Tim begins to nod but is interrupted by Angela reminding everyone of the Evers-Lopez Christmas party tonight. As she tells the surrounding officers about the gift exchange, food, and fun she and Wesley have planned, your eyes stray to Tim. It has taken over a week to convince yourself it isn’t a terrible idea, and now you’re ready to ask Tim to go with you to the party. Your fingers tap nervously against your hip, though you’re oblivious to Tim’s repeated glances at you.

“Who’s bringing a date?” Angela inquires. “I need to make sure we have enough food.”

“And mistletoe?” Nyla guesses.

“I don’t even know what that is,” Angela deflects. “Dates? Timothy?”

“Yeah, I’m bringing someone,” Tim answers.

Angela’s jaw drops as you and everyone else swing your head to look wide-eyed at him. She had been kidding when she called him out specifically and certainly didn’t expect him to say he had a date. Tim says her name and where they met, but you can’t hear anything over your heart pounding and a week’s worth of doubts swirling.

“You said you wanted to talk?” Tim remembers as the surprise diminishes and people begin leaving the station.

“Yeah…” you answer. “It can wait, though. Enjoy your date.”

You could’ve still asked him or told him the truth of what you wanted to talk about, but it’s easier this way. You’ll be at the same party. Tim with his date and you with what’s left of your Christmas cheer and a heart crushed like peppermint.

Tucked into a corner with one of Lucy’s Christmas cookies, you watch the party from a safe distance. Tim’s date is gorgeous, as you expected, and you fight to keep your attention away from them.

“Hey,” Lucy greets as she approaches your safe haven. You send her a close-lipped smile, and she lays her hand on your shoulder. “What’s up?”

“Nothing worth talking about,” you say. “These cookies are amazing by the way. Peppery ginger snaps, who knew?”

“My aunt. But, seriously, if you decide you want to talk, you know where to find me.”

“I do. Go enjoy the party.”

“As long as you do, too. I’m getting your gift during Dirty Santa and if Tim even thinks about stealing it, I’ll tell Angela about his bad attitude last week.”

“I think I’d like to see that.”

Lucy sends you a heart with her hands, and you finish the last bite of your cookie. Walking through Angela’s house to either get another or throw away your plate (you’ll decide when you get there), you keep your eyes down until your shoulder bumps into someone.

“I’m sorry,” you apologize, looking up.

“You’re on a mission,” Tim muses. “There’s no more cookies, but if you’re nice to Nyla, she might tell you where she’s hiding them.”

“I could just get something else,” you murmur, thinking it would be easier to get someone else, but you want Tim.

“Uh, guys?” Nolan interrupts. “You’re under the mistletoe.”

Tim tips his head back and spots the green leaves hanging sneakily above a doorframe. You shake your head at Nolan, but he waves Angela over despite your protests.

“It’s tradition!” she argues. “You have to!”

“Yes!” Lucy agrees when she realizes where you are. “Kiss!”

Several of your friends cheer, and you shake your head again.

“Don’t be such a Scrooge!” Lucy tells Tim.

“I knew you were going to say that,” Tim complains.

“Tim, you’re here with a date,” you remind him softly.

Tim clicks his tongue, then raises his hands to the sides of your neck and jaw. “We have no choice,” he points out.

You let your eyes flutter shut as you lean in and kiss Tim. The noise of the party fades as you grip Tim’s waist and move with him. When Tim pulls back, you notice that the crowd beside you has dissipated.

“Where’s, uh…” you begin.

“My date?” Tim guesses with a barely contained smile.

“Yeah.”

“She left ten minutes in, decided this wasn’t her scene – her words.”

“How is a Christmas party not someone’s scene?”

Tim shrugs, and you apologize for his bad date.

“It worked out,” Tim replies.

“Gift time!” Angela yells from the living room.

You find a place on a small loveseat by Tim and watch as the white elephant gift exchange begins. After the moment beneath the mistletoe, a feeling of magic lingers within you. You must tell Tim about your feelings for this to go beyond Christmas.

“Don’t get attached to that,” Nolan says as Wesley opens an expensive tool set.

