239 FREE static mobile headers in my ko-fi shop, about disability and pride! (gif versions are coming), 640x360px obviously most are the same I used to make the icons, also in my shop, because there aren’t that many usable, faceless, resources. Share if you’d like for more people to see these, see source to find my shop!
In my shop you’ll find two different downloads: “static tumblr headers about disability, 13 images with a transparent background, each on top of 11 different pride flags” (examples: first two rows of this gifset)
“static tumblr headers about disability, 10 images, each with 11 different pride flags colors” (examples: last two rows)
Each of these have one folder abou sign language (for the trasparent one there is an extra one for blindness!), one folder about wheelchairs users, one about hand or leg prosthetics.
Pride flags used are: ace, agender, aro, bi, lesbian, mlm (where it applies), nonbinary, pansexual, aroace, trans and rainbow.
As always no one is excluded on purpose!

i once again changed my icon and header and as such… here are the new IDs of them!
Tumblr media
[ID: PFP of this blog. It is a picture of tampon charles, with red X edited onto his eyes and the words “die monarch” to the left side. the text is white with a black background. On the top of this image the disability pride flag, which consists of red, yellow, white, blue, and green stripes running diagonally across a dark grey background, has been placed. It has been made mostly transparent so the image underneath can still be viewed. END ID]
Tumblr media
[ID: The header of this blog. Tampon charlie is looking at the camera, smiling, he has had red X edited onto his eyes, pink blush edited onto his cheeks, red devil horns edited onto his forehead, and white cat whiskers edited onto his cheeks. To his left is a white cartoon speech bubble with black text inside reading “Happy Disability Pride Month”. He has also been edited to look as if he is in flames (like the flames of hell). On the top of the image, the disability pride flag (see previous ID to see what that is) has been placed, it is more transparent. END ID]

please, please stop sacrificing legibility for the sake of aesthetics, especially in your bios. not only does it risk it being missed just in general (folks with dark mode on, the screen dimmed, their color settings adjusted, etc), but it sacrifices accessibility. i personally have vertigo, chronic migraines, and blurry vision, and straining trying to read bios in colors that do not provide any solid visual contrast makes me dizzy, and hurts my head, and for the love of all things just,,,,remember disabled people exist and stop making me decide whether to make myself sick reading your bio, or block you knowing that if i could just read your damn bio i probably wouldn't have to

I'm almost tempted to make an Inktober, where you pick a random unwanted Tumblr Live icon that is on your screen, draw it with a random character generated from...anywhere. I might just use the #Shitpost tag. And then see if Tumblr flags my post.

I think getting a hysterectomy would either help with my migraine issues or just give me different problems but I wont be able to know until next year minimum and even then I dont know if I can do a second surgery so soon. the way that birth control just utterly and completely fucks you over when youre starting it, when youre on it, and when youre getting off it is so. Idk if its even worth it to change my birth control if Im gonna get a hystrectomy in the vague soonish future even if I feel like absolute dogshit for an entire month for 1/3rd of the year.
#I take it back on whatever post I made recently about hrt. I think its making my migraine issues worse.#I would take back the smell issue over migraines that have me searching basic math to make sure Im still doing 3x3 correctly#in my head. and like. being unable to read more than a paragraph or two at a time.#honestly. Im really mad at myself for being caught off guard by that doctor and telling her I was on testosterone.#because now I have to jump through stupid fucking hoops to get a hysterectomy and shit and who knows what wouldve happened if I was able to#pretend I was cis. Im pissed about it. and OFCCCCCC she says 'yes I will make sure not to mention the trans thing outside of my notes!'#and WHAT does she label the appointment as?????? literally mentioning Im trans in the big ass header that my new primary doctor immediately#saw. like come on girl do your job better than this.#life sucks being disabled when you have to do all this crap. cant just Schedule a Surgery you have to go get approved by insurance and then#make sure someone can bring you and also you have food you can actually eat during recovery and take time off work and worry about money an#then find out insurance did not approve the surgery AT the appt and then you have to wait another 2 months to reschedule the surgery and do#all of the above alllll over again. but like even worse.#bro Im so stressed about money all the time my moms bills keep going up and her bills cost more than my monthly paycheck. its bad out here.#anyway. my nightly tag rant.

