THE RAFAEL BARBA EDITION

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

It takes a while for Rafael to open up and be truly affectionate with you. He’s slower than most, but still a gentleman and spoils you whenever he can. As your relationship progresses however and as Rafael feels more and more comfortable with you & your relationship together, then he is extremely affectionate towards you and absolutely cherishes you. Cuddles, kisses, hand holding etc. you name it, when Rafael treats you like this, you’re The One for him.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

You and Rafael click quickly as friends and have a great friendship together. You’re an Assistant United States Attorney while he is an Assistant District Attorney for Manhattan, and can usually be found in each other’s offices having lunch and a catch up. He loves that you’re snarky and sassy like him, and unafraid to stick up for yourself & victims and survivors. Rafael is a great friend to have, he’s always a phone call away, with the greatest advice and shoulder to cry on if needed. He loves surprising you with tickets to a Broadway show, museum tours etc.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Rafael isn’t the cuddliest at the start of the relationship but he melts easily after a while with your hugs and cuddles. He isn’t used to affection unless from his Mami or Abuelita. Rafael loves hugging you from behind, cuddling on the couch or in his home study & office after hours.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Only when Rafael knows for certain that you are The One 100% will he want to settle down fully. He didn’t have the nicest home life due to his father and has had his heart broken by people he loved & trusted. As he has been a bachelor for years, Rafael is adept at cooking & cleaning but takes his laundry to the dry cleaners. His house is pristine, but he longs for the day that you & him are married with a child playing with their toys in the living room.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Rafael is a gentleman, somewhat old fashioned yet distant at first so he would likely break up with you face to face. He thinks it rude to do it over the phone or to ghost someone especially if they’re someone like you.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

You and Rafael are together for a while before he decides to propose marriage, as he wanted to be certain you were not going to break his heart or leave. You’ve moved in together after a couple of years and Rafael knows you’re not bothered by his wariness & past. Once he proposes, you marry within the year in a quiet close knit ceremony at the Catholic church nearby as a tribute to his Mami & Abuelita.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

As he was abused physically and emotionally by his own father and had his heart broken before, Rafael is gentle and kind towards you. He might be less so at the start, accidentally screwing up or putting work before you, but after a while Rafael becomes an open book to you. He’ll never ever raise a hand or fist to you, and he never curses or swears at you, but sometimes he does snap or bite when he’s stressed.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Rafael hates admitting it but he loves hugs, he’s so touch starved and loves getting to collapse into your arms after a long stressful day. He’s very gentle with his hugs, rubbing your back as you rest your head in the crook of his neck. Sometimes he hums a song at night.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

As said before, Rafael doesn’t say I Love You for a while but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t show his love for you. He struggles opening up, showing himself truly and being vulnerable with anyone, and when he gets to that point of being vulnerable & comfortable, then he says it quickly and doesn’t stop saying it.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Rafael does get jealous but it is down to the insecurities he has himself and not about you, he’s been dumped for other guys before and he knows how incredible you are that Rafael always wonders — why did you choose him of all people to be with, what is so loveable about him? Rafael will busy himself with work more often when he’s feeling like that, but he also gets possessive to an extent and makes sure to let you know how much he loves you.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Rafael Barba aka Makeout King. He is almost timid at first, scared that he might’ve crossed the line when he kisses you that first time. But his kisses are electrifying, intoxicating and downright sweet at the same time. When he’s fully comfortable with you, Rafael can’t stop kissing you and will kiss anywhere he can on you.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Rafael doesn’t have much if any experience with kids, especially babies. But he isn’t against them, and he loves getting to teach them things, whether it is some basic Spanish, a fairy tale book or some random facts. Rafael worries about hurting children, having seen how his own father acted and behaved. After a while, Rafael does get more comfortable around younger children as you have nieces, nephews and godchildren that all end up calling him Tío Rafa.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Rafael hates mornings, and only brightens up when you suggest showering together to save time… although you sometimes end up rushing out the door after too long in the shower together. In the kitchen, Rafael makes a beeline for the professional coffee maker that you bought as a birthday present for him and makes a very strong coffee for himself and a cappuccino for yourself. Usually, Rafael has prepared his briefcase & outfit the night before. You make sure he takes some actual lunch with him also.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nighttimes are spent together either in Rafael’s study (he brings his work home now that he has you, not staying extremely late at the office) and you end up working together or talking about work, life and each other. Rafael gives you a massage while you pour him a small glass of his favourite scotch.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Rafael is very slow to open up and reveal things about himself. You met Lucia by accident, as you had dropped by his office at Hogan Place to talk/argue about a case that each of you were certain to have jurisdiction over, and there she was when you greeted him with a “Rafi amor…” - needless to say Lucia hated that Rafael had been hiding you away from her. You try so hard to make Rafael realise that his traumatic past doesn’t define him or who he is.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Rafael is usually very patient with you, and especially with you compared to others. He tries so hard to not get angry or even irritated by you, but when he’s had a bad day at work or having one, every single thing anyone does seems to annoy him.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Rafael has a giant brain and incredible memory, but sometimes when he’s stressed out with case after case, he does end up with things slipping his mind and he hates it. Rafael is also able to remember things you’ve said you have liked in passing or in conversation, even months back but he remembers it and buys you whatever it was.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Rafael’s favorite moment in your relationship was when he brought you to his Mami, Lucia’s home for the first time for Sunday lunch & dinner. You and his Mami got along instantly, and he was amazed at how quickly his Mami liked you as she was usually overprotective of him. It was that day, seeing you laugh and smile with his Mami, that Rafael knew you were The One and that you fit in perfectly with his family.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Rafael is very protective of you, and would have an armed escort following you around if he could. He’s had people blackmail him in the past and death threats against him, but Rafael doesn’t worry or care about himself, his main focus is you. Rafael likes knowing how protective you are of him in return, how much you love and look out for him.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Rafael puts a lot of effort into dates, anniversaries and gifts, only the best will do for you in his eyes. Both of you work as attorneys and have long hours, but Rafael will spoil you with an anniversary trip to Gstaad or The Bahamas, a nice bottle of champagne or wine, a nice pair of Christian Louboutin heels etc. Every day however, he does his best to be an excellent boyfriend or fiancé or husband and enjoys just being with you.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Rafael can get hyper-focused on work and ends up working himself thin and bare. At first in the relationship, he would prioritise his Mami & Abuelita over you and while it didn’t bother you, he did it a lot until he realised that you were upset. He works long hours too, and sometimes your hours don’t match up or your vacations either and Rafael is a man on a mission when it comes to his career and will at times, prioritise that.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Rafael Barba is very vain. He has his hair and beard styled & trimmed perfectly, has complimenting colours in his outfits with ties matching pocket squares etc. and he hates it when he starts going grey (but slowly comes to love it too when you let him know how hot you find it)

