i have SO MANY THOUGHTS abt how dan is a combination of two people. and both future people sent back in time to stop danny from becoming dan were also, in a way, combinations of two people (box lunch being the daughter of two ghosts, and skulktech being literally a fusion)

was this intentional? was it not? i don't know.

but i think about it a lot and i really think the bad future outside of dan is an underutilized concept in fandom.

I love this kinda crossover!!!!! One of my favorite pass times is taking 2 shows I like and assigning characters roles from the other show, also drawing characters in other characters' outfits, so this was fun to ponder!!

Danny knows the people he's working for are... shady at best but he needed this job, ever since he left Amity Park after getting into a bad fight with his parents, they wanted him to become a Ghost Hunter (funny how they never really pressured Jazz into it.), he made sure to shut down the portal now since he learned to make portals (and made sure to delete and burn his parents blueprints for it), renounced himself as Ghost King (he really didn't want the responsibility and helped set up a kinda self governing and kinda 'I will come back to help the Realms keep stable but I am NOT ruling' thing)

[Basically Danny is still technically the King, the Realms need him to keep stable (personal head canon the Realms reflect its Ruler, Danny is much more stable than Pariah Dark and thus the Realms are healing and slowly returning to its natural state), but Danny set up a somewhat self governing thing where he can leave but returns very so often to keep the Realms stable and healing. Its complicated but it works.]

AND because his grades tanked hard due to the accident and being a young ghost hero in high school, Danny didn't have a lot of choices for work or even school (he is in college, none of his dream ones though, and is juggling between it and odd jobs here and there)

Anyways so yeah, Danny knows the people he's working for aren't... great. He knows they're shady AF and knows he could maybe find out what if he used his ghost powers but he does need this job for just a bit longer, until his next paycheck that's all.

He also know his new co-worker might be an undercover cop and is investigating them.

Caroline Hill is a nice lady though, even if it was an act to get closer, polite, works hard when paired with him, and very pretty.

So Danny decides to help cover up tiny mistakes or distract their other co-workers/employers when she's snooping around their work areas/offices.

DP Crossover Angst Week Day 2 - Post Nasty Burger Explosion

Summary: He had done everything he could, sent from the future, then back to the present, all to stop his future evil self. But in the end, Danny's loved ones died in the explosion anyway, and now he had nowhere to go. So he goes to Clockwork.

Notes: I ended up completely starting from scratch for this around 11 pm, after getting 1,000 words into my first idea, but this is the result of take 2. I like it a lot better actually. Not technically a crossover, but you'll see where I'm going with this.

Danny had curled up on the ground of Clockwork’s tower, unwilling to move. He would be fine with never moving again, at the moment. He didn’t want to do or move ever again. 

The energy from the Ghost Zone seeped into him, slowly fixing his wounds from the aftermath of the explosion, completely against his will. Danny really wished it wouldn’t. He didn’t want them to heal. He had refused to let them heal throughout the entire process of the funerals, the pain the only thing keeping him at least somewhat grounded. But now in the Zone, avoiding both Vlad and CPS, Danny wasn’t allowed to keep them any longer. 

“Daniel, you understand that you cannot stay here?” Clockwork spoke up. 

Danny grumbled into his knees. 

“It is not by my will that you must leave, but this place is equally unsafe for you.” 

Danny mumbled irritably again, not bothering to speak up.  

“I cannot protect you as I wish here, even if I’m capable of it. The Observants will not allow you to stay here, especially after recent events.”

“Then where am I supposed to go!?” Danny shouted, snapping his head up. “I don’t have anywhere else! I can’t go home! I can’t stay here! I sure as hell can’t go to Vlad!” 

The Master of Time merely glanced at Danny, and he felt his temper light up. Did he even care?! It was practically the time ghost’s fault he was like this.

“First you send assassins after me! Then you send me into the future, where I witnessed the most horrible version of myself in existence, then back to the past, where everyone I cared about died anyway. I can’t go to Vlad because he’s the reason I go berserk in that timeline! And now you tell me I can’t possibly stay here because it’s not safe either! Tell me! What do I do now that I have nothing left!?” 

