This earns him his first ever taste of A-List Celeb Status. He is on the cover of magazines, not just business and fashion: Gossip magazines. Tabloids. People recognize him and want his autograph. Paparazzi follow him to lunch dates with friends.

They want to know his favorite color, cereal brand, ice cream flavor, and not because they want to be billionaires like him (poor little nepo baby) but because they love him so much they want to know every little detail of his life.

He is given the title of heartthrob over and over again (and I mean look at him, ofc he is)

He despises it with every cell in his body.

BUT he keeps working for this one luxury tailor brand until his contract ends. Maybe two or three years?

He has a good relationship with them, still. Wears their suits mostly, recommends it to friends if they need a new one. But he’s decided it’s not for him anymore.

Now. Every year, during New York Fashion Week, Bruce is invited to walk in their show. (This brand gives all of their ambassadors the opportunity.) Sometimes, he says yes. Sometimes, he doesn’t.

He refuses for a few years (during his vengeance era) until Bruce Wayne changes and decides to make more appearances. NY Fashion Week comes around, and Bruce returns for one (1) show.

Why "The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck"'s Message Doesn't Work

Ducktales 2017 is one of my favorite cartoons of all time and used to be my No. 1 favorite until I saw TOH, but I still hold a very deep love for the show, especially when it comes to a lot of the character writing. That being said, the show…isn’t perfect, and I think the third season has a few problems that make it weaker than the first two (though I’ll have to finish rewatching the season to be fully sure).

The Life and Crimes of Scrooge Mcduck especially isn’t a particularly good episode with how it handles it’s whole message about "accepting responsibility for your actions" and in this post I’m going to analyze why it falls apart.

As I said before, this episode’s message that its trying to send is that you should take responsibility for your actions rather than make excuses for it. The premise of the episode is that Scrooge and Louie are transported to a magical courtroom thingy where Scrooge is accused of being responsible for Glomgold, Ma Beagle and Magica’s turn to villainy, and Louie has to prove Scrooge innocent.

The episode has Glomgold and Beagle show proof of how Scrooge "made them evil" and Louie refuting those claims, proving Scrooge’s innocence…until Magica comes along and shows her first time facing Scrooge, where, he ended up getting Magica to accidentally turn her brother into a bird and refused to catch him for her, leading Magica to lose her brother forever and never be able to find him.

The show treats this as a big moment where, Louie CAN’T defend Scrooge here, being an example where Scrooge DID have a part in one of his enemies turning evil because of him, and after that, he says that he might have some influence on each of his enemies becoming evil…

…except for the fact that Scrooge did not make Magica evil. Scrooge had no effect on Magica turning evil; Magica was already directly shown to be evil to begin with, mainly with how she and her brother…ya know…literally in slaved a town into giving their goods to them and then made a spell that attracted money directly to them?

Was Scrooge not catching Po a dick move? Yes. Does that mean he is inherently responsible for Magica turning evil? No, because Magica was already evil to begin with and Scrooge changed nothing about her.

Same thing goes for the other villains as well, who the episode also tries to say that Scrooge might’ve had an influence in becoming evil as well after saying the exact opposite up until this point…?

Scrooge is not responsible for turning Glomgold or Ma Beagle evil either, Scrooge was trying to give good advice to Glomgold, its not Scrooge’s fault Glomgold was a brat, and Scrooge won the wrestling match far and square, and, like the episode shows, Ma Beagle was also always a brat from the start.

So the episode’s message of accepting responsibility for your actions doesn’t work because Scrooge was not responsible for any of them turning evil, they were ALWAYS bad people from the start.

The same thing applies to Louie who the episode has learn this same message, with him accepting responsibility for how his actions might have hurt Doofus Drake, which would be fine if it weren’t for the fact that Doofus was shown to a spoiled brat from the beginning and the first time him and Louie met he literally tried making him his "best friend".

I’m sorry, is Louie seriously supposed to apologize to Doofus for getting his parents to grow a spine discipline him just a tincy bit? Cuz I don’t think so.

Really, The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck has a decent message on paper but it falls apart when you actually think about it for more than five minutes. The episode has other issues like introducing a major revelation near the end of the show, or just how underwhelming it is as the penultimate episode of the show which just further solidifies it as my least favourite episode of the show, but this is the biggest issue with it to me.

So ya, that’s why this episode’s lesson doesn’t work…goodbye.

I'm a fan of your yandere games and I just recently found out about your Tumblr account while hunting for fandoms of your games X3 I just finished playing Solipsism Reigns after letting it just sit there somewhere on my laptop for a whole year cuz I got attached to Kuro XD Ik your hands are already full from the amount of visual novels you've been creating so far but would you consider re-creating SR if you can? Yeeeeah, I mean, I don’t know for sure cos I’ve never looked, but I can’t imagine there's much in the way of fandoms for any of my games since they tend to fly under the radar x3 (my own fault for being incapable of using social media to promote stuff, I know T_T haha)

Since my following is mainly concentrated on itch I guess maybe that doesn’t help since other devs tend to post stuff in places like this and interact with people more. Heck, one of my supporters was even kind enough to make me a Discord server, which is incredible! But even with that, I struggle to use it regularly cos I can’t cope with live conversations very well >.< My social processing power is extremely limited T_T

The most frustrating thing is that I would like to be more active with social stuff, I just can’t handle it very well thanks to my ASD :( It only takes a little bit of social media for me to become completely overwhelmed and have to force myself to come off it so I don’t shut down, haha. It sucks.

