Damirae week day 1: Amnesia| You got me (crazy)
He was devastated.
It was only 1 month before his wedding with Raven but things doesn't go as they plan, his fíancee where having her ultimate showdown battle with her father, he almost lost her. Lost in time and space.
She's trapped in forgotten dimension, and thank god he has done some research to get her back with the help of other superheroes including John Constantine but....
Something went wrong. When he retrieve her back, the time and space travel were having difficulties due to the interference of her brothers who are still alive. Raven, who is now inherit her father's crown and title as Queen of the Under Realm used almost all of her power to prevent the assault but whiplash happens when the power hit the barrier of time tunnel and almost hit Damian. Raven quickly shield him by wrapping her arm around her fíance and whisper to him that she loves him.
The shock from that whiplash made them stumbled and landed at the timeline just after Damian departure to fetch Raven from the ruin of Azarath.
The rest of the heroes who just watch him departure now puzzling as he comeback like it was a short distance walk journey. As Damian regain his senses, he quickly ask for medical team to take care of Raven who are now limping in his arm as she was heavily injured by the blow of her own power.
"I know Raven could heal herself in a miracle way but this damage on her head causing concussion, perhaps it may lead to memory loss. Let us hope that it wasn't a big blow. " said Cyborg as he analyze the Mistress of Magic at the sick bay.
Damian Wayne who is now disgruntled with a twist felt in his stomach by the memory of seeing Raven being hit by the whiplash played over and over inside his head although they already in their safe haven. When Cyborg said hoping it wasn't a big blow, he mentally frown. It is a BIG one.
Its been three days she's in coma, he patiently waited by her side though, sometimes Bruce and his other Bat fam come and asked Damian to come home to get some rest and filling his stomach with some food. As he watch his fíanceè who is now unconcious on a clean white bed with bottle of IV punctured in her arms and the beeping sound of pulse monitor counting her pulse rate as well as her blood pressure, the sight itself has killed his appetite somehow, there is a long sofa nearby, so he decided to rest his tired shamrock eyes with a power nap.
Damian drifted to sleep eventually, Dick silently put a wooly nightwing-ish design blanket on his brother for comfort, thus, he and Kory took their turn to keep their eyes on Raven.
******** Damian's dream were unpleasant which he end up awake with heavy sweats and panting and he thought, perhaps, it was the effect from the time and space travel. As he looked at Raven's bed, her face seems peacefully sleep despite all the beeping sound, machine were made.
Slowly he approach the bed and and sit on the chair has been recently placed there, perhaps either by Dick or Kory. He rest his arm and his head at the edge of the bed while his finger tracing her palm and slowly wrap around her finger, then kiss her knuckle.
He sighed as he stared at her that shown tranquility and peace. Seems like the sleepiness hasn't deserted him yet leading to few noded then he slowly land his head in the palm of unconcious Raven.
In a sudden, something awoken him. A twitch. He open his eyes as he seen her hands. Yes, more responds!
He grab it with both of his hands discreetly and placed on his cheek as he observed her eyelashes begun to fluttered. His heart almost jumped as he seen her eyes opened. With all the hope and excitement, he take his breath and about to say something until...
"Who are you? And why are you hold my hand? "
*******
It's been months.
Raven now hang out at the justice hall after she's awaken is a good sign but the only thing that bothers him, she... Doesn't remember about their relationship and their engagement.
She knew him, the 'Damian Wayne' for his infamous brat attitude but what she didn't know that, both of them were suppose to be married two months ago and damn, he's a mess.
Sometimes she caught him staring at her while shes reading at the library, sometimes when she walk in the garden.
Did they strike a conversation? Well, he tried but something kept holding him back like his father emergency meeting in Gotham, Jon's calling from space mission. An ordinary person might throw their tantrum about it but Damian Wayne accept that now its not their time to have a deeper conversation. Yet.
******
She felt peaceful as she taking a stroll at the garden. The flowers, trees, grass, all of them seems like in heavenly. She remember something new today. A showdown. Something like that. She's fighting with something big.
It does ignite her magic and alter her appearance into the damn Queen of Darkness. She still wonder, how did she end up on earth if she's already seal the dimension for good? She sighed and took a few step ahead and there, she saw him. A guy with complex aura surrounding him. Some of them are dark, some are sad, and the rest are bittersweet.
She's been wondering why she always bumped into him. Is he stalking her? Could it be, since he's the son of Batman. Maybe it's in their blood, she mentally chuckled.
"Hey, you! "
He look at her then slightly sneered. "I have a name."
"Uh, Sorry, Mr. Damian Wayne. "
"It doesn't have to be THAT formal. "
Raven accidentally let out her snort. Quickly, she cover her mouth. She'd be damned if he heard... What? Is that a smile?
Before she's about to say, his face change to his usual sour expression within nano second. "State your business then. " his stern voiced heard after a long silence.
"Oh uh... " she caught off guard.
"Well, nothing. Just wondering..." then her eyes caught up with a book he was holding that has pencil scribbled, more like doodling. "What are you doing?" she casually walk to him, invading his personal space.
She could feel the intensity of his eyes as he gaze at her then shifted to the tree view. "Some research. " he blurted out automatically.
"Oh? " She was curious though. Everytime when she meet him, it feels like her body drawn to him like almost wanted to embrace every single of his being. She quickly discarded the thought. 'Damn twilight,' she cursed under her breath for reading cheesy supernatural novel.
"You seems tense?" Damian close the book and tidy up his tools.
"I don't know. I kind of trying to put up some missing puzzle of my memory. " Raven rubbed her chin as she stared blankly at Damian's shirt. Unintentionally.
Damian, uncomfortable of being stared, cleared his throat that made Raven jumped abit from her short daydream.
"You need help?" Damian, volunteer himself.
"You want to help me? " Raven in disbelief as the Son of Batman offered himself. This is rare.
"I could help to sketch out by the description, who knows, it might help you remember something," said the dark hair man as he casually dust off his pant and shirt.
"Well... Let's go! " Raven, unconciously take his hand. She realise with sudden unusual movement as her eyes went wide just a second and slowly let go of him. "I'm sorry. I... Don't know what is happening. But it seems we kinda really close before I've lost my memory," she tried to laugh. Trying to make it less awkward.
When she saw his face, She saw something in his eyes; a melancholic, sad, and heavy gaze, of wanting to be acceptance.
"Perhaps. "
He turn his back on her, "Follow me."
Raven, bit her lips to keep her from being nervous, followed him as they making their way to Damian's specialize facility. A laboratory.
When both of them enter the building, everything seems familiar to her. All the passage, the door, the interior design; It feels like home. Damian put his sketch tool on work bench nearby the super computer and pulled out the chair and offer Raven to sit.
"I'm just gonna go fresh up abit, then we'll start the session. "
"Got it."
"And... " Damian paused as he tried to remember something.
"Don't touch anything on that table. " he point out an area where it filled with microscope and some are advance machinery. Is that a laser?
"I am not a child, Damian Wayne. " Raven pouted.
"Then act like an adult. " Damian huffed and disappear into his room.
"Jerk." as the young lady fold her hand and sit on the chair quietly.
***** Its been 20 minutes, she looks at the clock then at the room where Damian disappear. She's rocking her chair back and forth while her eyes roaming everywhere.
Suddenly, she saw the sketch book on the table where Damian left earlier. The dark color seems intriguing for her to open its content. To reveal the mystery.
'I hate being curious cat but.... Why not take a little peek? ' her heart begging her to see. Raven take a deep breath then slowly she lean on the table to take a closer look on Damian's sketch book.
Slowly she open those black leather cover, and she almost fell off from her chair! The first drawing who greet her is her own potrait. Realistic and detail drawing of her face.
Her heart is pounding fast. 'What did I do to this guy? ' then she open up the next page. There were several person she could recognise like Dick, Kory, Mari, some old man, his other brothers and Bruce.
When she flip for more she saw her again, this time she was hanging out with a creature, a fluffy beast with batwing and ring on his nose.
As she flip, she saw her, sketches of her in simple line, sometimes in complex mesh and shade. Different expression, even with dialogue. 'Did i ever said some of these line? ' as she read it because some of them are cheesy and romantic.
After almost all pages, her shaky hands close the book. 'Who is this guy to me? ' Raven feeling confused and nervous and her eyes looked at his door. This time, she need to see inside for some answers.
She trust her instinct as she walked to his door. She gently knock but... No answer. Her hand slowly twisted the door knob and open the door.
She actually went into Damian Wayne's room. This is crazy, and her body made its own decision as if she's done it thousands time. She'll definitely in big trouble.
******** She's in his room. HIS ROOM!! Carefully she walking around, she saw a potrait of her hanging on the wall opposite to his bed. It was really her, in precise color. She felt her heart jump a little. "I don't think we're bestfriend. This is much more.... " her whisper trailed off as she mesmerized with his work.
"Are kidding me? What are you doing in my room?!"
Raven wince when she heard it.
"Look, I'm sorry. I know i'm kinda bit annoying but your work did took my breaaaaaAAAAA!!!! "she quickly close her eyes.
