In the current rapidly evolving digital currency market, decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms are redefining the shape of financial services with their unique advantages. Bit Loop, as a leading decentralized lending platform, not only provides a safe and transparent lending environment, but also opens up new passive income channels for users through its innovative sharing reward system.
Personal links and permanent ties: Create a stable revenue stream One of the core parts of Bit Loop is its recommendation system, which allows any user to generate a unique sharing link when they join the platform. This link is not only a “key” for users to join the Bit Loop, but also a tool for them to establish an offline network. It is worth noting that offline partners who join through this link are permanently tied to the recommender, ensuring that the sharer can continue to receive rewards from the offline partner’s activities.
Unalterable referral relationships: Ensure fairness and transparency A significant advantage of blockchain technology is the immutability of its data. In Bit Loop, this means that once a referral link and live partnership is established, the relationship is fixed and cannot be changed. This design not only protects the interests of recommenders, but also brings a stable user base and activity to the platform, while ensuring the fairness and transparency of transactions.
Automatically distribute rewards: Simplify the revenue process Another highlight of the Bit Loop platform is the ability for smart contracts to automatically distribute rewards. When the partner completes the circulation cycle, such as investment returns or loan payments, the smart contract automatically calculates and sends the corresponding percentage of rewards directly to the recommender’s wallet. This automatic reward distribution mechanism not only simplifies the process of receiving benefits, but also greatly improves the efficiency of capital circulation.
Privacy protection and security: A security barrier for funds All transactions and money flows are carried out on the blockchain, guaranteeing transparency and traceability of every operation. In addition, the use of smart contracts significantly reduces the risk of fraud and misoperation, providing a solid security barrier for user funds. Users can confidently invest and promote boldly, and enjoy the various conveniences brought by decentralized finance.
conclusion As decentralized finance continues to evolve, Bit Loop offers a new economic model through its unique recommendation system that enables users to enjoy highly secure and transparent financial services while also earning passive income by building and maintaining a personal network. Whether for investors seeking stable passive income or innovators looking to explore new financial possibilities through blockchain technology, Bit Loop provides a platform not to be missed.

Vitalik Buterin Says Crypto Is a ‘Better Bet’ Than ‘Incredibly Inconvenient’ Gold
Tumblr media
While Buterin asserts that such characteristics make gold less appealing, some crypto opponents argued that gold is better, because unlike the Ethereum blockchain, it is not controlled by only a few entities.
Decentralized Issuer of Money
The Ethereum blockchain co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, waded into the crypto-versus-gold debate after he posted a tweet suggesting that the former is a better bet than the precious metal. In his Oct. 26, 2022 tweet, Buterin slates author Zach Weinersmith’s assertion which implies that gold fits well with what crypto enthusiasts are advocating for. As suggested by Weinersmith in his tweet posted on the same day, the only meaningful argument put forward by crypto advocates is their call for a decentralized money-issuing authority. Still, the author wondered why gold, given its qualities and characteristics, is not being touted as a solution. So, the only argument I've heard about crypto that makes sense within the believer's own framework is that they don't want a centralized authority for money. In that framework though, why not just go with gold? — Zach Weinersmith (@ZachWeiner) October 26, 2022 However, in pushing back against Weinersmith’s suggestion, the Ethereum blockchain co-founder reminded the author of the key areas where the precious metal seemingly comes up short. He said: Gold is incredibly inconvenient. It’s difficult to use, particularly when transacting with untrusted parties. It doesn’t support safe storage options like multi-sig. At this point, gold has less adoption than crypto, so crypto is the better bet. Meanwhile, Buterin’s terse response to Wienersmith’s initial tweet drew an immediate reaction from both crypto opponents and advocates on Twitter. One user named Hayden.eth argued that “gold also has the risk of huge centrally controlled inflation due to asteroid mining.”
Crypto Not Tangible Like Gold
However, Twitter user Golden Knight appeared to question the Ethereum blockchain’s decentralization credentials, given the ongoing reports which suggest that only a few parties are controlling the chain. According to the user, having few parties controlling a blockchain potentially means they “could get control over the transactions worldwide.” One supporter of gold appeared to question the wisdom of using digital currencies in an era characterized by power outages. According to the user, gold is a better alternative because unlike crypto, it is tangible. Twitter user Levraham Spreadsmith, a self-proclaimed “optionality maxi,” appeared to use a reworked version of Buterin’s tweet to attack the Ethereum blockchain. “Ethereum is incredibly inconvenient. It’s difficult to use, particularly when transacting. It can’t be made into a water bottle like stainless steel. At this point, Ethereum has less adoption and a lower market cap than stainless steel, so stainless steel is the better bet,” Spreadsmith argued. The user also went on to list industries where the ethereum blockchain is not needed but where stainless steel is widely used. What are your thoughts on this story? Let us know what you think in the comments section below. Read the full article

Join me and take action in the Battle for Libraries
As you may know, I am a passionate lover of the Internet Archive. Through 2020, I ran a section on my ephemera blog where I talked about hits from the Wayback Machine; I am a contributor myself, to the extent that my free time allows; even a lot of the music I play on streams is from there.