2 free downloads from my ko-fi shop - see source of the post, part of a collection of 406 gif headers for tumblr mobile (640x360px) focusing on disabilities and lgbt-ness, transparent images with pride flag as a background. [also 2 downloads with non transparent images]
I used 13 different images: 1 about blindness - the only one not fully transparent 1 about speaking sign language 6 about wheelchair users 4 about having a prosthetic hand 1 about having a prosthetic leg
part 1 focuses on wheelchair users, sign language and blindness, part 2 on prosthetics.
They are repeated 11 times, each for every pride flag I made as their background (asexual, agender, aromantic, aroace, bisexual, lesbian, mlm gay, nonbinary, pansexual, rainbow, transgender pride flag - if they can apply) and each of these 11 headers has 3 variations with different animations: explosion of glitter, falling stars and hearts.
Free but obviously feel welcomed to buy me a coffee if you'd like - if you can't, that's also okay, we've all been there, just enjoy the download! <3

I am going to say this as gently as possible, but people do not get a warning when your header is seizure- or migraine-inducing. We don't know that your blog has a flashing gif right at the top until we click on it for whatever reason. There is no way to be aware of that ahead of time, no way to filter or block or hide it, no way to prepare ourselves.
Like when you put something like that in a completely unavoidable part of your blog, the very first thing that people are going to see when they clock your URL, then you are actively choosing to put disabled people in danger. I know that's not anyone's intention, but this shit isn't a joke. I cannot stand up right now. The combination of eye strain and flashing gifs that people cover their blogs and carrds with have fucked me up so badly that I have been thrown into such a bad migraine attack that I am too weak to stand. There is a very good chance that I'm going to throw up.
So just like. Be aware of how those things are affecting people who visit your blog. Please.

Art Hacks for Physical Disabilities!!
I know art can be inaccessible to physically disabled people for a lot of reasons, and I think art should be accessible to everyone, so here’s a couple of the things I found to help for a few different issues you may face that stop you participating!
I have a link to all these items (UK) in my link tree!!
IMAGE DESCRIPTION
Slide one: illustration of a white woman with pink hair, wearing a pink outfit, sitting in a power wheelchair, looking at the viewer with thumbs up. Text Reese “hacks to make art more accessible”
Slide two: illustration of three different kinds, using three different types of pencil grips. One hand uses a circular grip. 100 is a large, rectangular grip. Another uses a grip that is ergonomic and fit into the hand. Main text reads “Paul, grip, strength and dexterity”. Subtext reads “there are loads of different types of pencil, grips or design for different disabilities and conditions. Increasing the width of the pencil can give more texture for a better grip using a pencil with a thicker with also reduces the amounts of pressure needed to hold a pencil you can make your own using items like pool noodles. KT tape an air dry clay. You can also put these groups on things like paint brushes.“
Slide three: illustration of a hand using a tool that looks like a wrist support with a paintbrush connected to it text next to it reads “this talk next a paintbrush to your hand in a way that means you don’t need to hold the paintbrush with your fingers and you will need to move your arm around“ on the bottom right hand corner is in photograph of a guided hand device. Text read “regarded hand as a tool designed to reduce the need for moving your hands and fingers and relies on the movement of your shoulder and upper arms and can be used with different materials like paintbrushes, pencils, pens and styluses.
Slide four: main header reads “when in bed“. Illustration of an iPad pillow with a iPad in it is next to text that reads “iPad pillows, put your tablet at an easier to access level when sitting or lying down“. In the bottom left hand corner is an illustration of a girl sitting in bed in her pyjamas with a pillow behind her and a bed table as she is drawing. On the left hand side is a photograph of a bed table with the text reading “bed tables are used to give you a flat tire up surface while in bed, and are often height adjustable”. In the bottom right hand side is a bedsit, a pillow with the text underneath, reading “ bedsitters of specially shaped pillows that you put behind you in bed to help you set up and give you a soft surface to lean back on”.
Slide five: maisie had a read out “at a desk left”. On the left hand side is a photograph of the document holder with the text “document holders put your paper at an angle to help prevent crane in your neck down”. On the right hand, middle side is an illustration of someone using a armrest and on the bottom left hand side is a photograph of the armrest. Text next to them reads “economic arm rests clip onto your table or desk and give you a surface you lean you’re forearms or elbows on. This can be used to steady your arm and reduce pain and fatigue while sitting at a desk”.
Slide six: maisie reads “foot and mouth painters” . on the right hand side is an photograph of swapping Augustine, an Indian woman with no arms, wearing a sari painting with her left foot. In the bottom left hand corner is an illustration of a woman with green hair painting using her mouth. Text reads “foot and mouth painting is a technique used by artists who do not have, or cannot use their arms so hold the paintbrush in their mouth or using their foot. Swapna Augustine is a foot painter who has painted with her feet and participated in multiple exhibitions of foot and mouth painters. Her art is stunning and I would definitely recommend checking some of help work out.“
Slide seven: main text reeds “art without brushes and pens”. On the left-hand side is a photograph of a spin art device. Text next to read it reads “spin out involves using bottles of ink and squirting them onto a spinning piece of paper to create spiral art. On the middle right hand side is a illustration of a laptop with coding art written on the screen. Text me next to it reads “coding art involves making programs that design and create art pieces digitally. This could be used in conjunction with an eye tracking software.“ On the bottom left hand side is a photograph of a child in a power wheelchair with paint on their wheels painting onto a large piece of paper. Next to this is text reading “wheelchair painting involves putting paint on your wheelchair wheels and moving around and large piece of paper. Sometimes you can connect a roller to create more marks.“
Slide eight: text reads “what do you do to make art accessible for you?”
End of ID.
