Into the Dungeon with You
Pairing: Jinwoo x Reader
Genre: RomCom, Action, Future Smut
Warning: Description of violence and profanity.
Summary: Jinwoo frowned as a new system notification appeared before him.
[Special Reward Successfully Claimed.]
Author's note: I'm happy that some of you are enjoying my silly work! Yes, if you're asking to be tagged—sure! 😊
Tumblr media
Chapter 6
Jinwoo took a step forward. The battered boss, still recovering from Y/N’ unexpected punch, growled low in its throat. But it was slow now. Sloppy. The perfect opening.
Jinwoo took charge again, moving with new focus. His shadows rallied under the boost from Y/N. Bellion sliced through the boss monster’s legs. Beru tore into its throat. Tank pounced, pinning it down, while Tusk finished with a barrage of spells.
With a swift motion, Jinwoo’s dagger cut through the air. “Perish”
Finally, the boss monster collapsed, shuddering, and dissolved into shadows.
The dungeon was silent.
Except for Y/N, still staring at her fist.
Jinwoo exhaled and turned his attention to the System Notifications floating in front of him. His eyes flicked from one glowing window to another, carefully analyzing the data.
⟪ SPECIAL REWARD UNLOCKED: Y/N ⟫ ⟪ ABILITY REVIEW - Shadow Resonance: Ability to amplify and evolve the Shadow Monarch's summoned forces through emotional command. Buffs and evolution can be triggered without direct contact.
(Current Trigger: Emotional intensity and focused attention on the shadow in question.) ⟫
⟪ ABILITY REVIEW - Combat Synchronization: Temporarily synchronizes the user’s entire physical, magical, and combat instincts with the Shadow Monarch. Grants access to abilities, combat reflexes, and stats at the Monarch’s current level.
(Current Trigger: Triggered by protective instincts or threat response. Control can be mastered over time.) ⟫
⟪ ABILITY REVIEW - Shadow Manifestation: Can manifest the will and combat essence of fallen warriors not yet turned into shadows. Summons display peak strength and combat mastery.
(Current Trigger: Pending… Skill locked.) ⟫
Jinwoo sighed, a smirk tugging at his lips. “She really is something.”
He remembered when he first claimed her as a reward, standing in that cave wondering if the system had scammed him. A clueless woman in shorts and a loose shirt was not what he expected from a ‘special reward’.
And yet— Now, here she was. Upgrading his army, punching monsters through dungeon walls, and accidentally unlocking skills he hadn’t even dreamed of.
Jinwoo shook his head, amused. “System, you sneaky bastard.”
Y/N, still marveling at the size of Beru’s claws nearby, was startled when Jinwoo called her over. “Y/N.” “Huh? Yes, boss—I mean, Jinwoo?” She scrambled over, wiping imaginary dust off her hands. “Sit.” He gestured to a rock. She plopped down without argument.
Jinwoo crossed his arms, staring at her like a teacher about to explain quantum physics to a student who just learned basic math.
Jinwoo pointed at Igris, who stood tall nearby, his newly upgraded form gleaming in the dim dungeon light. “When you cheered for Igris earlier, you evolved him. Made him stronger without touching him.” Y/N’ mouth fell open. “I did that?” Jinwoo nodded. “You also knocked out a high-tier monster back when we first met.” Her expression shifted from awe to disbelief. Y/N looked at her hands like they had secret nuclear codes embedded in the fingertips. “Oh my god…” “Yeah, I panicked!” she huffed, crossing her arms. “Exactly. That panic triggered Combat Synchronization.”
Y/N squinted. “So… if I get scared, I become strong?” Jinwoo shrugged. “Fear, instinct, emotions—maybe at will, it’s complicated. But yes, you sync with me. My stats become your stats.” Y/N sat there for a moment, then broke into a slow grin. Jinwoo laughed quietly under his breath. “I almost thought you were a scam.” “HEY!” Y/N smacked his arm. “But now,” he continued, smirking at her outrage, “you’re one of the best things to happen to my army.”
Y/N glowed at the praise but tried to play it cool. “Oh, you know… I aim to please.” Jinwoo stood, offering his hand to her. “Come on. Let’s see how much more we can unlock.” Y/N grabbed his hand, standing up with a grin. “Let’s go, boss!” Jinwoo raised an eyebrow. “You’re not getting paid.” She shrugged. “Fine, but I want snacks after this.” “Deal.”
Y/N wasn’t done. “And if I synchronize with you, I can totally copy your cool moves, right? I can, like, do those shadow teleports, and the dagger flips, and maybe even the brooding stare!” She immediately attempted the brooding stare. It looked more like she needed to sneeze.
Jinwoo watched in silence.
After clearing the dungeon, Jinwoo finally called it a day. Y/N was still buzzing with energy, practically skipping beside him as they exited the gate.
She was mid-ramble, waving her arms around. “—wait! Did you see me ran so fast to punch that terrifying boss? Olympic level! I deserve a medal! Or, like, I dunno, at least a chocolate bar.”
Jinwoo glanced sideways at her. “…Ice cream.”
Y/N froze mid-step. “What?”
He kept walking. “You want ice cream?” “Are you serious?!” She practically tripped over her own feet catching up to him. “Sung Jinwoo… is treating me… to ice cream?!”
Jinwoo’s expression didn’t change, but he tilted his head in that subtle way. “You’ve been… less useless today,” he said flatly. “That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.” She clutched her chest dramatically.
They found a small street vendor not far from the raid site. Jinwoo handed over some cash without much thought, and the vendor—clearly recognizing him—stared in awe as Korea’s strongest hunter bought two cones like it was totally normal.
Y/N picked the most colorful one. Rainbow sprinkles. Chocolate chips. Something that sparkled. Jinwoo took plain vanilla. Classic.
She looked at his cone, then hers. “Boring choice for a Monarch of Shadows.” Jinwoo raised an eyebrow. “I don’t need sprinkles to be strong.”
Y/N grinned and bumped her cone gently against his like a toast. “To surviving another day!” “…To surviving,” he agreed, taking a slow bite like it was a combat exercise.
That night, Jinwoo finally allowed himself some rest.
For once, Y/N wasn’t bribing his shadows to evolve in exchange for favors. Definitely not. Especially not Igris—he already evolved! No, Y/N was more like… collecting debts. And right now, she was cashing in by ordering Igris to sit still while she braided his hair antenna and tied a cute little ribbon at the end.
Jinwoo let out an exhausted sighed and went to his room.
He closed his eyes.
And he dreamed.
He stood in a vast, endless space of darkness. Not his shadow world—something older. Colder. He recognized it. The place where Ashborn once reigned. Where he had spoken to Jinwoo for the first time.