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

When Rafael has let you into his life, his heart and soul, he feels very incomplete without you there and wonders how he became such a man — but he realises it is because how he loved you, you are & were his soulmate.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Rafael loves taking you dancing, and shows off his move to you on the dance floor. It helps his anxiety and insecurity by showing off, doing fancy little moves to impress you.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Rafael doesn’t like anyone who is demanding, too high maintenance or clingy, and he doesn’t like abusers or alcoholics. Also anyone who doesn’t respect his position, his Mami & Abuelita is out the door ASAP.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

Rafael can be found some nights asleep at the desk in his study, and you always wake him up as you know he needs to sleep in bed because of his back. He also loves that you have a ton of cosy blankets & quilts on the bed, it seems to help him sleep much easier.

I know it was a prompt and u said you werent gonna do anything with it (and you so should) but i love ur two posts on the Queen of Clones Elle/Amnesiac Champion Kon AU (especially Kon's knight design (like ghost tattoos?!?!? so so cool) and Elle's relationship with him). Got anymore headcanons about this au? Who are the other clones you envisioned playing the background characters? Do Kon and Tim actually cuddle in the Only One Bed scenario? Does Elle get a cool princess/queen design(s) since Kon gets a knight one? Does Tim walk into Kon's knight practice and have a "oh no he's hot" moment? Just afagshjdksll this au is so cool please tell me all about it

The thing is, whenever I say "I'm going to put X idea here for someone else to grab since I'm never going to do anything with it" I'm lying. I'm a liar. It's still lives in my brain and is taking over all rational thought. I have at least 85% of a story written in my head when I say that, I just know that I'm never going to sit down and actually write it down lol

I have SO MANY thoughts about this AU, you have no idea what you've done asking me about it haha

(and seriously if anything at all in my ramblings here is of interest to anyone have at it, everything I post should always be considered free game to use as a writing prompt haha)

Like, between Elle getting snatched by the GIW & Kon ending up in custody with the Justice League for a bit, a lot of the clones that weren't involved in the rescue(s) who are out in the wider multiverse come pouring in to check on them and there's this huge impromptu "Congrats on Escaping a Government Agency" party for the two of them.

There are so many clones just everywhere, Tim is overwhelmed by them all (and hasn't actually realized that the whole deal of the place is that everyone there is a clone yet). But he's dealing. He's sticking close to Kon (because he's never letting Kon leave his sight again, especially since he's half convinced that Elle kidnapped & brainwashed Kon into being her loyal servant for evil purposes) and getting introduced to the most diverse group of entities he's ever seen before (humans aren't the only ones who get into cloning).

And then there's an excited whoop as some kid comes flying out of a portal and launches himself at Kon, talking a thousand miles a second, just so happy Kon is back and okay and the boy is so chipper and happy and sweet that it takes Tim a second to realize holy shit is that Damian????

The kid is the Heretic, aged down and growing up again with a fresh slate after getting sent to Elle's Haunt post however he disappeared/died in DC canon (I'm a bit fuzzy on those details). Of course that information takes a bit for Tim to figure out, becuase the kid has no memories at all of being the Heretic or of Damian or Talia or Bruce or fighting his way out of a whale fully grown. As far as he's concerned he's Antonio, Paulina Sanchez' adopted son, and like sure he's somebody's clone but that really doesn't matter to him, he only comes to Elle's haunt to hang out and tag along behind Kon because he thinks Kon is the coolest. (Kon is explaining this to Tim as a bright, cheerful, normal kid version of Damian is sitting on his shoulders. Tim is losing his god damn mind).

And the Only One Bed Thing!! Okay, so like, Kon is Elle's Champion and basically her unofficial Heir. When Elle isn't around he's in charge of her Haunt and looking after all the other clones. And even when she is there he just goes full Big Brother mode on everyone. It doesn't matter if the clones that end up in the Haunt are actually older than him, he's their big brother now.

To that end, clones end up coming to Kon all the time in the middle of the night, unable to sleep because of nightmares and stuff. And Kon is the cuddliest motherfucker. He's all about platonic cuddles to help people sleep. Just about every clone that's ever spent any time at Elle's haunt has ended up curled up in a blanket fort in Kon's room getting cuddled into feeling safe and cared for.

