me in my Czech musicals phase to switch off, and I just realized there’s this song from the musical Dracula, which I sense could work very well for the Grizione? I just don’t know from whose point of view? Let me explain with an English translation of the song
What a rare, precious gift I have been given The gift of your favor You are my master What can I give to you ? All I have is anguish You may judge me You are my master
because obviously Antoine should be the one looking up at Diego, going “you are my master” and “the gift of your favor” but what if...what if their dynamic is actually the other way? what if this is the moment where Diego kneels in front of Antoine etc. etc.
Only your closeness I beg you to grant me They said there was no paradise But I have been there In your arms Is where that bliss is glaring, There you are the ruler You are my master
then again, the “there you are the ruler” would mean that normally, the “master” isn’t the ruler, but when they hold the interpret of the song, they are. which works for grizione well, eh? also, the “only your closeness I beg you to grant me” would be very nice, considering Diego doesn’t ask more from his sweet French prince
I pine for you every single time you go Where did you go again ? Where and what for ? Forgive my terrible imagination, it makes me short of breath. Every time you return to me wakening I feel safe again, doubts and anguish release me your eyes convince me.
Ah, the painful image of Antoine leaving, right? Diego doesn’t neccessarily need to feel “safe again”, but the doubts and anguish definitely release him once Antoine is back. And boy oh boy, do Antoine’s eyes convince him.
You have given rules to my days as they go What do I mean for you I wish I knew Not chained by me Loved by me Thy will be done! You are my master
I think this is the most Diego/Antoine part.

"They're perfect Ro...did you hurt yourself with the thorns though?" You looked at his hands, holding one to inspect them, pale and soft with no cuts at all. "Don't worry, I used gloves." He smiled at your concern for him. This very much was his favorite trait of your personality, having someone to ask him about his wellbeing meant just as much as being told you loved him.
Did you ever think he'd be this endearing? The way the bow wrapped around the bouquet, the white layered paper wasn't the only thing nicely done with much of his patience but the forget-me-nots with white roses were a symbol of his undying loyalty, love, and care for you.
The thorns from the white roses were cut off so you wouldn't hurt yourself holding the bouquet. They smelled fresh and lovely, you couldnt think of anywhere else this could've came from other than his garden he proudly took care of that reflected the dedication and effort he put into.
"Im going to frame these once I get the time to today, that way I'll have them forever." You smiled already having an idea to preserve them
He smiled back, moving behind to hold you. "I'm glad you loved them love." His face buried into your neck, the warmth of his breath touching the bit of skin you exposed.
Your hands reached back to mess with his hair slowly letting it trace down his cheek, holding it still as he breathed out deeply.
After a sweet moment, he helped gather items to preserve the flowers. It was honestly exciting to him having his flowers being framed into a beautiful piece of work.
One by one, they were cut just a little bit to make it look like a garden of white roses and forget-me-nots.
Once it was done and framed with the help of Rollo, he suddenly hugged you tightly.
The sudden embrace didn't surprise you as it was a silent comfort for him in any emotional situation. You held him rubbing his back a little.
"I love you so much, I don't want you to doubt my love and devotion...I always worry I'm not expressing it enough." He confessed holding your wrist, kissing down your arm to your shoulders and lips.
You held his hand, returning the kiss as your heart beat slowed down enjoying the feeling of his lips against yours. Soft and gentle, who'd ever kiss your lips and soul at the same time like him.
Soon both of you pulled away dazed and looking at one another before speaking up, "I don't ever doubt you for a second Rollo. I have no reason to."
Rollo looked at the framed piece of art made by his girlfriend with flowers still worrying from the inside that his words and actions weren't enough before his cheeks were held to hold his gaze towards you
"Rollo, I know..." you said trying to assure him as he held on tighter. He breathed out deeply, holding your wrists before speaking...
"I could hardly call my heart my own...its so full of you."

there are so much interesting thematical similarities between characters of one family/clan in mdzs.
Like the Nies (the only two characters we know of) are ruthless and they all are bound by the undying desire of revenge. Nie Mingjue waited for God knows how long to take down When Rouhan and later even overcame death to get to Jin Guangyao. Nie Huaisang waited for a whole decade to find his brother's corpse and made a very complicated plot to avenge him. They both weren't afraid to get their hands dirty to get what they want. NMJ killed countless of Wen soldiers, and NHS is responsible for MXY's death, all the deaths in Mo Village, probably for Qin Su's death (tho indirectly). And that's just what I can remember. Anyway, they're shared theme is rage (be it quiet or explosive) and revenge.
The Lans, I think, have this shared passion and undying loyalty. LWJ is pretty obvious. Despite how much everyone hated WWX, despite his clan and family being against him, LWJ never stopped believing in WWX. He even went against his teacher/parental figure/uncle to protect his love. That's the dedication right there. And even when WWX got resurrected (thx NHS) LWJ was prepared to die in the Burial ground (if I didn't mess up the location) with WWX. And he isn't the only one in his family/clan.
Like father like son, Lan papa went against all that he knew to protect the woman he loved so much. Even if it meant he had to spend all his life in seclusion, probably never seeing his sons and the outside world, he was prepared to sacrifice everything for Madame Lan.
LCX was also ready to put his everything on the line for JGY. He was constantly supporting JGY, protecting him from harm (mostly from NMJ), and still giving him a benefit of the doubt after all the crazy stuff was revealed. LXC actually makes me terribly sad, because he was PREPARED TO DIE WITH JGY. HE WAS PREPARED TO USE QI DEVIATING MUSIC ON HIMSELF TO PROVE JGY'S INNOCENCE/FIND OUT TRUTH. WHY MUST HE BE USED SO MUCH BY THE PEOPLE HE CARES THE MOST? (Sorry, I'm still heartbroken) Anyways, he isn't an exception to the rule. But he certainly is the most heartbreaking one for sure.
