As someone who’s been on the internet for a while and has been building themselves up through social media and places like Tumblr, do you have any tips for someone new to Tumblr who’s hoping to do the same while keeping their online identity separate from their real one?
I’m planning on writing an original story and posting it on Ao3 and I want to use Tumblr as the place I promote that story and a way to help me better foster a community for the world I’m making. The main problem is that all of this is very new to me. I’ve never had a social media presence, I’ve never put a story onto the internet, and I have never engaged in anything close to an online community outside of liking things.
Is there any etiquette I should be aware of, whether that’s just general social media stuff, Tumblr specific, or even being-a-creator specific? Anything else you might think is worthwhile to bring up?
Please and thank you if you answer this, I love your work and I’m lowkey really happy I got Tumblr for this purpose because I’ve now been exposed to so much good art of yours outside of the PPPIDWTBAMG pilot (and sorry for the long ask, I’m still not used to this kind of thing lol kinda feel like a boomer with how unfamiliar this all is).
I feel like tumblr's pretty straightforward. It's one of the few social media platforms that isn't completely bogged down by an algorithm and is largely community/fandom based and truly SOCIAL media. Best tip I can give is to make friends, get involved in other communities, share your work regularly and use relevant tags 👍🏾
and thanks so much!

maaau
an introduction post to maaaus
maaau ("almost my people") are the closest living relatives to maanuls. They share the same tribe, but not the same genus. Species of the same genus as modern maanuls are extinct. Mainly through diseases, genetic bottleneck, hybridization, inability to survive environmental changes, food sources going extinct, species competition during famine related to food source extinctions, etc. Contradictory to spread out in-world belief due to a poor understanding of natural history in the general population, Maaaus isn't an ancestor who'm maanuls evolved from. They are their own species, who evolved alongside maanuls but for a different available niche. They do descend from a common ancestor who arrived at the western coast millions of years ago. And said ancestor was closer to the current family the kyhuines species belong to, than modern maanuls and maaus are. While maanuls, kyhuines and mierthri may be called "cousin species" by me all around my blog, they are several sub-orders away from each others. So it is somewhat of a stretch at times, and more of an in-world thing to say. Some places will consider kyhuines and mierthri more of a cousin to maanuls than maaaus are, when biologically speaking maaaus is their closest living cousin, not them. The distinction here is a social one they made up, in modern languages the distinction between a maanul, kyhuine, or mierthri isn't distinct, as they will share the common word that roughly translates to "people". Distinctions will be done via using other words if needed, such as in the medical field for example.
During early world history, many groups of Maanuls didn't know maaaus existed for a while. as the species itself is by default is extremely shy, and avoid being seen for it's own protection. Groups who interacted with them more weren't necessarily in contact with those unaware of the species. There was rumors of "little people" that would run into the reeds if it was spotted. Most people wouldn't believing it as no specimens were caught yet. The myth of "gnomes" originate from early sightings of maaaus from mainly children or intoxicated people. Gnomes in nuinuk art (place where this folkloric and mythological creature takes a large role here) resemble a maaau with a maanul face and no arms. People confused their constant tucked arms for a lack of them.
It is considered that there are 4 species of maaaus. Knaan maaau (vague term for west coasts) or more commonly referred by Juaan maaau, is considered to be the ancestor of the other 3 species. Pigmy, Domesticated maaau, and inland maaau are the result of maanul interacting with the species. By either domestication or just picking them to be on their boat during travel, and then introducing them to new environments. While there are more species living of maaaus than maanuls, maaau's have a much smaller world range than their larger cousin maanuls. Who have spread out on most coastlines, thousands of islands, inland seas regions, some maanul populations even remaining in the artic sea all year. The original range maaaus had was quite small, more than half of their modern range is from maanul interactions.
thank you for reading. Here is a maanul sitting down and showing off a maaau to a mierthri. mierthri and maaaus are almost the same size. maaaus have a longer neck and legs.
Some additional doodles under the cut as a treat
they're not the most accurate thing ever, these are from me drawing friend's / their oc's as maaaus, shitposts basically.
additional ones that i think are cute. featuring domesticated maaaus

