Claude and Alois were such wasted potential :( it would have been so nice to see more of their bond together as much as we saw Ciel and Sebastian. Alois could’ve had a much better developed story than he did and we’d know more about Alois and Claude as a duo instead of “claude hungry and rude, Alois crybaby and abusive”.

I'm a 25 year old hobby fanfic writer in my free time, as well as an artist. Hey, just wondering if you like other medias (series/books/comics) featuring demons and/or angels!

For example: Good Omens, Devilman Crybaby, The Sandman (comics and Netflix adaptation), Saint Young Men, Lucifer (Vertigo comics), Lucifer TV (presented as an adaptation of the Lucifer comics but it couldn't be more different from them), Supernatural, Dominion, Kuroshitsuji (manga, not the anime), Blue Exorcist (same), Memnoch the Devil, Constantine, Mr B Gone?

Good Omens: LOVED the book, greatly enjoyed the TV show but dropped off watching it a bit because it's hard for me to keep my attention on shows sometimes nowadays!

Devilman Crybaby: I have a friend that always recommends me exclusively absolutely deranged media and so I binged the entire show in one sitting with her on my mom's couch a few years ago. Was not sober. No regrets about that choice. What the fuck.

Lucifer (TV): I love Lucifer the TV show and am fully caught up on it at all times even if it's not always a 10/10. Forget Hazbin Hotel, this is the TV show that has guaranteed that if I ever get a cat of my own, she's going to be named Lucy-short-for-Lucifer. I almost wrote a fic for this once, but it was for post-devil-reveal and the new season came out before I could find the motivation to finish it. Also, big shoutout to this show for actually including the daddy issues inherent to any character named Lucifer. I've watched the first season at least 3 times.

Supernatural: Hahaha. ;)

Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji: What does it tell you about me that Alois Trancy has been my favorite character from the moment he gouged out that maid's eyeball?

As for the rest, I haven't seen/read them! I'm sure there are others (I love Castlevania, depending on how you define 'devils'), but I don't remember off the top of my head! Oh, and I'm sure that The Good Place counts.

I'm not even remotely religious, but I greatly enjoy exploring angels and demons in media from the perspective of the flaws inherent in certain views on morality, as well as just individuals who aren't human but struggle with humanity (both their own and that of others). I think Hazbin Hotel is doing both!

Honestly I just noticed this but people tend to treat Alois and Billy very similarly in the way of brushing off their trauma and/or putting them down because they react in the "wrong" way. Just wanted to say this, as someone who is very protective of Alois. It's disheartening to see, and I don't like the implications of it either. People don't treat victims who don't fit the "perfect victim" model well.

Especially since we see them treat other victims fine, but only if those victims react the "right" way by having a support system and being scared. Plus, in my experience, they tend to run this narrative of "this character (the "perfect" victim) is pure and good and sensitive and cries and can do no wrong and everyone else is hurting them", no matter how untrue that is (ex: Ciel Phantomhive, which is the biggest example of this I've seen. They refuse to accept that he's cold and calculating and can do Bad Things (like murder) just as much as the others do).

True! I see this with Will, the woobification you mentioned. A lot of people say hes an uwu crybaby who always suffers and everyone is mean to. When, no, he's bitch whose canonically called both his siblings friendless (lmao), hes just also gone through a lot of trauma and has pstd.

Mera! what was the anime that you watch back when you were still new in anime for only the characters, but when you decided to re watch it the story was actually fucked up 💀 mine was diabolik lovers (13 year old me was obsessed with shu 😭) brother conflict (...... i dont have comments in this) amnesia (the part where the dude lock the girl in the cage 💀) and danganronpa

Looking back on it now, little Mera watched all sorts of dark anime. ^^;;; I’ll put it under a cut because of potential spoilers for some of the anime discussed.

I also watched Diabolik Lovers (Kanato was my favorite) and Danganronpa. I remember feeling so depressed after what happened to Sakura. She was one of my favorite characters. I loved her friendship with Aoi. T_T I attempted to watch Brother’s Conflict, but I couldn’t get past the first episode because there were so many characters to keep up with.

I watched Watamote, which was dark in its own way. I felt terribly for Tomoko and how hard she tried to fit in. I remember feeling very satisfied with the ending, but it’s been so long since I’ve last seen it. I’ll have to watch it again to better appreciate the series and relive the nostalgia of watching it for the first time.

In my early teenage years, I watched Netflix’s Devilman Crybaby when it first came out. To this day, it’s one of my favorite anime. I rewatch it every year and each time it gives me pain, but it’s just so good.

This image is forever engraved in my mind. They really had me in the first half until I saw Akira’s lips were getting progressively dry. I also watched Japan Sinks in 2020 and that was another wave of pain and sadness. I’ve been meaning to rewatch it!

Black Butler was also really dark. Ciel makes a pact with a demon after being held captive by a cult (if I remember correctly) and he’s essentially a young boy trying to navigate adult society. Alois’s backstory was also really sad and dark. It seems no one can be happy in Black Butler. I haven’t caught up with the manga, but apparently Ciel has a twin!

Panty & Stocking wasn’t dark, but it was very explicit and it was an anime I had watched when I was first getting into anime. I probably shouldn’t have watched it at my age, but I thought the two main characters had really pretty designs and the art style was unique. Luckily, most of the sexual jokes went over my head. I just thought the premise of angels fighting demons and ghosts after getting kicked out of heaven was interesting lol.

There are probably other anime I haven’t mentioned yet, but those were a few I remembered. Amnesia has been on my to-watch list for years now. Maybe I should finally watch it soon?

Personality: Percy has a very nervous disposition. He’s shy, panicky, and has little confidence. Needless to say, he scares easily. He’s very sensitive, and has little control over his emotions, so he’s a bit of a crybaby. However, he’s also kind and gentle. He hates seeing others suffer, and will do whatever he can to help them. Percy is rather intelligent, cautious, and a good actor.

Important Facts: 

--Percy has severe scarring all over his body. The burns on his torso came from Red Mary, and most of the lacerations are from the accident that cost him his arm. He has more than that, but the ones on his back and torso are the only ones he’s comfortable talking about or letting people see.

--Percy has quite a bit of musical talent. Except where the piano is concerned. The piano eludes him.

--Due to experiencing trauma, Percy suffers from panic attacks and frequent nightmares. He also has multiple phobias-Pyrophobia, monophobia, nyctophobia, and dementophobia among them. Each stems from a traumatic experience-his pyrophobia stems from seeing his loved ones die in a ship fire, his monophobia stems from spending several months on a burned-out shell of an island, his nyctophobia stems from the accident that cost him his arm, and his dementophobia stems from witnessing his godfather’s mental breakdown.

--There are very few people that Percy truly trusts, but the few that he does trust fully are the following: Poppy Blackwood, Alois Heartfelt, Milo Blackwood, Janice Stewart, and Calvery Stankoff.

--Percy has multiple comfort objects: His father’s old locket, and a doll made to resemble Lillian Lee

--Percy’s magic hasn’t yet manifested, but he was born under the sign of Dark Magic

--Percy is bilingual, and speaks both English and German
