For people accustomed to blue skies and green hills those places where it is the other other way around give no comfort.
Prompt, process, and more under the fold. This one's a doozy.
'Lets talk image prompting.
I've covered it in other posts, but Midjourney has had image prompting for some time. basically, it's a system by which an image is submitted, broken down into the token language the AI converts text prompts into and uses those tokens in the prompting process.
No actual pixel data is extracted, rather, it uses the image-recognition systems that all generative image systems have to engineer a machine-prompt that draws on information from the dataset. The new Style prompt uses the same system, it just filters out the subject matter and keeps the style.
Clip interrogator without the middleman, so to speak.
So for this job, I started with this image:
Which was actually originally a lava flow that I used deep dream and deep style on a few years back with a bunch of cell phone and other tech-junk pics, before changing the lava red-orange to poison green.
That was used as an image prompt with the text prompt:
a landscape of green slime and strange circuitry, deepdream vibes
Under version 4 of Midjourney. Which produced these:
Which were then image prompted together (you can't prompt with just an image, either 2 images or an image plus text prompt is required in MJ's system) under Midjourney V6.
With some iteration and outpainting, that made:
With a couple variants apiece.
Those were then composited and recolored in photoshop to produce "For People Accustomed". I went with a more varied color palette to give more of a feeling of a strange alien sunrise.
Having some fun in the impressionistic/expressionistic areas.

If you want to stop AI from hurting artists, don't try to persuade people not to use it. Instead teach boomers how to make Minion memes with it. Nothing will kill the AI vibe faster than Carol in accounts receivable thinking it's cool

Hi, I am going through difficult times these days. I'm out of work. I wasn't actually doing what I loved. but I don't have the motivation to do what I love. I have to take some exams to get my dream job. I can't study for those exams. it does not come from inside of me. What would you suggest me? sorry for my english. not so good :(
Hi dearest,
I may not understand the depth of your difficulty but I have had difficult moments too and it took me a while to get over them. These are questions to ask yourself:
Reflection
What is difficult for me?
Why am I so stressed?
What is wrong about my work?
Why don't I have the motivation to do what I love?
What do I love?
Why do I love it?
What is my dream job?
What does it take to get my dream job?
What will i gain by doing my dream job?
What if I don't get my dream job?
How am I stopping myself from fulfilling my goals?
What is within my control?
What is beyond my control?
Do I believe that things will get better?
Who can I trust to share what I am going through?
Guide
1. Process your emotion
You need to give yourself the time process your feelings of fear, sadness or sorrow. Cry it out! There are days when I have screamed, wailed and picked myself up. Difficult times hurt in every form it takes. Please don't be too hard on yourself.
2. Deep thinking: You need to logically face the problem/issue. Is this something you have to accept or something you have to change? Go through the highs and lows. Go through all the problems you have faced and how you overcame them. Think of the next right thing to do, don't overwhelm yourself with 5-10 years from now, figure today out first
3. Self care: Get up from the slump- arrange your room, journal, cook, walk, drink lots of water, meditate, or nap. You want to take care of yourself during this time.
I hope this helps, thank you for reaching out. I am here for you if you need someone to talk to you. Sending you love and joy!

I look forward to not having to post about this AI shit nearly as much anymore. Truly.
To an extent the investment isn't just professional, or "simply" personal on a 'I'm an artist and I wanna do art w/o being constantly demeaned and exploited' level. I have always loved machine learning/neural net nonsense. It's a niche interest that has a lot of really hilarious output and applications, not the least of which was Talk to Transformer, when it existed.
Like-- getting a robot to try and expand on my own writing was often times pretty hilarious. And I often submitted and resubmitted the same images to Deep Dream sites to see what bizarre hallucinations it could come up with, ala DogThing turned Duck Hell:
Enhance!
Oh god
It was fun, it was silly, it was probably feeding a shitty algorithm on my work, but it was something I could do to pass the time, and just in general a weird little tool w/ which I could entertain myself.
Like so.
I played around with a pixel version of the tools we have currently, too, and got some real bonkers results, so it's just-- IDK, sad. Disappointing. There were a lot of great applications shit like this had in terms of augmenting your own work, and the well feels so thoroughly poisoned now that it's hard to imagine when I'll see these two hobbies meet on ethical terms.
