A gofundme scammer has messaged me on a side blog that I use to sort my likes, so there is 0 info, 0 personal posts, only reblogs. And I thought to myself “huh, the bots send messages now?!” and moved on with my life. He’s written TWO more messages over the last few days, trying to guilt me. Absolutely shameless behaviour. Im fine ignoring this shit, but I know so many people are way more vulnerable emotionally and would fall for this. Especially since they apparently target you privately now, in DMs.

I really, truly hope ANY money donated over tumblr ever reaches its promised destination, because some of the things I see are absolute shameless scams, using rotten guilt-techniques to raise THOUSANDS of dollars. It’s so infuriating and frustrating to see.

my friend siraj abudayeh (vetted on line 219), who i've posted about frequently, has been fundraising for his family's daily survival since june of this year. read more about him here, here, and here. follow him here: @siraj2024. he is a journalist who writes frequent updates about the situation in gaza, and it is always better to get the story from the source than filtered through a western lens.

as of about a week ago, he had raised over $90,000 CAD / $64,000 USD. he had withdrawn a portion of it to pay for various daily needs, medical care, and rent.

his fundraiser had been under investigation for a few weeks and the organizer, his cousin, even sent all of their government IDs to verify that they are real people.

despite this, gofundme deleted his fundraiser a week ago. he lost over $38,000 CAD ($27,000 USD). that is a monumental loss that would devastate anyone. but in gaza, it is the loss of a lifeline.

gofundme has a pattern of baselessly investigating and terminating fundraisers benefiting palestinians, often waiting until the campaign has reached the end of its goal to terminate it and refund all donors, leaving the refugees in the dust.

in the hopes of continuing to keep his family alive while unchecked capitalism and gang violence in gaza are on the rise, and in the midst of constant bombardment, displacement, and death, siraj has opened another gofundme. this fundraiser is in his sister's name, and is being organized by a trusted friend of his who lives abroad. we hope it will not be met with the same fate as the old one.

When I asked what he wanted people to know about his family's situation, he immediately answered "the bitter cold".

Can you imagine being in this situation? Made homeless where the stores are no longer getting consistent deliveries and might be bombed, the government is barely operating cuz it keeps getting bombed, there's not even charity getting into your besieged area, and most people's jobs—including your big brother's—have been bombed beyond repair?

Where it's getting so cold and you CAN'T get warm because you're relying on strangers to help you get that coat or blanket, or bc you need the little money that trickles in to just survive??

And can you imagine living this way for OVER A YEAR as a normal teenager who has a little brother and a baby niece with malnutrition to stress about too?

I know people are tired of hearing about Gaza. It's upsetting that this genocide has continued so long with so few powerful people even trying to stop it. But we have a responsibility to our fellow humans, to help them survive persecution.

Nader is seventeen. None of this should be on his shoulders. Please help his family be safe so he can stop feeling like it's his job to make sure his family has what they need.

He needs to pay his registration fees of €3,000 for the semester by the hard, final deadline of Sep 6.

To be cautious, I've set the deadline to 12am in Qatar, which is 74 hours from when I'm writing this post.

The school has already offered him multiple extensions and this is the last they're willing to give.

If Mohammed fails to reach this goal, he'll lose his academic opportunities and be deported back to Gaza (which he worked hard to escape and is very dangerous right now).

The ADL is an Israeli/Zionist advocacy group at its core. It's main priority as an organization is to protect Israel and its mission for a Jewish Ethno-State. This is especially true under Johnathan Greenblatt's leadership who has said "antizionism is antisemitism" It's easy to think that the "Anti Defamation League" has no underlying agenda given its history as a "civil rights organization" but it has constantly used that as a screen for extremely right wing positions on Israel. Some of their greatest hits include: Equating Students for Justice in Palestine, JVP, and CAIR to "white supremacists" simply because they strongly oppose an ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. A leaked ADL memo revealing how ADL plans to "soften" the news to Americans that Israel plans to annex the West Bank. (Source). In this leak Greenblatt recognizes that the annexation is a violation of basic human rights. To me this is a clear indication that they are less concerned with civil rights and more concerned with shaping the public image of Israel, especially in the US. Really urge you all to read this leak! Supported South African Apartheid (surprise surprise) and participated in propaganda against Nelson Mandela and the ANC. They even employed a spy named Roy Bullock to infiltrate the anti-apartheid campaign in the US. They later settled a law suit for this. (Source) That's not even close to the only time they've utilized spies. THIS recent leak of Greenblatt talks about ADL having spies in Jewish Voice for Peace and other organizations. It also talks about how they are having a hard time with the global youth no longer buying into their propaganda. Another source you should give your full attention to. PLEASE listen to that whole thing. It's truly terrifying. You're gonna hear them talk a lot about why Tiktok is a danger to their mission.