Laying your head on Tim’s shoulder, you don’t feel him freeze beneath you. He watches you laugh with his friends, content in an environment – his environment – when his date couldn’t even tolerate walking past the cookie table. As Tim relaxes, welcoming you into his space, and feels the same warmness he had while kissing you, he unknowingly gives you his heart. You give him yours in return, and it’s the best gift exchange you’ve ever participated in.

Lucy opens your gift and squeals before tucking it under her sweater.

“I’m stealing that, so make it a little easier to get to,” Tim warns her.

“No!” Lucy exclaims. “Angela, Tim yelled at me last week.”

“She can’t save you now,” Tim tells Lucy. “I need that one.”

“Why?” Angela asks, raising her eyebrows as she glances toward you.

“You’re a detective, Lopez, figure it out.”

“Let me give you a ride home?” Tim asks in your ear.

You nod and accept his hand as you stand. After receiving hugs and gifts from a few friends, you follow Tim outside, and a soft white powder falls from above to greet you.

“Is that what I think it is?” Tim whispers.

Extending your hand, you catch some on your fingers and raise it to your nose. “Only if you think it’s powdered sugar.”

“Chen!” Tim barks. “What are you doing?”

“What?” Lucy asks from behind him. “Is that snow?”

“It’s close enough!” Nyla answers.

“Nyla?” you ask, stepping out into the powdered sugar snow. “Wade?!”

Tim follows you onto the walkway. His eyes widen when he sees his watch commander perched on the roof and spreading fake snow through a sieve.

“Act like I’m not here,” James adds, pouring more sugar into his shaker.

Nyla rolls her eyes and looks at Tim to demand, “Just kiss her again and put us out of our misery before New Year’s.”

You don’t have time to question her command before Tim pulls you in. The door clicks closed as you taste the powdered sugar on Tim’s lips, and you smile against him as the fine confectioner’s treat covers your clothing.

“I was going to ask you to come with me,” you admit, leaning your forehead against Tim’s as his arms wrap around your waist. “Like a date.”

“Raincheck for New Year’s Eve?” Tim suggests.

“Will it be like this?”

“I hope not.”

Nyla scoffs, but you kiss Tim in the makeshift winter wonderland rather than replying. You have been in love with Tim Bradford for longer than the duration of this party, but learning that he loves you too is a Christmas present that will never be topped.

HL Christmas Headcanons

Sebastian Sallow

Sebastian enjoys Christmas quite a lot, though it often comes with some melancholy for him. He has fond but faint memories of his parents around this time of year, and he mostly remembers cosy reds and warm fires and the scent of nutmeg and marshmallow. He remembers feeling safe, loved, and excited. Of course, that changed when he and Anne went to live with Solomon – their days became colder, hugs less frequent, affection rarely given from their irascible guardian. Christmas was celebrated in the Sallow’s cottage, but it wasn’t the same.

However, when Sebastian and Anne went to Hogwarts, they elected to stay at the castle for that first year, to keep Ominis company. Solomon spent his first Christmas in six years alone, and it made him rethink things. Not by a lot, but just enough to make the effort to throw up a bit of tinsel and get some turkey for supper, to gift each of the three children a small, inexpensive bauble that showed he tried without having to go to too much effort. Anne found this gesture deeply endearing, but Sebastian wasn’t so easily convinced, knowing that an another argument was just around the corner. Whenever he can, he takes the opportunity to make a big thing out of Christmas, eating too much at dinner, buying presents he can’t really afford so his sister and best friend have lovely things to open, singing carols at the top of his voice and hilariously out of tune.

Sebastian wants this time of year to be special, memorable, and important, something to look forward to when things get too dark. Even after fifth year, when his friendship with Ominis is strained and Anne isn’t talking to him and Solomon is dead, he still tries. He decorates the cottage how he feels it should be decorated, he cuts down a tree by himself and hauls it in, agonising over each and every detail to make sure it’s perfect. He buys presents for everyone – Ominis, Anne, all his classmates, and you, of course. It doesn’t matter if he’s barely spoken to someone, even the teachers get a little gift, even if it’s just a small bar of Honeydukes’ chocolate. Sebastian needs this time of year to be special, to help him remember that there is still some good in the world, that he is still capable of love, and being loved.

