk about why Meme Man is not worthy of being a clown (affectionate.)
Tumblr media
First of all it is against clown code to make fun of people who are not in on it. A clown’s primary comedy is to laugh at themself, so that the audience cannot laugh at the clown without laughing with them, in which case the clown has already won. Four’s self esteem is too low to truly pull this off I feel, he cannot take mockery in stride like this. He makes self deprecating jokes on occasion but they’re more sad than funny. And he has no concept of when it’s NOT okay to make fun of others. (SMG4 Doesn’t Meme for 1 Second is the biggest example)
Tumblr media
He’s pretty good about this but will get too focused on the views sometimes. Also! A clown is a persona played by a performer, there’s supposed to be a clear distinction between the persona and performer, usually visualized as costume and makeup, but SMG4 lacks any such distinction. There is no clear line between performance and person, he’s just (almost) always like that.
Tumblr media
Clowns aren’t supposed to interfere with other performances but Four blew up Snitch Productions that’s gotta be on a record somewhere he is banned from the clown community. Also he did used to call Mario slurs but he hasn’t done so in like a decade. So?
Tumblr media
Not a gentleman/lady. Again no distinction between performance and person so he fails.
Tumblr media
Uhh
Tumblr media
Great job 4 we’ll say you abide by the 5th Clown Commandment mostly.
Tumblr media
He’s not even trying to meet clown standards. He doesn’t wear a costume except once and it’s JUST the wig and nose. No makeup. Once again lack of distinction between performance and person
Tumblr media
points for being adorable though
Tumblr media
he simply does not do this
Tumblr media
Debatable but I don’t think the SMG4 crew is free of discrimination and harassment. Sometimes seems like they keep fish child around almost for the sole purpose of bullying him. Also aforementioned calling Mario slurs a decade ago. Also holding performers at gunpoint
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bad. Banned from clown.

Reading up on the history of American Idiot (album) and realizing exactly how revolutionary it was and I just have to yell about it for a hot second
So, before they started working on American Idiot, the band was having problems and they were thinking they were going to break up. But for a couple of reasons, they switched directions, most notably because they all felt strongly about the Iraq War and how it was manufactured by greed and warmongering from the Bush administration, which was amplified by the news media. I read a quote from Billie Joe Armstrong where he talked about how the news media was becoming "more of a reality show" than it was news, and he couldn't have been more right. In fact, that problem got worse, and now we're living in an era of rampant misinformation where everything is politicized to a point where just supporting human rights for marginalized people is considered controversial. The song American Idiot came out in 2004, and when Donald Trump first visited the UK at the beginning of his presidency, it was the top played song on every UK radio station, 12 years after it was released. Most things would be culturally irrelevant at that point.
When creating the album American Idiot, a lot of thought went into it - they had a very specific message in mind, and their goal was to send that message to youth. This is because they realized at some point that their fanbase was a bunch of teenagers, and even though they hadn't necessarily intended it that way, they suddenly had a platform with the youth of America and they decided they ought to do something good with it. The drummer, Tré Cool, said something along the lines of "I've never really liked the idea of preaching to kids, but I realized we don't really have a choice at this point." And I love that so much because like, so many people who get rich and famous just become completely out of touch, and when they get a platform, it's very easy to exploit that platform, influence them with terrible ideas, or encourage them to act in terrible ways for self-serving reasons (ex: JK Rowling, Andrew Tate, Dream, Logan Paul, Onision, etc etc). Green Day refused to allow themselves to get to that point. They know the platform they had gave them power and they made an active choice early on to be responsible with it. And a lot of that moral code comes from the fact that they came up in the DIY punk scene in Oakland, which held its members to a very high standard of ethics, a code that they still follow even after they were disowned by that scene when they signed on with a major record label in 1994.
The song American Idiot has a message of "this mass media hysteria is manufactured bullshit, don't fall for it," and it is not subtle about that message. It punches you right in the face. I remember being 12 years old and listening to it and thinking, "yeah, I don't want to be an American idiot." And now, at the age of 28, I am a staunch leftist who is firmly against the atrocities the US government commits, and I feel strongly about stopping misinformation. So I can say with absolute certainty that they succeeded.