So for Kon? Only One Bed is no issue at all.

Oh all the clones coming over for the party has taken up all the rooms and Elle is "too weak from recovering" for her Haunt to make more? Of course Red Robin can stay in his room! His bed is so comfy and there's more than enough room for both of them (and like, sure, he's kinda panicking a little because he's never cuddled with anyone he's sorta had a tiny bit of a crush on, but he cab be cool! Besides, its hard to fully commit to the crush one Red Robin when Mystery Boy is out there somewhere, oh maybe he can ask Red Robin about him! He seems to know so much about Kon he'll know who Kon is in love with back in his old life!)

Tim, on the other hand, is just fully:

Over the prospect of having to keep his shit together while sleeping in the same bed as Kon (who sleeps without a shirt, jesus fucking christ, Kon has tattoos now since when did that happen??? why is he somehow more attractive than when he disappeared??? oh god Tim is going to have a fucking heart attack) especially after Kon drops the bomb that the only thing he can remember from before is some guy that Kon was apparently totally in love with??? Like Tim is being thrown wildly between being a Bi Disaster to being totally devistated and back again.

He mostly manages to keep himself together, at least until it's actually time for bed and it turns out that Kon is a cuddler when he sleeps (Kon did warn him! "just shove me off if I end up trying to use you as a pillow it won't wake me up" he said, and Tim thought "well it can't be that bad" he was so fucking wrong) and Tim ends up wrapped up in a cocoon of muscled and tattooed Kryptonian arms with his face smushed into Kon's chest and Kon nuzzling into Tim's hair in his sleep and it's the most comfortable Tim's ever been in his life and Kon purrs in his sleep like how is that even fair??? (I love the Kyrptonian's purr headcanon so much it has to be in here lol)

By the end of the first week Tim's has slept more and better than he has in years. He's genuinely forgotten what it's like to have a normal sleep schedule. Even with all his panicking, Kon sleepily curling up around him and hugging him like a teddy bear just knocks him out. It's insane.

And Elle! I have so many thoughts about Elle in this AU!

I mentioned it in one of my other posts on this AU that Elle gives off Vibes based off her various Epitaphs that she's gained, and I think that she'd kinda push that to the max when it came to Tim for awhile when Kon first shows up with him.

Like, she takes one look at Tim and is like "ah, this is Mystery Boy my amnesiac bestie has been on about forever" while also realizing that Kon has no idea that he's just panic-kidnapped the one person he sorta remembers from his old life. Which is the oppurtunity of so much fun matchmaking chaos. And she loves Kon, she's planning on officially making him her Heir so that he becomes Prince of Clones as well as her Champion, she wants him to be happy.

But also she's protective over him, more even than a lot of the other clones that end up in her Haunt. Kon doesn't remember his old life and he was so badly injured when he ended up in Elle's haunt that Frostbite hadn't been sure he would survive. Add in the fact that Red Robin was clearly with the people that had captured Kon while he and the other clones were getting her out of the GIW facility (and that the Justice League is sort of a government agency in it's own right) and Elle isn't totally sold on Tim.

She goes out of her way to give off extra creepy vibes while around him. Making sure he understands that she's more than strong enough to destroy him if he even thinks about hurting Kon. At least in the early days of Tim being in her haunt. She does, eventually, lighten up - especially when Kon gives her the big eyes and asks her to trust him, that he knows that Red Robin is someone he believes is good and that won't ever hurt him. She's still keeps a close eye on Tim, but does chill out a little after that.

And she does have a Queen Form (and a princess form when she's doing her Crown Princess of the Infinite Realms thing). She has a couple different forms/designs depending on which Epitaph she's invoking (and of course a fun vaguely eldritch shadow form that scares the shit out of Tim haha).

Her Clone Queen design is BIG, not quite massive Eldritch Ghost King Danny big, but definitely big. Like 20-30 feet tall big, so she can pick up and carry/hold all her clone children like little babies (if any clones are from a race/species that's bigger than that her size adjusts so she's always big enough to carry them).

She has a crown made out of mirror shards that float around and move so that it's always changing shape (I've been feeling clones being called "Mirrorborn" in the Infinite Realms since there's kind of a naming convention already with "unborn" and clones could be seen as kind of like reflections in a way. Elle's official title is actually "Queen of the Mirrorborn" though sometimes is called "Mother of Mirrors" that's why Kon's sheild reflects things, since Elle made it for him out of a piece of her crown while naming him her Champion) and wears a dress that also looks like it's covered in mirrors. It's actually very soft and comfortable and it's super common for clones to climb around or curl up in her skirts and sleep in there.

Her dress does turn into armor though if she needs to fight. And while in Clone Queen mode it's actually super easy for her to duplicate herself a bunch of times.

Knight Training!

Once Elle chills out on Tim a little and is fully onboard the matchmaking train with the rest of the clones (all while absolutely none of them tell Kon that Red Robin is obviously his Mystery Boy) she has Fright Knight show up more often to train Kon specifically for the purpose of Tim walking in on shirtless Tim expertly going through sword forms and sparring with various other clones. And of course Tim and Kon have to have a sparring scene, where Tim is so distracted by Kon being so fucking attractive he ends up pinned against a wall with the flat of a sword under his chin and Kon giving him a cheeky wink and then it's on and there's a whole dramatic flirty fight scene as they make their way through half of Elle's Haunt while sword fighting.

