Though Germany has come far concerning the rights of the lgbtq-community, the encroaching far-right developments threaten to take them away again.

And even if they don't, there's still much to do:

When two heterosexual people with children re-marry, the man is automatically considered the father of the children of their spouse. This isn't the case for lesbian couples. The other mother has to adopt - a process that takes years. (Abstammungsrecht)

Queer people are not yet protected against discrimination (Grundgesetz) under the constitution. This has to change.

We have to properly fight hate speech and hate crimes against queer people on the web and in real-life. These efforts need to be properly funded by the state.

Sadly, in Germany as well, the right wing has chosen trans people as scapegoats for their populism. There is talk of reversing the strenuously won self-determination law (Selbstbestimmungsgesetz), which makes it MUCH easier for trans people to change their legal first names.

Protect trans lives.

Cool cool cool. The German parliament decided to stop sponsoring the Christopher street day in Berlin due to their "duty of neutrality".

For people outside the loop: a lot of organisation teams already receive death threats and just last weekend a similar street party was attacked by people with batons.