That’s so cool you played SR :D my original baby, haha. It looks so old now T_T Every time I see it on my itch dashboard I end up thinking of all the things I would change now I have more experience as a dev! It makes me a happy bunny to hear that you got attached to Kuro though ^-^

Funnily enough... I had already planned to remake SR at some point :D 

As much as the project will always have a special place in my heart with it being my first-ever VN, there are many things about it that bother me too, haha. 

My hope is to eventually remake it from scratch (I kinda have no choice in that anyhow since I no longer have the old Tyranobuilder project files x3) in Naninovel :3 Cos I know Tyrano was kinda clunky >.< In Nani, I could make it all work more smoothly + add more in the way of visual FX and stuff too.

On top of that though, I plan to go over all of my writing because there’s sooooo much I’m not happy with (mainly glaring at the student route >.>) + with any luck add an entirely new route as well that I cut from the original release due to a lack of time to write it properly when I found out Kuro’s VA was going to be moving to another country and putting voice acting on hold, haha. 

There was also a BxG version in the works that’s currently on hold but features redesigned sprites by LazyPolarBear + CGs for a male protagonist x fem Kuro.

I’m not sure what I want to do about the music in the project because I feel like I chose the tracks well to fit the game, BUT, I’ve heard those same tracks in soooo many other people’s games now that I kind of hate that I used so much from Incompetch, haha. Kevin’s music is incredible, but since it’s very generously free to use, it does mean it’s kind of overused in games >.< I didn’t have any other option at the time cos I couldn’t make my own music and I didn’t have any money to buy asset packs.

Now that I tend to create my own OSTs, it would seem kind of insane not to make one for SR in the process of a proper remake. It’s just it would require me to make a lot of tracks x3 I’ll probably give it a go though + maybe keep a handful of Kevin’s ones that I really like too much to let go of, haha.

So yeah, my hope is to eventually remake the original otome version of SR in a different engine with edited + new writing, some new art, new UI, new FX, possibly an OST, and I guess new VA to go with the new writing :D 

I don’t really know when because I need to finish CiQ, DD, and Blue Blythe’s route in Bitter/Sweet before I tackle any more long-term projects x3 So it won’t be any time soon. Once I’ve managed to finish all of those though, I’ll probably make it my next long-term priority project :3

I’m genuinely flattered that you actually liked SR enough to even ask this! It always amazes me when anyone leaves a positive word about SR because I assumed that it had kinda just been lost to the sands of time at this point xD I know it’s definitely showing its age, haha. It’s nice to know there are still people out there who are willing to give it a chance if they happen to come across it somehow ^-^

I feel like my games are probably rarely talked about in general, haha. I mean, since I’m a fan of yandere games and play them myself, I do lurk in some communities + sometimes look at recs threads other people post to get ideas for things to add to my own playlist, and it’s not often that I see any of my games mentioned on recs or being discussed x3

I always kinda hope it’s cos people don’t know they exist rather than it being a case of them thinking they’re not worthy of mentioning xD Either way isn’t exactly great though I guess, haha. 

I just can’t promote stuff for the life of me cos I find it too overwhelming & exhausting + I don’t really have the self-confidence to try and put my games in front of people anyways cos I always feel like what I make isn’t good enough >.< I’m basically 100% reliant on other people sharing my games for anyone to even discover them x3 Either that or searching the yandere tag on itch, but even then, they might be kinda hard to locate cos they’re not super near the top since I don’t get as many people rating my games as other devs do. SR is my oldest game and it doesn’t even have 100 ratings yet on itch xD

If you search the yandere tag on itch and sort by ‘top rated’ 14 Days With You is first with a whopping 1238 total ratings as of searching right now while I type this… my first game to appear is Darling Duality as the 13th result with a mere 427 ratings by comparison, haha. And I’m pretty sure DD only got rated that much because of Manly’s video x3 Bitter/Sweet is next with only 228 total ratings by comparison.

I know people can just click on my itch profile if they happen to find and like 1 of my games and maybe want to see if I’ve made others, but a lot of people don’t realise you can do that, or they don’t know that I primarily make games with yanderes in x3 So they just go unnoticed.

Heck, Dawn of the Damned is related to Darling Duality, and even though DD is my most popular project, I can’t seem to get people to check out Dawn of the Damned, haha. At this point, the tiny demo for DD has 44.7k downloads (this still blows my mind o.o), and yet despite Dawn of the Damned being a completed project and set in the same universe featuring future DD characters, it only has 4036 total downloads as of today x3 If I can’t get the majority of my own followers to check out a game I made that’s set in the same universe, I have no hope of getting them to find my other yandere stuff T_T and even less hope of getting my games in front of people who have never heard of me as a dev, haha.

I’ve even had a handful of people tell me that they think Apartment No.9 is my best game, and that Doyle is their favourite ever yandere guy, but the project only has 3680 downloads x3

But yeah, my analytics on itch are really skewed cos pretty much all the numbers are for Darling Duality and my Yandere Heaven fandub. I may have somehow managed to get a fair few followers on there over the years, but I think probably something like 90% of them (possibly even more than that) are waiting for DD and aren’t interested in my other projects.

My poor Yandere Heaven fandub has received some attention (in fact, it’s actually beating DD on total downloads somehow), but there has been a lot of negativity + a looooot of 1* and 2* bad ratings on itch because, for some reason, people don’t realise it’s a fandub even though I put that very clearly on the page T_T So they rate the game badly with comments saying the story sucks, or that having no choices is stupid, the characters are dumb, or that it’s too goofy and OTT. None of which is even my fault since I’m trying to faithfully recreate the original content. All I wanted to do was make a Japanese drama CD into a VN fandub game >.< haha. 