Oh, dear. Damian is in towel stood in front of her as he just come out from his shower. Ah, no wonder he took a long time.
"What part you don't understand about..."
"Well, I didn't touch anything on that table. " Raven defend herself as she keep her eyes closed.
She could heard him sighed. "I did say 'act like an adult.'"
"Well, Damian Wayne. Try to elaborate what act like adult means!" Raven then turn around from looking at him.
"Like talk to me like a person. Not like a GODDAMN idiot who didn't look at me."
"I am not an idiot! " as she's annoyed as she facing him.
"Good. "
However, she tried not to focus on him, his wet hair, those intense green eyes and his uncovered torso. Damn...
Damian crossed his arm. Amnesia or not, she has violated his personal space, not that Damian would care but still!
"I have so many question to ask. " Raven almost whispers. "About the picture, the sketch, this familiar building. I... " she rub her arm as she try to sort out her mixture feeling. Embarassed, confused, happy, excited. What's with all of this whenever she's with him?
Damian arched his brow as he listen attentively. Tt, Of course she has seen his sketches.
"I feel... Happy whenever i see you. I feel like i want to hug you, some sort... Ugh this is sound insane." she closed her face with her palm. Damian definitely gonna call her pervert especially in this situation.
Damian slightly amused, it was like listening to her first confession 8 years ago. Slowly he sit on his chair nearby.
"Why don't you take a seat? " Damian point out the chair in front of him.
"Uh... " Raven still feel nervous about it. Damian, in his towel. Sitting on that chair with arm and leg crossed.
"I won't bite."
She sneered then sighed as she landed on the leathered chair. "This chair is making me nervous. As i was saying..." she put her hands on her chest.
"I don't think you and I were bestfriend, Mr. Wayne. I think its likely more than that. "
Did she Friendzone me? Damian's mind irritated by her statement. How dare she -
"I was so wrong about this, this miscomunication. Maybe I've interpreted it wrong. Maybe I didn't trust my intuition enough. I..I should have trust it but I'm afraid seeing you in sour expression and your cold atittude, i'm afraid that i might only have one-side feeling. "
Yep. Definitely like the first confession, he mentally noted.
"Have you ever heard about don't judge a book by its cover? " Damian leaned on his desk as he close up to her. Seeing her red wine eyes sparkles against the light in his room. Her soft lavender color hair. Her red ruby lip which he missed so much.
"Yeah, i know. But still, who am I to you?" as she dared to look into his shamrock green eyes. Hoping to find the answers.
"I'm afraid I can't answer that, Miss Roth." Damian still exhibit his seriousness. Raven hold up her emotion because something inside her like about to burst open and hell, she felt like she wants to give that jerk a thousand kiss on his face.
"But..."
"Uh?" Raven jumped a bit as Damian held his hand to her.
"You're an empath, right? I want you to feel it." She could feel heavy emotion behind his gaze. Slowly she reached out her hand towards him.
Damian, grab her hand and begun to exhaled.
Raven were drowning.
Drowning with his emotion. Those heavy burden, sadness, bitter and anger hit her like waterfall! After the intense wave, she suddenly felt butterfly in her stomach. This is so warm. This center feeling.
It feels like she wraping herself in a blanket on the cold night, comforting and safe.
When she open her eyes she saw his vulnerable expression. She never seen him in that face before. A longing.
Then, she realise the scar that marked horizontally on his stomach. She touched it, unintentionally. "Home..."
"Home? " Damian almost lose out his emotion in his voice.
"Home is when you go there... " Raven remember the line.
"They have to take you in." Damian continue the quote from his favourite poet.
"This scars... I remember Hell, the titans, YOU. " as she squeeze out her memory.
"I was suppose to stay there, to watch my father but why I'm... " Raven bit her lips. "Why? Why i'm here, Damian? I had to seal the dimension so that they could not harm the other dimension. " her tears start to blooming. "That is not your home. You deserve more than that hellish place, Raven. " Damian took his courage as he caressed her cheek, wiped out the tears.
"You doesn't seem content with the place. That is not your home. " both of his hand now on both of her cheek while he gaze into her eyes.
"Sometimes Home has a heartbeat, two arms and a soul. " he smiled. "It doesn't have to be a place. " he added.
"I... I.. " Raven getting choked up.
Tears start to rolled on her cheeks and without any hesitate, Damian give her a kiss. Long and still.
She felt everything connected, her memories, his emotion. Eureka!
Things in his room starts to float like its in zero gravity due to the intense emotion she felt. The bliss that makes her wants to reach for the stars.
Both of them withdrawn each other and placing their forehead together, savouring it. "I remember. " she whispers and yet she still cried.
Damian chuckled as he tug her hair behind her ears. He looked at her beneath his long lashes which made her heart fluttered.
"I am home with you. " she repeat her words during their depature from ruin of Azarath before their time travel goes wrong.
"All you need is a kiss to remember? " she can hear his giggle in his words. "A true love kiss. " as he peck her cheek.
"Since when Damian Wayne being cheesy romantic? " she teased him.
"Just come here. " as his arm wide open waiting for her. "I miss you. "
Raven scoffed then gloomped at the young man. "I'm home," she whisper as she bury her face at his collar, inhaled his freshly after shower scent, imprinting in her memory.
"Welcome back. " Damian wrap his arm on her body, it feels perfect. How he miss her so much! He give a kiss and landed his cheek on her hair.

DamiRae Week 2019 || Day 2 || Fake relationship
“These shoes are uncomfortable.” A hushed girl’s voice whispered in his ear.
“Focus, Raven.” He brushed her off in the same hushed voice as the two of them were walking around the room filled with very important people.
“You focus when your feet are killing you with every step you take.” She rolled her eyes and tried to hold her balance as best as she could. Thankfully she had Damian’s arm to clutch onto for extra support. Of course, this whole fancy thing was only for the show. They needed to look like a real couple as much as possible in order to attract the villain they were after. It was nothing more than an undercover mission. Raven just wished she could’ve gotten more comfortable shoes for this.
“No need to be so dramatic.” Damian barely gave her a glance, his eyes more focused on scanning their surroundings, trying to find anyone suspicious. “Are you picking up on anything suspicious?”
“There’s a lot of people in this room who got their wealth in one dirty way or another. Each and everyone of them is here for their own gain, mostly. A lot of greed and jealousy is in the air. So it’s hard to nitpick.” Raven explained, throwing a glance across the room as well. “But nothing that stands out just yet.”
“We’ll keep looking then. All we really need to do is make ourselves present.” Not that they needed to cause a scene. No. That was the last thing they wanted. The killer was on the lookout for wealthy young couples who were completely in love. For money purposes or for their own sick satisfaction, that they didn’t know yet. But they were going to find out. Right, now they just needed to let the killer know who they were. And with Damian Wayne that was no issue. Any news reporter would kill just to get an exclusive on the personal life of Bruce Wayne’s son. Which was both disturbing and very useful at the same time.
“Let’s dance.”
“What?” His gaze turned towards the dance floor. “But there’s no one dancing.”
“Exactly.” She grinned, although internally she was already regretting this suggestion. Yet, something made her pull him by the arm to the dance floor anyway, praying she didn’t stumble and fall right in front of everyone.
“Raven, I don’t think this is a good idea--”
“We need the attention, right? So this is a great idea and you know it.” It was too late anyway, they were in the middle of the entire room already. “We’re just one super happy couple in love who want to dance no matter if anyone is looking or not.” There was a teasing tone in her voice, but Damian knew she was right. The plan wasn’t bad. And he wasn’t a bad dancer either. Now, Raven he wasn’t too sure about, however.
“Are you sure you’ll be able to keep up?” He returned a grin and put a hand on her waist, pulling the girl closer to him.
“Don’t underestimate me, Wayne.” Her hand resting elegantly on his shoulder, they both started dancing to the slow music that the band was playing on the stage.
And, as they suspected, it didn’t take long for others to take notice of the only couple dancing. It was obvious they were both a bit nervous, though.
“I’m getting a lot of mixed reactions from the guests.” Raven commented, running her gaze around the people.
“Maybe we’re not making the impression we want.” Damian mused in thought. “Maybe you should smile more.”
“Says the guy who never smiles.” She scoffed at him, almost offended by what he said.
“Hey, I can smile. Look.” And he tried to put on the best smile that he could, but in the moment, it looked so tense and weird, she couldn’t help but laugh.
“Please, don’t do that.”
“Well, at the very least it made you smile.” He grinned.
Her cheeks turned red and she mumbled, “Oh, shut up.” Though she did have to admit that it eased the tension between them and the people started buying the act more. There were even some couples who joined them on the dance floor. Which wasn’t exactly something either of them had anticipated, but it was nice either way. At least they weren’t the only ones dancing by the end of it.
And Damian was indeed good. She felt really comfortable with him leading her and she didn’t stumble on her feet once, nor did she step on his, thank god. It was a surprise for her both because of the shoes and her lack of proper dance skills, which might have been more obvious if it wasn’t a slow dance.