HERE is an article about how the ADL has a long history of smearing black activists, working with Police/ICE, and its attempts to demonize the BDS movement. I could go on and on about how terrible and deceitful the ADL is. The sources above are a good start to understanding why we shouldn't trust the ADL but please look into all the other things they've done like working with the FBI to spy on Arab Americans, infiltrating student organizations they find to be a threat to "Israel's image", surveillance, the people who fund/donate to them etc.

The best way to fight orgs like this is to share/spread this info as much as you can. It's clearly working because they're losing global support especially with the youth.

Since the beginning of the war, we have been completely dependent on aid because I lost my job, which was my only source of income. Throughout the period of the crossing’s closure, we have been eating from the aid stock that used to reach us before the crossing’s closure. Now we have only one option, which is to buy expensive food. How to be a Solar Punk (And a Leftist) ☀️🌱:

1) Stop buying fast fashion and boycott.

I use Depop, Etsy to support small businesses, and you can purchase from small businesses or organizations via other channels. You can also transform your clothing. If a t-shirt is too small, make it a crop top or wear a long shirt underneath! Also look up boycott lists (e.g. BDS movement list) so you know which companies you can or cannot support.

2) Censor and Spread.

Carry around a sharpie or a tube of paint to cover ignorant (e.g. racist) graffiti and scribbles. (I’m not going to refer to it as art). You can also spread information via graffiti.

3) Reuse and Recycle.

I use grocery bags as garbage bags, tin cans to hold things, boxes from online orders, you can even get more creative and make pins out of bottle tops!

4) Get involved physically (if possible).

Volunteer to help people who are lower income, get involved in “beautifying” the community (e.g. displaying the cultural backgrounds of the community, gardening, and protesting).

5) Get involved online.

I sign and repost GoFundMe campaigns, donate what I can, and post information regarding current events. Don’t be apolitical. This is a leftist ideology.

6) Educate yourself.

Go to trusted sources to educate yourself on facts regarding certain matters so you can dispute false claims. There are many PDFs online, podcasts, and overall resources you should take advantage of to increase your awareness and to also help develop a better understanding of those who need your help. Education is what will set us free.

7) Support your local library.

There are so many resources and programs they offer that people are not aware of. And because people are not aware of them they are shut down and underfunded. People who can’t afford computers need to have them available free at cost. Not only to enjoy them leisurely but to do things like job search. Children also have reading assignments which brings them to the library, seeing activities and programs they offer children will help to cultivate a love for learning. The next generations are our future.

8) Learn languages and about cultures.

Certain issues are not limited to certain communities or areas. We need to unite in order to make an impact that will enact change. You will also understand how to positively influence certain people that would otherwise not be receptive due to a different communication style.

9) Take care of your mental health.

“A sick person cannot help a sick person.” -AA saying

You also need to take care of yourself because, simply, you are valuable. Being healthily selfish exists.

10) Be confident.

We unfortunately have to enter spaces that will make us uncomfortable and it will be difficult to be vocal, but it is necessary. In this area, focus on practicing efficient communication methods and building your self-confidence.

11) Confront your own bias.

Everyone is biased in some way shape or form. It is our job to rid ourselves of these biases. Take moral inventory (as they say in 12-step programs) and analyze areas you need to work on.

12) Credit artists and writers.

Being an artist and/or writer should not be a struggling profession. They are an integral part of our society. It’s easy to forget, especially when we take so many screenshots a day, so keep this in mind! I sometimes forget so I can attest it’s not the end of the world but it is a good habit to form.

13) Be anti-A.I.

It is not possible to incorporate A.I. into a leftist environment. It inherently promotes late-stage capitalism.

I've known Alex for going on three months, but if that isn't enough for people to trust the legitimacy, her fundraiser has been vetted by multiple Tumblr accounts with blogs dedicated to vetting fundraisers. I have also seen the current photos of her arm, which cannot be posted on Instagram or 1 will get my account restricted (or taken down) for posting 'gore’. The photos in the fundraiser are from August. I cannot overemphasise how much worse it's gotten. She is going to need it amputated. She had surgery a couple days after Christmas and has not fully woken up since. She gave her account to her little brother, Vin, who I have been in contact with ever since. Vin just turned 18 and is currently in charge of securing things for his mom and younger sister while his older sister is in the hospital. Alex and Vin lost their dad around the same time my brother and I lost ours, and that's one of the first things Alex and I connected over. I've been doing everything I can to support Alex, and now Vin, but ultimately, because of the world we live in, there is no replacement for money.

we still need $1,900 immediately. Hopefully before the 24th so we wouldn't have to wait for another distant yet available date some time in April or June. We cannot wait that much longer. Not with this lack of funds and her health deteriorating.

Someone donated $1k a week ago, and all of it was spent on medication that needed to be purchased outside of the hospital because the in-house pharmacy doesn't have them at the mean time. We have a lot of meds/fees that piled on since the 25th of February.