See, here's the thing about generative AI:
I will always, always prefer to read the beginner works of a young writer that could use some editing advice, over anything a predictive text generator can spit out no matter how high of a "quality" it spits out.
I will always be more interested in reading a fanfiction or original story written by a kid who doesn't know you're meant to separate different dialogues into their own paragraphs, over anything a generative ai creates.
I will happily read a story where dialogue isn't always capitalized and has some grammar mistakes that was written by a person over anything a computer compiles.
Why?
Because *why should I care about something someone didn't even care enough to write themselves?*
Humans have been storytellers since the dawn of humankind, and while it presents itself in different ways, almost everyone has stories they want to tell, and it takes effort and care and a desire to create to put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard or speech to text to actually start writing that story out, let alone share it for others to read!
If a kid writes a story where all the dialogue is crammed in the same paragraph and missing some punctuation, it's because they're still learning the ropes and are eager to share their imagination with the world even if its not perfect.
If someone gets generative AI to make an entire novel for them, copying and pasting chunks of text into a document as it generates them, then markets that "novel" as being written by a real human person and recruits a bunch of people to leave fake good reviews on the work praising the quality of the book to trick real humans into thinking they're getting a legitimate novel.... Tell me, why on earth would anyone actually want to read that "novel" outside of morbid curiosity?
There's a few people you'll see in the anti-ai tags complaining about "people being dangerously close to saying art is a unique characteristic of the divine human soul" and like...
... Super dramatic wording there to make people sound ridiculous, but yeah, actually, people enjoy art made by humans because humans who make art are sharing their passion with others.
People enjoy art made by animals because it is fascinating and fun to find patterns in the paint left by paw prints or the movements of an elephants trunk.
Before Generative AI became the officially sanctioned "Plagiarism Machine for Billionaires to Avoid Paying Artists while Literally Stealing all those artists works" people enjoyed random computer-generated art because, like animals, it is fascinating and fun to see something so different and alien create something that we can find meaning in.
But now, when Generative AI spits out a work that at first appears to be a veritable masterpiece of art depicting a winged Valkyrie plunging from the skies with a spear held aloft, you know that anything you find beautiful or agreeable in this visual media has been copied from an actual human artist who did not consent or doesn't even know that their art has been fed into the Plagiarism Machine.
Now, when Generative AI spits out a written work featuring fandom-made tropes and concepts like Alpha Beta Omega dyanamics, you know that you favorite fanfiction website(s) have probably all been scraped and that the unpaid labours of passion by millions of people, including minors, have been scraped by the Plagiarism Machine and can now be used to make money for anyone with the time and patience to sit and have the Plagarism Machine generate stories a chunk at a time and then go on to sell those stories to anyone unfortunate enough to fall for the scam,
all while you have no way to remove your works from the existing training data and no way to stop any future works you post be put in, either.
Generative AI wouldn't be a problem if it was exclusively trained on Public Domain works for each country and if it was freely available to anyone in that country (since different countries have different copyright laws)
But its not.
Because Generative AI is made by billionaires who are going around saying "if you posted it on the Internet at any point, it is fair game for us to take and profit off," and anyone looking to make a quick buck can start churning out stolen slop and marketing it online on trusted retailers, including generating extremely dangerous books like foraging guides or how to combine cleaning chemicals for a spotless home, etc.
Generative AI is nothing but the works of actual humans stolen by giant corporations looking for profit, even works that the original creators can't even make money off of themselves, like fanfiction or fanart.
And I will always, always prefer to read "fanfiction written by a 13 year old" over "stolen and mashed together works from Predictive Text with a scifi name slapped on it", because at least the fanfiction by a kid actually has *passion and drive* behind its creation.

a key reason it's so hard to just migrate from one social platform to another is that all these platforms have very specific features which lead to subcultural norms that become almost impossible to replicate on other platforms. tumblr has talking in the tags and there's no equivalent on platforms with no sub-level for visible metadata. there's that post on here about how line breaks and reblogs read as different measures of timing which affect the rhythm of how you parse a post. similarly twitter's threaded replies create a timing you can't replicate here, especially because it's impossible to repost a tweet without seeing op's threaded replies, whereas here people can reblog an original post and never see the additions that op has added in subsequent reblogs even if they're intended to be part of the post. twitter also has private accounts which create smaller closer communities which are nevertheless still more open and less direct than, for example, group chats or servers in discord. discord's channel function allows you to carry on multiple discrete conversations with the same group of people or engage with only the topics you're interested in, but it also creates only closed communities, and large servers can unite people on common topics but provide no ability to curate the members of a community you want to engage with. and they're scary. instagram's image focus is great for sharing your art but not as great for letting it be shared because it doesn't have a real native share function (outside of sharing to your stories, which is temporary and doesn't create a feed), which leads to a culture of unsanctioned reposting; plus it's generally less communal. et cetera and so on and so forth. it sucks because every platform creates a very specific subculture that just can't be easily migrated elsewhere and none of them can't really replace each other. what we really need to do is band together and buy an island called social media island so that we can all coexist in a single shared space together and maybe we can even have a university
#rookposting#i want the priv twt culture on tumblr. i know uou can jave private blogs but it's different.

hi!!! ive been following you for your weaving for a little while now, and the stuff you make is absolutely amazing!!
im curious if youd ever post some of your lifting plans and drafts? id be so interested in seeing them and possibly trying some of the stuff you do out myself, so if you do have it recorded anywhere itd be so awesome to see B:•∆
Hi!!!!!! So, I would be absolutely thrilled to share drafts for anything original I make, but so far I've worked almost entirely from books. I'm always happy to say where something is from and walk you through any adaptations I've made or how a structure works and I'd probably send drafts privately if there is a specific one you ask about, but I feel a bit weird about just posting all of them publicly. Alternately, some of these are kind of "simple" or "universal" and may be in several books and I just worked them out in my own scribbly notebook, so there isn't really any draft I can share.

^ this is 2 block doubleweave, with a different tie-up for each piece. 8/2 cotton at 20epi (per layer, so 40epi in the reed) which was a bit too close. There's only one way to make it, it's not really a draft that can someone can lay claim to privately. Thread a straight draw, the wide block on shafts 1 to 4 (32 threads) and the narrow block on shafts 5 to 8 (16 threads), even shafts in one colour and odd shafts in the other. Slowly carefully derive the lift liftplan yourself according to which layers you want up and down at each point; I can share a photo of my notes but I'm not sure how useful they would be. It's in lots of books too - anything explaining doubleweave for 8 shaft looms will have it.

^ these are twills from the twill gamp section of Strickler's A Handweaver's Book of 8 Shaft Patterns absolutely phenomenal resource. 8/2 cotton at 24epi which is about right.

^ overshot also from Strickler, drafts 471-474. Tabby 16/2 cotton at 24epi, pattern weft 8/2 cotton (I also did some pieces with pattern weft 15/2 wool).

