Some quick action studies of the masked torchbearer from the Paris Olympics opening ceremonies. How is he so… aaahhhhh… without even a face 🫣 Anyway his outfit makes it easy to sketch gestures with just big brush passages, which I find very satisfying

soooo i've been real busy this past month and change working on this monster of a painting! it was originally for the GO Ref library study club but clearly took much longer than i anticipated😅

for those of you who don't recognize it, this is based on one of my favorite historical paintings, Judith Beheading Holofernes (1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi. i love the Baroque period and this painting (as well as her other works) makes me insane. here it is Good Omens style so maybe all of you can be insane with me <3

Its not perfect (like everything I made), but I just love drawing comic-like-stuff, I get to relax more. I dont try to do the lines perfectly or the super accurate anatomy (mostly cause I dont know shit about anatomy at all) and also get to be more simple in the colors, wich helps cause I struggle making colors a lot.

I missed drawing my babies...but why did I drawing them like that? XD I swear...I think I should have seen some reference cause I totally change the way I draw the Burger Babys which is crazy for me XD

Now...is this an AU, is this them as teenagers, why is Louise working on Aplebees? Well I didnt put an exact age for the guys here, they could be 16 or 19 I dunno.

ngl, it's about quality over quantity for me. an npc can have a total of three minutes of screen time, but if they have a cool name, they can live rent free in my head and I'll spend several hours trying to decipher drawable features from a blurry screenshot of pixels

there is a vague hint of a story here, and that's because every time I try to play thi4f, I get incredibly frustrated with how Not Fun the game play is. like, is the story good? well. but it has a PLAGUE. that should've given it instant 'I'll replay this once a year' status in my heart, but the game play sucks so bad that I've never finished it. I can't believe Not Fun gameplay beat out my obsession with narrative plagues.

anyway, the idea is basically if the original era had a game with a plague centric narrative and some other stuff I liked out of thi4f thrown into a narrative blender, with a heavy dash of horror thrown in because some parts of the thief games were scarier to me than entire dedicated horror genre games.

Ok so I’m BACK ON MY BULLSHIT to say that ANOTHER reason why I’m a hater of those "post canon vaderdala BUT somehow Anakin gets completely healed and looks like he did before mustafar" fics, other than the ableism which I’ve already touched upon is that!!!!

That moment where Vader lets her see his face… his vulnerability… how he’s been scarred and destroyed… and her accepting and still loving him??? SUCH UNPARALLELED INTIMACY. Literally gnawing the bars of my enclosure about it;;;;; this is actually one of the main appeal of a post canon vaderdala au AND IF YOU ROB ME OF THAT I WILL BE PISSED

Like wdym "he just looks like anakin again as if nothing happened and him having become heavily disabled is never adressed lol" WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS

Actually FURTHERMORE I’m gonna circle back to the ableism shit, bc I got some pushback the last time I talked about this last year, and I feel like maybe at the time to struggled to properly articulate what bothered me, but basically, for those kinds of fics it comes down to:

"Anakin progressively heals thanks to space technology, representing how he stop hating himself and thinking he deserves nothing more than the torture suit" ok! 👍 while I personally have a huge preference for him remaining at least somewhat heavily scarred and disabled as he gets better treatment, you do you, and I do see the vision!

"Anakin heals entirely and looks like he did before mustafar bc clearly there’s no way Padme could fall back in love with him with Vader's body" I am mentally killing you with laser beams