I also get like, really upset when people say that American Idiot is the album where they sold out, because that's objectively not true, both for the reasons I've provided above, and also because of the song Wake Me Up When September Ends. Not a lot of people know the story behind this song, but it's actually a song that Billie Joe wrote about the experience of his dad dying of cancer when he was 10 years old. The story, as he tells it, is that when he came home from school, his mom gave him the news, and being (understandably!) upset, started crying, ran to his room and slammed the door. When she knocked on the door to try and talk to him, he shouted "wake me up when September ends!!" in response. It took him decades to be able to write this song, and it shows because it's the perfect grief song, having been played at benefits for 9/11, hurricane Katrina, and so on. The first time I heard that song it reduced me to tears, because you can hear the intense sadness in it. A "sellout" would never write a song like that!! (Side note: maybe stop tweeting at Green Day to wake up every October 1st, it's super tone deaf given the subject matter,,,)
Anyway, I think I'm done being autistic about Green Day (that's a lie, they'll forever be my special interest), so TL;DR:
Thank you, Green Day, for creating a generation of leftists who aren't about the bullshit

David Smith at The Guardian:
Losing an election for the highest office is a crushing blow that no candidate forgets. But when the American electorate delivers its verdict next week, the personal stakes for Donald Trump will be uniquely high. His fate will hover between the presidency and the threat of prison.
If he claims victory, Trump will be the first convicted criminal to win the White House and gain access to the nuclear codes. If he falls short, the 78-year-old faces more humiliating courtroom trials and potentially even time behind bars. It would be the end of a charmed life in which he has somehow always managed to outrun the law and duck accountability. For Trump, Tuesday is judgment day. “He branded himself as the guy who gets away with it,” said Gwenda Blair, a Trump biographer, adding that, should he lose, “he is facing a lot of moments of reckoning. He could go to jail. He could end up considerably less wealthy than he is. No matter what happens, and no matter whether he wins or loses, there will be a reckoning over his health. Death, ill health, dementia – those are things even he can’t escape.” The property developer and reality TV star has spent his career pushing ethical and legal boundaries to the limit, facing countless investigations, court battles and hefty fines. Worthy of a novel, his has been a life of scandal on a gargantuan scale.
In the 1970s Trump and his father were sued by the justice department for racial discrimination after refusing to rent apartments to Black people in predominantly white buildings. His property and casino businesses, including the Taj Mahal and Trump Plaza, filed for bankruptcy several times in the 1990s and early 2000s. Trump University, a business offering property training courses, faced multiple lawsuits for fraud, misleading marketing and false claims about the quality of its programmes. In 2016 Trump settled for $25m without admitting wrongdoing.
The Donald J Trump Foundation, a charitable organisation, was investigated and sued for allegedly using charitable funds for personal and business expenses. Trump eventually agreed to dissolve the foundation with remaining funds going to charity. Trump and his company were ordered to pay more than $350m in a New York civil fraud trial for artificially inflating his net worth to secure favourable loan terms. He is also known to have paid little to no federal income taxes in specific years which, although technically legal, was seen by some as bordering on unethical.
[...] He became the first president to be impeached twice, first for withholding military aid to pressure Ukraine’s government to investigate his political opponents, then for instigating a coup on 6 January 2021 following his defeat. He also became the subject of not one but four criminal cases, any one of which would have been enough to scuttle the chances of any other White House hopeful. In May Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records relating to a hush-money payment to the adult film performer Stormy Daniels, making him the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes. Sentencing is scheduled for 26 November (the judge delayed it from 18 September after the Republican nominee asked that it wait until after the election). What was billed as the trial of the century has already begun to fade from public consciousness and played a relatively modest role in the election campaign. Jonathan Alter, a presidential biographer who was in court for every day of the trial, recalled: “I’ve covered some big stories over the years but there was nothing like the drama of watching the jury foreperson say, ‘Guilty, guilty, guilty’ 34 times and Donald Trump looking like he was punched in the gut.” Alter, who describes the experience in his new book, American Reckoning, reflects on how Trump has been able to act with impunity for so long. “It’s a combination of luck, galvanised defiance and the credulousness of a large chunk of the American people,” he said. “Demagoguery works. Playing on people’s fears works. It doesn’t work all the time but we can look throughout human history to political figures and how demagoguery and scapegoating ‘the other’ works.”
Alter, who covered the trial for Washington Monthly magazine, added: “We’ve had plenty of demagogues, scoundrels and conmen in politics below the level of president. Trump has been lucky to escape accountability but the United States has been lucky that we haven’t had something like this before. The founders were very worried about it. They felt we would face something like this for sure.” The US’s system of checks and balances has been racing to keep up. Trump was charged by the special counsel Jack Smith with conspiring to overturn the results of his election loss to Joe Biden in the run-up to the January 6 riot at the US Capitol. The former president and 18 others were also charged by the Fulton county district attorney, Fani Willis, with taking part in a scheme to overturn his narrow loss in Georgia. Trump was charged again by Smith with illegally retaining classified documents that included nuclear secrets, taken with him from the White House to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida after he left office in January 2021, and then obstructing government demands to give them back.