And there, ahead of him… Ashborn stood.
But this time, Jinwoo wasn’t alone. A figure appeared next to him. Small compared to the massive shadow monarch… but standing without fear. Y/N.
She was staring straight at Ashborn. And Ashborn… Ashborn was nodding at her. Like he had chosen her. Like he was pleased.
A voice echoed in Jinwoo’s head.
“The successor… must not stand alone.” “The monarch must have an anchor.” “She is the anchor.”
And then Jinwoo’s shadows appeared around them—an endless army—but they weren’t looking at Jinwoo.
They bowed to Y/N.
Jinwoo sat bolt upright in bed. He was sweating. He checked his system. Nothing. Checked his shadows. Still there. But there was… something.
He summoned Bellion.
Bellion appeared, kneeling immediately. “My Liege.”
“What did you find?” Jinwoo asked. His voice was tight. Bellion lowered his head. “The reward… the woman. She was chosen by Ashborn.” “…What?” Jinwoo’s pulse pounded in his ears. “Before his fall, our king chose her. As a safeguard. In case his successor failed… or stood alone.”
Jinwoo exhaled slowly, piecing it together. Ashborn had made preparations beyond just him.
Bellion’s next words were heavier still. “She holds potential not even you have yet unlocked. But she is… untrained. Untested.”
Jinwoo rubbed his face. Great. Perfect. His “special reward” wasn’t just a clueless fangirl —she was a living contingency plan. A wild card. And she had zero idea about it.
He found her in the kitchen the next morning. She was pouring cereal into a bowl, casually humming the Attack on Titan theme under her breath. But then—she couldn’t hold it back anymore. The hype hit her like a titan charging the wall. She dropped her spoon with a dramatic clatter, slammed her fist over her chest in a perfect Scout Regiment salute, and shouted at full volume, “Sasageyo! Sasageyo! Shinzou wo sasageyo!”
Jinwoo stared at her for a long moment. This was the person Ashborn had chosen. This was his… anchor?
Y/N looked up. “Morning! Want cereal?”
Jinwoo kept staring. Y/N tilted her head. “Uh… you okay?”
He finally sighed and turned away. “Fine. Cereal.”
She smiled brightly and handed him a bowl like they were two roommates, not a Monarch and a supposed cosmic contingency plan.
She doesn’t know. She has no idea. She thinks this is just some adventure or dream or… something. Ashborn picked her. As a safeguard. A partner? And she’s over there dunking Choco Pebbles into milk like it’s the best thing in the world.
Jinwoo ate his cereal in silence.
Beru materialized in the shadows behind him. “My Liege. Shall we inform the young lady of her destiny?”
Jinwoo took a long bite of cereal. Chewed. Swallowed. “No.”
Beru tilted his head.
“Not yet,” Jinwoo added. “She’s not ready. And neither am I.”

Instead of working on anything substantial, I've crafted an elaborate family and backstory for modern/teacher AU Enjolras....I bestow him my greatest gift (complicated relationship with his parents ❤️)
Read more about his family below! Warning for long post:
Maximillien Enjolras + Kim Eun-ji (김은지)
= Eun-bin (은빈) Enjolras ((<- this is our Enjolras))
Korean mother, French father. They met in Korea when Enjolras Sr. was sent to work as a military diplomat, and they raised Enjolras there for a few years.
Mother was an activist who fought for women’s and workers’ rights. To this day, Enjolras is still confused how his radical, leftist mother fell in love with a government official. (Spoiler: they fought. A lot.)
During his doljabi ceremony, he grabbed a toy gavel, though really only to smack another baby’s head with it. Still, that excited his parents, who thinks he will be a great judge or police detective upholding justice one day (Spoiler: upholding justice, yes, but very clearly not on the side of the government)
Loved reading and being read to. The earliest memories Enjolras had of his father are of him reading Palmer’s Twelve Who Ruled to him. Not to be beat out, his mother read Hwang et. al.’s Gwangju Uprising to him. This is why Enjolras turned out the way he is.
Family immigrated when Enjolras was 4. Mother wanted to keep Enjolras’ Korean name on his documents, but his father kept trying to dissuade her, saying that it'll just make life harder for Enjolras. Tried to downplay his mother’s arguments that cultural names are important by saying “no one looks at these stupid papers anyways”, to which his mother promptly stole and set fire to half of his father’s papers before he could stop her.
When Enjolras asked how she never got into legal trouble, she snorted and said his father knew damn well he'd never be able to raise him as a single father, and so let the incident slide. Enjolras remains Eun-bin Enjolras on his official documents ‘til this day.
Father was barely home, so Enjolras latched onto his mother. She basically raised him as a mini version of her, and embedded in him much of the values and beliefs he still holds onto. He helped to prep mutual aid packages, seal letters written to their local ministers, take notes for his mother while she was on calls, etc.
However, Enjolras and his mother began to butt heads more often once he got older and gained an actual personality that wasn’t just his mother’s. His views on queer rights, immigration, the incarceration system, etc. deviated from her more conservative stances, and when two very similar and very stubborn people begin to fight…yeah, it caused quite a rift.
Father suddenly died when Enjolras was 17. Too busy with his final year of school and college applications and liaising with external clubs and societies, Enjolras never found the proper time to grieve. ‘Til today, Enjolras can't properly articulate how he feels about his father, and wonders if his father would even like him the way that he is now.
With his mother, their relationship continued to be fairly rocky through university and took quite a dive when he had to spend some time in jail right after university. After that, he moved out and began working as a teacher so that he can have his own finances and space (“his own space” like he isn’t quite literally living with his boss and his boss’ family)
Over time however, he and his mother began mending their relationship, the distance and time apart helping them both. He calls her every week, she learns a lot more about Enjolras’ world through her own research, and they fight a lot less often.
Enjolras finally brings Grantaire over during Seollal and his mother LOVES him; she thinks he will help temper Enjolras (HAH…). Grantaire’s a little afraid because uh oh, now there’s two incredibly intense and strong-willed Enjolrai in his life, and oh no, she’s already roping him into helping with her causes…😨

A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer—capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. A robot can be guided by an external control device, or the control may be embedded within. But they can act independently if their creators allow it.
( English is not my first language )
Day 3 : robot!yuu
In a world full of technology and robots. Robot!yuu was the number one idol during that time and was in the number one group of the century ; vocaloid, imagine during the middle of a performance one of their solo concerts, a black carriage arrived and they suddenly shut down.
They turned on when it was an orientation ceremony. Since robot!yuu isn't technically an organic being, they would be put between the ignihyde dorm or ramshackle.
