okay speaking of dikx, some fun facts: well its more like, trivia and future plans, but i want to make two characters that hang around him: a scientist that gets full funding for him to fuck around because dikx loves seeing the fucked up shit he makes, although they have a bit of a love hate relationship; and dikx right hand arm man, his everything, his confidant, his silly rabbit (''is that what he calls you?'' and ANOTHER THING. alastor making a FUCKING DEAL?.????? as you know i was already wrung dry by that point in the story, ready for the cool down from high emotions, then BOOM. LIKE WHAT THE FUCK? I NEEDED TO TAKE A BREAK WITH VOX!!!!!!!! ALASTOR YIU FUCKING MAD MAN. and yes i IMMEDIATELYYYYYYY noticed that vox essentially agreed to nothing while alastor agreed to something WAY more soul binding. im just in shock because i think this is the biggest display of love alastor has portrayed in the whole series so far. even BY far. with the sexual stuff, alastor is/was new to it all and unsure. even with the general intimacy stuff. but this? deals? soul contracts? this is His Domain. so far, vox has been guiding alastor through this relationship, and alastor has almost had a plausible deniability in it all. like clearly, he enjoys it and loves vox, even if he doesnt acknowledge it to himself. but his facade allows him the distance to claim Vox is the one making this relationship happen, and alastor is going along on a whim. we even see it in the last chapter, when alastor says he never trusted vox [hilarious that he said that right after he said that he trusted vox. alastor revealing things he didn’t mean to when scared and angry is my favorite theme in this series], and overall said this whole thing was a mistake and he was Foolish for being TRICKED INTO IT!!! i’m not explaining this well but the idea is that alastor had the plausible deniability that he was the Passive Participant thus far. this deal? CHANGES ALL OF THAT. on a base level, it shows that he’s so serious about this relationship that his FUCKING SOUL IS ON THE LINE. THE THING THAT JUST TRIGGERED HIM INTO HIS FIRST PANIC ATTACK? YEAH THAT. and of course that the contract was wayyyyyy more binding for him than vox. and that he clearly KNEW that. it’s just all a double edged sword. alastor made the deal in order to flex his power and pull one over on vox, which soothed him after the panic attack and vox seeing him that “weak”. but he also did it because vox opened up to him about his experience with domestic violence. and he felt so uncomfortable and guilty (YES guilty im interpreting it like that) about it that, at the very least subconsciously, he immediately made a SOUL CONTRACT that he’d never attack vox again rashly. like oh my fucking god. this, in turn, shows how invested he is, and how much he cares for vox. IN SUM. alastor probably made this deal as a conscious power play, but it really just showed how much he loves and respects vox. LOSER!!!!!!! and is this reminding anyone of anything? seems to be paralleling vox carving himself up for alastor post adam. god these ancient men. sorry for the essay !!!! if you were a college professor and i had to write analytical essays on your work i PROMISE i would tear that shit up. Fujimoto has a sort of strange method he uses to write that a character Loves/cares deeply for someone. And its The character either being willing to be consumed or to provide sustenance to someone, Or to consume the other person. Examples:

Shikaku

After Shikaku confesses her love for Yucel, He rushes to the hospital to offer her his blood, Making her into an immortal vampire just like him. Yucel has also fallen for Shikaku, its basically his confession of love, He wants to live with her Forever.

Its drawn in a way you can tell its such an act of compassion too.

Mermaid Rhapsody

"I loved her so much that I thought, If it was by someone with a smile as pretty as hers, Maybe being eaten wouldn't be so bad."

Toshihides Dad feels the exact same way about his Mom as Toshihide feels about Shijyu. Mermaids eat humans, But that never mattered to either of them.

Goodbye Eri

In Yuutas Movie about Eri, He writes her to be a Vampire, because he wouldnt actually mind to be her sustenance, In his movie, he loves Eri so much. (I genuinely cant read this fucking story without sobbing, Rereading it again just to get this screengrab just made me cry for like 20 min help)

Fire Punch

This one is Pretty straight forward, Agni with his regenerative powers feeds his village by continuously chopping of his Arm so they dont all starve to death. But more importantly he does this to prevent his sister from doing it aswell. He doesnt want her to suffer that pain so he takes sole responsibility for providing himself to the village.

Agni also later feeds his followers with the help of Togata Chopping of the part of his face that isnt on Fire. I think this has more todo with making sure Togata gets fed rather than his followers, To Agni Togata means alot.

⚠️Chainsaw Man Part 1 (Spoilers for the Final arc)⚠️

When Power is about to Die, Power not only offers her own blood For Denji to Drink so he can get back to health, But Pochita also offers a small part of himself so she can come back as a Powerful Devil.

And ofcourse the big one is Denji Eating Makima. He obviously has to and all for the sake of erasing her. But he explicitly says it wasnt an Attack, It was an act of Love.

Its such a fascinating thing that the idea of consuming someone can be concidered something you do to a cherished one, as an affectionate thing. I guess as Denji mentions that you basically become one with eachother in a way if you consume them.

