One day, Rhodey is in some science place (maybe SI, maybe a community college where he was giving a speech?) and he sees this kid tinkering who looks exactly like Tony Stark. The teen Tony Stark from when he first met him at MIT. Even down to the mannerisms. He goes up and has a brief conversation with this stranger, just curious. Then he leaves.

Unbeknownst to the kid, Peter, Rhodey managed to grab something for a DNA test. The kid just looked too much like his best friend. Like seeing a ghost

When they analyze the DNA, they learn that this kid is in fact Tony's biological son

Rhodey goes back to find the kid, this time bringing Happy. Peter gets to have the super fun conversation where two people who should know him but don't tell him that the person he saw as a father was his actual father, only it's too late

They convince Peter to come with them eventually. And Peter gets the shock of his entire life

Over the next little while, at Tony's bedside, Peter gets to know Morgan (who he would've seen as a sister anyway but this is insane). He also gets reacquainted with Rhodey, Happy, and Pepper, who all admittedly find him a bit sus with how much he seems to know.

But...this is Tony's kid. His son. So they let him be there, let him talk to Tony and hold his hand. 

Finally, finally, Tony wakes up.

And it turns out, being in a coma and thought dead by the entire world, including wizards, makes one exempt from certain magic

As he sits by Tony's bedside, Peter has to grapple with a lot of emotions. One of them is the realization that he was never actually related to Uncle Ben, which makes him feel like his uncle and aunt died for nothing

Pepper helps him through it. Even not knowing him the way she once did, she knows plenty about guilt complexes and chosen family. She assures Peter that he's still a Parker, no matter what, and that his aunt and uncle wouldn't have given him up for the world

Another thing Peter deals with is the fear of Tony waking up and not knowing him. It breaks his heart just thinking about it.

Just to be clear, because I'm seeing some misinfo going around about the oceangate stuff, it's not particular weird or an indication of failure for the controls of the submersible to be an xbox controller/other game controller.

It might sound odd to people who've never done any of this stuff, but legitimately xbox controllers fucking rock for being used to control stuff. It's significantly more accessible and user friendly for a large majority of people, and it absolutely makes sense to use them in certain contexts. It can actually massively improve safety because of the ease of use, and the fact you can have 10 full replacements in a cupboard that can get swapped in if anything goes wrong. It makes the controls really simple for people, and honestly it's a generally a solid design choice.

Oceangate's Titan isn't even the first company to do this, the idea most likely came from the US navy doing the exact same thing in 2017/2018 for submarines because they realized it was way easier for everyone:

Turns out that game controllers are just really easy to access, use, and sometimes keeping things simple is the best idea. Wow. Who'd have guessed the thing made to make things easy to control would make things easy to control.

We currently don't know what happened to the Titan sub, we don't know why things went wrong, if it was a freak accident or if it was bad practices or bad safety standards. Hopefully people get found and then we're able to find out. It may be caused by poor submersible design, but some of y'all are out here acting like you're suddenly submarine engineers because something sounds silly to you. Let's maybe wait until we have actual information on the situation in order to assign blame.

TNG Original Costume Tests: Data

I don’t have the actual documentary, just the Trekcore caps, so forgive me if I miss anything, and feel free to add on if you have more info!

A central conflict in Data’s design is how to make him look like he’s definitely a robot, but also a robot designed to look like a human. It’s definitely an interesting uncanny valley balance to strike. In the costumes tests, differences from the Data we know and love are all over the place!

This Data has lighter hair and eyebrows, especially at the hairline; show!Data’s hair dye (not a wig--thanks for pointing this out, @yellowcakeuf6) is a more consistent color. Also, the contacts are slightly less green, and I think the pupils are smaller. And check out that blush! 

His haircut is pretty similar, but it looks like the Sideburn Bible wasn’t solidified by this point, because the sideburns are a lot weaker. (This also could have something to do with the hair color.)

It also looks like the lip color was a question; I think the choice to just have his face all white was probably good, because it keeps his android-ness without making him feel super duper inhuman.

There also appears to have been a kinda cursed pink Data phase. Sorry for making you witness this. It’s in the name of journalism! (Hey, besides the cursedness, this picture is actually pretty cute.)

There are a bunch of these slightly spooky pictures with a yellow eye and an orange eye. Fairly sure this was not an intent of heterochromia, but rather just to test the look of two at the same time.
