Color Me Surprised.
Human vision is hacks upon hacks upon hacks. Forget about how our brains just make wild guesses about things we see, or how there are whole parts of your vision that your brain can't see and just does "content aware fill" on it, or how your peripheral vision isn't nearly as good as you think it is.
Our brains just make up colors because we don't like to see two colors next to each other.
Magenta doesn't exist.
****
“Ugh, what is going on?” The Gren moved to cover their eyes as they staggered back, their reverse articulated legs unsteady.
“What? What is it? What’s wrong Peni’tam?” Jalisa stared at her friend as they moved back, their 2 pairs of eyes squeezed tightly shut.
“That… that thing. It hurts to look at!“ Peni’tam finall turned away and with their back to it, opened their eyes. They looked down at Jalisa. “It doesn’t hurt for you to look at? Is it some kind of human weapon?”
Jalisa peered around Pani’tam. Behind her, on the landing platform was a starship. It was small as starships go, likely only holding 4 or 5 people. With a Flip drive, you didn’t really need a large spacecraft for anything. Most destinations were no more than two or three days away, but humans tended to build large anyway. No reason not to when space is nearly limitless. Interdiction ship probably. Military, or at least formerly military.
It was small and sleek, with very few protrusions. Currently sitting on spindly landing legs, it almost looked like an insect.
It was also bright magenta.
“It’s just a ship Peni’tam. The color is a little unusual, but humans tend to paint their ships wild colors anyway. It’s got a bit of a dazzle camo pattern, made up in two or three shades of magenta.”
“Magenta? What’s that?” Now that Peni’tam wasn’t facing the ship they were much more steady on their feet.
“It’s just a color. Like, a really bright pinky purple?” Jalisa looked down at her pad. “Here, let me see if it’s emitting something.” She touched a few points and ran a scan. “Pani’tam, it’s cold. Even the reactor is off. It must be here for a refit.”
Pani’tam turned again and immediately winced. “Ow! No, something is up. That ship hurts to look at. I don’t mean like figuratively, I mean, literally it is painful. It is doing something.”
“Well, let’s step away from it then. We can find another way to the cafe. I just wanted to pass by the pads because I like to look at the ships.” Jalisa said, wistfully.
They went to the cafe by circling around the station past the gymnasium. Inside, Jalisa saw people running and lifting weights that seemed almost comically tiny until she looked over at the sign over the entrance.
OPERATING AT THREE GEE TODAY. EXERCISE CAUTIOUSLY.
She rolled her eyes. Of course the gym nuts would find a way to use the gravity generators to make the workouts more intense.
At the cafe, Jalisa and Peni’tam got their drinks and sat down at a wide, long table. “I just can’t believe that color doesn’t hurt you.” Pani’tam took a sip of their tea. “Your vision must be completely different than ours.”
Another human at the table heard their conversation and turned. “Oh, you saw the Variegated Elegy?”
“The little magenta ship? Yeah, Peni’tam here-“ Jalisa gestured at her friend “-got a massive headache when she tried to look at it.”
The human nodded. “I’m not surprised. It’s an old interdiction ship, originally designed to strike deep into Gren territory during the war. Now that the war is over, it’s here to be refitted into a yacht, and probably repainted too.”
“Oh really? That’s too bad. The magenta dazzle camo is so interesting.” Jalisa sipped her coffee and looked at the human. She was tall, with close cropped hair on one side, and the rest was swept up almost into a dark asymmetric pompadour. She was wearing a tailored uniform without any indicators of rank and just two silver pips on her left breast. She had a scar along her right cheek as well. She looked very rakish, and Jalisa had to look away quickly.
The human laughed. “It’s pretty neat isn’t it? Unfortunately, the Confederation races can’t process magenta. For some it just looks like a very odd blue, others see a very odd red. A few races like the Gren with very accurate color reproduction get headaches and it causes them pain. The color was chosen on purpose for that particular ship.”
“A color… hurts? Also I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name.”
The woman winks. “I didn’t throw it. You can call me Tyler.”
Jalisa blushes just a bit. “Hi Tyler, I’m Jalisa.”
Tyler nods. “Works over in HVAC with Pam and Lan’urian? Nice to meetcha.”
How did she know that? Tyler continues. “Anyway. Yeah, for the Gren, when they see magenta they try and process it, but since the wavelength for blue will never be with the wavelength for red, the color can’t really exist.”
“But we see it?” Her coffee forgotten, Jalisa leans forward.
Tyler laughs. “That’s because our eyes are hacks upon hacks upon hacks. Half the things we ‘see’ aren’t real. Our brains just invent magenta when we put red and blue next to each other. We learned early in the war about Gren vision processing and were able to use it to our advantage. Now that the war’s over, we’re retiring the pain job. Gotta be good members of the Confederation after all.” Tyler rips off a sharp - though sarcastic - salute.
“So, the color of the ship itself is a weapon?” Peni’tam said, with a note of amazement in their voice.
“Yup! Pretty neat right? A weapon with no power and no ammunition and still causes nearly incapacitating pain if a Gren doesn’t look away.”
Jalisa looks at Tyler more closely. She seems so effortlessly confident. “How do you know so much about this, Tyler?”
Tyler shrugs. “Oh, it’s my ship. In the war I was an Intelligence Collection Agent and I ran the Variegated with a small tight crew.”
Jalisa nearly chokes on her tea. “You’re a spy?”
“Was a spy. War’s over, so we don’t need spy’s anymore, right?” Tyler winked again. Jalisa wasn’t sure if Peni’tam caught the gesture or knew what it meant. A wink was very situational and could mean lots of things. Tyler tossed back the rest of her coffee. “Anyway, I’m here for a few more weeks while the refit takes place.” She stands and looks down at Jalisa. “I’m free tonight. Call me, we’ll get dinner.” And without another word, she turns and walks out of the cafe.
After she left, Peni’tam stares at Jalisa. “You aren’t going to go to dinner with her are you?”
“And why not, Peni’tam?”
“She’s a spy! She spied on us during the war!” Peni’tam’s grey fur ripples and her mouthparts clack with stress.
“The war is over Peni’tam. Everyone on both sides fought it. I’m sure you had plenty of your own spies.”
Peni’tam shakes their head. The fur whooshes back and forth while they do it. “She’s so… cocky and self-assured. She practically made your date invitation a command.”
Jalisa blushed again. “I know. It was pretty cool.”