But this is such a Weird thing Right? Where does this idea even originate from? Well ofcourse we can only Speculate but I really think he took on inspiration from his own life here, Because he has actually done this to someone he loved. Yes, Seriously.

Tatsuki Fujimoto eating his deceased Pet Fish

In the Authors notes for "Tatsuki Fujimoto Before Chainsaw Man: 22-26" Fujimoto shares a story from when he was 24:

"Even though we were poor, we had a pet Japanese rice fish. I found it dead one summer. I went to toss its body into the trash like in Parasyte, but my girlfriend said she wanted me to bury it, So off I went to the park, alone. I tried to bury it under this big tree, but the ground was too hard, my hands got all dirty and I had no hole to show for my effort. Out of Options, I figured I would pretend I had buried the fish and left it lying there on top of the ground. As I watched it for a little while, ants found the body and began to carry it away. Im not sure what came over me, but in that moment, love for that pet fish welled within me for the first time. I brushed the ants away, and then Ate it."

It has that "Wait what the hell am I reading" Charm to the story like alot of his works, But theres something so weirdly beautiful about this story, Somehow stricken with grief and love for this fish, He ate it. As Denji says, its not an attack, his fish is part of him now and its an act of love. So strange, yet so Beautiful.

1-the goodbye

I stood there as steve got his last good wishes from his team mates. I stood back watching tears in my eyes. I knew he only had a certain amount and im thinking back to the cinversariin we had after it was decided hed be the onky to return them

"Why do I feel like theres a but comming"

"There is" he took my hands, "sweeetheart even tho hank pym is back theres still that adjustment period everyone is going through and he csnt make more pym particles right now"

"Cant you wait? Time will always be there for you to return it?"

He took my palm, like he does when he's  nervous and subconsciouslybdraws the same patterns he always does when he looked down.

"Yes and no. You see the way that Strange explained it is that time will continue on  and yes and while we can wait the stones not being there is affecting us here and now as in the past they arent there.  I could wait but if simething happens," he swollows hard, "something to you. I cant lose you."

That was how last night went too. The last night before this trip. A trio that i knew would be mear seconds for me for for him it could be years. 

Then he walked over to me, he had tears in his eyes. Hia other team mates offered to come to help only ateve, i bruce and hank pim knew that wasnt possible. 6 vials. He had 6 and that was all. I was praying of somethin did go grong that last jump hed be able to grab more particles and get back to me. I also knew about the contingency they set up the older face the extra shield, just in case. So many just in cases. It meant to be steves way of dissapearing so we could live aort of loke clint and tony away from the spotlight and danger. 

He hugged me again, wispering in my eqr Ill be back in seconds my love and i love you so much," i felt a tear fall from his face onto mine

"Itll be only minutes babe, 60 minutes the most and youll be back in my arms." I gave him reassurance

"I  hope it works out like that nur every monute ill be thinking about getting back to you,"

He hugged me tightly. "I love you. And those seconds that pass here i told bucky to not let go of your hand,"

Steve gave me one last kiss on my lips and then a kiss behind me ear making me giggle

I felt bucky take my hand and lead me down the strairs steves and my eyes never leaving eachother's. He looked at me as he put the helmet on  and I squeezed Bucky's hand as Steve lifted his hand to presse rhe vutton and bucky squeezed mine as Steve dissapeared.

After 45 seconds my hand let go of Bucky's  but Bucky bevee ler go of mine.

you were lovestruck; you saw the world through rose colored glasses the second you saw him. he was so ethereal. even just standing there.

this world..full of danger. full of diseases. the most common one, the hanahaki disease.

HANAHAKI DISEASE - in which the victim coughs up flower petals if they suffer from one-sided love.

if only..if only you hadn’t seen him. if only you hadn’t gone to the boba shop that day.

it was your turn to order and the boy with green hair looked at you with an eyebrow raised. you stepped up trying to avoid eye contact as you found the gift cards much more interesting.

“i’ll have a thai tea.”

“with boba?”

“no thank you..”

you heard some tapping on the screen before he spoke up again.

“will that be all?”

you took a look at the pastries, pondering if you should get a brownie or a cakepop.

“i’ll get a brownie.”

he tapped on the screen again and you felt him look at you, “that’ll be $8.50.”

you opened your wallet and took out four dollar bills and one five dollar bill. he opened the register and took your money.

you looked at him and made eye contact as he handed you your change. he was smiling as you felt your cheeks got hot, you immediately looked back down. he handed you your receipt, holding onto it a little longer than 3 seconds.

“what’s your name?”

“what? what does that have to do with anything haha..”

you looked around nervously and you heard him chuckle. “i need a name to call out for your order, no?”

you tried to calm yourself down and shakily said, “it’s yn.”

“okay yn i’ll let you know when your order is ready.”

you nodded and walked to the booth farthest away from the cash register. there you slumped in your seat and sighed heavily. you looked over to the cash register and found him staring directly at you, you squeaked and looked away.