Yesterday, the worst happened: the future of 4 million digital books on the Internet Archive is now at stake, as well as libraries everywhere in the USA. I learned that the methods being targeted in this lawsuit (CDL, Controlled Digital Lending) are not just unique to the Internet Archive, but apply to the way even libraries like the fucking Boston Public Library, one of the largest libraries in the United States. This is a threat to public libraries and accessibility. The alternative we are expected to follow is book bans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How can I help?
Donate if you have the money, obviously. But I know that's hard.
Sign the petition and sign up for email updates at Battle for Libraries. Not just a change.org petition but an established group that is working on organizing rallies.
They have some freebie graphics you can put on your posts (above). I don't see the harm in it.
Subscribe to the Empowering Libraries newsletter.
Support your local library. Even just going there when you can counts, they need the numbers! Check out books, look at their equipment if they have a makerspace.
Now's a good time to make personal backups of things that you could not live without. There's no real hope of an Internet Archive Archive (more on why it's more difficult than you think), but decentralized backups are always a good thing.
Don't just take it for me. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!
How to argue with "But piracy..."
First off, don't argue with trolls. But if you have an acquaintance who really doesn't get it, here's some resources.
Bandcamp's stance on piracy: "It’s not like they’d slap their forehead and open their wallet. Instead, they’d just move on to some other site where those restrictions aren’t in place."
"But if they steal it – how can I make money?"
Small Publisher Embraces Controlled Digital Lending to Connect with New Readers: "I think in the end, it drives sales because you are finding readers you wouldn’t normally have. Those readers aren’t getting a copy that they keep forever — it’s a copy that’s going to lead them to want to own it."
In the hopefully-near future I will be publishing a list of online library catalogues; coincidentally, I was reading a decade-old book about digital libraries, so I've got a ton of links for you guys.

The Finances of Cyberpunk Dystopia
The dazzling neon lights, gritty streets, and high-tech innovations painted in the cyberpunk landscape have always been an intoxicating visual. But if you peel away the layers, you'll find a core deeply rooted in economic disparity, corporate overreach, and alternative financial systems. This genre, encapsulated in books, TV shows, films, games, and anime, has often painted a dystopian view of future financial systems. Let’s delve into the intricate details of these economic portrayals.
Corporate Currency and Credits One of the most prominent themes in cyberpunk is the omnipresence of mega-corporations. These entities have grown so influential that they have their own currencies, rendering national currencies obsolete. Think of the Eurodollars in "Cyberpunk 2077", or the corporate credits in "Neuromancer". These universal credits are often digital and can be traded, earned, and stolen, not too dissimilar to cryptocurrencies today.
Cryptocurrencies and Digital Assets Many cyberpunk tales, like Neal Stephenson's "Snow Crash", hint at decentralized digital currencies. In these narratives, individuals rely on these currencies for anonymous transactions. With the rise of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, this vision seems closer to reality than fiction. Cryptocurrencies represent a decentralized, peer-to-peer financial system where transactions are recorded on a blockchain, away from the prying eyes of governmental institutions.
Bounty Systems With the decline of conventional law enforcement in some cyberpunk depictions, there's a rise in privatized justice. This includes bounty systems where individuals or groups are paid to enforce laws or hunt down criminals. "Altered Carbon" and "Cowboy Bebop" both provide glimpses into such a world. While bounty hunting has historical precedents, its heightened prevalence in a tech-driven world could be a potential future scenario, especially with the privatization of many sectors.
Barter and Trade Systems In a world where digital surveillance is rampant, going off-grid and relying on barter becomes appealing. Some cyberpunk stories show characters trading goods and services directly, without the need for a standardized currency. This throwback to ancient economic systems is a form of resistance against corporate and state surveillance.