Clockwork simply turned around and leveled a look at Danny he couldn’t possibly figure out. It hurt either way.  

“ Please! ” Danny cried out. 

“What is it you want?” 

The question hit Danny like a brick to the face. He had just said what he wanted, hadn’t he? But that really wasn’t what he wanted, was it?

“You know I cannot give you what it is you desire.”

Danny crumpled in on himself, eyes blurring out. He wanted to go home. But home was FentonWorks. It was his parents. It was Jazz. It was his two best friends in the entire world, the only people who had been with him through thick and thin. But home was gone.  

“Then, please. Please, just tell me where I’m supposed to go,” Danny begged.  

Clockwork approached, leaning down and placing a thick-gloved hand on Danny’s shoulder. It was heavy. Clockwork was close, so close that Danny could even catch his own reflection in the glass of the clockcase in his chest. He looked terrible. 

“Daniel,” Clockwork began, his voice perfectly even. “These things you want are gone. Thus is the way things are, and the way things must be. All beings, both of the Realms and the mortal planes will end eventually. It is inescapable. But as all things must go, new things will arise and take their place.”

“Daniel James Fenton,” Clockwork said, as if his name could possibly have the kind of weight he gave it. “You are beloved .”

Danny looked up, not expecting those words, meeting Clockwork’s eyes, which held no room for doubt. 

“You are beloved. Both by those in your past, and by those who you have yet to meet. You are beloved by the very Infinite Realms herself and always shall be. That is one thing that cannot and will not change. But the Realms are not where you need to be at this moment. There are many things you have yet to learn, and many things you must learn before you return, or reality itself will be lesser for it.”

Danny didn’t understand. Clockwork made him seem so important, but he was no one. Just an orphaned kid who didn’t know how to die. He couldn’t possibly be as important as Clockwork made him seem. 

“You are beloved by the Realms herself, and this will come to be a terrible burden upon you. So for now, you must go, and not return,” Clockwork emphasized. 

“But where? ” Danny asked once again, sounding like a broken record in more ways than one. 

“You must go somewhere that will teach you the things you must learn.”

“And where is that?” 

“Somewhere very, very far away.” 

Danny frowned. “How do I get there?” 

Clockwork took a step back, and with his staff, opened a portal. It wasn’t the bright green Danny had come to associate with the Ghost Zone’s natural portals, nor the bright blue of Clockwork’s own. It couldn’t decide to select a color to be, and ended up burning into his eyes as a blinding white. 

Danny looked between Clockwork and the portal, and slowly dragged himself to his feet. His legs were barely able to support him. 

“Will I ever see any of them again?” Danny finally brought himself to ask. 

Clockwork expressions softened the slightest amount. 

“No.”

And Danny stepped through the portal.

A revamped version of my first post about DP.

Danny is confused, the problem with the GIW and the anti ecto law still a thing even after he is crowned and the problem is getting bigger as Danny is getting More and more accepting of a dramatic solution like banning people from the afterlife when the problem suddenly stopped as the GIW suddenly disappeared and the politicians who supported the act mysteriously died as every evidence that the act is real is gone, while Danny is glad that he don't have to do something drastic, he is confused that who would do that.

Meanwhile in an isolated island a group is burning the last of the dead GIW agents and politicians after going back in time to stop a apocalypse. The group was regular teen friends in their original timeline when the ghost king with a decree banned the people from going to the ghost zone and it caused problems (understatement) like ghosts eating other ghosts to be ghost titans that will destroy the world and that the group after having to fight everything (ghost titans, agent of the ghost king, and the ghost king himself (barely because the ghost king is powerful and the only reason the survival group won is that they have anti ghost weapons, blessing from the ancient ghost that want to get Danny to his senses, and the fact of the mage of the group got the equivalent of a super form( from trauma of seeing his sister dies and her soul consumed in front of him)and just barely overpower the ghost king)) and while they stopped the decree, the world is destroyed, traumatized the group and Danny enough that Danny just impaled his core to disappear and the group don't know what to do. Thankfully somehow the group has a favor from clockwork and they use the favor to go back in time to merge with their past selves mind to prevent time paradox and use their magic and training to kill everyone that is part of the reason for the anti ecto act without anyone noticing as well making a backup plan about terrorizing Danny to preventing him from dooming the world. They are 16 years old and just think about the trauma and PTSD they got from the bad future and the fact that 4 of them have enough magic skill and blessing to be an equivalent of high level demigod. Yeah Danny is fucked if he messed up.