Duty At The Expense Of Desire
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x reader
Content: mild cursing, lots of arguing between reader and Law, reader is nervous to be in a relationship, platonic luffy and reader <3, reader loves the strawhats a lot :)
Word Count: 2.2k
A/N: i spent so long just rereading this, i don’t know why but it feels kind of hard to understand? so i might revise it again in the future idk yet! i hope you enjoy reading, again this is very very loosely based on kate and anthony’s season in bridgerton! it was originally going to be 2 parts, but it’s looking like a full on series now… lmk if you want to be tagged in future parts! enjoy! <3
Part 2
Now that your feelings for Law have been revealed- not only to him but to yourself- you find the tension between the two of you is undeniably different from before.
What were once looks of contempt now harbor some quiet desire. Chances of accidentally brushing shoulders when you pass by each other are avoided altogether, for fear of fueling a fire neither of you know how to deal with. And any crass or biting quips are cut out of your minimal interactions completely, as you both now feel they come off as flirtatious rather than standoffish.
A few days have gone by since you confronted Law and he admitted his true feelings for you, all of which have been spent at sea. Nami says there won’t be an island to dock at for at least another three days, given how the weather is slowing the ship, so your crew’s only source of entertainment is each other.
“Y/n,” she asks while the two of you along with Robin relax on the deck, “what happened between you and Traffy the other day?”
Your breath hitches and you cough unnecessarily, already giving away your nervousness to the two very observant women. “Uh, not much.”
“Well, what did you two talk about? You didn’t come back to the table after, so I thought you must have stayed together…” Robin smiles softly, baiting you to reveal more.
“What? No, no, oh my god no… We just…”
Nami urges you on with a sing-song voice; “You just?”
“We… talked.”
“Talked about what?”
“I don’t know. Our issues with each other.”
“And you resolved them?”
“Come on, y/n, tell us what happened!”
“Nothing happened.”
You stand up then, too annoyed to continue talking to your friends. It’s not even their fault really; you would want to know what had gone on too, if the roles were reversed. Maybe you’re just annoyed with yourself for not being able to face your own feelings.
~
With no particular destination in mind, you find yourself in the Thousand Sunny’s library. When you open the door, you see Law browsing the selection of books your crew has accumulated throughout your travels. You shouldn’t be surprised to see him, but you are.
That’s what it must be; what other reason could there be for the sudden raving of your heart and your breath hitching? Any feelings you ever had for him were buried deep inside after last night; too deep to allow yourself to feel them to the extent you were currently, and so these must all be signs of surprise.
You steel yourself and walk in, letting the door close behind you. Law looks up to find out who the person intruding on his studying is, but his eyes are blown wide when he makes eye contact with you. Neither of you speaks as you turn away and cross the room in quick strides to another section of the library.
“Stupid Law,” you think as you try to calm your mind- an impossible task when he’s standing anywhere in the same room. “Stupid weather,” preventing you from getting to an island so you can get some damn space from him. “Stupid library, ” because of its shelves that make it all too easy and tempting to peak through and catch a glimpse of him.
Actually, maybe that’s not too risky of an idea. Cautiously, you bend down slightly and pretend to scan the titles on the shelf. You allow your eyes to slowly wander off the books until you can see Law by peering upwards. But low and behold, he’s staring right back at you.
You gasp and stand up straight, silently cursing your silly plan.
“Y/n.” He walks over to you, 2 books tucked under his arm. “l was under the impression you wanted me to keep your distance from me.”
“I do.”
“I find that hard to believe with the way you’ve been acting around me.”
“It’s just weird. You made me admit that I had feelings for you, and now things are weird.”
“I made you? You didn’t have to say anything, you could’ve rejected me and we both would’ve moved on.”
“I did reject you.”
“By telling me you feel the same? That’s some rejection.”
“You shouldn’t have said anything in the first place.”
“I had to, you told me that you thought I hated you.”
“But I didn’t make you say that you have feelings for me, and so now you’ve made it impossible to ignore.”
“Believe me, I tried to ignore it. To ignore you. It was pointless.”
“Then you weren’t trying hard enough. I could’ve gone a lifetime without bringing up the way I feel for you if it means my crew will be able to continue this alliance for our goals.”
“Don’t give me that shit, your captain made this alliance because he thinks we’re friends. You seriously think he had a goal in mind while doing so?”
With a roll of your eyes, you cross your arms over your chest. “Maybe not, but Luffy is the captain- I trust him, and so I follow him in any endeavor he believes in.”
“Well, I’m the captain of my own crew, and I believe that whatever we have going on is a little more than ally-ship.”
“Regardless of whatever is going on between us, is it really a smart idea to complicate such an important alliance?”
“…No. I suppose it’s not.”
“Then drop it-” You turn, ready to forget about this conversation and continue hiding your feelings away when he grabs your wrist.
“But they wouldn’t care, y/n, and you know that. Your crew thrives on-” he gestures vaguely with his free hand, “-friendship and rainbows and joy.”
Shaking off a smile, you bite back. “That might be true, but you know what’s even more important to my crew? Protecting each other. They wouldn’t like me being with you; even if we are temporary allies, you’re a Captain of another crew and one of the Supernovas. So don’t tell me what they would and wouldn’t be ok with.”
Law seems to think for a second before he releases your wrist. “Hmph.”
Finally, you take your leave to find somewhere- with no Law and no watchful friends- to just think.
~
You settle on the bow of the ship. If you had an ability like Luffy’s or any guarantee that you wouldn’t slip right off and into the sea, you would like to sit on the masthead of the Sunny. A clear, unobstructed view of the world ahead, and the breeze to keep the hair out your eyes could be so peaceful. But, this has some sort of charm to it as well; you do seem to love a challenge (even if it’s one as simple as having to lean over the railing of a ship to see the horizon).
With a cheerful call, the man you had just been thinking of joins you on the railing by the ship’s bow. Luffy speaks animatedly of his plans for all sorts of things, but during a lull in conversation, he asks you something unexpected.
“Do you love him?”
“What?”
“Traffy! Do you love him?”
“I…”
“You’ve said how much you hate him, but that just means your feelings for him are strong. So you love him, right?”
You’ve never been more bothered to hear Luffy say something so uncharacteristically observant.
“I love you guys.”
He hums. “But that doesn’t mean you can’t love other people, too.”
“…I won’t ever leave this crew, Luffy.”
“Of course you won’t!” He latches onto you in an iron-grip hug, and you smile ever so slightly. “But, y/n.”
“Yeah?”
He releases you and instead grabs your shoulders to talk to you face to face. His face seems especially serious- the same way it does when he makes a bold declaration of his dreams or beliefs. “If you love someone, you tell them. You don’t hide it, because you never know when they could be gone.”
Finally, your barely-there smile opens into a full grin. “When did you get to be so wise?”
Luffy shrugs. “Shanks told me that once, I just felt it made sense for you too.”
You and your captain stay there a while longer, giggling over this and that until the sun starts to set on the horizon.
“I'm gonna go sit on Sunny- you wanna come with me?”
Though you’d been fantasizing over what it would feel like up there just a few minutes ago, you shake your head. “No thanks. But, uh, Luffy?”
“Yeah?”
“Could you… not tell anyone about what we talked about?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, for sure!”
You would come to regret being so vague with your captain, even if he does occasionally display astonishing emotional intelligence.
~
At dinner- where there’s always something going on- you make an effort to sit far from Law. Your attempt is in vain, however, as he ends up right across from you. Luffy sits to your left, and while he takes a small break from stuffing his mouth, he nudges you with his elbow.
Your eyes meet your captain’s as he winks at you, then looks over at Law, and back to you. You can practically see the gears turning in his head as he had some sort of… plan in the works. With a wide grin, he asks, “Soooo Y/n, when are you and Traffy going to get married?”
A moment of silence passes before laughter erupts around the table from everyone except you and “Traffy.” The latter covers his face with one hand and pinches the bridge of his nose while you look simply horrified.
What had happened to not speaking of your earlier conversation? Admittedly, you had spoken of several subjects after your discussion of your feelings for Law… and knowing Luffy, he could have mistaken your vow of silence to be for any one of those subjects.
Since you’re sure your captain didn’t mean to embarrass you with his straightforward view of relationships, you just shake your head and give a muttered response. “We- we’re not, um, going to….”
Law, on the other hand, appears too bothered to stick around and listen to any more jokes. He stands abruptly and disappears in a flash of blue light.
You stick around long enough to finish your plate, then thank Sanji and leave quietly. Some unknown force draws you to Law, when you see him in Nami’s little grove of orange trees. Cautiously, you approach him.
“…Law? I- I’m sorry about that. I don’t know why Luffy said that.”
“It was embarrassing.”
“Okay, Law, they were all just joking. And I can’t even really blame them, because this entire situation is pretty fucking ridiculous.”
“No, y/n, it’s embarrassing that everybody knows how I feel and that you feel the same, and they’re all happy with the idea of us together, but you still don’t want to be with me.”
“It’s not personal, you know that.”
“How can it not be personal?”
“Everything I do is for my crew. I have a duty to them, and not even you or my own feelings will get in the way of that.”
“Do you seriously still believe that they would care if we were together?”
You purse your lips.
“I took your word for it at first, because you know your own crew better than I do, but clearly they have very little regard for what we do. Now I am inclined to believe that you made it up when you said they wouldn’t like us being… being something. And as foolish as I feel after believing that ridiculous excuse, I still want you, y/n. Tell me you want me too.”
“How much?” You ask with a fierce look.
“How much what?”
“How much do you want me, Law? You keep talking about your feelings for me, but you haven’t even said what they are.”
Again, you seem to find any way to continue arguing with the man before you as a means of releasing pent-up feelings. Just kissing him might be easier, but also a whole lot more terrifying and uncertain.
“Desire, attraction, whatever you want to call it-“
“Well, I’m not going to put everything on the line for someone who is attracted to me.”
“It’s more than that, you know that-“
“You know what I think?”
“…What?”
“I think that you can’t even admit to yourself- let alone aloud- the extent of your feelings for me. You want me to say it first so that nothing bad will happen if you put yourself out there, and that’s not going to happen.”
“I-“ He starts to speak, but can’t think of a rebuttal. You have him pegged. “I may not know exactly what my feelings are yet, but I can feel them, y/n. You remain on my mind constantly- so if you want me to stop feeling for you, then you need to stop.”
“Oh, I need to stop?”
“Yes, you-“
“You’re the one constantly making me reconsider everything I tell myself. You are the one who needs to stop.”
“Before what? Before we give in to this… obvious desire, and put aside duties to do something for ourselves?”
Heavy breathing fills the silence. He always manages to rile you up, and you can’t stand it.
“You should go. No, in fact,” you raise your hands in a gesture of surrender, “I’ll go.”
Without giving him the chance to respond, you flee down the stairs to the main deck and through the doors to the cabin hall. All this back and forth with Law is giving you a headache.
You can’t deny it any longer though; now that your captain knows too, it’s like you’ve spoken it into permanent existence. You’re in love with Law, and there’s next to nothing stopping you from being with him in the way you truly desire. Not even your sense of duty.
You should never have counted on the Strawhats to hold you back from something- or someone you love.

What makes me feel icky is the misogyny when it comes to interpreting N x V like if the roles were reversed and N was a girl instead and V was a boy, would people label it as a toxic ship? I kept thinking about this because if you watched a dude attack a woman and slice her head off because he refused to tell the truth about the past of the two then would people call it toxic? Idk it seems like apparently current Envy gets a pass because V is a pretty girl instead of a guy. Would people defend V if she was a dude like they do when she’s a girl and would people hate N for defending “herself” in Episode 4 against V like they hated current N for that
I think that N and V’s relationship is more dysfunctional than abusive but at the same time, it definitely is also abusive in a way like it’s not normal for two people to start hurting each other emotionally and physically. I just find it odd how if the roles were switched I don’t think that Envy would’ve gotten the following that it did
For some reason when people acknowledge that V was hurting N both emotionally and physically toxic envy shippers would excuse that “V was just traumatised!” “N was about to kill Uzi in the pilot though!” “She was just protecting him!”
Trauma shouldn’t excuse hurting the people you care about, that would just make the situation way more worse, relationships are about trust and communication, obviously V and N are both traumatised, V was just the only one that remembered it but as I said that doesn’t excuse her actions, if she truly loved N she wouldn’t be doing this
Just a disclaimer, I’m not making V seem like the bad guy, N is not so innocent either, they both have issues that they should’ve worked out a long time ago, I just hate how people would immediately defend V but turn around and hate N for defending himself against her, if it really was the other way then there are chances that people wouldn’t be defending V but since she is a pretty girl people would defend her like no tomorrow, it’s just misogynistic in my eyes

Some personal chat, rules, and tags under the cut.
Doing some oversharing because I'm starting to think it's vital that we all are honest about our struggles so we don't feel alone and so we know we're not failures. We're just people.
It's been a low production year for me. It's been a difficult year in general, but sometimes change is hard even when it's change you need.
Over half my year was eaten up with job hunting, moving, and trying to adjust while feeling the depressive effects of not having a local friend/support network yet or enough money for whatever the fuck the economy is, esp in this area relative to my salary. A good deal of my body of works for 2023 were written pre-move. Hell, a good deal of them were written in the first quarter. (Which, btw, shout out to anyone else who often feels a bittersweet sort of regret at not being productive in the current internet environment where you feel like you're old news if you can't keep up an unsustainable output. I love you, same, it's prob not true anyway, and here are 200 forehead kisses. <33) All of that said, I'm feeling much better lately. I've been reading again. Writing again. Feeling like I'm living again. I'm looking forward to another arbitrary border of time and on filling that border with joy, especially queer joy and weird joy and the intersection of both of those. As they say: let's fucking gooo.
I still love it here. I know steddie won't be forever for me, just like other ships before them weren't forever for me. But I'm having fun and have been really enjoying some of the connections made in this little sandbox.
On that note:
Rules: Feel free to show whatever stats you have. Only want to show Ao3 stats? Rock on. Want to include some quantitative info instead of stats? Please do this. Want to change how yours is presented? Absolutely do that. Would rather eat glass than do this? Please do eat glass, I’ve heard it’s good for your gums. Tagging, even though I know some people have already been tagged: @sparklyslug, @wormdebut, @banannabethchase, @just-my-latest-hyperfixation @messessentialist @rainbow-nerdss @plutosrose @thefreakandthehair and anyone else. @ everyone who keeps this fandom rippin' and roarin', kissing you, kissing you, kissing you

