Protean Anagram Solutions
When I started making proteans last summer, I decided to name them all after a person, shuffling the letters in the name to make an anagram. I challenged my followers to figure out who each protean was named after.
So here's the solutions. Some of these people got when the monsters were originally posted. Others I got no replies on.
Tumblr media
The temortanga, protean of fashion, was named after Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga
Tumblr media
The alengos, protean of plant life and ecology, was named after Henry Gleason, an ecologist who argued against a universal "climax community" and that every ecosystem had a unique balance of plant life.
Tumblr media
The ricretillo, protean of weather, air and water, was named after Evangelista Torricelli, who invented the barometer and was the first to explain how winds form from differences in air pressure and temperature.
Tumblr media
The cthilpuk, protean of emotions and moods, was named after Robert Plutchik, who created a psychological classification for emotions.
Tumblr media
The yexhul, protean of evolution and animal life, was named after the Huxley clan, particularly Thomas Henry Huxley, first generation evolutionary biologist, and his grandsons Julian (a eugenicist) and Aldous (who parodied eugenics in Brave New World as a dig at his brother).
Tumblr media
The heputwisa, protean of conspiracies and lies, was named after Adam Weishaupt, founder of the Bavarian Illuminati.
Tumblr media
The renegwe, protean of plate tectonics, earth and fire was named after Alfred Wegener, proponent of continental drift

Create a Creature With Me! Final Part
Create a Creature With Me! Final Part: Naming
We're going to name our large feathered friend. I took some of the features voted on (feather, eyes, horned, triocular, talon) and translated them into German, French, Spanish and Finnish... yes, with Google Translate (don't hate me!).
I combined some of the resulting words into names. Vote on your favorite one.
May your favorite be ever in favor with the odds ;P
This game has been incredibly fun. Once this one's over, I'll have to come up with another game. Maybe I'll turn this into a whole series of "make this with me" polls and create a story out of the results. Don't know if you all would be into something like that, but if so, let me know!

Oy the billy bumbler wishes you a happy new year! Billy bumblers are wary yet social creatures from Stephen King's Dark Tower series; Oy is reckoned to be one of the last bumblers capable of mimicking human speech. I imagine billy bumblers as a cross between a badger and a border collie.

Have you ever wanted to play a cute monster taming game with lots of love and heart put into every inch and corner of it by a Team of fantastically talented artists?
Me too!! Too bad it got cancelled literally a few weeks before it was going to be anounced!
Artist Nicholas Kole on twitter along with many other talented artists have been sharing their work of nearly 4 years on this game. I cant imagine the heartbreak of working so hard on this project only for it to get canceled right before Release and everyone on the Team to get laid off.
It was meant to be an open world, minecraft inspired builder, with all sorts of unique creatures with various skins, variations depending on biomes, and even petting animations. That you could tame! It also had a large amount of beautiful and unique character customization. Here's some of the art ( NOT MY ART ) for the project!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently alot of this game was near finished, coded, etc! ( ART ABOVE IS BY NICHOLAS KOLE , JOHANNES FIGLHUBER, INES MARSAL, AND MARIA LOBANOVA )
I dont know if the artists can look into crowdfunding ( the Studio still may own the IP ) , but myself and a few others have been trying to get the hashtag #bringbackprojectdragon get some traction on twitter! Maybe if the internet raises enough stink, the Studio might pay attention. Im not sure how likely that is but I desperately want thus game to exsist, it would be a dream game for me and many others im sure. So please consider joining in if you have a twitter.

Super cambrian (and pre-cambrian) aquarium world...
Featuring the new creatures Arandaspis and Hallucigenia, and the new blocks Wiwaxia and Charnia, as well as a fresh new look for Sacabambaspis 🙏 Also featuring Aquarium Glass from Fintastic (what used to be Yet Another Fish Mod because Curseforge doesn't like when you put the word "mod" in your title)

