hey has anyone been talking about egwene recently bc I really think we should be. I Really Think We Should Be. bc she’s so fucking fascinating and plays this really cool thematic role in conjunction w/Bev and erlin and also she’s called the lady snake. you guys there’s an insane 19 y/o girl called the lady snake why aren’t we talking about this every day for the rest of time.

Egwene Headcanons! I also forgot about her and then love her immediately

Oooh Egwene. That’s a hard one.

She really takes to the cool plants and poisons that can be found in the Crick. She never moves there full time but often does go for resupplies and is there every few months.

She goes on a lot of adventures into her mid-thirties, exploring the living woods and spending some time in the Feywild.

Eventually she meets a Crick elf woman, one who has a similar love of danger as she does, and they fall for each other hard and fast. When they do get married, quietly, they move to Hill Home, and she finally relaxes.

They have a couple of kids and she stops adventuring completely. She never wanted to put her kids in the position she and her brother were in.

She opens an apothecary, which eventually franchises. It’s run by her granddaughter now, and it’s one of the few places that can still combat mothership’s monopoly.

Sobbing after my 5th relisten to NADDpod C1, can we just give all the roses to Brian Murphy for the absolutely gorgeous characterizations of the NPCs as it relates to the central theme of free will.

I’m so in love with Egwene, Lucanus, Erlin, and Erdan; I genuinely can’t get enough of them. They’re all so devastating in their own individual ways, especially the Kindleafs and Erdan, and their connections to both the PCs and each other absolutely devastated me. The theme of choice is so beautifully demonstrated through the different chosen families formed, particularly as a result of the various upbringings within the cast of characters.

The Kindleafs lost their parents and were raised by their Nana, only to end up on a simpler path to Beverly, by joining up with their adventuring party to protect those who were supposed to raise them. Egwene was a little more solitary but found comfort in protecting Erlin and realized that Red and Gunther found comfort in protecting her. She understands that Erlin would be devastated if Beverly got injured to save Erlin, so against her knee-jerk instincts, she tells Beverly to protect himself before saving Erlin because she would rather face the pervasive feeling of losing someone you love than subject Erlin to it.

Erdan lost his parents while he was in university in a truly tragic way with a more tragic aftermath, but he was able to find comfort in Lucanus; even when Erdan brutally pushed Lucanus away and seemingly temporarily lost his ease with magic, Lucanus and Erdan always had each other backs, with Erdan’s continuous support of Lucanus’ decisions through taking up unconventional leadership positions despite evident hesitation and anxiety.

On the more neutral side of things, Melora and Telaine’s relationship demonstrates the fine live of neutrality to passivity and the necessity of multi-faceted thinking to prove that the creation of a false dichotomy, and it’s just so hhgghvb

The characterization of the BBEGs is also insane but it’s 5 AM, so I’ll follow up later because I am soo casually in love with Brian Murphy