Again And Again
Portgas D Ace X Reader
-Amatsuki Y/N decided to stay in the future without her sister upon meeting a friend’s son.
Chapter 5: O Captain! My Captain!
The moment Edward said you were to go on this mission alone was the moment you declined.
Earlier before receiving your current mission, quarter of the crew had been dispatched to search for a fruit. Of course Edward hadn't told you what the fruit was, you declined that mission. After all Ace wasn't one of those deployed.
But today, you didn't have a choice. Still on the same island, Edward had told you to retrieve something else than the first dispatch, and you were to do it alone.
You declined firmly not wanting to leave Ace's side but you had no choice, when he reminds you he was your captain. You had asked, begged even that he sends another person but he firmly sent you.
You were by far the strongest in the crew, second only to your captain. That was the only plausible reason you thought of as to why it had to be you specifically. But then again, what could be so important that you had to be sent?
Right now here you were packing for a mission you don't even know how long will last. You don't even know if the ship would still be docked by the time you finish. But you had to leave for it now.
"Y/N!!!" You turn around to see Ace hopping excitedly to you waving a paper, presumably the new bounty posters. "He's coming!!!"
His giddy and excited screams practically woke up half of the crew that was left on board.
"Ace-"
He jumps to hold you by the hip to spin you around, with the biggest grin you had ever seen. You laugh at his excitement, as he sets you down slowly to keep you from getting hurt.
"Y/N!!!!!" He was jumping and pacing in excitement as he tries to hand you the poster at hand, failing miserably as he was moving around too much.
You hold him by the shoulder still laughing, "Calm down, you're gonna get yourself hurt." As you had held him still you snatched the poster on his hand.
It was a 30 million bounty poster to a boy in a straw hat. A familiar one to point out. The boy with shaggy black hair, round black eyes reminds you of both Roger and Ace coincidentally. The boy also has a scar with two stitches underneath his left eye.
"Monkey D. Luffy." You read the name. You took time trying to rack your mind as to who that name belong to. You can see Ace expectantly waiting for your reaction. "OH!!! ITS YOUR BROTHER!!!"
He cheered once again wrapping his arms around you jumping up and down, squeezing you tight you could hardly breath.
"He's coming!! Where do you think he's gonna be? He's probably on his way to the reverse mountain! What if I go there to meet him?! O-Or maybe I could go to his first island instead! Which one do you think is gonna be his first? Our first island was overran by trees. Do you think that his first island is going to be there? Would meeting him at another island be better? What about Drum Island? Or maybe Alabasta? Alabsta is a kingdom I think that'd be the better option. We should go there! But would meeting him there not be a good idea? What if I end up interfering with his ad-"
You squeeze his squeeze his cheeks with your hand giving him a fish face.
"You're so cute when you're excited." You giggle. "But you're overthinking everything."
Getting away from your hold he gave you a grin, "I just can't wait for him to meet you. You're going to love him! He's also gonna love you! It's gonna be great I swear."
You laugh. "From the stories you've told me, I think having you both in my life would be the death of me."
He pulls you to his chest swaying slightly day dreaming about what could happen, he had the sweetest smile that made your heart melt and your stomach tingle. "I haven't seen him in forever."
"I bet he's missed you too."
"You know you're probably not gonna get to eat much if he ever eats with us." He snickers.
"I don't get to eat much when I'm with you either dummy. Something tells me I wouldn't eat at all."
"Where do you think he'd be? Where would be the best place to meet him?"
"I'd say somewhere with a lot of food. Bring him to Big Mom's territory maybe." You joke.
"I know you're joking but that's actually a good idea." He ponders. "Last time we went there she provided 5 buffet tables for the entire crew."
"Yeah, they never stopped feeding you there. You know like the witch in that fats you up with candy."
"Why did we meet with them again?"
"I don't remember anything after you ate her shortcake. She was trying to kill you."
"Katakuri should've seen it coming. It's his fault."
"As if he could stop you. You grabbed the cake as soon as it came to the room." You laughed. "I still remember the look on his face when he saw you grab the cake. He had the look that he knew soemthing bad was gonna happen at that second and he desperately wants it not to happen."
"His future sight it so cool."
"Oh no is your crush on him coming back?"
He pouts, "I'm just saying... Its really cool. I bet Luffy will be all over him."
"I can also technically see the future, but you don't praise me."
"You're both really cool." He grinned and placed a chaste kiss on your lips.
"Hell yeah I am." You smirked making him chuckle. "Is Katakuri like your favorite pirate excluding us?"
"Probably. I remember them talking about having all those food unlimitedly if pops had agreed to something. Whatever it was Pops should've said yes."
"You don't even know what it is." You laughed.
"I don't need to know. I had all Big Mom's son feeding me." He said proudly. "Those guys are unlimited food I'm telling you."
"Now that I think about it maybe I was right they were fattening you up and then they were gonna feed you to Big Mom. You were the only one eating so much."
"Not true! Everyone was eating!"
"We were but not as much as you. I barely got to eat because his sons kept bothering me and I had to keep watch of you."
"We really should come over again, with Luffy. I'll make sure not to eat her shortcake this time."
"Luffy will probably eat it."
"Well maybe Katakuri will finally do something. He should expect it by now."
Your moment was interrupted by someone at your door clearing his throat. Ace goes to hug you from behind not to block your view on the man at the door.
"Teach, what's up?"
"Pops wanted to remind you that you had to leave." He grinned.
Ace slumps on your shoulder with a pout. You ruffle Ace's hair and removes his arms around you.
"Blame Ace if the old man asks." You say as you grab your bag. "I'll be back, don't do anything rash and stupid and just wait for me okay?"
"Don't take too long~"
~
You'd think a mission personally for you given by Edward would be something important. But alas, it was nothing.
In your hand was an averaged size chest. Inside was 2 devil fruit you aren't quite sure what was, and papers you hadn't bothered to look into yet.
As you returned to the Oro Jackson after weeks of your mission, you'd think you would come back to a warm welcome and cheers for your success, you felt a mix of excitement and anticipation to reunite with the crew... to be more specific Ace.
However, as you stepped onto the deck, your expectation was the total opposite. All that was there was a heavy atmosphere hanging over the crew. Concern etched its way into your heart, and you immediately sought out someone to find answers.
"Guys?" You call out.
Marco was first to notice your return. His eyes widen as if he wasn't expecting you, and looks away.
"Marco?"
He grabs Jozu's shoulder and whispers something. Jozu nods and walks to the direction of Edward's room not looking your way.
"I swear, if you don't fucking tell me what's wrong." You taunt. Glaring at everyone.
"Y/N," Deuce comes up slowly. "We couldn't..."
Your brows furrow. "Deuce, I was gone for two fucking weeks. What happened?!" You yell.
But then a realization hit you. You scan the crowd, and it seemed that your suspicions were right as they all looked away figuring you were about to find out.
There were a few missing faces. But it wasn't just anyone missing.
With a sinking feeling, you approached Marco. "What happened? Where's Ace?" You asked, your voice trembling with worry.
His expression turned somber as he looked away. You turn to the other looking at anyone and everyone.
"Deuce? Vista? Banshee??? What happened? Ace, Thatch and Teach are gone... Why isn't anyone telling me anything?"
At this point you were assuming the worse. And you sure as hell are not going to let that happen.
"Y/N don't." Your heart dropped when a booming voice behind you. Standing, towering above you, you glare him down. "Ace, a week ago. He said he needed to sort things out."
"Sort things out?" You repeated, feeling a sense of worry creep into your heart. "What happened?"
The crewmate hesitated, then softly said, "Thatch is gone. He was killed by Teach."
You felt your stomach churn. "T-Thatch- No, Teach is strong but he can't easi-"
"He stole the fruit Thatch's team was to get."
"What...?"
"Yami Yami no Mi."
A fruit you know. A fruit you hadn't thought you'd come across again since your travel across time with your sister began. A fruit that you and your sister had been asked to stay away from centuries ago.
"Ace... Why would you let Ace-" Your eyes widen as you look at your captain in horror, sending Ace into a suicide mission.
Marco hold you back knowing you, he was aware you were about to pounce the old man.
"Y/N, Ace went against pops' orders! Please calm down and listen!!" He cried out trying to keep you down.
Tears streaming your face you glare at your captain. You stood before Edward, your emotions boiling over with anger and grief. The weight of the recent events, Ace's departure, and Thatch's tragic death felt unbearable, and you couldn't help but direct your frustration toward the captain who had sent you on the mission.
"Why did you send me on that mission?" you demanded, your voice sharp with accusation. "If I hadn't been away, maybe I could've been there for Ace and Thatch."
Edward's expression softened, understanding the pain in your words. He knew you cared deeply for Ace, more than anything, and the thought of not being there for him when he needed you most was a heavy burden on your heart. "I sent you on that mission because I believed in your abilities," he said calmly. "I trusted that you could handle it, and I knew you would always do your best for the crew."
You throw the chest you held at him, "Here's your fucking end results." Your anger flared even more at Edward's response. "Great job huh? We got what you fucking wanted!" they retorted. "Ace and Thatch are gone, and I wasn't there to stop anything all because of you! I could've stopped Teach!"
Edward eyes held a mix of sorrow and regret. "I didn't expect such a tragedy to happen," he admitted. "I didn't foresee that the mission would lead to such devastating consequences."
"I told you I didn't want the fucking mission!" You screamed.
Marco held onto you hoping to calm you down, "Y/N calm down! That's your captain!"
But you, consumed by anger, unable to see beyond the pain. "He may be your captain, but he's not mine," you declared, your words sharp and cutting, eyes locking with Edward's. "I was only here for Ace."
Edward looked taken aback by the statement, but he remained calm. "You may be angry right now, I don't hold this against you. You can have your space to collect yourself, you will always be a part of this crew," he said, his voice carrying a sense of fatherly concern.
Your emotions were too raw to be soothed by Edward's words. "I followed Roger and Oden, and I haven't been been part of this crew for years," you said, voice cracking with emotion.
As you turned to walk away, Marco couldn't bear to let you leave in such turmoil. He knew how much the Whitebeard Pirates meant to you, even after all those years of absence. With a hurried stride, he caught up to you and gently placed a hand on your shoulder, trying to offer some comfort.
"Wait," Marco implored, his voice soft and caring. "I know you're hurting, and I understand that things have changed, but you're still a part of this crew in our hearts."
You stopped, but you didn't turn to face Marco. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you fought to control the emotions threatening to overwhelm you.
"I can't lose him," You said, your voice breaking. "If something happens to him... I don't know what I'd do."
Marco moved to stand in front of you, ensuring that you had his full attention. "You know pops would never let that happen," he said, looking into your eyes with empathy. "We've all been through a lot, and your feelings are valid. This incident shouldn't break us. We can get him back together."
You tried to hold back a sob, your emotions still raw and tumultuous. "I don't know if I can be a part of this crew again," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
"You don't have to decide right now," Marco said gently. "Take the time you need to sort through your feelings. We'll be here, waiting for you."
You finally met Marco's gaze, finding warmth and understanding in his eyes. "Does Edward hate me?" you asked, fear and uncertainty in your voice.
Marco smiled reassuringly. "He could never hate you," he said. "He knows you're going through a lot, just take your time, we'll all be here for you."
You reached out, embracing Marco in a tight hug, finding comfort in his presence and the reassurance of a friend's unwavering support.
"I don't know what to do," you admitted, your voice muffled against Marco's shoulder.
"That's okay," Marco said, hugging you back. "You don't have to have all the answers right now. Just know that we care about you, and we'll face whatever comes together."
"You know, the reason I came to the future. I was so heartbroken about Roger." As you spoke, your voice trembled. Marco listened attentively, understanding the deep pain and determination in their words.
"He was sick, so there wasn't really anything I could've done to help him... to save him." You say as tears spilled down your cheeks. "I had no choice but to lose Roger all those years ago," you said, your voice heavy with emotion. "It was beyond my control, and I couldn't even come to his final moments."
Marco nodded, his eyes filled with empathy. He doesn't bother saying anything as he figured a friendly ear was what you needed most right now.
"I can't bear the thought of losing Ace, too," You continued. "Not when I can stop it. I can't let the same tragedy happen again."
Marco placed a comforting hand on your shoulder, offering you support. "We'll do everything in our power to get Ace," he assured you. "We'll face whatever challenges come our way. You're not going to be alone here."
As you walked away from Marco, your heart felt lighter than before. The weight of your past still lingered, but Marco's words and support had provided a renewed sense of hope and determination. You knew that you couldn't change the events of the past, but you could shape the future, and you were determined to do everything in your power to get Ace back.
As you prepared to leave the Whitebeard Pirates once again, a sense of gratitude and responsibility welled up inside. You knew that you owed the crew an apology, especially to Edward.
Taking a deep breath, you approached Whitebeard with a mix of nervousness and determination. You couldn't leave without expressing your feelings and acknowledging the support you had received.
"Edward," you said, your voice steady but filled with sincerity, "I want to say I'm sorry."
Whitebeard looked at you, his expression softening with understanding. "You don't have to apologize," he replied gently. "You've been through a lot, and I know it hasn't been easy for you."
You shook your head, feeling the weight of your emotions. "No, I do need to apologize," you insisted. "I said things I didn't mean in the heat of the moment. I know you care for Ace, Thatch and the crew deeply, and I shouldn't have said what I had said."
Whitebeard placed a hand on your shoulder, offering reassurance. "We all say things we don't mean when emotions run high," he said. "I understand your pain and your need to protect those you care about."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you nodded, grateful for Whitebeard's understanding. "Thank you," you said, your voice choked with emotion. "Thank you for letting me be a part a second time."
Whitebeard smiled warmly. "You'll always be a part of this crew, no matter where life takes you," he said. "We've been through thick and thin together, and that bond won't be broken. No matter how much time passes."
You wiped away your tears, feeling a mix of sadness and gratitude. "I'll always cherish the time I spent with the Whitebeard Pirates," you said. "And I promise I'll come back as soon as I can. Make sure to keep a spot open for me."
Whitebeard nodded, his eyes filled with fatherly affection. "Take all the time you need," he said. "Make sure to bring that brat with you."

