Medici x Merlin Short

Merlin: *Meets Giuliano and is not impressed*

Giuliano: Do I know you?

Merlin: I sure hope not, or you'll most likely be seeing too much of me.

Giuliano: *Confused but intrigued* And why is that?

Merlin: Because I'd have done something stupid for the right reasons and somehow be rewarded with being your servant.

Giuliano: *A silent pause*... That's oddly specific.

Merlin: Believe me, with my luck, it'll happen within a day.

Giuliano: *Dumbfounded*

*After a lot of drinks in the tavern where they met, a fight was avoided and one whole, less bloody, Giuliano was escorted home.*

Lorenzo: You have done a great deed in returning my brother home whole and without injury, when you did not need to stranger. I offer you a place in our household. Work for us and you shall be rewarded with a high pay for your service to my brother.

Merlin: *Turns to Giuliano* See what I mean?

Giuliano: *Surprised* Brother!

Merlin: *Stares back at a confused Lorenzo* I'd like to have 2 days a week for myself and you've got a deal.

Lorenzo: Brilliant, you're hired.

Giuliano: *Making a fuss drunkenly* I'm right here, don't I get a say in this!?

Merlin: Of course Messieur, your the boss after all. Now let's see how badly of a room I'll be dealing with for the foreseeable future. *Helps support Giuliano while given directions by someone*

Giuliano: What!? Are you calling my room a mess?! You can't talk about me that way! *He whines childishly yet not shoving or pushing Merlin away.*

Merlin: Of course not Messieur. Never would dream of such Messieur.

Giuliano: *angry pouts* Sarcasm I see.

Merlin: Now I'm sure you're just seeing things Messieur. *Sarcasm drips from his tone. As he tries to hold back a smirk*

Giuliano: *Understands the tone and argues back.*

They did not notice or acknowledge the bewildered stares of the Medici members behind them, as they bantered like old time friends.

LATER IN GIULIANOS ROOM:

Giuliano: Hey, you never told me your name before.

Merlin: Ah? Oh I didn't, did I. Well, it's Merlin.

Giuliano: Merlin. What kind of name is that?

Merlin: *dead pans* English.

Giuliano: It's a dumb name.

Merlin: Like Giuliano?

Giuliano: *Whispers* Like your dumb face.

Merlin: I heard that.

Headcanon {𝐿𝑜𝓇𝑒𝓃𝓏𝑜}

One of my favorite things that I have noticed about Lorenzo and the Medici is that Lorenzo picks up his kids when they are little. Like they would run to him, and he wouldn't just hug them, no, he would pick them up and hold them. He wants to be a dad, he wanted to be a dad.

Lorenzo loved his kids, even his sons, even Piero, he just lost sight of how to be a dad. Okay, he lost sight of how to be a good person, but that's not the point.

Charlotte(1516 - 1570). Queen of Portugal. Wife of Juan III and mother of 6 children: José I, Manuel, Isabella, Sancho, Aldegunda, Mary. Charlotte devoted much time to the education of her children and the enlightenment of the Portuguese court. She was the favorite sister of Francis II and maintained a close relationship with his wife.

Francis II(1518 - 1590). King of France. Husband of Mary Tudor. Francis loved his wife. Unlike his father and brothers, he never had mistresses or children out of wedlock. The reign of Francis II was an era of prosperity and rise. Father of 8 children: Claude, Francis III, Catherine, Charlotte, Tristan, Raoul, Adele, Henry.

Henry(1519 - 1587). Duke of Orleans. Husband of Catherine de Medici and father of 10 children: Francis, Elizabeth, Claude, Louis, Charles, Henry, Margaret, Hercule, Victoria and Jeanne. All his life loved only his mistress Diana de Poitiers, even wanted to marry her, but because of pressure from his father did not do it.

Still mad 546 years later...

Every time I go back to read about the Pazzi Conspiracy, I can't help feeling so sad for both Lorenzo and Giuliano. Giuliano was an all around good guy, wasn't really involved in politics (maybe bc Lorenzo was worried he wouldn't be able to handle it), kind-hearted, and friendly to everyone around him. He didn't have to die in such a brutal way. Lorenzo, I can kind of understand why (don't support it tho), since most of the diplomacy and dealings were through/with him. But just imagine Lorenzo finding out that his little brother who was largely the most innocent of them, was the one killed; not him (even though, he, as he older sibling, should have protected Giuliano).

I can't imagine the survivor's guilt Lorenzo had after the whole thing. And don't get me started on how Giuliano's killers (his so-called "friends" Bernardo and Francesco) personally went to get him to come to church and even hugged/joked with him as friends do to check if he was wearing armor and to let his guard down. I mean, no shit, he thought you guys were his friends! The Medici must have known there were ppl who had a grudge against them, but Giuliano never judged those guys and still trusted them wtf

It has been a week or two since I've started to rewatch the series 'Medici: Masters of Florence'. Every time I start a new period show or rewatch an old one, I feel the need to go through the internet and research the characters of the show. I already downloaded a few books about them. I believe I will make a few threads/posts around the Medici's, especially about my favorites, like Lorenzo the Magnificent💞 and his brother Giuliano de' Medici💔.

If the multiverse really exists, I hope that Giuliano survived the Pazzi conspiracy.

Генрих(1551 - 1620).Герцог Анжуйский. Муж Марии Клевской(умерла при родах вместе с ребёнком) и Луизы Лотарингской. Мария Клевская была первой женой Генриха. Герцог горько оплакивал свою супругу и решил больше никогда не жениться, но мать и брат - король настояли на повторном браке. Вторую жену Генрих не любил, но относился к ней с теплотой и уважением. У Луизы и Генриха родилось 7 детей: Николя, Екатерина, Жанна, Антуан, Жерар, Луиза и Аврора.

Маргарита(1553 - 1615).Герцогиня де Гиз. Жена Генриха де Гиза. Супружеская жизнь Маргариты и Генриха была счастливой. С детства Маргарита отличалась независимым нравом и острым умом. Знала 5 иностранных языков и хорошо владела пером. В браке родилось 10 детей: Франсуа, Анна, Артуа, Эммануэль, Генрих, Марсель, Екатерина, Рената, Гийом и Жан.

Виктория(1556 - 1631).Королева Швеции. Жена Карла IX. Сестра - близнец Жанны. Виктория была очень образованной и дипломатичной женщиной. Брак короля и королевы был счастливым. Также Виктория сопровождала своего супруга в поездках в другие государства. Помимо этого, она вела тесную переписку не только со своими братьями и сёстрами, но и с родственниками мужа. В браке родилось 10 детей: Карл X, Маргарита, Катарина, Густав, Магнус, Эрик, Юхан, Кристина, Хедвига и Биргер.

Жанна(1556 - 1588).Королева Португалии. Жена Себастьяна I. Жанну описывали как нежную женщину, которая заслужила уважение своего мужа и португальского двора.