Even Su She, who was only a student in the clan and isn't connected to the family, he was very loyal to JGY, putting his own life on the line multiple times and getting his hands dirty with no questions asked. Su She wasn't the most brave one when he was young, but his devotion literally made him go against the most powerful fierce corpse. No matter how much he wanted to distance himself from Lan clan, he can't escape the loyalty curse of Gusu™.
The trickiest one is Lan Qiren, cuz he doesn't really show very much affection towards anyone/anything. But I feel like his devotion lies with his family or the rules. Despite being super strict, he tries to get LWJ return to Cloud Recesses to protect him from other clans. (The funniest part is that "lets go back to Gusu" never works). Also LQR's and LXC's little interaction in the conference about Wens in donghua made me smile sm, it was so sweet. The funniest part is that he's always whiny, but will cave in for his loved ones. I literally have no proof of him being loyal to his family, but MXTX's own words in an artbook I believe??
I am not really sure about Yunmeng Jiang or Lanling Jin clans, cuz they don't really have so obvious similarities. Lanling Jin's similarity is being connected to JGS, which is not so unique in mdzs. And Yunmeng Jiang is probably having family issues.

I am normal and can be trusted with the concept of Ryuji’s undying and unwavering loyalty to Akira. He who would fall on the blade without question for his beloved, the very definition of ride or die, who despite Akira’s total ability to take care of himself would beg to do his dirty work for him. Ryuji who is the guard dog that wouldn’t think twice about putting himself between Akira and any threat- or any minor inconvenience for that matter- because that’s where he’s meant to be. His place in the world is next to Akira, and to be whatever Akira needs him to be, because he loves him and would die for him (even if Akira really insists that he doesn’t want him to do that) because there’s absolutely no question in his mind about who he’s meant to be with. He is dedicated and he is confident and he has never felt stronger than he does when he’s with Akira. His cause in life is to ensure his love is left wanting for nothing, and he is nothing if not devoted to his cause to the very end

Wanted to share this Golden trio fluff:
Who was Harry Potter anyways? The Chosen One? The Boy-who-lived? The Saviour and Golden Boy of the Wizarding World?
Did the press actually got it right when they wrote pieces about him? Could they know what kind of person he was by amounting together the major events on his life?
Could he?
Did Hermione and Ron knew who his best friend was? During those nights filled with dread when the dead became living and the living bled to death, did they know?
When they took his hand and slept right there besides him, whispering sweet nothings until he fell asleep again—could they describe who he was with the same certainty one would talk about the lush and green hills in Scotland?
Mione watched him with that look of hers; one of unwavering faith. Her eyes softening as she lulled him to sleep.
The moonlight filtered through the tiny gap between the curtains back in his room in Grimmauld Place, illuminating the seven freckles scattered in her nose and cheeks. A hundred years could pass and he’d still be able to trace those freckles to memory, like one traces the starts and constellations in the nightsky. She’d stay there for hours, stroking his hair and drawing silly patterns in his skin. Like a mother would. Soft fingertips and soothing lullabies.
With the tenderness of a mother, the devotion of a lover and the undying loyalty of a friend.
In those moments he could be sure of one thing: Hermione Granger knew exactly who Harry Potter was: His best friend, the person looking back at her with grief and open adoration.
And Ron. Ron held him while Mione grounded him and brought him back to Earth. Soft breath tickling his neck. He was too tall for the bed, so most times his feet stayed dangling from the edge.
Ron was home, Ron was family.
Ron was the first person to ever say I love you, chubby cheeks bouncing as he smiled. Honest in his love like only kids are.
There wasn’t much of that Ron in the 6’2 ft tall man that layed besides him. Except maybe his eyes. They were blue, blueblueblue, round and big and completely sincere. Every emotion Ron felt reflecting back on them.
Violent but oh so soft. Harry had never seen the ocean, but he reckoned that’s how it looked like.
His presence was enough to make the world stop spinning, so he stayed with them: A hand in his arm or a leg tangled between Mione’s.
Always touching.
His silence saying more than a million words could.
I’m not going anywhere Harry. Not today, not tomorrow. Not ever again.
But so they knew? Did they even care?
You’re every Harry love, the ones you like and the ones you don’t
Harry Potter was the guy that passed the Auror official test in record time. The one that spent a year hiding the clues of his slow descent into insanity under red leather robes and tightly wrapped bandages.
Harry Potter was the man who stayed alone in New Year’s Eve changing napies and falling asleep besides his godson as he burnt in fever.
It was the five year old boy that one day came home from school with a carefully written card he’d dedicated to his aunt on Mother’s Day.
It was the boy who loved to fly. That felt more free in the air than any place on Earth. The one that enjoyed the breeze against his hair and the feeling of wood under his fingers.
It was the man that spent half a year in muggle parties with his best friend’s sister fucking his way through London. High with the thrill of anonymity and pissed out of his mind.
The man more scared of his own shadows than he was of any threat out there.
The one that stood in front of Voldemort when he was 17 and killed him like he was born to do so.
Harry Potter was the man scared of dark and cramped spaces. The man that fell apart in his best friends’ arms and sobbed for hours like he couldn’t do with anyone else.
It was the little boy who looked just like his father, that had his mother’s eyes.
It was the man who loved with every fiber of his being, that loved and loved like it was a race. That burned and consumed and desperately wanted to be loved back. It was the man that remembered Molly’s favorite way of taking her tea, that visited Goerge on the weekends at the shop—the one that discussed muggle phones with Arthur. It was the man Andy could always remember his daughter with.