‘nononono this can’t happen. wait- as long as i don’t fall in love with him i’ll be fine right? i can be attracted to him..’

as you thought to yourself you didn’t hear your name being called. ‘i mean..as long as i don’t get to know him and fall in love i’ll be fine?’

you looked up and saw the green haired boy from earlier.

after his manager finished scolding him he turned back to where you were sitting, you were studying and writing some notes down with earbuds in. he leaned his head on his hand as he stared at you, he observed you as you were oblivious to his staring. he took in how your hair shaped your face and you were pretty attractive. he sighed and got back to work.

you looked at the time and decided it was time to leave so you cleaned up and walked to the trash can, deciding whether or not to keep the cup and save his number or not. as much as you wanted to, it was very risky. you didn’t want to die from a disease..or get a surgery to get it removed. deciding against it you threw away the cup and walked back to your booth; packing up your belongings and walking out the boba shop. the snow hitting your head as you walked back to your house, it wasn’t that far from the boba shop.

not seeing him was impossible to do since that boba shop was one of your favorites, you always went there to study; you liked the vibe and the drinks were just good. eventually he memorized what to make you when you walked in and you weren’t as flustered when you saw him anymore. you were able to make eye contact and be polite to him without your face turning red.

what he did notice though, was that he never got a message from you; he noticed you always threw away the cups, napkins, or pieces of paper he had given you with his number on it. he noticed it the first time but thought that you had already saved his number. while he was confused on why you weren’t saving his number, you were always shocked when you saw his number written down on something when you got your order. was he into you or something?

if he was…maybe being his friend wouldn’t be bad?

one day you walked into the boba shop and he stood behind the counter smiling at you as you walked up. you took a quick look at his nametag and addressed him by his name.

“hi..xiao…the usual, please..?”

you felt awkward being friendly with him, after all you avoided making small talk or getting to know him. he seemed as shocked as you did and you just looked around while your face turned hotter. he smiled and started laughing.

“the first time in three months of coming here, and you actually said my name..i was wondering how long it would take.”

your heart started pounding as he continued laughing, eventually you started laughing with him too.

“yn’s usual order, coming right up.”

he smiled and gave you your receipt. you went and sat down at the booth you usually sat in and took your stuff out to start studying. after a couple of minutes he brought your stuff out and sat across from you. you looked at him and you were both staring at each other, “why won’t you save my number?”

your eyes widened at his question, was he really that into you?

you awkwardly smiled, how were you supposed to answer that? ‘i’m not into you, sorry.’ that is such a lie! i’m totally into him! i just don’t want to get that horrible disease!

wait..if he was already into you…would you get the disease? i mean you’re not suffering from a one-sided love. so weighing your options you chose the best option out of this situation.

you tilted your head and put a finger on your chin; you made a confused expression and said, “you gave me your number?”

he stared at you for a couple of seconds before opening his mouth to talk, he was dumbfounded. “y-you never saw it?”

you nodded and continued to play dumb, he brought up how many times he had wrote it down for you to see but you wouldn’t budge. he slumped in his seat with a defeated expression, “i give up. it seems like you really never saw my number.”

“if you want..”

your heart started racing.

“..you can give it to me now?”

your face turned hotter.

he thought about it, he thought about why he hasn’t given up on giving you his number. before he was doing it for fun and now he just didn’t know why he never stopped; he was waiting for your text after work.

he smiled at you and wrote his number down on the napkin and slid it over to you. “we should hang out sometime.” with that he got up and walked back to the counter.

to be perfectly honest, you were still very afraid of getting that disease. but xiao seemed into you, it didn’t seem like it was going to be a one-sided love. so you decided to risk it; instead of suppressing your emotions whenever you saw him you expressed them. he did the same and it made you happy, unfortunately neither of you made a move to make it official so you were stuck in that ‘more than friends less than lovers’ stage.

at least you were stuck in it until someone new came into the store. you were studying like usual and a girl with blue hair walked in. she had a white coat on and her light blue hair was in a ponytail with a bow, she dusted herself off and you could sense her presence the moment she walked in. you were watching her and xiao interact, you were growing slightly insecure. she smiled at xiao and sat down at a window table near the cash register, unlike you where you sat in the corner of the shop nowhere near the register. or a window.

she looked so pretty. just sitting there. she was scrolling on her phone and you found yourself comparing yourself to her.

“order for ganyu.”

you heard your not-boyfriend yell, you eyed her cup to see if there was a number on it. she got up and walked over to the counter, grabbed some napkins and walked out.

‘guess i really was overthinking..’

or at least that’s what you thought until you looked over at xiao he was staring at the door, as if he was expecting her to walk back in. you felt a deep pit settle itself in your stomach, you were feeling very anxious right now.

all of a sudden you started coughing violently, you felt all kinds of emotions going through you. the most distinct one though; you were feeling dread. your coughing fit had caught the attention of xiao as he walked over to you. you ran to the bathroom before he could get to you, you locked the bathroom and kneeled over the toilet.

what you started coughing up made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. you were mortified right now. this is what you wanted to avoid. this is why you knew it wasn’t a good idea to get close to him. he was ripped away from you just like that; in two seconds, when that girl walked in.

“yn? are you okay in there..?”

you heard xiao softly knock on the bathroom door and you got up. you flushed the toilet and opened the door. you smiled at him and walked right past him. he looked at you confused, why weren’t you saying anything?