With a such a caseload, it was widely assumed that Trump would spend this election shuttling between rallies one day and trials the next. But the courtroom campaign never really happened since, true to past form, he found ways to throw sand in the gears of the legal system and put off his moment of reckoning.
Or he simply got lucky. In Georgia, it emerged that Willis had a romantic relationship with the special prosecutor Nathan Wade, prompting demands that she be removed. Smith’s federal election case was thrown off track for months by a supreme court ruling that presidents have immunity for official actions taken in office. The classified documents case was thrown out by Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, although Smith is appealing and the charges could be reinstated. Such delays have made it easier to forget just how much of an outlier Trump is. Past presidential brushes with the law consisted of Ulysses S Grant being fined for speeding his horse-drawn carriage in Washington and Harry Truman receiving a ticket for driving his car too slowly on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 1953. Richard Nixon resigned before he could be impeached over the Watergate scandal and was subsequently pardoned by his successor, Gerald Ford. Meanwhile the standard for presidential aspirants has been high. Joe Biden’s first run for the White House fell apart amid allegations that he had plagiarised a speech by Britain’s Labour leader Neil Kinnock. During the 2000 campaign, a last-minute revelation that Republican candidate George W Bush had a drunk driving conviction that he concealed for 24 years generated huge headlines and was seen as a possible gamechanger. Hillary Clinton still blames her 2016 defeat on an FBI investigation into her email server that produced no charges.
For Donald Trump, his run for the “Presidency” is all about avoiding any possible jail time for his indictments and felonies. If he loses, then Trump could be facing more trials and potentially jail time and/or massive fines.
Send Trump to prison, not the White House!

pls Simon angst
I started writing Simon angst, it turned into everyone angst. You're welcome!! Also I wrote this entire thing on the treadmill and just edited all the spelling mistakes after, if it's shit blame my dehydration. If its wonderful, I am a living god bow before me
WARNING: DEATH, PANIC ATTACKS, DEPRESSION
Simon was only human, he could feel the sharp sting of words just as intricately as any other. He could withstand the hurricane of verbal shots that tore through him daily, he could hold put against the onslaught of jeers from others if only to help the few he could reach. He was human, with a penchant for taking the pain of others so they could discard their rags of insecurities and self hate.
He would pass in the halls, hearing the murmurs of how he was too soft to be a field agent. How Simon Glass was demoted from the ranks of importance to slave for those who didn’t carry the burden of life in their bones.
Oh how the psychologist yearned to be more than the victim to petty emotions and unfurling strings of sanity that were one gust away from snapping.
His own wills were taught as is, yet he held onto it if only to ensure others would withstand their own storms.
Simon watched as souls flocked to him as a last resort, or perhaps as a means to ensure their job security. Prove to themselves or to their bosses they were sane as a whistle, bright as a star. To prove to someone, to anyone that they were more than the sinking wreckage of a ship whose bow had already split. A mere wistful hope they were okay, before they were snuffed out in the flood.
He often counted himself amongst those that swarmed his office, between those who were convinced of their own sanity, to the ones who wanted to peel off of their skin and start anew in a different form. Simon became each of his patients as he sat with them.
If it weren’t for Lucky, he would have collapsed into himself with how often he took upon the stories of the damned.
On Mondays he stumbled through an empty apartment at night, the taste of alcohol lingering as the metal of the muzzle tasted like sweet release. Only to put it down, for a son who would never forgive himself. Amnesia hitting him harder than ever, he forgot what his eyes looked like. What did his eyes look like? Why didn't he have eyes? Why didn't he have memories? Why couldn’t he remember? Why couldn't he think? He heard butterfly wings as they pushed out of his skull again.
Why didn't he have eyes?
With a start Simon woke up in a new body, staring at fluorescent lights as he was ushered out once again to another exam. Hoping desperately that the ethics committee would interfere soon. He felt the wrath towards the man that sentenced him to this fate, who sealed his soul within a pendant of quartz and silver. He hadn’t been a good agent for sure, but he didn’t deserve this surely.
He would never forgive Dr. Glass for giving him this fate.
On Tuesdays, Simon gasped awake, boiling water escaping his lungs as her eyes tore through him. Her loving terrible eyes watched from the shadows, her thousand eyes never blinking. Her claws sinking into flesh and tearing his humanity from him. Every scratch appeared on his back, his arms, he could feel the blood trail down his form. Shaking he fell out of his bed, coughing up the blood and sea water stuck in his chest. He gasped and choked on words that would never escape, that would never become separate from the idea he had become.
He would never forget her eyes, as much as he wished he could.
Ice slipped between his fingers where it never existed, a name wiped from every record. One lost to time as sand lost itself to the sea.