signalis lore spoilers
people keep talking about the penrose 512 crashing on Leng, and i don't think people are considering the fact that... it's not possible.
normally possible, anyways.
launched from an orbital station at high speed, the Penrose ship design was never designed to carry enough fuel to carry out full accelerations, only enough to maneuver the craft once launched
the broadcast transmission at 1500 cycles explicitly mentions that by the time 1500 cycles have passed (~4 earth years), they are sitting around the edge of the Oort cloud, the massive debris field that surrounds every solar system
going roughly by the anatomy of our solar system, that means they passed leng (the farthest out labled planetoid) maybe as far as a year back from cycle 1500.
and then they keep going for at least around ~3900 odd cycles out into space (bringing the total flight time to ~5400 cycles).
that's about 8-9 years of continued travel at their approximate velocity before Ariane is put in cryo, and we have no idea how much longer Elster is alive for after that.
unless they managed to pull off some crazy mid-space orbital manuever, they would never have had the fuel to reverse their velocity and head back in the direction of the solar system, and there is never any mention of an attempt (or even desire to) return to the solar system.
we don't know if the Penrose crashes out there or just keeps flying through space, but the Penrose ever being anywhere close to Leng is.... physically impossible, barring special exception.
this also throws a serious wrench in the theory that all LSTR units are based on a decommissioned Elster (LSTR 512). The Eusan government is willing to do a lot of things, but flying a 30 odd year round trip to go fetch Elster (who they know is dead and having their brain decompose) is WILD.
yes, the original LSTR neural pattern was lost with the destruction of the central archives on Vineta. yes, the LSTR they salvaged the currently used pattern from was part of the Penrose program.
but it was probably from an LSTR unit that never launched or was part of an orbital crew working on the Penrose program ships (someone has to build them, load them and launch them, right?).
Our Elster was too long gone, and the sealed document that talks about the loss of the Vinetan archives was... packed into the luggage of the Penrose 512, before any of the events of our story take place.
so... how *does* the Penrose crash on Leng, of all places? why is it right outside of the Sierpinski facility, which Elster and Ariane were nearly assigned to all those years ago? why does Elster have to pass through the black gate to get into Sierpinski?
Ariane's desperation and bioresonance is clearly a part of it, but teleporting a ship hundreds of thousands of miles... by yourself? Elster coming back to life, hundreds of times during the time loop? Where are we even supposed to start with the fact that Ariane has clearly left the ship at the start of the game, and is only in the red-wastes version of the Penrose?
one of Falke's crayon pages talks about meeting Ariane in the red wastes beyond the gate. it's unclear when this took place, and it probably has something to do with the bioresonance tying Falke and Elster's memories together, but i can't help but think that when Falke met the Red Eye, she also met Ariane, reaching out desperately across space.
regardless, something genuinely eldritch is happening, and it's not just the flesh below Leng that's proof of something *else* going on.