“yn? seriously, are you okay?”

“mhm! peachy- cough peachy keen!”

“at least let me check if you have a fever-”

you were packing away your things, getting ready to leave. you turned around and xiao was right there,his hand was right there and he put it up against your forehead. the action warmed your heart and you felt another coughing fit coming up.

“yn you’re burning up, should i walk you home?”

“no i’m-i’ll be- cough cough”

blood covered petals were being forced out of your throat as you held onto your chest. xiao stood there, speechless; his eyes were wide and he was staring at you. “do- what? what happene-”

you grabbed your belongings and shoved him out of the way. he tried chasing after you but he was scared stiff; he couldn’t move, shock and horror going through his body.

you at home started crying your eyes out, you were in so much pain. how did all of his feelings vanish after seeing her for two minutes? it wasn’t fair, did those four months mean nothing? you were really in a world of hurt. bloodied petals being coughed up while experiencing heartbreak, how did he get over you so fast?

he didn’t see you for the next month; he started staring out the door more, expecting you to walk in. he was spaced out more than usual at work, he looked over to where you would usually be sitting and his heart tore a little when he didn’t see you there.

this didn’t last long though, as the blue-haired customer started coming in more. xiao was entranced by her and eventually he was able to do his work just fine as long as he could see her more. she seemed to share the same thought.

you knew what you had to do, it’s not like he would care anyway. you had the proof in your body, he didn’t love you anymore. you scheduled an appointment, you knew what this meant; you would be forgetting about him and your feelings for him all together.

it had been about 5 months since xiao had seen you, honestly he had you locked away in the back of his mind. he didn’t want to remember what happened that day; he felt guilty. he felt guilty for letting yoy walk out like that. he felt guilty for letting your feelings go on like that. he knew. he knew about your feelings for him; he had feelings for you too.

that was until that blue haired girl walked in. unlike her, he didn’t have love at first sight with you. he had to get to know you, he had to get closer to you for his feelings to actually develop. she walked in and took his heart from you, tearing yours in the process.

when he heard the bell of the door ring he looked up expecting it to be ganyu, but you had walked right in. his eyes widened and memories started pouring into his mind. you looked at him confused, “where’s lumine? did she hire someone new..”

you mumbled to yourself while wondering who the new worker was. you shrugged and walked right up to him.

“hi! i’ll get a-”

“thai tea, no boba with a brownie? warmed up?”

you were stunned to say the least, “huh? did you read my mind or something? ARE YOU A FORTUNE TELLER?”

you stared at him determined to know the truth, “okay honestly..how did you know what i was going to order??” you were a little scared but intrigued.

“you don’t remember?”

“what? remember what?”

xiao started to connect the dots, did you get the surgery in those five months you disappeared? no you couldn’t have possibly..

“yn did you get the sur-”

he was quickly shut up by a mouth on his hand, “yn, hi! how’s everything going?”

“lumine! everything’s going fine, i just wanted to come here more..you liar you said this place was only open weekdays! also when did you hire him?~ he’s pretty cute!”

you winked at him and his ears went red.

“oh trust me, you don’t want him..he’s a troublemaker.”

you laughed and lumine side eyed xiao. “what can i get for you yn?” she smiled and looked back at you , she took her hand off xiao mouth and took your order. he just watched the interaction between you two.

lumine told you to go sit down, but when she walked to the back you winked at xiao again.

“so what’s your name?”

“oh, it’s xiao..” he took a moment to reminisce the memories between you two.

“well..nice to meet you xiao, i hope we get to see each other more often!” you turned and went to go sit at a window table.

it seems even if you forgot all about him, you could never resist his charm.

rambling more abt nightcord and their theme because i just NEED to get it out if my system

i think nightcord is such beautifully constructed with its theme of healing because every character has someone specific helping them out most within the unit

idk how to explain it in general terms but basically

kanade struggles with overworking and not taking proper care of herself, her main help with this comes from mizuki! sure, others help out too but mizuki is the one who points out those self destructive behaviours the most [or at least from ehat i remeber] and this dynamic is so so beautifully shown specifically in carnation recollection

mizuki is the one telling kanade to take a break, but kanade is set on making another song for mafuyu despite being absolutely stuck. i think mizuki is the most clever out of the 4 specifically because of this event, since they knew kanade wont give up on it ever and decided to use a different approach to give her the deserved break and would also help her out in this situation. kanade would never have some time off if it wasnt for mizuki. thats how mizuki cares for her, by "tricking" her into taking one while also getting to spend nice time together and end up reminiscing.

this is such an important story because thanks to mizuki, a part of kanade got to heal.

mafuyu very obviously is mostly helped by kanade, who tries her very best and gives it literally her all to help mafuyu find herself, but she always gives mafuyu space when she needs it as well. i think since this one is most obvious i dont have to dwell on it too much but the love and care kanade has for mafuyu makes me soooo fucking insane like omg. kanade is the whole reason mafuyu even tries. shes the sole reason why mafuyu could get where she is now and didnt give up.