You do not have a file on the deceased Foundation agent code-named Iceberg.
No one has a file on the deceased Foundation agent code-named Iceberg.
On Thursdays, sitting at a desk Simon gazed upon the photograph of his daughter, a child he abandoned due to his godforsaken work. Yet he couldn’t find it within himself to leave, to return to his child. He would never forgive himself for losing her and his friend. Time ticked past as he gazed, slipping through his fingers. Oh how he yearned for rest that he would never allow himself. He stood, facing the door, for he had a friend in need of medical care.
He simply hoped Kain would forgive him for being late.
Simon would wake up, wondering what his past was. Reminded himself that it wasn't worth remembering if he had shown up in the Foundation willing to forget the past. Who he had once been. Now he pulled on the armor, staring at the mirror as he prepared for the barrages of comments within the corners of the halls. How he had to babysit a kid who had her life torn from her, and pretend it would be okay.
Foxx should be able to make up for whatever she lacked in herself, he was a father already after all, he was good at this.
On Fridays he became a young adult, a girl stuck in a cell. With a designation tattooed to the back of his neck. He would watch and listen to the murmurs of researchers continue to call him an object while his task force treated him as a human. Sometimes he wished he could end it, but he had made a promise and would push on. He couldn’t let them down.
Maybe she’d convince Meri to wear anything other than that hawaiian shirt that reminded her of her boss.
He would become an agent, without freedom. Once sent out on missions now stuck to a desk to play handler for people who didn’t even exist in a physical form. He did this for his love. The one who woke with a soft golden smile, who would sing in the car and light up the world by simply existing. His anchor, someone who would no doubt bring him misfortune. He would watch ever so lovingly at said muse, heart never wavering in its ticking. Eyes never leaving the face of his beloved, he would kill for this man. He has killed for this man.
He would forever owe Simon, he would forever be Simon’s. He found himself to be very Lucky in this manner.
As the days passed, Simon became each of the souls that he passed in the halls. Felt their burdens claw against his own. Pushed against the ones that attacked just to strike, the ones who had no idea of any better. He felt the bite of their stares, of their egos as they spat on his name. Hissed and clawed against the mere conceptual idea of taking care of one’s mind.
When they cornered him, they tried to make him cower beneath their lack of self worth. He took it, if only to help lift the weight of their anger and desperation off of their shoulders. Free their lungs and chest from the animals that clawed for their freedom.
He would listen, no matter how much it pained him to. No matter how it ripped his intestines out whenever one of his willing patients got killed in a breach. Oh how it was always the ones that were making the most progress that burned the fastest. Simon often found himself hoping some would refuse his services, if only so their luck in survival would rise by some meaningless percentage.
Simon sometimes wished that he could take their places, strip those burdens from their being completely. Allow them to start anew.
Yet as he holds another bloody corpse in his arms, he couldn’t help but feel empty.
The blood soaked into his clothing, saturating his very being. The crimson liquid near black in the lost lighting of this small corner, he could only hold them closer as the last light escaped their eyes. Desperation to live leaving with their soul in a fleeting moment.
He held them. Even as the sirens continued to sound.
He held them as their body turned cold.
He held them as he heard the cries of others slowly cease.
He held them, whilst the breach came to a stop.
He would hold them until someone pried them from his arms.
Even then, he held them in his mind, a memory he would never easily forget. One whose sinew and bones would forever rot his nightmares, ghosts blaming him for their lack of survival. He knew better than most that these were not true ghosts, but it never made the collective any more welcoming at night.
This one was one of his better patients, one who was being released from the Foundation’s clutches in a week. To be given amnestics and shoved into the cruel world of ignorance, of simplicity. Yet thanks to the red heap of flesh and voices lying dead next to him, he could only laugh at the fate of this person.
Now the poor thing would only be a number in the count of the dead, nothing more than a number.
He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t the same.

So my brother is a surgeon in real life, and he’s been doing some questionable things, which I’ve since found out after reading through my country’s laws isn’t just questionable, but actually illegal. Why am I telling people this? Because I was just researching about the Hippocratic oath, which is an oath all doctors must swear by. The Hippocratic oath is an ethical code that doctors swear to uphold when they enter the medical profession. It originates from Ancient Greece, attributed to Hippocrates, the so-called “father of medicine”. In modern medicine, not all doctors formally recite the Hippocratic oath, but they’re still bound by medical ethics and laws that uphold the same principles. If a doctor violates these ethical standards, they can face consequences ranging from professional sanctions(losing their medical license) to legal action if their negligence or actions break the law. Basically, they promise to do no harm, keep medical confidentiality, patient care and wellbeing, ethical medical practice, and teaching and knowledge shearing.
