Fuuucckkk I had this promot in my head right after Christmas... whatever I'll just send it now before I forget lol
Your S/O getting back from work and opening the bedroom door to you failing to wrap yourself in a present ribbon sexily and being in a tangled mess
cw: 18+ content, not explicit, comedy
characters: Ingo, Emmet, Cyrus, Lear, Grimsley, Nanu, Rika, Cyllene
It was supposed to be easy.
Really, you had followed the guide online and tried desperately to get the ribbon to dip in your curves and extenuate everything you wanted it to. Sexy had been the goal… A nice surprise to greet your beloved after work. Except… Well, it did not go that way. Not at all.
Your arm ended up stuck behind your back, while your other could not reach where you needed it to get out of the situation. Awkwardly, you laid out on the bed you planned to pose on, struggling to escape the trap you had got yourself in. Sexy, certainly you were not, flailing like a Magikarp on land. It was an odd form of torture.
It only grew worse when you heard the bedroom door open.
Your eyes went wide as…
▲Ingo▼
● It had been a bit earlier than he expected when the Subway Boss had been able to pull away from work. Heading home was a special treat for the holidays. He wanted to argue. Of course, when he got home, he had been a bit shocked by how quiet the apartment was. All the lights were off, and there was no sound of his partner making any sound. Concern entered his mind, but he opted to check the bedroom first before getting stressed out. Naps could happen at any time, after all. He found himself opening the door with careful regard on possibly not disturbing them. However, the sight that greeted him was far more mind-boggling.
● Candles were lit in the bedroom as he saw you “wrapped” up on the bed, frozen in your spot. The sight of you scantily clad would have normally made him more flustered, but he felt far more concerned by how your arm was stuck behind you. He rushed to your side to help undo the knot while asking what had transpired to cause this circumstance. You remained silent, clearly flustered by being spotted in your struggle. In the end, the mood was ruined. Ingo was far too concerned, and you were exhausted from your struggle. An evening of cuddling on the couch was had instead.
△Emmet▽
○ The younger twin had managed to get off earlier than usual, having sped around to finish up all his duties as quickly as he could. He had the full intention of going home and seeing his darling. Oh, he had been so busy! Verrrry busy. Emmet felt so exhausted from the tireless work of the holidays and excited by the prospect of getting some time alone with his partner. He crept into the home, wishing to surprised them. However, he was caught off-guard by the darkness. Tilting his head, he walled through the apartment. Were they napping? He opened the door of the bedroom and peered inside. The sight made him freeze.
○ You were laid out on the bed, tied up uncomfortably in an attempt at lingerie. His cheeks puffed out as he began to laugh at the sight. Your expression was pure mortification. The seduction attempt had failed hard, it seemed. He walked towards you, clearly coming to free you from the binding fabric. Well, that was what you thought. His eyes were dark as he pinned you down. “Mmm… I can tie you far better, darling,” the smile on his lips was simply too mischievous. Your arm was freed, but your wrists were caught instead by him. It seemed the lingerie still had been effective. Task… failed successfully?
🌌Cyrus🛰
☄️ The Galactic Boss had the full intention of working as late as he could, but his staff simply seemed intent on getting off. It was annoying. He had not picked workers like this. Even his commanders wanted off to do whatever people did this time of year. Dates, from his understanding. He grumbled as he walked in the snowy weather towards his apartment. Whatever, he would demand overtime in exchange for this. He found himself at his front door before he knew it, stepping inside to a dark home. Tensing up for a moment, he wondered if something had happened. It was not that late. Heading to the bedroom, he opened the door to go change into lounge clothes. Instead, he was greeted by a sight.
☄️ You were frozen in place on the bed with a mess of fabric wrapping your body. Your arm was stuck behind your back. A sigh left Cyrus. What in the world was this supposed to be? You barely had time to react as he walked past you with the intent of changing still on his mind. This was disrupted by you calling out to him. He turned around and glanced at you. A simple tug at a knot had you freed from your fabric prison. “… I'm unsure what you were attempting with this,” he murmured before finally getting out of his work clothes. You caught him before he could redress himself, not wanting to give up. A sigh left him. It seemed that you were demanding more of his attention. … Well, he did have some frustrations to work out, he supposed.
👑Lear💎
🪙 The prince finally broke away from his duties with the full intention of retreating into his quarters and not being bothered until the following day. Truly, events had been happening left and right and requiring his oversight and attention. A break was something he felt immensely desperate for. He found himself walking through his quarters while lost in thought. It had been a moment since he had alone time with his partner. A certain restlessness blossomed in his chest as his feet carried him faster to his bedroom. He only stopped when it came into view.
🪙 You sprawled out on his bed would be a welcome sight if you had not looked so strange. He had to take off his sunglasses to make sure the sight before him was not some strange illusion. You looked as if you were bound on his bed by colourful fabric. He stepped toward you as you clearly attempted to pretend you were not there. “… I'm not…” He found himself tugging you free of bindings of fabric, unintentionally leaving you completely bare to him, “D-did Hoopa do this!?” His reply made you burst out laughing from the absurdity of the thought. Hoopa… doing that. Somehow. He then got frustrated as you laughed at his assertion. There was no fun that night.
♠️Grimsley❤️
♤ The Gambler decided against more than a quick game of roulette. It was the holidays, after all. He barely had any money after getting gifts… Of course, lady luck had been kind to him, and a big payout had come from his single game. Bring mindful for once in his life, he decided to play it safe and take his winnings home with him. Besides… He had a strange urge to spend the night with his partner rather than in the arms of his biggest vice. So, he entered the apartment and called out to you. It was dark, however. He blinked. Asleep already? He doubted that. Entering your bedroom, he peered inside. The sight greeting him made him chuckle.
♡ You were sprawled out on the bed in a bad attempt at present lingerie. He bad been there and done that… Not a good time. The embarrassment from being caught like that was plain to see from your body language. Grimsley easily untied you from your binding. Before you could go to attempt to explain it, he pressed his lips against your own. Icy eyes pierced your very being as he instead used the fabric to tie up your wrists in a lovely bow. “Oh, man, what a gift,” he teased, “… Of course, you don't mind if I indulge myself, do you?” It seemed you were in for a long night as he threw himself into his second-biggest vice.
🐈⬛️Nanu❤️🩹
🌑 The Kahuna had been wandering Ula'Ula vacantly due to the increased tourist presence on the island. It always seemed to make the Tapu restless… Annoying as that was. He wondered if he should really spend his time intervening or just like the guardian deity act like he had for the store built on sacred grounds. It was mostly pointless, he felt. So, he found himself trailing back to Route 17, ready to turn in for the day. Nothing was happening. So, he opened the door to the station. He blinked at the sight greeting him.
🌑 You were on the floor, struggling to escape some kind of fabric wrapped around your body. The Meowths had gathered around you and watched on in various emotions. He stepped over and easily untied you from the mess you had seemingly gotten yourself into. You were now lying naked on his floor. “… I'm not even going to ask,” he deadpanned and moved to crash on the couch. You were clearly displeased with this response and followed after him. This resulted in him being pinned against the couch. It seemed you were not asking. Nanu just accepted his fate.
👔Rika🌶
🟤 Geeta could be a bit too demanding, Rika found. She was not the sort to usually complain, but she really wanted some time off. Work mode got tiding after a while, and all she wanted was to go home and crash. The holidays should not have been crunch time, but it always felt that way with the number of challengers jumping after getting their first pokemon. She rubbed her eyes as she finally found herself heading to her apartment. The door swung open to reveal a dark, quiet scene. Shaking her head, she turned her sights to the bedroom. Really… She was about to crash, too. A nap with her partner sounded wonderful. Yet… She stopped after opening the door. The sight on the other side made her blink a few times and reached to pull out her glasses.
🟤 You were bound on the bed in a clearly uncomfortable position with glittery fabric. She trailed over to the bed, red eyes, inquisitive and confused. “… I…” Perhaps it was the sheer tiredness from work, but she burst out laughing after attempting to speak. You looked at her with a far too huffy expression, making it worse. Eventually, she broke out of it enough to untie you from your ribbon prison. You crossed your arms over your bare chest as she attempted to grasp your shoulders. “Babe, I'm sorry,” she said between laughs, “Look, you have to admit it was funny.” You would later on. The mood, however, was very much destroyed.
🌙Cyllene🌌
🌕 The Survey Corps Captain felt as if her endless amount of work would suffocate her one day. Yet, she also found herself unwilling to pull away from it until she absolutely had to. Laventon had been expressing his concern far too frequently and made her simply stop for the evening. According to him, it was actually some holidays back in his home country, and seeing her work as usual was killing him. So, she took off early and headed to her home, watching as snow began to dust the village. Sliding open the door to her home, she took off her sandals and perked up her head to see… An odd sight.
🌕 You laid out on her futon, wrapped in strange fabric. Her hands were on her hips as you writhed and tried to escape the binding of them. How had this happened… She felt a headache forming just attempting to think this through. It was no doubt self-inflicted, at least. You seemed flustered as she came forward and pulled out a short sword she always kept on her person. The blade cut through the fabric and freed you from its hold. “… I'm only going to ponder what your goal is,” she remarked, not wanting an actual answer. This made you whine and reach out to embrace her. She was in no way seduced nor entertained.