Harry Potter was the boy that walked to his death on a cool May evening because he loved. Because he pictured a future where his friends could laugh and breath freely again, even if he wasn’t a part of it.
And so Hermione stroked his hair, and Ron hid his face in the crook of his neck, and so they’d remind him.
I love all of them Harry, each and one of them
You’ve carried enough burdens mate, leave some of them to us alright? We’ll carry them too
Harry Potter was Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley’s best friend. And sometimes, that was enough.

What would be your reason to date the Ros and what would be the reason to not date them? (u know cause some are walking 🚩)
Ooooo this is kind of tough, because I think they all are similar in their strengths and weaknesses. I answered what their worst traits are in this ask, but this one is slightly different and gives me an excuse to roast and gas up my own characters so here we go!
Merikh:
Pros: He's driven, dedicated, and has a very large heart. He's as supportive as he is protective. He has a dry wit and usually has a pretty good since of humor that can cheer most people up.
Cons: He can be very self absorbed and has a habit of believing that his problems are the biggest. His anger can be alienating and at his worst he's petty and spiteful.
Summary: If you want a go-getter that will protect and support you, then Merikh is your guy. As long as you can help him get over himself and set boundaries for where he directs his anger and frustration. (Like boo, everyone has a traumatic past. You're not special Merikh.
Desma:
Pros: She's very fun and full of life, not to mention brimming with undying loyalty. She has a way of making everyday and adventure and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Her honesty is blunt and she always makes her feelings known. (Kind of)
Cons: Her high energy and recklessness can be exhausting, her jealousy smothering, and her fascination with diversion and frivolity is also her way of avoiding hard conversations and seriousness. Arguments with her can be reminiscent of tantrums.
Summary: If you want a woman that makes you feel wanted and desired, as well as someone who can bring wild jubilation to any situation, Desma is the one for you. Just make sure that you can either match her energy or introduce a bit of calm and structure to her, especially when things get heavy.
Laverna:
Pros: She has a way of making people feel seen and she doesn't restrict her love to the best version of you. Her love is tender and deep and she will try to solve any problem the two of you face. She is patient and has a surprisingly blunt sense of humor that makes being around her feel refreshing.
Cons: She is reluctant to show her full self and can be deceptive. She can sometimes be convinced that she knows best and holds on to slights and conflicts for far longer than is healthy.
Summary: If you want a woman that can love you at your worst, wait through any storm with you, and there to help you through life's difficulties, then Laverna is for you! Just make sure you let her know that she doesn't have to lie to you and also try to help her understand that it's okay to let some things go.
Sutek:
Pros: He listens and is a bit too honest and too empathetic for the line of work he's in. He is unselfish and observant, and he has a quiet, yet fierce devotion to the ones that he loves. You can depend on him to keep his word and to do his best to keep you safe.
Cons: He sometimes ignores empathy in favor of pragmatism and that means he struggles with his sense of self as well as his own morals. Some of the things he has done have skewed his sense of self worth and he can become distant, both emotionally and locationally.
Summary: If you want a man that's honest and actually cares about your feelings and desires, then Sutek is the man for you. As long as you can locate him physically and keep him from either withdrawing into himself or into the environment when his mind or the relationship gets tumultuous.
Sarai:
Pros: She is clearheaded and very deliberate in everything she does, including matters of the heart. She knows how to highlight the best in those around her. She is at a place now where she can give guidance and is always there to listen to both a situation and the feelings involved in a way that is both loving and analytical. She has a warm spirit and it bleeds into everything she does.
Cons: She puts up a cold exterior and she is skeptical of attachments. She is slow to open up and quick to shut down. She may be insightful, but can be willfully blind to how her actions can sabotage a relationship and she treats negative outcomes as confirmation of her worst assumptions.
Summary: If you want someone that is loving, wise, and meticulous in her care for those she loves, then Sarai is for you. Just make sure that you have the patience to withstand being pushed away and can reassure her that not everyone wants to hurt those they claim to love.
Nari:
Pros: She has an earnestness about her that is endearing and she leads and inspires by example. Though shy, there is nothing held back in her love and commitment to those she loves. She sees the best in a person and offers support even when she can offer nothing else.
Cons: Her self esteem is very low, meaning that she second guesses whether or not the love in front of her is real of if she truly deserves it. She also tends to put people on pedestals, so focused on seeing the best that she ignores everything else.
Summary: If you want a love that is sweet and unwavering from someone who would never want to do anything to make you feel unvalued, then Nari is a great pick. Just be there to reassure her and try not to break her heart and trust.
Aretas:
Pros: He is full of optimism and ambition in a way that is both endearing and inspiring. He genuinely cares about people and is generous and eager to please. When he looks at you, he makes you feel like it's just the two of you and no matter where he is, he is still himself. (Just sometimes more subdued)
Cons: He puts duty before almost everything and as a great man he casts a long shadow. He can neglect his own health trying to perfect and juggle everything, and can get defensive when called out for it. It can be easy to feel less like a lover and more like an accessory or a prized object.
Summary: If you want to experience a cocktail of grand love and devotion coupled with power and influence, then Aretas is a good pick. Just make sure that you have a good sense of self and aren't afraid to communicate your feelings and your input in the relationship. Also remind him that he doesn't have to be perfect.
Heka:
Pros: He is very tranquil and openhearted and accepting of most people and situations. He views the world with wonder and curiosity meaning that spending time with him can make things feel brand new. Love is new to him but he will make it clear that he cherishes you.He has a great deal of control over his emotions, can understand other people's pretty well, and will make an effort to when it doesn't come easily.
Cons: He's almost too passive. He can lack initiative or focus and sometimes his presence can be weak. Sometimes it can take effort to get him engaged in the world around him or for him to take a strong stance on anything. For the one he loves, he may seem that he is half hearted or not all the way present in the relationship, although that is not the case.