Also! Since Elle's entire court is actually there for once, a bunch of different monarchs around the Infinite Realms decide to host a tournament, so Kon gets to do official knight stuff in his best armor. And Tim gets place of honor right next to Elle during all the jousting and fighting stuff so he gets the best view of Kon kicking ass.

Tim (still wearing his mask because even if he's pretty sure that no one here is evil or would use his secret identity against him - or even care that he has one) has been all dressed up in some gorgeous clothes fit for his status as "Companion" to a Queen's Champion/future Heir. Just something absolutely insanely georgous in the colors of his Red Robin suit, with a dramatic but entirely functionless cape and Kon's crest (not Elle's but Kon's) embroidered on it and it's Kon's turn to blue screen at seeing Tim for the first time all dressed up.

And Tim is maybe finally putting together from talking with Kon that he might be Mystery Boy that Kon remembers from before and that Kon is in love with. So just before Kon is going out to joust, Tim - taking Elle's advice that he should give Kon a favor before the tournament for good luck - and wanting it to be more meaningful than just a handkerchief or something, takes his mask of and gives it to Kon as his favor.

And Kon just loses his god damn mind because Mystery Boy and Red Robin are the same person and all he wants to do is kiss Tim stupid but Fright Knight Master of Chivalry is like "nope you gotta win this tournament and bring honor to your beloved and do this whole ridiculous song and dance about it, no kissing, get out there and smash some heads together - and keep your helmet on this time!" and just yeets a disgruntled Kon out into the field before he can do anything.

And of course with all this extra incentive - Fright is serious about that whole "prove your love through combat" thing he's not going to be allowed to even kiss Tim's hand unless he wins and is perfectly chivalous while doing it - Kon wins the Tournament and is given the flower crown he's supposed to give to the most beautiful of all the observers and of course he gives it to Tim and he doesn't care if there's a forty step courting process he's supposed to follow Fright, he's fucking kissing Tim and there's nothing you can do about it!

Literally seconds away from them finally kissing is when the Justice League kick down the door to get Tim back.

The ghosts aren't even the ones that wrecks the Justice League's shit for interuppting, it's just Tim screaming at them about being cock blocks for forty minutes while Kon screams into the void in the background.

(Kon does get his memories back eventually, and he and Tim do finally get that kiss and start dating. But at that point Kon has been named Elle's heir so Fright Knight is even more rediculous about Correct Courting Steps than before because Kon is a Prince now. Elle is just relieved that it turns out that the Justice League nuked the GIW while they were looking for Tim, because they were not okay with them or the Anti-Ecto Laws. Kon is mortified at having what is effectively his adoptive mother constantly popping in to dote on him while in the middle of fights, Elle is having a great time.)

he very much has some interesting ways to show his affection to you. why would he tell you how he feels directly when he can just show you in other ways? buying you food when he notices you’re feeling down, remembering very specific things about you, and… staring. he always stares at you when he’s feeling affectionate but has no idea how to communicate it. 

𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐘, what does he find the most beautiful about you?

anything that you’d consider a flaw. zenix is a guy with many flaws himself, so if he finds all of your “flaws” beautiful and attractive… does that mean you can also find his flaws attractive and want to be with him regardless? he hopes so. 

𝐂𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐒, how cuddly is he? how does he cuddle with you?

he’s not the cuddliest guy, but he’s not against it, either. he’s just not used to physical touch in general. he doesn’t have siblings and his mom isn’t overly affectionate, so he might be a bit averse to it just because it's foreign to him. but if you’re a cuddly person, he’ll slowly open up. for you, he guesses. he likes laying his head in the crook of your neck the most. 

𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐂, what is domestic life like with him?

this guy. he’s actually not as big of a slob as you’d expect, but he’s kind of lazy. he’ll put off his end of the chores until it has to be done(or you threaten him, as much as he squabbles over silly things he doesn’t actually want you to be mad at him). if you complain to him enough, he will whip himself into shape and try to get on top of things, he may just fall behind some weeks. 

𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍, how vulnerable with his emotions is he with you?

there’s a lot to unpack with him. generally, i’m not sure he allows him to even be vulnerable with himself. he masks a lot of stuff with annoyance or anger, without even realizing he’s doing it. i think if you point it out and talk with him (and book him a therapy appointment pls), he will become more self-aware of this and try to at least let you know how he’s feeling. 

𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐘, does he want a family with you in the future?

he most definitely never thought of himself as a family man, but if it’s something you want, he’d put some serious thought into it. he just always will have that rebellious young spirit in him, so the thought of settling down is strange to him. if he did start a family with you, he’d be the type of dad to tell his kids crazy(and very illegal) lore about himself and say “but don’t be like your dad, kiddo.”

𝐆𝐈𝐅𝐓𝐒, is he a gift giver? what kind of gifts does he give to you?

he finds gift-giving one of the easier love languages for him. he doesn’t have to talk or get emotional, but he can still find a way to express his love for you by getting you things. he’ll never let you pay for anything ever if he’s with you, and will get mad if you pay when he’s not looking.

𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐒, what is hugging him like?

at the beginning of the relationship, it’s really stiff and awkward, but he’s trying his best for you! he hasn’t hugged many people in his life, in fact, he could probably count how many he’s hugged on one hand(he’s probably shouted at more people than he’s hugged). when he gets comfortable with the concept of…romantic affection(yuck!/j)…his hugs are very nice.

𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒, what is he insecure about in your relationship?

you know, when it comes to romance, zenix is actually… really shy and flustered about it. he was always the friend that people said “i can never see you in a serious relationship” to, and it really sticks with him. he knows he’s not the best candidate for a boyfriend(in his opinion, not yours), and sometimes can get himself in a funk about it.

𝐉𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐘, how jealous does he get?

he has anger issues, and anger and jealousy are two emotions that are very close in nature. the first time he feels jealous he thinks he’s just annoyed with the guy’s face or something—until he realizes that guy is awfully close to you and smiling a little too much and oh no now zenix is threatening him. he doesn’t realize that he was jealous until you both stare at each other like :| what was that.

he’s not the softest with his kisses, and definitely not experienced. the first few times teeth will clash and it will be aggressive, but he learns how to pace and control himself when he kisses you. he was just very nervous.

he has his moments where he can fluster you, but he’s just so easy to rile up. you can fluster him with just a few words or a soft touch. he’s not used to being treated lovingly and gently. he may be able to get you a few times when he gathers the ability to be gentle back. he wants to be gentle back. 

𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄, does he use any pet names for you?

he usually never calls you by a cute pet name. he either calls you a shortened nickname for your regular name (if that’s possible), or he throws lighthearted insults your way. if you’re shorter than him he loves calling you some sort of nickname that goes off of that, sometimes he’ll just call you dumb or dummy. he always says it in a lighter tone than usual, though, so that you don’t take it personally or actually think he’s being mean.

𝐎𝐁𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐒, what are some issues you have in your relationship? how does he handle it?

sometimes he has troubles with expressing himself properly, and other times he might accidentally take something the wrong way. because of how immature and reckless he was in high school, on top of a lack of discipline, it took a long time for him to develop the emotional maturity he needed. with your help, he really does try to tackle this problem and to grow as a person. 

𝐏𝐃𝐀, how does he express his love in public?

he’s not huge on pda, but if you’d like to hook your arm through his, or hold his hand, or hang onto him in some other way he won’t push you away. he probably doesn’t ever instigate it(especially at the beginning of the relationship). later on, when he gets more comfortable he’ll be more open and less stiff about it

𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄, how do you spend your time together?

he has a lot of sudden whims, so if you’re a go-with-the-flow type of person who likes to be dragged around on side quests, you’re in for a treat. he could randomly want a specific order from a specific restaurant or want to break into an abandoned building to see if his spray paint job is still there. you never know—and he honestly doesn’t either until it’s happening. 

𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆, what are his plans for the future?

the thought of commitment kind of scares him, but he also really craves it. i think it would take him time, but not because he’s not “committed to you”. he definitely is, he just has to grow and be ready for the official label and change. 

𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐒, how open is he? does he keep anything from you?

like i said before he is very closed off to people, but once he’s opened up to you he’ll verryyy slowllyyy let you know what he really likes and feels. he’s actually very shy about his true interests, and gets embarrassed about the silly lighthearted stuff like how he actually likes the color pink and has a very complex starbucks order. 

𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄, how long did it take for you two to get together?

pretty long. it takes a long time for him to open up and trust someone to be his friend, so if you’re the same way it’s gonna be a couple years of torment. does he like you? or does he stare at you like that because he wants to fight you. just make out already. 

𝐔𝐏𝐒𝐄𝐓, what makes him upset?

um, a lot of things /hj. on a real note, if we’re talking about what makes him really upset, is if you don’t take his emotions seriously. he is a very dramatic and overly expressive person, so sometimes it is hard to know if he’s serious about something or just being stupid. it takes some maturity, communication, and learning each other’s cues, but you two will be alright. 

𝐕𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐘, does he do anything to spice up your relationship?

he likes taking you to really cool secluded spots for dates that he used to go to with the shadow knight gang. he doesn’t say that he’s taking you to a “gang hang out spot”, but you notice the logo sprayed somewhere inconspicuously everywhere he takes you.

𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒, how good is he at communicating?

he is absolutely horrid at it. it depends when you start dating him, but the older he gets the better he is at it. he is trying, though, and you’re the main motivator. 

𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀, something random 

if you have a hobby or do something that’s very feminine, he likes to sit and stare and watch you—out of curiosity and fascination. when you two are getting ready to go out and you’re doing his makeup, he likes to watch your routine. sometimes he zones out, and you catch a certain soft look in his eyes as he looks at you. 

𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, what are they like when you’re gone?

he is so closed off to opening himself up to people that when he does open up he gets super attached. if you’re in a relationship with him, it’s tenfold. he doesn’t outright say it, but if you’re apart from him for a while he makes a lot of phone calls just to not really say much at all. 

𝐙𝐙𝐙..., how do you two sleep? when you’re apart?

ugh. he is violent when he’s awake and he’s violent when he’s asleep. when he first falls asleep and he does that little flinch thing, he flinches. like sometimes he accidentally will punch himself or you and wake himself back up like “WHAT?!”. man idk you tell me. in his sleep he’ll wake you up sometimes by suddenly throwing an arm over you or kicking your legs with his. he really knows no peace. If you complain to him about this a lot, he actually subconsciously begins to think about it in his sleep and won’t do it as much. whether you two are sleeping together or apart, his behavior is still the same, he’ll just roll of the bed instead of on top of you.

There was Only One Bed for any OT3?

"Why did I agree to this again?" Alex asked as Reggie's truck pulled into the campground.

"Because you love us?" Willie replied.

"Because you picked paint ball last time, and bruised me so hard that Tia thought I got into a fight," Reggie added. "So you owe me, and it was my turn to pick."

"But camping?" Alex whined.