TW: MENTION OF LOSING A LIMB/GORE MENTION please be advised.
Hello! I have a prompt where, the reader pushes there lover (warden Ingo, cyllene, laventon, adaman SEPARATE) away from an Alpha Pokemon attack and then get seriously injured (like losing a limb or something) and them crying and telling us off on how we could have died or grieving our death.
(both surviving and dying endings please)
Oh yes delicious angst! 👀
Cw: almost losing a limb/losing a limb, reader death, mourning, depression, angst no happy end.
Reader becoming severely injured or dying saving them.
Warden Ingo
(Close call)
Ingo carried you, blood staining his coat and your outfit. He carried you going as fast as he humanly could down until the nearest doctor, anyone who could help—screaming for help, keeping you warm, and losing more blood in any way he could. When you finally wake up, Ingo is out of breath and on the verge of tears. He holds you close, tight, and protective. He couldn't get mad at you. He could never be mad. He was just relieved you were all right. However I would be lying if I said he wouldn't be a little more protective from now on.
(reader dead)
He stared at a shaky palm, remembering the way you went slack in his arms, bags under his eyes from sleepless nights filled with new and old nightmares. The painful feeling of losing something was so painful; however, what scared him more was that this feeling was familiar to him. The emptiness inside him was only doubled after. He can't even look at himself anymore because whatever stares back is your smiling face and deja vu. Even though he knows he must take care of himself, he has to admit it's hard even to bring himself to eat these days without looking over to your smiling face how he misses you're warmth in his arms. Now, all he feels is the cold, howling wind of Coronet Heights. Once again that loneliness fills him in this time; it will be there till his grave. Ingo cannot love again for he can not feel that love again.
Cyllene
(close call)
Survivors guilt, as you lie there on the ground losing blood at an alarming rate. She's frozen. She's almost in denial as other survey members rush to your limb body. Cyllene finally snaps out of it all. Her panic hits her all at once, barking orders to get you back to camp.
Unfortunately Pesselle running low on supplies and with time running out she wasn't sure she would be able to save you. Upon hearing this Revelation something inside her stoked a fire Cyllene took it upon herself to go out and find every single ingredients she needed helping her nurse you back to health, of course you being unconscious from blood loss for a few days you had no idea all you woke up to was an angry rant from a very very pissed captain.
(Death)
After all she did, she couldn't save you. Sadness and rage bubble into one, gritting her teeth, nails scratching at the cold ground; she wants to scream. Damn it why wasn't it her? Damn, it should have been her! The job of the Galaxy Core was to protect people and she couldn't even protect the one person she cared most. She needed to get stronger she needed to be more so this would never happen again. And that's why her heart grows three times colder that day.
Laventon
(close call)
Laventon drag you outside of Camp to look at some Pokemon well he asks you to ready your pokeballs for a catch, but he doesn't notice the alpha Garchomp that had their eyes on you. Everything was a blur then helplessly sitting still as the rest of Team Galaxy tried everything to use your Pokemon to fight the alpha back off as they get you back to safety. If only he could throw a Pokeball if he were good at raising Pokemon. Laventon felt like a burden to you here he was having you risk his life to do his work any friendly wake up he's on the verge of tears holding you closely his hands shaking the sinking feeling of uselessness does not leave.
(Death)
He drowns himself in his work. It is the only way to make him forget about his constant nightmares of that day. He still loves Pokemon. He does not blame Pokemon for taking your life, but he recognizes more than anyone else that Pokemon are as dangerous as they are fascinating. It'll be a while since he touches one without his heart beating with anxiety. He barely eats. He sleeps. All he does is work on his Pokedex. He has to finish it for your sake, or else all the dangerous work you did, the work you died for, will be for nothing, and when he finally finishes, it will say, "With the help of my beloved, thank you. I will miss you."
Adaman
(close call)
If it wasn't for Leafeon who growled at the large Pokemon making sure it didn't take a step closer as his human brother held you in his arms, blood staining his fingers. Leafeon successfully holding back the Pokemon that threatened your life walks over to Adaman whining as he looks your arm giving him a worried look. Adaman knows the natural remedies around these parts you are too far from the settlement and the village to take care of you so he does all that he can using leafeon's aromatherapy to soothe you as he begins to use natural herbs and revenues to calm the bleeding as much as he can while ripping apart his own clothes for makeshift bandages rumoring through your bag for anything he could use anything at all to help.
Upon waking up, Adaman almost tackles you, holding you close to his body, careful not to hurt you. He squeezes you gently. "You're an idiot..." he whispers, his hand shaking, his voice breaking. "don't you ever scare me like that again."
(death)
If only he was faster and in denial at the fact that your time has ended. If only he hadn't wasted his time, he could have gotten you to the settlement, and you would have been here. He felt like a failure, not only a failure of a friend but a failure of the leader of Diamond Clan. If he couldn't keep one person he loved alive, how could he keep his entire Clan alive? Time is truly short. However, some people, if unlucky, can be even shorter. He'll spend all his days morning into training, getting stronger in your name until he has passed out on the ground. He knows that he's just wasting his time and that no amount of tears will bring you back. He did not deserve you; you did not serve your time being robbed. The Lord Sinnoh is so cruel.

Can someone help me find a Pokemon fic? It was more like headcannons but it was where pla meets their descendants. Mainly volo, Cynthia, Cyrus and cyllene. I thought it was by onestepbackwards but I can’t find it on their account. But it mentions cyllene being disappointed with Cyrus and I think volo was jealous of Cynthia? Or maybe he just didn’t like her. I’m pretty sure I’m over looking it somehow so any help is appreciated!

Cyllene is on the edge of her seat gripping her pen tightly, she needs to write these reports but how can she when her mind is filled with thoughts of you? Her sweet little omega at home.
You are her beloved bonded, and yet during you're most vulnerable time she can't be at your side, it angers her she has to work while you're at home about to start your heat. She's not worried about anyone breaking in, she already left Abra there with you to teleport to her if anyone did.
But she made sure the house was locked up tight, you I had everything you need, and she doubts anyone would like to face her wrath if they so much as got near her mate.
But her thoughts keep going back to you.
She wonders if you were working on making a nest or maybe you're stealing her clothes to add to it? A barely there smile crosses her lips.
you always looked so cute trying to scent her clothes.
Or maybe you already finished making your nest and are dealing with your neediness? She can picture you with your legs spread, a pair of her panties to your face inhaling her scent, while you rub your clit in tight circles, just begging for her to take you.
To mark you over and over again, to make your pretty pussy hers all over again.
Her office fills with the scent of an angry alpha.
how patheic she's stuck here because no one could fill her role for a week, her sweet omega needs her, what part of that do they not understand?
"Uh...Captain Cyllene, ma'am?" The guard flinches under her cold glare.
"What is it now?"
The corps member shakes in his place, her near monotoned voice and stern glare striking fear into him.
"W-well we have word that um-"
"Spit it out already." She doesn't have all day for this.
"Right! We have word that, uh, that professor Laventon got poisoned on the survey."
She sighs rubbing her temple.
"Set up the medical bay. And let me guess, it wasn't even from a pokemon."
"...No ma'am, he got spooked by a Bedew and fell back on some poisonous plants."
If she was home she wouldn't have to deal with this nonsense.
Just before she's able to send the guard on his ways, her Abra spawns in her office, making a soft cry.
The corps member doesn't have a chance to blink before he is lifted by the collar and thrown out of the way by a speeding Cyllene, as she's out the front door before anyone can say anything.
Her darling needs her, so why would she stay?
She skids to a stop once she reaches her home, swiftly sniffing the air and checking the surrounding area, yet by the looks of things no one has been near here, no beta and no other alphas either.
She fidgets with the locks she had in place, easily opening the door, only to tak a sharp inhale at the overwhelming smell coming from her home.
You started your heat eariler than expected.
She enters, closing the door behind her and taking her shoes off ro slip into her house shoes before entering further.
She can see the shadow of your silhouette, your ass high in the air and your hand between your legs, though your cries are muffled, she knows you probably have your face stuffed into some of her clothes.
"Mm...ah! Alpha, please it's to much!...haa-!!" You jump with a shriek as the sliding door to your room is ripped open.
Your eyes locking with your mates, which only make you relax once more and spread your legs further, removing your hand to show her your drooling pussy.
"Welcome home, love." You pant, smiling shakily at her.
"My, aren't you a delectable sight." Fuck, she can feel herself drooling.
You shake with excitement as your alpha walks closer, eyeing you like a peice of meat.
She always makes sure you're more than taken care of, especially during your heats.

Kept going with the fic. This time, the Lilligant the Y/N owns is starting to develop some character traits, Captain Cyllene is in this part of the story and wants to know about the Lilligant.

Still a little too far away from getting to the Arezu parts yet, but I should be almost done with the first part of the story, the same story as Legends Arceus with a twist. The next chapter is about the Y/N and their Lilligant going through the Obsidian Fieldlands and Crimson Mirelands, catching some Pokemon, getting the special Wyrdeer and Ursaluna from Mai and Calaba respectively and fighting the nobles Kleavor and Hisuian Lilligant who Lian and Arezu look after respectively.
Here's a bunch of Petilils for everyone to enjoy, which will appear later on in the story.