I can’t believe I’ve rambled so much anyhow xD I’m so sorry, haha. It’s just one of those things that causes me a lot of confusion x3 I know I can’t handle social media very well and I fail at promo, but I can’t understand why a majority of my projects receive so few views/downloads in comparison to DD >.< I can’t for the life of me figure out what’s so appealing about DD and not my other stuff, haha. Unless it’s literally just cos Manly played it x3

Ok so basically on Pinterest i started chatting with someone, I’ll call them Day, who I was a little concerned about since she has very black and white views on Fayrouz (a fictional villain) that I didn’t agree with, but I thought I could shove that to the side. Her views were either absolute hate for fayrouz, or simping. She doesn’t think Fayrouz is a well written, morally grey villain like I do.

Fayrouz’s story summarized, for context, is that she is a roboticist who got married to a co worker she loved but her need for control gave her the power in the relationship and her husband divorced her. She was so ashamed for what she did to her husband to the point she thought she could clear her conscious by building therapy robots. She ends up lying to them and abusing them by trying to control them in hopes they wouldn’t leave, but her robots left. By the end of the story so far she comes to terms with the fact she’s repeatedly messed everything up for herself. The story isn’t done, so I don’t know what she’s going to do next. Day also made chat ais of GHOST’s characters, privated them when I suggested to her that she should delete them, and then unprivated them later. GHOST, for context, is an online artist and vocaloid song producer who has publicly said he doesn’t want chat ais made of his characters due to the fact most of them are personifications of his trauma or have no stories behind them.

Day also made a villain oc that seemed like a typical villain except the oc was shipped with literal Hitler and Hitler was made to be a hero in the oc story, and I felt like she didn’t listen to my advice when I told her to change it to an oc instead of Hitler. She also told me she had an obsession with Hitler in the past. She also seemed unaware of the horrors of Nazism and how it affects people today. She also made an oc that was supposed to be the “god of all Jewish people“, but like Judaism and Christianity and Islam all share the same god so i felt like making a “god” for people who already have a god was disrespectful. Oh and this “god” character was somehow connected to Hitler and that oc so…

anyways so i blocked both her accounts bc I just couldn’t handle it anymore and then her friend messaged me asking why so I told her friend but I haven’t gotten a response back and I’m so scared cuz the kids in the GHOST fandom can be really weird, and Day isn’t the first kid I had to block.

Tsunade is a well-written character.

I have seen think piece after think piece on why she’s one of the worst written female characters in Naruto, and while Kishimoto needs a lot of work on his female characters, Tsunade is probably the best-written one out of all of them.

“She only exists to further Naruto’s narrative!”

Everyone in Naruto exists to further his narrative. Typically, all side characters exist to further the plot of the MC. In everything. In some way. That’s just how it is. Tsunade actually has other stuff to do in life though, and her entire existence doesn’t depend on Naruto on a day by day basis. She doesn’t base her own self-worth off of him in any fashion. She doesn’t hide behind him and let him do all the work. She contributes a shit ton.

“She got scared of blood and ran away from her duty just cuz some guy she liked died!”

No. 

1.) Naruto was created by a Japanese man, and has predominantly Japanese influence. That means their gods, superstitions, habits, and teachings are thoroughly entrenched in the Naruto Universe. Tsunade is superstitious, and in this fictional universe, bad omens like cracking teacups and falling photo frames are real hints that something bad has happened.

2.) The Shodaime died young, as shown by his Edo Tensei form. And then the Nidaime died young. She gave her grandfather’s necklace to her little brother, as a good luck charm, and he died not long after getting it. She gave it to her lover as a good luck charm, and he died not long after getting it, in a gruesome fashion. She develops a fear of blood as a result.

3.) Tsunade and the necklace are the common denominators and she takes the results as a sign that she is cursed with bad luck. She develops a severe fear of what this means and cannot bring herself to continue as she is. She’ll get someone else killed.

4.) Danzo and Hiruzen, both sucking so very much at leading a village, helped ruin her stance on the ideals of Konoha. From her standpoint in all she witnessed, the Will of Fire was bullshit and not worth defending. (And tbh the village in general is full of shitty people who really don’t deserve to be defended if they’re going to completely outcast a child for something beyond his control.)

So?

I get that drinking and gambling aren’t ‘feminine’ habits so we don’t see many women in fiction being involved in either very much, but it’s not a big deal. She’s a grown woman who has been to war, fought for her country, and saved countless lives. She’s in her 50s and has more than earned her weird vices.

How liking alcohol and gambling is considered a manly thing, I still don’t understand.

“She’s so vain she keeps herself young-looking!”

So?

She can use her own chakra to keep her body young. She doesn’t even have to get surgery. Why is this such a big deal? It isn’t as if she won’t stop funneling chakra into that purpose if she absolutely needs that excess chakra for something else. She’s done it many times. Her vanity doesn’t get in the way of duty when it calls for it.

She was never a liability to her teammates. Her vanity never got in the way of her training.

Besides, it’s funny how many people who praise a certain character despite her terrible vanity that gets in the way of everything, will shit on Tsunade.

“She needed a Talk no Jutsu in order to change!”

I know we all like to clown Naruto’s good guy, sunshine smiles way of handling things, but he puts a lot more into it than just a few words. Dude literally called her out where no one else dared to, held her to her word, protected and defended her at the cost of his own well-being, and inspired her.