After Crowley gave them a cellphone or asked idia if he could do maintenance to connect them to social media of twisted wonderland, by doing this they started to upload their albums towards the internet and it blew up, people are loving it, it's getting headlines about a new genre of music, and the music getting about stream by millions around the world, Robot!yuu created a genre of music. A revaluation towards the music Industry.
This managed robot!yuu to get rich overnight and allowed them to buy more expensive and to fix the ramshackle dorm more to get more expensive technology for their maintenance, Robot!yuu was planning on giving half of the money to Crowley as a thanks but he only received 1/4 half of the money.
Even tho robot! yuu is an idol, their master builds them with an offensive and defensive system, they have extremely tough metal that is hard to find as well an offensive mode, they have a lot on their arsenal attacks, energy beams, rocket launchers, shield mode, and more.
They are also able to connect to any device and hack it without any issue, they manage to hack ignihyde technology without an issue. And they are waterproof
Robot!yuu also can digest and drink things without an issue, they have a special component on their stomach to make sure they can digest things normally.
During VDC they dominated the competition. Lasers, mist appears and light sticks wave around for their presence. They change outfits depending on the song, it was literally a Miku concert.
Congratulations neige Leblanc is now one of their fans, when going down the stage, he literally ran towards you and started asking a billion of questions with stars amongst their eyes
Vil was a little sour but also amazed about robot!yuu performance, he would ask them for choreography and music ideas from them as well as fashion opinions. He originally wanted robot!yuu to transfer into ignihyde but they refused due to ignihyde has the complete equipment for them or ramshackle.
Pomifiore dorm started to take notes and tried robot!yuu fashion styles. Idia is also a supporter of them and basically a super fan, robot!yuu would come to ignihyde to help him with games or help him maintain ortho, Robot!yuu is basically a sister towards Idia and Ortho.
sorry if it's short, this is by far I could come up anon

Olivia Troye at Olivia of Troye:
What happened to individual privacy in America? If you’ve been reading my work, you know I’ve been raising alarms about the national security implications of this administration’s overreach for months, starting with what looked like a politically motivated purge at the NSA. That was the first clue. Now, we’re seeing the broader plan come into focus: a vast federal database powered by Palantir, bringing together the private records of millions of Americans. Yes, Palantir, the company founded by Peter Thiel, a major Trump donor and MAGA megaphone. The same Palantir that’s been embedded within our intelligence community for years, developing tools to track terrorists and build connections across massive datasets for counterterrorism efforts. Tools that, when used with oversight and restraint, helped save lives. I know because I’m familiar with them, given I spent most of my career in national security. But those same tools, in the wrong hands, can become the backbone of a mass surveillance regime. And that should make all of us, regardless of our political affiliation, uncomfortable.
Palantir didn’t just appear out of nowhere. It has spent nearly two decades embedding itself within the U.S. government, from the Pentagon to the CIA, from the IRS to ICE, which recently awarded the company with a $30 million contract to target and also track the self-deporting of illegal aliens (the company has been on the books for ICE since 2009). Are they tracking all the U.S. Citizens and people legally residing in the United States, too, that ICE is “mistakenly” picking up during their raids? Perhaps Palantir could provide a better data system so the Trump Administration doesn’t lose track of the children being separated from their parents this time around…but I digress. Palantir has been a partner in navigating the post-9/11 security state and, over time, evolved into the go-to contractor for everything from border enforcement to COVID-19 vaccine distribution to battlefield intelligence, securing over $2.7 billion in U.S. government contracts since 2009.
Throughout the past week, reporting has surfaced that the Trump Administration has tapped Palantir to build what basically amounts to a national surveillance platform, one that likely links together Americans’ health data, financial transactions, education records, immigration history, and law enforcement files across agencies, into one master system. This is not speculation. This is happening right now under the direction of an administration that is openly working on punishing political enemies, attempting to control dissent, and bypassing legal checks. Let me put this in plain terms: This is how authoritarian regimes take root–not overnight, but bit by bit under the guise of "efficiency," "safety," or "patriotism." They collect the data, connect the dots, and then target the people. And here's the twist that should stop everyone in their tracks: Even Trump’s own base is sounding the alarm. MAGA influencers and far-right allies are now openly asking if Trump has turned on them. Longtime loyalists described the Palantir national citizen database plan as Orwellian, questioning why this administration, their administration, is building a database that could be used to track Americans like political enemies.
Olivia Troye wrote a column on how Palantir will play Big Brother and target your freedoms.

Y'all, I am SO excited about this!!!! I've long been fascinated with holobionts, which are basically miniature ecosystems that revolve around one relatively large being essentially acting as a habitat for a whole host of tinier ones in a generally symbiotic relationship. A lichen is (at least to our current understanding) a relatively simple version thereof, with a mycobiont (fungus) creating structure for photobionts (algae and/or cyanobacteria) and, more recently, unicellular yeast--and possibly others we haven't discovered yet.
But our body's microbiomes also make us holobionts! Our skin, guts, and vaginal flora are all a part of our bodies as much as our cells, and often outnumber the human cells in our systems. We are walking around with veritable nations of microscopic beings living out generation after generation in and on our bodies, and without them we would cease to exist. (Though they would outlast us a while in the event of our death.)
What's really cool about this study is that it demonstrates how it's not just our own human genes that shape our evolution, but the ever-changing genomes of our microbiome residents as well. It really pokes holes in the reductionist idea that we are biological islands that grow and develop independently of other beings, and adds a whole new set of layers to us being part of wider, interconnected ecological systems.
We might pretend we're separate from the rest of nature as we build more concrete, steel, and plastic barriers. But we constantly carry our legacy as animals with us, embedded within the matrices of our bodies, just as we carry our heritage of the ocean in our constant need for water and salinity. No matter how much we try to sterilize our indoor environments and our food and our bodies, we are constantly rife with the thriving, overflowing riot of life that has accompanied us from the time our ancient ancestors pasted their split daughter cells together instead of sending them off on their divergent ways.