Intentions - Volo x reader
“heyyyy i loved ur last fic!! do you think you’d be willing to write another? i thought this sounded like a fun idea: a volo x reader fic where the reader is just as secretly unhinged and resentful as him and have the same goal. they think they’re manipulating each other into what they want, but then they realize that they’re both after the same thing and escalate their friendship into something more? 🤭 thanksss <3” - anon
i FINALLY got this one finished!!! it only took me a month and a half :')
i hope you enjoy! <3 (also thank youuuuuu!!!!! <333)
y/n - your name 2k+ words (2,076) friends ⟶ lovers
Plates.
Plates are what you’re after.
You’ve been searching and searching, seeking them out to meet with a higher being: Arceus. You’ve devoted so much of your time and efforts into studying the Almighty Sinnoh. Laying low is so hard to do. But, despite how much you want to express your true feelings toward this land you call ‘home’, it’s better you didn’t.
You’ve been watching Volo and the new recruit from afar; watching them both gather the plates you’ve been longing to find. You sigh in frustration.
They were supposed to be yours.
Once you return to the village, you run into Volo. It seems he’s stocking up on wares to ‘sell’. You already knew he had the lowest numbers in the Ginkgo Guild. It’s not that hard to overhear, especially where you like to sit on Kamado’s balcony to do your work.
“Seems like someone’s heading back out.”
He turns to you with a rather shocked expression. “Y/n! You startled me.” Quickly gathering himself, he calms down and and smiles. “How did you know I’m heading back out?”
“Well,” you begin, tilting your head. “firstly, you’re stocking up on more wares. Perhaps to sell, or… to use for yourself.”
You see his cheeks flush slightly. “How do yo—”
“Second, your trousers are already splattered with fresh mud, most likely from the Mirelands. Nowhere else has dirt so… red.” You pause. “What were you going to say? I’m sorry for interrupting.”
He purses his lips. You can tell he’s trying to read you. “Nothing… we’ll pretend it didn’t come up.”
“Mhmm…”
Silence takes over. It’s not like either of you to stay this way for very long, as you both like to carry on lengthy conversations on the interesting facts of the region. Volo finishes stocking his bag and throws it back on, grunting as the weight of it almost pulls him to the ground. “Well, I’m off to… sell.”
“Before you go—”
His eyes widen, eager to hear what you have to say. Any information to him is important, and you know that oh so well.
“Would you mind telling me why you were the one chosen to help the new Survey Corps recruit over me?”
He’s taken aback by your question, almost offended that you had asked. “You know how well versed I am in these studies, y/n. You wouldn’t understa—”
“I wouldn’t understand?” Your eyes grow angry. “Do you know how long I’ve been studying each and every ruin and artifact I’ve found in the Hisui region? How much time and effort I’ve put in to piecing together this stupid binder for Cyllene, just so I can spend more time out in the open air? I wouldn’t understand?”
“I didn’t mean to—”
“What I don’t understand is why they let an outsider take the lead on this one.”
You’ve offended him.
Oh, how you’ve offended him.
“Excuse me?!” he shouts.
You glare at him, lowering your voice. “You heard me, Volo.”
—————
It’s been a few weeks since your argument. Volo’s been trying to apologize since the day after is happened, but you don’t want to hear it.
“Y/n, please! Do you think I want to help Akari on my own?”
“Who?”
“The new recruit…”
You shrug. “I never bothered to learn her name.”
Volo lets out a hearty laugh. You’ve never seen him so genuine; so true, even in your past conversations. “That was good.” he responds. “I wish I could say the same.”
You both joke around for a while. It’s nice to have a friend back on your side.
“Hey…” You break the silence, a more serious tone taking over. “What if I… help you? You know, with finding plates?”
A coy smile spreads across Volo’s face. “I love that idea.”
—————
“For safe keeping. You both travel quite a bit, and I would hate for either of you to lose them.”
Weeks have passed. You’d convinced Volo and ‘whatever their name is’ to let you keep the plates in your possession. Volo was a bit apprehensive at first, but the girl seemed to trust you. “I think it’s a good idea, Volo. Y/n does have a point: we do travel a lot.”
“Fine.”
More days pass. You have all but one. You cannot believe how easy it was to just… take them. You smile as you sit on the bank side of Lake verity, taking in the fresh air around you. You feel a hand touch your shoulder. Startled, you look up to see Volo.
“What are you doing here, y/n?” He sits down next to you, setting his bag to the side.
You shrug. “I needed some air, and Lake Verity is so pretty this time of year.”
He nodded in agreement. “And the plates? Are they safe?”
“Of course! Do you think I’d let them out of my sight?”
He smiles, looking to the water glistening in the sunlight. “Good.”
You sigh. “Hey, this may sound strange, but…” You take a deep breath. “Do you ever feel that… the girl is… getting in the way.”
His eyes light up, and even though he’s not looking at you, you can tell he’s interested in what you have to say.
“I mean, she wouldn’t even know where to look if it weren’t for you. And, if I’m being honest, you know more about these plates than she does.”
“She’s gotta get home somehow.”
You shrug. “All I’m saying is that you deserve this more than her. We deserve this more than her.”
You watch as Volo’s lips curl into this small, almost unnoticeable smile. “You know,” he says, looking out at the water, “I was wondering when you’d come around.” He turns to you, the smile on his face growing bigger. “I mean, it was only a matter of time.”
“I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at.” you reply. “I was only trying to ma— wait… you’re not doing this for the sake of helping are you?”
He laughs.
Oh how he laughs.
It’s a beautiful sound; a melody. Tears start to roll down his cheeks from the laughter. “Oh, y/n!” he chokes out. “I never have been!”
You start to giggle.
“I was only trying to get you on my side.” he continues. “I figured it would be—”
“Volo,” You interrupt. “Why do you think I asked to keep the plates?”
He stares at you, unsure of what to say. His eyes are wide, and he seems surprised that you, you, would be trying to sabotage not only the girl, but the entire Survey Corp? “Y/n…” His voice is soft; hushed. “I never thought that you—”
“That I’d want to turn my back on the people of Jubilife? Because I’m not.”
He’s silent.
“I’ve always had this intention. It just took me years of acquiring the knowledge and the connections to feel comfortable enough to go for it…” You pause, watching a Magikarp leap out of the water. “Besides… the girl makes it easier.”
Volo gently slides his hand over yours. You don’t think anything of it.
You’re friends.
“Meet me in the Highlands tonight.” he says. “There’s something I need to say.”
—————
The Coronet Highlands were so pretty at night. You lay on your back in the patch of flowers at Fabled Spring, looking at the billions of stars just above you in the sky. Volo arrives not too long after you, setting his bag against one of the trees. For once, he’s not in his uniform, wearing a dark green kimono and matching trousers. “I thought I’d dress little casual this evening.” He sits down next to you, pulling something out of his pocket to hand to you. “I thought you may like this.”
You sit up and carefully take what he’s holding. “A comet shard!” you squeak. “How did you—”
“I found it in the Mirelands; the day you caught me with mud-stained pants.” He bit his lip, looking to the ground. “The day of our little spat.”
You’re silent.
“I’d been wanting to give it to you for so long, and…” He looks at you, eyes filled with starlight. “I just didn’t know how.”
“Volo, I…” You exhale. “Thank you.”
He shakes his head. “No need to thank me, y/n.”
You both lay there for a while, listening to the nature around you. It’s so peaceful; serene, the fireflies lighting up the spring.
“I wish every night were like this.”
Volo squeezes your hand a little tighter. You watch as his lips curl into the smallest, yet sweetest smile. It makes your heart flutter.
Had you always felt these things?
“Feeling content with sharing the experience of a serene, summer night.” he continues. “It’s easy with you.”
“I agree.” you reply in an almost whisper. “It’s… it’s nice.”
You can feel his eyes on you, even when you’re focused on the stars above. “So what did you want to talk about?” you ask, trying to break whatever tension you were both feeling.
“Never mind that.”
You look to him once more. “Volo, I—”
“I just want to share this moment with you.”
He rolls over on his side to face you, his hand caressing your cheek. “Do you know just how pretty you are?”
Your abdomen feels like it’s going to explode. You can’t help but to blush as Volo says these things to you. You hope he doesn’t notice, but…
“Do you like it when I say these things?” He scoots closer, his chest barely touching your arm. “Hmm?”
You look at him, and it’s hard to keep yourself contained.
“I did, actually, want to talk with you about something tonight.” he whispers. “If you’ll allow me to.”
You nod. He takes a deep breath, his hand still placed on your cheek. “Y/n, I— if we’re to use the plates for ourselves, and forge this new world, would you… would you mind if we did it together?” He gulps. “Because I don’t want to do this without you.”
“Volo…”
He pulls you in close.
So, so close.
“I can’t do this without you, y/n.”
You wrap your arms around him tightly, tangling your limbs together in the patch of flowers you lie on. Volo nuzzles his face into your neck. His breath is warm against your skin, his fingers tracing the seams of your Survey Corps uniform. You feel your breath hitch. Volo feels it too, looking up at you when he does. “Are you alright?”
You nod quickly. Maybe too quickly.
“Y/n, promise you’re not lying to me.”
“I promise.” you breathe.
His fingers continue to trace your uniform, every seam; every outline; every wrinkle in the fabric. “Y/n?”
“Hmm?” You watch as his fingers slowly trace their way up to your neckline.
“You do know I meant it when I said you were pretty, right?” His tone has completely shifted. He smirks lightly as he looks at you, lust in his eyes. “Because you are.” Untangling himself from your grasp, he sits up, pulling you up with him. “My pretty y/n.”
You were feeling those things again.
And he knows it.
He leans in as close as he can, noses almost touching. “Promise you won’t leave me behind.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
He grabs your waist tightly and presses his lips to yours, pulling you into his lap as he does. He’s so passionate, yet so soft; his lips warm against yours in the cool, summer night. He pulls away to look at you, his eyes meeting your gaze as your lips part. You both smile at one another, and Volo is quick to kiss you once more.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for so long.” he says, holding your hands in his.
“Then why didn't you?”
“Because I needed to know where your intentions were.”
You giggle softly at his remark. “Obviously, I made the right choice.”
“That you did.” He pushes a stand of hair out of your face. “Not completely off topic, but how many plates do we have so far?”
“Seventeen.” you respond. “Why?”
He starts to get up, you sliding off his lap into the flowers. Volo extends his hand to you to help you up, not letting go once you’re standing. He looks to the mountain just up above, and a mischievous grin quickly forms on his face. He turns back to you, squeezing your hand tightly.
“Let’s go.”

