so you wanna start a blog? in this post i’ll break down effective ways to start, manage and maintain a blog (from my own experience of course) i hope u find this helpful ✨

TOPIC AND IDEA ; 

to have a blog you need an idea or concept about what your blog will be about. make your blog about either something that you know a lot about/are proficient in.

or blog about something that u are learning about as a way to track ur progress and learn new information. you could blog about something that you love a lot etc etc. 

AESTHETIC ; 

what is your aesthetic? for me it’s hyper feminine and pink and just DIVINE. when u choose and stick to an aesthetic it’ll give ur blog kind of a signature which is important for the rest of this post. 

when u have an aesthetic in mind for ur blog make sure that you have plenty of pins on pinterest that mesh nicely with ur aesthetic so u can find things like headers, dividers, photos and emojis that suit the aesthetic of ur blog. 

RESOURCES ; 

pinterest is my holy grail for resources. there u can find headers and photos to use in ur posts to give ur audience something visually pleasing to look at while they read ur post. 

what ur gonna want to start off ur blog aesthetic and theme is ; 

a header 

a color scheme (for coloring/bolding words. and the colors for ur blog page in general)

an informative bio 

a pfp

START OFF POST IDEAS ; 

if u want to run a well organized blog there are a couple posts that i think are beneficial for u to make. in fact the most important post that i think any blog should have is a MASTERLIST.

master lists are great for a multitude of things. they help ur audience to navigate ur blog easier and see all that you have to offer in one convenient tap of their finger. plus when u make navigating ur blog easy, more people will experience ur content which will mean more interactions with ur post.

not only does it help the audience but it also helps u to know what u did and didn’t post, so that u can plan effectively for the future. it’s also a fun way to see how much u posted. i recommend making a new masterlist every year or when you can’t put any more links onto it 💀. if u want a reference for a good masterlist you can check out mine right here.

CONSISTENCY ; 

consistency is key in anything and everything and blogging is no exception. i recommend not blogging in a competitive nature, rather i think in order to be consistent with something like a blog you should genuinely just do it for funsies/passion and as a way to have ur own authentic creative outlet.

i don’t have a set posting schedule bcuz i don’t want blogging to feel like a chore when in reality it’s just a hobby that happened to gain an audience because people enjoyed it. and because people enjoy what i write, it in return makes me happy and wanna write more.

SIGNATURE ; 

i cannot stress this enough but when u have a platform whether it’s small or big individuality sets you apart! have something that sets u apart like personalized hash-tags, a way that u talk, etc etc. 

personalize hash-tags with things like emojis. also, USE UR HASHTAGS because when someone looks up something like “self improvement” your post will be what they see if u add those hashtags.

furthermore if u personalize those hashtags it sets u apart and gives ur blog a kind of brand and individuality in a way. like a signature at the end of a post.

mashle au where lemon actually does more than like 2 things 💔💔

the thing about her magic is that (if it’s strength trained) it has SO MUCH POTENTIAL????

like, i feel like if she’d worked/trained with a dv or someone she could’ve made levios SO USEFUL

levios is already strong as is. when she puts the cuffs on mash in episode 2, she says the bonds are unbreakable. granted, mash breaks them immediately, but also that’s mash so he’s just like that. assuming that her cuffs truly are incredibly difficult to break with average strength and magic, the versatility she has would make her decently stronger than finn, and yet we don’t see any of that.

because, while on one hand, levios isn’t exactly an offensive magic, she’d still be INCREDIBLY useful working in a pair. alongside that, it’s likely she can control chains in general, meaning she could whoop some real ass using strong chains as weapons. even if she can’t do that, though, being able to temporarily detain an opponent for even just a moment and allowing her partner a window of time for attack could make the difference between life or death given the circumstances.

i understand she wasn’t with the group near the end due to being with mash, which is honestly very important that she was there bc ochoa’s bitchass would’ve given mash up the SECOND the guy with the dog showed up, and she was important for dealing with that guy in general, but like? earlier things?? she totally could’ve been a dv candidate?? the other 4 were all candidates, so why couldn’t she have been one?