When the song was finishing, Damian swirled the girl around holding her arm above her head and then bent her backwards holding her tight in his arms. It was clearly visible in her face that she hadn’t expected this. And a part of her hoped he wouldn’t drop her on the floor right then and there.
“Was that really necessary?” She whispered to him.
“You wanted the attention.” He shrugged and stood her back on her feet, the crowd around them clapping for their courage to be the first couple on the dance floor tonight.
It wasn’t unusual for Damian to be in the center of attention, so he merely put on a smile and gave a small wave. But Raven was tense and it was obvious. “Attention is the least thing I want. We only need it for the mission.”
Noticing her tensed figure, he gently nudged her as he offered his arm for her to hold onto again. “Just smile and do a little nod.” He instructed her and she complied, doing her best to look as natural as possible while the two of them slowly left the center scene.
Glancing sideways, Damian couldn’t help but note that, once she got into her role, it quite suited her. The confidence, the charm, the grace. She had it all. Something he’d never noticed before because she always chose to hide in the background.
“I need to sit down.” Raven huffed once they were out of the spotlight.
“Very well.” He nodded and made way to the nearest unoccupied table, first having Raven sit down before he took a seat opposite of her. Though, thinking for a moment, he then grabbed his chair and moved to the other side of the table right next to her. It didn’t bother her much until his arm extended behind her, resting on the backrest of her chair as he casually crossed his leg over the other, his gaze somewhere in the crowd. Blushing, the empath look over at him in mild confusion, which he noticed with the corner of his eyes.
“Don’t look at me like that. It’s only natural for couples to be close to each other at all times, especially in newly established relationships. Physical attraction is what initially pulls two people together. It wouldn’t feel genuine if you and I were to sit at such a distance from each other.” The black-haired male explained nonchalantly, still keeping his focus on something else than Raven.
“Right.” Well, he wasn’t exactly wrong. “You have quite the knowledge for someone who doesn’t date.”
“Tt. Dating is a waste of time and energy. It makes you vulnerable, especially in our line of work.”
“Maybe.” She leaned her head to the side in thought. “But if you truly love someone, it can also be a great strength.”
Damian merely hummed at her response, thinking of all the broken relationships in his family alone. His father and mother, his adoptive siblings - none of them had any happy endings. It just never lasted. So what was the point?
A few more moments of silence passed, both of them just staring out into the masses of people. This was interrupted, however, when Raven suddenly felt his hand over her own, taking it in a gentle grasp and slowly lifting it up. Blinking in surprise, she followed the movement and her heart skipped the moment she realized he was bringing the back of her palm to his lips ever so nonchalantly. Her pale face now red as a tomato, the first instinct she had was to instantly pull her hand back.
“What are you doing?” She gasped.
“What are you doing?” He snapped back, frowning. “You’re blowing our cover.”
Oh. Crap. She hadn’t thought of that. In fact, she hadn’t thought at all. She just saw him about to kiss her hand out of the blue and reacted. My god, she felt stupid now. Sighing, Damian leaned really close to her and talked in her ear.
“Listen-- Don’t look now, but there is a photographer for the Gotham Gazette sitting just a couple tables from us. If we get his attention, it’s damn sure it will be on the front page of tomorrow’s newspaper.”
Raven was listening to him, but all she could really focus on was the fact that he was so close to her. For some reason her heart was beating so fast no matter her best efforts to keep it calm. He smelled nice. Had she noticed that before?
“Now pretend I told you something funny.” Damian requested and that alone made her chuckle, but she did her best to drag it out into a full blown laugh.
“Oh, Damian~!” She laughed out, throwing her head back before leaning forward again to face him and lowered her voice, though keeping the sweetest smile on her face. “You really should warn me before you touch me like that if you don’t want our cover blown.”
“Oh, you mean like - I’m going to touch your face?”
“What--?” But Raven didn’t even have time to react properly before she felt his warm touch against her cheek, sending a shiver down her spine. “D-damian…”
“Physical affection. I told you. It’s what gets the attention of others.” He merely gave her half a smile.
“How can you be so.. so casual about it?”
“How can you not?” It was like he was almost surprised that Raven reacted the way that she did. And she knew it’d be pointless to try to explain it to him.
“Alright then.” With determination sparkling in her eyes, the girl reached her hand and made a gentle stroke down the side of his face. “Now don’t tell me it doesn’t feel nice.” She spoke in a soft tone of voice, looking right into his eyes, seeing exactly how taken aback he was even if the rest of his features remained as calm as ever. “That it doesn’t send a shiver down your spine and a tingle in the pit of your stomach?”
Her voice was almost teasing. Damian didn’t even dare to deny that she was right, as much as he didn’t want to admit it. Out loud anyway. Her delicate fingers brushing against his jawline, reaching behind his ear and sliding into his hair at the back of his neck while his own rested on the side of her face, his thumb softly drawing circles on her cheek, sliding down to her jaw and effortlessly grazing against her bottom lip… Green eyes darting down to her lips and then back up to her eyes agan... In a moment of impulse - which he never acted upon - he closed the gap between them with a soft, yet confident kiss.
Rendered breathless, it took Raven a moment to regain her senses. Her heart was racing a mile per hour, million and at the same time zero thoughts were running through her mind, her body not responding to any kind of reaction appropriate for a situation like this. But then again… She caught herself by the thought that she really just wanted to give in to this moment. Finally breathing in, her eyes closed and she returned the kiss, her hand gently tugging on his hair.
The world around them disappeared, even if for just a little while. The hundreds of stares disappeared, the room got quiet and it was just the two of them. And it was good like that. Just them. But reality kicked back soon enough. Pulling away, both of them took a deep breath, looking at each other almost in surprise and disbelief that what just happened was actually real. Then, Damian looked to the side and cursed under his breath.
“Shit. The photographer’s gone.” Right, back to the mission, as always. And Raven couldn’t help but to smile at that. Though, her hand reached to his face, gently turning it back to face her.
“Screw the photographer.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ BONUS ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Surely enough, the photo of the two of them kissing were all over the newspapers the next day.
“Starfire, what on Earth are you doing?” The distraught teen watched her cut the article out of the newspaper.
“I’m saving it.”
“What for?”
“Don’t you think it will be delightful to look back at your first kiss when you get married?” Kory spoke in a playfully teasing tone and chuckled at Damian deadpanning at her.
“Aren’t you thinking too far ahead with this?”
“Whoa--! Dude, are you trying to suck eat her face or something? Wow, that is some--” The sentence was not finished purely because of the sharp blade pointed right at Beast Boy’s face. “R-right. Got it.”
“I think they look cute together.” Jaime walked behind Kory to take a look at the picture and commented with a small shrug.
“I second that statement.” Donna chuckled only for the boy in question roll his eyes and grumble under his breath.
“Come on, Raven. We need to prepare for our next fake date if we want to catch this killer.” And with that, he grabbed the girl by the hand, pulling her from the spot she’d been standing completely frozen and red like a tomato throughout all this back-and-forth with the rest of the teammates. Little did they know that all the eyes were still on them and the entire team burst out in laughter as soon as they left the room. Together. Holding hands. To prepare for their “fake” date. Totally not in love with each other. No couple material there. Nope.
#okay so I feel slightly better about this one#I doubt I'll do all of the prompts#but this one was really fun tbh xD#hope you enjoy!#{{ 👋 Written by me }}#damirae#can't fake love#damirae week 2019#damirae week#fanfic#fanfiction

Chapter 4 of the Soul Acquisition AU, on ao3 here and here!
–
Damian was the picture of confidence as he looked over his carefully crafted plans; every potential misstep accounted for, every contingency implemented, every second of the next nine days mapped out to the dot.
Raven thought him a control freak, but it was necessary. Neither demon nor human alike could just waltz in and steal some of Trigon’s most meticulously guarded runes. The demoness he’d chained his soul to could probably swipe some of the more powerful of his plague-bringing potions without a hitch, but he had to be sure. Although, she should’ve been back by now.
Olive eyes glanced at the clock and then the dark sky, noting the sunrise was only a few scant hours away. The air in the room shifted and he stifled an annoyed sigh. Think of the devil and she shall appear…
Raven didn’t approach him and he didn’t turn around, but his head tilted at the sound of glasses clinking together. “Hey, Damian,” She sounded tired but relieved; the mission must have been a success. That familiar press of her powers filled the air again and all six tonics landed on the table, “Got those potions you wanted.”
The swordsman turned to look at her, taking in the still smouldering ends of her shawl and the way she ran her fingers through her hair, shaking out the ashes.
“Father’s bound to notice in a few hours,” She lazily mused to herself. Her amethyst gaze fell on Damian, “But I suppose that’s what you want?”
“My plans are my own, Demon,” His warning didn’t have as much bite as usual, so Raven decided now was the time.
“Here, then.”
Damian raised a brow as she tossed him a glass bottle, catching the tiny thing but keeping it at arm’s length. His eyes narrowed at the all-too-familiar scent that emanated off of it, taking a brief second to observe how it was corked by a dark red pyrope, bits of the gem used to accentuated the feather engravings and sparkle against the inky liquid within.