And sometimes, just as he's about to drift off to sleep, he smells the faint scent of nutmeg and marshmallow, and his dreams are soft and warm.

Ominis Gaunt

For Ominis, Christmas was just another time of year. His parents considered it a very muggle tradition, and as such eschewed typical celebratory activities. However, that didn't stop them trying to outdo other noble families in terms of the most expensive gifts to each other (which the Gaunts promptly sold, hoping their fellow purebloods didn't notice they'd spent less on their gifts and enchanted them). Decorations mean nothing to Ominis, they simply serve to be an annoyance if suddenly there’s a bloody tree in the middle of the floor that wasn’t there yesterday, tinsel to trip over and baubles to slip on. But when he was very small, Noctua told him about Christmas, old Saint Nick, the elves, and more, whispering stories of fantasy to him and gifting him small, thoughtful things that set his imagination alight, thinking such things couldn't be real. Of course, that stopped when she vanished, and Ominis didn’t dare raise the subject with his parents for fears of reprisal.

So, it was quite the shock when Hogwarts became abundantly festive during his first year, his new friends’ enthusiasm alien to him. He had no desire to return home unless he absolutely had to, and he was touched when Anne and Sebastian decided to stay with him. Over that holiday, Ominis’ opinions began to shift, and he secretly came to love the sound of carols, the smell of peppermint and pine, the subtle shift in the air that brought with it kindness and joy, things that had been all too rare for him.

Ominis isn’t really one for giving or receiving gifts, being of the opinion that there’s usually some kind of string attached, an unspoken, expected favour to be called upon at a later date. As such, Ominis is incredibly selective about who he accepts presents from, and who he gifts them to. Anne, Sebastian and you would receive small things that to the average outsider seem like afterthoughts – a bracelet made of glass beads, a copy of a children's book, a series of different kinds of flowers dried and pressed and enchanted to last. Those he doesn’t know well or doesn't trust will be gifted far more extravagant things, which seems very odd to those that don’t know Ominis.

But those that do know him know that these ‘last minute’ or ‘thoughtless’ presents are actually representations of how well Ominis knows his friends. Anne had been gushing for months about this particular bracelet, wishing she had one just like it. Sebastian had been bemoaning how his favourite copy of Beedle’s Tales had fallen to bits because he’d read it so much, and as for the flowers… Ominis is well versed in floriography, and there will be a message in there, just for you.

The extravagant gifts for family and newcomers to his friendship circle is an insurance policy to make sure he is in no way indebted. Ominis can’t stand being in debt to anyone, especially at Christmas.

Garreth Weasley

Christmas for Garreth is a huge event. It’s a time filled with laughter, happiness, enthusiasm, excitement… everything Christmas should be. He never spends it at Hogwarts, preferring to go home and be with his family, where it’s always loud and full of smells of cooking, where everyone is so tightly packed together you can’t turn around without bumping into another Weasley.

He is enthusiastic about everything to do with Christmas, from the presents to the decorations to the cooking to the dinner itself. The Weasleys have several small family traditions that could be missed if you’ve just come into the family or have never experienced a Weasley Christmas before – things like always taking a sip of liquor before you start to eat, because Garreth’s granddad once made a joke about ‘whetting the appetite’ and baby Garreth took this literally, grabbing his grandad’s whisky. Another tradition is how the Weasley children will pile into their parents’ bedroom, no matter their age, and all sit on the bed to open their stockings before they all go downstairs together to open the presents under the tree.

Though the Weasleys aren’t well off by any means, each of them tends to have their family and Christmas in mind for most of the year, and will always be on the lookout for little bargains, trinkets, and special offers they can snaffle to hoard until the end of the year. It’s important to them that they have lots of things to open, even if it’s individually wrapped pieces of a puzzle set or chocolate hamper or artistic kit. It makes everyone feel like there’s more to go around, and that just for one day, they can forget about their nearly-empty Gringotts Vault.