Summary: If you want a serene love that let's you set the terms for the most part and that delves deeply into sensitivity to each other and the world around you, the Heka is a good pick. Just be try to encourage him to give more room to his emotions, even the negative ones and support him finding his own voice.

How do you feel about Soos as a character?
Short answer he's one of my faves
Soos is the kind of guy you can't help but love. With his easygoing attitude, a heart of gold, and an unmatched love for fixing things (both mechanical and personal), he's the glue that keeps the Mystery Shack and by extension, the Pines family together. But what is it about Grunkle Stan and the rest of the Pine tree-clad crew that has Soos pledging his undying allegiance?
First off, Soos sees in Grunkle Stan a father figure, someone who took him under his wing when he was just a lovable, handy kid. Grunkle Stan, with his shady business practices and gruff exterior, might not seem like the mentor of the year, but to Soos, he's the bee's knees. Stan's trust in Soos to keep the Shack running, and his occasional, though rarely shown, softer side, has helped to foster a sense of family that Soos holds dear. It's not just about employment; it's about belonging.
It's this feeling of belonging that feeds Soos' devotion, transforming it into actions that speak volumes. Whether it's throwing himself headfirst into the latest supernatural shenanigans to defend the Pines or simply being the dependable guy who will drop everything to help Dipper and Mabel with their outlandish schemes, Soos is there. His loyalty is not born out of obligation, but out of genuine love and respect for the Pines.
And let's not forget the Mystery Shack itself, a place Soos reveres almost as much as the family that runs it. To him, it's more than a tourist trap; it's a home that's as weird and wonderful as he is. His dedication to the Shack is a testament to his character, showing that he values the things that make life a little more magical.
But this loyalty doesn't mean Soos is blind to Grunkle Stan's faults. Part of what makes Soos' devotion so endearing is his ability to see past the gruff exterior to the person underneath. He understands that people, like the curiosities of Gravity Falls, are complex and multifaceted. Soos chooses to stand by the Pines family not because they're perfect but because they're his imperfect little slice of home.
In every moment of crisis, every adventure gone awry, Soos proves that loyalty isn't just about standing by someone when the going's good it's about sticking around when the going gets weird, er, tough. And in a place like Gravity Falls, that's pretty much all the time.
Soos' devotion is the kind that makes you believe in the power of found families. He's the reminder that sometimes the best kind of loyalty is the one that comes with a smile, a "Dude," and an unwavering readiness to dive into the unknown, as long as it's for the people you care about. Soos might not be related to the Pines by blood, but he's as much a part of that family tree as any branch, twig, or pine needle. And that's something truly special.

Kaeya x Reader Angst
No specific pronouns mentioned
Word count: 1,521
Warnings: Spoilers for Kaeya's backstory and friendship level cheracter story, Character death, A lot of mentions of blood, Angst with an ending that I guess could be counted as comfort but also could not I dunno??, I give my OPINION on what I think could go down with Khaenri'ah but it's also just me bullshitting to set the scene for the pain so don't come after me about it being inacurate, I also know this isn't really how Celestia works but shhhh yes it is.
Written mostly for @ashelexa who wanted me to write them angst. Enjoy the pain, bestie. This made me cry and I don't even simp for him.
I also wrote it at 3 am in a splurge of creative energy so there may be some grammar mistakes and whatnot.
Tumblr media
Kaeya had always known this would be his fate. Since the very moment he set foot in the Knights of Favonius as a member of their ranks, the question had echoed endlessly through the broken abyss that was his mind. If war should ever break out as his people had always intended, what side would he take? On one hand, there was his blood family. The father who he had been born to, but who had abandoned him at the first opportunity. On the other, there were the people of Mondstadt. People who, despite knowing nothing about him, had welcomed him with open arms. The people who had given him a family held together not by the bonds of blood, but by trust, loyalty, and undying devotion to one another.
Now, in the face of the war that for so long he had been expecting yet dreading, his question had been answered. He belonged to neither side, his divided loyalties tearing him apart from the inside out. His own people, the ones who had sent him there in the first place, had turned him away. After all, what good was a soldier who was unable to truly dedicate themselves to their cause. What good was a soldier who could turn on them at any moment under the disgusting influence of love and friendship from the very people they called their enemies?
The people of Mondstadt, on the other hand, had been blinded completely by the searing pain of betrayal. They didn’t want to believe it, none of them did. Their Captain. Their hero. Someone they had placed their lives in the hands of willingly for years, had been there only as a spy. As someone present solely for the purpose of bringing them down when they were at their weakest. He had pleaded for their forgiveness, begged with everything he had. After all they had been through together, he could never hurt them. But after the years of lying, there was no way they could be sure that these were not simply more heartless lies. They, too, had turned him away, telling him that if he truly wanted to prove himself, he would have to do so in battle.
Now, stuck in the middle of an endless war with his own mind, he turned to the one person he had left. The one person who he had hurt the worst by far, yet who stuck by his side nonetheless. You.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” you begged, voice broken and raw from the sobs that ripped through your throat. “We could have worked something out. You should have told me. I could have protected you. I-”
Your words were cut short as he reached up to cup your cheek gently in his hand. His strength was leaving him, you could feel it. Even with the horrific battle raging in a seemingly endless tide around you, the only thing you could focus on was him. The love of your life, who now lay bleeding out in your arms. Win back their trust in battle, he had been told. And that was exactly what he had done. Fight for them. Win for them. Die for them.
“You can’t blame yourself,” he pleaded, looking up at you through pain clouded eyes. Even through the pained look, you could still see the love and adoration in his gaze. “There was nothing you could have done,” he assured you. “I would rather die a million deaths here than have put you in harm's way with the weight of such a heavy secret.”