You probably could have resisted more. There wasn’t much point in trying to fight back. He was far more powerful than you, and you didn’t exactly have anything to fight for at the moment. So you followed him through the streets, he hadn’t given you any information about where you were going, that was beneath him. He told you to follow, and you obeyed. The Thirteenth Brother didn’t need to tell you the other option.
He’s walking in front of you, not once glancing back to confirm that you are still his shadow. You look around as you walk, noticing the sidelong looks and whispers of those nearby. You are too emotionally exhausted to care.
You are familiar with this part of town, the only area of interest is the landing bay. You know that the moment that he gets you aboard his ship, you’ll never be able to escape. Though you’re not sure you can escape him currently, perhaps you should try.
You look around to see if there’s enough of a distraction to make your escape. There’s a few groups of people you could try to disappear behind. You could duck into the maze of alleyways and attempt to find a hiding place, maybe you should just steal a ship, you’re good at flying.
“So you are going to attempt an escape.” He says simply. “I wasn’t sure you had it in you.”
You glance at the back of his head as he continues to walk forward, wishing you could avoid thinking. You don’t have enough energy to resist. Even if you did, you don’t know how to protect your mind against his invasion.
“I wouldn’t recommend it, but you’re welcome to try, I might even give you a head start.” You can hear the amusement on his lips.
You don’t run, instead you stop following, staring right at him as you do so. He stops as well, turning to look at you. He examines you, a hint of interest in his overall unimpressed expression. Challenging you to make you move, he can sense the indecisiveness in your mind.
You stare at each other for a long moment; you haven’t decided whether to follow or run. There’s a blank spot in your mind and you aren’t even sure what you really want at this moment. Escaping means facing the pain of your lost relationship, restarting. Following is equally unknown, but it definitely means a loss of freedom. Complete freedom or lack thereof, both are equally terrifying and neither are what you want.
“So focused only on what you want.” He says in a steady tone. “An unreliable way to move through life.”
You blink, momentarily pulled from your own feelings. You're curious what else could make your decision. Should you decide based on duty? Familiarity? Safety? His expression is near unreadable and the indecision has rooted you to the earth unable to choose your path forward.
You wish you could go back, reverse time, and undo everything that led you to this moment. You are wishing so desperately for a third option, for anything to pull you away and put you anywhere else in space and time.
“What do you desire?” His eyes narrow slightly, demanding an answer. “Speak.”
You can only shake your head in response, unable to put anything into words right now. He steps forward, closing the distance but not touching you. He looks down his nose at you while you are staring at the collar of his uniform. Finally, you make the smallest decision possible and slowly tilt your head upward.
You allow yourself to scan your tired eyes up his throat. Despite your exhaustion, wicked thoughts creep in easily. You imagine damaging that perfect skin with bruises and bite marks. Regaining some control, you push the thought away but falter again. Moving upwards to his short beard, you envision the scratches it would leave behind on your inner thighs.
Now focused on his lips, you remember his words, ‘if you’re good, I’ll permit you the feel of my lips.’ He didn’t say where you would feel his lips, but your mind can’t think of a place you don’t want to feel them.
“This is the only time I will repeat myself. What do you desire?” His tone is low and threatening, demanding you pay attention.
You suck in a breath and only can whisper, “To feel.”
“To feel what?” he asks.
“Desired.” You raise your head, finally meeting his gaze. It’s intense, and it leaves you breathless. His eyes are dark and expecting, requiring that you submit everything to him. You never want to live without being looked at like this. It’s as if he can see everything that you are and he wants nothing more than to have all of it.
“Very good.” He reaches out and captures your right hand with his own. His fingers curl around the back of your hand. He uses his thumb to push on the junction where your fingers meet your palm, forcing them to remain open and prevent their curling around him. He pulls that hand upwards, slowly, never breaking eye contact. You watch as he brings the pads of your fingers directly in front of his mouth. He exhales slowly, heat dancing across their tips.
The moment the breath is gone, he captures the pad of your middle finger between his lips, kissing it slowly. His lips are warm to the touch and he ignites a fire that trails down your finger. You have never felt more alive. He loosens his grip slightly as he finishes the single, searing kiss. The pad lingers on his bottom lip, tugging the flesh down a fraction of an inch before he lowers your hand gently back towards the earth.
“I will give you a choice, follow me and I will give you exactly what you desire. Or turn and leave.” He releases your hand as it nears your side. “I will not retaliate, however, you will make this decision on your own.”
He then turns around and walks away without looking back. You stand there dumbfounded for a moment. Trying to recover from the most intimate moment of your life. A kiss on one finger, it makes little sense, you shouldn’t feel this undone by something as insignificant as what he did. But it was never about the small kiss, it was about the way he looked at you while he did it.
The movement of your feet alerts your brain that they have decided for you. You hurry to catch up and fall into place behind him as he leads you onto his ship. He closes the loading door and you wonder if you made the right choice. You watch as the outside world slowly disappears behind the metal. All doubt leaves as he turns to face you, giving you the look you’ve so quickly grown addicted to.
“You will not address me unless spoken to, and when you address me, it will be by my proper title. However, when we are alone, I permit you to call me by my old name, Cal.” He says.
You nod, “Cal.” You say slowly, feeling how you move your tongue while saying it. “Do you want my name?”
“I have no interest in knowing your name, from this point forward, that name never existed. I don’t want to know who you were before this. If I were to find out, I am expected to carry out my duties.” His stern expression showing a deeper meaning.
“I understand.” You say, confirming that your life before this never happened.
You give him a confused look, unsure why he is choosing to overlook the information in your head. Inquisitors take what they want without concern for others. He also didn’t force you to board his ship, instead giving you the choice to turn and leave. His actions are perplexing but you lack the emotional energy to dwell.
“Find a seat.” He says and turns towards the cockpit, seating himself in the front most seat. Without hesitation you follow and take one of the two seats behind Cal. You can’t help but to lean forward slightly to see the controls. You’ve never been in a Scythe before and are curious to see the features. Watching him with interest as he powers up the ship and navigates the craft upwards before flying forwards to escape the atmosphere.
Once safely amongst the stars, Cal enters the destination coordinates and puts the ship into autopilot. He stands, blocking the navigation system with his body, gesturing for you to get up as well and leave the vicinity. You do as you're told and before you head towards the back of the craft; he grabs your arm gently.
“Eavesdropping is a quick way to shorten your life.” He says, his eyes trying to convey an underlying warning. He then releases you and after you move past the threshold, a wall slides out to split the small ship into two.
You hear him speaking, obviously communicating with someone else in the Empire. Your first instinct is to press your ear against the wall and listen in, as you had been doing for so many years. But you push it aside, instead stepping further away from the conversation and moving towards the back of the ship.
There’s not a large interior; the small room is mostly empty but has four cushioned seats lining the walls. You can assume the open space in the middle is used to hold supplies, or prisoners. You go to take the furthest seat on the right side, unsure what to do with yourself.
Your thoughts drift to Theo, replaying the events of yesterday and this morning. Wondering what he would think of you now, maybe he wouldn’t care. You feel a deep sadness at the loss. Everything has only gotten worse the longer you’ve lived. Losing your family ten years ago, Theo’s choice to step away from your relationship, and now your freedom is gone. Sitting alone in this room it’s hard to remember why you didn’t choose to leave and start over.
You continue to dwell on the losses and pain, unaware of how much time has passed. Eventually the wall slides back open and Cal approaches you. His face is mostly the same expression as before, only slight movements give away any sense of his true feelings. He holds the same intense gaze that is shadowed by his brow, but this time the position of his jaw lets on his annoyance.
“Your thoughts are distracting.” Cal says simply. He strides over to sit in the seat next to yours, his back remains straight. His eyebrow raises marginally, waiting for your response.
You nod slowly, trying to form the right words. “I’m processing.”
“You were crying at the market.” He says.
“Yes,” you say, staring at the floor.
“Are you going to keep doing that?” He asks.
You meet his eyes, “Are you ordering me to not do it again?”
The edges of his eyes crease the tiniest bit as if he’s amused by your question. He repositions his body turning more to face you. “No, but your feelings are unpredictable. Either sadness or lust, with very little warning in between.”
You stare at him a moment, wanting to feel angered by his comment, but his looks disarm you. He tilts his head in curiosity, trying to keep up with your ever changing emotions. His eyes pierce your soul, and you love it.
You find your mind wandering again, picturing that same expression looking up at you from between your legs. Your stomach flips in excitement. You’re curious what he looks like when he comes undone. If he closes his eyes and scrunches his freckled nose. Or if he throws his head back, his mouth open, sighing in ecstasy.
He silently observes you the entire time. You know he is listening in, hearing every thought, but he barely shows more than a small tug at the corner of his mouth.
He sits up slightly and leans in, hinging at the hips, taking a firm interest in your thoughts. You don’t consider stopping your desires or looking away. You know you should feel uncomfortable having someone listen in to your fantasies about them, but it’s so incredibly arousing. Something about the way he focuses on you makes it feel so good. He doesn’t shy away from these thoughts, and doesn’t get embarrassed. He only looks at you exactly how you want him to and listens.
You remember how he kissed your fingertip, wondering if he would do everything with his intoxicating mouth similarly. You imagine how slow he would trail kisses down your neck. Refusing to move from one kiss to the next until the noise you made satisfied him. The way he might refuse to let you press your lips to his until you begged just right. He barely had to do anything to turn you on, his eyes and slow kisses were enough.
He stands, moving in front of your chair. Your thoughts quiet immediately. Bending down, he places his hands on the armrests, caging you in. He leans forward, bringing his face close to yours. You inhale sharply, not entirely sure what his next move will be. He stares down and you find yourself unable to continue breathing. All you can do is look back into his pretty eyes.
Then without warning, he drops into a squat in front of you, and you finally exhale. He removes his left hand from your armrest, reaches down slowly to the hem of your skirt. Pushes his index and middle finger under the black fabric, just to the first knuckle. He then curls his fingers quickly, flipping the bottom inch of your skirt back, folding the fabric upon itself. You let out a small gasp.
“You’ll need new clothes, you’ve stored dangerous memories in these,” Cal gives a warning look. “You look pretty in black, I’ll find something at our next stop.”
He then stands, straightens and turns towards the cockpit. “Buckle yourself in, we’ll be landing soon.”
You stand to follow, reeling from the anticipation you felt in that moment. You take purposeful deep breaths to calm your heart. As you let your guard down, Cal turns back slowly, closing the distance between your bodies.
You immediately look up into his face, watching as he reaches towards you. His right hand strokes your hair starting at the top of your head, unhurried. He lets his fingers follow the strands downwards, tracing lightly across your ear.
He moves further brushing your collarbone, your body tingles. He adjusts his position slightly so that some of his fingers trace your skin as he moves downwards. His thumb stroking the swell of your breast as he nears the end. Your low cut shirt benefiting you at this moment, the old memories almost forgotten.
Once he reaches the end of your hair, he pulls his hand away. Watching for your reaction. All you can do is glance at his lips in response, you’re becoming needy and he knows it. He doesn’t move, more interested in hearing the desire in your head, than satisfying it.
“Cal,” escapes your lips, barely audible. His eyebrows raise more than normal. He seems genuinely surprised that he got you to speak without being prompted. Then quickly settles his face back into the expression that you love. He reaches his right hand back out to brush the hair off your left shoulder.
“Very good.” Cal praises you for using your words, even if it was only one nearly silent word. He leans down, passing your face, instead leaning towards your now exposed neck. He takes his time, finding the exact spot on your collarbone that he wants. Right where the bone dips lower under the skin. His hot breath feels like it’s setting you on fire. The anticipation is thrilling.
Then he touches his soft lips to your skin, dragging his slightly parted mouth closed as he places the kiss with intention. You feel nothing but pleasure course through your brain at this sensation. Closing your eyes and letting out a breathy whine to ask for more. He completes his movements and pulls away slowly. As he stands back to his full height, you feel his eyes watching you from the moment that he has a line of sight. He looks at you in such a seductive manner, making your pulse quicken. You wish he would give you more.
“Prepare yourself, it’s time to land.” Cal says, turning away and sitting in the pilot’s chair. You follow suit, barely functioning, but following his orders.

The mirror is not a mirror. Its a jewellery holder. I bought this mirror for £5 at a car boot sale when I was about 15 years old. It's served me well for the last 27 years. I've always used it more for jewellery, the curly bits lend themselves to that, and it means when they're not being worn they're still decorative to the room.
Tumblr media
There's far too much here for me to go through it all, though the vast majority is thrifted or I've had for decades and I forget where its from. However, shoutout to my friend for the rosary style necklace (here's a post I did about them in more detail which includes a link to her etsy shop). She also made the green lady and the heart with the eye in it at the top and the dragon eye. I think they were all done with air drying clay.
I also assembled a few myself (can't really say I properly "made" them), the ones you see on velvet ribbons, and I have a full post about how I did that here.
The message board is not a message board. Its a jewellery holder.
Tumblr media
Many of these were found or thrifted. The two sets at the top left are my Good Omens earrings that I put together with charms and beads, the onyx teardrops were my wedding earrings, the flies are by Katie Whittle, the Krampus ones were bought at a comic con but unfortunately I've forgotten the details of the seller (a shame because she had lots of other cool stuff).
The ravens I got from Etsy, but they're originally Ali Express. Be careful with etsy, there are a lot of sellers who claim their stock is handmade but are really re-selling items from Ali Express, Wish or Temu. Initially I found these for £19 ("on sale", regular price supposedly £30). All the seller had done was put an earring hook on them, which I really don't think qualifies them as handmade or warrants such a price hike. I did a search for "crow charm" and found them being sold elsewhere on etsy for £5. Then I did a reverse image search and found the original Ali Express listing where they can be bought for £2.37.
I did buy the £5 etsy ones for the convenience of having them shipped from the UK, but I would always advise checking more than one shop, or using Google lens/reverse image searching if you suspect an etsy item might not be legit.
You may notice, none of my earrings have hooks or posts on them. This is because my ears are stretched (the right has been 16mm for many years, and I'm currently stretching up the left to match, at present it's 5mm), so I can't wear conventional earrings.
You can get special plugs or tunnels that you can hang a hook earring from, but they usually make it very front-heavy which I don't like. I prefer the weight evenly distributed across my whole ear.
So, I simply remove the hook or post from any earrings I buy using jewellery pliers, and when I want to wear a set I hang them from a hinged segment ring (bottom left on my pin board, very cheap online), and put the ring through my tunnel. You just have to make sure there is a loop of some kind left at the top of the earring that you can put the segment ring through.
And if I want to wear them hanging from another of my lobe piercings I can do that too 😉. All my regular piercings are 1.2mm.