Many of you out there would never do anything for someone else if there was no benefit to you first. And many people don’t act until they are personally affected by something. The difference is Tsunade is a traumatized soldier who already served her country and saved thousands of lives countless times through her efforts to improve the medical field. Comparing her not wanting to be Hokage, to some Karen who has never helped another person a day in her life, is an insult to her personal sacrifices and efforts.

I think Tsunade is very complex and very human, and she has one of my favorite stories in the entire Naruto Universe.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off Review:

(MAJOR SPOILERS)

I couldn’t fathom how much I was hyped for this series.

Not only is it an Anime adaptation of my favorite comic series, but the fact that the cast and crew of the 2010 movie were brought back on the project, and that Bryan Lee O’ Malley was brought as the showrunner and writer for the series, had me excited.

And so… was it worth the hype?….

Yes.

Everything about it was fucking amazing, tho the main thing I was surprised was how much it deviated from the source material, but to my surprise… the changes were done so well that I can’t help but love it.

For one, the story wasn’t your typical Scott Pilgrim urm… story, where Scott takes on the League Of Evil Exes in order to be with Ramona Flowers.

Instead it’s more of an alternate retelling where Scott “dies” (notice how I used quotation marks to describe it, but that will be explained later) after his first fight with Matthew Patel, and as a result, it sort of created this Butterfly Effect where everyone around him started to act differently and events that were usually part of the main canon have been altered.

Things such as Matthew Patel talking over Gideon Graves’ empire basically leaving Gideon without nothing and having to resort to living with Julie Powers, Young Neil wanting to write a script for a movie about what will happen if Scott didn’t die during his fight with Matthew Patel, and Knives Chau working with Stephen Stills to create music after Scott’s “death” (again notice the quotation marks that I’m using to describe it, which again, will be explained later, or wait… actually the next sentence will actually explain now).

However, Ramona Flowers would come to the realization that Scott Pilgrim is still alive.

Apparently contrary to popular belief, Scott didn’t actually die during his fight with Matthew Patel, instead he was transported to an unknown place by a mysterious being (which we’ll get into later).

So now, it’s up to Ramona to pull a Sherlock Holmes and figure out what happened to Scott and who would have taken him.

Along the way we get to know more about the Evil Exes as well as some of the other characters, basically fleshing them out as to more than what we know, and basically changing them into different caricatures of the characters that we usually known them for.

Eventually it culminates with Ramona figuring out who was responsible for teleporting Scott.

However in a surprising turn of events, Scott’s back, and while he does confirm that he was teleported by the Katayanagi Twins’ robot, he wasn’t actually taken by them, as was instead taken by…

His future self.

Yes, in the biggest plot twist of the century, the mysterious being that took Scott, was his future self, who took him in, in order for him to not get together with Ramona.

Eventually, it ends with Scott and Ramona defeating future Scott, and Ramona realizing that she’s been running away from the people who loved her, and decides that she’s done with that, ultimately keeping both her and Scott’s relationship perfectly intact.

And boy that was a lot wasn’t it, but I don’t wanna just end it there, obviously we gotta talk about the other aspects such as the Characters.

And man where the characters hella fun and good, not only are they still the same as we know them, but we actually get to see who they actually are then what we usually know, and this is especially apparent with the League Of Evil Exes.

The fact that we get to flesh out the League was something that I was not expecting, but after seeing how the handled it, it was really good and I can’t hate on it.

The addition of Future Scott actually surprised the fuck out of me, cuz I really was not expecting them to do something like that, but they did, and I can’t help but adore it.

In addition I need to talk about the music, especially the songs as well as the opening theme, those were especially bangers, and I can’t help but crack a smile and bop my head Everytime I listen to them.

(Especially again the opening intro as well as that cover of “I Will Remember You” cuz man those were fuckin amazing)

And you know I can’t forget about this but the animation was….

SPECTACULAR.

And obviously because it’s an Anime they gotta have the fluid expressions and movements, especially when it came to the fight scenes cuz holy shit they were FUCKING PHENOMENAL.

So overall I fucking loved the Anime, and while it did deviate from the original source material, the changes were justified and were probably done for the best especially for this version.

The only minor criticism I could provide is that they reused the same scene of Ramona changing her hair multiple times, but it minor anyways so that wasn’t a big of a deal.

But all in all, it’s still an amazing Anime.

“Hey.” Olivia skipped over. “Why aren’t you out there with him?”

“There’s…a lot of people here.” T sighed. “I’m not used to big family events like this. It’s always been just me and my mom.”

“So you don’t have cousins?” Olivia asked. “Or aunts or uncles?”

“Nope.” T shrugged. “My mom’s an only child.”

Olivia stared up at him. “That’s a little sad. It sounds so lonely.” She looked back out at the dance floor. “I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have two older brothers to bug all the time.”

“Yeah, well lucky for me, I’ve got a little pest of my own.” T rolled his eyes.

“Huh?”

“Nothing.”

I just read ur reblog for the “why is 18 the age where we’re considered adults?” Anon asked. And I’m currently 9teen there’s a lot of woes young adults face. But for some reason a lot of people’s answers to the challenges young adults face struggling to meet the threshold of maturity throughout history is to claim we aren’t responsible enough. Then the powers that be decide to make it harder for us to make our own decisions. limiting the autonomy of people considered younger. people in the past and in the modern era still consider the act of criminalizing common youthful actives in the common age of that time period to somehow be the most logical step to trying to cure a societal ill which doesn’t make sense to me.