When a Girl Falls from the Sky
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello reader! Welcome to my extremely last minute MerMay story. Truth be told, it is only tangentially related to MerMay - more set in an AU that has a lot of mers. Still, I hope you enjoy!!
Summary: Professor Laventon gets a new research assistant, but a lot of strange things seem to keep happening around her. Come Hell or high water - and both are very real options as Hisui finds itself sinking into the sea - Laventon will have Dawn's back!
Content Warnings:This fic contains brief mentions of blood and violence against children.
Notes: Thanks once again to all the inspiration from monsoon-of-art on Tumblr and their PLA Mer AU. You're amazing and your knowledge of the ocean astounds and frightens me. For more context on Dawn's encounter with Volo, please read here. Don't like to read on Tumblr? Read it here on AO3.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The silence felt oppressive to his ears, the professor had forced himself to stop pacing around his lab to avoid burning a hole in the carpet. He tapped his foot to fill the quiet, anything would be better than to sit there with the thought that they would eject Dawn from the village.
No.
He had to have faith in Cyllene.
She was a fair captain.
Laventon closed his eyes. Rather than his worries that she would be kicked out, he felt the crash of phantom waves against his legs, threatening to bowl him over. His face scrunched, his mouth creasing into a frown when an involuntary shiver ran up his spine – he felt the cold screaming through his limbs. Early spring waters were deceptive like that; ice-free but retaining that deadly cold that would kill a human within minutes when left to their own devices.
Had he not seen her falling from the sky like a shooting star, her body enshrouded in a burning light that almost blinded him, she would have drowned. Unconscious and already sinking, he had barely managed to reach her in time before she went under.
Towing her back through the choppy water wasn’t easy. When he finally managed to drag her to the shore, she wasn’t breathing, and her skin was equal parts cold and pale.
“No, no, no!”
Laventon hissed through chattering teeth, hauling the girl into his lap so she wasn’t face first in the sand, before aiming some well-placed pats at her back. Nothing happened. He stifled a curse, measuring the strength of the next few strikes until he heard a guttural cough and then a sputter.
Quivering arms wrapped around him, but Laventon couldn’t tell if she was cold or scared.
Pesselle had yelled at him when he burst through the doors of her medical wing. Too busy getting yelled at, he did not see where the girl in his arms had been taken to, but he didn’t argue when she shunted him into his office to strip, chucking a blanket in as an afterthought. He couldn’t even manage an embarrassed blush – that’s how cold he was. He obeyed the medic’s command, after all, wet clothes were a death sentence.
Bagin was sent in a few minutes later, instructed to monitor and to stoke the fire in the hearth.
“The girl-”
“Calm yourself, professor. Pesselle will most likely bring her in here. This room is infernally hot.”
As if on cue, three of the Medical Corp opened the door, two of whom were carrying the girl on a stretcher. She was out cold, her raven black hair still damp and plastered on her forehead. The rattle in her chest was worrisome, but not something that Pesselle couldn’t work her magic on.
The girl’s stretcher was laid before the hearth and one of the medics remained in the room, told by Pesselle to be on standby in case their unconscious patient woke up. Laventon sighed, looking at this poor child and scootching a little closer to lay a hand on hers, her fingers twitched but she didn’t wake. He didn’t want her to wake up alone.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn.
Her name was Dawn.
That was all she seemed to recall.
That first night when she woke up in a panic, shivering and drawing the blankets tighter around herself, he was able to temporarily assuage her fears. Laventon was the one who convinced her to drink some broth and tea. It was Laventon who interjected on Dawn’s behalf as Kamado and Cyllene debated on what to do with her.
“She’s young! A young mind is moldable and inquisitive.” When that didn’t seem to move either the commander or captain, Laventon was quick to stammer out that he needed another research assistant. “Rei is a wonderful young man, but Dawn… she’s practically fearless. She would be an invaluable asset to my little team.”
His voice was bordering on pleading because he knew what happened to those who were not useful to the team. Kamado seemed skeptical and Cyllene looked as unreadable as ever.
Laventon would stake his reputation on it. If she failed, he failed.
He had seen her inquisitive nature when he took her back to the beach to find any possession that might have arrived with her. She seemed a little wary of the water but spent most of the time rummaging through the sand and surf asking questions about his research. Dawn hung on to his every word, beaming when he told her about his excursions to the north of the continent where a few species of penguin could be found.
He knew she was chock full of potential. It was just a matter of harnessing it.
The conversation that ensued between the professor and the soon-to-be researcher was candid. It had to be. Neither Captain Cyllene nor Commander Kamado would be sensitive to her situation, so Laventon merely did his best to mentally prepare her for the meeting that he was not permitted to attend.
She passed Cyllene’s test with flying colors and was in the field the next day with him and Rei at the tidal pools. Dawn would snatch crabs from the depths with lightning reflexes, careful to avoid pinching as she called out measurements and sex to Rei for each specimen.
A charming little quirk she developed over time was to thank every crab before tossing them into a bucket, so the creature was not counted twice that day. Laventon would then carefully tag each crab for future researching purposes and return them to the pools. With the three of them, they could get the work done with twice the speed, since Rei was hesitant to collect anything from the water; he was happy to just record numbers and sketch each specimen pulled from the pools.
“Professor,” Rei was bringing a small wagon for their supplies as the tides slowly began to reclaim the shore. Laventon looked over at Dawn as he dabbed at his forehead in the mid-afternoon heat, trying to avoid sweat in his eyes. “Thank you… for vetting me.”
Oh.
“Of course, my dear girl! Of course. I couldn’t ask for an assistant as hands-on as you.”
Dawn offered him a wobbly smile in return, sniffling quietly before dipping some of the instruments into the water to get the grit and grime off them.
They returned to the village in amiable silence.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
It took every fiber of his being not to panic. Rei was talking so fast, breathless and dizzy, but the words didn’t make sense – well, all but four.
Dawn in the water.
Since nearly drowning when Laventon found her, Dawn had been reluctant to get near water where she couldn’t see the bottom. Although he had done his best to route her research inland, Cyllene occasionally had her out on ships to take stock of the variety of fish surrounding the continent of Hisui.
On those days, Dawn would return to his office wordlessly, deposit the reports that Cyllene had already pored over into his overflowing in-bin, collapsed onto the sofa, and cocooned herself up in an afghan. It was an ordeal, but one that he found quite understandable given her circumstances.
Rei had found her, unresponsive and cold, on the rocks. Although close to the same age, Rei was smaller than Dawn, she was at least three inches and twenty pounds heavier than the other teen and, despite this, he single-handedly hauled her up the muddy path from the tide pools and the half mile to the village. The professor only just took in the splatters of mud and blood on the uniform newly adorned with tears from the branches snagging him as he ran. Blood dribbled from his balled fists, his head hung as he mumbled to himself about being faster.
If I had been faster… If I had realized sooner…
If, if, if –
“You did all you could, Rei. You mustn’t blame yourself for this. You hear me? You mustn’t. No use in it.”
He gently pried the young man’s hand open and took stock of the gravel and dirt embedded into the heels of his hands. Rei must have fallen carrying her. One pant leg was torn open at the knee and extended down almost to his ankle, it bore similar damage to his hands.
Laventon instructed him to sit so he might tend to his superficial wounds before Pesselle discovered that he avoided the medical wing. He wanted her to focus on Dawn, so he quickly fled to Laventon’s office.
With soft tipped forceps that he usually reserved for insect specimens, Laventon removed the gravel and gently washed the wounds with soap and water to avoid infection.
“Dawn will be alright.”
He said, unsure if he was saying it to assuage Rei’s or his own fears.
Dawn was made of tougher stock than that…
It just didn’t make sense to Laventon why she would have been down there at all in such a tumultuous storm. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t know until she awoke, and he had the distinct feeling that the answer would be unsatisfactory.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
He can’t say he didn’t notice the dramatic heel turn that Dawn took after her second, near-fatal drowning. Cyllene’s steely gaze flicked almost imperceptibly to him and then back to the eager girl before her, her expression neutral as she asked why she wanted to spend more time on the ships.
“I can’t avoid the water forever. If I don’t learn out at sea where I have no choice but to be surrounded by water, when else will I learn?”
While the reasoning wasn’t so sound, Cyllene wasn’t going to turn down a young, able body. Her stints on a research vessel and then fishing boat were – as the two captains tried to politely put it – filled with nausea. With Dawn’s fear of the water dulled with her three weeks at sea, she returned to her work with Laventon with little fanfare and worked just as hard as she ever had.
Something was different about her.
He couldn’t put his finger on it, but Dawn was different.
Almost distant.
She kept asking for assignments in parts of the region that were not well explored by the Galaxy Team. Even as Laventon tried to object, Kamado and Cyllene were swift to silence him, as the ultimate goal was to explore.
“Dawn…” Laventon loathed himself for even speaking up. His young associate was chatting away about her recent mission which involved her going to the far eastern shores where, or so he was told, the waters were warm, and a volcano smoked ominously just off the sugary white sand shores. “I’m worried about you.”
Her excited expression was wiped away with an abrupt and confused frown.
What was she doing wrong? She was doing exactly what the captain and commander wanted, so why would he say something like that? She didn’t understand.
His mouth went dry, his hand absently scratching his scalp under his woolen hat, which was just a vain attempt to avoid eye contact. He really did make this awkward.
“Er, what I suppose I mean is…” Laventon took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, trying to slow down the flurry of words crowding his brain and trying to leave his mouth all at once. “The progress you’ve made is phenomenal. You’re doing such good work for the team… but I feel as though you’re pushing yourself too hard.”
That at least made her face soften.
“My job is important, professor. If I don’t do it, who’s gonna get it done?”
That was true to some degree. He was only one person and, although he appreciated him thoroughly for everything he did, Rei was not as willing to forge new paths to record the land of Hisui for future generations of field conservationists.
“I suppose,” he admitted, offering her a sheepish smile. “I just don’t want to see such a brightness burn out too soon. Like Eos, you need your rest to be the best version of you.”
Although the comparison seemed lost on her, Dawn did not ask him to explain, she offered him a tired smile and approached him with open arms. Laventon readily accepted her hug, resting his cheek on the top of her head as he felt her heave out a great sigh.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
“Good gracious!”
“You promised me you wouldn’t freak out!”
“Dawn – This is…”
Laventon was at a loss for words. So was Rei beside him, his jaw flapping like a fish gasping for oxygen. He had seen her toting that strange flute around for some time now and he had just assumed it was something she had bought to pass the time on long journeys across the continent.
That was not the case.
She played her flute and was swept up in bright light before appearing before them with the stark white tail of a harp seal pup where her legs should have been. Rei had stumbled back into a table, knocking the papers and instruments to the floor and Laventon stood motionless. It suddenly made a lot more sense why she spent more time in the uncharted wilderness.
“Are you… Is that thing cursed? How is this happening?”
If Dawn had been expecting him to be upset, she was mistaken. In fact, Laventon, after the initial shock, was beaming with excitement. Mysteries like these were the most intriguing things that the natural world had to offer!
The story had its holes, of course. Dawn had them both sit down so she could explain the whole thing, and both were glad that she had, because each twist and turn left them in greater shock than the last.
“A whole society of mer-people?”
He was almost giddy with excitement, but Rei was quick to put a hamper on it as he said something chilling under his breath.
“Beni did see a monster… They’re the ones destroying the ships…”
“They’re not monsters!”
“They destroyed ships, Dawn!”
“Alright, alright.” Laventon stood up quickly, inserting himself between the two teens with hands outstretched to signal them to stop. “We cannot pass judgment on these creatures – No, people. I apologize. We came into their territory, unwittingly or not, and they’re responding to that invasion. However, they seem like intelligent, emotional beings from what you’ve told us, so perhaps we can come to some sort of arrangement with-”
“I don’t think that’s possible, professor.”
Dawn interjected, nibbling on her lower lip. She had tried to get them to stop without outing herself as a human herself, but they still felt threatened. Laventon thought of a cornered cat baring its fangs, hissing and spitting in warning, but the Galaxy Team did not know of the existence of mer-people, let alone the signals of warning they were issuing.
Oh, what a sticky situation indeed.
Did these people have something to do with the rising waters that were threatening Galaxy Team? Each week the waters slowly swallowed up more and more of the land, forcing them to move further inland and abandon all the progress they had made. It would certainly benefit them. If this continued, then the team would have no choice but to return from whence they came, but Dawn told them no.
“It hurts them, too. They have these… Sacred animals. Some of them live on land and others have been going berserk. I’ve been – uh… Dealing with them.”
His eye twitched, trying to ignore the idea that Dawn was explicitly putting herself in danger to ask something else. The mere thought alone made his stomach churn uncomfortably. However unprofessional, Laventon had come to care for Dawn like she was his own, hence the immediate desire to tell her to never do anything so dangerous ever again.
He didn’t need to say anything however, because Rei did it for him.
“Didn’t you say one of those animals was a turtle the size of a mountain?”
Ludicrous. Preposterous. Absurd.
Dawn’s redirection spoke volumes.
“I need some way to neutralize jellyfish venom… From a big jellyfish.”
Laventon sat down heavily, head in his hands because he was starting to develop a headache. He was a scientist. He was trained to be open to any and all possibilities – magic though? Dawn had literally performed the impossible before his eyes.
In a sudden movement, the professor got up, startling both teens, and strode across the room to riffle through his unorganized papers.
“I have to have something here about jellyfish.”
It might have been impossible, but if Dawn needed his help, then he would do everything in his power to assist her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Cyllene levelled a hard stare at him and Laventon glowered right back.
Nothing he said swayed Kamado. Everyone looked at her like she was a monster when she was very much a sweet girl who had only ever done her best to help. He was inches from a row, one he would lose in heartbeat, and it would have been worth it for how Kamado treated Dawn.
Since Cyllene by way of Zisu had prevented him from engaging in any sort of fight, Laventon was now trying to drag a rowboat across Prelude Beach and again found resistance.
“Please move, captain.”
He was trying to keep his voice level. It wasn’t working.
“You know I can’t. We need your expertise now more than ever in the village. I cannot in good conscious standby and let you go on a fruitless rescue mission.”
“And I cannot in good conscious stand here while she’s out there fending for herself while the whole of Hisui gets devoured by the sea!” Laventon felt the blood rushing to his head, his thoughts as clouded as the blackening sky above. He had failed. “I can’t…”
The captain stood before, as unmoved as she had been before, and Laventon felt like all the wind was knocked out of him. All he could do was look down at her pleadingly and Cyllene’s face was stone-cold.
“I ordered Dawn to not die alone out there. She will come back to us – alive. Perhaps not unscathed, but she will come back. Now please, Professor Laventon, return to the village. We haven’t much time.”
Begrudgingly, he followed.
Zisu and Sanqua were in the process of evacuating, Pesselle and her staff helping the elderly and infirmed into a cart that was to take them further inland. Cyllene and Laventon splashed through the rapidly rising water, the encroaching sea which had been inching inland was now flooding the newly erected houses of Jubilife Village. Timbers groaned against the rushing rapids but were temporarily still upright.
Sanqua called out to them that they must hurry, because the structures would not hold for long.
Cyllene took charge in the commander’s conspicuous absence, barking out orders to her fellow captains and to the inhabitants. Laventon made a mad dash for Galaxy Hall where Rei was scrambling to collect all of his notes and books – anything that would be of use to them. His method was haphazard, but the professor wordlessly joined him and crammed a bag full before shoving his assistant out.
“Is anyone else here? Anyone?”
Laventon called frantically, but there was only the sound of water from outside.
He left Galaxy Hall, the stream flowing through Jubilife already overtaking its banks and the smell of salt stinging his nose as waves crashed into the western gate. Professor Laventon did not look back, only looking up to the blood red sky and silently begging Dawn for forgiveness and the Almighty for her safety.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
She barely got the words out as Laventon tackled her into a hug.
One so tight that she wheezed, but she returned his hug with equal vigor. He didn’t care about the mer-people staring daggers at him, his analytical mind didn’t immediately take over to have him barrel over and immediately begin examining every inch of Dawn’s new friends.
No.
Professor Laventon just held her, his knees aching from where they made hard contact with the sand and his heart pounding so hard and fast that he was fearful of a bout of tachycardia if he did not force himself to take a breath.
“You’re safe. Oh Dawn, thank the Almighty, you’re safe.”
She had some scratches and bruises, but like Cyllene suggested, she was mostly unscathed. Although not a particularly religious man, Laventon couldn’t help but thank all the gods listening for keeping her alive.
He drew back, carefully swiping the quiet tears from her cheeks and scrubbed at his own scruffy face with his forearm. It was only after that that he felt several pairs of eyes burning through him and he shrunk away from the imposing figures looming behind his young assistant. Dawn seemed to notice the radiating emotions from behind her and turned to say he was a friend.
“Professor Laventon taught me everything. He’s my biggest cheerleader.”
Dawn had to stifle a wet giggle when Laventon blushed, unconsciously rubbing the back of his neck with embarrassment. His reply was sheepish,
“Suppose I am…”
One mer-person, by far the biggest one there, emitted a low growl of contempt that made Laventon wince.
“Actually, that’s not fair. Ingo is tied with you.”
Dawn gestured to the merman in question, the bright blue of the sky sending his face into shadow and his folded arms made him remarkably unapproachable. The fact that his torso extended into the body of an absolutely massive orca did not send the best message either.
However –
“You, er – You looked after her, Mr. Ingo?”
He cleared his throat, but it still sounded a bit shrill.
“Yes, I took Dawn on as my charge when I became aware of her transformations. She has been a part of my cab for a considerable time now.”
Professor Laventon swallowed his fear, trying his best to replace it with the gratitude he knew was inside him under the intimidation.
“Thank you. Thank you so much.”
The merman lifted his hand and tipped a hat that Laventon had not realized was atop his head, his dark expression momentarily clear and he realized that he had nothing to worry about. He and Mr. Ingo were the same. They cared about Dawn and that was the only understanding they really needed.
“Would you mind introducing me to everyone else?”
The professor said after a moment, Dawn pulled him to his feet after she played a brief, haunting tune on her flute. This time, she hugged him properly, her fingers practically wringing the back of his shirt and her face pressed into the filthy tweed vest. That was all he needed to know that she had just been through an ordeal and was keeping up a front because that’s what she always did.
This whole time she had been living a double life and there were still unknown consequences to her actions. He didn’t need to ask to know she was terrified and didn’t know how to let it show to anyone but him.
“There, there.”
He soothed, feeling her sag against him. Laventon exhaled slowly, feeling her shoulders shake with a silent sob.
“Come what may, I will always be beside you and, in the end, it will all be alright.”
With that assurance and a hard gulp of air, Dawn turned around to begin introducing her mentor to the various members of the Diamond and Pearl Clans in attendance.
Even with his worries with Dawn, he had to tamp down the excitement he felt from being able to identify helpful adaptations and deviations from human and various animal anatomy.
By the time dusk rolled around, the one Dawn called Adaman – the leader of the Diamond Clan – was half blushing, half smirking as the professor marveled at the intricate webbing between his fingers.
Both leaders were giving him their assurances that they would assist the Galaxy Team in any way they could while the ocean slowly receded. It would be some time before that happened though, so they whole village took refuge in the skeletal remains of a temple on top of the mountain.
“Truthfully, I should not be the one negotiating this. You should really talk to Commander Kamado-”
“We would prefer not to at present.”
Irida’s voice was icy and Adaman pulled his hand back, a snarl morphing his face at the mention of the name.
“Erm… Perhaps Captain Cyllene then?”
She was the next best option, of course. All three mer-people turned to Dawn and only turned back to Laventon after receiving an assenting nod.
Thank Almighty. He was no politician.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The constant flux between water and land was usual for Dawn by this point. Much of the unusual became common place by this point. The awkward first phase of the villagers meeting the mer-people was long over. Full cooperation was essential for survival.
Laventon likened it to anemones and clownfish.
Symbiosis.
The clans seemed to respond particularly well to him and Rei in particular, since their interest was in the natural world there was a lot less explanation involved with basic day-to-day activities that mer-people engaged in. They also were extremely careful with the world around them, admiring and studying, but never interfering.
All the wardens, however begrudgingly, allowed Laventon to examine them – and he was diligent but deferential. Since Dawn trusted him, they trusted him, and the professor would never betray that trust.
Once the waters lowered, Jubilife Village began to surge with life once more. Kamado had issued an apology to Dawn; everyone agreed it was half-hearted at best, but Dawn forgave him. The sad smile and haunted look to her eyes made it plain that she didn’t bear the commander any chagrin, because she knew exactly what he was afraid of.
For a time, everything seemed so normal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Dawn crawled back to Jubilife, blood matted in her hair and dried on her face save for the streak marks her tears had cut through it.
Volo.
Laventon had such admiration for the man. He had been such a help to Dawn when she had been abandoned on all sides. He even spent a lot of money on a bottle of Beni’s good sake to thank the merchant.
He had been conspiring. Boiling with an unseen rage and contempt that had nearly killed Dawn, twice.
Laventon insisted on telling the clan leaders – alone. He didn’t think Cyllene or Kamado would be able to explain it with the same level of anger that the man had burning through every capillary and neuron.
Adaman and Irida’s reactions ranged from confusion to shock to an unbridled fury that Laventon only gladly stoked the flames of. He would have wrung Volo’s neck himself, but he had to be long gone. Perhaps still skulking around the sea floor, out of reach of the consequences he would face for nearly killing Dawn at the hands of Galaxy Team, but not of the clans.
“She defeated Volo and the many-armed serpent, but at great cost. She’s laid up in the infirmary now. Our finest doctor is tending to her as we speak. As I have come to understand, the beast brought her to the surface as an act of atonement before absconding… I don’t know what became of Volo.”
He spit the last word. The damnable snake in the grass!
“That bloody bastard!”
Laventon couldn’t help it, barking out his frustration and ripping his hat off his head. He was shaking.
Twice.
Twice on his watch, Dawn had nearly died.
What good was he?
Laventon cleared his throat. Providing a description of the man and telling both leaders that Volo was extremely dangerous, the professor implied that no human punishment would be suitable for deeds.
“I’m sorry. I must get back to Dawn… She’s a most stubborn patient.”