ena is a bit tricky, but surprisingly i think her helper is... mafuyu. i have honestly no clue how to explain what i mean at all, but seeing someone with so much talent and the "perfect" life be completely empty was so important to enas character. mafuyu makes painfully slow progress on her situation yet ena notices it, and she might not fully realize it but its helping ena take things easier with her art as well, which i think is shown very well in hope will someday go beyond the morning. mafuyu makes just a slightly different expression but ena still notices it, paralleled by enas art teacher noticing enas intent and emotion behind her art project. despite so many mistakes in the work on a technical level, it had soul. not to mention mafuyu indirectly helps ena be more understanding of others, which is very obvious when you compare how she was with mafuyu at first vs their current dynamic. mafuyu doesnt even know it but she inspires ena so so much not only in her art but to be better as a person.

and for mizuki, its also very obvious with main help coming from ena. pretty much every mizuki focus [<- exaggeration warning] will have ena trying her best to help mizuki out, and thanks to enas growth she can understand mizuki better and better and know how to deal with their issue. she thinks she needs to know the secret to know mizuki, but she learns that its not actually important, and she wants to show mizuki that as well. she constantly shows mizuki support and care weather they are willing to tell their secret or not, and in her own way wants to reassure mizuki that no matter what she wants to be there for them. ena helps mizuki so much that they even finally consider telling ena their secret, after like a year in canon if not longer!! which is such a huge deal because mizuki was convinced that telling ena someday they will tell what it is was completely a lie. they never had any intention to actually say what it is. but they grew so much and feel so safe around ena that the fact they even CONSIDERED IT implies so much healing, growth and trust. it makes me SOB. i am INSANE about mizuena. ena loves them SO MUCH its just so JSHSHDHYSHEIRUDHXHJSNB

thoughts on billie the kid: act 1

this is by no means a synopsis or a review, just my thoughts and things i wanted to share while i was watching. it will cover a lot of the plot though, so spoiler warning!!

the whole cast was on stage for gez and conway’s pre-show speech and when they were done they all filed off for olivia to take centre stage, all giving her little shoulder pats – and then jodie steele fully slapped her ass with her binder.

‘poor white trash girl’ the ballad of my fellow working class bitches who were always just normal enough to be tolerated as long as we didn't complain too much.

right off the bat we see billie is popular, but… no she's not. her friends clearly love her - they seem to get along and kelly, her best friend and school valedictorian, is very humble and proud towards billie upon finding out she's shooting for a scholarship at a community college despite kelly herself having been early accepted to duke. she even shuts down another of their friends, candy, when she tries to make a subtle dig at billie’s first choice being a community college. but that’s just it. billie IS different to these wealthy ivy league girls, from her hand-me-down jacket to working nights at a truck stop to keep the lights on. they get to giggle at her adorable dreams of going to a community college. they get to smile approvingly at how hard shes trying. they get to say ‘did you tell them about your moms… SITUATION?’ as if the only reason billie could get a scholarship is because shes a sob story. and kelly stops this - when she sees billie as an ally. when she doesnt, shit hits the fan. but thats getting ahead of myself.

brodie is a genuinely kind and doting boyfriend, and im really glad they went that route with him. there are so many characters where it would have been easy to follow the tropes, from brodie to billie's mother to mrs banks. but brodie is such a sweet guy - he takes care of billie, keeps her books and ‘emergency yoghurts’ (i think i heard that right?) in his locker, he makes up silly cheer routines to make her laugh. im glad they made brodie this kindhearted, softspoken boy whose only crime is being FRIGHTENED. and also betraying billies trust but we’ll get to that. 

in all the plans billie and brodie make together, its clear brodie’s taking a backseat. billie makes the plans. billie's getting them both out of here. brodie’s just along for the ride. now you can absolutely read this as billie being taken advantage of, because with how scared brodie is, i do see that as part of it - but i think it also goes to show how stifling your own queerness creates a lack of awareness as to who you are and what you want from your future.

when billie finds out about the sexting, shes obviously horrified and devastated. brodies her one support in such a chaotic life, and we’ve seen firsthand how much he loves her. we also see firsthand how much billie trusts kelly, to share her deepest embarrassment with her and trust she wouldn't tell anyone. something i like that they added is that when billie goes to confront brodie, she isnt an automatic feminist girlboss about it. she is genuinely conflicted about what brodie did to her because she loves him so much and loves that he loves her. she even begins to believe she’d be ok with the cheating as long as brodie still loved her, which is what causes her to seek out his sidepiece so that she can try and force ‘her’ into leaving brodie alone. i like that billie is flawed here, i like that she'd actually go through with this humiliation if it meant she could just have someone support her - it really hammers home how desperate she is for some stability in her life and how much disrespect she’d put up with just for someone to show up for her, which i think you can also see in the way her friends treat her.

something interesting in the show is that while i thought brodie and david KNEW they were texting each other, they actually have a rule of ‘no names, no faces’ set by brodie. i dont know how he found davids number, but david does mention at one point "these footballers, they always do this. make a new account just to mess with me." so like. were they legit on grindr? guys… still, them not knowing who the other is makes me really curious about their relationship and what they shared. david calls him ‘football star’ so he must know brodie plays - i wonder what else they shared with each other beyond just dirty messages?