“With your plans and keeping Trigon occupied I’ll be gone a few days, so just spray it on something whenever you miss me,” Her fangs poked out as he glared at her teasing. Turning back to the table and silently tracing her future route back through Hell, she shrugged one shoulder, “It’ll be like I’m there with you.”
He snorted and simply placed the tiny bottle on the table, standing until they were shoulder to shoulder. Calculating their next plan of attack as he watched how the runes twitched on the table, Damian rolled his jaw, “I’ll treasure having some peace and quiet with you finally gone.”
“Aw, don’t be like that.” Raven smirked as she turned to look at him, practically purring the words off her lips, “It’s okay to be jealous.”
His brows jumped a millimeter at her assumption and he finally met her gaze, incredulous, “I’m not jealous of Hell having to deal with you. Grateful for the peace, if anything.”
“Oh?” She curled a finger and the bottle of perfume was engulfed in her power, hovering in front of her. “You’re sure you won’t mind not having all my attention for the next few days?”
“I thought you were the least narcissistic of Trigon’s mistakes.”
She laughed at his words, languidly reaching up and touching her palm to his cheek. Raven nudged Damian’s face her way, her smirk widening at the thin cracks of emotion that shone through him. The demoness levitated an inch in the air, curling not quite close enough to kiss his cheek.
Raven drawled, “Infuriating as you can be, I know I’ll miss you, Syd Damian.”
He sneered at her, shifting out of her grasp, “Are you expecting me to say the same?”
“I am.”
“And why is that? We both know you’ve been nothing but a thorn in my side for as long as you’ve been here.”
“Because you’re locked in.”
He raised a brow and turned to her fully, “We both have missions that start tomorrow, Demon. I’m free to leave whenever I please.”
She laughed, poking the dip of his collar. Raven’s fingertips fiddled with the skin over his pulse, graced with a particularly rough scar, and she slunk closer, pressing a lazy kiss to the underside of his jaw. She tapped right above his heart, “You’re locked in alright. Riiiiight here.”
Pale fingers skipped down to press just below his stomach, her smirk turning into a full blown grin at his glare. She’d never mention the flush of embarrassment that just barely darkened the tops of his cheeks, but she sure as hell would savor the sight. Raven tapped him again, “Locked in right here too.”
“Go to Hell, Raven.”
“Oh? That’s not what you were saying last ni–”
He cut her off but didn’t move her away, “Leave. Start your mission and do it right.” Trigon certainly could be distracted for an additional three hours than he planned for, especially with how insufferable she could be.
Raven’s smile widened at their proximity and she kissed his chin, running her thumb over his dimple, exaggerated by his frown. The demoness’ voice was casual, as if they were talking about lunch plans and not the second step towards taking over the world, “And will my welcome back be as satisfying as my going away party?”
He didn’t answer her. Instead, Damian tangled his fingers in her short hair and yanked her up to his face. Raven opened her mouth and he shot forward to steal a kiss, rough and full of reluctant longing. He growled against her lips, “Just don’t take too long.”
Raven snickered and kissed him again. Her nails thrummed over his chest. Teasing at the undercurrent of emotion that seeped out of him, her eyes gleamed red and she hummed out, “Locked in.”

Locked In
Hi this is my first ever Tumblr fic, please give me feedback and prompts
Also this is a prompt from the 2019 damirae week that I took over a year to edit/ finish. Hope you enjoy it
The sound of shoes hitting the metal steps echoed through the batcave. The dark haired woman descended the staircase as slowly as she could, a box, of Damian’s things, in hand. Raven glanced down at the various throwing knives and batarangs inside. It was some of the only things he left at Titan’s Tower. The metals clanking together creating another noise in the otherwise empty space.
Just at the bottom of the stairs sat Damian Wayne typing away on the batcomputer. Over thirty different windows had been pulled up on the computer, which was a tell that he had his face in the screen for hours. Damian was using up every second of the day to continue his research in hopes of keeping himself distracted. Distracting himself from the fight he knew was bound to happen between him and his girlfriend. Through the corner of his eye he saw her standing there.
Across the way Raven stood waiting for him to turn, unfortunately for her, he made no effort to. She drew in the corner of her lip and bit it out of frustration. Looking at him ignoring her only made her madder. She could feel the anger boiling down deep inside. It was small but still there was a tiny flame waiting for its accelerent. Raven cleared her throat attempting to get a hold of Damian’s attention, which she very well knew she had as soon as she walked in the room. He was just good at hiding it, hiding his emotions and his shock that she was even there at the batcave.
Damian didn’t even move to look at her. Frustration growing more and more by the second Raven tried it a second time this time louder and with a bit more attitude. Unable to attempt to ignore her any longer, Damian pushed back off the desk and slightly turned the chair to face the woman a few feet away. He leaned back in the chair hands grasping the arms of the chair while the corners of his lips drew into a smug smile. The only thing Raven knew in that moment was that she was gonna have to start the conversation, because no matter how wrong Damian Wayne was he was always too stubborn to admit it.
A surprise to both of them Damian was the first to speak. The smug smile left his face just long enough to get out the words, “What do you have there?”
“Your shit that you left at the tower.” Looking directly into Damian’s eyes she released her grasp of the box allowing it slam onto the desk right next to her. Not even the sound of the metals hitting one another on impact could break the intense stare they shared. Raven’s semi-peaceful state was melting away with each second she looked into his emerald eyes. She could feel the warmth of anger overtaking her body. She had so many things to say to him but didn’t know how to put them into words.
Raven debated saying anything at all. As much as she wanted to scream and yell at him she knew if she did she may not be able to control herself. Instead of fighting Raven whipped around breaking the stare. Just for a moment she paused contemplating if she should really leave or stay. She drew in a long breath as her eyelids fell softly. She let out the breath as she took a step forward.
In a matter of seconds Damian was out of his chair. He opened his mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. The truth was he didn’t know what to say either. He dropped his hand which he didn’t even realise he had reached towards her when he jumped from his seated position. The Wayne child let his head fall backward leaving him to stare at the ceiling.
Raven was close to the door only to be startled as a large heavy door was dropped from the ceiling. The door, in place, slid its locks into place. “What the hell is going on?” Raven questioned as she whipped around to Damian who was once again typing away on the computer.
Brushing off Raven’s question he kept typing away at the batcomputer. All he could focus on now was the screen in front of him flashing through lockdown protocols.
“Damian I know you heard me. What the hell-”
“We’re locked in.” Damian huffed out in frustration to himself, then clearer and slightly louder, “We are locked in.” Damian slammed his fist into the table. Groaning he ran his fingers through his hair tugging a little at the end. Raven felt the frustration radiating off him. It wasn’t her favorite emotion emitted from him but it was one she was fairly used to. In fact every time she brought up the matter of him leaving Titan’s Tower she felt the frustration as he would walk past her and dismiss the conversation entirely. Raven knew she shouldn’t ask but she was just curious as to why he did leave. Sure it would start a fight that neither knew if they could finish but it would lead to answers and that was the only reason Raven needed.
“Can you fix it? I wish to leave.” Raven said sass laced into her tone. It wasn’t exactly the words or the tone she thought would leave her mouth. Her subconscious had taken control of her mouth and it was looking for a fight.
“You think if I could fix it I wouldn’t have already.” Damian fired at her. “I’m in no mood to be locked in anywhere with you at the moment. You shouldn’t be here.” He turned facing her, green eyes meeting violet eyes. Raven raised one eyebrow in disgust. He did not just say that, she thought. They both were itching for the fight, so why not give in. Raven scoffed and proceeded to let her mouth fly.
“Oh I’m sorry I was returning your stuff. Stuff that you left at the tower when you left the titans and me.” The last word took Damian by surprise but not enough to lessen the intensity of his next words.
“One, I didn’t ask you to bring that stuff. Two, I didn’t leave you.”
“Really so when were you going to tell me that you were leaving?”
“Honestly I don’t see the big deal in it.”
She felt the anger, once a tiny flame, overtake her torso and extending towards her fingers. As the flame reached her fingers it manifested into energy that surged in her hand. Letting it release into the far side of the cave, it found its way to a bunch of gadgets laying sporadically on a shelving unit. The shelving unit itself went flying while the gadgets dropped creating a path from where the shelves started to where it hit the wall. Despite the loud sounds made by metals hitting metals or the shelves hitting the wall, neither of them bothered to look away to see what it was that it hit. The two were so deep in their stare down that any slight movement meant weakness that the other would surely jump at.
“It’s not a big deal.” Damian stood there as she drew herself closer to him. “It doesn’t kill you to think of me walking away without talking to you first. It doesn’t feel like you are no longer loved or cared for as you watch yet another person leaves you behind because that’s how I felt. You were quick to pack up and get the hell out of there. You didn’t, and still haven't bothered to tell me why you moved out, but honestly I don’t care at this point. I guess I should have expected a clean cut from an al Ghul.”