Rewrote this fic so many times:
Yandere!Laventon x Reader
Warnings: Reader is isekai-ed and unhappy about it, feelings of betrayal, injury, drugging
———————————————————
You’ve been through this before: being introduced to the Pokémon world.
Laventon is your Professor, which makes sense since he’s the first one you meet and wearing a labcoat. He says that you fell from the sky, and you’re content to believe you’re in a very realistic dream.
The air is clear, the sky is blue, and it’s absolutely fucking freezing in your shorts.
You go through the motions, meeting your rival character Akari, the tough boss Cyllene, and establishing your ‘home town.’
It isn’t until you manage to scrape your hands while catching Pokémon that you realize you’re not in a dream.
The blood running down your fingers makes you ‘wake up’ in a sense. Laventon rushes over to bandage your hands as you walk towards him and Akari in a daze. You look at them both with new understanding.
You’re in the Pokémon world.
These are real breathing people, not 3D models on a screen.
And you come to a new understanding of how you need to do everything you can to go home.
You open the mission on your new Arcphone.
There are people relying on you back home, they must be worried.
You can’t make them wait.
————————————————————————
You keep it very professional all things considered.
The Survey Corps members are all reasonably kind people, but you don’t have any intention of getting close.
You just keep your head down and finish as many Pokédex entries as you can without working yourself to the bone, occasionally joining Laventon and the other Survey Corps members for Potato Mochi to celebrate. Otherwise you keep to yourself.
Many people try to ask about yourself but you keep them at arms length. You can’t lose focus on your mission, and any time spent trying to connect with others is better off going into survey work.
You sometimes talk to Laventon or Cyllene, mostly on business but with your attempts to keep yourself from getting sick and keeling over you spend time with them.
Paperwork mostly, but Laventon goes out of his way to include you in the small gatherings that happen within the corps.
You appreciate it, really, but you don’t see much point in team-building when you intend to leave. Laventon often walks away with a strained smile when you refuse the invitation.
Besides, what could you even talk about? That in your world none of this is real? It’s a wonder the presence of your new phone isn’t a paradox in and of itself.
So no, you tell them about the most basic parts of yourself, leaving anything else in vague statements.
And cry into the pillow that came with your futon when you feel especially homesick.
————————————————————————
The frenzied nobles add a new quirk to the mix. The Alpha Pokémon were already terrifying in their ferocity, but the frenzied Noble Pokémon?
You think whatever put you here just is interested in killing you in more extreme scenarios by the day.
Running for your life desperately pelting Pokémon potpourri, so panicked you don’t even have the breath to scream when you get hit by the damned thing.
But you work through it.
Laventon bandages your scrapes with gentle scolding about your wellbeing, but you simply just sigh and crunch numbers in your head to catch up on how much time you wasted fixing the clan problems.
Laventon offers quiet nights so you can recover and get back into shape enough to go back. You say your thanks when he offers to brew a tea that helps you sleep.
He thankfully doesn’t bring up the nightmares you wake up from with a gasp during survey expeditions. You keep the fact that your nightmares persist into your house in Jubilife to yourself.
Laventon is kind enough to keep you distracted with research talk until you excuse yourself when your eyelids flutter and he walks you back to your house.
—————————————————————————
Though you do find somebody to cling to in the whirlwind of activity. One Warden Ingo who mirrors the lost look in your eyes.
Though yours don’t glow in near darkness like his.
Ingo is the first shuddering breath you allow yourself to take, where he opens up about the memories that linger outside of his reach and you feel compelled to talk about the people you miss everyday.
You tell Ingo almost everything though you have to leave out the entirety of Pokémon being fictional, out of fear his straining psyche would deteriorate.
Of course, the Pokédex comes first, but you make an effort to keep up correspondence with Ingo. Letters fly back and forth between you two, information on the native Pokémon and their habitats is precious to you and you offer a sound board for some memories he has of his time.
You wave off the weekly invitations to spend training with Ingo. Pokémon battling is a necessary skill for the wilderness of Hisui and genuinely you have a good time. Even taking offers from Ingo for help with the Pokédex in the Coronet Highlands.
The Pearl Wardens hear about your bonding with Ingo and offer their assistance as well, and you’re extremely thankful. You even take up offers to go by yourself with the Pearl Clan without the help of the Survey Corps, Ingo helping to escort you to a settlement and take you back to Jubilife after a week of work.
Laventon approaches you in a panic when you both come back to Jubilife terrified that you went and got hurt. But you wave him off explaining where you were, and happily hand him a few journals worth of notes and show off your haul of newly captured Pokémon.
It’s the first time you see Laventon so off balance. You feel terribly guilty as Laventon just quietly collects your research and turns away to walk back to Headquarters.
Ingo escorts you the short walk to your house before you separate, to which he asks if he can join you for dinner. You feel slightly deflated with what happened but invite him over anyway, happy for the distraction of what happened.
You go to Headquarters to give your progress to Cyllene, who looks impressed at your wide berth of work. It’s only when you turn to leave that Cyllene stops you.
“We were worried for you.” She says, her hands steepled as she levels her piercing gaze at you.
“Ah, my apologies. I will alert you in the future if I intend to go out on my own-“
“You are appreciated here. People like you.” She says, the weight of that statement makes your stomach churn
“Thank you.” You say, because you don’t have any idea of what else to say.
There’s a very telling pause that only makes you fidget with your hands.
“That’s all, dismissed,” she says with a sigh, something you’ve never heard from Cyllene, and goes back to the large stacks of paperwork on her desk.
You’re happy to be able to get away from the Survey Corps.
Though you swallow the hard lump in your throat and blink back tears as you trudge back to the house.
———————————————————————-
Ingo is mercifully quiet as you help each other with a dinner, you peeling potatoes while he chops vegetables. They’re combined into the hot pot as you carefully lay pieces of meat into the hot oil.
“You’ve made great progress on the Pokédex,” Ingo finally says.
“Yes, there’s about 30 entries left. Mostly just raising Pokémon.” You say back. You push the idea of the box Legendaries into the back of your mind before your migraine gets worse.
“You’ve been here for a month yes?” He asks.
“Yes, just about.”
“Have you told anyone else?” He asks.
“Told anyone else what?”
“That the Pokédex is your only way home.” He says.
You just stare at him, he uses his chopsticks to stir the veggies and flip the meat so it cooks evenly.
“Ah, so that’s a firm no then.” He says with a sigh, running his hand over his goatee.
You just turn to grab two clay bowls and the soju you keep in your small little cellar in the floor.
You hand Ingo his bowl and once everything is finished cooking, you both set down to eat. Ingo is mercifully silent, though accepts a few swigs of your soju as you pass it back and forth.
You place your bowl on the tatami mat, laying your chopsticks across the rim, and sit back on your hands as you try to gather the words you want to say. You look at Ingo.
“If…” You start, and Ingo meets your eyes, patiently waiting. “If you could go home, would you?”
Ingo blinks, fiddles with his goatee as he looks down. You watch his eyes focus on the floor, the quirk of his eyebrows, and the subtle tap of his fingers against the tatami floor in a rhythm you don’t recognize.
“I would,” he says, after he meets your gaze again.
“So would I. So to follow that, if you knew you were going to leave, would it be fair to get close to someone knowing you’re not going to stay?”
Ingo answers you with a deep sigh, his free hand moves to the brim of his hat.
“That’s why. I want to go home Ingo. I want to see my friends, my family… it doesn’t feel fair to get close knowing that the first opportunity I have… I’d leave this world in a heartbeat.” You say.
You get up to take your dishes and place them aside, you hand Ingo a little clay bowl with a lid for him to grab the leftovers.
“I see…” he says.
“So I’ve been told to finish the Pokédex, and I’m going to,” you say, turning to face him. “And as soon as I do, we’re going to go home.”
You offer your hand out to Ingo, and his eyes flicker back and forth, searching you for something. You know there’s nothing there but your honest feelings.
He clasps his callused and scared hand against yours and gives you the soft smile he reserves for when he loses.
—————————————————————-
You walk Ingo to the door and say goodbye after he puts on his shoes. Though he walks back in after immediately stepping outside holding a bamboo box.
“This was left on your stoop,” he says, shock overriding his typical neutral frown.
You take it from him and open it.
Fresh Dango on skewers, two in particular.
You gasp with pleasant surprise and offer one to Ingo. He tries to refuse but with mild goading he accepts the present.
“I wonder who could have left it…” he says, trailing off before enjoying a mouthful of the sweet dango.
“No clue.” You say, smiling as the man manages to stuff his face full of the sweet treat like a chipmunk before heading off into the night.
You enjoy your snack, though the sweetness makes your heart hurt, knowing even if you had a secret admirer you wouldn’t be able to return their feelings.
You wouldn’t be sticking around to find out.
————————————————————————-
From there everything swivels sideways, from Palkia and Dialga, to Volo and Giratina, you barely managed to regain your focus.
The way you were ousted from Jubilife struck you particularly hard, no matter how kind Cogita and the other clans were. You didn’t try to make friends, but when no one was able to stop your expulsion your resolve was cemented.
You were an outsider, clear and simple.
So with three legendary beasts on your team you ran yourself hard and fast to the finish line. During your exile you had the opportunity to get close with Diamond Clan members and their wardens so you had a vast network of people to rely on.
A vast enough network that you left Jubilife for the final time.
You send your data to Laventon with a Staraptor you trained for correspondence. The sweet darling had been a Starly for your letters back and forth to Ingo but the poor bird wanted to evolve once your correspondence evolved to Pearl Clan, Diamond Clan, and Jubilife.
You keep all your letters brief, though Laventon often made the effort to tell you about the goings on in Jubilife: how Akari was progressing, Cyllene getting startled by the guy with the Weedle out front, etc.
Laventon often sent you treats as well, which you thanked him for, but no matter how subtly he tried to reel you back in to Jubilife you stayed in the wilderness. You didn’t want to offer anything to Laventon you knew you couldn’t give.
You couldn’t offer a friendship you knew wouldn’t last.
—————————————————————————
You finish the last of the data Laventon requested, leaning back with a heaving sigh.
You set up camp in a former Garchomp den, long since abandoned, and if you were worried about the Pokémon coming back your Godlike attack dogs would’ve made quick work of the poor thing.
You set up a fire, and quickly manufacture dinner, small tears of relief being grossly licked off by your starter Pokémon. You shove the dumb baby’s face away with a laugh, and get back to your set up.
It’s when you lean back against your curled up little menagerie of a team you realize you’ll miss them. The god Pokémon in your team were friendly, but you knew they were there because of your purpose set by the god of Pokémon itself.
Though you would happily take the image of Giratina rewarding your well placed pets with the most haunting purr noise to your grave.
So you gathered up the fancy parchment you saved for the moment when you knew you’d leave. You started your farewell letters to Jubilife first: thanking Cyllene for her kindness in offering you meals and a home to stay in, and asking her to release your Pokémon in the stables. Telling Akari she was bright and would excel in Team Galaxy and wherever she set her sights on in the future, how she should have an open heart and an open mind.
Laventon… you wrote a sincere appreciation. Without his word, without his effort, you more than likely would have died out in the wilderness. You told him you were thankful for his kindness, that you wished you could’ve taken the time to grow closer. You give him your best wishes, and make sure to bundle the finished pieces of your research with his letter.
You send your Staraptor to send the letters off, giving the sweet mon a Sitrus Berry for her troubles. You give her orders to drop the letters off and then come back immediately.
You wake up when your Arcphone buzzes and tells you that God saw and recognized your mission was completed and told you to head to Spear Pillar. So you pack up your stuff and your team, and head off towards your final destination.
———————————————————————
You try to take in the journey as you make your way towards Spear Pillar, you write to Iridia and Adaman, extending your gratitude from their kindness and willingness to support you at your lowest.
You write to Cogita as well, the beautiful older woman was given some golden nuggets to make up for her generosity in feeding you and letting you stay in her home.
You write to Ingo telling him to hurry to Spear Pillar, you promise to wait for him to summon Arceus as your way of going home, and you thank him for being patient.
After that it’s slowly releasing your Pokémon as you go, your Staraptor, your starter, and the legendary trio being the only ones left in your team. You feed the Noble Pokémon treats in thanks for them helping you one last time.
You get to Spear Pillar and set up camp, with the Azur Flute.
And wait.
————————————————————-
You wait.
And wait.
And wait.
It’s the start of the second day when you start to get restless.
You go to search for food with the help of the Noble Braviary bringing you to the base. Hoping to find Ingo in the wilderness… but you only find local Pokémon.
You pace at camp from then, focusing on feeding yourself and your Pokémon while you wait.
On the evening of the fourth day you see a shape in the dark as someone approaches you from the summit and you eagerly jump to your feet.
“Ingo?” You yell, waving to them.
“Ah, no! It’s me,” the ever enigmatic Professor calls back.
Your heart drops.
“Oh, Professor, what are you doing here?” You say, trying to mask the disappointment in your voice.
“I received your letter,” he says. He gently lets a leather bag down onto the dirt near the fire. “I didn’t want that to be the last conversation we had.”
He sits across from you, rummaging through his bag until he pulls out a familiar looking tin can, holding it with a triumphant smile.
“Care for a spot of tea?” He says, giving you a wistful look. “One last time?”
You can’t find it in your heart to deny him this. Considering the care he always showed you, you figure it’s only fair to take up his offer.
———————————————————————
You sit in the silence as Laventon sets up the kettle and the tea above the fire pit. Any time you hear a noise you quickly turn to see if it’s Ingo only to be disappointed every time.
“Are you waiting for someone?” Laventon asks.
“Yes, I asked Ingo to meet me here.” You say.
“Ah you two were quite close after the Lord Electrode incident.”
“Yup.” You feel bad, but the anxiety that Ingo stood you up overrides your need to be polite. You call your Staraptor, asking her to search for Ingo, and send the fierce bird off into the night.
Laventon pulls out a set of tea cups, pouring one for you and one for himself. You accept the outstretched cup with a sigh and hold it in your hands while you give it a moment to cool. He gives your starter a Jubilife Muffin, to which the darling happily eats up.
The wind picks up and sends a chill through your warm Survey Uniform, the night air is cold to begin with much less at the peak of a mountain.
Laventon clears his throat, and your eyes snap to him.
“Would you, mind terribly, if you could recall the Gods of Sinnoh?”
Oh. Right.
“Oh I’m sorry,” you say, quickly ushering them into their respective Pokéballs. “I’ve gotten used to them with time, I can imagine how intimidating they are.”
“Indeed,” he says with a good natured chuckle. “It’s not every day you meet a god much less three.”
You nod and slowly sip your tea. It’s bitter, but considering how tough luxuries like sugar are difficult to come by, you manage to push through it. You wish you had some honeycomb though.
“Then again, you’re not an ordinary, every day person.”
You just keep your eye on Laventon, goosebumps run up your arms but you chock that up to the chill.
“Please, answer me honestly,” he asks, and you feel all your nerves stand on edge.
“Did you ever… did you ever consider a future in Hisui?”
You wanted to avoid this.
“I told you in my letter I wish we could’ve had the ability to get closer to you-“
“So why didn’t you?” He asks, his mouth strains a neutral grimace, sounding clearly hurt.
“I couldn’t-,” you start to say, swallowing a lump of tea to ease the tightness in your throat from your nerves. “I couldn’t in good conscience be your friend knowing that I’d leave.”
The Professor sighs, crossing his arms.
“That’s what you told Ingo did you not-“
How did he know that?
“-You still wanted to be friends though, you wouldn’t have come to the Survey Corps parties if you didn’t…”
Your mouth feels dry as you just stare in confusion as the Professor continues to ramble.
“If you had just been honest from the beginning I doubt we would have gotten to where we are now,” he says with a sigh. “I’m afraid it’s too late to go back to how things were. Your resolve was too steady.”
“Professor,” you manage to say past a heavy tongue. “Were you listening to me and Ingo’s conversations?”
“Only because you refused to say anything to anyone else.” He says.
What?
“What?” You ask, feeling a heaviness settle on your body.
“I had thought… I had hoped with our relationship that you would have been able to talk to me about your plans. I admired your drive to finish the Pokédex, I had even hoped…” he trails off, and then looks at you with eyes gleaming.
You meet his gaze, feeling nigh paralyzed.
“I had hoped that you could possibly come to… reciprocate my feelings for you.” He says, with a woosh of breath like he’s just lifted a heavy rock.
“You’d hoped that my desperate attempts to go home was actually a sign that I liked you? What the actual fuck Lav?” You ask incredulously, your body starting to involuntarily shake with the stress. You stand with some difficulty, trying to keep your body calm, and stand away from the fire next your starter Pokémon.
You know your buddy would have been up on their feet by now, but one look over at your companion shows they’re completely unconscious.
He seems clearly shocked, his eyes follow down to where your legs shudder.
“You found me on the beach in my pajamas! You found me lost and alone in a world I didn’t know and!-“ You shout, throwing your hands up in frustration. “-and assumed that because I eagerly helped you with your career because I had a crush?!”
Laventon stands as well raising his hands in an attempt to calm you down.
“What of all the nights we spent putting the Pokédex together?” He asks, he takes a step around the fire towards you with a hand outstretched.
You stumble away from him trying to keep the fire between you.
“I spent time with you because I thought you were nice!” You say, throwing your hands up in frustration though it makes you dizzy.
You trip over your feet and fall, Laventon rushing over to help you. You just scream and call out to your starter Pokémon, trying to get to your feet.
The beast doesn’t even flick their ears at the stimulus and your heart drops down like an elevator from the top floor of the Hancock Building.
“Hey! You’re alright!” Laventon says, his hands land on your hips and you throw your weight as hard as you can away from him.
You feel heavy, like you’ve had weights tied to your limbs as you try to dig into the ground below you for leverage. You manage to pull yourself forward, but quickly lose steam, flopping to the earth.
You make a strangled yelp as Laventon slips his arms under yours and drags you back to the fire. You struggle as best as you can while you fight your eyelids closing shut.
He pulls your limp body onto your sleeping palette, and walks over to your starter. Poor thing completely unknowing to the world.
“Wait!” You yell. “Don’t!”
Laventon simply returns your Pokémon to their ball and turns around with an offended look.
“Did you genuinely think I would hurt them?” His eyes look misty as he turns towards you. “I’m a professor that studies Pokémon… I would never cause them harm!”
You can barely even keep your head up your body is so heavy.
“So you think drugging an unsuspecting person and their Pokémon isn’t harming them?” You manage somewhat coherently, the last of your words starting to slur.
“There won’t be any negative side effects, I’m a researcher first and foremost, I made sure.”
Laventon sighs, brushing the skin of your cheek as he sits by you on your sleeping palette.
“I wish it hadn’t been this way, I didn’t…” he sighs, you close your eyes unable to face his lies anymore. “I didn’t want this. But we’ll have a fresh start you and I, there’s a ship at Prelude Beach that will take us to Galar, my home region.”
You feel tears slide down your cheeks, even if you can’t budge your eyes open. Laventon just wipes them away with a handkerchief and soft coos of reassurances that make you want to puke.
“Ingo?” you warble, begging to God and Arceus that he’ll show up to stop this madness.
“Ah,” he says bitterly, a tone you’ve never heard from him before. “Don’t worry, Warden Ingo won’t be joining us.”
Oh god please.
Not Ingo.
He didn’t deserve that.
“You’re thinking the worst of me again, love.” He says, smoothing a finger over the quirk in your brow as you fight to remain conscious. “He simply never got your letter, I convinced your Staraptor to give me it instead.”
You let out a small gasp for air as your heart thuds harshly in your chest.
“So now it’ll be just the two of us. Making a future together… you will have to leave behind your flute, the Legendary Trio of course.
“Ah well we have an appointment with the ship captain at dawn so we must make our way down the mountain quickly,” he says as he gathers you up and onto his back, your arms dangling limply as he holds up your thighs.
“If you behave, you’ll get to wave goodbye when the sun rises.”
You slip away then.
Into the void.
Knowing you’ll never see Ingo…
or your friends…
or your family….
Ever again.