(also, david canonically cant spell for shit - as billie reads their messages she exclaims “oh, come on, brodie, you couldn't’ve cheated on me with someone who can READ?”)

the acoustic version of ‘confederate fag’ really gave me the wrong idea of the song - which is of course the point, to recontextualize the material - but oh my god hearing it the way its meant to be heard?? i’m stunned. the story is that davids been out of school for a week because he tried to commit suicide. well, now hes decided not to let anyone's words get to him ever again, so hes hyping himself up to go back to school (‘been in bed for six days, and on the seventh, i rested’ is a line thats been driving me crazy… yep thats an accurate depiction of my mental state!!). the title comes from the fact that he tore down the confederate flag their school hung from their flagpole to commemorate the ‘honorable soldiers who died defending their rights’ and graffitied it. 

“okay, david. first day back, and we are serving reclaimed slurs, reclaimed hatred, and, uh… (leans forward to awkwardly spit on the flag, obviously grossed out but looking quite pleased after he does so) pride.”

confederate fag is such a hyped-up, blood pumping, fist clenching, kick your ass song that fills me with so much determination - fuck yeah!! hes not gonna back down!! hes not gonna lose to some dumb fucking bigots!! hes better than them!! and hes not going to let them kill him before he gets the life he deserves!!

“yeah, you can try and kill me [flips off kelly and candy] OHHH but i got there FIRST!!! 😜😜😜 HAHA!!!” i mentioned this before but YES BITCH RECLAIM THAT TRAUMA, THEY TRIED TO KILL YOU BUT THEY COULDNT, IT WAS ALL FUCKING YOU AND THEY DONT GET TO TAKE CREDIT FOR IT!!!

as he sings, the cast freezes around him as he manipulates them, flipping off kelly and candy, tearing pages from teachers clipboards, and drawing lipstick over a jocks face. he also runs upstage to sing into the stand-mic and as he sings the final chorus the cast do these limp puppet motions of saluting and pumping their fists. really shows that david's hopes for a better future are flimsy, half formed and not all the way real, but visible enough for him to keep on hoping.

so peaches mouse and david (when he wasnt in the hospital) all sold drugs together. they seem like a gang, but they really make it clear that theyre a family - the drugs are just to keep them all afloat as they try to skip town. but peaches, my QUEEN peaches, is the one who bites the bullet and says ‘enough is enough, david is not safe here and we are leaving NOW’. she sells the last of their amount for 3k and decides shes getting her family out of winchester creek forever. and while i do love peaches so much, a lot of her character revolves around this, a very fierce older sister need to protect everyone and fix all their problems singlehandedly. and god i wish she’d just get a break from it man. or at least be allowed to express some frustration with that at all. but she seems to really take pride in protecting her family, so i wont overstay my welcome on that topic.

this protectiveness manifests in her literally sabotaging herself to protect her family. when mouse is harassed by candy at school, who frequently misgenders and deadnames them as she tries to buy vicodin off of them, peaches scares her away even after she tries offering them more money and winds up losing a customer. i truly do love that scene so much. get her peaches!! she deserves NOTHING.

“peaches” is a flawless song, you've all heard it by now. hannah victorias singing is unreal and she is truly the glue of the show. more peaches appreciation!! this lesbian gave us EVERYTHING!!

during the lyrics “show her some love!” mouse dances around peaches making heart-hands and gesturing for the audience to hype her up. yes!! appreciate her yall!!

when david shows up at school hes immediately cornered by candy and mary-beth (the religious nut played by yuki sutton, whose comedic timing and delivery is flawless and who deserves the world itself). the scene is skin-crawlingly uncomfortable in the best of ways.

“we had to have two whole classes for suicide awareness for you, david!” “… we’re very aware now!”

the show really knew how to use mary-beth as a character, and yuki sutton REALLY knew how to play her. she provides some much needed levity with all her bible-thumping insanity and her sheer dedication to the hysteria (“AND GOD SAID THOU SHALT NOT LIE ABOUT GUN CONTROL!!!!!!” “its not his fault, he werent raised right! hes never even been to SEAWORLD!!!”) made the entire theatre fucking WHEEZE. but man when she says “you’re sick”, those two simple words, it just… UGH. its chilling. just how much she CARES when she says it. its brilliant and its awful and i love it. GENIUS.

also david gets to get in candys face and yell BITE ME at her which was therapeutic for me.

i find it so heartbreakingly sweet that peaches is confused as to why david is late because “you were supposed to come in with mouse!”. do they all travel in packs to keep each other safe. “no one walks alone” type deal. cause thats… so beautiful and so sad.

it is… so disheartening seeing david’s face drop upon seeing brodie’s phone. football star was important enough for david to text him on the day he was supposed to go back to school after everything and he wholeheartedly believes it was all a joke just to mess with him.

i love that the show does take its time establishing that even though billie's more self aware than her friends, she's not immune to the rhetoric of her small town. she's against gun control at first and fully carries a pistol with her. when david mocks her for being relieved brodie isn't gay, she says “oh no, being gay’s fine for you! but for brodie, it'd just be freaky”. she GENUINELY thinks that none of her friends would turn on brodie for being gay because ‘people love him!’. and its so… SO heartwrenching to see the way david glares at the floor as she says that. ‘people love him!’ … and didnt anyone love david?