But I do think it is unfair that legally a 56 and 46 year are not treated much differently by laws. like giving someone a ten year sentence could have unforeseeable consequences if they die at 60. I honestly don’t think I like that nature of law & order in general and i more want to meet people where they’re at. However I do find it disturbing that u can go to “adult” prison at the age of 8teen. Because even tho yes I do consider people over 8teen year olds capable of making many decisions in their lives. I personally know I’ve waited a long time to have my perspective finally taken seriously by older adults. It still seems nerve racking we put people into that environment at such a age.

When 8teen year olds to 25 year olds are still dealing with the possibility to adopt new experiences. When 8teen to 25 year old potentially are lacking a lot knowledge from experiences to come. And are still very much dealing with developmental changes (social and physical). Not many political systems take that into account. Especially since all people 18-25 don’t have much experiences to bounce off of expect for their teenage and childhood years. When someone gets kicked out at 8teen it’s not like they can just go to foster care (to my knowledge) . Honestly it’s kinda the same with foster care having ditched a lot kids once they turn 8teen.

There is societal pressure for everyone at every age but to a degree that’s kinda the problem too. Is there anything wrong with acknowledging the difference and treating someone who’s 8teen with the understanding that they’re 8teen differently. Like if someone felt they where groomed into sex work at 8teen I would want society to treat that situation somewhat differently than someone being groomed at age 27.

Not because of some abstract value system to each individual’s experiences. I still want both events to be addressed but there’s clearly a difference there and those two victims should be handled differently with regard to (and by acknowledging) their age rather than are they just an adult or child. And I think it is a factor that should be looked at more and evaluated better in our society. Cuz I’m not sure humans completely understand how to best account or how everyone’s different exist effects their maturity levels and how they chose to approach an experience. And I think as we learn we should adapt if want to possibly achieve a better quality of life.

I hope I’m making sense i hate how the law treats people when they meet their abstract rigid definition of adulthood. it’s oppressive and cruel. It’s also very unthinking to everyone differences in life in my opinion. Am I making any sense or do I sound crazy?

Okay, so I have a lot to add about a lot of this.

But a brief overview

I think it's very hard to talk about age reform when it's not really age or age related laws that are the issue. The issue is systematic and is in every aspect that we need to fix first.

With issues of adult prisons and prison sentences, it's all perpetuated by the prison industrial complex.

The entirety of age laws being what they are is caused by the military industrial complex.

Foster care issues are caused (in large part) by the way the government treats often poor people and people of color.

None of these issues are actually age-related, but rather, parts of bigger issues that seem to fall unfairly on younger people. (Younger people absolutely are targeted by governments a lot too, don't get me wrong.)

It's just important to keep in mind none of these issues tend to stem from the adult vs child argument. They all form from systematic issues that are already in place.

Also I agree with the concept of "not adult vs child" is very hard to argue this in a way that doesn't open it up to a bigger conversation. Maturity is different for every person at every age.

An 18 year old can be a world more mature than a person who is 45. But how do we determine this? How do we apply this to laws without it opening the door for abuse? Again, linking it all back to systematic issues.

I completely hear you. Unfortunately, this is a belief system engrained into society. They thrive off this age divide being between the young and the old. Financially, it's beneficial to sell the idea that old people are bad. And law wise, it's beneficial to sell the idea that young people are bad.

Financial gain from young people

When we're young, old people are authoritarians and they just don't get it. Teachers, parents, the law, the government, the old man down the street who always seems to be cranky. "Old" is synonymous with boring and uncool. Old people are out of touch, they're sad and they don't have fun. And of course, you would never be like that. You're going to be the exception when you get old. You and your friends will always like the cool things and have fun and never be out of touch.

This point of view is completely understandable, the idea that you will never be like that, but it misses the reason why there's that divide. People of different ages enjoy different things. People of different ages want different things. People of different ages can handle different things. It's all part of aging and one isn't inherently uncool. They're just very different. But when you're younger, it can be hard to believe one day you'll be the person who seems out of touch. But you recognize aging is an inevitable process.

So, how do you stop the process of aging without being able to actually stop it?

Well, as you get a bit older, you start having society pushing the idea that aging is Bad on you a lot harder. Being old looks bad, being old feels bad, old people don't get it and you can tell someone's old by the way they look. Wrinkles? Bad. Age spots? Bad. Old people are ugly and that's bad. So you should look young and beautiful because that's good.

So you funnel money into creams and lotions and fancy skin lights, you pay to have your hair dyed when you start going grey, you invest in the pharmaceutical and other beauty industries.

(Note: This exists on a lot of levels, much like every other societal problem does. It also exists because of the beauty industry and body standards in general.)

But at the same time, the government doesn't really want young people to be in control of anything. So that's where the next part comes in.

The benefits of laws against young people

Since the dawn of man, who has been most of the revolutionaries? When you think of societal reform, who do you most often imagine leading the pack? What do all these pictures seem to have in common?

Young people are scary for the government. Young people tend to bring radical change and that's the exact opposite of what they want.

So, the government sells the idea that young people are irrational and exactly what's wrong with this country. Young people are basically still kids and so they should be disregarded.

That's why you get the take of "young people are ruining this country and everything they do is bad" from older people. This is why you get concepts of "legally an adult but technically a child."

(This is also contributed to by left-leaning people who are anti trans, anti kink, anti porn, etc. They also fuel into the idea that "yeah teenagers technically count as adults, but they're still kids so they shouldn't have access to these things.")