✨️Reading One Piece with my Dofladile goggles on✨️
(My English is kinda trash)
Let's start with these amazing panels
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahhh yes Doflamingo kicking Luffy around while talking about Crocodile being defeated because of him.
Now let's go back to the first time we saw doflamingo...
Tumblr media
"Let's discuss what we came here to discuss...Fufufufu! And quickly wrap up this meeting"
He was in marijoa literally bullying the marines to start the meeting, he wanted to know what happened.
Then he says..
Tumblr media
"I wasn't planning to come either, but my business has been going so smoothly as of late, I came here out of boredom"
Hmmmm idk that sounds very sus, he is obviously obsessed he was literally going through the bounties until he saw Luffy's bounty and decided it was him.
Of course he's going to attend the meeting to know what is going on..
And ...
what made me make this post in the first place is this..
Tumblr media
Why did He go to jaya???? The island the Strawhats went to right after Alabasta🤨
Was he fucking chasing after Luffy???
He came from dressrosa (in the new world)-> to marijoa to attend the meeting -> (then after he became sure it's luffy he literally flied across half of the world through sabaody, water 7 and all those islands) -> to reach Jaya
And if you read the page you can conclude that doflamingo probably called bellamy with a din din mushi to tell him to just kick the strawhats out, and not fight them (he knew Bellamy would lose), and if bellamy lost, doflamingo will kill him for humiliating doflamingo's flag, that was the agreement we learned about in dressrosa, he spared him here...
Now why did doflamingo tell him to just leave the strawhats alone, and yet come to jaya running??? I'm just picturing him really mad, flying over the clouds like that scene in punk hazard, and planning to take revenge on luffy himself😂 especially since luffy is a D too.
And when bellamy said: "If I merely kicked them out... they will get to your position eventually"
Doflamingo replied: "That is very thoughtful of you my royal follower. I like that.."
And started talking about the new era and shit, did he decide to wait for Luffy to come to him instead???
Marineford
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Current and former Shichibukai all gathered here...fufufu"
He was very excited to see Crocodile again 🥰
And finally the fated reunion..
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIM
Tumblr media
He even helped Croc by stopping jozu🥰
Tumblr media
And started flirting OMG DOFFY CALM DOWN
Tumblr media
There's just something about this exchange, it feels very... out of place, everyone around them fighting while they're standing in the middle of the battle field flirting and having a friendly conversation in front of white beard's ship, and doflamingo inviting crocodile to team up against white beard to bring the new era, since everyone knows croc has a grudge against him.
and I think this is the only time we see crocodile smile in this arc, the exchange ends with him being a tsundere as usual which is great, I also feel like this shows they knew each other from a time back when they were rookies, they were both at lougetown the day of Roger's execution, so they probably go waaay back.
So when crocodile switched sides, and started helping white beard (the symbol of the old era) against the government, doflamingo got mad..
Tumblr media
Now why the hell is doflamingo focusing on crocodile this much???
What is Oda thinking?? What exactly is their relationship?
I hope we have a similar scene after doffy breaks out from prison, but in reverse with crocodile asking doffy how he found the bath of blood, and Then doflamingo asking to join cross guild (basically begging to be his subordinate like crocodile said), that would be awesome foreshadowing.
Then they would be working together ushering in the new era for real this time!! Maybe With moria and mihawk too!! They were all at Roger's execution after all, but now they're all fighting against the world government, while in marineford crocodile was the only one on whitebeard's side, while doffy, mihawk, and moria were fighting on behalf the world government.

Destiel Prompt List 13. Human!Impala ships it.
Trigger Warnings: temporarily implied vehicle theft, mention of fake death, mentions of carseks, mention of internalized biphobia, implied sexy times, using humor to deflect
Baby, Why Haven't You Yet?
"...." "Dean? What's wrong?" Sam said, looking from his brother to the place he was staring at. "Baby's gone." Dean said blankly, like his brain hadn't quite caught up yet. "I parked her right there! I swear." He said, pointing to an empty parking space. "Dean, maybe you're just getting your landmarks wrong. The Impala didn't just dissapear." Sam says, exhausted from the hunt. Witches, man.
"You think I'd just misplace my Baby?! I know where I parked her, Sammy. See? It's two spots away from the grafitti and right next to this double-parking douche. She's gone. Someone stole my Baby!" "Dean, calm down, I'm sure it didn't- uh hi, yeah?" Sammy was cut off when a guy tapped his shoulder. The guy was wearing jeans and two flannels, he had dark hair and he was barefoot.
"Hey." The guy said, in what can only be described as a bedroom voice. "Uhm. Hi? I'm sorry, do I know you?" Sam said. The guy's eyebrows raised. "Well, I'd like to think so. You've only been riding me for years."
Dean's eyebrows raised.
Sam nearly choked. "Uh, Wh-ha??- "
-----
Once the situation was cleared up, it was almost funny. The guy wasn't really a guy at all. He was.. the Impala. Those witch-bitches? Yeah. They magicked his frikkin' car. Dean was not happy. Sam still thought it was kinda funny. When they asked him what they should call him, he'd said he liked it when Dean called him 'Baby' and they should just call him that, and he'd winked, which gave Dean that moment of bi panic he always had which Sam found hilarious.
They'd jacked a car and gone back to the Bunker, where they called Cas, because honestly, what were they supposed to do with this?
They'd started looking for some way to reverse the spell, but with the witches already dead, most ways to reverse a spell were out of reach. Rowena was currently on a stretch of 'being dead' so they didn't call her. (At this point, nobody believed it when Rowena, or Gabriel, or Crowley was dead. There was this unspoken rule though, not to contact someone if they were 'dead' unless it was an apocalypse-size emergency)
Sam piped up about the fact that they hadn't even asked Baby if he wanted to get changed back, and Dean shut him up about it.
-----
Then someone mentioned something about how Dean was such a womanizer and Baby said something that would have some.. repercussions. "Oh I remember that... You haven't had sex in my backseat in quite some time, Dean. It's a shame, I would have loved to see you and the Angel. You have a bed now, of course, but I do miss it."
Baby didn't realise everyone had stopped moving untill he looked up again. "Why are you staring at me? I thought we got past that part."
-----
"What do you mean you're 'not like that'? Dean Winchester I have personally witnessed you being had by more than a few drunken mistakes worth of men in my backseat, don't you dare get biphobic on yourself. Have you and Cas really not gotten together yet? You both love eachother and Lord knows you find him attractive. What's the issue exactly, it's been years for Chuck's sake."
Now everyone was staring at Dean. Who was kinda sorta maybe turning incredibly red and tried to play it off with humor. "Uh. Not cool, Baby. You can't just out someone like that, and add the fact that I'm a bottom. This is betrayal, you know." He said, and nodded.
"Dean..?" Sam tried. "Sammy, just... I know, okay?"
"Dean... " Cas said deeply. "I-.. I know, Cas, I'm sorry, I never-" and oh.
-----
Sam could handle a little making out, but he's fairly sure he was gonna need ear bleach for the sounds that happened when Dean and Cas stumbled to Dean's room, joined at the lips.
Taglist: @ldthegreen
(yes we're imagining John Barrowman as Baby okay)

A few months ago, my copy of the "Limited Edition" Samurai Flamenco Complete Series Collection shipped from the UK, a release by Anime Limited.
As they are a UK-based anime distributor, their Blu-Ray discs are region locked to region code "B," which encompasses Europe. As such, I have a Blu-Ray player that is modified to be region-free, playing discs from anywhere in the world. I recommend buying one from this site, as you can get the best deals here.
Going over the product, despite the fact that it's labeled "Limited Edition," the release is pretty bare bones. It was also initially released back in October of 2021, and still remains available to purchase two years later.
Like most of Anime Limited's Collector's Editions, the release comes in a rigid slipcase illustrated with official artwork. The 22-episode anime is contained across 4 discs, evenly divided into two disc cases. Each case has a reversible slipcover illustrated with characters on both sides.
So let's talk about the contents of the discs. Although it doesn't say on the official website, there are three ways to watch the anime on this release: the French dub, the original Japanese with French subs, and the original Japanese with English subs (subtitles are the same as streaming, no subbed OPs/EDs/insert songs). These are a nice variety of options, but it would have been nice for a few more accessibility options for those who want it, such as the French dub having (dub-accurate) subtitles, and subtitles for those who are deaf or blind, as included with Anime Limited's release of "Looking for Magical Doremi" that I purchased earlier last year. There are a few extras on the discs, but those are just noncredit/blank versions of both opening and both ending themes.
Regarding the visuals, it should be noted that, when Samurai Flamenco aired on TV, it looked quite rough animation-wise. For the home media release in Japan, they made significant touchups here and there in each episode. From what I recall, the version that used to stream on Crunchyroll (before they removed it) was the original broadcast, while the one that streams/ed(?) on Funimation has the corrections. As there were quite a lot of corrections, I will link this post that does a in-depth look episode-by-episode of what changed between the two versions. Going back to Anime Limited's release, based on what I have seen and compared, I can safely say that this release uses the corrected footage, which I think most people can say is quite the plus.
I also want to clarify that this release does not contain any of the extras included with the Japanese home media release, such as the character drama CDs, soundtrack CDs, etc. All you're getting is a slipcase, the discs themselves, and creditless OPs and EDs. That's it.
To wrap it all up, despite the fact that this is a bare bones release, it is still a serviceable way to watch Samurai Flamenco. The anime has been taken off streaming services in the past few years, Netflix and Crunchyroll specifically, and as Manglobe went bankrupt years ago, the anime's future on streaming is bleak and uncertain. Anime Limited managed to secure a home release deal with Manglobe before they went under, so I've heard. Therefore, I definitely recommend owning a physical way to watch this underrated gem. Even so, Anime Limited has noted on their website that, as a limited edition release, they only have a limited number of stock, and once that runs out, they are not sure if they'll restock. So while it's been around for two years now, who can say for sure if it'll be around for any longer. On their website, it currently sells for £35 (approx $44.50 USD), but last year, Anime Limited held two sales that included this release, where in one sale, it went for as low as £8.33 (approx $10.50 USD). So, I also recommend you wait until their end-of-year holiday sale, I think it'll still be around then.
Anime Limited does ship internationally, but I want to warn you that there is a hefty international shipping charge attached. As I live in the US, it costs £25 (approx $32 USD), but I imagine that to more distant countries, it will cost a lot more.