ever wonder why spotify/discord/teams desktop apps kind of suck?
i don't do a lot of long form posts but. I realized that so many people aren't aware that a lot of the enshittification of using computers in the past decade or so has a lot to do with embedded webapps becoming so frequently used instead of creating native programs. and boy do i have some thoughts about this.
for those who are not blessed/cursed with computers knowledge Basically most (graphical) programs used to be native programs (ever since we started widely using a graphical interface instead of just a text-based terminal). these are apps that feel like when you open up the settings on your computer, and one of the factors that make windows and mac programs look different (bc they use a different design language!) this was the standard for a long long time - your emails were served to you in a special email application like thunderbird or outlook, your documents were processed in something like microsoft word (again. On your own computer!). same goes for calendars, calculators, spreadsheets, and a whole bunch more - crucially, your computer didn't depend on the internet to do basic things, but being connected to the web was very much an appreciated luxury!
that leads us to the eventual rise of webapps that we are all so painfully familiar with today - gmail dot com/outlook, google docs, google/microsoft calendar, and so on. as html/css/js technology grew beyond just displaying text images and such, it became clear that it could be a lot more convenient to just run programs on some server somewhere, and serve the front end on a web interface for anyone to use. this is really very convenient!!!! it Also means a huge concentration of power (notice how suddenly google is one company providing you the SERVICE) - you're renting instead of owning. which means google is your landlord - the services you use every day are first and foremost means of hitting the year over year profit quota. its a pretty sweet deal to have a free email account in exchange for ads! email accounts used to be paid (simply because the provider had to store your emails somewhere. which takes up storage space which is physical hard drives), but now the standard as of hotmail/yahoo/gmail is to just provide a free service and shove ads in as much as you need to.
webapps can do a lot of things, but they didn't immediately replace software like skype or code editors or music players - software that requires more heavy system interaction or snappy audio/visual responses. in 2013, the electron framework came out - a way of packaging up a bundle of html/css/js into a neat little crossplatform application that could be downloaded and run like any other native application. there were significant upsides to this - web developers could suddenly use their webapp skills to build desktop applications that ran on any computer as long as it could support chrome*! the first applications to be built on electron were the late code editor atom (rest in peace), but soon a whole lot of companies took note! some notable contemporary applications that use electron, or a similar webapp-embedded-in-a-little-chrome as a base are:
microsoft teams
notion
vscode
discord
spotify
anyone! who has paid even a little bit of attention to their computer - especially when using older/budget computers - know just how much having chrome open can slow down your computer (firefox as well to a lesser extent. because its just built better <3)
whenever you have one of these programs open on your computer, it's running in a one-tab chrome browser. there is a whole extra chrome open just to run your discord. if you have discord, spotify, and notion open all at once, along with chrome itself, that's four chromes. needless to say, this uses a LOT of resources to deliver applications that are often much less polished and less integrated with the rest of the operating system. it also means that if you have no internet connection, sometimes the apps straight up do not work, since much of them rely heavily on being connected to their servers, where the heavy lifting is done.
taking this idea to the very furthest is the concept of chromebooks - dinky little laptops that were created to only run a web browser and webapps - simply a vessel to access the google dot com mothership. they have gotten better at running offline android/linux applications, but often the $200 chromebooks that are bought in bulk have almost no processing power of their own - why would you even need it? you have everything you could possibly need in the warm embrace of google!
all in all the average person in the modern age, using computers in the mainstream way, owns very little of their means of computing.
i started this post as a rant about the electron/webapp framework because i think that it sucks and it displaces proper programs. and now ive swiveled into getting pissed off at software services which is in honestly the core issue. and i think things can be better!!!!!!!!!!! but to think about better computing culture one has to imagine living outside of capitalism.
i'm not the one to try to explain permacomputing specifically because there's already wonderful literature ^ but if anything here interested you, read this!!!!!!!!!! there is a beautiful world where computers live for decades and do less but do it well. and you just own it. come frolic with me Okay ? :]
*when i say chrome i technically mean chromium. but functionally it's same thing

My TKDB Chapter 17 Theory (part 2)
This Theory is about Jiro Kirisaki (my love) and his illness!
SPOILER FOR EPISODE 17!!!
What triggers his illness
It seems likely that his condition is rooted in trauma— specifically, unresolved and possibly repressed experiences from his childhood?
His family, Zenji or also Taro, is a key trigger, I think. This COULD be due to his ongoing struggle with memory loss. (Like how he barely remembers anything from before or during the Clash)
Tumblr media
His illness may be deeply embedded in emotional memory or trauma. I think it's connected to his childhood, since in one of his voicelines he states that he never formed strong emotional attachments as a child, particularly when it came to basic needs like food, comfort, or safety. That's NOT normal. This absence of connection and attention has probably shaped him as he is now: monotone, low emotional intelligence and described as apathetic and cold. He probably had no real bonds, atleast not in the way a child should. That isolation, whether due to neglect, trauma, or other circumstances beyond his control, may be the root of his illness.
Tumblr media
Despite his amnesia, there are signs that his subconscious still holds onto the memory of his brother, or his family in general. I believe that those suppressed memories in him stir something within him every time he's reminded of them. Which, for him, is an attack from his own body. ↓
Tumblr media
This is further supported in Chapter 17, when PC mentioned the current date, which happened to be Zenji's birthday, that Jiro's condition almost triggered again. ↓
Tumblr media
His brows are furrowed and he gets sick, or almost. It's as if the memory of his brother reaches past his amnesia and strikes a nerve, possibly reminding him of his death? Similarly, in another chapter (The first interhouse chapter with Romeo, Kaito, Zenji and Jiro, the mere sight of that crying child triggered his illness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was even crying (I think) when this happened. This may be a far reach, but perhaps that child reminded him of himself? He IS the younger brother after all... Maybe Zenji used to help or support him throughout their childhood?
Connection to traumatic responses
Physical reactions to trauma can vary extremely.
Some symptoms are muscle tension, headaches, and aches. The muscles may tense up in response to perceived threats, which can lead to pain and discomfort.
Trauma can also disrupt the digestive system, (like in Jiro's case) causing stomach pain, nausea, or other problems.
The body may also be constantly on guard or, in some cases, the body may dissociate from the traumatic experience, leading to feelings of detachment or unreality– which is similar to Jiro's case.
Sensory information (sight, sound, smell, etc.) associated with the trauma could trigger a physical or emotional response, same for general information like dates or names, which is literally what's going on with Jiro whenever something associated with his past (family, especially Zenji) is mentioned.
Also, what I thought is most important for Jiro's case, is that trauma can be stored in the body's tissues and nervous system, even if the individual doesn't consciously remember the event or what lead up to it. This makes a LOT of sense! (Or maybe I'm just interpreting too much into it)
My Conclusion:
I think Jiro (and Zenji) both had a tragic past where they were severely neglected or exposed to some severe trauma– Zenji's death and the Clash for Jiro additionally. In response, Jiro has developed an illness, a traumatic response, to what happened. I think that, due to his childhood and potential negligence, he turned out the way he did. And due to Zenji's death, his illness worsened. It could be, that he suffered from a chronic illness since birth before, and his trauma response simply added some triggers to it.