This is part of why I so strongly hate the argument of "18 year olds shouldn't be pressured to vote" or "18 is too early to vote, you're practically still a child."

You are trusted with a car at the age of 16. You can literally buy a machine capable of killing you and everyone else on the road. You're trusted with making responsible choices with that, but you can't make choices for your own vote?

But the car issue stems from capitalism. You can work at 16 and you often need a car to commute. So, of course, the government wants workers to be able to work. It's also easy to underpay and exploit underage workers.

And people forget 18 year olds didn't use to be able to vote. We gained that right after we got tired of the country exploiting us. We could be sent to war at 18, but we couldn't vote. So, instead of having to give up exploiting and killing teenagers, the government decided "yeah I guess you guys can vote now."

Is there anything wrong with acknowledging the difference and treating someone who’s 8teen with the understanding that they’re 8teen differently. Like if someone felt they where groomed into sex work at 8teen I would want society to treat that situation somewhat differently than someone being groomed at age 27.

In the case of sexual exploitation, I think both should be handled with the exact same level of care and compassion. Because at least to me, a victim is a victim no matter their age. And there's no way to account for if one was more vulnerable than the other.

I think the issue with this is, again, everyone is different at every age.

For instance, is an 18 year old with a good support system and a good view of the world inherently more vulnerable (due to age) than a 27 year old with no support system and an upbringing where they ended up with an altered view of the world? (So for instance, the 18 year old was taught about sexual exploitation and how to be safe whereas the 27 year old in this context never had that.)

I also think it's important to be careful about the ways we treat victims differently based on perceived differences.

For example, do you think we should treat afab victims of sexual abuse differently than amab victims of sexual abuse? Because there are a lot of mental and emotional differences between people socialized as men versus people socialized as women. Especially in regards to sex and how they view it. This is, of course, caused by societal issues and treating them differently, but it is still a prevalent issue.

So. In short, yes you make sense. But the age conversation is a much bigger (systematic) issue than we really give it credit for.

Just some random thoughts about my own height and childhood.

I was 5’11” (roughly 181cm according to google) by the time I was 11 years old. Full grown woman at eleven.

I kinda want to know what it’s like to NOT feel like you are literally Robin Williams in the movie “Jack”, but you are a woman and somehow it feels even more unforgivable?

I looked like a grown adult in a children’s classroom. I wonder if other people have a better idea of what it feels like to grow up—I look at my sister’s kid, who is almost 13 and is still obviously a child, but a growth spurt very quickly on the way, and I’m like, wow. How are kids this short? He’s not short really, I’m just tall.

I didn’t feel like an ‘adult’ when I graduated high school. I grew up before I realized it was happening. I’d been taller than most of my teachers and my mother for years. I thought most or my peers saw me as an ogre with an anxiety problem and was into anime before it was cool, thus I was dubbed insane and childish by many people in high school. Maybe I was childish, but hey I was expected to take on adult responsibilities by the time I was 12—after all if you are adult sized, you are ready to help around the house, babysit grandma after school every day because she is senile and can’t even take herself to the bathroom anymore, and have all your homework done, before swim practice and dance class! Right? Well, what tween would NOT resort to anime or other visual media? I couldn’t handle more work. You crave distraction and fun stories are great for that kind of relief.

The point is, age wise, I was a child, and I was beholden to the rules and laws associated with childhood. Socially, people were prepared to treat me as an adult, one who often did not seem to belong. And so…after high school, I think I just turned into a person who felt like I needed permission from a higher power at all times to do things. I wasn’t rebellious. I felt like nothing had changed from school and so I followed any path that an ‘adult’ put before me. I always feel like I’m looking for approval from someone in charge. I’m still stuck in that mindset a bit and I’m nearly 40. I’m trying to break free of that mentallity…cuz I’m a fucking adult and I can’t keep looking at my peers and thinking: I must impress them with my poise, I must make myself smaller, I must use every masking technique I’ve ever learned to do with m blatant adhd just to make people like me. I keep thinking “I’m too irresponsible”, “I’m too loud”, “Now, I’m too antisocial.”

I think the Barbie Movie has me thinking about this a lot, given the plot and the characters. Like, I’m here wishing I could see myself in my teens. I have few photos. I wish I realized that I was actually really good looking…and frankly if I got past the fact that some of the peers i compared myself to weren’t ‘skinny’. They were still kids. I had regular thighs for my size. Other kids had thighs the width of my forearm. I developed a mild Barbie dislike, but not a hatred. I don’t hate dolls or Barbie at all. It was just weird. No one seemed my height till college and even then it was only a small portion of my friends.

Anyway, I’m trying to break free of all this nonsense. I’m an adult and I have a brain and ability to take my own life in my hands. I have recently replaced my ancient iMac with a top of the line model and and have reorganized my workspaces. I’m gonna work hard to get myself into some more art related pursuits, which might mean I’ll be going through an internet identity change. It’s time for a change. He’s pretty clumsy and frequently trips into trouble with more-dangerous paranormal creatures. Think of him as that shaky-cam found footage horror movie protagonist behind the camera who’s replaced early in the film. Doesn’t know how to use a gun, nor does he want to learn.

Timothy “Tommy” Casket - While not quite the team leader, he does manage the team’s funds! He’s actually pretty well-off from previously doing modeling work, but has turned to paranormal investigation after an incident made him aware it was an issue. He’s pretty invested in attempting to convince the general public that the paranormal are a general thing to be concerned about, thus the cameras. Being what can be essentially be seen as the face of the company, he’s made a lot of enemies. Very, very secure about his privacy. Father of Gregory Casket and he refuses to share who the other parent was.

