Sun: Are you okay Sunshine? You don't look like you're doing too well.
Y/N: (strained speech) Oh it's okay, it's just the usual abdominal pain I have to deal with, it's fine. I'm good.
Sun: But... You're hunched over... You're breathing really heavy, and you can't move.
Y/N: Yeah, just give me an hour and I'll be okay, the painkillers will kick in by then.
Sun: (Disbelief) If you're in that much pain, if you're in any amount of pain, you should go home!
Y/N: Sun, if I went home every day I was in pain, you wouldn't ever see me.
Sun: ...

it’s basically a rite of passage for every one of Bruce’s robins to sneak behind his back, try on Batman’s cape, and then nearly topple to the floor as they realize it’s close to 25 lbs of reinforced Kevlar and insulation.

Happy Birthday!
To me :^)
Well, technically tomorrow 2 June, but I somehow finished this today.
I thought I'd have finished the Krang infection comic by now so I could have a happy birthday ending, but we're not there yet.
I uh never draw backgrounds or like to colour, but I love fully coloured pieces and well here we are. Trying my best to create something out of my comfort zone.
As a bday gift to myself I'm going to watch the new spiderverse tomorrow evening!

I was reading a lot of "Jon turns into a cat" fics recently and realized that no one has given Martin the opportunity to take feline form yet! So I'm granting him the privilege myself :)
Next
[ID: Four sequential drawings of Martin Blackwood from the Magnus Archives. Martin is a fat white man with short ginger hair, round glasses, and wearing a sweater.
Image 1) Martin reaches for a purple book sat on a surface in front of him. Curiously, he says "What's this?"
Image 2) The book cover is visible to the viewer now, where it was cut off from the frame in the previous drawing. On it is some text that reads "Nine Miserable Lives" where the first word is written in blocky text, and the last word is written in a white, cursive font. There is also an image of a cat in the cover. It is tall and glaring at the viewer. Martin, offscreen comments "Cute cat."
Image 3) A full landscape shot showing a bit of the archives stacks in the background. Up front, Martin stands next to a desk and has the cat book now open in his hands. He exclaims "Oh, wait. This has Leitner's name in it!"
Image 4) The same image, except where Martin was once standing there is now a fluffy, orange cat revealed behind a puff of smoke. The cat seems shocked.

So what if the S.T.A.F.F at the Pizzaplex used masks just as often as Fazwatches?
I know that in the item description for the "Security Mask" in Ruin, it says that technicians at the Pizzaplex specifically used masks (which is already kinda weird considering it's called a "security" mask), but what if everyone on staff had access to them to some extent?
I think it's an interesting idea, especially for those in the Daycare Attendant (DCA) sphere, because the security masks seemingly give you the ability to speak to the AI of the DCA that isn't currently active. Which I feel like you could do a lot with. Also, Ruin gave us two masks for Sun and Moon (whereas in base Security Breach there was only the "comedy" and "tragedy" masks), so you have options for whichever your character, Y/n, or OC would use.
Plus you have all of the weird psychological effects the masks seem to have on staff, including being able to hear the voices of people who aren't there, and children screaming.
Imagine you/your character working in the daycare, and suddenly whenever you put the mask on, you swear you hear children crying for help or screaming. The volume of this, and the number of voices you hear steadily gets louder and louder over the course of months. Until you hauntingly realize that it seems to coincide with both Moon's virus infection, his increased violence, and the number of children that have gone missing. As Fazbear Entertainment realizes Moon is way too volatile to be around the children anymore, and decides to have lights on in the Daycare 24/7, the only way you'd be able to interact with Moon would be with the mask on. However, Moon slowly and painfully becomes a madman you barely recognize anymore because of the virus's corruption.
Imagine having Sun stand in front of you, putting the mask on, then having to listen to a horribly deteriorated and hostile Moon start babbling off about how you "need to go to sleep" and just generally saying very violent things but he's ultimately unable to actually do anything to you because, in reality, Sun has control of the body.
Imagine discovering that Moon is the one responsible for the children going missing? That he (as well as the Glamrocks) have been tampered with so that they'll swipe unattended children away and take them to Vanny when an opportunity arises? And to make matters worse, there are adults that have gone missing too, other members of staff, that you realize, probably discovered what was going on and were silenced.
And all you want to do is find a way to help Moon and free him from that control, without getting yourself killed in the process. Which could maybe be resolved by you figuring out how to reboot them into Eclipse? Something like that.
I would really like to write something for this idea, but if you're reading this and you like this idea, please write something yourself too if you want and send it to me! I'd love to read it!

BROTHERS
The river Weser ran between the Roman and Cheruscan forces. Arminius came to the bank and halted with his fellow chieftains:— "Had the Caesar come?" he inquired. On receiving the reply that he was in presence, he asked to be allowed to speak with his brother. That brother, Flavus by name, was serving in the army, a conspicuous figure both from his loyalty and from the loss of an eye through a wound received some few years before during Tiberius' term of command. Leave was granted, and Stertinius took him down to the river. Walking forward, he was greeted by Arminius; who, dismissing his own escort, demanded that the archers posted along our side of the stream should be also withdrawn. When these had retired, he asked his brother, whence the disfigurement of his face? On being told the place and battle, he inquired what reward he had received. Flavus mentioned his increased pay, the chain, the crown, and other military decorations; Arminius scoffed at the cheap rewards of servitude.
They now began to argue from their opposite points of view. Flavus insisted on "Roman greatness, the power of the Caesar; the heavy penalties for the vanquished; the mercy always waiting for him who submitted himself. Even Arminius' wife and child were not treated as enemies." His brother urged "the sacred call of their country; their ancestral liberty; the gods of their German hearths; and their mother, who prayed, with himself, that he would not choose the title of renegade and traitor to his kindred, to the kindred of his wife, to the whole of his race in fact, before that of their liberator." From this point they drifted, little by little, into recriminations; and not even the intervening river would have prevented a duel, had not Stertinius run up and laid a restraining hand on Flavus, who in the fullness of his anger was calling for his weapons and his horse. On the other side Arminius was visible, shouting threats and challenging to battle: for he kept interjecting much in Latin, as he had seen service in the Roman camp as a captain of native auxiliaries.
Tacitus Annals 2.10-11
there's a lot going on in there! Arminius switching to Latin is a detail that always makes me feel a deep kind of sadness, especially with how it's preceded by mention of their mother. I wonder what she thought of what became of her sons, on opposite sides of everything but still, inescapably, brothers. even when they want to kill each other. there sure are a lot of fucked up and unhappy brothers around. and Arminius asking about Flavus' injury............I also had a whole thing typed out about the horror of imperialism and colonization and the trauma of assimilation but I think this sets the tone better
Rome's Greatest Defeat: Massacre in the Teutoburg Forest, Adrian Murdoch
and also this, just for fun
(ibid)
this post is already a mile long, so lets add another mile to it: a little scene at the start of their conversation! tfw you go in for a hug and your younger brother who also ended up being taller starts roasting your hair style