^ the first one is a copy, thread for thread, of ZZZZZ from 8 Shafts: Beyond The Beginning published by the Complex Weavers Guild. The second one is a narrower adaptation of it without reversals. Advancing wall of Troy twill, 2/15 wool, I think it was 24epi.
The third one is a near copy of the threading in For My Brother from the same book. I changed where the pattern was centred and I tried out many different treadlings as I went, just to see what happened. Interleaved twill - design a twill threading, then repeat it 3 more times starting 2 shafts over and in a different colour each time, so the final threading always goes "black grey white purple black grey white purple..." on {shafts 1, 3, 5, 7} and {shafts 2, 4, 6, 8} every time but it starts on different ones of those shafts. Warp 8/2 cotton boucle at 36epi, weft 33/2 60% cotton 40% linen.

^ deflected doubleweave! 15/2 wool at 20epi which was about right. I adapted a draft from Briand's The Art of Weaving by making all the blocks 4 ends wide instead of the 2, 4, or 6 ends they were in the book. Treadling is just made up on the fly (within the block structure), sometimes trying to make specific shapes and sometimes generating a random sequence on a computer. But again there's only really one way to make this on 8 shafts, it may turn up in several books.
Stay tuned for my bookshelf, I've hit the image limit...

Prompted by your post about dnp inviting audience interaction: it /is/ really brave, and so interesting! I haven't been watching them for long at all and one of the biggest things that just drew me in and deeply fascinated me about them is how so much of their work (not just on stage) is in some way a conversation/interaction with their audience and the more you watch the more you notice it. No wonder its easy to be parasocial about them and about the Phandom itself!
To me, at least, they seem to be the sort of performers/creators that need a relatively high level of audience interaction in order to be inspired or for their work to feel meaningful. Like, im absolutely sure they could also create things without this close relationship with their audience but it seems to be what their naturally drawn towards? Obviously the problem has been in maintaining boundaries within that but it seems like that's going better now than at some points in the past, which makes me really happy for everyone!
Sorry about the long yap, this is so interesting to me and I just needed to express it a little
(original post referenced) yes!!! i love this!!! so beautifully worded! no need to apologize at all - i am in such hearty agreement and actually think about this so often. i think the engagement with their audience is their superpower, and it runs so deep. what was one of dan's favorite things about phil before he met him? phil's interactive adventure videos, in which he was creating an interactive experience for his viewers.
when they film pinof1 together, what are they doing? they're answering an audience-submitted q&a. the audience interaction is literally baked into their foundation! <3
2010, dan's uni dorm. what's displayed behind him on his wall? art and letters sent to him by viewers. he films danmail vids where he opens and reacts to said art and letters and personally thanks the senders.
for years and years and years, what's at the end of every phil video? fanart! draw phil naked! (in retrospect literally so weird lol but shhh)
the ongoing avalanche of vyous and younows and tumblr reblogs/follows and responding to yt comments and retweets and and and. so much interaction. the videos directly engaging with twitter and tumblr creations. they see us, they know us, they get us.
their first book? included a double-page spread with dozens of pieces of phanart.
every single one of their tours has multiple essential audience interaction components, and even more brilliantly, with multiple different access points that are perfectly calibrated to their audience. too shy to speak up? send in a submission ahead of time. want to be a part of the masses? shout something out during the audience participation segments! and there's always the likelihood that they'll include fanart in the show itself, casually mention an actual actively popular fic, throw in an ancient phwedding manip, or just build whole segments of the show around our tropes and the world that we created with them. all of that keeps things exciting and engaging on stage, bc you never know exactly what's going to come next. but it also keeps their audience feeling seen, valued, and like co-creators in a way.
When you look at the other britcrew and big yters from the 2010s, they simply weren't generating that ongoing, authentic conversation with their audiences. their approach followed the simple format of: i post, you watch. and then it became: i post, you watch, then i try and sell you something while i call you my 'community' because you are all watching me and sometimes you talk to one another in the comments. but it's not like zalfie or joe and casper etc. were chiming in on the convos too, or at least not in any meaningful way. it wasn't a community in the same way.
dan and phil truly built community. i think communities require mutual exchange, communication, a sense of value and worth, commonly agreed upon truths, shared experiences, touchstones of connection, and leaders who have integrity. i know this is all starting to sound a little lofty, but i really do think dan and phil are good humans who have worked hard to wield their power and influence responsibly and compassionately. they set the tone for us, constructed this world, paid attention to what landed for us, how we responded to things, everything that we were up to in response to what they were up to. they listened. they made us feel seen and celebrated and appreciated, and in turn we continued to celebrate them. they created weird inside jokes, we adopted them, then we all shared the weird inside jokes. they existed, we created our own language and lore and encyclopedia in response, and now there's a whole stage show about it.
that's how you get people sticking around for 15 years. that's how you get people to actually want to spend money on you. and yeah, some more boundaries at times couldn't have hurt. they fostered a sense of proximity and entitlement that obviously put them in harm's way. but i'd say ultimately what they've manage to do has been a net good for them and a tremendous success.
you raised such a good point that it seems to be what they are naturally drawn towards. i think it's because they, too, were fangirls. phil was writing buffy fic. dan was running a lost wiki. they both understood the power of online fan community before they were the titans of their own. they get it, they get us <3
#dan and phil#don't think there are any tit specific spoilers in this#me yapping#you said 'let me submit a nice lil anon message' i said 'HOLD MY BEER'