What triggers his attacks? I think his memories, or flashbacks to certain events or people– really just memories, which are associated with negative memories from his past– trigger a severe trauma response which makes his own body attack itself.
__________
The whole theory is a reach but I think it turned out pretty interesting. Let me know what you think!

Imagine a lonely, peaceful graveyard, somewhere in Midorijima.
Imagine two graves, side by side - one so old and overgrown, so laden with moss and grime and dirt, that you can hardly make out the inscription on it, just barely lost to time. The other - a lot more recent, though itself starting to show signs of wear.
An old man laid next to where his grandmother was buried so long ago, in eternal, peaceful sleep.
Imagine the top of that grave slowly growing moss and grass and little flowers, and there, on top, even slightly embedded into the soil - decrepit, rusting, overgrowing with vegetation - a broken-down, barely-functioning white-haired robot. Sitting still, dull eyes forever locked onto the name on the headstone - Seragaki Aoba.
Imagine a few years prior, Aoba getting older and older. Clear taking care of most of his basic needs now, carrying him when he's too tired, preparing all his meals and cleaning every mess - all with the same energy, enthusiasm, smile as before.
Imagine Aoba's old, shaking hands attempting to perform routine maintenance and check-ups on Clear. Imagine him straining his muscles to the point of pain, injury. Him mishandling tools and messing up the wiring, getting bit by electricity or having his increasingly fragile skin bruised from the force. Clear hiding any malfunctions, any errors in his performance, just to make sure Aoba doesn't try to fix it, doesn't hurt himself on his own stubborn pride.
Imagine Clear chatting with Aoba as he always did, happy and chipper, about the afterlife. Trying to spin it as positively as he can manage - assuring Aoba that he'll get to be with Tae-san, finally, and hey, maybe he'll even meet Clear's own grandpa one day! Imagine Aoba snapping at him to be quiet, rejecting, resenting the idea of an afterlife, fearing it more than desiring it because he knows that if there is such a thing, then he'll have to spend all of eternity without his love. Without Clear. Robots don't die, after all, and even if he stopped functioning there's no afterlife in the wings for an artificial being.
Imagine Clear visiting Aoba's grave for the first time. Crying uncontrollably, kneeling in the dirt, burying his hands into the soil as if to dig him up. Imagine him talking to Aoba through sobs, wishing him good rest, a fair journey. Imagine him never getting up from that spot again. Calming down, eventually, just enough to talk normally. Singing to him. Describing the environment around him, then breaking into sobs again.
Imagine his function gradually slowing down. Without any repairs or help, his body shutting down more and more bits of itself just to keep him from completely breaking. His eyesight, his voice modulation, his cooling system, his processing power. His brain becomes more and more warped and weak until he isn't even fully sure why he's there - all he knows is that he's with Aoba-san. He can't see him, or hear him, or feel him, but he's with Aoba-san, and as long as his voice carries (no matter how much it stutters, no matter how muffled it gets, no matter how garbled) - he'll keep speaking to him. Singing to him. Reaching out to him forever.
What other purpose does he have? What other purpose did he ever?
Now imagine a dog in a propeller hat.

I said a while ago that for totk’s one anniversary I would write a weird little review of the game in which I throw roses at it while simultaneously slandering it. So I made an attempt which is very abbreviated
Disclaimer: I’m not telling u how u should feel about totk or what’s the right way to feel about it, I’m just trying to make sense of why the game frustrates me and putting it into words. It’s completely fine if u disagree with me, I’m not pitching an argument but just putting words on paper
Totk is one of the best games I’ve ever had the opportunity to play. The mechanics, the music, the designs, the revised world of hyrule, makes me want to curl up on the floor and cry. It is stunning and done with so much love. Where botw had lacked, totk has improved and gone above and beyond. It had frustrated me that botw only allowed us to explore the ground surface, but botw was an exploration into open world games which allowed for totk to happen. The caves, the boats, the islands, and the depths add so much to already such a vast world. I only wish there was also diving but beggars can’t be choosers beh
Although it still doesn’t make too much sense to me why all weapons are suddenly corrupted, I do love the new weapons system. I love how it gives more variety to explore. Materials which previously sat unused in the inventory are now key and nothing feels like a waste to collect. Even rupees have found another use. I’m not the biggest fan of the zonai devices but the addition feels like a love letter to the creativity of the fan base and it feels at place. They help to traverse an otherwise huge and intimidating world. But at times I feel like they give too much leverage and break down too many boundaries and leave little to solve and explore. What im basically saying is fuck the rockets.
I feel that totk doesn’t have enough progress boundaries that make u pause and explore what u have at hand. I found myself just pushing and pushing, forgetting and leaving behind areas I barely touched. It felt too easy getting into the sky and returning to the islands and they lost some of their mystery to me. I think this would have been a great opportunity to reintroduce the loftwings from skyward sword. I’ve talked before about how much this would make sense for totk. The loftwings could be a means to cross boundaries and explore new territories, but it takes time to catch and tame one as a companion. But like horses they should have their limits, presenting new boundaries u need to overcome again
Where the totk’s hyrule begins to confuse and disappoint me goes hand in hand with my main issue (confusion?) with the game. Although botw felt incomplete (the world was a little sparse and one dimensional), the story was comprehensive and clear. Meanwhile, totk has a complete and lively world but it doesn’t have a story to carry
Totk’s story doesn’t have an identity I can grasp and understand. It’s like it doesn’t know what it wants to tell the player, what story it wants to direct them to. On one hand, it seems to want us to know about the origins of hyrule and the mysterious landmarks and characters that are permanent fixtures in this world (castle, ruins, dragons) but at the same time it suddenly wants to do a retelling of OoT and about the sages and these secret stones. But the game never completes any of these stories. Maybe it wants to tell us these stories through the environment, but there is just not enough embedded into the world to grasp and tie together into a narrative. Which is ironic considering how big the world is
We begin to be told the story of the dragons, we suddenly understand how they came to be (the secret stones). But we are never told about the events of their creation (an act of desperation, like Zelda’s) and we are never close to understanding them. Then we are told about the sages, but meeting them tells us nothing new. No new cutscenes, no new items or lore directly related to them. The new sages are found, but didn’t we just discover the divine beasts with them? Suddenly another layer of importance is added to them which makes the ties between legacy and the current sages muddier. I wish there had been focus on them creating their own legacy instead
I think totk could’ve had a very interesting story to tell if it chose what it wants to focus on. Maybe the secret stones were introduced just as a way for Zelda to become a dragon? I dunno
There are so many new places that feel like fantastic opportunities for moments of pause and to uncover lore, unearth memories. But instead they’re brisk puzzles or empty sites. Like the graveyard underneath the desert, the forge islands, the factories, and the fucking poe statues. Tell me as much as u want that I can’t read environmental story telling, but I’ll just keep saying there’s nothing to read into cuz the game doesn’t know what it wants to say. There’s no thread to follow in the way there was with, for example, the graveyard at the spirit temple in OoT. We could’ve been just left with a strange well and a graveyard and told to figure it out, but a thread is laid down that these are the skeletons in the royal family’s closet.