watch her cuff a deadervant to avoid getting attacked or chased while getting a key! watch her whip a chain at someone’s crystal to eliminate them without even getting close! idk what she’d be doing when innozero showed up but she’d be doing something!!!!!

she could’ve gotten in fights! she could’ve WON fights!

it’s fine that her time in the magia lupus arc was spent being taken by abel. that works for the plot! she could’ve been caught off guard and captured! but she had opportunities for significance SO MANY TIMES later on and just. didn’t do anything.

it’s not like it’d affect anything negatively by her being a candidate either! frankly she had MORE reason for it than dot did. finn i get because of rayne, lance and mash are obvious, dot just?? was a candidate?? i guess?? his character motives in general have no real tie to becoming a divine visionary. on the other hand, lemon becoming a dv would have benefited her family SO MUCH, i think it’s quite likely she’d want to go for it. but she didn’t?

my point is, lemon had insane potential as a fighter and a significant character, and it’s absolutely tragic how disregarded she is. i get she wasn’t even supposed to exist in the first place, but DUDE. if you’re gonna write a female character, at least TRY to write her even REMOTELY as well as the rest of your cast??? hajime komoto my king i enjoy your work so so dearly but if (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO) you write another manga, learn how to write women!! it would benefit you so much!!!!!!

Every living bug has a personal scent - a blend of pheromones that generally acts as a personal "name", or "voice", in pheromonal communication. In social bugs, this tends to be stronger. As communication via pheromone is extremely species-specific, learning to manipulate them in more detail than some basic altering your expression of any given emotion tends to be something of a niche skill set, particularly among solitary bugs. It's most commonly learned for in-species communication, or by the bugs responsible for putting up pheromone signage in social-bug-heavy areas, but also has some fairly wide utility in less legal manners.

As pheromones are highly specific by bug, a bug of one species may have significant difficulty parsing the pheromones of a bug of another species. While social bugs in hives and colonies generally have something of an instinctive grasp of what various pheromones mean, and will often pick them up as part of communication among themselves, solitary bugs tend to be significantly less sensitive to them, and may struggle to distinguish between similar pheromone signals even if they know what both mean.

As a consequence of this, the vast majority of signage within a hive or colony can be wholly illegible to a solitary bug, even if it is perfectly clear to the hive's inhabitants. Bugs with reduced sensitivity to key pheromones used in social signalling can also suffer from this, particularly in places where pheromone signage can be important to operation. While these can be learned over time, unfortunately, it isn't always enough to make up for the social impacts.

Though it is possible to learn to suppress your personal scent, it isn't a widely distributed skill, and it's associated with criminals more than anything else - on a similar level to learning to lockpick, it's a cool trick to show off that also has a solid chance of getting your coworkers to ask you if you've stolen anything recently. Though suppression can make your scent more subtle, it can't eliminate it entirely, and most bugs who are seriously concerned about hiding their identities will wear some sort of masker to confuse their scent.

Monsieur Scarlet, due to a side effect of his personal flavor of mage, is capable of cutting off his own pheromone production entirely, or selectively shutting off specific pheromones. To other bugs, this will smell uncannily "blank". Since pheromones are still the main means through which bugs will communicate emotions, even beyond being a personal identifier, it's sort of like someone's face... slipped off, and there was just a void where it used to be.

Along with his short-range teleportation tricks, this makes him very good at slipping a tail, but also works against him in being an extremely distinctive trait that's very prone to freaking people out. Generally, you don't stop producing your personal pheromones until you die- but he's not producing a dead-ant smell, and he's very clearly up and moving, just lacking any personal scent. It's prone to tripping a sense that something is horribly, unnaturally wrong. Also, it's not very good for his body to stop making a bunch of major compounds. Generally, he'll opt more for things like cutting out stress pheromones than taking out everything.

your post about only communicating the minimum needed reminded me of the gricean maxims (concept in linguistics describing how people communicate)! your advice was very similar to the maxim of quantity :)