Mural commission scams/Commission scams
(Mural commission scams/Commission scams)
If you are an artist who regularly posts art to tumblr, you may have received DMs/replies from accounts who are either asking to use your art in a mural because a client wants it or a message asking you if you take commissions (even if you have a post that would answer that question) before requesting you to draw their pet/family member.
These are actually known as scam messages/asks and were originally mainly spotted on deviantART/Twitter (X), Instagram, etc. You get these if you use certain tags as these mainly blank blogs are usually watching them for new artists to target and con money (or time) out of. These are never real people wanting art from you and are always scammers who have no interest in paying you for your hard work.
One of the most common things is that they will never look at your commission sheet or read your TOS, and will avoid answering any specific questions you may have since they’re not here to talk. Their talking is just trying to flatter you (claiming they love your art) and to make you think you’ll be getting a lot of money for little work. Unfortunately, these blogs do not want to pay you and they will not give you the funds no matter how much it is.
These kind of scammers will ask for your email and then send you a fake PayPal email claiming they sent you money but there was a problem and you need to ‘upgrade’ your account to receive the funds. This email is not officially sent by PayPal and is made to scare you into thinking something has went wrong. Do not worry. It is not a real PayPal email. It is a fake one.
Keep in mind these scam blogs will not use the payment methods you already offer. Their task is getting your email then trying to get your personal information.
If someone’s offering to pay you $300+ for a simple drawing of a generic dog took off Google images, be wary of the account and ask them questions first. If you feel like something is off, cut contact and report them immediately before blocking them.
If you drew the art anyway, just edit the drawing to have a block of text saying the commissioner was a scammer and then advertise your commissions!
Always have a clear Terms of Service around payment options and do not let high payments trick you into drawing for scammers.
I am post this with the art tag as it relates to art and the current situation of artists over here now getting the same scam messages that deviantART users get. Please share this post to your art friends.

Hey, so I mean this entirely in good faith and just want to see where you're coming from.
When you draw pictures of people (OC), why do you only list their name, age, disabilities, and race (and some other stuff sometimes)? not likes or interests or hobbies or a look into their life? Is there somewhere else for me to find out more?
Personally, I don't find those to be the most interesting things about a character or a person or an object or anything like that, and I don't typically base characters around it (not saying you do, just not sure why else they take precidence over other aspects of their character)
I love your art and hope youu have a nice day!
I’ll try to answer this in the best way possible, but my wording might be off because I am more ill than usual, so bare with me.
1. Experiences with creating Original Characters is not a monolith — what you like to do with characters may not be what another creator likes to do with them. Some people never make backstories for their characters and keep them mainly for designs. Some people like to create backstories, and both of these things can exist and are okay. What you personally find interesting isn’t the same for everyone.
Even if I do have backstories for many of my characters, not all of them are even close to finished yet or even fully fleshed out, I often start with basics and go from there. If you are interested in the backstories of my characters, I have a toyhouse in which I post them.
2. Race, Culture, Age and Disability is a huge part of a lot of people’s lives, I can attest to that for myself. A lot of what I put down as “descriptors” for my characters are for people to get the absolute “bare bones” of who this character is, kind of like a bio on social media. It may not personally interest you, but Culture is a huge aspect on how people develop and think, the way people grow up and who they are around influence their thoughts, likes, dislikes, career, life choices and more. I find that many people from different cultures are often very happy at the representation of their culture being present if done respectfully, and causes a lot of happiness to feel seen.
I have a particular interest in researching humans, cultures, disabilities and diversity. You don’t have to have those interests, the same way I don’t particularly have to have an interest in “likes vs dislikes” of a character.
It would concern me if someone doesn’t care about peoples race or ethnicity, the same way it concerns me when a white person says “well, I don’t see color”, it erases the diverse experience of being human. It erases culture, experience, struggle and more. A lot of POC, myself included, find solace in knowing someone may understand a specific experience of what it’s like growing up a certain way. That we are not alone in our struggles.
And this all relates to Disability as well. Able-bodied people are not going to understand the life of a disabled person they haven’t lived in. Growing up disabled, becoming disabled later in life, in general /being/ disabled is a different way of life than the average person. We have struggles and experiences not everyone can relate to — which means by sharing this in a description of a character — it can actually tell a lot about what they’ve been through and understand.
Other disabled people may not understand what life is like for another disabled person — I have had numerous asks and messages by other disabled people and able-bodied people alike telling me they are happy to see representation of a specific disability, or that they discovered a disability through my artwork and they were able to research it or even apply it to their medical training. This is a huge reason for why I do what I do.
I’m glad this is a question in good faith — Thank you for liking my art, and i hope you have a good day as well.
If you have anymore questions, I have an FAQ:

The offical art when it comes to Ed and Wrath are few and far between. However, there's some things I've noticed and would like to share!

Wrath, as a human, would have blue eyes - while this is something we pretty much already knew just by watching eps 28 through 30, if you look at Ed's eye color then you'll realize that they're very close to being inverses of each other!
Also Wrath is cool colors (Blues and greens, blacks and purples) whereas Ed is warm colors (Yellows and reds, whites and oranges). I think that's another contrast or inverse between them to show who they are as characters - with Wrath being a homunculus he is colder colors like the tones of a dead body or just generally not something alive, while Ed has warmer colors like a living human would.
There's more differences between them! Wrath's iris shape is (in the picture and originally) more circular than Ed's - who's is more ovular. Wrath also has slightly larger eyes than Ed, giving him a bit of more childlike appearance though his facial shape keeps him appearing as though he is of similar age to Ed. (I remember reading somewhere once, and please correct me if I am wrong but I personally believe this greatly, that Wrath was made with the goal kept in mind that he'd be an opponent to Ed of similar age and similar in other ways as well.) Wrath also has sharp teeth whilst Ed has dull flat ones - oddly enough Wrath's ears are pointed slightly and Ed's ears are rounded, furthermore giving the visual feel that Wrath isn't human. He must appear rather uncanny to Edward or to any human - same with the homunculi in general - because he looks human but with subtle things that make him... Off.
Wrath is all smilely too, whereas Ed looks more serious or weary; Showing off Wrath's inital innocence (which stays there throughout the series until he was betrayed by Dante and Envy, and I will fight anyone on that) and Ed's lingering distrust for Wrath. Fun fact, in CoS he seems to trust Wrath more even though the two never see each other again. Oh, they're gonna be the end of me. ED FUCKING ACTED LIKE HE KNEW WHAT WRATH WOULD WANT, which leads me to believe they had a talk or just SOMETHING during ep 51 that was cut out.