maybe lucy, cyllene, and/or rika with a clumsy s/o? doesn’t have to be a cutesy kind of clumsy either, i was thinking more like “s/o will literally trip over their own feet and just barely avoid hitting their limbs on any furniture meanwhile their normally stoic/serious/laidback gf watches like ???” lmao
an all women request... how rare lol
cw: mentions of bruises from being clumsy, fluff
characters: Lucy, Cyllene, Rika
💜Lucy🐍
🟣 She worries more actively than she would like to admit. Seeing you dinged up with bruises would make her fret a lot at first, and she assumes due to the countless ones littering your skin that someone had purposefully caused them rather than it being an incident between you and every inanimate object that dared cross your path. Really… You had a bruise on your knee from hitting it on a book that was on your bed. She would almost be impressed if it were not so concerning for her. She feels a bit flustered when Nolan chuckles at the sight of you covered in bruises. What was he thinking? He gets one of her signature glares in reply.
🟣 Her concern is best expressed through a harsh look and helping stop you from running into things or tripping over your own feet. It simply is maddening how you seem to be made to stumble and fall and cover yourself in bruises. She looks away for one moment, and you have bumped your arm hard into a doorknob. A quiet huff of frustration leaves her as she strides over to make sure that you are otherwise alright. A mark is already there to begin the telltale signs of a bruise to come. There is a helpless feeling in trying to save you from yourself. Part of her begins to just accept this is how things are.
🟣 Ultimately, though, she does still try to help you from running into things. Her Serviper is enlisted to help guide you, too. The serpent rushes over to drag you away from a door frame that you were talking too close to. She also finds herself pulling you into her side to help you keep balance. With her aid, the sheer amount of bruises does shrink. It gives her some peace of mind. Until she lets her guard drop again, and you somehow manage to both bump into a wall before stumbling over directly into a chair. Then she sits quietly, holding her drink and squinting her eyes. The game had been rigged since the beginning.
🌙Cyllene🌌
🌕 The bruises trigger her concern instantly as both your superior and your girlfriend. Did you gain these on a survey? What had caused them? She is truly ready to pull out her sword and show whatever dared put you in such a state, a terrifying visage of the Survey Corps Captain… Until she learns that the culprit was none other than yourself. She pinches the bridge of her nose and lowers her head when she learns that you had gathered them all by essentially tripping over things and running into various obstacles out in the wilds and in town. Her concern feels wasted… But, she desperately now wants to help you stop experiencing this issue.
🌕 Her concern comes in making sure you have well-fitted shoes, assuming that to be the main culprit of your clumsiness. Alas, that only helped a bit. She raises her head up from the paperwork on the desk before her when a loud thud rung out in the air. She then spies you holding your arm, having run into the door frame of her office. Her gaze narrows. How…? It was a double-wide entry… Just… She can only blink and ask if you need the infirmary, pointing to the connecting door in her office. When you say no, she only sighs. This was truly a situation… What if this got you hurt on a survey? She shuddered to think about you stumbling over while fighting a frenzied noble.
🌕 Her quest to help you become more balanced begins and ends quickly. She makes you do walking exercises and training moves with you to help improve your area awareness and movement. It seemed to be going well at first, and she felt immense relief that she would not have to deal with a report that would break her heart due to your clumsiness. This, however, was proven wrong when you went out on a survey to the highlands with Laventon and came back covered in bruises. She felt like banging her head on her desk. This was impossible. She was not one to admit defeat, but she could tell when something was a useless endeavour. In the end, she just asks you to please be more careful. For her sanity, you should try. She is about to act like her descendant on a certain mountain if you do not.
👔Rika🌶
🟤 Rika was enjoying a coffee while cuddling with her Clodsire when she watched you walk right into the coffee table. She instantly jumped up with wide eyes to check on you. Whatever instinct she had from watching Poppy toddle around and run into things as small children do entered her mind. This is when she discovers that this is a relatively common event in your life and lets out a sigh. How in the world did you make it through life? It was bewildering, truthfully. You just shrugged it off as life. She almost wants to, but the sheer number of bruises makes her rethink it. Really… How did Poppy have more balance than you?
🟤 Her plans are to help you become more aware of your surroundings, assuming that was the main culprit. She knows another person who often gets distracted and runs into things, so she asks you to keep yourself aware whenever you walk around. Just keep your eyes on the space surrounding you, she says. This seems to fix it – until she watches you trip over your own feet and only narrowly catch yourself on a chair nearby. Red eyes are shot wide as she debates how that was possible? Your shoes seemed to fit you well... Right? They were not anything that were tripping hazards, either. Somehow, her mind goes back to her Clodsire when it was a Wooper that would stumble over itself. It… was kind of cute... She has to stop herself from thinking that. This could be dangerous. Right…?
🟤 Her solution is a simple one. An agreeable one, to her. She keeps you close to her when you two walk around in public to help keep down the number of incidents. If you start to trip over your feet? She is right there to catch you and help laugh it off. Honestly, it bothers her a lot less than it should. Everything about it seems to be more of a curse than anything you can control. She is more than happy to give you a hand to get around. To her, it really is just cute. She knows it really should not be, but there is something adorable about you being a bit helpless. And… She is not the type to complain about having to be close to her partner. Having you pressed to her side is a non-issue to her. Oh, and if you do ever get a bruise in front of her, she will start to jokingly kiss it better. (You claim they go away faster when she does that. She just rolls her eyes in response.)