In one swift action Damian moved to stand over her, anger radiating in the little space between them. They both knew she pushed the right button to get through to him. Raven could feel his heated breath. He was too close. Despite her showing nothing but anger towards him on the outside, Raven was breaking on the inside. She could feel the pooling of tears in her eyes. There was just enough to threaten spilling over but it never actually did. Now that he was close enough, Damian could watch as her eyes glazed over, not that he was willing to show it but seeing her like that was breaking him just the same. He just wanted this whole stupid situation over.
Slowly Damian’s face moved closer to Raven’s, he paused his lips just centimeters from her’s. Raven wasn’t sure if this was an intimidation tactic or an effort to reconcile, nor did she care what he meant by it, she wasn’t going to stand down. Damian tried so hard to continue looking into her eyes, although the closeness of their lips was too tempting for him not to steal a glance. Once again looking into deep purple eyes he felt all his anger disappear. Various words danced around his head as he waited to find the right ones.
“I’m sorry.” After the words left his lips he took a deep breath. “I never meant to hurt you, nor do I plan on leaving you.” These were the last things to come out as he crashed his lips into hers.
Just outside the locked entrance Dick, Jason, Tim, and Cass all stood around a computer watching the scene happening in the batcave. Once the alarm sounded Dick pulled up the security camera footage, to see what may have caused the alarm. Upon finding Damian and Raven trapped inside Dick called out to anyone around, so they could enjoy Raven screaming at Damian together. The four ended up watching the whole thing from the very first word to the moment after the two teens released and ended up in a protective embrace. Jason nudged Dick’s shoulder, “Good call on locking them in until they figured it out.” Dick spun in the chair until he was facing the rest of them.
“I didn’t trigger the lock down.” With this new information, Tim shoved Dick out of the way as he typed away on the computer.
“Son of a bitch triggered it himself.” The four looked at each other impressed by their brother. Before anything else could happen, Cass deleted the tapes and turned off the computer leaving the boys fidgeting to restore the footage.

Damirae week day 6: truth or dare| it’s obvious
A/n: The last part for ‘I’m a sucker’ series. Enjoy!!!
" Where... Am I again? " she puzzled as soon as she wakes up. She's not in her apartment again rather in a huge room, looks like hotel suite, with plushie stacked with her on the bed. There's a monitor beeping next to her showing the heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen level.
Slowly she got up, adjusting her vision as she rub her eyes. "I'm already dead am I? " when she get a clearer view. This is certainly not her or Damian's apartment. She tried to move her arm and she realise there's something poking at her arm. "I... V?? " she lift it up to see it clearly.
Still traumatise with yesterday incident she pulled the line including Monitor detector clipped to her finger. The monitor blared with alarm as it looses their detection sensor to her. "Oh, shit. " Quickly, she goes under the blanket.
Her mind were racing, thinking what how to escape from this unfamiliar room. She heard someone open the door, in rush manner as if they were in a hurry.
Ever since after she display her new ability, her sense are heightened, she beable to FOREFELT someone's aura either by her vision or feel.
This aura she felt is in alarming, a rush, is that worry? Still... Without any futher thought, she grab anything she could to become her weapon incase something happens. As soon as that person pull the blanket, her first instinct is to smacked them hard until they fell on the floor and yet, she DID.
Both of them fall, with Raven on top as advantage she tried to hit them with her pillow and....
"This is not the time for another pillow fight , Raven!" that person held her weapon with one hand.
"Damian?!! "
Damian frowned as he grab her pillow and put it away. " You think this absurd thing could kill me? " he scoffed.
Raven grab another pillow then smack to his chest. " You. Won't. Understand. How. I. feel. After. All. I. Have. Been!" she punctuated every word with pillow smack.
Damian annoyed grab the pillow then pulled her towards him as he wrapped his arm around her. "I know. " he whispered.
"What? "
"That why I bought you here. " he muttered as his hands rub her arms.
Raven never felt like this before. For once, her mother does hug her like this after she's having nightmare but now... Her fake boyfriend pull up the same comfort hug. Warm and ensuring. How she wish they weren't in fake relationship at all. She sighed and lay her head on his chest.
"I heard something. Is everything o.." Someone open the door and stuttered. Damian and Raven both look at the entrance and saw Dick who is gasping as he saw their position.
"Dick, could you atleast be... " then Jason came from behind as he follow the eldest.
"Damian, the condom is in the drawer if you want to use it. " Jason barefaced point out at the drawer near the cabinet as he witness the awkward situation.
"What the..No! We were just...Talk!" Damian shouted in denial. Raven who is now in deep red quickly remove herself from him and sit on the bed, hugging her knees close to her chest.
"I'm...I'm sorry for all the rukus. " Raven said timidly as she apologise.
"No.. No... It's okay. " said Dick as he tried to coax her in a friendly. He still presume Raven were trying to recover from the traumatic experience she has before.
Damian rise as he put both of his hand aside to support his body weight while he looked at her. "You were having a hard time. I want you to rest to your fully recovery. " he speak and Raven could feel his concern within the words.
"Ah... I will. But how about the... "
"Already call them. Said you were having difficulties. " Damian closed his eyes as he recall.
"That means I have to extend my semester?" Raven closed her mouth. O dear.
"Your safety is my priority." Damian's eye getting darker. " With your power, people might use you as your advantage and I will not let it happen. "
"Now, you sound like my mother, DEAR. " Raven comment him with sarcasm. Damian sneered at her but quickly distracted by Dick and Jason laughing.
"Awww...they were love quarreling. "
"We are not... " Damian's word interrupt as soon as Dick put his hand around his shoulder.
"Don't worry little D, Jason and Cass will teach her a few tricks for self defense. " Dick winked at him but Damian groaned as he heard it.
"I doubt it. " he spit his word like acid.
**********
It's been days she's staying in the manor, she met Alfred, hanging out with the other batfam and met the big man of the house, Bruce Wayne.
At first, Bruce asked hundreds of question to Raven and about Raven to the batfam especially to Damian, The young man having his hard time to answer especially when involve in relations.
Raven can't deny, the man itself having problem in trusting people in his life but she could feel when he accept the batfam, he has put his trust in every of his 'children' including his old and wise guardian, Alfred Pennyworth.
One week is enough for her to stay, Jason and Cass have give her the basic knowledge how to self defense, scoffed by Damian who later teach her how to do arm lock or neck lock by using either handbag strap or tie, he even told her ", Anything can be your weapon." Raven could see his evil smirk. Perhaps, his old habit as an assassin?
A new week is around the corner, she told Damian that she need to be in her apartment because she need attend her classes that she missed. Damian nodded as he listen, he said by next week he'll send her back to the apartment.
*******
"Have you heard about Raven?"
"Yeah, she wants to go back to apartment after this weekend. " said Babs as she tidy up her close case.
"That soon? But we still haven't got the time to bring her along during patrol!" Steph, frustrated as she landed on the couch.
"What patrol? We haven't got girl's night! " Babs sighed as she sip her coffee.
Jason walked in as he sit on the couch switched on the plasma tv with remote.
"What's sup, Jaybird?" Steph give a nudge to the white streak hair lad. He simply blocked it with his palm.
" What do you want, Steph? " Jason knew that everytime Steph saying 'What's up' means there's a plan weaving in her mind.
"Raven will probably gone in a few days. "
Steph sighed as she hug the small cushion on the sofa.
"I'm listening. " He glanced at her from the corner of his eyes.
"Make her stay. "
"Yeah, make her stay. " Babs now leaning at the head of the sofa between Jason and Steph.
"I can make her stay but Damian probably kill me. " Jason scoffed.
"Like what?"
"Marry her." he laughed. " but yeah, the Brat will slaughter me like cattle. " he gesture an imaginary line as a boundary he won't cross.
"Why don't we make Damian confess to her?" Steph with her evil smile upon her face.
"That sounds like a plan. " said Tim as he walking into the room.
"Like how? The boy clearly backfire every plan we set for them including two days ago! " Babs shake her head as she remember when they set Damian and Raven to met at the garden.
As they reach the spot, there's picnic basket lying on the mat on the grass, they hoping for them to date, ruined as Damian cut the basket in half, as he thought it might contain dangerous trap where it turns out to be waffles and chocolate covered strawberry been severed in the hands of that assassin.
"I think we should make him confess. " said Dick as he come in and hit on side of the couch.
"What's up? " Steph brows lift a bit.
"Damian is being stubborn ass when it comes to feeling. I mean, he always talk about it, saying probably he's sick or maybe gone crazy but it's obvious!!!!" Dick wavering his hands as he annoyed with his little brother's talk.
"He doesn't even know that he's in love? Tsk tsk. " Jason made pity face.
"Raven didn't know too. She's not. Aware. " Cass slowly walked towards them as she sit on the floor crossed in front of them.
"I think I could make him talk. " Tim stroke his chin.
"How? " Dick sneered at him.
"Truth serum."
All of them smirk.
"He won't stand a chance. "
**************
Dick and Jason were hang out at the balcony, drinking wines admiring the night sky. It's quite peaceful when they are not on duty.
"You guys call? " Damian walked through the opening door approaching them.