I have no idea what this image is from so please let me know if anyone knows! I've been curious for a while.
Anyway, Wrath:) He's poking out from behind Ed, and there's more things to point out between them!
Wrath is wearing dark clothes whereas Ed's wearing light ones. Like usual, Wrath's hair is down and messy while Ed's is up and neat. This is the offical art that made me realize that Ed has longer, thinner eyebrows than Wrath - who has thicker ones!
Also Wrath seems to be staring directly at Ed, but I personally can't read his expression as anything? Maybe curiosity? I'm not good with reading facial expressions lmao.
I only added this one bc WRATH LOOKS SO SILLY WHO THE FUCK PUT HIM IN A LIL SUIT??? HOW THE FUCK DID SOMEONE PUT HIM IN A SUIT???

I'm looking for a clearer image for this so I may update this post at some point to put the clearer one there if I find it!
Anyway so Wrath and Edward are standing back to back. They have a slight height difference with Wrath as the shorter of the two (I bet Ed is very happy/j)
Ed's expression is more angry or solem while Wrath's is a grin - but both can be said to look angry I'd think.
They both have a hand on their hip (Ed's in his pocket but Wrath doesn't have pockets, L) and the opposite arm resting more languidly at their side. They're both standing straight, Ed's head is tilted slightly downward while Wrath's is tilted up - no one else is shown standing back to back. Only Wrath any Ed. Al is there, standing beside Ed, but Gluttony is standing with his side to Alphonse, and Lust is more off to the side and facing the others rather than with her back to anyone. I think it is to further show that Ed and Wrath are such parallels (and Lust is standing a little to the side, possibly showing how she isn't really obeying anyone but herself - showing how she betrayed Dante and went to help Ed get Al back in exchange for becoming human again; But we know how that played out..)

I'm not really gonna talk about these here, as one of them is simply a scene redraw, and they're more Izumi focused if you look at them - with Izumi appearing somber while Ed looks weary or even fearful, and Wrath is just.. Being a kid. Running and flipping, and then in the redraw fighting Ed and Al.

The same could be said about these!! They aren't really interacting - in the first image Wrath is asleep at a table with the other homunculi, and in the second he does appear to be staring at Ed; But again Ed isn't focused on him.

Probably some of the ONLY FUCKING COS OFFICAL ART I HAVE FOUND with Wrath in it. Wrath and Ed are facing opposite of each other. No one, other than Wrath in the image, is fully facing at a side profile - which at first I thought represented how he had died, but Alfons is there and so is Eckhart.
Ed looks wistful, not angry but not happy. Sad perhaps, which is what he seems to be a lot in CoS. But Wrath, he looks down right angry. Yelling maybe? His mouth is opened wide and showing his sharp teeth, his visable eyebrow furrowed, he looks dirty and tired. Clearly this is during his fight with Gluttony, or. OR, this is just showing what Edward last remembers of Wrath. An angry boy always yelling and violent, but also determined and weak - and this fucks me up because out of EVERYONE in the image, only Wrath is the one Ed never sees again. Except like.. Riza but this aint about her. I love that they're seperated by the margin, representing the Gate kinda - Armestrian characters on one side, 'our world' characters on the other.
Again, this isn't really Ed and Wrath in particular. But I want you all to really look at Wrath. He's licking his Ed arm. In a similar fashion Dante does to Lyra's arm after possessing her body, and basically asking Hoenhiem to.. Yk, fuck. While I definitely don't think Wrath is doing it out of sexual desire or reason (although i do not know his intention), I do believe he's doing it to mimick or copy Dante. Hi if you're autistic, otherkin/therian, or plural and you like playlists about specific things you can relate to but you don't search for them anymore because you never seem to find ones that you can relate to as the type of autistic/'kin/system/etc. you are and/or they always seem to be the same 10 indie folk songs and you have nothing against the genre especially but once in a while you would like variety, some playlists with different genres, lyrics you can't necessarily immediately relate to but can see where the playlist maker was getting the idea from, songs by lesser known artists or types of music not often featured on that kind of playlist,
First of all, are you me? Because that's so specific. Second of all when you lament that you wish there was more content for people with your preferences you usually get told to make it yourself, so since you also somehow have this exact specific complaint, I have bitten the bullet for you and am graciously forcing you to look at my terrible yet pretentious taste in music <3
Hello this is my therian & otherkin playlist, songs about being or feeling any kind of nonhuman, not even just animals but also including ghosts, aliens, robots/computers, and many other less specific and more specific things. There are a good amount of wolf/werewolf songs because that's a popular thing for songs to be about but I'm not a canine at all so I promise it's not overwhelmingly wolf-themed
This is my autism playlist, with fewer songs that have one throwaway line about how Taylor Swift was socially awkward as a kid, and more songs about feeling disenfranchised by allistic society, being dehumanized and ostracized, and dealing with trauma as an adult. Trying to go for something relatable if you're not hyperverbal or you're low masking or you grew up in special ed or you have Autism Rage or you're generally not a quirky white TikTok girlie
This is my plural/system playlist, which was originally just private and made for our hyperspecific experience so in addition to #relatable stuff it also has a lot of songs that might make no sense to other systems, but I feel like sharing it anyway as yet another ploy to get people to listen to Monofader, so.
Also just for the hell of it this is my schizospec playlist, which is actually less edgy and probably more social media pop than most of the ones on Spotify because it doesn't have any Throbbing Gristle on it, but I may as well throw this on here too because it does have Vast on it and I need people to listen to Vast I'm gonna throw myself off a bridge for this having the wrong link when I posted this
I listen to a lot of types of music. They all have vibes for every genre preference. They have Lemon Demon and Miracle Musical and Jack Stauber and even the occasional Will Wood, but they also also a lot of the progressive and metalcore and industrial music and artists with fewer listeners that I miss on these playlists. They're partially sorted by genre/vibe, to varying degrees of effort. I just like playlists with variety, and I like when I find one that's about an experience I share with the person who made it, but it has songs I've never heard by artists I've never heard of, in genres that aren't familiar to me, because yeah, despite this one thing we share, I know that the courses of our lives are different and the art we engage with is different as a result! And for just a moment, I love to experience this condition/lifestyle from a completely different perspective than what I've already heard about a million times
When I see another autism playlist with Mastermind by Taylor Swift on it, I think this person probably has had a different experience growing up autistic than I did. And that's ok that my experience was more How Soon Is Now by the Smiths. But playlists always have Mastermind and never seem to have How Soon Is Now, so if you're more of a Smiths autistic, I got you

