Paige lets out a heavy exhale and hovers lower to the floor; he appears more exhausted than before.
"My dad can be a real stickler for the rules, and he's someone you DO NOT want to make upset. He can get kind of scary. If my dad ever saw Canela doing something like that, hoo boy, she'd be in deep waters. Deep like a trench. He already doesn't like her all that much since-"
Canela coughs loudly to gain back his attention. "OKAY, that's enough Paige," she interjects.
"Anyways...there are rules in place that others must not cross around here, and I'm doing my BEST"- he looks back at her-"to keep my friend out of TROUBLE."
Canela sighs and rubs her arm sheepishly. She keeps her head low, avoiding Paige's stare. "I know, I'm sorry okay. I promise I'll do my best not to do that here again."

Trapped Fear
At first Fright Knight was not loyal to Pariah, maybe it was because he was the combination of many warriors and he knew that tyranny would lead to nothing. However, because of this the former king engaged him in battle and captured his core, making him loyal.
Like all Ancients, Fright Knight could survive without his core but had to obey the person holding it. He and Clockwork shared that unfortunate fate, though Fright Knight considered being at the mercy of the Observants far worse.
When Danny defeated Pariah Dark his control over Fright Knight stopped, the knight foolishly thought he would take back what was his, but the old king was selfish and thrown the stone of fear into the human world, where he knew Fright Knight would not enter.
Disappointed but used to it, Fright Knight resigned to not finding that part of himself, he served Danny from that moment on, becoming his protector and above all, his friend. Until someone found his core and instead of being free, he was summoned and resigned to fulfill the words of his new owner.
Of course, Danny was worried when his knight disappeared from Phantom Palace, and after a long search he found his whereabouts in a city: Gotham. A man called "Scarecrow" was spreading fear in the city, and it seemed very familiar to him.
After a fight with the bats he got the information he needed: his knight was following the man. When he went to face his old friend, the king noticed that Fright Knight was not speaking on his will, he was crying and sending messages of help that only he could understand. The King was furious, and maybe it was time to show why no one messed with what was his.

Progress report:
Scaled Over (the Dragon Zuko fic): 30% done, I am tentatively aiming to finish the final chapter this weekend so I can add that sweet sweet "complete" to the work
Blindsiding Badgermoles and Towards the Sun: outlining next chapters, BB especially still needs a little think time to get the scenes in order
Fox's Tongue: next chapter totally written, saving editing for Monday night or if my brain is too bleh for real writing

(blueespeon) Toshi @ Canela
What exactly is this magic of yours anyway? I saw the whole thing, the poster's eyes moving, the weird ditto eyes on Charade, a meowscarada who I have met before and who I know is definitely not a ditto, and that chicken tail thing on your back.
Do you have illusion magic or is what I am seeing completely real?
"Sorry, I don't mean to be rude. Rumors and gossip run through this town like a Rapidash late for work, and I don't have the energy to be dealing with that right now."
Canela notices the books she had dropped earlier, and picks them up in a hurry. She sighs and holds the books close to her chest, then looks back at the espeon. The young braixen's eyes linger for a moment on Toshi's forehead gem, before she quickly shakes her head to clear her mind again.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to stare, you just seem like a very powerful psychic types. And, you remind me of someone I knew once." She adjusts her grip on her books and starts to move towards the bookshelves again.
For a moment she pauses and looks back at the espeon with a small smile. "Maybe one day I could explain myself better to you, Ma'am."

okay so i was thinking of a joke earlier about how in DPDC Amity Park's slogan "a great place to live" is not only city propaganda but also the city lording it over the rest of America for being normal. But then I remembered that, despite how many DCU Cities with heroes in it there are, the amount of cities in America without heroes still far outnumber the amount of cities in America WITH heroes.
So I did a little digging so the joke would still land. Something most heroes have in common is that they operate in major cities. What makes a major city? I found that the general consensus is that the population is roughly over or around a million. THEN I looked up the populations of cities in the DCU that I thought of off the top of my head. So Gotham, Metropolis, Starling City, Central City, Jump City. All of them ranked up to millions in population (most of them were in the tens of millions).
Amity Park's wikipedia describes it as being similar to specifically Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Philadelphia's Population: 1.576 million as of 2021
Chicago's Population: 2.697 million as of 2021
San Francisco: 815,201 as of 2021
Whiiich means that Amity Park if we take that from canon, is probably a major city. There are approximately 19,000 cities in America with probably less than a hundred that are major cities. Adding the DCU major cities wouldn't skew the data too much.
Which MEANS that I can make the joke that Amity Park's "great place to live" is not only just typical city propaganda, but also its Amity Park lording it over the other major cities for being one of the only major cities that doesn't have problems bad enough to warrant a superhero or a vigilante. Cue stage left the Fentons and Phantom :)
Amity Parkers were probably SO proud that they didn't need a superhero. They didn't have to worry about things like 'world ending threats' and 'super-powered individuals' and 'staggering property damage'. And then enter Fentons.
It also could be used as an excuse for why nobody took notice to Amity Park getting ghosts if folks like me aren't huge fans of the notion of a media blackout via Tucker, Technus, or the US Government. Or if you want to keep Amity Park as its urban city self. Amity Park's news on ghosts gets drowned out in a week because there's news on more popular, well-known cities going on every other day. The shit going on in Amity Park is every other major city's regular Tuesday and it gets filtered as such.

i love it when bad is very specifically a good roleplayer by giving other people good prompts. like casually bringing up wilbur now to tallulah. or when he put missa in the petting zoo. or all those times he Tormented the Lesbians so they could protect each other from him. its just so !!!! I love watching roleplayers be considerate of other roleplayers and gleefully hand over something they Know the other person's character can react to. i've seen cellbit do it, too (that time he handed his knife to bbh. oh my god). it's not a rare thing, and it's possible to be a good roleplayer without keeping that sort of considerate back and forth in mind, but its one of my favourite things to notice. foolish does it too, sometimes- i haven't watched him much, but i did take note of when he Made Sure to bring jaiden along with him on a cucurucho quest. and basically every interaction he had with bad when the eggs were missing. its just so so good

You know it’s actually really nice being trans and true to myself as a person
Like, progress feels slow but every month I look back and think “Wow, that’s something unique I learned about myself!” And I am a much happier person because of that!
There is a girl under all of these repressed feelings that me and my friends are uncovering.
And she is just, Wonderful