I posted this on Reddit because they're much more negative about Sidney, but it's going here too.

(Note: In this post I use "obsession" both as the dictionary definition of the word, and as the fanon concept. The fanon concept will be capitalized as "Obsession", and the dictionary definition word will be capitalized as "obsession".)

Sidney Poindexter is a great character. We have more information about his life than we do about any other ghost. We know the year he died (1958) and approximately how old he was (17 or 18, because he was in senior year).

He has a great design. While the color green is often overused in other ghosts, Poindexter has no green in his design at all, and yet still manages to fit in with the rest of the ghost designs. His monochrome color palette is arranged very well, and it fits with his personality and backstory and lair- he's stuck in the time period he died, stuck in that last year of school. He's black and white like a photo from that time period.

Poindexter even introduced the term "halfa"! The majority of the fandom uses it, but in canon, Poindexter is the only one who ever says it.

Speaking of fanon concepts and Poindexter, Poindexter's obsession with bullies is very similar to the fanon concept of Obsessions. People say Danny has a protection Obsession, but Danny's only protecting the town because, to quote Spiderman, "with great power comes great responsibility." Meanwhile, Poindexter sees the entire world in terms of "bullies" and "people who need protecting from bullies," even lecturing Skulker about it! Skulker is a gigantic hunter made of metal and guns who wants to skin a child, and Poindexter is a tiny little nerd with 0 physical strength whatsoever, and yet Poindexter bosses Skulker around repeatedly.

Poindexter's obsession and trauma drive the plot of Splitting Images. He's a teen/young adult who faced a tragic death, implied to be either murder or suicide, and both are horrible options to go through. As a result, he's fixated on the thing that caused his death, his bullies and bullies in general. He's so obsessed that he jumps to conclusions and refuses to consider that he may be wrong. This personality flaw causes him to be the villain of his episode, despite him being a morally good person.

Poindexter sees himself as the hero and Danny as the villain, which is a very interesting thing for the villain of an episode to do! Many other villains in the show just want to cause problems on purpose. Poindexter thinks Danny is the one causing problems on purpose.

We see that when Danny is in Poindexter's lair and body, he can only see through the mirror to the human realm when he's actively looking through it. This shows that Poindexter is very likely to not have seen Dash bullying Danny, and it's coincidence that he saw Danny's revenge.

To me, Poindexter is the most ghostly of the ghosts. He's stuck in the past, he had a tragic death, he haunts a specific location, and there's even an urban legend about him!

Splitting Images, and therefore Poindexter, is often hated for its bad forced moral. But The Ultimate Enemy also has a bad forced moral. At least Splitting Images plot has a Watsonian explanation in the form of Poindexter's personality and trauma being the thing driving the plot. Meanwhile, in The Ultimate Enemy, the plot is driven by burger sauce ex machina. I've seen many people who dislike Poindexter due to the forced moral of Splitting Images, but like Dark Danny despite the forced moral of The Ultimate Enemy.

To me, Dark Danny seems like a flat one-note villain. Despite the grief that caused his existence, he doesn't seem to care about the people he's lost, or about anything really, and merely focuses on destruction. He wants to recreate the events that caused him, yes, but what is his motivation for causing the apocalypse and destroying Ember's vocal cords and putting Johnny in a wheelchair before any of the time travel stuff happened?

Poindexter is much more nuanced in personality and has a sensible motivation for causing problems. (Not sensible as in it's a good idea, but it makes sense given his personality and trauma that we already know.)

I'm not saying people should dislike Dark Danny. But please, give Poindexter a chance. He isn't any worse written than the rest of the characters in this show. I brought up Dark Danny in comparison due to the fact both their episodes have dumb forced morals, but I could easily compare Poindexter's writing to many other characters as well. He's much more fleshed out than the majority of the ghosts. But this post is getting too long, so I won't.

You know what.

