How Exercise Reduces Belly Fat in Humans
I am guessing that belly fat is the number one source of concern for people taking up exercise – or continuing it. So many fruitless hours have been spent on ‘ab-work’ like sit-ups and stomach crunches with little sign of success. It turns out that reduction of that ‘spare tire’ is far less complicated than many suppose. Simple, but not obvious.Summary: According to researchers, interleukin 6…

yea it's really kinda fucked up what kind of attitudes people of various professions have towards hyper mobility in itself and what it could be connected to. like I had a friend who dislocated her shoulders maybe once a week and we overheard the adults talk about how the medical conclusion seemed to be "hmm, is this kid being abused" rather than "maybe there is a reason this kid dislocates her shoulders every time she tries to hang from something". and then my teacher, when I went to school, just straight up told us that joints overextending just means we've got weak muscles and having a specific kind of posture means we are in bad shape (kids! we were kids! not even pre-teens yet wtf?) and then later on a personal trainer kind of person declared I am NOT hyper mobile because apparently my hands didn't align a certain way she was looking for? like I can sublux my shoulders at will, have to walk a certain way to keep my knees aligned, lock up my fingers doing certain activities etc and apparently maybe have some extra wear and tear here and there from this sort of shit, but you got it, pal 🙄
honestly I don't understand what's so hard for ppl to comprehend like your body's right there and it's doing this thing and then ppl keep going "oh, idk, maybe this isn't a thing?" like ???
Oh my god, that's immensely fucked up. I'm sorry you have awful medical professionals like that in your life... Truly, you deserve better!
I absolutely think 'oh you can just exercise away EDS/HSD in general' is a massive oversimplification. Strength building exercise has HUGE benefits for hypermobile folks, don't get me wrong! But exercise doesn't do jack shit about internal organ problems, or get rid of long-term damage that's already been done to nerves or joints? And frankly, if you are severely unstable, it can absolutely make it worse.
Like..... I am muscular. I work out A LOT, and have done for years. I have a lot of visible muscle! I have very little body fat, but what weight I carry, is muscle. It just......... only gets me to the approximate strength of an 'average' person, and my joints are still very weak and give out regularly.
My physio still wants me to work out even more to add more muscle mass, for what amounts, all together considering my personal exrcise plan, to 2+ hours a day (approximately 1 hour of work out and 1 hour of physio) just to maintain my ability to walk dodgily and not lose further functionality & sensation in my legs.
Like... That's completely unfeasible considering I also have a day job with up to 12 hour shifts, chronic fatigue and pain AND exercise intolerance??
The 'exercise' solution just feels like a super-handy way for health professionals to put all the pressure on the individuals to manage their own condition, with completely unrealistic expectations, and minimise the amount of care they actually provide. Like, I know EDS is a genetic incurable condition and there's literally nothing else you can do except brace, rest lots, gain muscle, exercise, and treat the internal problems as they occur. But. Sigh. A little appreciation of how that's impossible for most people living with this condition would be better than the usual 'oh this will be cured by exercise so it's not actually a problem :)' bullshit.
But.... yeah. Shit's fucking wild. I'm truly sorry you and your friends dealt with that. Keep on troopin'. You know your body better than any health professional you see for a fifteen fucking minute appointment. x

High blood sugar can cause by plaque to build up in your arteries due to high LDL cholesterol. This makes the arteries narrower and harder, which makes your heart work harder, leading to high blood pressure. Diabetes and high blood pressure have a some same causes such as Inflammation, High oxidative stress, Weak immunity, Obesity, Smoking, Excessive alcohol consumption, Unhealthy diets, Imbalance in sodium & potassium intake. If you are suffering from both then it increases the risk of heart damage, kidney disease and other serious issues Vision problems, Kidney damage, Heart attack, Stroke etc.

Physical exercise has been seen to good effect on both BP and BSL. This exrcise include running, jogging, cycling, dancing, yoga, tai-chi. These types of exrcise will defenitly helpfull for both BP and BSL.
2)Clean up your diet:
Improving your food habits is very important to regulate both BSL and BP.
You have to eat variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. 2.More high-fiber foods
Less salt
Avoid foods with a high glycemic index (foods that quickly raise your blood sugar) and fried and fatty foods
3) Stop smoking:
Smokers with diabetes have been seen to be at high risk of developing a number of serious complications, such as Kidney disease, Heart damage. You have to Reduce alcohol consumption. Alcohol is high in calories. It triggers weight increase, causes thickening of arterial walls, and high BP. If you must keep it to a minimum or, even better, switch to sparkling water.

"how to protect knees during exrcise
Protecting your knees during exercise is essential for preventing injuries and maintaining long-term joint health. Start by ensuring proper form and technique, maintaining alignment and avoiding excessive strain on the knees. Consider wearing supportive footwear and using knee pads or braces for added protection. Gradually increase intensity and impact of exercises to avoid sudden stress on the knees. Additionally, incorporate exercises that strengthen the surrounding muscles to provide stability and support to the knees. Regular stretching and proper rest also aid in protecting and maintaining knee health during exercise.

This is my FB timehop from today last year. I need to get back down to this fitness level. It's not about the size, however it is the effect of getting to a desired fitness level. This was just before my weight began to pile on due to a health development that I allowed to get into my head. Add that on top of my spiritual growth process, inevitable weight gain. I'm not obese. I'm not overweight, in my eyes, but I am uncomfortable and I feel heavy within my workouts. When our body feels heavy, it's difficult to move freely which can effect what we attempt to do. I am determined to push hard again. Workouts, blasting sessions and always moving throughout the day. It'll be easier now that it's getting warm out. Gardens will be planted and tons to do outdoors. The dog will get walked more and I will be more productive. This time last year my mindset wasn't as it is today. Imagine who I'd be if I combined me today with my fitness determination from then!! Keep your mindset on point. #spiritualgrowth#exrcise#exercise #health #workout#move#mindset#thoughts#determination#fitgals#fitmoms#fitmomsoverfourty#summeractivities#gardening#outdoors https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvz2py2l_Yv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1bxhrswjoxqgo

Yoga buns, Diary Entry 7
I finally got around to exercising, which is good. Did some yoga and bodybuilding, which was quite fun. Now am tired and lower body be sore.
1281, their mother and I ended up talking for a while about abuse and accepting people. Aunty 05 had an abusive father, and she prides herself on being better than him. She is, to a degree, but I can see that her attitude of "you have it so much easier than I did" is messing up 1281. She openly says "some kids deserve it", which worries me greatly. I've seen her ignore 1281 being sick while I'm here, I shudder to think what she's like when guests aren't here
Anty 05 has been making 1281 sleep in her bed, where she would normally let them sleep next to 942 when she stays here. I don't know if it's transphobia or something, but I do know it's disturbing their sleep, so I asked if I can give 1281 their bed back and sleep somewhere else. I got a firm no on that, as well as a long conversation about her divorce and Covid-19. Apparently I need my privacy