TSAC: Greetings, Three Signals! My name is Three Stars Above Clouds.
As I am sure you are aware, the integrity of the global broadcast network is decaying as time progresses. I recognize that there is a limited amount of time that we iterators have before long-distance communication becomes impossible. Thus, I have decided to make an effort to get to know my fellow iterators before I lose the chance.
Now, the primary reason for my contact: I became curious to investigate your broadcast frequency after it appeared on the long-range communications channels.
Your broadcast signature appears to match some of the data stored within my personal archives. I believe I may have recordings of some of your musical broadcasts, though I was unable to locate the source until now. I am glad to have identified their originator!
I will admit that I have only a passing familiarity with the arts; my expertise lies elsewhere. However you appear to be quite knowledgeable about cultural matters of a musical nature, and I am eager to learn more about areas of study outside of my own personal research.
I have some questions about your work, if you would not mind me asking. Do you have any favorite musical compositions, or perhaps some that are important to your research? I also wonder, is your work primarily curatorial, or have you created any original compositions of your own?
I appreciate your efforts in the realm of data preservation and dissemination; I believe such actions are quite valuable to the wider iterator community, especially during these times of looming isolation.
This broadcast is becoming quite long, so I will end my message here. I await your reply; may the Cycles be kind.
@threestarsaboveclouds
(ooc: WOW sorry this got long lol. In this post from a while ago TSAC mentions that they have some iterator songs archived, and I had that in mind when formulating this message https://www.tumblr.com/threestarsaboveclouds/758086912710000640)
TS: [ HELLO, THREE STARS ABOVE CLOUDS! PLEASE, EXCUSE MY INCONVINIENT WAY OF COMMUNICATION, BUT I'M VERY HAPPY TO HEAR FROM YOU! ]
TS: [ I AM PAINFULLY AWARE OF IT, YES. EVEN MY EQUIPMENT IS NOT IMMUNE TO TIME AND THE ELEMENTS. HOWEVER I AM STILL CAPABLE OF FULFILLING MY SECONDARY PURPOSE AND HELP YOU CONTACT ANYONE WHO MIGHT BE OUTSIDE OF YOUR REACH. I WILL ATTACH A BROADCAST SERIAL NUMBER THAT WILL REDIRECT YOU TO MY MAIN COMMUNICATION RELAY SATELLITE, FEEL FREE TO USE IT! ]
[ 1 FILE ATTACHED ]
TS: [ I’M HAPPY TO HEAR THAT MY BROADCAST IS STILL REACHING ANYONE. I’M ALSO REALLY FLUSTERED THAT ANYONE WOULD GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO REACH BACK OUT TO ME- I HOPE THE FREQUENCY ISN’T AN UNPLEASANT ONE FOR YOU… IT’S HARD TO FIND THE PERFECT TUNE FOR EVERYONE, BUT I’M TRYING MY BEST! ]
TS: [ I UNFORTUNATELY LOST ACCESS TO A LARGE PORTION OF IT DUE TO IT BEING CONSIDERED.. CONTROVERSIAL, BUT MY ARCHIVES OF ART CREATED BY MY CITIZENS IS STILL QUITE EXTENSIVE REGARDLESS! I DID DABBLE IN CREATION MYSELF TOO! ]
TS: [ I WOULD LOVE TO SHARE MY ARCHIVES WITH YOU, IF YOU’D LIKE TO TAKE A LOOK! MY CITIZENS HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLY PASSIONATE ABOUT A WIDE RANGE OF ARTS, FROM SCULPTURE TO THEATRICS… ]
TS: [ I MAY NOT BE AN ARTIST MYSELF, BUT I DID EXPERIMENT WITH RANDOMIZED MATHEMATICAL EQUATIONS BEFORE TO BASE MELODIES OFF OF, AND I AM WORKING ON A SOUND SYNTHESIZER PROGRAM THAT WOULD ALLOW ME TO COMPOSE COMPLETELY FREELY, BOTH OUT OF SOUND SAMPLES ALREADY GATHERED, AS WELL AS GENERATE NEW ONES- AHH… ]
TS: [ OH I HOPE YOU DON’T MIND MY POINTLESS TANGENTS… THAT DATA IS MOST LIKELY COMPLETELY USELESS TO YOU, I'M SORRY… NOT TO WASTE ANY MORE TIME OF YOURS, ON THINGS LESS SUBJECTIVE. ]
TS: [ I USED TO ANALYZE THE RHYTHMIC PULSE OF THE VOID SEA. MY THEORY IS THAT THE SAME RHYTHM COULD BE ALSO HEARD IN THE CHANTS DURING ANCIENT RITUALS, SOMETHING THE ANCIENTS USED TO HELP THEMSELVES REACH ENLIGHTENMENT BEFORE THE VOID FLUID HAS BEEN DISCOVERED. ]
TS: [ UNFORTUNATELY NONE OF THE CHANTS HAVE BEEN PROPERLY DOCUMENTED, AS THERE WAS NO WAY TO RECORD THEM, AND ALL THERE IS TO WORK WITH ARE SPECULATIONS, WORD OF MOUTH AND VAGUE MUMBLINGS OF THOSE WHO CLAIMED TO REMEMBER THEIR DISTANT REINCARNATIONS. SIMULATIONS EVENTUALLY RAN INTO LOOPS, AND THE ONLY SOLID THING THEY PROVED, WAS THAT THE CHANTS DEFINITELY HAVE NO EFFECT ON NON-SAPIENT BEINGS, THUS--- ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(OOC: I would like to highlight the fact that these two are not in fact neighbors, not like the iterators are in the game, at least! I admit it was a very spontaneous "what-if" idea that I did not run through Delta's permission first- I got way over myself.
For lore-accurate location of TSAC please refer to this post:
https://www.tumblr.com/delta-orionis/779480878118256640/i-didnt-want-to-derail-maryymaruus-reply-to
While I'm glad to hear they are not completely opposed to the idea of TS being a "distant neighbor", it would be an extremely distant one, even for iterator standards! "Wouldn't even show up on the map" kind of distant X'D TS's idea of what is "far away" is possibly skewed by how large the radius of his transmissions is--
It's best to consider this interaction non-canon for either of them.
Thank you and apologies for the misunderstanding! )