ANOTHER DPxDC idea (as if I write prompts for anything else lol ✍(◔◡◔)

And once again, I think I might have a hyperfixation rn, another deaged Dani (Ellie) and Dan (Dante)! and Dad!Danny.

And you know what, lets make it another DannyxConner idea.

Danny is on a field trip with his class (NOT in Gotham though, LOVE Gotham but lets go with a different city) in like Central City or Metropolis (If Metropolis, Danny is SUPER excited to see the space sections they have at the museum they no doubt have, because well SUPERMAN is an alien and based in their city. If in Central City Conner is visiting Bart.)

During the trip he bumps into Conner and the two just hit it off. Conner enjoys listening to Danny rant about space and the stars and finds watching Danny's eyes light up in joy kinda cute. And if he got his new hero name Supernova from listening to Danny's rants about the stars well... no one needs to know how he got it.

Danny likes how chill Conner is and how the guy stood against Dash and the other jocks when Dash decided he wanted to mess with Danny during the trip, a rare thing nowadays but sometimes Dash does try, and how he respects/likes Danny's friends.

He didn't even say anything negative or hurtful when he found out Danny has two kids back home.

In the end the two exchange numbers, flirt hard, and maybe set up a date in the future. And then more dates. Becoming boyfriends. AND meeting the family. Conner is smitten with just out of toddlerhood Ellie and toddler Dante and adores them. And he loves how the Fentons just love him the moment he stepped into their house and was introduced as Danny's boyfriend, he made sure to bring over a pie Ma should him how to make.

Things get a bit complicated when Conner, Supernova, is at a reunion of YJ members and his phone lights up with a text message from Danny.

He's smiling with a goofy/soft look when he opens the text and see's its a picture of Danny holding a pouting toddler Dante and Ellie on his lap smiling with a notable gap in her teeth at the camera. The message he got was 'Ellie wanted you to know she finally lost her first baby tooth. Dan's been grumpier, I think he misses you.'

He is pulled out of his happy thoughts and musings when he hears Bart gasp hard and drop a bowl of snacks onto the floor. Conner turns to from the future Speedster and see's him about to have a panic attack.

Bart, Impulse, is having a freak out after catching a glimpse of the text picture Conner had gotten and being nosy wanted to know what got his friend to smile so smitten. He knew of Conner's current boyfriend and the kids Conner adores but haven't had time to be introduced to them or even see a pic.

He wasn't expecting to see the very MONSTER of his NIGHTMARES that basically destroyed the world in the FUTURE as a toddler pouting at a camera and surrounded by two smiling identical looking people either. People he never saw in the future or with HIM AND-

Oh.... OH!

Was that why he turned evil? Did something happen to his family?

DPxDC Prompt/Idea

The death of his parents brought in a lot of hidden information to young Timothy Drake. For example, Janet and Jack weren't the only family Tim had. Turns out, Janet Drake had two older sisters, whom she had estranged herself from a long time ago, meaning Tim had two blood aunts, an uncle, and two adult aged older cousins. The discovery of his other family was both joyful, and worrying, making his future uncertain until the social workers could work something out.

After court appearances and jurisdiction issues, Tim was finally plopped in the lap of the relitive that was deemed "most suitable", whatever that meant; his older cousin Danny.

From what Tim had overheard *cough*snooped out*cough, his Aunt Alicia lived in the middle of nowhere without much electricity or even internet, and while she would have taken him in, the social workers worried the drastic, and sudden change in environment, on top of his grief, would make everything even harder on him, especially since Alicia lived hours away from any therapists, which was a requirement due to the situation. His Aunt Maddie and her husband Jack were immediately denied, given the state of their home and the 'open lab' concept they had going on down stairs, not to mention the fact that their own kids had seemingky cut contact as soon as they turned 18. The next person they looked into was his cousin Jazz, Maddie's oldest child, but while she looked like the best fit on paper, given her job as a therapist and psychoanalysis gave her the means and emotional capabilities to raise a child, but Jazz's job wasn't stationary, she helped a lot with the FBI, and more specifically, the rehabilitation of Villains and Rogues, meaning she traveled a lot and tended to have a target on her back due to her Job, it just wasn't safe or consistent enough for rearing a child. That left Danny, Jazz's younger brother. At just 25 years old Danny was a freelance engineer, and consultant that worked according to his own hours, not only did having the ability to chose his own work schedule make it easier for him to spend time with Tim, but the fact that Danny could work anywhere meant that Tim didn't have to leave Gotham, as Danny was willing to move to Gotham so Tim didn't have to change schools, or leave his home.