david: stick by your boyfriend. if he really is gay, he's gonna need all the help he can get. and besides [spoken with the bitchiest tone, the haughtiest head-tilt, and a cunt matched only by god herself] he ain’t my type 🙄

“cowboy cheerleader” my beloved. brodie has spent so long living in the background because he’s been too terrified to be himself. But he really did want what’s best for billie. He really does love her.

you really do get the sense that billie and her mother are two people who love each other and so desperately want something from the other that the other is just not able to give due to their situation. betty is fighting her addiction – sidebar, oh my god this show does such a good job at showing that addiction is not a character flaw, oh my god – and doesn’t want to lose billie to college, but she has not given billie much reason to have faith in her. she’s still in contact with her dealers, she doesn’t seem to care about billie’s hopes of a scholarship, and so billie is so used to her mother letting her down that she (justifiably) assumes the worst in her, something that could be solved so easily if her mother just SHOWED UP – but how can she when she thinks billie wants to so badly to be rid of her? Whenever they speak to each other you really get the idea that they both care about each other and are trying so hard to show it but they just can’t meet in a way that makes sense to the other. billie always assumes the worst in her mother (again, justifiably so) and her saying “brodie was always too good to be true” so easily becomes “so what, he’s too good for me?”. but man they are both trying so hard to reach one another… and they get there, eventually.

also betty immediately being supportive of her brodie-bear… outcasts unite baby. she knew what was coming and she wanted him to know he was safe with her.

the show does a great job of showing that billie is well within her right to be upset at brodie for lying to her and cheating on her, but she also understands that brodie needs the support he always gave her, so even though there is an obvious shift in their relationship (her being uncomfortable being touched by him and making the same jokes they used to make) she still decides to be there for him and make sure david, peaches and mouse won’t tell anyone what they know.

and on that topic, it’s interesting that upon finding out the other now knows who they've been texting, both brodie and david assume the other is going to throw them under the bus. david panics that this is another football team prank and kelly’s already going to gossip about it - and brodie panics that david’s definitely told peaches, who’s for sure going to gossip about it.

“do we really have to be here? i knew i was texting a boy but... i just thought he was a nice boy? not some satanist like david frances…” “david frances is not a SATANIST! … PROBABLY!”

upon finding brodie and billie at the creek:

i wanna talk about brodie and david... look the point of the show is not the two-second-long sexting-based relationship between david and brodie. they both seem very okay with leaving it be and just respecting each other as friends and comrades as they go to live their own lives on their own terms. but god i really want to know if they talked about the anonymous texting. i want to know if they talked about being the only two gay men in town. i want to know if they talked at all. there’s this quiet understanding and respect between them as they sit next to each other and drink and just look at each other, really seeing each other for the first time, and i really want to know if there was anything more to that.

something so interesting during ‘another lover’ is that billie actually sits on the steps near the band and allows the queer characters to be up at the front welcoming brodie into their group as they all drink around the campfire together. she lets them have their moment of solidarity without intrusion. that’s something i really wasn’t expecting but it’s so beautiful to see.

something that’s also really important to note is that as much as billie lets the group have their moment of solidarity, they also take a step back and allow her to express her love for brodie as they part ways and allow her to have her moment of grief during ‘my favourite guy’. billie’s never had a consistent figure in her life and brodie was that for her. and he still is, but it’s so different now. as much as she understands and forgives and stands by him, she has been let down here, and she deserves to have a moment to mourn that nothing can go back to the way it was for them.

and this leads to another wonderful ‘billie is flawed but not BAD’ moment – when kelly calls her… oh my goodness billie just wants some support. and she still tries her best not to take it. She still tries to say everything is fine, her and brodie are still together, but Kelly is just not having it. ‘have you been crying? billie, just TELL me!’ ... look there’s no one left in billie’s life right now who she feels completely 100% comfortable in trusting. she doesn’t know david peaches and mouse that well, and she wants brodie to be supported, but she can’t confide her thoughts about him cheating on her and their break-up to the guy who cheated on her and who she broke-up with… so yes, naturally she seeks help in kelly. she trusts kelly, the girl who was always kind to her, supported her, chided their friends when they made pointed comments about her 'situation', so... kelly would never hurt her, would she?

“you know… you know that boy, david frances...? well-” “hey cowgirl, get over here!” “oh, right – sorry, kelly, i’ve got to – kelly…?” oh no.