As you may have noticed, the project has undergone some changes!
The name 'DigiPet' was just a placeholder (trademark owned by somebody else), and based on our recent lore-building, we have changed the name of the project to:
🌠 Wishlings 🌠
Wishlings is an in-development virtual pet game for mobile (PC planned eventually), with evolution and sandbox mechanics. We are inspired by Digimon World and Tamagotchi!
🌌The team:
Art: @tofupixel @ilta222
Programming: @luckycloverdev
Audio: @theogbaschfire
🌟 As for the world itself:
The game takes place in a dream / imagination land, which you first arrive at in your sleep. These creatures are basically imaginary friends, dreamed up by people all over the world. They can take many fantastical forms, but they all seem to be a bit magical.
They're going through some trouble right now, as Nightmare creatures are threatening their existence!
Treat them well, evolve them, train them and fight the Nightmare entities to bring peace back to the dream world. 🌠
🌟 The gameplay:
At first, you start with a dream egg. It will soon hatch into a baby monster! Treat it right, feed it and take care of it to influence how it grows up and evolves.
There are (so far) 5 evolution levels: Egg, Baby, Youth, Adult and Elder.
You can grow your own food and ingredients in your own backyard farm.
Cook the ingredients to make better meals. Different pets have different food preferences, some are carnivorous, some vegetarian!
Decorate your pet's habitat to influence it's personality and mood. We hope you will experiment a lot with the treatment of your pets to discover more evolutions! 🌠
🌟 Planned minigames:
Farming (growing food and ingredients)
Sky Fishing (catching food)
Walks (exercise your pet and find items)
Cooking (combine ingredients to make better food)
Battling (defeat enemy monsters to make your pet stronger and get items)
Tumblr media
We are happy to have you here, it means so much that you're interested in the game!
And if you have any suggestions, or want to keep up with development more, please join our discord server! 🌠

Yes and yes. My spec evo content is both "conversions of existing spec evo lifeforms into Pathfinder monsters" and "considers evolution and ecology whenever writing monsters"
Related poll to that last one...

You might’ve already addressed this, but have you ever played My Horse Prince?
I don’t think I have talked about it, but no I haven’t played My Horse Prince. I am aware of it though, and I’ve seen a lot of gameplay footage of the first 30 minutes. Real funky stuff ain’t it?
I’ve been getting screenshots of the game ever since I’ve started drawing Binghorse, and MAN THEY GET RIDICULOUS 😭

A random thought: salamanders in real life are vaguely lizardlike amphibians, while salamanders in mythology are fire spirits. What would you give as an alternate name for one or the other, so there wouldn't be any confusion between the two creatures?
If you're looking for an alternative name for elemental salamanders, go to the source! Paracelsus calls them vulcani in Latin, so vulcanus would be singular. Other options would be agni or tejas, which are Sanskrit names for elemental fire. Or, you could be cheeky, and call them lurchis, after a German salamander shoe mascot

Create a Creature With Me! Part VII
Alright, so far we have decided our friend has feathers, goat-like horns and wings, 3 slit eyes with nictitating membranes, is the size of a tree and 8 sexes...
Now help me to decide...
And if you would, please send me any name ideas that you have for our friend, as that will be the next poll. I'll pick as many as I can and people will vote on their favorite. You can send your ideas via asks, comments on here or reblogs (in tags or captions). :)
Have fun! I know I am ~