"Yeah. It's about SOMETHING. " Dick intensified on the word 'something'. Damian frowned as he heard that. Is there something serious?
"Why not join us here?" Jason lift up his beer.
"Fine by me. " as the young man join them sit at available stool.
"Beer? " Jason offer him a beer bottle.
"Sure. " Damian seem aloofed. " Any new case, Grayson?"
"It was about Black Mask. " Dick trying to Damian distracted while Jason open the beer bottle and handle to Damian.
"Again with illegal weapon? Jason. I thought criminal lord is your THING? " Damian looked at the white streak lad as he drink the beer.
" It is. Well, things got complicated, you know B doesn't like the terms of Killing. " as he sipping his drink while glance at Damian.
"Tt."
"So, let us play the game. " Dick smiled as he drink his wine. "Truth or dare. "
"So, you’re luring me to drink alcohol and play this game?" Damian scoffed. " I should tell you, that won't affect me."
"Well, alright then. Truth or Dare, Damian?" Jason start it first.
"Todd, I'm not gonna do your chilidish dare. I'll choose truth." said Damian as he drink his beverages.
"Are you gay?" Jason chuckled with the question itself. Damian narrow his eyes. "That is the most idiot question I ever heard."
"The answer is obviously, Jason. Okay, Damian, truth or dare?"
"Truth. " Damian sipping his beer.
"You know Raven last day is tomorrow right? " Dick slowly rolled his wine glass to keep them well mix.
"Yeah. It's a shame. I wish she could spend more time in here. "
Dick and Jason eyed each other as soon as Damian realise what he's saying.
"What?" he frowned.
"So tell me, you like her right? "
"Of course I do. As the matter of fact, I....Holy shit! " Damian quickly closed his mouth.
Both Dick and Jason smiled. Plan succeeded!
"What the hell... What did you give me?! " Damian when furious as he slammed the beer bottle on the table.
"Truth serum."
Damian gave his infamous death stare to both of them. "It will depleted by the next day along with the alcohol. "
"Hahaha, that's a No. This is improved formula by Tim. Got experimented on crooks and minions during the interrogation. Perhaps i could say... Could last within 5 days, more or less. " Jason smirked.
"Fuck you!" Damian were furious as he get up from his chair.
"It will be alot easier for you to confess to lovely miss Raven. " Dick giggled.
"No. You make it more difficult! I can't just say I love her out of nowhere?!" Damian gestures especially at part of 'nowhere'.
"Yes, you can and you will." Dick nodded as he sip his drink.
"I fucking hate you and love you for doing this. What the hell I am saying?! "
"Awwww, I love you too. " Jason pinch Damian's cheek which he quickly ward off.
"I AM not gonna meet her face to face or neither you raise the subject about my feelings." Damian growled.
"Just say you love her."
"You think its easy to say that to her?!" Damian clench his fist.
"Who knew Damian who does NOT afraid of anything, SCARED to admit his FEELING?" Jason comment, cynically.
"Fuck you, Jason! I don't want to SCARE her! She's been through alot! That fucking Maniac almost molested her!" Damian grind his teeth as he remember the incident.
"Maniac? What maniac? " Dick eyebrow jumped as he heard that.
"That son of the bitch, Walter Andreson." Damian narrow his eyes as he spit out his hate.
*******flash back*********
It was two weeks after the incident he met with Raven. With the help of her forecast, solving his case are a lot easier due to clues. Honestly, he felt grateful after he met Raven. It was like heaven send him an angel, literally.
As he remember his last meeting with her, she is quiet girl but somehow there's something makes him attract to her. Maybe it was her eyes?
He sighed. Oh, god, he hopeless, hopelessly fall in love. Love? What love? He snorted. All his life, he's been trained as an assassin. A weapon. His mother taught that emotion is reason why many civilization met their downfall, be it scandal, jealousy, revenge; anything or any decision that has been made with heavy emotion driven could lead to one's destruction.
Somehow, as his father took him in, the batfam teach him how to be compassionate, to be crime fighter, defender of justice, and a hero. He's grateful that fate has laid a crossing path between him and his father along with the bat and co.
His phone rang pulling him back to the reality. Could it be? As he seen on the screen it was... Raven. He could felt his heart jumped a little but quickly he control his breathing to calm down his anticipation.
"Hello? "
"Damian."
" Anything I can help you, Raven? "
" I... I need you help."
He can sensed something wring by listening to her voice. "I'll meet you at your place in 5."
****//*****
As soon as he reached her street, everything is quiet. As soonas he got out from the car he heard a faint crash the building. Quickly he gets in as he sprint to her door, with his mind playing the incident where they discover her roommate died. Oh god, he hope nothing bad happen to him.
But as soon as he reach her door, it were open like before. Oh, shit. He quickly went into and found Raven were struggling against a guy who hug her from behind.
"Hellppp!!!" Raven scream as she tried claw her way out.
As if he heard a snap, Damian tear through her apartment and pull that guy's shirt in result Raven were thrown at the sofa while Damian hurled that bastard to the wall.
Damian quickly checked on her, her condition were not in good favour. Her clothes and hair were untidy. There were bruises on her cheek. Damian almost sobbing as he saw her like this.
He touched her cheek as Raven jumped. "Did he hurt you?" his voice sound disceeet, almost whispering.
Raven slowly nodded as her arm wrapped around herself trying to hold herself.
"I'm here now. " as both of his hand cupped her cheek. The sound of glasses shattered as the guy where on their feet after being shoved to the wall made Raven looked behind Damian.
"Stay here. " Damian gives out his solemn smile as he turn to that guy. Slowly he approach that unknown person, his crack his knuckle then his neck. Damian's green eyes glows against the lights on the wall.
The guys made a gasping noise as he saw Damian exhibit his assassin nature.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you." his voice turn into cold steel that could stab your heart. Quickly he grab that guy by his shirt shirt then bang him against the wall.
He clench his fist then driven to the wall near that bastard's face as it went deep. Damian can see the terror in bastard eye's wide open. Still, an eye for an eye, a fist for a fist.
He gives him a good knuckle to his torso, a few blow on his face, knocking a couple of teeth. But it wasn't enough, this fucking dick hurt her and he's messing with wrong person.
Raven had to stop him before he beat that guy senseless. "Stop. " her voice muffled against his back as she wrap her arm around his torso.
Damian's gruesome face slowly relaxed into cold demeanor. " Don't... Kill anyone in my apartment, please. " her voice were shaken.
Damian let go of that guy's collar as that bastard fall to the floor, unconcious. Both of his bloodied knuckle hands place on hers then open her arms. He turned to see her in tears as it rolling on her cheek and it almost cause him breathless.
"I'm going to call the police. You shouldn't stay here. " He clasped their hands together.
"P-please don't leave me here alone. " Tears blooming as she shivers.
"I won't. " he sighed.
During the police interogation, the police asked him what's his relationship with he simply said, her boyfriend. Raven at first diagree but as she looked at the situation slowly she nodded as she agreed.
They have made their agreement before police came, a fake relationship agreement for her safety.
++++end flashback++++++
"That was...."
"You should make that idiot in the electric chair. " Jason grumbled as he listen to his story.
"Yeah, but 20 years is enough. " Damian huffed as he ruffled his hair. It was a tense night.
"By the way, good luck on confessing session. " Dick smirked as he lift his wi e glass same as Jason lift his beer.
"I fucking hate you."
"No, you don't." Dick giggled.
"No, i don't... DAMN IT!!! " Damian run his hand on his face, frustration.
*************
Now its a day before Raven move back to her apartment and she use that time to hang out as long as she can with he Bat and Co. She will probably miss them as family; a dysfunctional family but their welcoming really made her feel home for an orphan.
She just can't find Damian anywhere and it made her felt something stirred in her stomach. Where the hell is that boy?
Everytime she got i to the same room with him, he quickly paced out of the room like avoiding her. Did she done something wrong?
It was night already and she's happily spend her time with them, her new surrogate family but Damian keeps avoiding her. Raven tell about it to the Batgirls, the batgirls tell her not to worry and leave everything to them.
"O.. Kay.. " as both of her eyebrow raised.
************
Raven received a message from Steph saying to meet her in the library. She reply with thumbs up sign and hurried to the room.
As soon as shes in it the door suddenly closed. "Wait what?! " Raven begin to panic as she tried to pull the door which is not work, to no avail.
Then at the corner she saw Damian where reading some book on the couch. As she approaching him, he's quite surprise.
"Raven?"
"Damian." Raven fidgeting with her sweater sleeves. "We need to talk. "
"Shit. " he cursed under his breath.
"What?"
"No. Nothing." he keep his cool face hiding his panic mode.
"I realise you were avoiding me lately. "
Damian kept his mouth shut from blurting out his words.
"Did I do something that irritates you? " Raven's brow lift as she asked him.
"No. You didn't."
" It's kinda sad that tomorrow would be the last day I 'll be hang up in here. " she sighed then looked at him.
Damian bite his lip as he fight the urge to say that she should stay. But why he did that? Of course he wanted her to stay.
"Was it because of my power?"
"What?"