Totk does have amazing moments, like Zelda meeting her ancestors and giving up her identity to become a living legend to revive the master sword, the discovery of the ancient temples, the story of the zonai and their origins. But these are just pieces with many loose ends around them that go nowhere. Even Ganon is left as a loose end where there was so much opportunity to say something worth saying. He seems comically evil with bogstandard bah I want to rule the world lines. If u want to make a case for evil for the sake of evil, u can at least show me a character repeatedly making horrible choices which lead them to the current predicament. Just like totk’s hyrule, he is lovingly designed but he tells absolutely no story
If the reason behind the lack of story is that the devs/writers wanted us to make our own story out of this, then I think this is a case where it was a poor choice. The fans can make theories, hcs, pick up pieces and make AUs, but we also love the stories told by the games and it’s what inspires us to uncover more stories (hey wanna talk about tp and why we hear Malon’s song at night, or what’s up with the empty desert)
I’d love to see totk from the perspective of someone who had never played or known botw. Did it really help to remove any traces of sheikah tech besides the labs and the guardian limbs in the towers. Although the zonai devices and the sheikah tech are from different time periods, totk was a perfect opportunity to marry the two elements together. The shrines and the divine beasts could’ve collapsed into the depths, but instead they have just vanished like erased history
Totk’s story doesn’t have an identity in the same way botw’s does. Even though botw’s hyrule was much smaller and emptier, we found stories there cuz we knew what that game was trying to tell us. If totk is about making sacrifices, then this message feels obsolete by the end. U should make sacrifices, but u will only be happy again if it all goes back to exactly how it was before
As happy and sweet the ending is, it made all the worry and sadness I felt seem pointless cuz of course everything would reset back to the norm cuz how else would this game have a happy ending. What was there to worry about. Yeah so what that Zelda became a dragon losing herself, she was just asleep the entire time and effortlessly she becomes her normal self. So what that link lost his sword arm, of course he would miraculously get it back even though it took him 100 years to recover from a mortal wound. No trace of the things they withstood and lost, no mark, nothing.
I loved the final battle and spectacle of the dragons struggling against each other in the sky. The battle went from the deepest depths to the highest reaches of the sky and I thought it was perfect. But once again how the story concluded and the logic behind it me made me feel like I was chewing on sand and the idyllic ending just made me look about in confusion
TLDR; totk is an amazing game with a stunning world that lacks a comprehensive story to tell
I hoped that I would get a better understanding why I’m so frustrated by totk, but instead I just feel even more confused by it and I think that’s just how I’ll have to leave it

do you have thoughts about the way MHA431 went?
Sure, I'll bite. Let's have a
Chapter Thoughts - Chapter 431: More
Some of this will be a rephrase/expansion on stuff I said in Part 3 of the fascism essay, particularly the section about how Heroes view the prospect of long-term peace, but it’s all worth saying here as well.
Hit the jump for some roughly ordered thoughts primarily about Ochaco’s counseling program, the romance stuff and how it’s facilitated, some stray character observations, and some Stillness-typical complaining about the handling of Villains.
O It was nice to see Ochaco’s program in more detail than the jaw-droppingly bad handwave it got in 430, but I still think it didn’t go anywhere near far enough.  To wit, what we see is a nice introduction to a program that could well be effective at finding some people with behavioral, familial, or quirk-based problems, but the depiction is badly lacking an illustration as to what will be done regarding people with problems that can’t be helped by a tiny bit of encouragement and support.  As it’s with Toga in mind that Ochaco undertook this whole project, it seems fair to ask: How would Toga have fared in it?
If it had been young Toga Himiko in the scene instead of Shy Mining Helmet Boy, Ochaco offering her a little anti-gravity boost would have gone exactly nowhere because no amount of manuevering would have changed Himiko’s basic inability to participate in the activity.  It would have clued Ochaco into Himiko having an issue, though, and perhaps that discovery could have led, with further interaction, to uncovering her feelings of repression and, critically, her problems at home.  Great!  That stuff absolutely needed to be uncovered!
But—then what?  When Ochaco’s program turns up Himiko, a girl with a problem so severe that no amount of welcoming class play is going to resolve it, what’s the next step?  Recommend counseling for her parents, too?  What if they’re resistant, resentful, or they outright refuse?  Do you then remove Himiko from the home?  Let’s switch the lens over to a different kid for a second: Shimura Kotarou.  As evinced by his massive unaddressed abandonment issues, the alternative child care system clearly did him no favors!  And he didn’t have a taboo quirk[1] to add on top of the perception of his being an “unwanted child”!
So if you haven’t improved the state of Japan’s alternative child care system—and there’s no specific evidence that anyone has[2]—have you done much but kicked the consequences down the road a few years or slightly changed the color of the problem at hand?  Would Himiko really fare so much better in a group home or orphanage?  Would the views of the people in charge be significantly different than those of Himiko’s previous counselor?  Or would they just be, as Tomura described his family doing to him, rejecting her kindly instead of cruelly?
1: And “taboo” is honestly putting it lightly.  Shinto beliefs about the spiritual pollution of spilled blood being what they are, Toga’s quirk would actually be profane to a devout adherent—if the reader is familiar with X-Men, think about the kind of nastiness that periodically gets thrown at Nightcrawler by particularly militant Christians.   There’s no indication that Toga’s parents are more devout than the average Japanese person, of course, but values embedded in the culture are going to be embedded in the culture all the same.
2: All we have in that direction is Uraraka enthusing that the program has a lot of support and does very thorough work, and noting that Hawks does negotiations with the Ministry of Education and other (non-specific) organizations, which we see him framing as “investing in young people.”  While this could be indicative of efforts being made somewhere, by someone, to improve the situation for children in alternative care, that read is undercut by Uraraka following up with the note that all this work has done a lot to improve “the quirk education environment.”  This falls far short of specific evidence for improvements to any given other aspect of child welfare.
While I’m sure we’re intended to read Ochaco’s program as one that will be meaningfully helpful to children like Toga—and I don’t even think that it categorically couldn’t be!—what we see directly on the page simply does not prove that case.  Encouraging a baseline kid with an emitter quirk and age-typical shyness does not prove that The Problem of Toga has been addressed.  So what was even the point of showing it to us?