Johnny and Ernie Ghost - With the science and understanding of the supernatural being as low as it is, the Ghost brothers collect information about the spirits they encounter and make plans and tools to more efficiently handle them in the future. While Johnny Ghost is more focused on the technical side of things, making spirit boxes, tools to see invisible things with, and weapons to keep the team safe. Absolutely the reason why the team is called the “Steampunk PIE” team by his future son. Ernest is more focused on the supernatural side of thing and is specifically working to understand how these things happen. Out of all of them, Ernest is the most likely to be singled out by ghosts more open to talking to people, and has even managed to scare a couple off. Coveralls are from their previous job.

“Teddy” - An absolute sweetheart who’s primary goal is to keep the team out of trouble, both with the police and the supernatural. She and Tommy go way back, and while she isn’t as invested in the whole ghost thing, she plans to support him for as long as she needs to. She also knows the most about his personal life.. cuz she’s allowed to know the most about his personal life. I think it’d be fun if she was also the team marksman and has the most expertise on paranormal defenses.

While he wasn’t aware of it at first, over time he realized he had some forms of supernatural powers— only person he’s really opened up to about it at all is his brother, and even then he hasn’t shared everything since he wants to work most of it out by himself.

- Thoughts on their home life/family

now we start the fun game of how do i chat about my kids without spoiling things… ya know. okay. i think his paternal grandparents are actually p chill they’re just not even remotely involved bc they live vv far away. they’re a bit upset with tatsunori for never updating them. higa used to send them tickets to all his Big games but then he overheard them joking with tatsunori about how they were always traveling home just to travel back out again. so. he doesn’t send them tickets as often now

- How i feel about their canonical writing/handling

i think in a lot of early posts i wasn’t confident enough in my writing to make higa more of… a actual Issue? he was kinda just a dick who got shut down quick by everyone. so i need to go back and fix that. need to show his actions are like. Very Bad, and he def faces consequences.

- The one thing i’d want to make canon about them

uhh. well. u see. im kinda writing beta so. the only thing i can really think of is like… making canon “if (x) had happened to higa instead of (y), then he would’ve turned out like (z)”, since i can’t reallyyy… get into backstory changes like that? 

- My number one favorite ship for them

i think non despair red pill is fun!! (specify non despair because the kg isn’t really the best time for higas personal growth, which is smthn red pill kinda hinges on)- SORRY PEOPLE WHO ARENT IN THE SERVER? i don’t remember if this joke has breached contamination or not. red pill is yamaguchi/higa. 

especially in non despair (since side stepping away from others isn’t really a option in the game + kinda makes people feel homicidal), they both wind up kinda isolated/on the fringes of group interactions because they’re not just. abrasive but they say shit that actually feeds into negative stereotypes. so people r a bit. steps away from them. so should they both get the chance to grow and change they can bond over how hard it is to try and integrate into a group u were excluded from because of like. ur own decisions hurting people in the group. 

- …Now everyone else i ship with them

higa keeps hate criming people it’s kinda. hard to ship him with people. that being said i think it’s silly to say he has a bit of a crush on maeda. cuz i promise u all maeda, at best, is 😐 at higa. i don’t ship them together but i think the idea of higa having a crush on maeda is funny. it’s definitely not canon tho i don’t write beta with that in mind

- The thing i will NEVER ship

see above. god damn it higa. (not that u can’t hurt people and genuinely change and grow. but like. yeah i think a lot of those ships have kinda sunk). 

- a dynamic/relationship i wish was explored more (in canon, or in fandom)

hmmmmm…. i’d honestly like to talk more about kobas feelings on higa? specifically within the context of the game where it’s like. obviously koba doesn’t want higa to FUCKING DIE but while he understands the situation and knows if he felt uncomfortable or unsafe, he could say so and higa would get booted out. i think he’s just not very happy with the fact that they have to tip toe around higas general evil-ness so that he doesnt go off the rails and like. try to work with monokuma. he’s choosing so much mercy and so much emotional maturity. and that’s what sucks about being confined to one pov character!!!

- thoughts on their design (appearance-wise)

maybe if i stopped giving higa fits that are so easy to clown on, he’d leave his villain era. hm. anyways!! lol sweater vest lol. i do genuinely like his design (been gently working on kobas fit recently and giving them more distinctive color palettes, so that’s fun), buuut yeah! tbh i don’t see it changing i don’t know where i’d go from here. i think it works v well ! :D

- A music-related thought- a song that reminds me of them, or what their music taste is, etc

had to Hunt to find one. but animal - sir chloe makes me think like. a song higa would listen to, then close out of halfway through and never listen to it again but be haunted by the Thoughts it made him Think. im not good at interpreting songs the way they’re meant to be interpreted. :(. sorry to everyone behind sir chloe.

First of all, @booknerdlife (omg it’s not letting me tag you) you are SO sweet and amazing!!!! I’m so glad that there are actually people out there who enjoy my rambling nonsense🙈. Sending you so many virtual hugs (or whatever virtual form of affection you prefer)!!

Second, I wonder how much clover’s personality will change once she’s able to be more open and honest with herself and others and not so guarded. I feel like she’s had to make her personality and become cynical, jaded, and guarded to protect herself. She had to get rid of any vulnerabilities as a survival tactic, which is totally valid! But I wonder how she will change when she lets her guard down completely.