All I have now is $105 here but this wouldn't last for a week. We have been rejected in all our loan applications.

before the escalation of the genocidal war on October 7th, Abd worked as a lawyer, with his own advocacy bureau set up in a commercial building in Gaza City. his instagram is full of pictures of him at work, traveling, or enjoying a peaceful time at shopping malls and restaurants in Gaza, and of his young family members. on his gofundme campaign page, however, you can find photographic evidence of his family's current life in displacement.

so far, Abd's campaign has received $633 CAD out of $60,000 CAD goal.

Some tips on how to spot scammers‼️

These scams can be under the pretext for *getting medication*/*getting a group of people to a safer location* or whatever new variations that may pop up in the future!

Not all of these are telltale signs that the person is a scammer but just some things I have seen in common. Make sure to always do your own research first before reporting/reblogging!

1a. Their accounts are barely a week old and has liked nothing much but posts of people answering positively to their scams sent to your inbox

1b. Only liking/reblogging posts related to the scam they're trying to sell

2. Linking a *go fund me* but it actually leads you to their paypal account under a different name

3. Lack of precise information/vagueness. Their last few lines are always along the lines of; please donate/help where possible because all they care about is money!

4. You've interacted; reblogged/liked/commented with whatever content recently so they send you their stolen paragraph from an actual person who's in need of help. eg. Charity, free Gaza

5a. Inconsistent pronouns being used eg. Sometimes using 'i' and then switching to "them" or "they"

5b. In addition to inconsistent pronouns, there could also be randomly placed quotation or exclamation marks - meaning they copied it from someone

6. You could also try reverse google searching the images/paragraph they use by simply putting quotation mark followed by the paragraph eg. "paragraph"

7. Copying the paragraph and pasting it on Tumblr search. You'll instantly find proof by looking at others posts

8. Always check against a vetted source to know if their account is reliable

Always report scammers posts and accounts too!

As always, don't be so trusting/gullible of everything you see online! Always check its legitimacy before liking/reblogging or asking others to help them out!

Not everyone is a scammer, but it's important donations go to people who actually need it!!

General masterlist

Night fell, luring all the nocturnal creatures and secrets hidden in the shadows to come out. Wind carried distant sounds of lupine howls and unspoken threats, but you weren't scared of any possible danger hidden in the darkness. Not when Captain Kaeya was right by your side.

In those uncertain days many Teyvat citizens slept with knives and guns under their pillows. You preferred to hide in protective embrace of one of the best knights in Mondstadt and you felt perfectly safe surrounded by his arms. How could you not?

When he looked at you as if you were the last thing keeping him sane, precious ray of hope falling on him like blessing from Celestia just so he can dirty it with his hands of a sinner. It that why he always touched you so gently in those quiet hours? Trembling fingertips caressed your cheek and traced the shape of your lips.

Oh, how you loved those hands. Big and slightly rough from practicing swordsmanship his whole life, cold but still welcoming. Every callous reminded you of his strength and courage, making you proud of him. Kissing over his knuckles was a sure way to make Kaeya blush, but despite turning his gaze away from you he never took his palm away from your soft lips.

It was so hard for him to trust, to open up to somebody after all he went through - abandonment by his biological father, then being abandoned by his brother as soon as Kaeya dared to show his true self. He learned the hard way that the acceptance he was craving could only be given at the price of constantly wearing a mask until he no longer knew who he truly was.

Then you entered his life and he could no longer pretend, not when you always seemed to gaze through his countless masks, right into his soul. Your insight used to give him anxiety but it later became his greatest source of comfort. You saw who he really was inside and didn't consider him a monster. You taught him there was more to him then curse his people had to eternally bear. There was love like no other in the way he took care of children and elders of Mondstadt, chased the wind over it's dandelion fields or honored tradition of this land that took him in with open arms. So much love.

Kaeya didn't even notice when he started to need you. It felt so natural, so good to finally be himself around somebody, to let go of the mask that he mistook for his own face years ago. Then he got greedy. He couldn't sleep well enough if you weren't near, ready to hold this little boy he still had deep inside of himself when nightmares took over his dreams.

Your love didn't conquer his heart like a storm or broke through his defences forcefully, it fell over him gently like summer rain, washing away the dirt on his hands and painted smiles from his face. Tender and cleansing, with soft but unyielding power of water it filled all those little cracks in walls he build around his heart and spilled into his soul, bringing life back to him.

Kaeya didn't knew words big enough to show you his gratitude, so the two of you held each other in silence. His gaze was softer then it ever was in front of people, full of vulnerability. Inhaling your scent, he allowed himself to let go of heavy burden he was born with just for tonight. His beautiful, piercing eye closed, and with the final kiss to your temple he drifted away into sleep. For the first time in years he slept through the night without a single nightmare.