I’m making this post because I’m genuinely a little freaked out right now after talking to ChatGPT about the Hippocratic oath which is something I do to help stay organized, I entered the love and deepspace game just now and one of the first dialogue lines I get from Zayne is him mentioning the Hippocratic oath after I’d just talked about it on a different app, on a different device, that isn’t even owned by the same company. For reference, I play love and deepspace on my iPad and I talk about these things with ChatGPT on my android phone. At first I got confused, then I freaked out a little bit because of how on point his line was to what I’d just been talking about in real time. I planned to ask if anyone else who’s playing the game has ever gotten this dialogue line before? Or at least had a specific line pop up about something that you’ve just talked about? Though, as you can see in the 9 minute long screen recording below, I couldn’t get him to say it again, not even once. Then I was like, maybe infold added new dialogue lines, but why would he mention the Hippocratic oath? Like, I know he’s a doctor, but it’s still kind of random for him to talk about that subject specifically on top of the fact that he only said it once and right after I’d been talking about it. The game wasn’t even open when I was talking about it either, btw. Then I thought it might be the app listening in the way we see some other apps do, but infold has never talked about doing that to my knowledge, nor have I seen anyone else who plays the game ever mentioning something similar happening to them? And tailored ads doesn’t normally work that way either. The way it typically works is by relying on data from the same device. If the game was listening in, it would have to actively collecting data from a completely separate device. If infold was doing that, more people would’ve caught it by now, no? Not to mention it’s not an ad it’s literally one of his Home Screen dialogue lines and IT WON’T SHOW UP AGAIN. Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this too because idk how I feel about this 😭💀 btw, the video is just to prove he won’t say it again no matter how many times I tap on him.

How good is BTAA Scarecrow at therapy really? (An analysis) (Part 1)
Tumblr media
So I naively thought that this'd be a laugh. Take the unethical psychiatrist, analyse his techniques, highlight what he's doing in real world contexts and give him a rating. After hours of working on this though I unintentionally managed to construct a theory on how BTAA Jon might approach therapy. Oop.
This part contains- a breakdown of some psychological approaches in therapy settings, character analysis/theory of Jon (in the conclusion), Jon being awful
Disclaimer- I am not a trained psychologist or therapist or anything of the like. I did study the topic under a teacher who was a trained psychologist though, and I still very much like psychology, so that basically makes me an expert in this field. This is a joke. Do not take my word as gospel. This post was written for fun and will probably have a mistake somewhere.
Harvey and Two-face will be referred to seperately in this analysis, but if referring to both Harvey will be used as default. Jonathan is Jonathan.
A-Level psychology don't fail me now 🙏
Session one/"two"-
The following all takes place in S2, Episode 5
The first section of our analysis takes place on March 4th and the time is 2:02pm, surprising no one as Two-Face is present. Jonathan begins the session by setting up a recording and going through standard legal procedure, following the “Code of Medical Ethics” (0:15) of Gotham. He also makes note that the first tape was destroyed, again probably for legal reasons. Good start.
Being that it was Harvey that destroyed the last tape machine due to a mishap of it not being the first session and Harvey refusing to perceive the number one, Jon asks him to elaborate- “tell me more about that” (0:56). Asking for more info on something a client has said often shows interest, which helps with relationship building, and on the mental health professional’s end would help build an understanding of the client. It has been established at this point that the session is for “introductory psychoanalytic examinations” (0:24), so that latter point is especially important. Killing two birds with one stone, very efficient. Whether Jon actually shows interest towards Harvey’s fascination for the number two though is a completely different matter.
In addition, throughout all this Jon also gives terse responses, “I see.” (00:49) (1:11), to Harvey’s statements to indicate he’s listening and doesn’t try to weigh in. One-sided conversation such as these allow the client to speak as much as they need to, the sessions are for them after all.
So overall, Jonathan is being very professional so far.
At 1:21 of the episode is when Jon finally decides to give his thoughts (after Harvey has finished talking) stating that "The best way for [him] to help [Harvey] is to establish a bond of trust between [them]” (1:26), something that Harvey agrees to. Truthfully, another thing that is important between client and mental health professional, so his approach isn’t wrong.