So here Tim was, in Drake Mansion, sitting across from a cousin he had never meant before, his new guardian, trying to wrap his head around the entire situation as best he could.

When Danny heard from Jazz about their estranged younger cousin, he hadn't thought much on it. He felt bad for the kids situation, and he hoped the kid was actually getting looked after, but never in a million years did he expect to be deemed 'most suitable' to care for the kid. Honestly he's thought Jazz, or Aunt Alicia would be best suited, Jazz had the fancy "feelings degrees", and his Aunt had a peaceful farm, Danny was just a freelance engineer that worked out of his condo most days, while portaling back and fourth to the Ghost Zone to help Clockwork, and other Ghosts with whatever wacky hijinks they needed help with.

Phantom had retired, the Portal in his parents house sealed, and their blueprints tampered with just enough to not be obvious, but still make making another portal to Ghost Zone impossible. Danny had graduated with grades passable enough to get a partial scholarship, and then he left Amity, working labor jobs on the weekends to live and pay the rest of his tuition. Once he graduated, Danny started working with a company, before eventually breaking off to start working for himself.

Once Danny had left Amity, he got his name changed. He didnt hate his parents, but Danny had just started to not care, it was painful to yearn for acknowledging repeatedly, only to be ignored in favor of work, so Danny just stopped trying, changed his name, and simply didn't call or visit his parents. Jazz hadn't totally agree with his actions, she'd kept their parents name, but she didn't visit or talk to them much either, not unless they reached out first, so she didnt have much of a leg to stand on.

Given all that, Danny had been surprised when Tim's social worker reached out to him. At first he figured they wanted a character reference for his sister, but to his shock, they wanted to know if he would take Tim in, saying that he, Danny, seemed the most stable for the child. It was a whirlwind of questions, and background checks, and parenting classes, and court dates, but before long Danny found himself staring down at his little cousin in a too big, too cold, too staged mansion in Gotham New Jersy.

May I offer you some Skulktech angst?

Danny's main goal was never to do harm to his opponents, and despite Phantom and Plasmius fusing together the ghosts would have likely been expecting the normal status quo -some witty oneliners and being caught in the thermos at the end of the fight. Imagine when instead of that the fight doesn't end. Dan doesn't stop hitting the opponent who is already down.

Skulker especially is very vulnerable after his suit is destroyed. Danny has not attacked him once after removing him from his suit, but I think Dan would. And that lead me to think about the creation of Skulktech...

I’ve seen that future…

If you had told Danny that joining the justice league would mean getting up at the ass crack of dawn to go to some stupid meeting, he never would have joined. Well that not fully true but he might have agreed to have a Zata tube installed in Amity. Even with how much he hates those things it still seems like a better idea now that he is flying through space trying to catch up with this stupid satellite. He was already late thanks to Skulker, which means he missed his perfectly times window to catch the watchtower in orbit so now he’s here playing catch up.

He didn’t even bother to slow down from his Mach 20 pace when he reached it. Just turned intangible and shot through the window into the meeting room. He was expecting to get scolded for being late. Or for his dramatic entrance but he was not expecting the other members to not notice him at all on account of them arguing.

Taking the golden opportunity to get out of a scolding, (he did not want to be the victim of another bat glare) he kept he’s mouth shut and floated down to Hal. Who seemed to be sulking off to the side of the fight. “Dude, what’s gonna on?”

“Batman,” the name was spat like a curse. “Had plans on how to take us all out.” Hal waved to the screen before him, inviting Danny to look.

“Really?” He floated to the screen, seeing files with each leaguer’s name. After a moment of hesitation, he clicked on his own.