What Himiko really needs—if you’ll pardon my MLA Stan coming out here for a bit—is a complete reevaluation of what quirks are and how people can use them.  She needs a world that’s willing to throw out its old ways of thinking, to update its “notion of normal” to something that will allow the Toga Himikos of the world to live without suppression.  For all the good I'm sure it will do, I don’t see Ochaco’s program doing that.
O It’s so hilariously telling that we got that whole shpiel about updating the Billboard Charts such that non-professional Heroes can be recognized for their efforts, only for the last chapter to give us jack shit on any non-Pro Heroes charting at all.  And like, I’m willing to be generous here: I always assumed that Hawks wasn’t talking about adding non-Pros to the charts verbatim, but rather creating a brand-new chart for the recognition of Civilian Heroes.  But we don’t get anything like that at all—and Deku being a teacher and public speaker gives us a perfect opportunity to indicate such a chart’s existence!  But then, maybe he can’t count because he does Hero work on the weekends, which leads me to my next point.
O Ochaco and Deku should both have just retired, and Shouto should be on sabbatical.  Seriously, if Horikoshi really had the courage of the convictions he was putting to paper, and if it were really true that the Villain emergence rate was down and Heroes were beginning to have more free time, then Ochaco and Deku should both have decided to prioritize the work they believe is more meaningful and helpful than Professional Heroics, and Shouto should feel free to take some time completely off for his self-exploration.  That none of this happens suggests that Horikoshi either didn’t believe or didn’t trust his audience to accept his idea that there are meaningful ways for these characters to be heroic without them also having to be Heroes.
O Ochaco musing about Toga still existing somewhere inside her, and especially all the junk about the dead bisexual teenager being used to encourage the exhaustingly hetero endgame, really just makes me want to read the actual ghost story where Toga is literally haunting Ochaco.  Toga still loves Ochaco-chan, of course, but her encouragement for Ochaco-chan and Deku to hook up is aimed solely at getting the two of them alone in a quiet, private room.  Once that happens, Ochaco’s eyes will go gold and slitted, the walls will start dripping blood, and Deku will find out quite quickly that not everyone is so willing to move on from him murdering Shigaraki Tomura of the League of Villains.
O I miss the Bakugou who was on-course for a big personal growth arc about learning to work in a team.  I feel like that Bakugou, alongside having had a way less tiresome endgame battle, might actually have been able to keep some sidekicks without being chiefly concerned about the level of their personal ambitions.  I don’t give a shit about his (or anyone else save one guy’s) chart position, but it’s exhausting that he had great development into being a proud but capable team player all the way up through the 1-A versus Deku fight, and then all of that gets flushed down the toilet to revert to him getting a badass solo fight against All For One and an epilogue that allows him no work partner options whatsoever outside of the main character.
O The comedy visuals of Deku’s dumb face being subsumed by Bakugou’s plush backseat make me want to die.  Someone please throw this main character away.
O I’m glad Mina reclaimed at least some aspect of her original Alien Queen aspirations with the “Ridley Hero” thing.  Good for her.
O On a worldbuilding note, my attention is caught by Shinsou being described as “not contending” for a chart position, though the kanji can also mean things like “out of contention” or “beyond the sphere of.”  I assume it’s just indicating that Shinsou is an underground Hero like his mentor Aizawa, but a) I feel like that runs a bit counter to his goal of proving that he can be a Hero even with a quirk like Brainwash, and b) isn’t it a bit sketchy if underground Heroes can just choose to exempt themselves from the most visible, public-facing form of Pro Hero evaluation?  Maybe the HPSC charts them for its own records and then removes them from public visibility, of course, or maybe the charts only go down to 200 or so and stop after that, with Shinsou, not seeking for attention, comfortable to be below that cut-off.  Not sure, but there are some interesting possibilities there, as well as some concerning ones.
O HOLY GOD, Monoma’s new look.  I like it very much.  He is also the only person I want to see on the charts at all.  Two hundred ranked entries of Monoma's daily work antics. I support him wholly and with only the most loving of faceitiousness.
O Extremely funny to me that all the people I saw on Twitter talking about this chapter confirming KamiJirou had to first ignore Jirou explicitly denying that there’s anything going on and second be very disingenuous indeed with the panel crop they used to wave around crowing about their ship. I don’t have a strong distaste for KamiJirou relative to my distaste for Kaminari himself, but my tolerance for him pretty much starts and ends with KamiJirouMomo as a poly arrangement, so I was pleased to see that left open here.
O If I dislike Toga’s image being used to encourage Ochaco to hook up with Deku (and I dislike it very much, particularly given the loathsome last words Deku spoke to Toga when she was alive, but at least I can see the sense it makes from a thematic and characterization perspective), I have only profanity for how much I hate Shigaraki’s image being used to encourage Deku in confessing to Ochaco.  Just take my entire folder full of negative reaction memes.  Jesus Christ.
I have said before, and will have more to say in the future, about Deku’s assorted failures as a protagonist and hero, but him deciding that the kind of adult he wants to be is a Hero high school teacher really is the ultimate indicator of just how little he cared about who Shigaraki was and what he wanted.  Ochaco is making a good faith effort to help the Toga Himikos of the future.  Deku, meanwhile, is shallowly paddling around in his Hero Worship wading pool, ignoring both the Shimura Tenkos and the Shigaraki Tomuras of the world—the people Hero Society outcasts, villainizes, and sweeps under the rug.
Shigaraki’s last behest—that Deku ensure the things Shigaraki fought to destroy remain destroyed—was wasted on Deku, who, once he got Spinner and Overhaul off his conscience, clearly could not give less of a shit about helping the people Shigaraki fought for.  To see that last behest come back in the context of Deku using it to bolster his goddamn love life is a fucking travesty, and I hope Ochaco dumps him inside of a year if Toga Himiko’s vengeful ghost doesn’t get him first.
O DON’T WORRY, GUYS; I’M SURE THE HEROES TOTALLY TRY TO BE MORE COMPASSIONATE AND UNDERSTANDING TOWARDS RANDOM, DOWN-ON-THEIR-LUCK VILLAINS NOW.  THINGS ARE SURE TO BE TOTALLY DIFFER—
Tumblr media
Oh.  Oh, it’s not different at all, is it?
(Have I mentioned enough times yet how much I really, really dislike the street crime scenes where Our Heroes stand around and chitchat in the middle of a crime scene, having successfully dealt with the big bad villain whose actions they did not even attempt to de-escalate and whom they have immediately forgotten all about?)
O Wow, thanks for letting us know you don’t think impulse criminals aren’t wicked to the core, Iida.  That makes me feel real reassured about how you guys are handling Villains who premeditate! (It does not.)