Hi can I request some alpha cyllene? It's been over a year and I'm still obsessed 😔 also alpha women are >>>>>>
Oh my God yes Alpha women I so agree with you Anon!
Alpha Cyllene Headcanons
The prime shining example of what every Alpha should be, she puts all other Alpha's to shame. Strong and reserved she is Harsh but only for the sake of survival. She is respectful of other secondary genders and doesn't abuse her Alpha title. Her scent is strong and opposin
g as if it is telling you to shut up and stand up straight. Making you behave for her without saying a word. But with omegas she's noticeably softer, chivalrous, and polite. She's respectful, a rare sight in the days of old. Omegas swoon and flaunt their status as an unmarked Omega, showing interest in her as an Alpha. Only for her to not bat an eye. Even as an Omega goes into preheat she is calm and unfazed. Being the one to guide them to safety while baring her teeth at other Alphas that begin to lose themselves to the sweet scent of heat. Even though Cyllene has remarkable resilience to her animalistic needs, she is not indestructible, falling hard to her ruts so much that she must shut herself off. Even with her mate she holds back her Alpha, not wanting to hurt them. It will take hours of teasing to break her iron will, but when she does, you'll be rewarded. She doesn't just mark, she claims syncing her teeth deep into your skin reading her hips against you over and over, hard and deep. Drowning the both of you in pleasure. Once Cyllene loses control it would be hard for her to get back; she'll never have that same resilience around you. Her biggest distraction, trying to work on paperwork until she gets a slight hint of your scent in the air. Suddenly, she can't stop thinking about you, and hardly any work gets done.
Thinking poorly of Alphas that just bark orders and show off their superiority by their strong scent. Cyllene firmly believes that it is not only in Alpha's job to lead and protect. Protecting your pack and community is much more critical than simply leading. Even though Cyllene would heavily discourage omegas in the Galaxy Crop from going out in the wild against the wild beasts, it is only out of worry for Omega's to put themselves in danger. However, their drive to help their fellow Galaxy members and their strength and courage are admirable—something she does not admit to often.
Cyllene can be a little protective of her mate especially if they are an Omega with her tiny habit of thinking omegas are made of glass. She will fret about the smallest cut on them if they are in the Galaxy Corp; she worries herself sick when their mate is out on excursions, so she has assigned herself to go with them on more than one occasion. The only thing stopping her is her mountains of paperwork. She is not too worried about other Alphas making their move on you as she trusts you facing off against Pokémon You have no problem dealing with humans, though she is happy to scent you and anything you give her; Cyllene is not immune to the happy chemical in her alpha brain that goes off when she knows that her mate smells like her. Besides, those same humans wouldn't dare go after Captain Cyllene's mate if they value their life.
Cyllene's protectiveness only worsens when you begin to nest inpreheat—picking you up and carrying you back to your nest when she sees you have crawled out of your mess of blankets and pillows. She would rather die by a wild charge from a Luxray than have you go outside into the village. She can only imagine what other less kind alphas would do to you. She tries to calm the inner snarling and bitter scent as you now stand before her, wanting to see her at the Galaxy building while she annoyedly urges you to go back home. All the while trying so hard to focus on the papers in her hand and not the intoxicating scent of your preheat and the way you flutter your little eyelashes at her, begging for her attention. She can't help the way her eyes drift away from yours, knowing full well that you're beautiful eyes would have her attention all day or how addicted she already is to your smell, resisting the urge to nuzzle into your neck.
As her omega, I wouldn't be surprised that she would treat you as an equal and as if the slightest gust of wind could knock you down.
Cyllene is a hard Alpha to anger; she just does not believe that losing control of one's emotions makes you look like anything other than an ill-mannered fool. You'll never forget the day that some Alpha, who reeked of alcohol, got into a one-sided fight with you, spouting insult after insult when things took a turn for the worst. He grabbed you suddenly; you got shivers done your spine as your partner stared at the both of you with an unreadable expression. Her eyes filled with a fiery wrath you'd never seen as her piercing gaze stared holes into the attacking Alpha. Cyllene did not say a word; instead walked forward. You could almost feel the ground shake with each step, the anticipation as if she was a big beast stalking forward to its prey. If the alpha had not and let him go and run away in Pure terror, yet he certainly did now when Cyllene, still in that same expression, grabbed his arm, squeezing it in an iron grip, causing the alpha pain. After this, You were scented till you reeked of her scent.
Cyllene likes to watch you while you make your nest. She thinks it's so cute watching you fret over which soft material to use, fluff the pillows till they're nice and soft, straighten out the blankets. Her eyes soften, watching you be cute, rubbing your face against the nest to mark it with your scent. Only for you to be even cuter when you curl up into a ball trying to lay comfortably in your newly made nest. She gets the urge to join you, go into your nest and wrap her arms around you.