“Yeah! Can you fucking believe this?” Hal growled out. “He planned on how to kill us all and is now acting like we’re the unreasonable ones.” Danny would normally be shaken by Hal’s anger. The guy so rarely got truly anger that it startled Danny every time. In that moment however he couldn’t bring his attention way from the screen. It was a decent plan. Risky, unlikely to work but decent. The fact Batman did this at all though. “You think you know a guy, right? Phantom?” Hal asked when he saw the ghost wasn’t responding to him.

Before he could continue his questioning Phantom shot off across the room. All leaguers that could keep up with the ghost speed braces from a fight when they saw him heading straight for Batman. They were anger with him yeah but they didn’t want him dead. They all knew Phantom was physically capable of doing that and had only seen him fly this fast in battle.

Their concern turned to confusion however when Danny stopped dead still just before the dark knight. Looking the man over before reaching to the side, Danny’s hand disappearing into a green vortex that appeared out of thin air. When he pulled back, a small metal box, no bigger than a watch box, laid in his hand as he presented it to Batman.

“This is a blood blossom.” The soft words cut through the tense silence. “It is one of, no it is the only thing that can kill me. For good.” Batman looked at the box, then at the boy. Determination sat on his brows despite the tired sadness that coloured his eyes. “If I…” His eyes broke away from the white lenses. “If I go bad. Please. I understand you don’t want to kill. So please, give this to someone who will kill me.”

No one moved for a moment as they processed the request. Emotions shifting wildly in them all. Superman’s landing on anger. “Why would you give him that?!” He stepped forward. “He already plans to kill us all why would you give him that?!”

“Because I’ve seen that future.” The conference was stated plainly. Melancholy waiting down on the boy as he turn to the others. “The realms are different than here.” His trembled. “Time works differently. You can walk into tomorrow and run into yesterday. Every possibly future exists within the realms.”

He scanned each heroes face as his voice harden. “I’ve seen what happens. I know what happens if I turn.” Danny took a deep breath as he met superman’s eyes. Gazing at him with eyes that saw more than what was in front of him. “I killed you first Clark.” It was stated as fact. Non of them could bring themselves to doubt him. “Then Diana. Then Hal. One by one each one of you were killed… by me.”

His breath came out frosted, his emotions making it hard to keep from freezing the watchtower as he turned back to Batman. “You survived the longest. Out of everyone here you got the closest to stopping me. In that reality however, you didn’t know about ghost. Didn’t know how to fight me.” He held out the box again. “Please, I can’t let that future happen.”

Everyone was stunned. Watching in silent shock as the horror of what Phantom said sunk in. Batman recovers quickest, slowly reaching out to grab that box which he now identified as being made of lead.

“Thank you Phantom.” There was more to those words than what it may appear. A silent reassess that the ghost picked up on.

I mean? Aunt Alicia did it? She seems happy. Her life was AWFUL then she turned it around by divorcing her POS husband and buying that farm.

If it worked once...

Plus? Sam would be THRILLED. All sorts of rare and lost to time heritage seeds and unusual plants. Patiently cultivating ALIEN plants for earth atmosphere. Maybe even flowers.

Just? A whole farm FILLED with VERY valuable and nigh irreplaceable agricultural wonders. Full on "Weird Explorer"(channel name, seriously check it out if you like Unusual Fruits) stuff from YouTube. People travel for hundreds of miles to talk to this man. He's HUGE. Has a resting murder face. But will talk in this soft, deep rumble about various genuses and the strains he's working with for HOURS.

Farmers, biologists, and pretty much every OTHER plant enthusiast are wildly in love with this Handsome Grumpy-Cat-Like Cryptid.

I want Dan to be a farmer.

Like redeemed Dan goes through therapy, takes one look at the world filled with spandex wearing heroes and monologuing villains and just goes "Nope, I'm gonna go be a farmer."

He didn't really have a chance at living a peaceful life in the last timeline since he had Danny's job of keeping the peace (and then turned evil) but now that Danny's doing Danny's job, he's got a chance to go off and do his own thing.

So, he moves out to a nice little town called Smallville, right next to a lovely couple named the Kent's.

And he enjoys it.

It's pretty peaceful, nobody bothers him (bar from a few visits from Danny and Dani, and also the weekly phonecall from Jazz)

It's just nice.
