TBH I was kind of cringing, waiting to see what they’d do with Jawbreaker and I’m very glad my fears were unfounded. Jawbreaker is a super sweet, well-considered character who gives me big “boys I’ve had crushes on in the past” vibes, he’s got old-school Cloud Cuckoolander vibes which is always the way I’ve preferred to receive my autistic rep, and I really like that the Earthspark team wants us to perceive him as a very compassionate, very caring, and that when there’s cross-communication issues, it’s not always Jawbreaker’s fault -- sometimes it’s the fault of the allistic characters around him who don’t listen, or expect him to communicate in a way he’s not prepared to do.
It’s just very sweet. I think Earthspark has a very loving attitude to the call-ins they make, there’s a real understanding that you can’t just write to the audience that knows someone like the character, you also need to write to the audience who would see themselves in that character. So often characters who are strongly coded neurodivergent come pre-judged by the narrative and have to narratively spend time endearing themselves to the audience -- Jawbreaker in contrast just gets to exist and be treated with full narrative agency from the start.

It was ! He had a head trauma as a child and also has ADHD which is why he has memory issues sometimes so he's unable to get a real job. Also the memory issues is why he plagiarised everything, he would copy text for 'refenrence ' and then forgor what he himself wrote and what he copied :(((
Speaking as someone whose head had been glued 3 separate times as a child before the age of 7, had 4 concussions in one school year, and has ADHD myself, I think I'm MORE than qualified to say: what a fucking loser lmaoo
Find a goddamn job that doesn't need you to use other people's work to "reference" then. Work retail like the fucking rest of us ya fucking pussy. Cope bitch.

o great and powerful sensei latlat, plz give me advice on how to beat up my bully neighbor >:( he has accused me of stealing his lawnmower and is gonna kick my ass for this made up crime ;A;
Tumblr media
S... Sen... Se... Sensei LatLat? Huh?!
Okay, um, please try to talk it out. Of all the things to fight someone over, landscaping seems like a really stupid reason to make things go bad...
If you really have to fight, though, the key is to know yourself? Know your skills and work with them. If you are strong and big, brute force is best. Endurance means focus on outlasting an opponent, being nimble means dodging more...
And I'm not any of those things, so I have to be smart. Having a solid understanding of anatomy and rupturing a vital organ is a surefire way to end a fight fast. Being small makes it easier to hit torso targets. But that's extreme, so again, try to talk it out. Maybe help him search for this lawnmower.
And if all else fails, get friends or family to help. Your neighbor might want to call you a coward for putting your trust in others, but he will not be able to call you anything if his teeth are kicked in by your trustworthy buddy.
Again, I cannot stress this enough, PLEASE DO NOT RESORT TO PHYSICAL VIOLENCE OVER A TOOL. This is reference for self-defense if this bully insists on escalating it into something truly dangerous or in other more dire situations. Maybe try conflict resolution therapy or something? Did you try pinning the blame on someone else? Or inviting him over for tea and calmly explaining the misunderstanding? Bake him a bread! Homemade bread is the most good-faith food there is!
Ooh, wait! Also, learn to improvise. Having a weapon with you all the time is extreme, but training yourself to look around you and thinking how you could defend yourself with mundane things is a good habit to get into. I've even used things like flowers and credit cards. Credit cards are actually quite effective when you file one edge into a blade beforehand. I always have a sharpened one on me just in case.
Ak, I keep talking, but I should have left it at don't fight over lawn care equipment. If you want to fight, get a real problem. Wait, no, don't - I don't mean - Don't fight! Just - Just forget this conversation happened, alright?! Do not fight him!

How Meditation Transforms Brain Biochemistry and Structure
Meditative practices can increase brain thickness and prevent thinning, potentially changing brain structure and chemistry at the cellular, genetic, and systemic levels. Though my background is rooted in technology and science, I am deeply drawn to metaphysics, mysticism, and spirituality — interests I explore for compelling reasons I have shared in previous stories. After years of physical,…

Sensory Overload: The Hidden Obstacle to Brain Injury Recovery
The Negative Impact of Sensory Overload on Brain Injury Recovery
#RT Sensory Overload: The Hidden Obstacle to Brain Injury Recovery https://ctbraininjury.com/post/sensory-overload-the-hidden-obstacle-to-brain-injury-recovery… The Negative Impact of Sensory Overload on Brain Injury Recovery Brain injury recovery is a complex process that often involves various therapies and treatments to help patients regain their cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities. However, one of the lesser-known factors that can hinder recovery is sensory overload. This phenomenon occurs when the brain is inundated with information from the five senses--light, sound, taste, touch, and smell--and is unable to process it effectively. As a result, the brain perceives this as a threat and goes into fight, flight, or freeze mode, which can exacerbate symptoms and delay progress in rehabilitation. Increased Anxiety and Stress When the brain is overwhelmed by sensory input, it can trigger anxiety and stress responses. These heightened emotional states can exacerbate existing symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, and cognitive difficulties. Moreover, chronic stress and anxiety can impair neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt and rewire itself, which is crucial for recovery after an injury. #sensory overload, brain injury recovery, #rehabilitation, #anxietyty, #stresss, cognitive function, sleep disturbances, emotional dysregulation, calm environment, #neuroplasticity, #occupationaltherapy therapy, physical therapy, cognitive fatigue, sleep schedule, weighted blankets, fidget toys, gradual exposure, stimulating environments, professional support, neuropsychologist, sensory aids, interpersonal relationships, functional recovery, independence, sensory stimulation #tbisurvivor #tbirecovery #tbiawareness #strokesurvivor #strokeprevention #strokerecovery #stroke #strokeawareness #braininjury #braintumorsurvivor #brainhealth ABI Resources is a reputable organization that provides exceptional support to individuals and families in collaboration with various government agencies and community service providers, including the Connecticut Department of Social Services DSS, COU Community Options, the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services DMHAS, Connecticut Community Care CCC CCCI Southwestern Connecticut Area on Aging SWCAA, Western Connecticut Area on Aging WCAAA, Allied Community Resources ACR, Access Health, and United Services.