Resource-Based Economy Some stories, like those in the "Eclipse Phase" game, depict a future where humanity has moved beyond the constraints of money. Instead, resources are allocated based on need and sustainability. This post-scarcity economy is often made possible by advanced technologies like nanofabricators, which can produce almost any item on-demand. While it sounds utopian, it raises questions about value, motivation, and societal organization.
Which Are Most Likely? Given the rapid advancement of technology, especially in the finance sector, the notion of cryptocurrencies and digital assets seems to be the most probable. We're already witnessing a shift towards digital transactions and the rise of decentralized finance (DeFi).
Corporate currencies, on the other hand, while possible, would require an immense concentration of power in the hands of a few entities - a scenario which many governments would likely resist. As for bounty systems, while privatized law enforcement is a possibility, it's one many would hope remains fiction.
The beauty of the cyberpunk genre is its ability to reflect our societal concerns and amplify them. Whether it's a cautionary tale or a speculative future, these financial landscapes provoke thought and inspire debate about the direction in which we're headed.

otrtbs revealed to be nft expert???
first of all, why? second of all please bestow your knowledge upon us lay people they still make no sense to me - are people still making them??
i wrote about nft's as an art medium for my master's dissertation this year!!!!! (so very sorry i could talk about this forever and ever)
i was super interested in contemporary artists using crypto technology as an art medium and exploring whether or not nfts had true disruptive potential in the current art world or if they were all fad and no substance (<- to ME nfts are evil. but i digress) i analyzed the disruptive potential of nfts from a feminist perspective applying a few feminist frameworks (that were closely related to or that heavily inspired major feminist art movements) to nft art practices to see how well the technology stood up against the art world status quo
N E WAYZ. yes!! people are still making nfts today!!! however, it is no where near the boom that happened in 2021. also cryptocurrency is experiencing a crash already which has caused a whole nft market crash and i could go on and on about the digital plundering of new technology and resources and how men capitalized off of this space marketed toward and for women and minority artists and made as much money from something that had true equalizing and decentralizing potential and stripped it bare of all the benefits in order to make a quick cash grab but i'll stop b4 i go too far.
if you want me to explain nfts and what they are (more from an art standpoint than a technological one) i can do my best to parse through the complex language and make it brief!! but it would probably have to be its own post bc it would still be pretty long i think just lmk!! <33

Is Bitcoin a Good Investment? Expert Opinions and Analysis
Bitcoin is a digital currency that has gained significant attention in recent years. It is a decentralized currency that operates on a peer-to-peer network, and its value has fluctuated widely over time. In this blog post, we will explore expert opinions and analysis to answer the question: Is Bitcoin a good investment?
Expert Opinions
Warren Buffett
Warren Buffett, one of the most successful investors of all time, has been critical of Bitcoin. In 2018, he called Bitcoin "rat poison squared" and said that it has no intrinsic value. He has also warned investors against investing in cryptocurrencies.
Ray Dalio
Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater Associates, has been more positive about Bitcoin. He has said that Bitcoin could be a good alternative to cash, and that it has some similarities to gold. However, he has also warned that Bitcoin is highly volatile and that investors should be careful.
Jack Dorsey
Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter and Square, has been a strong supporter of Bitcoin. He has said that Bitcoin is the "best candidate" to become a global currency, and that it has the potential to create a more accessible financial system.
Analysis
Volatility
Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset, and its value can fluctuate widely over short periods of time. This makes it a risky investment, as investors could lose a significant amount of money if the value of Bitcoin drops.
Adoption
Bitcoin has seen significant adoption in recent years, with more merchants and businesses accepting it as a form of payment. This could increase the value of Bitcoin over time, as more people use it as a currency.
Regulation
Regulation is a key factor for the future of Bitcoin. If governments and financial institutions continue to regulate Bitcoin, it could become more widely adopted and increase in value. However, if regulation becomes more restrictive, it could limit the adoption and value of Bitcoin.
Conclusion
The question of whether Bitcoin is a good investment is a complex one. Expert opinions are divided, with some warning against investing in cryptocurrencies and others being more positive. Analysis shows that Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset, but it has seen significant adoption and could increase in value over time. Regulation is a key factor for the future of Bitcoin, and investors should be aware of the risks and potential rewards before investing. As with any investment, it is important to do your own research and consult with financial experts before making any decisions.

"I will also write my reflection about the "shark". Because I've been thinking about it for the second day and still feel the need to write. This will be a long and possibly boring post. And for me, for some reason, this is not about humanism, with which, even during the 16 months of genocide and the horrors of war, Ukrainians, in my opinion, are fine. It's about somewhat double standards.