"It's hardly camping," Willie retorted. "We're in a cabin, with running water and power, not in a tent on the ground."

"I know you're like, allergic to the great wide wilderness, but suck it up and enjoy being off the grid for a hot second," Reggie said, opening up the door to the cabin.

Alex grumbled but entered the space, pleasantly surprised to see a clean little space, with a real fireplace, a stocked bookshelf, a pile of board games, and a modern looking kitchen. "Okay, fine, I can live with this for a few days."

"Cool, I'm gonna go get some firewood," Reggie said. "Wils, you wanna start on food? Lexie, you go unpack."

Willie gave a salute and Alex dragged the bags back, opening one door to find a fairly nice bathroom-thank goodness for that, because he drew the line at peeing outside. But there was only one other door, and sure enough when he opened it, there lay only one (admittedly huge) bed.

"Just. Great."

Look, being in a band, Alex was used to sharing a bunk. Or the back of a van, or a few blankets on the floor of a club, if it came to it. So he knew beggars couldn't be choosers. But he also tried to avoid sharing a bed with Reggie and Willie, two of the cuddliest motherfuckers there were who also happened to be the subjects of his nighttime fantasies.

It wasn't his fault his friends were hot okay?

Alex glanced back to the living room and wondered how much the couch would murder his back, and sighed before resigning himself to a few uncomfortable nights, and started putting away their stuff.

He came back out to the main room, but instead of finding Willie making food, he was standing looking out the window, completely enraptured. And no wonder, since when Alex went to see what was so fascinating, he got an eyeful of Reggie, chopping wood.

In his black tank, flannel tied around his waist, looking like the yummiest lumberjack there was.

"Fuck me," Alex breathed out.

"Oh I wish he would," Willie sighed, then snickered. "Come on, we got enough eye candy, let's make something to eat."

They made a simple salad and some sandwiches, but Willie also pulled out a coconut cream pie for dessert-Alex's favourite. Reggie soon came in and started the fire going, the three of them eating in front of it before starting a rambunctious game of Scrabble.

"Quilty isn't a word!" Reggie protested as Willie earned another triple word score.

"Sure it is," Willie replied.

"Use it in a sentence then," Alex retorted.

"I'm feeling positively quilty," Willie said, sticking his tongue out. "Get a dictionary if you want."

"Eh, I'm too lazy for that," Reggie said around a yawn. He looked to the dwindling embers of the fire. "Bedtime?"

They all agreed, getting ready, but Alex stood in the doorway, rubbing his socked foot into the floor as he watched Reggie and Willie take the bed. "I can stay on the couch if you two want..."

"Nonsense Lexi, plenty of room, come on," Reggie urged, patting the open space next to him.

Alex cautiously slipped into the bed, gulping as Reggie snuggled into his side, and Willie spooned his other side, the two of them drifting off almost instantly.

Alex was sure he wasn't going to sleep, too wound up by being surrounded by his crushes, but eventually their soft breathing lulled him into slumber.

It ended up being a pretty good night's sleep, thankfully without embarrassing incidents popping up in the night.

But Alex swore he was going to kill whichever one of them left the window open a crack when he discovered the giant spider crawling across the bathroom floor when he went to brush his teeth.

"Hey at least it wasn't a possum or something," Willie rationalized.

"Yeah, then you two would be trying to make it your pet," Alex grumbled as Reggie swept the spider back outside.

"We would... totally do that yeah," Reggie admitted.

Alex sighed. "And this is the real reason I came, so you two don't end up with rabies."

"I mean that's not the main reason," Willie replied. "But it was a contributing factor."

"What was the main reason then?" Alex asked, watching as the other two exchanged glances.

The answer involved the bed, the three of them, and an afternoon that was a lot more exciting then a game of Scrabble. But in the end, Alex felt positively quilty.

And he definitely had a better appreciation of camping-but he was making sure the window was closed before they went to bed that night, lest a possum actually get in.

Random-Ass and Super Rare Personal Post

There’s no big reason for this. I/We’ve had several cats over the years, but I don’t know how much longer we’ll have our current count, and I wanted to commemorate them while they’re all here. Basically pet loss fucking sucks, and I’m feeling sappy. Also this is more for future-me than anything else, so sorry if this gets a little verbose.

The newest addition, Tinker. 1-2 years old.

I literally rescued him from a tree this past October but he officially became a part of our family in February. He’s long af, is very high energy, and likes to hop to places he doesn’t belong and open doors he shouldn’t.

This is Leo, 2-3 years old.

He’s the one that’s technically “my” cat. He’s really feisty and playful, and he doesn’t like to be held or carried. But he loves attention, especially lap time; and he likes it when I cup my hand under his head while he sleeps. He also loves french fries, and dangling string toys.

This is Barney, aka Barnabas. 7 years old, and no, he and Leo aren’t related, shockingly.

He’s the snuggliest, cuddliest, sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. As long as you’re holding him he’s tolerant of most any position you put him in. He has a penchant for stealing seats and trying to pilfer sips of tea, he’s very inquisitive, and is prone to fits of jealousy. He stands up and stretches tall for pets, particularly when you’re making coffee, and he has a really cute, almost effeminate meow. Also, he likes kpop, and his bias is Baekhyun. UN Village is his favorite. 😂

This is Abby, 17 years old.

