Making things more accessible for disabled people with motor impairments and other disabilities,doesn't just help with those specific disabilities,it also helps disabled people as a whole.

If a space is easier for people with mobility aids to move around,it's easier for people with Dyspraxia and/or visual impairments and similar conditions too!(and also young children)

If a space is designed around people with visual epilepsy or similar conditions,it's also less distressing for people whose sensory issues are triggered by flashing/bright lights.

If a space is designed around sensory seekers,with lots of sensory rich surfaces,it's also helpful for people who are visually impaired who can use these to better understand and navigate our environment.

If a space is designed to have lots of resting spots and anti slip devices for physically disabled people who need breaks from moving around and could fall and get hurt easily,this is very helpful for people with visual impairments and dyspraxia.

Accessibility is helpful to all of us. Ableism hurts all of us.

Together,we can survive and thrive.

nobody asked but i want everyone to know that when i draw karlach doing a happy tail thrash, it's stimming. i'm drawing her happy flapping. i'm not trying to compare karlach to a dog (or, rather, i'm not trying to condescend to her or minimize her pain or awareness or intelligence). i think everyone knows she's got big feelings and she's a very physically emotive and fidgety person (we've all seen her little dance) so it just makes sense to me that she would vent her excitement physically somehow.

also it's what i would do if i had a tail. i'm stuck using my hands lmao

I think I'd consider myself a decent stim toy reviewer, but I havent reviewed EVERY toy I've posted about. If anyone ever looks through my blog or stim toy collection and wants me to give an honest review of one of the items, send me an ask and i can do that! I'm always sure to include the positives and negatives!

Man, do any other autistic/ADHD folk not like wearing rings because of sensory issues? Like, rings look super cool and alternative and I'd totally wear them but I just cannot. They feel weird on my skin and I can't draw my attention away from them, and if I wear them for long enough, the uncomfortable feeling causes me to dissociate a little. But the feeling of having something in that area is still nice and pretty grounding, I just prefer to wear a watch or bracelet instead of a ring.

I know what I do love to wear? Necklaces! I love stimming by pulling the chain against my neck or fiddling with the end or messing with the pendent!! I literally have to limit the amount of necklaces I wear so my neck doesn't feel too heavy, and because I have one necklace that I wear all the time (a stim necklace with spinning circles on the end that I'm addicted to lol), that limit is usually one or two more at most. But I have so many cool necklaces compared to just an old ring or two in my jewelry collection.