“No, no.” You shushed him quickly, gently rubbing a thumb over his scarred eye and down his cheek, wiping away the tears that he had tried and failed to hold back for your own sake. “You won’t die here. I won’t let you. You’ll make it through this, and everyone will welcome you back, I’ll make sure of it,” you promised him. He could feel his heart ache at the blatant pain in your voice. He could see in your eyes that you knew as well as he did that your words held no truth. Even so, you refused to give in to the harsh reality.
“You have to let me go,” he whispered, reaching his other arm up weakly to hold your face in his shaking hands, his thumbs swiping away the heavy tears that rolled freely down your cheeks. “You have to promise me that you’ll live for me. If you were to die here too, my sacrifice would be in vain.” Another sob tore through your throat at his words and you clutched him closer to your chest, burying your face in his matted hair as the truth of his situation finally settled upon you. He had lost too much blood now. Even if you could reach Barbara and the rest of Mondstadt’s medical team on time, there was no guarantee they would take him in.
“I’ll remember you,” you swore to him, pressing your lips against the top of his head. The strong metallic scent of blood overwhelmed your senses, but you could care less. All that mattered to you now was these last moments you had with your lover. “And someday, when my time reaches me, we will meet again in Celestia.”
“Celestia,” he snorted at your words, the sudden intake of air sending him into a fit of coughs that ripped violently through his body. When the coughing had ceased, blood dribbled from the corners of his mouth. He smiled weakly, forcing a sarcastic laugh as he wiped it away. “Celestia would never have me. I’m a lying traitor. You truly think the god’s would want someone like that amongst their numbers?” he chuckled dryly. You pulled away from him so that you could look him in the eyes, your gaze filled with stubborn determination.
“No,” you objected quickly. “You’re so much more than you think. Kaeya, you’re a hero. You’re my hero.” Your voice cracked at those words and you took a moment to gather yourself before continuing. “No traitor could ever have done what you did here today. While your mind may have been conflicted, your heart was with the people of Mondstadt. It always has been. You put your life on the line to protect those people, and they’ll remember you as a hero throughout all of time. I promise you that.” Tears filled the corners of Kaeya’s eyes once again as he stared up at you, vision growing increasingly blurred.
“Archons, what did I ever do to deserve you?” he laughed weakly, tangling his hands into your hair to pull you against his chest with whatever strength he had left. You laughed at his words, shaking your head against him.
“You didn’t have to do anything. You already deserve the world,” you responded, pulling away only to lean in again and press your forehead to his. His gaze softened, his signature smirk crossing his face even through the ever growing pain he was experiencing.
“Funny,” he hummed lightly. “Because you are my world.” You laughed weakly again between the sobs that once again bubbled in your throat at the slowly dying light in his eyes.
“I love you,” you sobbed as he once again reached to cradle your face. “So, so much.” You closed your eyes, tears dropping from them and splattering onto his quickly paling cheeks.
“I love you too, (Y/n). More than anything in this world. And I always will.” He forced one final smile with the very last of his strength. “I will see you again in Celestia then, my darling, my hero, my (Y/n). Let that be my promise to you.” with those final words, his body fell limp, hands leaving your cheeks as his arms fell to rest loosely at his sides. A scream tore through you as you clutched his limp body desperately against your chest, begging to the heavens for the gods to give him back. Your words fell on deaf ears, your sobs drowned out by the raging battle around you.
Even after the battle had ended with the people of Mondstadt at last driving Khaenri’ah’s forces out of their land, You could not bring yourself to rejoice or celebrate along with the others, instead setting to work on fulfilling your final promise to him. You ensured that Kaeya’s name was remembered as that of a hero to the people of Mondstadt, passed through generations as a story of true strength and loyalty. You filled the hole in your heart by spreading his tale, dedicating your days to ensuring he would forever be remembered in a good light by the people he had given his life to protect.
Even as you neared the end of your own days, you worked tirelessly. And as your time finally came, his final promise to you came true just as yours had for him. You felt no fear or pain as you at last met your own end, only the warmth of a promise fulfilled. The promise that you would indeed meet again in the halls of Celestia.

Erin and 4, 18, 24 and 25 for the character ask!
Yeahhhh best girl lesssgo!
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
A bit of self-promotion for my Digirejuv AU, but since that's my current brainrot outside of Pokemon fangames I'm gonna say Digimon lol. If only because I think Erin as a Tamer would make for a great character study material, observing her own evolution from an asocial hermit with a shit load of emotional baggage to someone who's learnt to trust and open herself up to others.
18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?
Her friendship with Aelita is one. I love how it highlights Erin's protectiveness, devotion and undying loyalty to someone she considers a friend, as slow as she is to warm up to other people. Despite her own frustrations at Aelita, when Aelita turned into a Rift she's still willing to risk herself to save her and bring her back to her senses. If that's not dedication and loyalty, I don't know what is.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
I can't really think of one at the top of my mind, but the closest I can think of is Y'shtola from FF14? They're both intelligent, witty, blunt almost to a fault and sarcastic as all hell, while also having an aloof exterior that takes quite a while to thaw out. That, and they both have a temper.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
The first time I saw Erin was in a TV Tropes page, so I only have a design to base my impression on, but the moment I saw her I was like "Omg she is so pretty what the hell". My impression of her just got better when I first encountered her for real in-game and onward (that was back in v13), like I seriously loved her witty dialogue, her not being afraid to state her mind no matter how controversial it is, and how she would not hesitate to step in and protect the people she loves. Even now she's still my top favourite rejuv character, no contest.