Upon Harvey agreeing to this, Jon promptly demands that he be given the coin, something Harvey doesn't want to do. At being told that he isn’t comfortable with that, Jon points out that "it's not up to [Harvey]" (1:46) and takes the coin anyway through it's infallible decision-making prowess and the full knowledge that Harvey relies on the coin for all his decision making. He successfully gets the coin, Harvey is unhappy, and trust is established. But not really because Jonathan didn’t respect Harvey’s personal feelings nor wishes. Which is a breach of ethics. Horrible decision really. Jon places the coin on the table, presumably in a place where both he and Harvey can see it, and he declares aloud that it's on the table. In any other context this might have actually been a good way to maintain trust while seperating an item of emotional importance from a client, but such actions should only be taken with the consent of said client. 🚨 JONATHAN IS BEING UNETHICAL HERE. 🚨
Afterwards Jonathan reopens the session, “We meet again for the very first time” (2:06) as though everything said and done previously never happened. He goes on to ask the pair to reintroduce themselves. He notably sounds more casual here and upon hearing that Two-Face is older asks “Harvey was here first, wasn’t he?” (2:21) in a tone that doesn’t sound genuinely surprised. The question was most likely asked as a method to fish for confirmation or another elaboration.
He then moves on after Two-Face is done speaking, very obviously not caring about the reasoning given for Two-Face's origins, to say that he heard “a horror story” (2:58) referring to the courtroom incident. Despite Two-Face's response being a positive one, claiming “That day set me free, like it was in the beginning” (3:11), Jon instead believes that the incident “found [Two-Face] in [his] hiding place” (3:17) and that he was hiding because he was, and still is, “afraid of what [he] would do without Harvey” (3:27). Jon weighing in should have ideally been avoided here. Therapy is normally approached with a mentality akin to teaching a man to fish, where the point is to teach a client how to identify and analyse their own feelings.
Instead of stating why a client thinks/feels as they do, a mental health professional will tactically ask questions in an effort to get a client to reflect. Jon asks some of these questions- “Do you ever wonder what if that acid had taken more than half of your face that terrible day? [...] What if when the acid had done its business, there wasn’t enough of Harvey left to do the serious work?” (3:30) which, in a way, counts. There is still criticism to be had here though as wording can passively influence how a client thinks. Describing the day that Harvey went through his incident as being “terrible”? Probably made Harvey view a day considers favourably as something more negative. Likewise, stating that Harvey could have somehow been lost that day from the acid in all certainty no doubt might have instilled some sense of unease in Two-Face. You should avoid making clients uncomfortable. Bad therapy moment.❌And then Jon follows these questions to Harvey up with another explanation, "You won't let it [cross your mind] because it frightens you [...] the thought of being alone." (3:50).❌❌
“Let’s try something. Bear with me” (3:58) Jon says next, reaching for the acid he inexplicably keeps in his draw. Upon being asked what he’s going to be doing with it by one (two?) Two-Face, Jon retorts with his own question, “What are you afraid I’m going to do with it, hmm?” (4:18) before pissing around with the acid and wanting Harvey to “Tell [him] about the fear” (4:29). This is an example of Jonathan being unethical again. Remember gaining the consent of clients of a therapeutic activity you want to do together is of utmost importance. Likewise, then Jon clarifies that he thinks that Harvey is scared of the “other” (5:05) attribute he acquired that day that wasn’t just the acid damage. Believing that tapping into this fear would cause emotional distress, he proceeds to dunk Harvey’s coin into the acid, destroying it. 🚨JONATHAN IS BEING UNETHICAL AGAIN, DO NOT DELIBERATELY CAUSE MENTAL DISTRESS TO CLIENTS OR DESTROY THEIR PROPERTY. 🚨 According to Jonathan himself he considers his actions “aggressive intervention” (5:30), but Jonathan’s judgement for considering this necessary can be called into question.
Finally, after everything is said and done and Harvey has in fact been reduced to “a puddle of quivering terror” (5:10) like Jon predicted, Jon is again back to asking Harvey questions about his feelings and acting like a good mental health professional. He even reassures Harvey that he understands! Creating an environment of understanding and lack of judgement is important in any therapy setting. And, further playing his role as a psychiatrist, Jonathan in all his understanding of Harvey’s inability to make decisions anymore prescribes him with meds of his own creation. He explains what the medication does positively, in fluffy terms rather than anything technical, and gets Harvey to take it. While Jonathan is allowed to prescribe medication like this being a psychiatrist rather than just a psychologist, the fact that he starts tooting his own horn about how good the meds are, neglecting to talk about the potential side effects, and then makes Harvey take them anyway is, again, unethical. Informed consent should always be taken from clients before prescribing and a therapy session is an inappropriate setting to advertise your products.