Good omens x OFMD crossover in the style of good omens
It was not a dark and stormy night.
On the contrary, our story begins on a fair and balmy tropical evening. A certain demon with dark-red hair carefully maintained in a fashionable ponytail and circular black glasses was in a citrus mood - bitter, but much improved by the addition of strong liquor.
Normally, he might conjure up a good, thick storm. They were fantastic in this part of the world, with rain so dense that there was always a danger of accidentally walking into the ocean and not even realising it.
But tonight was not a night for a good storm-conjuring. For the last few years, he had been keeping a low profile. The Big Bosses Below weren’t very pleased with him, but he had been trying very hard not to think too much about all that.
He was currently guzzling gin at The Bar That Has No Food, not to be confused with its neighbour, The Bar That Has No Tables, or its predecessor, The Bar That Has No Gin. (Instead of gin, they served only a very potent, occasionally deadly homemade coconut liquor which tasted suspiciously of boot varnish.)
He had not chosen the establishment by accident. Even whilst keeping a low profile, he had a few tricks up his sleeve. You don’t spend almost six thousand years on Earth without learning a thing or two about humankind. For example, Crowley knew that if you hung around in a dingy backwater for long enough, a certain sort of person will eventually saunter through.
“Big Crow?” bellowed a voice from across the room. A glass was placed on a table, purulent liquid sloshing out of it. Footsteps creaked over to him, the voice continuing, “Is that you? Fuck me, I never thought I’d see you again!”
Right on schedule.
Crowley turned around to find a man whose face was well concealed behind an enormous greying beard and copious amounts of hair to match. A smirk pulled on Crowley’s lips as he stood and was immediately choked by a strong bear hug.
“Blackbeard! Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes? Seems you’ve been busy - your name is on everyone’s lips.”
“Aye, thanks mate,” Blackbeard let go, and the demon heaved in a breath, “you’re too nice. But how’ve you been? What in God’s name are you doing here?”
“I can assure you, God has nothing to do with it,” which was true. “Have a drink, sit down, fill me in on what you’ve been up to.”
Perhaps some background might be useful at this point. The year was 1717, or as future amateur media creators would dub it, the ‘Golden Era of Piracy’, which, whilst cheesy, is more or less an accurate title. Crowley and Blackbeard had met five years prior when Crowley’s newly re-formed corporeal vessel had been found unconscious floating past Blackbeard’s ship. The crew had thought he was ‘on the verge of death’.
The opposite was closer to the truth.
It was just like Hastur to send his new body to the middle of the ocean when everyone knew these things took a few days to boot up.
Thus, he had sailed for a month or so with the pirate crew and had taken rather a liking to it. As it turns out, demons are quite good at the whole ‘raiding, looting and burning stuff’ lifestyle. It’s in the job description.
“You haven’t changed one bit, eh, Big Crow?” said Blackbeard, slapping him heartily on the back. Crowley’s gin leapt out of his tattered mug. Annoyed by the mess on his trousers, he willed the liquid back the way it had come. Blackbeard was too busy downing his pint-sized portion with worrying speed to notice the reversal of entropy, “Me, well, look at all this grey! Pretty soon they won’t be able to call me Blackbeard!”
“Oh, don’t say that. D’you know how rare it is for a pirate to live long enough to have grey hairs? Count yourself lucky. What are you sailing these days anyway? Still with the Mermaid’s Dream?”
“Nah, she sank not long after you left. Gaping great hole in the hull that should’ve sunk us long before. Crazy story actually - you’ll never guess what was blocking it up…” he raised his eyebrows, eyes widening.
“Dead squids,” the demon replied without missing a beat.
Blackbeard gaped at him, “How in the name of Jesus’ bollocks did you fucking guess that? No, wait, don’t tell me. You must’ve heard it from Spanish Jackie, huh? That gal, always sharing the good stories before I can tell ‘em.”
The demon did not deign to inform him that he had been the source of the miraculous hole-plugging squid situation and that it had nothing to do with the bollocks of Christ in the least. There had been an evening involving a large anchor, too much alcohol and an accidental shape-shifting. When the water started rushing in - well, what was a demon supposed to do in that kind of situation?
“Yes, er, Jackie told me…Anyway, shame about the ship. I liked that crew.”
“I did too. It is a shame…” Ed’s eyes misted over as he gazed into the distance, a happy drunken smile of nostalgia creeping in.
After a minute or two, he shook himself, seemed to realise where he was, and turned his attention back to Crowley. “So, what brings you to this festering shithole?”
“You mean aside from the delightful aura, the pleasant company and the unique culture?”
A dollop of possibly-alive green mould chose that moment to fall, with a schlorp, directly into Crowley’s drink. He blessed under his breath. Trust the Big Guy to have a sense of humour.
Nose wrinkling, he placed his mug on the table and pushed it away.
“I’m looking for an angel.”
Blackbeard laughed, “Aren’t we all?”
The demon waited, expression dead serious, for the full four minutes it took for Ed’s giggling to subside and a look of disbelief to cross his features instead, “Oh shit, you’re serious. Why are you serious?”
“This particular angel has been kidnapped by the French.”
“When you say angel…”
“Celestial being, about, oh - I’d say six thousand years old, give or take a few centuries, big white fluffy wings. Y’know. Angel. Why, what did you think I mean?”
“Oh, er…yup, that’s more or less what I had in mind.”
“Excellent. Well, as I said, this angel’s been kidnapped by the French.”
“Seriously?”
“Yes, seriously. Look, mate, matey - materooney, I wouldn’t normally ask you this, and I know it’s not right, seeing as I’m the one who owes you a favour for fishing me out the ocean when I was half-alive that one time, but is there any teensy tiny possibility that you might be interested in a rescue operation?”
“Did you just ask me if I would help you with a rescue mission?”
“Yes.”
“Me? Blackbeard? Unbeaten pirate captain?”
“Yes… So is that a yes?”
“Well of course it fucking is! Anything for an old friend like you, Big Crow. Besides, the mighty Blackbeard does not back down from a challenge!”
This was not correct. Just the night before, the mighty Blackbeard had backed down from a challenge. The strong-liquor-induced kind of challenge that a meddling crew member might suggest in the attempt to get the two co-captains of The Revenge to stop ‘pining after each other’. The kind of challenge that involved a spinning bottle, and a presumed consequence should said bottle land on someone seated around a circle.
Needless to say, the mighty Blackbeard had run away, and rather fast at that, and had instead proceeded to drink most of the day away. Perhaps the events of the previous night, or just the sheer appeal of a dangerous adventure, contributed to his enthusiasm. Either way, Crowley was surprised by how easily he got the infamous Pirate Captain Edward Teach to agree to help him rescue Aziraphale.
Several gins later (Crowley had willed his to about three times their normal strength, as immortal beings need about that much more than mortal ones to have the same effect) and the pirate captain was a staggering mumbling mess. But Blackbeard was a man of his word and Crowley trusted him when he promised to bring the demon to meet the crew the next day.
If Crowley had his way, and he would, it wouldn’t be long before he was reunited with his oldest enemy. He only had to convince a pirate crew to take on a rather large, well-armed French naval vessel. What could possibly go wrong?

Master List in AO3 Popularity Order
And a collection of thoughts from my brain under the cut.
Lavender Memories [SasuHina]
Wheels [SasuHina]
What He Left Behind [SasuHina]
Testing Success [SasuHina]
Lavender Sand [GaaHina]
Lavender Clouds [SasuHina]
Lavender Umbrellas [KisaHina]
Death Wishes [ItaHina]
I Will Love You [SasuHina]
Bread and Tea [SasuHina]
FF | AO3
~Always a Happy Ending~ ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ It's always so interesting to see what the audience likes the most. I think what wins out is domestic fluff, which is great because I love to write so I will write more for you. >w<
Lavender Memories has always been the core favorite, and it does hold a special place in my heart. (Though uploading the flashbacks in italics is a massive pain in the ass) I really wish I could make reverse Memories work (with Sasuke losing his memories instead). If anyone wants to comment/dm/asks me for ideas to make that work without Sasuke being toxic that I will take suggestions. Every time I have tried to write it, Sasuke just ends up pissing me off.
Wheels was just pure fluff and sweet scenes in my heart, and I didn't want it to end, but there is only so far I can go with stories with no real angst to drive the plot. I am completely open to writing bonus chapters for it, again, toss suggestions my way of what you want to see.
What He Left Behind is weird for me because it's always a struggle when I have a well-liked character as an antagonist because I am not a fan of people bashing the characters in the comments even when the character is doing something wrong, but this story needed Naruto to walk out for the concept to work. I appreciate that people like it, but I am not sure I will do something divorce based ever again. Writing Sasuke a green flag, I will do again, though.
Testing Success has been compared to a K-Drama on more than one occasion, and I am *here* for it. Though the amount of people shipping Fugaku with Hinata really tells me I need to write an ItaHina or SasuHina with a CEO x Assistant relationship because it's clearly wanted. Probably an ItaHina because of how many people were shipping ItaHina hard before Sasuke showed up. I have a bad habit of making side characters have good relationships with one of my main couple of characters and then making a whole new fic on that dynamic. 💀💀💀 Don't worry, I ship it too >.<
Lavender Sand, my GaaHina baby. I love how awkward Gaara is, and this fic has some of my favorite scenes. I have always wanted to make more GaaHina, but it's hard to not rehash a lot of what I did here. I am currently working on another GaaHina that should have a different enough setup that it won't just be Sand 2 - The Remake.
Lavender Clouds was my first ever fic T-T. It recently underwent a massive overhaul (wow, I was bad at writing). Looking back now, I think that I should have made the end game couple different. SasuHina was my thing at the time, but I made so many wonderful side ships in this story (that have been the bases of my new stories, so win-win), but I were to do it again today, the end ship would have probably been SasoHina, and I would have probably leaned a lot more into the initial ItaHina that was happening. Would anyone be interested in me releasing a SasoHina 'what could have been' side story? I am working on more unreleased Akatsuki member x Hinata stories right now. 👀👀👀 (SasoHina, HidaHina, more ItaHina)
Writing Lavender Umbrellas makes my face hurt from smiling so much. I love the dynamic Kisame and Hinata have, and I love how their personalities mesh. Height difference tropes and big scary boi with small sweet girl tropes have my whole heart. Having the Akatsuki as a bunch of teenagers makes for endlessly entertaining scenes. This story is so much cute fluff I never want it to end.
Death Wishes is darker than I initially meant it to be (I say as a story about a girl who is being followed around by death), but it feels oddly comfy to me, and I want to make so many more ItaHina fics, but I always come up for ideas for SasuHina instead >.<. I think Itachi is just too kind for me to have enough drama to keep stories going. More ItaHina to come, though. (That ItaHina office AU has to happen at some point)
I Will Love You - the new one. This is a fun concept I am excited to explore. I am going to try to make it not cross too many paths with Testing Success. The idea of Sasuke's actions being constantly unclear, how much he's playing it up, and how much he means will be fun. It will make the point of where the relationship slides from fake to real a fun find, especially on a second read.
Bread and Tea is proof that even in a one-shot, I can't just let the characters have happy lives. A good friend @nikandrros said it best that she opens it up and thinks, "How is Lavender going to torture Hinata in her new story?" but I always promise a happy ending, and it's all the sweeter with a little bit of painful backstory. I have had requests to continue this one shot, and I will leave that open to do one day, but I have no plans at the moment.
Alright, end of keyboard mash. Have a good day, read a good ship, and thank you for all the support! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
More fic to come!