I found her and her three siblings in an outbuilding in 2005, as newborn kittens. But we only wound up keeping her and one of her sisters. She is literally the hissiest cat we’ve ever had; she doesn’t like strangers, and she doesn’t like being approached too quickly. But she is insanely patient when it comes to getting pets; she’ll sit and stare at you for almost a half hour if she thinks she’ll get love. She’s also our Halloween kitty, because she has the ideal spooky posture. And if you so much as stroke her back she’ll lift up into the touch. Back in the day she would flop over for belly rubs, and even now if you pick her up she’ll arch her back and snuggle into your face so you can scratch her tummy. Her face is always curious, and she has a sweet, chirping meow. So despite her angry reputation she’s actually a big sweetie pie. Plus she’s able to frighten dogs literally 10x her size.

Finally, this is Lil’ Bit, also 17, and Abby’s sister; the only siblings we’ve ever had.

Lil Bit is why we took the two girls in, because an animal attacked her and left a nasty open wound on her neck that got infected. She needed peroxide rinses for weeks. The scar is still noticeable there now, and she loves to be scratched in that spot. She’s the loner queen of the lot. She has one room that she resides in, as you can guess by the difference in her picture, and only rarely does she venture out to say hi to people. Back in the day she would almost never meow or make any sound, except for a really cool purr she has that sounds like a popcorn maker. But after our cat Boomer died she picked up his habit of yowling into the night when she’s upset. She’s also one of the few cats we’ve had that expresses love with kisses and nips. And if she sticks around for pets, or deigns to grant you lap time, consider yourself one of the chosen few.

That’s it. Maybe someday I’ll do a big ol’ pet master list, but this will do for now. ❤️

What a great question! Generally Jack spends his time watching at home. The local cinema is fun for an event, but with Russell on his lap and you making popcorn in the kitchen, he can't find much use to going out.

I had to mull on this for a little bit because I agree, westerns may be...a tad triggering for our boy:

Some of them might hold nostalgia for him, but there are probably times where it feels more like a memory than a story, and if he's not ready for that dissonance he might struggle with premises that are too close to the Old Jack.

So let's go through some other genres!

Comedies: Unabashedly loves the old Blue Collar Comedy boys, no matter how much it makes you groan. Was a little too invested in The Proposal. Loved Kevin Kline in Dave. 90's comedies all the way.

Sci-Fi: Does not care for anything about robots or androids. To be fair, it feels a little close to home for you too. Space movies are fun! He loved Interstellar (and cried a bit too)

Fantasy: Lord of the Rings. Hands down. Will put them on anytime there's nothing better on.

Horror: Pretends to be fine with them, but is gripping the back of the couch and jumping at every scare, no matter how obvious. Laughs it off if you comment. Holds you a little tighter on the couch and may try to "distract" you from it instead.

Romance: HUGE fan of the romance genre, especially anything aimed for an older audience. Not so much into the teen movies, more like Under the Tuscan Sun, The Exotic Marigold Hotel, Last Chance Harvey. A mature love appeals to him, and you find him to be cuddliest when you put one on.

Miscellaneous likes:

Any Agatha Christie movie/series (wants to solve the murder first)

Film noir (will quote relentlessly)

Heist movies (likes the puzzle of figuring out how they did it)

Dislikes:

Artsy films (doesn't get them)

So, five things that make me happy!

Obviously my kitties (I have so many of them lmao), writing, playing my silly games such as Minecraft, reading it's pretty dang fun too, and finally listening to music!!

I like to stack these sometimes lol, since I can listen to music while I play games or read or write. My cats are quite silly, I think. One of them is very intelligent and she will lead you to where she wants to go or somewhere that has what she wants. The other indoor one is... Less smart but just as goofy. He likes to stick his paw in the water bowl and drink from that. I have three outside cats, one who is afraid of everyone unless they have food, one who is just a little baby (she had babies last year and has been so smol since bc we weren't able to catch her before to fix her), and the last one who is the cuddliest nicest dude on the whole planet! He is unbothered by everyone.

I've been thinking about how they would introduce themselves to each other's guardians. Cirrus' Gramdma (Breeze or Ms. Seeotoo) is hard of hearing and a bit blind, but she's also the sweetest cuddliest gentle giant you could ever meet.

Kindlin would probably be a little nervous to meet her, not knowing what exactly to expect. She's actually very delighted though when she meets Breeze

How were you thinking they meet?

When Cirrus brought her over to her house she didn't know her grandma was home. So when she leaves Kin to go get something, big cloud granny floats in and surprises Kindlin. An Breeze not being able to see thinks it's Cirrus. Giving her a big hug and smooch on the forehead. Once Cirrus comes back to the room she explains everything, but Breeze just picks Kin back up again saying "So you're the reason my Cirrus has been coming home so much happier!" Cirrus tries to single her to stop sharing too much personal stuff, but she still can't see or hear well. XD

Kindlin is freaked out for half a second before she just lets herself be hugged. She actually really doesn't mind the hugs and kisses and doting. The whole time she's trying to tell her that she's not Cirrus though and is just giggling as this old cloud lady seems to not hear her

After all the hugs Kindlin's flames are all messed up but she doesn't care lol. She just whispers to Cirrus "this is OUR Gramma now" With a giggle

Poor Cirrus would be too embarrassed she'd keep her face hidden in her hands.

Kindlin when Breeze leaves the room : so when can I come over again?

⭐️ cancer risings aren’t always the most cuddliest and nicest and people centered. They actually might not like children sometimes and they can be selfish. I’m a cancer rising and the thought of children makes me like 🤨 they are also often the first in the families to do something (fame, not having kids, having their own businesses etc.)