"Was it because you afraid of my power? " Raven put her hand on her chest.
"TT. I'm not afraid of you." Damian snorted.
"Oh, well, then. " as Raven look aside. Maybe this is how it ends. She's end up having one side feeling. "I'm sorry for causing you trouble after all of this, Damian, after all, between us are only agreement. Maybe we should terminate it." She smiled and turn away. "It's been nice to meet you. "
Before she walked away, Damian grab her by the arm. "Wait. That's not what I intended." a
He looked at the floor unable to face to face with her.
"Then what did you intend to? "
Damian inhaled as he closed his eyes.
"Did you know how hard for me to resist after you kiss me then sleep on top of me that night? "
"I did that? "
"Yeah, and you flash me."
" Oh my god." Raven now buried her face in her hands.
"No worries, you were wearing a sport bra."
"STOP. "
" Did you know how FREAKING adorable and hot you looked in my shirt?! "
"Uh? "
"You have any idea how much that sight turn me on?! " blushes start to creep on his face. "Okay, that was slightly pervert but actually i fell you after we first met. "
Raven's red shade are getting darker. Guess it wasn't one side feeling at all.
"I don't care if anyone tell you are not perfect but you are to me. You are thoughtful, brilliant, not to mention cute, even though your power may scare other people but not me. Because.. because I love you for who you really are. " Damian held his breath then speak again. "You took my breath away and yet gave me reason to live. "
Wait, he goes to poetic mode?
"And I thought myself got lost in the dark but in the dark I found you. The brightest star. "
"Wha... " Raven blinked as she heard his word.
"Focus, Raven. I'm confessing my love to you. " as his furrowed his brow focusing to her.
"Love is a fire that burns unseen,
a wound that aches yet isn’t felt,
an always discontent contentment,
a pain that rages without hurting,
a longing for nothing but to long,
a loneliness in the midst of people,
a never feeling pleased when pleased,
a passion that gains when lost in thought."
Damian caress her cheek as he recite a pieces from Luis De Cameõs.
Raven scoffed as she witness this ever serious guy, Damian Wayne just recite an epic piece to her.
"I... "
Raven rolled her eyes. She had to shut this guy down; but then, she kick his shin.
"Ouch, What the hell, Rav-"
Raven pulled his collar shirt toward her and give him a full liplock kiss.
Damian were stunned then closed his eyes as his hand on her waist.
"You don't have to recite a poem to say I love you." Raven smiled as she withdrawn the kiss.
"And yet I did." he smirked "and I will."
"So, fake boyfriend and fake girlfriend?"
"For real. " they kissed again.
************
"Did you get the picture this time? "
Tim hand out his camera as they studied to photo.
"Mission accomplished." Dick smirked.

DamiRae Week 2019 || Day 1 || Amnesia
Another morning for her to wake up in a place she did not recognize. Among people she didn’t recognize. It had been more than a month now and still every time she’d walk in a room of people, they would hush their voices and give her concerned looks. They never said anything. But she could feel it. She didn’t know how or why but she felt everything. And they knew it. So they tried their hardest to act ‘natural’ around her, whatever that meant. Yet, she couldn’t help but to feel like an outsider. And it didn’t help that one person in particular did his best to avoid her at any cost.
Raven was walking down the hallway to go to the kitchen for her morning tea, but hearing voices in there, she stopped in her tracks and decided against entering the area. She didn’t want to deal with the looks and the emotions this early in the morning. Then she noticed someone with the corner of her eye. Looking towards the end of the hall, she saw someone turn around to disappear from around the corner they’d come from. It was him. She didn’t know it, but she could feel it.
“Hey--!” She called out and followed the other. “Wait--” Walking around the corner she saw him stopping, but not turning around to face her. “Damian, was it?”
“... Correct.” He said in a monotone voice she’d come to know him for.
“You’ve been avoiding me ever since I got out of the hospital.” She stated, trying to read his emotions. It was funny. This whole thing came naturally to her, she could feel all the worry, compassion, confusion, caring and love from others. But not him. He was always a mystery to her. And she wanted to know why.
“Why?” The empath finally continued, seeing that there was no reaction from the other. “Were… Weren’t you and I friends like the rest of them?”
“No.” His voice was cold and sharp. “We were not friends.” He emphasized and kept on walking again, leaving the girl dumbfounded all by herself in the dimly lit hallway. For some reason, hearing those words she felt a sting in her chest. Like she’d just been rejected. But she didn’t even know him. Even though deep inside she felt like she knew him better than anyone. And the question why still remained.
---
“It’s been two months and she hasn’t remembered a single damn thing!”
“The doctors said it could take some time, Damian. We just need to keep--”
“Keep doing what? Your methods are clearly not working, Starfire.”
“Hey!” A male voice intersected the argument between the two. “At least we’re doing something, Damian. What have you done to help her, huh? You haven’t even looked her in the eyes ever since she’s come back!”
“Don’t push it, Beast Boy.” The boy wonder grumbled at the other, clearly displeased with being told he hasn’t done what everyone would expect him to.
But they didn’t know how painful it was to even look at her when she looked back at him with this blank expression. How hard it was to not hold her hand every time they stood next to each other. How impossible it was to walk up to her and not give her a kiss on the cheek. How unbearable it was to wake up alone in his bed every morning. They didn’t understand. How could they? They weren’t the ones who had the love of their life standing right in front of them who didn’t feel a damn thing for them. There was nothing. Just the emptiness behind her purple eyes.
“What do you suggest we do then, Damian?” The Tamaranean princess asked after a moment of silence, tired of all this arguing. Of course, they all wanted this to be over and for Raven to remember everything. But the process was slow. And it was getting to everyone. Damian was the one who was affected the most, they knew that, but he wasn’t the only one suffering.
“I don’t--”
“Just go talk to her.” Donna suddenly chimed in. “What can it hurt to at least try?” The others instantly agreed, to what the boy in question could only roll his eyes at.
“I’ll talk to her when I want to. Not when I’m being told to.”
“But you and Raven--”
“You know nothing about me and Raven. So stop pretending like you do.” He snapped back at her and left the room. Damian wasn’t going to get bossed around here. Not when he knew exactly what he was doing. But… A part of him did want to see her. Sit down with her. Talk to her. And so, without even realizing it, his feet had brought him to the rooftop of the tower. It had always been her favorite quiet place. Guess at least some things didn’t change because he found her sitting right at her usual spot just by the edge of the roof. Shuffling his feet for a moment, he finally decided to approach the girl.
“Hey…” He started quietly, trying not to startle her.
“Hey…” Raven looked up over her shoulder, slightly surprised to see him standing there like that. A moment passed and the silence between them lingered, so she decided to speak up again. “You’re nervous.”
Caught red-handed. She was getting better. Nodding with a small sigh, he sat down next to her as she followed his every move. He could feel her stare right at him and it made him almost uncomfortable.
“I haven’t talked to you much.”
“Well, you did say we were not friends.”
“It was--”
“Though, I don’t believe it’s true.”
“You don’t?” He looked at her in surprise.
She shook her head. “You wouldn’t care if I was around had we not been friends before. You wouldn’t avoid seeing me. Or talking to me. You said that we weren’t friends because… Because we were more than that. Weren’t we?” Her head slowly turned to look at him and it was the first time she actually got to see his green eyes. The tingle she felt in her stomach the moment he looked back at her let her know that she was right.
A part of him was surprised that she’d deducted that out of nowhere. But a bigger part of him knew that she wasn’t dumb. She had never been. And even with the lack of control over her empathic abilities right now, she could feel that something was up. So there was no point in denying it.
Another small nod and his gaze turned to the city before them. There was a sting in his heart now that she’d brought it up, but he was also happy. Even if it was just sitting next to her like they’d done countless nights before in this very same spot. It felt nostalgic. Happy, but with a pinch of sadness. And for the first time he didn’t try to hide it from her. Mostly because he didn’t fully realize that until she spoke up again.
“Tell me. About us.” The violet-haired girl requested and softly placed her hand over his. This instantly made him look down at their hands, his heart trembling. Oh, how he wished to take her hand and press it against his lips.To hold her and tell her everything he’d never said to her. Or didn’t say enough. All the things she deserved to hear from him but never did because he was a coward. Afraid to let his own feelings known. Taking it for granted that she was an empath, thinking that she knew it anyway. He wished to take that time back and start all over. But how could he when there was so much inside of him and she had nothing?
Frowning, Damian flinched away from her hand and stood up. “There’s nothing to tell. I failed you. End of story.” And with that he left. Raven started to feel like that was a common thing between them. Because she felt like she was looking at him walking away from her for the dozenth time and it was breaking her heart.
---
Delicate fingers moved from one drawer to another, swiftly and quietly combing through various documents. There was a sense of urgency in the room. Mumbled sentences being the only thing disturbing the surrounding silence.
“What are you doing in my room?” A sudden voice disturbed the cloaked girl and she quickly turned around.
“I-- I’m trying to find something.” She stuttered trying not to look directly at the figure in the doorway, hidden in the shadows of the room.