Title: Thy will be done, on earth (as it is in heaven)
Warnings: Angst, Oneshot, Bad Ending, Tragedy
Rating: SFW
Main Pairing: Volo/Reader (Pokemon)
· · ──────────────────── · ·
You thought you had lost your sanity the day he left.
You returned to the Village a new being, a defeated shell and a bundle of tears and unpleasant feelings. The man you had fallen deeply in love with had betrayed you in the most dastardly way. He had used you for his own ends and on his way through the village, while Professor Laventon took you by the shoulders trying to reach the emptiness in which your gaze had sunk, you could not stop thinking about how stupid you had been.
Days went by and everything continued as before. You passed by the people of the Gingko company a couple of times a day and they looked at you with a pitying smile, knowing what you wanted to find. You went to visit Cogita who looked at you from the corner of her eye with concern, as you became more and more immersed in thoughts.
Thoughts of hate, thoughts of revenge, thoughts of destruction and thoughts of...love.
It became unbearable.
As the weeks went by, you began to scour every corner of Hisui in every possible mount and shape, as if your heart clung to the childish idea of finding it near a ruin, that it was all a bad dream. Your hands stiffened in the cold and the binding of the saddles and your gaze became more unsteady and deep.
Since there was no longer any possibility of returning home, you assumed to live your life as a hermit, going down to the village from time to time to greet Cyllene and exchange short words with Adaman and Irida. Things seemed to be going great for everyone.
Except for you.
You lived at a mountain base near Mt Coronet, the last place you saw him. You screamed to the heavens with your throat scratched and your mouth tasting blood. You looked around for him with your eyes as the wind played with the loose remnants of your coat. You screamed demanding Arceus to come home, you begged Giratina to bring him back. You wanted to hold him close to you, to hug him. And tell him all the things you never told him.
Because sometimes the heart and the mind work like two different machines, you were aware of the pain caused, but you couldn't stop loving him.
You screamed until you were mute, cursing the gods. Cursing your life. Cursing the being who gave you life and the one who brought you to live this miserable fate.
One day, the Togekiss that Volo had left you and your Lucario appeared alone in Jubilee Village and arrived at the door of Team Galaxy Headquarters. Professor Laventon and Cyllene looked at them in astonishment, and a sad sigh came from the latter.
They never saw you again.
At least not alive.

Would you still love me, even if I was a worm?
Please note there are 3 Pokémon classified as work pokemon and they are all bug types
Wives edition (only Cynthia, Rika, and Cyllene cause my wrist cannot handle more.) pure fluff
Cynthia
-
“Babes?”
You look up at her as you lay across her lap.
Cynthia looks down, her uncovered grey eyes locking with yours. She can’t help but smile, you look so cute in her lap, gazing at her with such love yet curiosity.
“Yes, dear?”
“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
Her brain stops.
She blinks once, twice, before rapidly doing so. You look at her so earnestly, like you want a genuine answer….but-
“What kind of worm would you be? It would I entirely depend as Snoms, Caterpies, and wurmples are all wildly different. And if you want to be technical burmies as well, since they are the bag worm Pokémon-“
“Cynthia.”
“Oh, yes?”
“Would you love me if I was a worm?”
“Dear, that entirely depends on which worm though!”
You watch as she rambles, listing off the logistics, and what each worm needs and how well it would do in certain environments.
She probably would, but you’ll never get an answer as her mind plays all sorts of scenarios.
-
-
Rika
-
She loves it when you spent time with her at work, she’s usually alone so no one is around to tell you or her off for this, and she uses every chance she can to love on you. But she notices you have something on your mind.
She hums, moving you from her lap to on top of her desk.
“Got something on your mind, doll?”
“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
Oh you’re too cute for her heart to handle! You look so meek, so nervous, so adorable, fuck she loves you.
“Oh sweetie.” Rika places a kiss to the tip of your nose.
“I’d buy you the best fruits for your little work self to feed on, let you ride around on my shoulder just so I can still love on my buggy baby.”
Her smile grows as you giggle, covering your mouth while you do so, but she continues.
“Get you a nice big enclosure covered in pretty flowers, and with a nice branch for you to get cozy on. And of course a lot of the most how quality dirt I can get ya.”
“All for me?”
“All for you, no matter what you’re my sunshine.”
And she will be damned if anything happens to you.
-
-
Cyllene
-
You knew what the answer would be, at least, you thought you did. After getting injured and being sidelined until you’re fully healed, you’ve been bothering your betrothed a lot more now that you can’t leave the village.
And she’s the only one constantly around for you to lovingly bother.
You sat in her office, Abra dozing in your lap from all your comforting pets. The silence being filled with Cyllene’s pen moving across paper.
Your silence has her concerned, usually you’re more chatty or at least much closer to her, you never sit to the side like this.
“Cyllene?”
She glances over to you before looking back at her paperwork.
“Yes, dear?”
“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
The office falls still and quiet.
Her pen to the side and she looks deep in conflicted thought.
You thought you’d get an out right ‘no’ but you never thought you’d make her spiral.
You can see her arguing with herself in her head, unsure of what to even say. On one hand she loves you dearly, you mean so much to her, on the other hand….she loathes bugs, she can’t even imagine being in the same room as a wurmple!
But the bug would be you…
But….
“Cyllene, please breathe!”
She’s snapped from her thoughts as you gently shake her, your arm around her back and your free hand on her forearm.
She takes a few deep breathes to calm herself, but you can’t escape her questioning.
“Why ask such a thing? You know I love you, correct?”
“I do, I just…thought it would be a silly thing to ask, maybe joke about it?”
You nervously laugh, feeling her steen gaze staying locked onto you.
“You truly are something else.” She sighs.
But you perk right up “But that’s why you love me!”
You’re right, but damn.

Ok but running on the streamer reader turning a pokemon, imagine if it was into a lil shiny Zorua.
They get the massive urge to cause mischief now and take it entirely out on Beni and Kamado🤣
Papers? Gone.
Plates? Floating in the air.
Reader can and will find a way to make a Whoopi cushion out of spite to embarrass Kamado during meetings. (Does that man ever sit down I swear we never see him sitting)
Or a lil growlith, just a fluffy lil babby that nobody can say no to, not even Cylene.
-Pierced Anon
You can and will have your vengeance, even if it means doing so as a tiny pokemon.
But hey! It certainly has its benefits. You will not show them peace the entirety of your banishment.
The only ones spared seem to be Cyllene and Laventon, who are just as confused as the others.
Though they certainly are in no big hurry to stop these strange occurrences. Both are still a bit miffed over you getting banished because of Kamado’s insecurities.
Meanwhile you will happily move Kamado’s chair just as he sits so he can fall on his ass. Or knock Beni’s plates from his hands again as he tries to serve food.
You do have to watch out for Beni though. Despite his looks, he is still a ninja. He will initiate a battle with you should he find the pokemon playing pranks. Even going so far as to track you down for it.

"Would you still love me if I were a Wurmple?" Various PLA x reader hcs + submas
My dear followers, I would love you if you were Wurmples.
Volo
"Oh! That reminds me of this old legend where a princess turns into a Wurmple, and her lover..."
He would build the best little Wurmple house for you.
He would entertain you with stories and legends, with the added bonus of you not being able to interrupt.
Adaman
"Are you planning on becoming a Wurmple anytime soon?"
He would carry Wurmple-you everywhere on his head or in his pocket.
Irida
"Uuuuuh, I guess?"
She would make little Wurmple-sized necklaces for you.
Or a Wurmple-sized jacket so you can go visit the Pearl Clan camp.
Cyllene
"Absolutely not"
Honestly she'd probably cry.
She'd set up an inescapable enclosure on the far side of her office.
Ingo
"I'm not sure I understand what you're asking..."
He would place you under his hat for safekeeping.
Might try to use you in a Pokemon battle to see if that works.
Emmet
"Of course!"
He 100% tries to evolve you. (It doesn't work)
After asking him that question, he sometimes refers to you as "My little Wurmple"

Everybody is submitting requests so I might do one as well 😅
In pokemon ranger guardian signs when you learn their respective signs you're able to summon and ride on raikou, suicune and entei (raikou can jump great distances, suicune can run on water and entei is able to destroy massive boulders in its way) so I'm thinking... Adaman, Laventon and Cyllene meeting and falling for a reader who just rides around hisui on their legendary pokemon buddy and helps out wild pokemon who need it?
~ ranger anon
ooh one for everybody!!
🍓🍓🍓
Adaman:
Adaman thinks you're a gift from above. He doesn't know the Pokémon you ride, but he can tell it's powerful. It walks with a heavy step, and its entire body rumbles with contained thunder. Adaman stares as you walk through the settlement, alongside everyone else, in awe of your majesty. Have you been sent by the Mighty Sinnoh to bless them with your time?
Raikou, you call the beast. It comes to you whenever you call, gallops across Hisui, leaping incredible distances. Adaman peppers you with questions about your steed whenever you come up riding Raikou, just to distract himself from how majestic and divine you look. Is he blushing? It’s the heat!
Adaman knows Raikou holds the key to winning your favor. He makes treats, indulges the beast in staticky pets, and becomes a preferred snoozing spot for Raikou. You laugh, seeing the giant feline laid across Adaman, his Leadeon so jealous. Still, despite the embarrassment, Adaman revels in the soft, warm look in your eyes as Raikou purrs, even if it’s because his hair is standing on end
Laventon:
Laventon first sees you at the Coastlands. You come in from the sea, atop a gorgeous Pokémon gracefully walking atop the waves. He’s smitten almost immediately, reminded of childhood tales of beautiful people sending sailors to their death. You could leave him right into the water, mounted on your stead
Suicune, you call it. A gentle beast of great power, but Laventon finds you are far more gentle. Your hands guide his, pressing them to Suicune where it likes to be stroked. Your voice is warm as you explain your story to the enraptured professor, and you listen to him theorize with a fond smile. Laventon finds himself dreaming of you before long, you and your beautiful smile
Should you ever bless Laventon with a ride upon Suicune, he is mystified. He clings to your back, watching his reflection and yours in the water's surface, disturbed only by Suicune's gentle steps. The faster you go, the more the water sprays up at you both, and Laventon can only laugh, in awe. He loves his job, and you, quite a bit
Cyllene:
Cyllene first encounters you when she’s still in the Security Corp. While escorting some members of the Supply Corp, there’s a loud explosion. She whips around, and sees you atop your molten stead, sliding down the side of the mountain with rubble rolling around you. You approach her team, nod, then run off into the distance. Instantly, Cyllene is intrigued, and wants to know more
She sees you far more as time passes. You come, with your Pokémon ride Entei behind you, and greet her out on missions. You show her Entei, let her pat the Pokémon’s warm fur, and always disappear as quickly as you appear. Cyllene finds herself thinking of you often, wondering about you, about Entei, about where you go when you’re not around. You occupy so much of her mind that she’s nearly losing sleep
The closer you grow, the easier it becomes. You stay with Cyllene in her office, having peaceful chats or simply basking in one another’s presence. Entei lies on the floor before her desk, intimidating the newbies quite nicely. Cyllene can only be seen smiling when you are with her, and when the new Corp members are squirming beneath her and Entei’s stare
🍓🍓🍓
Everyone: enthralled with pretty person on mighty stead
Have a good night!
~Renee