Garreth himself is absurdly generous, and he’ll happily do favours and odd jobs for people if that means he can earn a little extra gold so he can make Christmas a bit more special for his family and friends. He happily opens his home to you if you ever express the slightest interest in a Weasley Christmas. If you attend, you’ll feel like part of the family in no time at all.

Many retail sellers have gingerbread kits you can buy, fully decked with frosting and candy !! If you want anything else, definitely check out some other isles for sprinkles, candy and anything else you'd like !

Some places have Christmas pop-up markets or towns! These pop-up areas may have some small rides, food, and other Christmas themed items for purchase. Its a fun experience, even if you dont buy anything!!

Christmas cards are easy, and customizable to whoever you're sending it too. Make some for friends or family, and send them out for a little holiday cheer!

Take some time and use any small Christmas items you have to decorate your room to also feel as festive as the Christmas tree!

Holiday crafts are the perfect way to pass time especially as it begins to snow in many places. The good thing about these crafts, is many use stationary you already have at home, and can be used to create decorations for your tree, or room!!

Favorite traditions, rules, moments and features of autumn:

1. The rustling of leaves underfoot and their bright iridescence over the head with fire and gold🍂🍁💛🧡❤️;

2. Cozy evenings under a blanket with a book in hand. Enjoying hot drinks while it's raining outside;

3. Harvesting, and then cooking compotes, jams, marmalade, salting and pickling. Winemaking. Pies😄;

4. For me, it's time for dates. I was born in September. It's my parents' wedding anniversary in October and this month I met my love 7 years ago. Besides my best friend's birthday in November🎂;

5. Long nights, it's time for candles and garlands;

6. The finest hour of accessories is coming: scarves, gloves, hats and caps, oh, and an umbrella (I love umbrellas☔️);

7. Every autumn we go out to some picturesque park, manor or city, catching the "golden autumn". This is the name of the period of maximum leaf staining in trees before falling off. It lasts 1-2 weeks🍁;

8. Fairs, festivals and exhibitions;

9. Seeing off the migratory birds and enjoying the sunsets, which have now become brighter and more contrasting;

10. Helping the plants in the garden overwinter;

11. Thick fog and the first frost on puddles and in the grass;

12. Halloween🎃 It's usually a horror night for us. We watch various horror movies in a row until morning, and then, of course, I'm afraid of any rustle😄;

13. At the same time, autumn brings changes and makes you think about the future;

14. First thoughts about Christmas gifts!🎄🎁;

15. Rapid heartbeat when you see the first snow❄️

2. Уютные вечера под пледом с книгой в руках. Наслаждение горячими напитками, пока за окном дождь;

3. Сборы урожая и осенних грибов, а затем варка компотов, джемов, варенья, засолка и маринование. Виноделие. Пироги😄;

4. Для меня это пора дат. В сентябре я родилась. В октябре годовщина свадьбы моих родителей и в этом месяце 7 лет назад я встретила свою любовь. В ноябре день рождения моей лучшей подруги🎂;

5. Длинные ночи, пора свечей и гирлянд;

6. Наступает звездный час аксессуаров: шарфы, перчатки, шляпы и шапки, ох, и зонтик (обожаю зонты☔️);

7. Каждую осень мы выбираемся в какой-нибудь живописный парк, усадьбу или город, ловя "золотую осень". Так называют период максимального окрашивания листьев у деревьев перед опаданием. Он длится 1-2 недели🍁;

8. Ярмарки, фестивали и выставки;

9. Провожание взглядом перелетных птиц и наслаждение закатами, которые сейчас стали ярче и контрастнее;

10. Помощь растениям в саду уйти на покой перед долгой зимой;

11. Густой туман и первый морозец на лужах и в траве;

12. Хэллоуин🎃 для нас это обычно хоррор ночь. Мы до утра смотрим подряд разные ужастики, а потом я, конечно, боюсь любого шороха😄;

Pairing: platonic Tim Bradford x fem!reader

Summary: Tim needs to bake cookies for a Christmas party, and you're happy to help.