I also think that she might not know who she is without all these protective layers because she’s had to stuff it down and never really got to explore that part of herself, so it will be really interesting to see if she surprises everyone even herself at the changes.

I wonder if she’ll keep like the pessimism and dark sense of humor, or she’ll learn to lighten up. Also how everyone will react to these changes- will she become more likable? Will people start enjoying spending time around her? I’m really curious about that change.

I also wonder if she’ll be more like how she is around teddy. We know that she can be emotionally vulnerable, gentle, and kind with him, so it would be interesting to see if that extends to herself and others as well.

I am worried about her parents coming around because I assume that in the story timeline it will be a matter of months not years, so she probably hasn’t gone through processing what happened and healing. Even if she had though, it is a trauma and it’s really difficult to remember that healing when confronted with the source of it. That’s a serious trigger, no matter how much work you’ve put in.

I don’t remember if this happened, but did the bridgerton fam ask her about why her fam wouldn’t be coming? I wonder if they’ll ask about her parents, or if they think they’re dead or something. I forget what they all know about this topic.

I also feel like she’ll make an offhand comment or joke about her parents that would make them pause/be super concerned behind her back because she doesn’t realize that what she went through wasn’t normal for a fam. Like at the dinner with them she went ‘oh haha my fam never ate together cuz my dad would always get mad whenever we did’ or when the kids are playing, she accidentally shushes them because she’s worried the noise will get them in trouble, or something like that.

I totally agree with you, I think her personality and her being so cynical is a defense mechanism because she thinks if she were soft and sweet, she wouldn't have been able to handle and survive what it was like back home😱

Even she will be surprised at herself when she starts to like smile more and be more relaxed and how she will be especially when she's with Benedict 🥰

I don't think it will be so so obvious to the outsiders but the people close to her will definitely notice😍

Ohhh definitely! ❤️ The parents showing up will be within the season so in months for Clover 😏 And there will be so much angst because she is so traumatized and tense even when they're far away, so when they come there...😏

We actually have a scene coming with that! ❤️ But basically, the Bridgerton family did ask whether her parents would attend the wedding breakfast and Clover totally tensed up and said (very curtly) that they can't travel 😈 Violet probably asked Benedict later on though! ❤️

Joking about her family omg that would be such an interesting scene! ❤️ Because like, the Bridgertons are the absolute opposite of what her family was like, so they would be shocked if Clover so much as joked about something she thinks is insignificant😱

HOKAY! FiRsT oF aLl! CLIFFHANGER! FU-ASDFGHJKL-CK! I’m soooo conflicted about how to feel about the conflict, like who to agree with. They’re ALL understandable, but some are more or less reasonable. I guess, bless Jinnie’s poor heart, he just got one of the most lovely moments(I melted into my carpet during the happy part) followed by one of the biggest shocks, and I sorta get it. Joons a sweetheart and i feel so bad for the poor guy, he’s probably going to be the one holding everyone desperately together. Yoongles is trying his best and the emotional weight he has to have on him is crazy( I would fight anyone for a person like him) Hobis understandably freaked, but he’s doing so much to try and help the Tae-Jiminie situation, sooo proud of him. Jimin’s not heard the biggest news(for him) yet and I’m terrified for him. He truly cares for and I feel so bad thinking about how it’s going to upend so much of what he felt about himself before. TAE! I want to cry for her so much! Of course her pack will always love her, even if they’re shocked. I wish there was a way to make her understand that ( Though author Li- i believe you’re going to send me on two more chapters of this agony and I can’t wait to read them) Jk was probably the most ok? In this chapter, and like Joon said, I don’t think he could have handled things any better. Baby of the pack took everything as it came, got Tae home, got Jin/yoongi/yn to comfort Tae, kept ahold of Jimin to give taetae time, got joon, and didn’t add the the mate mark turmoil. My guess is he isn’t as ok as he seems(though I hope he is ok), and he and Joon are probably going to take the brunt of caring for the others(and him as the former littles pup). And yn… she’s grown so much. Earlier on I can’t imagine she’d take her mate mark discovery very well. But now she’s taking care of Tae and im so so so glad Tae has her.

I don’t know, reading back through my comment I sorta summarized EVERYTHING so umm… whoops. BUT EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. It was packed with so many new feelings and developments and I feel almost windswept. You are the absolute queen of setting up emotions like these.(as an attempting writer how the heck you write the personal lives and feelings of EIGHT characters without jumbling or ignoring any of the characters I don’t know and I’m amazed that you do it so well) the cliffhanger hanger will frustrate me to no end(in a good way) and I will be (Im)patiently waiting for the next update.

You know honestly- if you're kinda confused on who to support- that probably means i've done my job right. the feedback i've gotten on this chapter is definitely going to change the way certain parts of next looks because a lot of people where very unhappy with jin- this wasn't my intention at all but still! very interesting- it feels like the beginning of the story again when a lot of people said they wouldn't read it cuz of how yoongi acted :/ but oh well! at least jk is good-boy confirmed.

OKAY HONESTLY THOUGH SO MUCH OF MY MENTAL ENERGY GOES INTO LITTERALLY MAKING SURE EVERYONE GETS A CHANCE TO SPEAK- JUST THAT- AND THAT EVERYONE STAYS IN CHARECTER AND I DON'T CONFUSE WHOSE SPEAKING, LIKE- YOU'VE GOT NO IDEA HOW TAXING IT IS.