Movie Review: "Hachiko: A Dog's Tale"
Tumblr media
Blog Post #5
"Hachiko" is a touching and moving movie that beautifully encapsulates loyalty, love, and the unbreakable tie that exists between people and animals. This Japanese-American movie, which was directed by Lasse Hallström, is based on a true event, and it portrays the amazing narrative of Hachiko, an obedient Akita dog, and his enduring loyalty to his owner.
The story is set in early 20th-century Tokyo and centers on Richard Gere's outstanding performance as Professor Parker Wilson. Wilson finds a lost Akita puppy at the railway station one fateful day, adopts him, and names him Hachiko. What begins as a random meeting quickly develops into a deep friendship that endures through time and even death.
The story of "Hachiko" skillfully weaves together the lives of the dog and his owner, creating an image of love and devotion that is both beautiful and devastating. As the years go by, Hachiko establishes a daily ritual of waiting for his master at the railway station, obediently anticipating his return. The movie expertly conveys the loyalty and devotion of this exceptional dog, as Hachiko's daily vigil becomes a symbol of undying love and dedication.
The acting in "Hachiko" is genuinely exceptional, with Richard Gere giving a powerfully moving performance as a guy whose life is changed by the love of his devoted pet. Your heartstrings will be pulled by the genuine and heartwarming moments created by Gere and the dog actor who plays Hachiko.
Lasse Hallström's delicate and honest directing of the movie allows the plot to develop gradually and elicit sincere feelings. The film's photography beautifully depicts both the busy streets of Tokyo and the private moments that Hachiko and his owner share. The story's emotional beats aren't rushed thanks to the well-balanced pacing, which enables the viewer to fully immerse themselves in the narrative.
"Hachiko" is a story of love and loyalty, but it also touches on issues of loss, sadness, and the enduring power of memories. It serves as a reminder of the deep influence animals may have on our lives as well as the important lessons that they can impart on us about love and loyalty.
Overall, "Hachiko" is an amazing and stirring movie that honors the extraordinary relationship between people and their canine companions. The impact that even the tiniest deeds of kindness may have on our lives is poignantly brought to mind, as is the strength of unwavering love. As "Hachiko" will definitely leave you teary-eyed and deeply touched by its tale of loyalty and love, get ready to be moved, inspired, and reach for a box of Kleenex.

Review: The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman
Tumblr media
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman is about a cross-cultural tragedy and the unfortunate circumstances that led to it. I originally read it for a school project, so this review draws from the essay I wrote for that as well as my personal thoughts that weren’t expressed in the essay. Published in 1997, this book tells the story of the Lees, a Hmong immigrant family; their daughter, Lia, who was diagnosed with severe epilepsy as an infant; and the cultural clashes between Lia’s family and doctors that led to her brain death at the age of four. Without placing blame, Fadiman argues that this tragedy was not the result of prejudiced doctors or negligent parents but of cross-cultural collisions, misunderstandings and refusals to connect with and understand the other, and proposes ways to implement cross-cultural medicine to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. This elegantly-written, thoroughly-researched work about the importance of cultural understanding sheds light on the experiences and history of a marginalized group of people and is an essential reading in our increasingly interconnected world.
Anne Fadiman is an American essayist and journalist who specializes in essay writing and literary journalism, which is nonfiction writing that uses narrative structure and techniques. Fadiman graduated from Harvard University in 1975 and has written and edited for many publications since then and published several books and essay collections. She won the National Book Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Current Interest for The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. Fadiman now serves as the Francis Writer in Residence at Yale University, where she teaches nonfiction writing and mentors students in writing and editing.
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down intertwines two main storylines: a general history of the Hmong people and the Lees’ experiences. Alternating chapters dedicated to each of these main ideas frames the Lees’ story within a broader historical and cultural context. Fadiman draws from mostly primary sources from European missionaries and officials to examine Hmong history, largely because the Hmong do not have a written language. She explains how the Hmongs’ history has affected their culture; for example, how their history of persecution and oppression, which forced them to flee from China and then Laos, has instilled in the Hmong a group identity that has protected them from forced assimilation and given them an incredibly strong sense of loyalty, honor, community, and familial bonds. All of the cultural and historical phenomena that Fadiman discusses play into what happened to the Lees. The Hmong emphasis on community and family explains the undying and unconditional love Foua and Nao Kao Lee, Lia’s parents, showed their daughter. The essential role spirituality and folklore plays in Hmong culture, as well as the American government’s utter failure of the Hmong, led to the deep distrust Foua and Nao Kao exhibited towards Lia’s doctors and their refusal (or inability) to follow the doctors’ orders. All of the evidence that Fadiman presents ties together comprehensively, connecting her main ideas about cultural collisions and the failure of the American government and society.
Fadiman also extensively explores the nuances of the Hmong culture, which I appreciated. She describes the Hmong as an intensely spiritual and devoted people and explains in detail their many superstitions, rituals, and beliefs while emphasizing their humanity and gently reminding readers not to judge traditions that may seem bizarre to them. She brings out the richness and interconnectedness of Hmong culture—how much importance the soul holds to the Hmong, how illnesses are often seen as the loss of one’s soul (epilepsy roughly translates to “the spirit catches you and you fall down,” the namesake of this book), and how one cannot talk about one aspect of Hmong culture without bringing up spirituality. I loved learning about all of the folk tales, traditions, and customs of the Hmong. The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down is as much a historical narrative as it is a testament to Hmong culture.