“And what could that possibly be?” Damian asked dryly and walked inside without bothering to even turn on the lights. He didn’t need them to see her.
“Something-- Anything from our time together.” There was a hint of desperation in her voice. “It can’t be that there’s nothing. No pictures, no late night texts, no clothing items lost in each other’s room.” Raven had no opportunity to find these things on her own, as her phone got destroyed in the accident and she’d already looked through her own room for signs of anything.
“Why would you need that?”
“Because I want to see it. I need some proof, some-- something tangible.”
The way she uttered the very last word was like driving yet another dagger through his already punctured heart. “What we had was far more than just the material…” With a decisively silent stride, he stepped closer to her, taking her hand to press it against his chest. “Can’t you feel all the proof you could need?”
Blushing and completely taken aback by his sudden demeanor, Raven didn’t even know what to say. Purple hues darted back and forth trying to figure out what was the meaning of all of this. One thing was for sure, his heart was racing. And so was hers. It was the first time they’d been so close to each other for longer than ten seconds and the feelings were overwhelming. After months of not sensing much from Damian, all of a sudden she felt everything. There was anger, bitterness, impatience, despair, but also hope and love and she could feel his heart breaking.
“Damian, I…” She spoke in a tone of voice barely above a whisper and her hand lingered on his chest even when he let go of it. “I just want to remember…” Tears filled her eyes and a sigh escaped her lips as her head dropped to look down at the ground.
“And you will.” His voice softened all of a sudden and he gently cupped her face, lifting it up. “You’re making progress already.”
“What?” She let out an incredulous laugh. And if it hadn’t been dark, she could’ve sworn she saw him smiling.
“I intrigue you, Raven. I always have.” He stated, a grin widening on his face as he let go of her and walked around her. “You always wanted to figure me out. To understand how I’m evading your abilities. To know how I hide my emotions so well.” She listened to him carefully, watching him walk over to his jacket on the chair and pulling out a wallet from its pocket. “I figured if I stayed away, but close enough to peak your interest, you’d want to pursue your ‘quest’ all over again. And somehow the fact that you sneaked into my room tells me I was right.”
“So, in other words, you just decided to be a jerk about it.” She concluded, but couldn’t help but to release a chuckle.
“Oh, you love me like that.” Damian returned with what seemed like a piece of paper in his hand, his grin never having left his face.
“Do I?” She grinned back.
“Yes.” And with that he handed her a picture. Probably one of the only pictures they had ever taken together. Neither of them had ever been keen on taking pictures. But they’d both agreed that they wanted something to look back at someday. Damian had never imagined it would be like this.
Taking the picture in her hand, Raven instantly walked towards the door to take a look at it in better lighting because she didn’t want to turn on the lights and blind both of them. So the dim lights in the hallway were just perfect. They both looked happy in the picture. Spending time somewhere out in the city. An amusement park, from what she could tell. Looking at it made her smile.
“Tangible enough for you?” Damian asked as he walked up behind her. She nodded. “Don’t lose it--”
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For not giving up on me.” Raven turned to him with a smile as she held the picture against her chest. “For not giving up on us even if I’m… like this.”
Although surprised at first, his features soon softened and he offered her a smile back. “I would never.” Happy to have found what she was looking for, the girl then retrieved back into her own room, his gaze following her all the way through.
It was their first genuine moment together ever since she came to her senses after the accident. It had been nearly three months. And she showed little to no signs of recovery. Only small glimpses here and there. And it was torture. But for the first time ever, Damian felt like there was hope. There was still something there. She might not realize it yet, but it was there. He knew it.
He was going to bring her back to him, whatever it takes.

He woke up groggily, squinting at the way-too-bright fluorescent lights above him and grimacing at the sickly scent of a hospital room all around him. Damian raised a hand to his temple, a sound rising in his throat as he felt the stretch of his stitches. A quiet voice admonished from his side, “Hey, don’t pull them out.”
Damian froze at the sound, his eyes snapping open and his head whipping to face them. He hissed at the twinge of pain and tensed as a warm hand touched his wrist, his eyes flicking up to some mystery girl’s face.
He sneered at her, “Who the hell are you?”
Her face stayed stoic, but her lips twitched at his question. She practically sighed out his name, “Damian…”
“Where am I and how do you know my name?”
She closed her eyes as his wave of hostility washed over her, rolling her jaw once to calm herself down. An exhausted amethyst gaze met his irate olive one and she simply reminded, “I’m Raven.” The empath aimed a half smile his way, her worried eyes flitting over his injuries and settling on the fresh bandages that wrapped around his forehead. She pointed at his forearm, “Can I check your IV?”
His dark eyes narrowed for a second then he nodded, carefully considering her as she took care of him. A cloud of black engulfed a jar of cotton balls and a pack of sterile wipes, lifting them from the cabinets and floating them over to the cot. Raven glanced at his face once and then set about her work, her mind racing as she waited for his inevitable interrogation.
She slid off her rings and tucked her hair behind her ears, trying to keep a straight face as her mind ran a mile a minute. Most of her thoughts centered around just how bad his memory was at this point.
These last hours had been agonizing; seconds took minutes to pass when all she could do was twiddle her thumbs and wait for him to wake up. His tests had came back positive enough so his memories should return eventually, but for now? It was bound to be his introduction to the titans all over again. All the closed off secrecy, all the untrusting tension, all the prodding to get him to slowly break out of his shell. But, vain as it was, the worst part to this whole situation was that he didn’t remember her.
Her fingers trembled for half a second before she calmed herself again. Still, even in his wounded state, Damian noted the brief crackles of magic on her fingertips.
His jaw rolled and her magic slid between his fingers, stopping his fists from forming before he ripped any more wounds back open. Raven silently met his gaze again and he growled out, “You have powers.”
“I do.”
“That’s black magic.”
Raven stayed quiet at his accusatory tone and his glare harshened, “You’re… a demon?” He squinted at her and sat up the best he could, his head still feeling as if it were stuffed with cotton and his wobbly sense of balance affecting him with every movement.
“Don’t agitate your wounds too much.” Something was off about her. And it wasn’t the demonic presence that she brought; no, this didn’t feel right between them. Damian’s bleary mind could recognize that his anger at this wasn’t that unnatural, but her closedoffedness with him absolutely was.
Still, she was a (presumably evil) demon in his (very vulnerable) presence, “Screw you.”
Raven blinked, unfazed. “I know.”
She weakly shrugged when her non-answer was only met with a glare. Damian shifted in the starched sheets again, his mind on how all the black she wore made her stand out against the pristine whiteness of the hospital. His eyes glanced back down at the arms, trailing the tube that led to his IV. Just past that he spotted an open hamper and the blood soaked remains of his uniform; Raven didn’t react to how his brows furrowed again, her attention all on checking how alert he was, how often he had to forcibly blink to refocus his eyes, what angle he shifted to alleviate some of his pain as he looked around.
Damian’s thumb twitched, something wasn’t adding up. “So you’re a demon and you did all of this,” His bandaged hand stiffly gestured around the room, “For me?”
“Of course.”
“But you’re a demon.”
He was starting to sound like a broken record. A far cry from the no-nonsense, get all the facts as quickly and thoroughly as possible, impatient for any kind of dawdling Damian she knew. Still, the full extent of his head injury wasn’t known just yet, so she continued the conversation as if nothing was amiss.
Satisfied that his bandages were secure and that her magic wasn’t too obvious, she brought her hand back into her lap, rubbing her thumbs together. Damian glanced down at the movement, his brows furrowing. Pale fingers felt unnaturally bare without any rings, but why?
Raven pitched forward, “I’m also human. And your friend.”
He snorted, derisive at the idea, “My friend?”
“And your teammate, and your healer, and just,” She let out a sigh, her face softening as she wiped away some of the damp hair that clung to his forehead. His nose scrunched up and she briefly wondered if he’d hit her arm away. But he simply let her touch him and Raven gave him a timid half-smile, feeling his confusion through their bond, “I’m just someone who wants to know that you’re safe.”
She smiled again, the widest she’d done so since he woke. Damian narrowed his eyes at the way his stomach twisted at the sight, wondering if it was a result of her powers.
If Raven could read his thoughts, he didn’t know and she made no indication that she had. Instead, she grabbed his hand, “It took you a long while to finally trust me so I don’t expect you to do so now, but I do care about you.” Her thumb rubbed against his knuckles and he hesitated.
The demoness’ eyes closed for a moment and she visibly made up her mind, bringing his hand up and kissing his split knuckles. Damian blinked owlishly at her, stunned and worried at the way that knot in his stomach worsened until he felt it in thudding his chest. Raven grinned at that and pecked the inside of his palm, “And because I care, I know that you hate empty promises.”
She pecked his skin again, feeling his pulse, “But everything’s gonna go back to normal and you’ll realize that everything’s fine. I promise.”
Damian thickly swallowed, the words escaping before he could even really think about them, “I believe you.”
Raven didn’t smile, she beamed. Her shoulders shook as she held back her relieved laughter and she squeezed his hand, feeling the confusing tangle of his emotions through their bond, “You usually do.”