*All the farms have English as their primary language of communication, but each farm has a different secondary language they also teach. **I don't have general headcanons for the farms as a whole, but I headcanon specific human characters as multilingual besides Ayshe and Norman speaking the old demon language (share in the reblogs/replies)
Headcanon and not canon because it's more interesting and because for simplicity sake's I think Shirai would say everyone living in the demon world speaks and writes in English by default for reasons below the cut:
• The Western setting was chosen to intentionally make the anachronistic aspects of the farms feel more natural:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 1)
• The majority of the legible text shown not related to the original faith is in modern English in the Japanese raws for both humans and demons (them using international Morse code and sounding it out in English as opposed to using Wabun, the signs in Goldy Pond being in English) due to Shirai writing for a modern audience:
(Chapter 1 | 4 | 17 | 41 | 52 | 57 | 64 | 65)
However, Shirai's never said other languages weren't formally taught at Grace Field besides Latin:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 4 Q&A)
And even if the children were being taught to the tests for commentary on standardized testing, you could argue the kids could learn on their own time if language books are classified under the arts based on the first light novel's description of the library's contents:
(TPN Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman - “The Day Emma Cried”)
With the issue of "why didn't Ray ever bring up learning other languages after reading all the books in the library?" coming down to the same reason as this:
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 6 Q&A)
He just never brought it up. _(:△」∠)_

I couldn't find this answer in your blog so I hope this is okay to ask. How do you feel about artists selling fanart and merch of TMA? I saw somewhere that this show was copyrighted, but I know they're a lot of artists in this fandom who make a lot of cool art and with many different character designs. And if it is copyrighted and no one should sell anything related to tma, is there a specific design that is copyrighted, or just anything that draws inspiration from the show?
Hey so I get this question a LOT and so will give an answer here but it will be the same as previous. 1) Questions like this should be addressed to [email protected] as they will give better answers. My socials are NOT official company anything. 2) Our Podcasts are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Sharealike 4.0 International license which means People can duplicate, modify copies, sample it and generate fanworks on condition that: a) NO money changes hands. A lot of people interpret this to mean they can't make profit but it actually means money isn't allowed to be involved in anyway, even to cover costs. (it's just too easy to exploit loopholes if that isn't the case) b) Anything based on our work must ALSO be shared with the same licensing. c) Full credit needs to be given to the original work including links on where to find it etc. d) People do not claim we endorse their work
3) We can choose to allow certain extra stuff on a case-by-case e.g. we have granted certain permissions for charity or educational use etc. In my experience our fandom is pretty respectful (and creative!) but there are a few known bad actors who keep trying to flood online stores with copycat merch and spam duplicate Youtube and podcast content for a quick buck. To be clear though this is a personal social media channel not a business correspondence so this post is NOT an official edict or anything.
TLDR: As a gross over simplification, if the fanwork is distributed with the same licensing, with no money exchange and the original content is credited properly, it's fine. Otherwise they are open to legal consequences. As always just consume responsibly I guess and any questions on this stuff are better sent to [email protected]

tbh it looks to me like @honey-bitch is copying you and your format
Inspiration vs Copying
𝄞⨾𓍢ִ໋ Style can be rather difficult to talk about sometimes, I'm not one to be too prideful of how I look or create my work, though I do appreciate having "individuality" just like anyone else would. Sometimes, a certain flow can be engraved in your head subconsciously when you're an avid enjoyer of something & how it looks or is formatted.
I really don't think that she was intentionally trying to copy me. Mayhaps she just got used to they way I form it from reading my posts. In a way, I am flattered. Still, of course it's not the best thing to do in the long run. I think it's alright when you're first dipping your feet into something; use it as a guide. When you think about it, it's kind of like changing your profile or personality to match a character from a movie or tv show that you like fresh after watching because in a way, you resonate with that character.
Eventually I know everyone'll get a hold of their own flow and aesthethic since, well— that's how it works naturally. You take inspiration, and shape it into something new that aligns with you more.
Even my blog is a collection of the things that I like; movies, perspectives I learned from friends, people I've met and from my time growing up and visiting unique (but also kind of sketchy) blogs and sites available on the internet. I am also an amalgamation of them but not exactly. See?
Same goes with fashion, makeup or cinematography. Inspiration is everywhere, that personal touch and adjustments are what make for something different. YouTube thumbnails usually have it's own scandal of copy & paste when it comes to "mainstream" content, I think it's no different from any other industry.
₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭ ⭑ . ₊ ⊹ .₊๋‧₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭ ⭑ . ₊ ⊹ .₊๋‧₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭ ⭑ . ₊ ⊹ .₊๋‧₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭ ⭑ ⊹ .₊๋‧₊ ˚ ⊹ ࣭ ⭑