This is the context in which Fadiman tells the story of the Lee family, who lives in Merced, California. Through emotionally-charged interviews and heart-wrenching personal testimonies with doctors, social workers, foster parents, txiv neebs (Hmong shamans), and of course Lia’s parents, Fadiman pieces together Lia’s tragic story. Due to inadequate interpreters and a lack of cross-cultural understanding, Lia’s family and her doctors were almost always at odds about treating her epilepsy. Severe language and cultural barriers frustrated both sides. The doctors saw her family as negligent and unintelligent, and disregarded the Hmong culture. They blamed Lia’s parents for not following Lia’s convoluted medicine regimen, yet never attempted to support or connect with the family. (Foua and Nao Kao were to sign many consent forms for Lia that they could not read.) Lia’s family saw the doctors as evil Westerners seeking to harm their daughter, a fear fuelled by the doctors’ antagonistic attitude towards Hmong traditional healing arts. Despite this, Foua and Nao Kao only wanted the best for Lia, continuing to be devoted and loving parents to her even after her brain death. According to Fadiman, Lia’s parents showed stronger love and devotion to their child than many modern American families. In a 1997 interview, Fadiman said, “I learned how to be a good mother from watching Hmong with their children. They are the warmest parents in the world. I saw those loving, happy, tumbling extended families and said to myself, ‘This is a better way to be.’”
As Lia’s seizures worsened and her parents still refused to give her the medicine, her doctors ordered that Lia be moved into foster care. The endless hospital visits, the interpreted conversations, and the process of taking a child away from her parents caused great emotional turmoil for everyone involved. The worst seizure of Lia’s life, accompanied by septic shock and aggressive treatment and medication, led to her brain death at the age of four and a half.
Fadiman’s heavy use of primary sources—meticulous interviews with the people around Lia, especially her parents and primary doctors, and the author’s own interactions with these people—allow her to provide deep insight into both sides of the conflict. No one is ever implied to be “good” or “bad”; this book makes it clear that everyone around Lia wanted the best for her and genuinely thought they were doing the right thing. All of the parties involved expressed extreme grief at her brain death: the doctors saw it as their own failure to make sure Lia received care while Lia’s family took it as proof that American doctors are not to be trusted. Had Lia’s doctors been more willing to connect with her parents, they would probably have discovered Lia’s septic early on and would not have had to resort to the influx of medication that ultimately caused her brain death. Lia’s life was ruined by both sides’ inability to even try to understand the beliefs of the other.
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down displays an open-mindedness that none of the people featured in the book had, which is what makes this book so powerful. Fadiman’s careful consideration of all sides, as well as her acknowledgement of her own role in this story, allows her to explore the broader cultural implications of Lia’s story. Besides analyzing the problem, Fadiman provides possible solutions, discusses both Western and Hmong medical practices, and explores ways for doctors to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. She shares stories from Hmong immigrants and American doctors and presents ways for doctors to respectfully and effectively practice cross-cultural medicine, the implementation of which is crucial to improving Western medicine. Fadiman argues that without efforts to make these cross-cultural, patient-family-doctor connections, preventable and unnecessary tragedies like what happened to Lia will continue to happen.
This book’s power lies in its dedication to humanity and understanding and its deep insights into culture and identity. It is unique in its respectful, admiring, and fair representation of the Hmong and the American cultures. It raises extremely thought-provoking and difficult questions, such as: Which is more important, the life or the soul? When medicine and culture clash, and doctors and families are at odds, who’s to say who is right? What if Lia’s adults had done this differently—how would things have turned out? This is a tragic story of a failure in American medicine and society, a testament to the Hmong people and their history, and a cautionary tale. It’s also, above all, a story of hope. The last lines of the book, a chant performed at a ceremony to guide Lia’s lost soul home, are symbolic. Lia’s family never lost hope or stopped loving their daughter, even when it was unimaginably difficult for them. I recommend this book to everyone because its arguments and ideas are essential to modern medicine, politics, and society.
The ending of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down evokes a curious mix of anger, grief, hollowness, and melancholy. Over the course of the book, you will laugh, feel angry, want to lash out, mourn, and finally feel hollow. My heart ached for everyone involved—for Lia’s family, whose grief and pain is unimaginable; for Lia’s doctors, who must live with the guilt of failing even when they thought they gave it their all; and above all, for Lia Lee, who might have, in another world, lived on in health and happiness.

Some Yandere!Terry Silver headcanons, please?🐍🖤
giffie provided by the beautiful @atmostories
Tumblr media
- When Terry hates, he hates all the way. No middle grounds. Without limits, reservations or boundaries. Same goes for when he loves someone, as rare as that may be. He relinquishes all sense, all reason and absolutely embraces bias and favouritism without even hiding that he does. As I keep reiterating, his person is simply the best, the greatest, the loveliest, the most correct person that ever was, purely by virtue of them being his person. There might be a great trace of narcissism to such a stance too seeing as how Terry can't comprehend a world where anyone associated with him isn't purely the most admirable individual because why on earth would he of all people associated with anything less in the first place? Sure, objectively, you might be the most commonly mundane person, but not to Terry. No. To Terry you're extraordinary and he'll demand everyone else to hold such an opinion under duress if need be, and he tends to turn real antagonistic and standoffish real quick if he finds someone isn't fawning over his person the way they ought to. But, if they fawn too much, well -- that doesn't please him either and might just inspire jealousy. No winning with him. He loves that he's so hard to appease.
- He is also one for control. He is a control freak to excess. So, a Yandere!Terry might hold a certain resentment if he falls in love. Because one can't control who and when they fall for someone. It is usually entirely spontaneous and unpredictable and Terry doesn't like surprises, especially not of the emotional kind because he might feel it leaves him exposed and vulnerable. Endows him with another weakness he didn't previously have - so, in light of that, for a while, he might be out to hurt you. Toy with you. Test your resolve. Prod and poke at you, like a voodoo doll - sadist that he is. He might even take you and tuck you away somewhere within some dark corner of his mansion and not let out out until he figures out just what to do next, strategically. Or he might observe you. Stalk you. Research you from afar. Collect some of your things, or steal them rather. Outright manipulate and induce mental anguish in a roundabout way - he doesn't quite enjoy the emotions you've inspired in him, due to his own issues of just needing to have ever miniscule thing in order, at all times, even the things connected to his own heart. Especially those things. So, once you do, for the longest time, you're Terry's enemy and you've officially declared war. The devil works hard, but Terry Silver works harder.