Do you have any ‘rare’ supernatural creatures?
Writing Ideas: Rare Supernatural Creatures
Bokkenrijders: Little is known about these figures from Dutch folklore, who called the name of the devil to summon flying goats that they would ride through the air, to practice untold acts of mischief. The name — "goat riders" in Dutch — was applied in the 18th century to bands of robbers that wild rumors described as the terrifying, flying goat riders of legend. Men suspected of being bokkenrijders were tortured and executed, with accusations condemning 31 people from a single municipality in Belgium between 1744 and 1776, the Belgian website Flanders Today reported.
Draugr: The resurrected corpses of Viking warriors, were terrifying, zombie-like mythical creatures that roamed the world searching for their victims. They could be clearly recognized by the stench of rotting flesh and their deathly black or blue skin. The draugr possessed staggering strength, could increase their body size as they wished, and haunted the dreams of the living. In some versions of the myth, these undead mythological creatures were also thought to have several magical powers such as shapeshifting, premonitions, and weather control. The only motivation for these bloodthirsty creepy creatures was to slaughter any living being, whether humans or livestock, to satiate their thirst for flesh and blood. The draugr condition appeared to be contagious, like modern ideas of zombies, as those killed by the draugr would resurrect themselves as these creatures. The draugr were pretty indestructible, and the only way to kill them was through decapitation, incineration of the body, and discarding of the ashes in the sea.
Finfolk: In the Orkney Islands, an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Scotland, people once whispered of the Finfolk, a tribe of sorcerers and shapeshifters who were skilled at boating and who could bend the ocean to their will. Finfolk could live underwater or on land, though their permanent home was usually described as a marvelous city at the bottom of the ocean, and they would venture into towns and villages to steal humans as husbands or wives, according to Orkneyjar, a nonprofit website describing Orkney history and folklore.
Futakuchi-onna: This eerie creature looks like an ordinary woman, but has a ravenous second mouth on the back of her head, hidden by her hair. The mouth is insatiable; it gorges on any food it can find, fed by animated strands of the woman's hair, and usually appears as a punishment afflicting people who are extremely greedy or stingy, according to Yokai.com, an online database of Japanese ghosts and monsters.
Gashadokuro: Gigantic mythological creatures amalgamated from the bones of human skeletons in Japanese mythology. In situations of mass death, such as famines or wars, individuals could not receive proper funeral rites and thus were unable to move on after death. As their bodies decayed, their souls became twisted with wrath and resentment towards the living. Their souls and bones merged into one enormous being called a Gashadokuro, translated as the “starving skeleton.” Terrifyingly silent, aside from the unnerving chattering of their teeth, these mythical creatures skulked around deep in the night, looking for their prey. Finding their victim, they decapitated them and drank their blood. A Gashadokuro would continue terrorizing the night until the resentment of every soul residing within the creature had dwindled, no longer animating the skeletal monster.
Mare: In Norse mythology, a mare was a demonic spirit who had the ability to induce nightmares in sleeping people. During the night, this mythological creature would sneak into a person’s home through their keyhole. Climbing upon the chest of the sleeping individual, they would provoke terrifying nightmares based upon the sleeper’s fears and anxieties. Their victim would experience a heavy weight on their chest, awareness of a dark presence, and find themselves unable to move or wake up, an ancient mythological explanation of what is now known as sleep paralysis. A mare was considered a female demon who was typically depicted as either a youthful, beautiful woman or an old, hideous hag.
Nuckelavee: The Scottish Nuckelavee is a "skinless centaur" with a snout like a pig's that expels gusts of steam, a single enormous eye, and arms that drag upon the ground, according to the "Encyclopedia of Fairies in World Folklore and Mythology" (McFarland, 2013). It lives in the ocean and can kill people by breathing on them, leading them to waste away and eventually die.
Penanggalan: In Malay myth, a Penanggalan was once a mortal woman who performed witchcraft and black magic. A popular version of the myth states that one woman agreed to become vegetarian for 40 days in exchange for youthful beauty. Ultimately, she broke her pact and was cursed to become a flesh-eating Penanggalan. During the day, she resembled an ordinary woman, but at night, her head would detach from her body, floating around with her trailing entrails. This disembodied figure flew around searching for sustenance in the form of pregnant women and infants, draining them of their blood; those fed on by this vampiric creature ended up contracting a fatal disease. Returning to her abode, a Penanggalan would soak herself in vinegar to shrink her organs back into her body. A Penanggalan, therefore, could be recognized during the day by this tell-tale smell of vinegar.

Okay so I have this... This kind of messy and I'm sorry for grammar ;-;
Yes yes dream is afraid of height but he also can jump really high, yes he's afraid while doing it lmao so he prefers running and doing parkour.
Techno like reading like anything, so he read all of magic books that he can get, he can memorize all of it but sometimes he need times to cast some of magic, he need practice first but the theory is already on his head.
Dream has magic as well but kinda lazy to learn it, why he learn it when he have his best friend doing it for him? (That's gonna bite him in the ass later)
So yeah this is the info about their "human forms" may or may not add another info later, and I need to make their "beast forms" soon...