Warnings/Word Count: 1.4k+ words of fluff

Tim isn’t sure how Angela roped him into attending her Christmas party or why he offered to bring something for everyone. Next time he sees her, he’ll accuse her of trapping him or using something against him, even though he knows she’ll smile and ask what gifts he brought. Tim sighs and leans back on his couch when he's reminded about the gifts. His fellow officers are hard to get gifts for, he’s decided. The only helpful result he got from looking online was a recommendation to make something both because it’s heartfelt and it keeps costs down.

Tim scrolls through an article on the best things to make friends for Christmas and rolls his eyes as he passes what seems like the hundredth different cookie recipe. When he sees a cookie assortment idea, however, he stops. Tim doesn’t know what everyone likes, so baking different recipes and flavors seems like a good idea. Then, he remembers that he does not enjoy baking and doesn't think he could bake such a large quantity without assistance.

Tim taps his phone against his hand and considers calling Lucy for help. Before he can dial her number, his phone buzzes with an incoming text.

If Kojo needs any dog treats for Christmas, let me know. I made too many :)

Shaking his head, Tim stands and calls Kojo. After he clips the leash to his harness, Tim exits his house and walks toward yours. He should have remembered earlier that you love baking and enjoy spending time with Tim – even if he doesn’t understand why. Kojo bounces excitedly on your front step as Tim knocks, and when you open the door with a smile, Tim knows he made the right choice.

“Hi, Kojo!” you greet happily. “And Kojo’s walker.”

“Still funny,” Tim deadpans. “We’re not here for treats.”

You cover Kojo’s ears and look at Tim in faux disgust.

“Not just treats,” he corrects.

With that, you stand and invite them inside. Several baking sheets lined with silicone rest on your counter, and you pull a treat off the one closest to you. After ensuring it has cooled enough, you toss it to Kojo and smile as he catches it.

“What can I help you with?” you inquire.

“Baking,” Tim answers as he rolls Kojo's leash and sets it on one of your stools. “If you have time.”

Pressing a hand to your heart, you wipe an imaginary tear from your cheek and say, “I’ve been waiting for this moment.”

“Are the dramatics required for cookie making or just something you like to add for flourish?” Tim jokes.

“Cookies? Ooh, okay, what are we making and why?”

You move into your kitchen and wash your hands before offering Tim an apron.

“Right now?” he asks. “I didn’t mean to rush you.”

“When do you need them?”

“Tomorrow night for a Christmas party.”

“Then now is the perfect time. So, what flavors?”

Tim pulls his phone from his pocket and shows you the article he has open. You nod at the list of flavors and then purse your lips.

“I think we can do better,” you decide. You pull a pen from your drawer and tear a sheet of paper from the magnetic pad on your fridge. “So, chocolate chip, gingerbread, sugar cookies, those are Christmas classics. But for the rest, we can do better than snickerdoodles or shortbread.”

“Thank you for helping,” Tim interjects.

“Of course. And remember that I’m helping, we have to do this together.”

Tim hides his growing smile as he agrees, “Absolutely.”

“Who are these for? Cops?” you inquire.

Tim nods and says, “Angela, Lucy, Nolan, their families.”

You tap the pen against your chin, then say, “I have a caramel cookie recipe I think Lucy would like. Any idea about what flavors they like?”

Tim shrugs, and you roll your eyes playfully.

“If we do chocolate chip, sugar cookies, gingerbread, caramel, hot chocolate-“

“Hot chocolate?”

“Yeah, it’s a chocolate cookie with a fudgy ganache mixed in, and we can top it with marshmallow drizzle.”

“These are Christmas presents, not an entry to the Great British Bake Off,” Tim points out.

“I knew you liked that show,” you accuse, pointing at him. “Besides, it’s Christmas and you like these people whether you’re willing to admit it or not. So, we make a few relatively simple cookie recipes and make their year with a Tim Bradford handmade present.”

Tim pulls the apron over his head and sighs. “Tell me what to do.”

While Tim gathers the ingredients, you clean up from your last round of baking. After the silicone liners have been switched and everything has been thoroughly washed, you return to Tim’s side and find your favorite gingerbread recipe.

“We’ll start with these and the sugar cookies because the dough needs to chill before baking,” you explain. “Then while the others are baking and these are cooling, we can work on the other stuff.”