O I’ve already said I disliked how Toga’s “image” is used here, but let me not shortchange the fact that it also sucks because it puts the last nail in the coffin of Uraraka having any agency over sharing her own feelings.  She has a lengthy arc about how she is—like Toga in the past—repressing her feelings for the one she loves; she gets through to Toga by frankly admitting to those feelings, as well as all the other things she was sitting on about Toga herself.  And then in the aftermath, she goes right back to repressing her feelings, now ones of paralyzing grief over Toga’s death. Deku witnesses those feelings not because she chooses to share them with him, but because he tracks her down mid-cry.  And now we find out for sure what Chapter 430 left unclear: that in eight years, Ochaco hasn’t said a word about her once-again repressed feelings for him.  Instead, just as she did when she was a teenager, she’s doubled down on putting those feelings away in the name of what she “should” be doing.
And here?  Does she finally take control of her own life, her own feelings, her own expression?  No.  At least, not until after Deku has been the one to confess first and Vision!Toga psychically shoves her forward to close the gap.  The only thing left for Ochaco to do, the only assertiveness asked of her, is to accept or rebuff Deku’s overture.  Good god, you’d think she was Eri, a helpless waif wrestling with indoctrination about how much she’s not allowed to want anything for her own sake, whose turning point in the narrative is finding the strength to reach back for the hand being extended towards her.
Coming from a long-term abuse victim, that’s a perfectly worthy character arc, even a deeply moving show of strength, but it’s wildly pathetic for BNHA’s most prominent female hero, the gal whose character arc was founded entirely on balancing her desire to help others with pursuing her own happiness.  Good lord, did Shonen Jump tell Horikoshi that boys don’t like it when girls are too forward or what?

A fun bit of human worldbuilding for the Darksiders lore. I love the idea of humans technically being considered prey animals by a number of other species in the Darksiders universe. It’s mentioned and shown explicitly that demons and other species will kill and eat humans, so I love the idea of humanity embracing the fight or flight prey instincts that have been pushed to the very backs of our consciousness for thousands of years.
Like imagine you’re a human off world with the horsemen, embarking on a very low-stakes adventure. There’s not a hint of danger on the wind so everyone’s guards are lowered (as much as a horseman can drop their guard) when all of a sudden you get the strangest feeling in the pit of your stomach, and you feel the hair rise along the back of your neck.
You’re able to drop to the ground a microsecond before an enemy attacks from above, who’s claws were an inch away from goring you, and is quickly dispatched by one of the four.
Humanity basically has a primitive early warning system embedded into their dna, which other species aren’t privy too, because they’ve never had to evolve such defensive tactics to survive. It’s not much, but it gives us just enough of a leg up to attempt to compete in the new, dangerous world we’ve re-awoken to.
Sorry for the dump, I just love the idea of long buried human instincts coming in clutch to aid us in a scary demon-infested world. And I love imagining it actually giving us an advantage over other species, who typically underestimate humans.
OohoohoaoOOHO
I need to think of ways to incorporate your idea into my fics >:]
You had no idea you could actually sense danger until you were in it, you duck literally milliseconds before a sword swings over your head and you're like, 'WOAH...! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!'
Death: That was a sword-
You: NO, I mean WHAT DID I just do!?

Your ask dump was such a rollercoaster! Angst and fluff and smut and everything all in one! I was so not prepared! I really loved the super angsty one where vampire skz lose control and hurt their doll. Read it four times in one sitting. D E L I C I O U S.
The one about Chan made me wonder though, how would blood transfusions work for a blood doll? Because technically, it isn't their blood, right? And we know that to a large degree, the blood also tells the story of the person. So if a doll needed transfusion, what would it entail for skz who they are bonded to? Or would stored blood lose the memory of the person it belonged to once it is removed from the body? I mean, blood cells do replenish(?)/regenerate(?) every three months.
About the werewolf lore, there is a lot. I'm wondering if I should put it on my profile or if I should just send it to via asks. I mean, my profile is blank right now because at the moment, I only use tumblr for book recs and for your delicious part of this website! What do you suggest?

you rang, Penguin Anon? good. because you just tapped into premium-grade blood science and you’re absolutely right — it’s not just crimson. it’s code.

🧛‍♂️ 💉 B L O O D T R A N S F U S I O N S I N B L O O D D O L L ( a k a : w h a t h a p p e n s w h e n s h i t g e t s m e d i c a l l y c o m p l i c a t e d )
❗️The Core Principle:
In this universe, blood isn’t just biological — it’s biographical. It holds:
memory (psychic + sensory echoes),
scent markers (soul-encoded identity),
magical frequency (unique to species, bond, and emotion).
So yeah. Swapping blood? Not simple.
🔁 WHAT HAPPENS IF A BLOOD DOLL NEEDS A TRANSFUSION?
🥀 1. Stored Blood = Dead Data
Once blood is drawn and removed from the living system, it begins to degrade metaphysically within hours.
After ~48 hours (give or take), it’s emotionally inert—like a USB stick with corrupted files.
Yes, the red cells still “work” medically... but to a vampire? It smells like dust and static.
🧪 2. Human-to-Human Transfusion = Identity Interference
A doll receiving another human’s blood? Risky.
The bonded vampire will smell someone else inside their mate.
It causes psychic dissonance: rage, confusion, territorial panic.
Especially if it’s unfamiliar blood. Their instincts scream “she’s been touched.”
May lead to blood rejection episodes or violence unless the vamp is warned and stabilized.
💉 3. Ideal Solution: Synthblood Imprinted with Doll’s Bio-Code
Chan’s empire (LUXE HEALTH or NOCTE LABS) likely created custom blood-mimic transfusions.
Grown from the doll’s own bloodline, enriched with her frequency and psychic markers.
Like cloning her blood to preserve the bond — science meets sorcery.
⚠️ 4. Worst Case: Emergency Transfusion from Another Vampire
This is basically a soul slap.
Not recommended unless you want a mate-bond rupture.
The bonded vampire will feel it — as if someone else fed her, marked her.
Would trigger jealousy, bloodlust, and a need to reassert dominance immediately.
🧠 BONUS BIOLOGY NERD NOTE:
You’re right — red blood cells replace themselves roughly every 120 days. BUT: in this lore, the blood’s “imprint” exists beyond the cell’s lifespan. The magic-memory lives in the bloodstream like an aura. So even with fully regenerated blood, the soul’s pattern remains embedded unless disrupted by trauma, ritual, or external influence.

As for the werewolf lore... God, yes. Send it. Whether it’s DMs, asks, or carrier pigeon — go feral with it.