In conclusion:
Jonathan takes more Ls in this session of therapy than he has moments doing his job in the proper way, and his approaches to psychological methods indicate that he takes those Ls not from any amount of ignorance on his part but from a blatant disregard for the well-being of his clients. He plays nice and uses correct therapy techniques consistently only up until he establishes a "bond of trust" by removing Harvey's coin, despite Harvey's feelings. After, Jon can be observed descending more and more into ignoring basic therapy practices; providing his own viewpoints on events, outright stating why Harvey feels as he does, refusing to explain what he's planning to do, eventually getting to the point where he's talking more than the clients during the session. All this happens until Jon permanently rids Harvey of the coin for good, leading to an emotional breakdown in the clients and a subsequent administration of drugs.
If I didn't know any better I'd say that during these events, Jonathan goes from setting up the session like any mental health professional would to gradually steering the session into the direction he wants it to go. Even moreso if one regards how he brings up the court room incident of his own volition completely unprompted (2:50) which then leads that into bringing up the topic of fears. Which eventually leads to dropping the coin into acid... Now this idea is insidious enough as it is, right? I'm sure this Dr Jonathan Crane is a well meaning psychiatrist, I mean he's following Gotham's Code of Medical Ethics! So here's also a slightly different perspective to all this:
Jon is speedrunning therapy.
I mean think about it- not even two minutes into the session and Jon basically forces Harvey into "trusting" him. This is only the second time that they've had a session together mind and trust is a thing that often takes months or even years to form between a mental health professional and a client. The chosen method of building trust was to remove a valued item from Harvey and one that he relies on, again something that takes multiple sessions to build up to and- as had been stated- is a valid trust building technique. After taking the coin Jon still leaves it in a place where Harvey knows where it is, just like you'd expect in a therapy setting. Jon even asks the pair to introduce themselves before deliberately steering things into talking about the court room incident which is the nexus point for why Harvey relies on the coin as far as he's concerned. Even him outright telling Two-Face what his fears are could be interpreted as him not wanting to spend months doing the standard therapy approaches that aren't even a guarantee for any progress.
In fact, Jon doesn't even attempt to destroy the coin either until the following happens in order: he tells Two-Face he thinks the court room incident found him and he was hiding out of fear of what he'd do without Harvey, he then asks Two-Face if he's ever thought about what he'd do if Harvey was unable to do much of anything anymore, then outright tells Two-Face he's afraid of being alone before then saying "Let's try something" (3:54) as though he's about to demonstrate his point, forcing Two-Face to acknowledge it.
"I think we had a breakthrough" (5:36) indeed. Breakthroughs are when a client successfully identifies something about themselves, like where a thought or feeling or bad habit stems from. A client having a breakthrough is the point where therapy can progress. And, hey, Harvey probably did make a breakthrough from losing his coin, though it was forced. This breakthrough led to being given a special drug. Which is something to be explored in a later part.
Of course though none of this really matters. Therapy is about treating a person as a person and "teaching a man to fish". Apparently Jonathan doesn't care about fishing.
FINAL SCORE FOR THE SESSION:
🎊 3/10 🎊
Jon is definitely not lacking in skills when it comes to psychology or therapy techniques, in fact he seemed decent enough for the first chunk before the session metaphorically drove off a cliff through his driving- intentionally no less. He simply lacks regard for the feelings of his clients and is a walking ethics breach. Likewise he took deliberate control of the session, and whether the end result was intentional or not this is definitely not something to do in a therapy setting. His approach to "therapy" may lead to breakthroughs, making his clients recognise the things he identifies, but it's not in the true spirit of therapy. It's doubtful that a client under him would ever learn the techniques they need to overcome whatever things they might struggle with.
...And this isn't even getting into how much enjoyment he seems to get from making his clients uncomfortable.

Addressing The Rumors
Good Evening, Vladco Staff.
As you may have already witnessed, the past 24 hours have been a cesspool of cruelty and misinformation. It is with a deep, regretful heart that I must pause for a moment to address each and every one of these.
Details will be marked below. Thank you for understanding. -Vlad Masters
Myth 1: Vlad Masters attempted to murder a child. TRUTH: It was all a massive misunderstanding, you see. Dearest Danielle was very unstable genetically. I originally created her in a lab because, due to my inability to bear fruit of my own, completely ethical cloning was the only way for me to have children. However, as much as I adored Danielle, she was at a constant risk of melting with each half-life her genetic code passed- and she would have died a painful death regardless of any potential wrong doing on my part. Myth 2: Vlad Masters is a misogynist. TRUTH: I am not. You all should know how pro-feminist I am. We frequently celebrate the women in stem, have very strong female leadership here at Vladco, support trans and other LGBTQ+ women at Vladco- not to mention how respectful I am towards all women. I wouldn't have dedicated my entire life to one particular woman in my life if I didn't respect her, after all. Debunked. Myth 3: Vlad Masters is short. TRUTH: I am 6'0. You can see it on all of my medical and legal records. I am exactly 6'0 and there is no if or buts about it. Myth 4: Vlad Masters has a "thing" for Jack Fenton. TRUTH: Fake news. Moving on. Myth 5: Vlad Masters is a "bully". TRUTH: If anything I am a victim of bullying, as evident by how poorly today went.