“oh brodie was just telling us all what a crazy gun nut you are!” oh NO.

the hush that falls over them all when they realize billie carries. brodie doesn’t see anything wrong with it, of course – he knows billie, he knows she only goes shooting at the range in a controlled environment because it reminds her of her dad, he knows she’d never hurt anyone. but the way peaches goes dead silent and always keeps a hand on mouse, the way all three of them step so quietly and so warily around her…

when billie says “i can show you, if you want!” she means it with such good intentions, she just wants to share a skill she has with her friends – and mouse is so eager to touch the gun, probably through some teenage ‘guns are cool’ mentality, probably because they’re so unused to having power in their life, but peaches immediately yanks them back. “our fingerprints aren’t going on ANY firearms” oof… it’s like she’s playing it off as a joke, but… we know she's not, right?

but david… oh david is ENAMOURED by the gun… he treats it with such child-like wonder, this thing that could take a life when everyone around him tried so hard to take his. he’s nervous to use it, embarrassed when he misses, laughing awkwardly – and billie takes his hand, guides him to look down the barrel, to shoot true and HIT. she really does think she’s doing good. she really thinks she’s helping him take back some control in his life, because that's what shooting is for her.

We had just the reaction when nikolai announced the engagement and that liitle scene at the ending. We won? No. Not in a

milion years. They didn't make her justice. Here are some thoughts that are living rent free in my head and i need them to get them out.

First of all, I kinda like that they change a little bit Zoya plot line to helping the crows to find the sword and everyting and that's all of it. Also the thing that Nina said to her, god. Zoya would not what will hit her (if the show is renewed).

Now beggins the things that seemed not right and the ones that i didn't like.

She deserved more screenntime. I know that in the original trilogy she made some appearances here and there. She was know as the "mean girl", untouchable one, also powerful one. I know her story is bilding up, but i dont like it the way it does in the show. Like how they are gonna do the Kos plotline with Alina? No way this is gonna be good. Alina (again) stole everything of what Zoya should have. Deserved. My guess is that Nikolai is gonna transform slowly in that demon and Alina will try to get rid of it but she cant, so they choose Zoya to lock him away every night and here will start the rumors and the downfall. It s gonna be embarrassing for her. Yes, she will bear it, but for how long? It was different in Kos because Nikolai was single. Now she will be seen different. She is going to be general or whater else, she is going to act like she doesnt care about all the wispers and rumors that eventually they will reach Alina and Nikolai ears. I dont even dare to think what a mess is this for her. For our rightfull queen.

Secondly, Alina takes David place. Fuck her. The triumvirate was meaningful because they represent the 3 orders, not the Saint order. Wtf. Even if David wasn't that important in the plot line, but was important for the people who loved him, especially Genya, he shouldn't died so soon. What happens to his funeral? In the books (spoiler ahead for those who didn't read row) was a massing thing. I cried and sobbed for days. DAYS after I've read that chapter. How could they kill him that way?!?!?! HOW??? Alina takes too much credit for what she've done.

I have to calm myself after all of this mess. And yes Wylan, I'll accept that tea with pleasure.

so. finshed the demo. /sobs. our brothers!!! coming back to say: well i DONT like peter, but i think your desire was effective. he comes off as a complicated character. you gave a great example in your demo about his characters, writing something to the effect of: does he help to feel good about himself or because he really wants to help others?

did he leave bc he didnt care or because he was drowning and couldnt bring them with him (yet) -- ie put your oxygen mask on first. does he come back bc of guilt or something else? is it ALL OF IT AT ONCE?

i do think you gave hints that he cares, but that doesnt excuse what he did and doesnt mean his sibs have to forgive him. but i feel he's an interesting character and i do feel like there is affection there between the three, at the very lest.

I'm glad I was able to communicate that! Peter is definitely a wishy-washy character and MC's disappearance takes a toll on all of them, but definitely him and Johnathan for different reassons. MC really starts to reflect on their own family and their life back home during the story, so they can definitely feel resentment towards Peter over how he handled everything. I'm really glad you feel that way, means I did something right (a bit lolol).

One day, before Tombsteel and the Ironites came to Prettiopia, Florabelle invited Parfait to visit a field covered in roses. When Parfait asked why, Flora reveals she planted this entire field just for her and gives Parfait one of the roses to keep. Overcome with emotion, Parfait broke down crying. She tearily replied how she cant accept this because she doesnt deserve such a gift and that she feels she's a barely qualified princess. Florabelle had noticed her best friend's self deprecation but she never got the full story of why shes like this. So Flora presses her for answers on why she feels so negatively about herself all the time, Parfait confessed that ever since her mother died, she always felt like a burden. Here's some of the dialogue:

Ok a lot of writers who dont see into boosters soul can fall for his shallow persona and depict him being like stupid and ignorant of peoples feelings...just one specific example is that moment in dc vs vampires when jayna is crying and worried about her twin brother being missing and possibly died and hes like :) lol what if he just ran away from you because he doesnt like you? and everyones like DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hes like WHAT!!!! booster is an incredibly emotional and empathetic person to the point of even fucking him up and i think a good example of that is when he hung out with superman in his 86 solo and they went to go mess with alien politics. he was able to be tricked because he fell for a sob story and made some impulsive decisions superman had to slap him on the wrist for but as soon as he saw he was wrong he apologized and made things right (cry)

i mean i think most people (i hope) know that booster doesnt REALLY only care about showing off but it goes deeper than that....the quarterly with him and Geraldine...the entirety of booster gold 2007 being that he has to come to terms with losing his best friend to live for his family...he has such a big heart when he loves someone he loves them to DEATH!!!!!