Tim skims the recipe as you speak and says, “Looks simple enough.”

“That’s what I hoped to hear. You get started on this then and I’ll work on sugar cookies?” you suggest. Tim nods, and you add, “Would I be pressing my luck if I turned on Christmas music?”

“Go for it,” Tim murmurs as he begins measuring ingredients for the first step.

“If I knew baking distracted you, I would’ve asked for help sooner,” you murmur as you press play on your favorite playlist.

Several minutes later, Tim switches the mixer off and asks, “Does this look smooth and creamy?”

You walk to his side and peek into the bowl. “Beat it for another thirty seconds or so.”

Tim turns the switch, and the paddle begins beating the butter again, and you stand by his side and watch. When he looks to you for confirmation that it's done, you frown.

“You got something right here,” you explain, wiping your finger across his cheek.

Tim feels the sugar roll off of your skin and onto his. Pressing his lips together, he watches you struggle not to smile.

“Why did I ask you for help?” Tim grumbles.

“Because you need my expertise. And I’m such great company, right, Kojo?”

Kojo huffs, and you offer Tim a towel before you return to your sugar cookie dough. Tim didn’t specify if he wanted to frost these, but you think just the cookies will be enough for now. His work friends will be shocked to get such a thoughtful gift, you think, and you’re grateful to be part of Tim’s life and to get to help him with something like this.

While you wait for the last tray of cookies to finish baking, you toss a ball for Kojo and laugh when he tries to tackle you to bring it back.

“Thank you again,” Tim says as he dries his hands. “I couldn’t have done this without you.”

“They’re going to love the treats,” you reply. “It was really sweet of you.”

“Maybe you can teach me how to make you a cake before your birthday,” Tim muses.

“Maybe,” you agree carefully. “Or maybe you can just order one so we can both get a break.”

The oven timer beeps, and Tim removes the chocolate chip cookies and sets them on a trivet to cool. He walks to your side to take the ball from Kojo before bouncing it.

“I found a recipe that I think Lucy would love,” you tell Tim. “You should make it for her birthday. It’s a copycat recipe for the 33-layer cake from Club 33, but the filling between each layer is a different classic Disney movie theme.”

“Yeah, I’ll get right on that,” Tim says. “What makes you think I could do that?”

“If you’re chicken, just say so.”

“I’m not chicken!” Tim defends. “I can make it, I just-“ He stops when he sees the smile on your face. “I don’t know why I’m friends with you.”

“My stunning personality and incredible baking skills. Plus, I spoil Kojo.”

“And dinner,” Tim complains.

“I told you not to eat so much of the dough,” you remind him. “I can order a pizza, and we can start constructing these treat boxes I have that look like gingerbread houses.”

You disappear into the kitchen, and Kojo looks up at Tim with his ears perked.

“You did hear the part about thirty-three layers, right? I’m a beginner, pal.”

He enjoys gift giving, especially when it's for Sektor and Sareena. Naturally he is a very observant person, so seeing the look of excitement on his significant others' faces when he gets them exactly what they wanted makes him happy

He's not really into all the family fun that's supposed to occur during the Christmas season (this man is NOT making a gingerbread house). He'd rather curl up near the fire and read a Christmas book (he enjoys A Christmas Carol because of the ghosts) with the people he cares about

DO NOT sing Christmas carols around him. DO NOT ask him to make it snow inside. He will actually lose his mind.

🔥 Kuai Liang 🔥

Kuai Liang is a Christmas enjoyer. He has a lot of positive memories associated with the holidays from when he was younger (playing with Harumi Shirai in the snow, decorating the Lin Kuei Palace with colorful candles)

Baking is one of his favorite Christmas traditions... Though he is an absolute fire hazard in the kitchen. He always ends up with burnt Christmas tree cookies that he absolutely smothers in frosting

Since Tomás has difficulties around the holidays, Kuai Liang goes out of his way to help him feel cheerful by including him in activities. They've spent lots of time doing childish things like building snowmen or decorating a tree in the forest with homemade decorations