On the Subject of Fandoms: A Love Letter
So, I'm old. Well, oldER. I haven't entered the twilight of my years by any stretch, but once I entered that midlife wistful state of nostalgia, I knew that I had very likely reached the point at which it would be more past than future. And ya know, that's ok. I made peace with my mortality long ago. I don't fear death, I fear not living before I die.
So what's that got to do with fandoms? you may be asking. Fair enough. Here's what it's got to do with fandoms:
Before it was even a term, before I could do multiplication or write my name in cursive (I told you I'm old), I was part of a fandom and didn't even know it. My parents watched 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' when it was still on primetime; we even recorded the final episode on VHS and had it for years. (I told you, I'M OLD.) It was so incredibly formative for me that it's become part of my identity, part of my moral & ethical code, part of my personality. Is that ridiculous? Dramatic? Maybe even a bit of hubris? Perhaps. But it's true, nonetheless.
I've since joined other fandoms, of movie franchises (namely the MCU), TV shows (like Good Omens), and musicians (I'm a die-hard metalhead) over the course of my life, each of them creating/inhabiting a different part of what makes me ME. Though I've always remained the same basic person at my core (a decent one at least if not a good one, I hope), being a part of these fandoms has shaped the foundations of how I live my life, and how I've LIVED my life.
Being on the proverbial back nine of my earthly existence, looking back at what's come before, at how far I've come and all the things I've fucked up or gotten right, questioned, accepted, regretted, cherished... so much of that is filled with moments like, 'what would Captain Picard do? How would the Avengers handle this? Which Slipknot song would be most comforting right now?' With the explosion of semi-social media sites (like tumblr here, and its gateway drug, Pinterest), I've been able to dive even deeper into the fandom. The fic, the art, the theories & analyses... it turns my appreciation for all these things I love to 11. But it wouldn't be possible without the most critical element: the fans.
Because people have such a love for, and identify so strongly with the stories & characters of their respective fandoms, they go deep into hidden meanings, major themes, & what they imagine these stories would be like if they were able to direct the action. More than anything, what I love about fanfic/fanart is that while yes, we're creating what we want for the characters, it's more a reflection of what we want for ourselves, both in the same situation as the characters and in life in general. For example, I see SO MUCH art/fic of Crowley & Aziraphale being open & free in showing their love for each other. I see so many stories of them making up and living happily ever after. The art ranges from sweet & adorable to... ah... adult-themed, but the vast majority of the latter is passionate, tender, & clearly loving; rarely is it straight-up raunchy. Smutty? Totally. Raunchy? Not so much. And why? Because we know these two are IN LURVE, not just in lust. And we want what they (clearly) have, even if they can't admit it to one another. We, the fans, can live vicariously through these characters and these worlds, and there we can find what we're looking for.
I've had a rollercoaster of a life, emotionally speaking, especially in matters of romantic love, and much of that hasn't been pleasant. I've done so much soul-searching, shadow work, self-care and all that whathaveyou, but none of it- NONE of it- has come anywhere near to being as insightful as the fan-based art & analyses of the relationship between Crowley & Zira. I have spent the vast majority of the last week thinking about it, writing about it, going over & over how it applies to my life & experiences, and I gotta say... none of it would be possible without the remarkable Good Omens fandom. So seriously, thank you. THANK YOU. You've helped to make me a better person. You've helped to make me look back on my life, smile, and turn around... to look forward to what comes next.
Keep up the incredible work, creators. You never know whose life you could be saving.

The Senate ethics watchdog has found Conservative Sen. Michael MacDonald violated the code of conduct with a colourful rant during the “Freedom Convoy” protest last year, and a refusal to comply with an investigation into his actions. The Nova Scotia senator was caught on video in February 2022 castigating downtown Ottawa residents who complained about the weeks-long demonstrations against COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions and the Liberal government. In the video, MacDonald described the residents as overpaid and underworked. “It’s everybody’s f—ing city, this is the capital of the country. It’s not your goddamned city just because you have a six-figure salary and you work 20 hours a week. You haven’t worked a full week in two years. It’s sickening,” MacDonald says in the recording. [...] MacDonald apologized for his remarks in the Senate last February. He told media and Senate ethics officer Pierre Legault he had been drinking that evening. In the recording, MacDonald is heard asking that he not be recorded, and the videographer falsely claims he is not on tape. [...]