Hey, could you please do a reading on who Hyunjin’s twin flame is? Similar to the future spouse one. Hope that’s okay with you.
Have a lovely day💖💫
Excited to do this one! Have a good day too!
*Disclaimer: solely for fun! Please do not take this seriously. For entertainment purposes only!*
Past: 9 of swords, 8 of wands, gazelle, turtle
Someone has something they need to get off of their chest. It's driving them absolutely nuts. I think they know each other. Someone could owe the other an apology. Whatever happened caused this whole thing to end. This may have been friend ship. It's more friend vibes than romantic... Anyway, the situation required slow timing. Things were in the works here and someone could have just rushed it and it blew up in their face causing the other to walk away from them. It was too much for the other to handle. It was getting out of hand.
Present: queen of wands (reversed), judgement, hen, hermit crab
Currently, they have a little bit of an ego. May be too much pride. They are thinking about whether or not they should apologize. They want to but it's like they have this unwillingness to submit and admit defeat here. They want to keep their tough and strong anterior. They don't want the other to know they are weak or have a soft spot for them. It would ruin their weird facade they have to the whole outside world. Someone could have treated the other poorly. Kind of like put them down a lot to make themselves feel better.
Future: ace of cups, 7 of wands, boar
They are invested in this connection. They are putting their whole being into it. But this was destined to end for a reason. They were not meant to be in each other's life for more than a season. This was not something built to last. They are not soulmates (duhh lmao). The destruction of this relationship was so they could rebuild and restart a new. So they can make themselves better. That was the whole point of this, that's the whole point of a twin flame connection!
Bottom of the deck: 2 of wands, shadow person
Again, this person is debating apologizing. They really feel sorry and regretful for how this whole thing went down. They are being guided to look inward and do the work. Not to mention accepting a lot of the things they cannot change. I see them doing the exact opposite of that and burying themselves in work! Whoever you are,,,,go do your inner work or the universe is just going to keep sending you through this cycle! Get it together, bro!
*Oracle deck was also used!

YIPPEEEEE!!! 🐥 anon here— MORE WORLD BUILDING!!! AND OCS!!!! 🤭
So as established, mechs can join these rebellious colonies, but its only through a specific trial that mimics the human experience as it relates to mech- in a role reversal. Mechs who want to be accepted into these societies must “traverse the path through hell to reach the gates of heaven.” In which a mech/femme must traverse through the heart of the colony— the (domesticated) scraplet colony. It’s to induce that same surrender of self that humans often have to perform when they are being consumed and tasted. That is why its mechs and femmes who are often on the lower castes who are more likely to succeed in such a task: when your whole life you are taught that your existence is to serve another, and that you can be easily discarded, this test is easy. Its the more egotistical and self centered bots who are more likely to fail: to spend one’s whole life distancing yourself away from the reality that one is not invincible and is just as likely to be consumed as a human or scraplet in the currents of life can be a realization too great for some. Outsiders are surprised to find out that a mech’s quality of life is often better than their own, despite a lack of power that most outsiders are accustomed to.
I also like to think that the human population also have to undergo trials as well: to establish themselves both as adults and as citizens of their society. Humans when they reach the right age (19-20) may be sent off to survive on their own for 3-5 years both as a way to let them experience the world outside their viking/spartanlike society and to spread their craft and message of balance and power. Officially, these travelers aren’t supposed to ask for help if they are in trouble (seen as almost offensive to families as they may be seen raising “weak” children), but it’s an almost open secret that mechs, too attached to their human companions, will without hesitation come to the rescue if someone needs help. Many people and mechs turn a blind eye to this phenomenon.
I have 3 ocs (old transformers ocs that I dusted off for this au) :
One human named “Coda.” Sent off as per tradition to survive and grow up in the chaotic currents of life. She misses her family dearly, but she has her scraplets and her state of survival to distract her. Currently hiding and living in a voyaging ship carting mostly mechs, but a few unlucky humans. Empathetic and often tries to help fellow humans, with mixed results. Wears red for cultural reasons.
A Mech called “Ballad.” Lives aboard a ship and trying to leave his old life behind. Was about to be murdered but was rescued by a mysterious human in red. Notices reports of humans missing or fighting back. Is trying to befriend his savior, to mixed results. Doesn’t agree with the practice of “tasting” for personal reasons.
Another Mech called “Requiem.” Dear friend of Coda, often secretly checks up on Coda and makes sure she knows she can count on him for help. Ex of Ballad. If he knew Coda was with Ballad he will pullup and have a custody battle right then and there. Knew Coda before he was accepted into her colony, and worries that her bleeding heart will be the death of her.
BROOOOOO THESE ARE SO SICK!!!!! I love this sort apocalyptic vibe to the culture of humanity now it’s so well thought out and amazing! Man it’s fulfilling all my dreams of having a “borrower” scenario but with humans taking from larger beings rather than borrowers/tiny people taking from humans HAHA. Your OC concepts sound so cool too, it’s awesome how you were so inspired to revamp them just for this AU!!!
Thank you for sharing, this was incredible!!!

Katherine’s OFMD Fic Masterlist
I decided to put this together because I’m avoiding writing the last chapter of my reverse big bang, and I’ve had this on my to-do list since... *mumbles*. Isn’t it amazing how productive you can be about stuff when you’re avoiding doing something else?
Below the cut, you’ll find all of my (Dialects_and_Costumes on Ao3) Gentlebeard OFMD fics with their ratings and their summaries. The fics are sorted from most to least recent! NOTE: Fics with M and E ratings contain sexually explicit content, so while the body of this post is SFW, those links will not be.
Chapter-Length Fics

Between the Sand and the Stardust (Complete, Rated E) Written for the OFMD Reverse Big Bang, featuring art from @poorlyformed
Stede Bonnet has lived next to the Wall his whole life, and he's never crossed it before. No one has. It's the Wall.
But then a star falls.
On the opposite side of the Wall.
And it's time for Stede to have an adventure.
let it rain, ‘cause you and I remain the same (Complete, Rated E)
Fuckeries run rampant when a man puts out to sea.
Be it magic, an act of one god or of several, or a phenomenon purely created by those who venture forth on the unfathomable waves of the deep, the ocean keeps all those who traverse her narrow currents at her tempestuous mercy. Many a sailor has fallen victim to her deceptive pliancy; many a sailor has ignored the augurs in her violent seafoam.
For Stede Bonnet, the fuckery comes from a single-minded focus to find his way across the endless waters. He doesn't hear the warning cry, doesn't see the jibing boom swinging viciously towards the back of his skull, he just feels a black hole of pain before there’s no pain, just black.
For Edward Teach, it's a bottle to the head.
Stand to Face Me, Beloved (Complete, Rated E) Written for the OFMD Big Bang 2022, featuring art from @poorlyformed
Time has run out for Blackbeard and his crew when the Revenge is taken by the fearsome Captain Anne Bonny and Captain Mary Read. As Edward adjusts to life aboard Captain Read's ship, he learns Stede Bonnet has died. Ed navigates his grief as Anne and Mary continue to flee from the dogged pursuit of the English Navy, and right as the Navy swoops them up, Stede Bonnet sails back into Ed's life. Together, he and Stede build their way back to trusting one another as they plan a daring raid to rescue Mary and Anne.
I'll follow the echoes (Complete, Rated E)
When the Revenge is in need of some extreme maintenance that leaves the ship and its crew stuck in Nassau for a month, Ed finds himself returning to the piano at a small bar in town far away from anyone who knows him.
One-shots
waiting to see us once beautiful and brave (Rated E)-part 1 of “the princess Ed cinematic universe”, featuring art by @poorlyformed
"What did you want to be when you were young, my love?"
"I wanted to be a princess."

He's gone.

you know you wanna give 'em one more chance (Rated G)
Ed hasn't forgiven Stede yet, but that doesn't stop Stede from giving Ed pearls.
plunge me deep (Rated E)
After months living and breathing as the Kraken every night, Ed comes back to land.
in the winter wind, be my warm (Rated T)
When the Revenge sails north to escape a bounty on Jim's head, Stede learns to appreciate the snow through Ed's eyes.
And as I go along, I want you with me (Rated E)
Ed gives himself a tattoo to remember Stede by, and Stede likes it. A lot.
sin is sacred again (Rated E)
“Is this—is this new?” Stede reaches up, and touches the tip of a tentacle brushing hair away from his face. Yeah. Since—yeah. It’s new. It aches to hear the clipped way Ed’s voice echoes in his head. It aches even more to know he could have prevented it by finding this new strain of courage a few days sooner than he did. “Since I left.” The tentacles holding him steady in the water don’t tighten or relax in any way, but they begin to tremble. Since you left.
a mile of clean sand (Rated E)
It's an accident when Stede finds Ed again.