Last minute wrapper. Motherfucker is awake the entire night on Christmas Eve trying to wrap all the gifts he got. He is often exhausted on Christmas morning... And some Christmas' he doesn't wake up before noon

When he moved to Japan to establish the Shirai Ryu, he took several of his old Christmas decorations with him. He hasn't touched them since

💨 Tomás Vrbada 💨

Tomás has... a complicated relationship with Christmas

On one hand, he has so many positive memories (both secular and religious) with his birth parents and sister during Christmas time... On the other hand he has so many positive memories of people that are no longer in his life

Regardless of how he feels, he tries really hard not to let his upsetment show. Whenever Kuai Liang asks him to bake with him or to build a snowman, Tomás always says yes. He doesn't want to bring anyone else down because of him

Tomás likes to watch Christmas cartoons like Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Noses Reindeer. His absolute favorite Christmas cartoon is The Year Without A Santa Claus. He relates to how depressed Santa is.

Though he typically tries to avoid Bi-Han during the holiday season (why get kicked while he's already down?), sometimes he'll ask if he can sit with Bi-Han while he's watching a Christmas movie. That's the most time that they spend with each other without yelling at each other the whole year

⚙️ Sektor ⚙️

CHRISTMAS. HATER. An absolute Scrooge

There were too many times in the past where she was let down by her mother and father during Christmas time, so now she just hates everything associated with the season

She locks herself in the Armory, working on things she doesn't need to be working on in order to distract herself. She barely sleeps, she barely eats, it's mildly concerning how consumed she is by her work

Bi-Han recognizes that Sektor needs her space and tries to respect that as much as possible, but he still gets worried when she doesn't leave the shop for more than a week. Sareena will go into the Armory and pester Sektor all day, asking questions about different Christmas things until Sektor kicks her out

The only day that Sektor is somewhat present is Christmas Day. She will go sit with everyone while they open gifts, sipping her coffee as she soaks in as much of the moment as she is emotionally able to

🐝 Cyrax 🐝

Cyrax likes both the religious and secular aspects of Christmas. She is a Catholic, so she sets up a little nativity scene in her room every year

Being from Nigeria, she has a lot of traditions that she brings into the Lin Kuei from the Zaki. One such tradition is going on an annual hunt and competing to see who can kill the largest animal within an allotted time. The winner is blessed with good luck for the upcoming year and their catch is served at Christmas dinner

Kuai Liang LOVES this tradition and competes with Cyrax yearly. He has yet to beat her. In fact the only person that was able to beat Cyrax's time and kill was Sareena, who managed to bring down an Ice Beast within ten minutes

When Cyrax and Kuai Liang dated, they spent a lot of time walking in the woods and looking at all the tracks in the snow. This was also an excuse for Cyrax to cuddle close to Kuai to stave off the cold

Will often join Kuai Liang in his quest to cheer up Tomás, but she is also very aware of if Tomás is not in the mood and will back away. She often has to remind Kuai Liang to not be too forceful when he's trying to help

😈 Sareena 😈

LOVES CHRISTMAS!!! I mean, who wouldn't after being trapped in the NetherRealm with a perverted old Sorcerer for centuries?

She especially loves to decorate the palace in bright lights. Instead of using candles, she wants to go to the store and buy actual electric bulbs (not realizing that the Lin Kuei palace doesn't have electricity... But Sektor would figure out a way to make them work). She spends time untangling the lights every year and gets tangled up every time

She has a lot of questions about Christmas. "Who is Santa Claus? How does he see us when we're sleeping? Is he a sorcerer? How does he fit down the chimney? How does he not set himself on fire when he's in the chimney and the fire is lit?..." Bi-Han started ignoring her after continuously answering her questions for three hours

Is addicted to eggnog and actually enjoys Kuai Liang's burnt cookies

She's very bad at gift giving. One year she gave Bi-Han and Sektor each a dead rabbit. She didn't wrap them either, so their chamber smelled really bad for a couple of days and Sektor and Bi-Han had no idea what was causing the smell. Meanwhile, Sareena's looking mischievous in the corner and thinking "Hehehe they'll never guess what their gifts are! ;)"