⭐️Aries suns are hot. there I said it. Omg. they will keep you up until 8 am. I had this Aries friend and she wouldn’t let me sleep until I stayed up with her til then 😭 very fun and are sweethearts

It was just like me the time he'd had the Skulkin kidnap Nya, except this time it'd been done to him."

Kai smirked and mussed up Lloyd's hair. "Plus I may or may not have been worried about you, too, so the Fangblade would've been a hollow victory anyway."

"Hah, hey-!" Lloyd spluttered.

"I just…" Kai went on, "…after seeing you and your dad together, I don't think it could be me. But even if it is, I promise you, Lloyd, we'll do everything in our power to find a way out of this dumb destiny thing and keep Garmadon around for you."

Lloyd took a shaky breath. "R…really?"

"Really," Kai said. "In fact, I'll do you one better. Whoever the Green Ninja is, he'll work the hardest out of all of us for it. I personally guarantee it."

Kai caught a glimpse of Wu's hat as he shifted just out in the hall. Wu must really be out of it if Kai just caught him eavesdropping.

"And no matter who it is, we'll have his back all the way, and we'll have your back all the way," Kai continued. "Your dad's surprisingly harmless when he's not being compelled to do great evil, y'know. Even if that harmless evildoing does get on my last nerve."

Lloyd managed a wobbly grin at that. "Yeah, heh, I know."

"Aw, don't get all mushy on me!" Kai complained with a laugh. He still lifted his arm in time for Lloyd to slam into his side and hold on for all he was worth.

Kai pretended not to notice the growing damp spots in his gi, instead silently rubbing little circles in Lloyd's back the same way he would for Nya.

The events of the day seemed to catch up to Lloyd as he Definitely Didn't Cry, Kai Would Back Him Up On That, and eventually he blinked blearily up at Kai. "You gonna make me go t' bed?"

"I mean, not if you don't wanna," Kai said. "You oughta know I stick it to The Man by now, you little gremlin. Bedtimes, shmedtimes. Live by your own rules."

And then he made Kai's heart swell and break a little at the same time.

"Kai, you know we can't guarantee that we'll find a way," scolded Cole weakly.

"That's why I didn't," Kai countered. "I said we'd try. That much, I know we can do."

Nya chuckled sadly. "We'll probably have to give him self-defense lessons if we're planning to upend his father's fate."

Kai thought about it for a second. Since he knew intuitively what Lloyd's destiny was meant to be, he knew fighting skills were probably in the kid's future anyway.

"Yeah, probably," he said out loud.

"We can all teach him," said Zane.

"Never pegged myself as a teacher, but this would be worth it," agreed Jay.

"It'll be tough," Cole warned. "We'll all need to get better at taking responsibility. Remember, Lloyd doesn't have an element."

Kai pointedly did not look in the direction he'd seen Wu's hat in.

"If we're doing this, we have to be able to keep him safe, then to teach him to keep himself safe, even with how strong our enemies tend to be," continued Cole.

Kai nodded firmly. "And we will."

They had to.

Lloyd grumbled in his sleep and weakly smacked in the general direction of Kai's face. "…sh'ddup."

"You got it, tiny," Kai said without a moment's hesitation.

Wu searched Kai's eyes for something.

Kai just held his gaze with a firm almost-glare. "I figured it out in the volcano, Sensei. All my training to be the best ninja was never to become the Green Ninja. It was to protect him. If I have to protect him from whatever bull they're writing in the Cloud Kingdom, then fine. If I have to protect him from his own destiny, fine! I'm not letting the only one on this dang boat who can relate to Jay on Father's Day just lose that."

Lloyd chose that moment to sit bolt upright, his elbow jamming directly into Kai's sternum, and tell Kai with the utmost urgency, "Hurry, Kai, we gotta catch up to Fritz Donnegan and his crew! They're gonna leave for the Golden Planet Of Light without us!"

Kai wheezed and fought to get his breath back, then took a look at Lloyd's face.

His eyes were barely even open.

Kai smirked before he even realized it. "Well, you go tell Fritz I just gotta finish up here, alright, little man? I'll be right behind you."

Lloyd "looked" over his shoulder, then back at Kai, his eyebrows scrunching up worriedly.

"Promise. Won't be long," Kai said, guiding him back down.

After a long moment, Lloyd nodded. "…kay." He then burrowed back into Kai's side as if he'd never sat up at all.

Whatever Wu was looking for, he seemed to find it as he watched them, and he sighed in resignation. "Very well. I hope you have a plan for when the truth inevitably comes out?"

"I do my best work when I'm winging it," scoffed Kai. He glanced down at the sleeping Lloyd for a moment. "Besides, he's nine. It'd be worth anything to hold this off even a little longer."

"…good night, Kai."

Wu leapt up into the rafters, likely heading to his room to meditate.

Kai shifted in place with a sigh, tossed the blanket over himself and Lloyd, and settled in for the night.

(Unbeknownst to any of them, Nya stood just a few feet past the door, frozen in place with horrified eyes, her hands pressed over her mouth, and a shiver running up her spine.)

so when he does cuddle you, its just that more special

he only does in private, absolutely no pda

he makes sure that every one is las Nevadas has a task to do and they will not be interrupting you two

he defiantly is the type of person to sit down, put some entertainment on, and keep his arm around you

when he holds you, he holds you close

there is no escaping him

whenever you try to get him to let up a little bit he whispers "where are you trying to go? you're stuck here with me"

and honestly, you can't complain, it is a nice place to be

if he feels like kissing you, he is kissing you on your head
