My computer died recently in the middle of working on the next TWST Monster AU drawing. Lost all progress on the drawing, but thankfully the writing is backed up on my phone. Since I did recently leave my job- due to being mistreated by said job- it may be a hot minute until I can do more Monster AU work until I get another computer (and I unfortunately game on this computer, meaning I won't settle for a computer that can't run my games so the next PC I get will be strong enough to run my games and cost me half my soul) or I get my ancient 10+ year old laptop to run my drawing software without making me want to throw it. Unfortunately, my garbage bin brain has a tendency to throw a fit and quit when I lose progress on something, so it may be a while until I feel like drawing those characters again (it was of Floyd and Jade) but I will still try to work on the Monster AU in the interim.

Note: I wanted to only use Monster AU art on my chapters, but I am happy to take fan-art (giving appropriate credit, of course) and use those for the pictures (since I recognize notifications based on the picture/art used) to post more chapters if anyone feels like tossing a few my way.

I have found a new appreciation of alt text since Babygirl, my new gaming laptop, refuses to load images (and videos) on Tumblr half the time. (A Babygirl problem, the writing laptop does it just fine.)

I will happily draft as post for later perusing (from mobile) if the comments are intriguing or the alt text promising me something I want. So many of y'all tag even lass than me to glean info about the image content from. Just sayin. Though alt text often helps me realise that something is not an image I will lose sleep over if I don't see it. (wrong fandom, cats…)

Anyway I started relying on alt text A Lot and if there's just an image with nothing (no tags, comments, alt text) I'm mostly just skipping that by now. Oops.

So yeh. Not even making a point here.

So my beloved computer crashed quite spectacularly and took more than seven excruciating hours repairing its main drive before finally starting at all. Right now it seems to be running, but I have no idea if it's for good or...

So just in case of a sudden disappearance, that might be why. because I honestly hate, hate, hate accessing tumblr on my phone. Trying to catch up for a bit, but my tumblr time is quite limited today, sorry!

Well this is...concerning. For the past couple of months while gaming, my computer will occasionally hard freeze, both monitors just lock up, mouse doesn't move, no more sound, can't interact, no button prompts, just frozen, forcing me to hard shut down.

I figured it was probably a graphics card issue, which mine is very old and I'm planning to replace it soon, but i noticed something...this happens specifically with online games like Final Fantasy XIV and Warframe. I've had no issues with Cyberpunk 2077 or Total War Warhammer 3 (I play campaign not multiplayer), not a one other game has caused this.

I also have a simple little program for monitoring temps and today I turned it on and...clicking warframe and booting it up, my temps spiked to critical, 100C just logging in...and then immediately after a split second went back to a more normal temp. I load into a mission...it happens again and then just as quickly goes back to normal.

I boot up Cyberpunk 2077 run through some city, do a story mission...the temps are higher than resting but that's to be expected, no 100C no warning about critical temps and I can't readily find someone online who's had a similar problem...

Okay. The new fan arrived and I've swapped them out! So far so good. Fingers crossed we don't hear the tiny kitten with the chainsaw inside my computer again...

I don't know who needs to hear this but:

Restart your computer.

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone but if you're having computer trouble restart it. It solves like 90% of computer problems because the computer will forget what the problem was and go back to being normal.

Sorry I haven’t been very active this week, between stress and my computer shitting itself, again, it’s been hard trying to just sit down and focus on one thing. Still currently fighting with my computer and my new one can’t come any sooner… even though it’s been weather delayed.. yippie…

I finally figured out how to use my printer! It's listed with the wireless networks. I have to disconnect from the internet and connect to it as if it were a router. How the fuck did this happen? I don't know! But I can use my printer again, so it's ok

Tried Honour Mod in Baldur's Gate 3.

If anyone is wondering what the holdup is with new A Change of Spark chapters firstly it's existential grief angst, then it's trying to build my new business, and thirdly it's this:

It had this screen for the four days that I was away on Vancouver Island plus the two before it. A Change of Spark is on that laptop; it is backed up elsewhere, but my laptop is my only device capable of opening the file.

My laptop needs repairs but I can't afford them right now. 🫠 So I will just be writing on my iPad for a bit (which means Rise Up may get a update soon but not A Change of Spark.)