- He gives obsession by definition a whole new meaning, because in spite of his partial resentment and adoration towards you, he'll also want all of you. All. Literally all. The good. The bad. The very worst. The very best. Everything in between. There's honestly just no telling how far it goes when he starts adopting actual tid-bits of your behaviour or mannerism into his own because that's how he shows his love. His attachment. Through imitation. Through...adopting some miniscule trace of your habits or your appearance, or maybe he just starts tapping his fingers to excess on the surface of a table in anticipation once he catches wind of you doing, or perhaps, he starts incorporating your favourite color into his attire, purely because it's your most preferred one. Not unlike a black hole, Terry has the tendency to consume. Consume fear. Consume power. Consume markers of hedonism. Consume identities, if need be. Either due to grief. Remembrance. Possession. Merely because he can. Because he wants to. Your body's his. And your heart is his. Your soul is his. Everything you own is his. Your very personhood might as well be his as well. He sees no reason why he shouldn't usurp everything his darling has to offer and then some. What he does with his new stake of ownership is another thing entirely - whether he loves or destroys or both is of little importance, because he sees, he likes, he claims and then proceeds doing whatever he pleases. End of discussion.
- People from your past might mysteriously start, uh, falling off. Disappearing. Distancing themselves from you. Surely, Terry had no part in it, except, well, now that he's here, he sees no reason why you should need anyone else? Isn't it a given he's the best? And as such, more then a worthy replacement for any amount of individuals serving as your support system prior to him arriving? Surely, he's a far superior choice. He outmatches anyone and everyone. You don't need those other pesky nobodies. Those distractions. He slips sweet poison into your ears and convinces you he's all you ever needed and craved, but you simply didn't even know. But, oh, he's the face of kindness and he came along in the nick of time to help you. What an angel. He's all favours. Good, well-meaning advice. Strategic encouragement. Protection. Being eerily there whenever you need him. And he'll make sure you need him all the time. He wants you to be unable to function without him, crippling all your defenses. He says the exact perfect thing you want to hear, at the exact, perfect calculated time, like someone capable of reading minds. He gives affection and then removes it. Gives it and removes it. Hot and cold. Hot and cold. He keeps repeating the process, both overstimulating you emotionally, only to suddenly deny you enough times where you're a simpering, stuttering pathetic, dependable little mess for him. Putty in his hands. He'll play you like a fiddle. And you'll dance to his tune eagerly because he'll make sure you adore him and want to appease him so much he'll land himself with a sweet little slave. No, no - he's not an egoistic narcissist, he's just looking after his investment and making sure nobody infringes upon it. And how could anyone possibly, if there's nobody beside you but him?
- Although, that being said, nothing's for free, right? Not even him caring for darling you. Don't you know how very exclusive that is? How rare? How unusual. Terry hasn't been significantly close to much of anyone but John Kreese, and that's a camaraderie forged in blood and war, two decades in the making, so for you to be deemed so very special, above all others, the least you can do is repay Terry's emotional courtesy, after he's allowed you into his inner circle like this. After he's allowed as much as your fingers to graze his skin. Don't you know he doesn't fancy being touched by much of anyone else, almost? Don't you know he isn't kind to just about anyone, but his people? Don't you figure you owe him something after he's provided you with every luxury and comfort known to man? Practically pampering and fussing you to trips and trinkets and indulgences? How lucky you are. How privileged. One in a million. And of course, being something of a petulant, unpredictable Yandere himself, what he expects in payment is your undying desire, devotion and discipline. He wants you yearning for him, always. He wants your undying, absolute loyalty. And he wants you attuned, focused and his. He expects to domineer every aspect of your life just due to the fact that he showed you the vague mercy of allowing you in. He's nitpicky and a perfectionist, so, if he singled you out as something or someone he wants, he expects the fact he put in actual time, effort, conditioning and proper seduction into you to a fruitful venture. Don't you know that for a billionaire with his own world-wide conglomerate, time's the most expensive capital in the world? So, if he gives you some of his, he expects it given back by the tenfold.
- For all his many shenanigans, cat and mouse games, tricks, ploys, schemes, obsessive outburst, denial, once Terry loves you, he loves you, and not in five, ten, fifteen, fifty years will that state of mind ever change for him and in spite of his best, most desperate borderline strategic methods to prevent being commanded by a feeling, he still ends up very much controlled by it and really, everything he does to you, ultimately, he does to himself too, invertedly, falling into a trap of his own making. If he strived to make you his slave, he becomes yours. If he tried to make you putty in his hands, he eventually became just that where you are concerned. If he wished to make you disciplined, devoted and full of desire for him, that's the stance he takes towards you. He becomes a mirror image of all his actions and they reflect back on him, and his dedication to you becomes a lifetime affair. You're his most prized person. His madness. And rock. And light. And everything. Where Terry's concerned, you're one. You're an Ouroboros. Snake biting a snake's tail. Infinity. Where he begins and you end is hard to gage, because in his plans to slowly consume you, you've consumed him as well, it's best not to test or try him where the question of just how far he'd go for your sake is in question, because Terry would go to any lengths, by any means, for any and no reason, and if he had to pollute and burn down and kill and manipulate the whole world for your sake, he would. His adoration, turns out, can be a very dark place to be.