I appreciate being able to be someone people recognize just through my work and things that I create alone. To me, that symbolizes true impact when people like you and resonate with what you share & are passionate about.
In a way, they are sharing you. A living proof of your existence.
If my work and findings are able to ignite something in even just one person, then I think I've done right in a way.
I think it'd be a bit egotistical of me to assume that anyone is directly copy & pasting aesthetics when technically, I don't own the images or headers (like 90%) is from Pinterest so I don't have the right to be personally mad.
Unless— it's a clear copy paste of my work itself & stripping it from it's source to benefit yourself whether for money or clout (like the ones on TikTok whom I immensely detest at the moment). Please don't do that.
Also, there's usually a tremendous dichotomy between straight up copying and inspiration. ( Usually it's very obvious like them trying to erase the original creator or person they were stripping that "personality" from or pretending they were that way from the start). I personally don't see that from her at all.
Thank you for considering my thoughts, since now I'm able to talk about this topic in general. I hope it reaches all that needs to hear or listen, since well people tend to get a lot of hate for something like this or have it misunderstood no matter which industry or community it's coming from. Inspiration is good, but lifeless copying is not. Though of course each creator is entitled to their own beliefs in the end.
In conclusion,
I believe everything that lives and breathes and creates art is naturally going to be a sponge. Absorbing little bits of different things that aligns with their soul to build upon a true self in the future.
Also side note, I don't wanna be that one lady that said Ariana "stole" her song flow for 7 rings. Pls help cause I don't wanna have that in my digital footprint.
p.p/s: here were my early tumblr inspirations, they are accounts that I used to frequent on end up clicking on while either going down some sort of rabbit hole or just stumbled into through curiosity over a single placement. I posted them very early into my posting days. Again, I never intended on posting or having my own blog in the first place so being here still feels like a bit of a (mush)shroom trip lol. I'd like to think a part of them will live on through me as well. So as the creators on YouTube, Lindaland, Curious Cat , reddit & even literally the people I've met offline because they've unknowingly provided me with much thread to connect things I would have otherwised been blind towards. Also, this blog has allowed me to interact with people I never thought I would have otherwise! It's crazy how life works.

General Information:
Lucifer before the Roman Catholic Church demonized him was a minor Roman God of Dawn. Since then he is been well known as “Satan” or “the devil” which isn’t true in the Bible Lucifer is never mentioned by name except one passage talking about the Morning Star which can be any god/goddess in the Middle East and nearby nations.
There is not well documented stories about Lucifer other than he works along side of Aurora the goddess of Dawn. Ovid the Pagan poet mention Lucifer as being the son of Aurora and Cephalus or Asterius (depending on what story you read), as she is the first to awake as she rides across the dawn filling the sky with light. Lucifer follows her capturing the light of the stars and pouring light from his jar. He also directs the order of heaven when the dawn comes to being. Known as the “Light Bringer” and “Herald of Dawn” and the Greek name “Phosphorus” which means Light Bringer as well. He is the physical representation of Venus/Morning Star. The Evening Star is his brother Hesperus representing the same star but at night overtime they merge together as one.
Obviously Lucifer isn’t all recognized as being Lucfiercus of Roman mythology. The Roman Catholic church used Lucifer as a scapegoat when demonizing their old pagan traditions. Since then a lot of Satanists and Lucferians see Lucifer as the Christian Devil which is valid. From my experience he doesn’t mind that, even I use the left handed path sources for his symbols and attributes even his sigil I used as a representation of him. I created this post to help people actually understand that Lucifer isn’t evil nor related to Abrahamic faiths in the first place. His origins do not show that, he was a god that helped bring dawn across the sky. It’s important to learn about gods who were demonized their actual purpose to cultures not just Lucifer but a lot of the “demons” we know today were once Gods and Goddesses. There is nothing wrong with seeing Lucifer as a fallen angel or a prince of hell just keep in mind that is not his true origin.
His appearance:
I have started to work with Lucifer early this year and it was quite interesting but in my meditations, that’s where I began to fully understand and work with him and help me to deconstruct my fears about him.
Traditionally he is a young man sometimes a child like Cherub (the classic art painting not Biblical accurate) with wings. I see him as a young man, but he is very bright! From my own experience has light colored hair almost white sometimes black, his skin is pale or gray, but his eyes always burnt orange so bright with massive black wings you would see on angel. At times he appears to me not in a physical sense in my meditations but in the sky as a bright star glowing like the sun. It’s quite beautiful.
My Experience from Working with him.
He has helped me being more empowered and trusting of myself, helping me hone in my skills of magic. Like giving advice and guidance on certain things. People who say he is like a father figure, I can most definitely agree with that, very gentle and very patient. But he will push you through not in a malicious way of course but a very tough love way, that he wants you to accomplish. I notice ever since I’ve been working with him I’m more confident and comfortable with my self and expressing my feelings.
Tarot Cards:
This is the tarot cards I personally associate him with feel free to use it but just sharing it in general sense!
The Sun
The Star
The Devil