While studying the history of our Ukraine, I used to be often disturbed by the feeling that the world approached Ukrainians with some kind of prejudiced and overestimated bar.
During the Holodomor of 1932-1933, the Russians killed millions of Ukrainians, the world knew, but remained silent, even today they cannot take the Pulitzer Prize from the scoundrel - a servant of Stalin - Durante. And we are still fighting for full recognition of the Holodomor as Genocide and full condemnation of Russia for it.
During the Second World War, the vast majority of the European theater of war was on the territory of Ukraine. For 6 years, armies with two hateful regimes marched back and forth through our homes. Ukraine was not the only country that was occupied by the nazis (and before that by the Soviet Union), but we were the only ones who were always complained that the Ukrainians somehow did not survive the right way under the occupation. Claims that I have not heard in the same number about Western European countries.
During the first years of independence, after the completely unequal exchange of the 3rd largest nuclear arsenal in the world for a piece of paper from Budapest, after the first failed privatization reform with a frankly evil design, which, in the absence of the rule of law, people's funds and minimal financial literacy, became the basis of oligarchization, we more than someone were reprimanded for corruption, and at the same time they dealt with our oligarchs, as they did with Russian oligarchs for a long time - and with some still do. It does not mean that we did not have corruption, but most of our corruption chains were impossible without the participation of other countries.
During Russia's attack on us in 2014, there were too many examples that I personally remember of demands to Ukraine, especially regarding uncontrolled territories captured by the Russians, rather than demands to the aggressor.
During the 2015+ reforms, there were many important reforms recommended by the partners, but there were also decentralization, openness of public finances, international procurement and prozorro, digitalization, which you will not find in any international commitment until they become successful. And there were frankly failed reforms in the style of privatization in 1995, which turned into annual experiments with changes in laws without results. And as a small example - despite a successful track record, in 5 years in the Ministry of Finance and in the nomination committee, I did not manage to defend the simple and such a natural requirement of knowledge/study of the Ukrainian language by candidates for supervisory boards of state-owned companies, so as not to strengthen the inferiority complex.
And of course, I fully understand that we, Ukrainians, are not perfect. That there were crimes on our part, and there were crimes among us, and there was systemic corruption before 2013, and although it is no longer non-systemic, it unfortunately remained after that. That's why I always drove away such thoughts about the bias of the world, explaining to myself that: "Life is not fair, we ourselves must work harder and prove that we can" or "There is no globe of Ukraine. Everyone has their own interests. We need to grow up and fight for the interests of Ukraine in an adult way and not be emotionally offended" and in the end "this is a whole century of Russian propaganda, culture-multure and art, which they generously promoted for money and look at us through the prism of this anti-Ukrainian propaganda"
And somehow these explanations allowed me to turn unpleasant pages and direct all my energy to work. To prove that we, Ukrainians, can do everything and more. We can be the best international student, we can reduce the debt to less than 50% of GDP and the deficit below 2%. And the world will see and appreciate what kind of Europeans and democrats we are. That we are equal among equals.
So when I am now in the 16th month of the bloody massacre, which was arranged by the aggressive, inadequate Russian imperial neighbors in our country, when after Bucha, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Izyum, tortured women and children, our killed prisoners of war in Olenivka and tortured, barely alive soldiers, whom we receive from rashists in exchange, when our prisoners are cut off their heads and castrated on camera - and we all still adhere to the customs of war and all conventions, we save people and animals, when inhumans blow up a dam and drown whole regions in water - once again we hear that "you shouldn't joke like that", or "for some reason Ukrainians don't shake hands with some Russian athletes" or "Ukrainians refuse to speak at the same event with Russian imperial liberals" or "somehow the wrong chevrons were worn by those who use their bodies to close the civilized world from the Russian plague", this feeling of injustice in the approach to Ukraine creeps up on me again. It seems that the victim, who is fighting, is being denied even the right to an emotion towards the executioner. How once the Soviet Russians during the Holodomor denied us the right to mourn the dead and tried to steal even the memory of our grief.
Nevertheless, we have a goal - to survive and win. And we understand that achieving this goal is existentially important for Ukraine as a country and Ukrainians as people. That's why we will once again drive away these thoughts of injustice from us, and once again, we will do what we as Ukrainians know how to do - we will join the work with double strength. And we'll bite our victory out.
Glory to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to all our defenders, and to our heroic people! ✊🏼🇺🇦"
(c) Oksana Markarova
